Where to Find Miami’s Most Iconic Restaurant Dishes | Eater Miami

"Caribbean flavor profiles are one of the foundations of Miami’s culinary landscape, and for more than four decades, locals have been visiting Clive’s for a proper Jamaican experience. The no-frills restaurant is known for its jerk chicken featuring fragrant, fiery hot, and smoky flavors all at once. Owner Pearline “Miss Pearl” Murray offers the soulful dish during lunch and dinner, accompanied by two sides: potato salad and plantains or a hearty portion of rice and peas." - Juliana Accioly

Jigga Jerk - Review - Wynwood - Miami - The Infatuation

"Editor's note: Jigga Jerk Joint is currently closed and in the process of relocating. Check their Instagram for the latest info. Eating grilled meat in a parking lot brings us back to the simpler days of Wynwood—days when there were actual parking lots that could fit a truck towing a smoker. Jigga Jerk Joint, located on the eastern outskirts of Wynwood, is a throwback to that era. The jerk chicken spot consists of a couple chefs tending to chicken and pork underneath a pop-up tent in a parking lot perfumed by smoke and scotch bonnet. The jerk chicken is really good—go with that over pork. Their hours are limited, but they’re open very late Friday and Saturday for any post-bar-hopping needs. They also have a scotch bonnet hot sauce so spicy it might make you hallucinate. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc" - Ryan Pfeffer

First things first, I am from Trinidad and when it comes to Jamaican Jerk I have ate lots from many different places so wanted to give this a try. So its on a corner field, outdoor seating only so summer time expect to be uncomfortable but I was getting mine to go anyway. Grills set up outside like traditional jerk should be and smelled amazing! Now its a Thursday evening around 7pm so not busy, there were two people already ordered and waiting, one person i front of me in line...I ordered 1/4 chicken and 1/4lb pork...by the way no sides just chicken, pork and a slice of bread is how it comes so you would think as normal jerk places its off the grill, chop chop chop in some foil and you're good to go....WAITED 45MINS! I was visibly upset and when I finally got my food the lady taking orders apologized for the wait "but it's been a day" I understand they might have had some issues but its not the customers fault, and if you want to make up for a 45 minute wait then you offer a discount or her's some extra meat or something...but unfortunately not. So now I am on my way home not happy and hoping that this has to be some of the best jerk I've ever had to make up for it. So the chicken was a breast and wing, cooked well still juicy and good flavor and I had a side of jerk sauce as well...but the heat was not there. Yes I am used to spicy food, but when a traditional Jamaican jerk is involved the heat has to be more prevalent. Same for the pork, flavor definitely there, well cooked and they use a good cut but again just needed more heat. I really wanted to enjoy this thoroughly and I will say overall the meat was good but I can get good jerk at many other places without waiting outside in the summer heat with mosquitoes and gnats biting. I love seeing my island people succeed and I am trying to be as fair as possible in this review. Maybe they need more time to get their rhythm and I hope they do but I am wishing them well.

Great food and great people! Planned on taking it to go. After seeing how well it was prepared and cooked, plus all the love that went into it, we had it eat here and we were glad we did.

Ordered the whole chicken, rice and peas and grilled bamny. (They were out of the corn). The jerk chicken was well seasoned and of course freshly prepared. Three sauces available: a sweet and spicy “ketchup”, a medium heat jerk, and a scotch bonnet. It’s no frills, you dine on a couple picnic benches right off the foil that the food is served in. If you’re used to food truck culture this is right in line. Also, plan ahead, because as they do in Jamaica it takes a while, as it’s cooked to order.

Best jerk you’ll have. They have a custom smoker and grill and use the best smoking woods and spices to create a rich, deep, flavor that’ll keep you coming back for more! Also, the nicest people. 100/10 🔥🔥🔥

The meat is well done and juicy. However, it is not seasoned. My friend and I ordered jerk chicken, pork, rice and bammy. The bammy was greasy, burnt, and not edible (pictured). The rice was dry. The meat is the only thing worth getting. Not to mention, they only give you one slice of bread that they cut in half with your meat. It took about 30 mins (due to the bammy being freshly cooked, I guess thats why it was burnt) and we were the only ones there. They give you little sauce for your meat, and I smell like I was the one behind the grill 🤦🏽‍♀️ I wont be back 🚮

Saw this place on IG and wanted to try it. The weather was nice so dining outside wasn't a problem. The music created the vibe. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Definitely going back!!
