The 26 Best Restaurants In São Paulo - São Paulo - The Infatuation

"Jiquitaia is set inside a 1950s São Paulo townhouse, with a vintage feel from the original brickwork and tiling. It lends the place a homely atmosphere that belies the quality of cooking on show. The food could be described as modern pan-Brazilian, with inspiration from the Amazon (a tangy duck risotto with jambú and tucupí), the whole north (pirão), and more. But there are distinctly Asian flourishes that set it apart from many of the city’s top Brazilian restaurants. Excellent fried fish is hidden by a zingy and generous Thai-style green papaya and mango salad, and grilled okra arrives lined up like a box of cigars, topped with a sesame and miso dressing. An extensive cachaça list means the caipirinhas are stellar, and the cachaça slushy with passion fruit, banana, and coconut is both wacky and wonderful." - tome morrissy swan

"If you're looking for typical homemade Brazilian cuisine prepared with quality ingredients, then this is the perfect place! Jiquitaia occupies a charming 1950s house surrounded by greenery, with a large, elegantly decorated dining room, where a plethora of wood and beautiful photos on the walls provide the decorative backdrop. Here, chef Marcelo Corrêa Bastos conjures up comforting traditional cuisine that feeds body and soul. During the working week, the playful “executive” menu is complemented by a concise menu featuring delicacies such as “coxinhas de frango caipira” (deep-fried dough filled with chicken), fish “moqueca” with shrimp, and grilled fish of the day served with a tasty pirão porridge. It's also worth noting that Jiquitaia also has a superb array of cachaças from across Brazil which have been carefully selected by the owner." - Michelin Inspector

The 35 Best Restaurants in São Paulo, Brazil | Eater

"Jiquitaia may have upgraded from a townhouse to an airy, elegant space in the Paraíso neighborhood, but the kitchen has maintained its quality. The no-frills restaurant, led by siblings Nina and Marcelo Bastos, still focuses on Brazilian regional cuisine. The menu starts with petiscos, local snacks usually eaten with your hands, like coxinhas and pork rinds. Main dishes include local classics, such as feijoada (the ubiquitous bean and pork stew) and maniçoba (made with ground and cooked cassava leaves, here served with pork knuckle), but diners will also spot more creative preparations, such as fried fish with green papaya salad. It is, without a doubt, one of the best places to get to know the culinary diversity of Brazil." - Rafael Tonon

Food was so delicious! Everything here was spectacular. We will be back for roast duck risotto, roast pork belly cracklings and beef fat mushrooms.

Jiquitaia Restaurant, São Paulo * We were looking for place to have a lunch and found this on google map and decided to go there since it was the nearest to where we were and also near our hotel. Only to realised that it was Michelin Listed Restaurant. Let’s put the food aside first, their service was impeccable. Even though we arrived at 2pm (they closed at 3pm) with 13 person unannounced, they went out of their way to accommodate us. We only finished our late lunch at 4pm (due to wait for table and huge group number). There was no one word of complaint. Even the owner chef was out there smiling and chit chat with us. They serve a typical homemade Brazilian cuisine prepared with quality ingredients. Their location is also very homely and warm. Almost all the dishes we orders I liked. Especially the okra with miso paste, pork crackling. Pity we had no more room for dessert. We had such a good meal that we wanted to go back for another meal before we left São Paulo but our tight schedule meant we did not managed to do so. It was a great disappointment. If you are ever in São Paulo this is a must visit restaurant. Please call in advance to make reservations, don’t be like us! #traveljournal #foodies #restaurantreview #saopaulo #brazil #jiquitaia #michelinrestaurant #michelin

Rating: 4.5 starts rounded up to 5. The food was very good and well as the drinks. I particularly enjoyed the cashew based caipirinha. All the food I ordered was tasty — the okra appetizer, the moqueca, and the dessert.

Traditional Brazilian cuisine. Have some signature dishes like crispy pork belly and the pork cheek. The food are very affordable and delicious. The waiters don’t speak English so it might take some time to order. They do have online menu in English.

We didn’t speak Portuguese, and the staff was so patient and nice. They let us have a drink outside while we waited. Food was brilliant, and the best we had in São Paulo period.

Delicious take on Brazilian cuisine from the whole country. Everything was tasty and uniquely flavourful. Their beer/cocktail selection is worth mentioning as well. Totally worth the price. Booking in advance is highly recommended
