Tldr: Good quality coffee, unique decor, local art on the walls, great East Atlanta Village neighborhood with lots of wall art, and perfect location before discovering something else unique and exciting nearby
I hadn't been here in years. I actually had a Human Rights Campaign meeting years ago and this was the perfect central location at the time. This was the pre-historic, pre-coffee-shop-fan-girl times. I didn't truly appreciate my coffee experiences. I was just lucky I found parking, didn't get towed, and got home safely. Now is a different story. Due to my other focuses at the time (Business, not driving much in atlanta, and getting work done) I never remembered JEACS as something exciting, but I saw it in a new light today. Acronyms are very trendy these days so I thought I would create one and maybe it'll go VIRAL in yelp reviews! No, viral doesn't stand for anything, it was just out of excitement.
JEACS is an amazing coffee shop! The coffee here tasted amazing. I got their house cold brew and added some cream. I brought Justin and he got his favorite iced chai. Their iced chai is light on the spice, but a great alternative if you don't want coffee. When we walked into the coffee shop, Justin was really happy to see paintings from his favorite artist all over the walls. The art is local and fun. The staff, not sure if it was actually the Joe this coffee shop was named after, but he was really nice and helpful in figuring out what we wanted. The decor here is really fun, it gives off eccentric uniqueness that you can't find anywhere else in the area.
This coffee shop is perfect if you want to go try the new sushi doughnut, or get some pizza, or go to a LGBT dive bar across the street called Mary's and/or a dance lounge that plays trap music nearby called The Graveyard. The neighborhood has a ton of art on the walls and that makes it an even more unique neighborhood. The area can be a little dangerous at times it seems, but I think if you just remain aware of your surroundings it is okay. I'm surprised that this is the first time I walked around this awesome gem neighborhood and excited that I got to experience it. I look forward to discovering new places in East Atlanta Village.
