On the Grid : Joe's Coffee Shop

"Walking into Joe’s is a bit like walking into a college lounge. Comfortable couches and tables meant for spreading out sprawl this way and that. A hodge-podge of lamps illuminate a bulletin board promoting upcoming concerts. Joe’s welcomes you like one of its own, even if it’s your first time. The coffee is strong, expertly brewed, and lovingly served by a staff member who doesn’t ask you to call him “barista.” The baked goods display features high, elaborate constructions like the beloved Rainbow cake. At Joe’s the vibe is relaxed, the company is good, and the coffee is the best part." - Treebird Branding

Joe's East Atlanta Coffee Shop - Review - East Atlanta Village - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"While this can be a grab-and-go neighborhood coffee spot, you’ll want to build in time to stare at the artwork on the walls. Walking into Joe’s you can’t help but notice the large Creation of Adam painting on the ceiling. Look harder and you’ll see God's outstretched hand holds a coffee cup. That image alone just about sums up the vibe at Joe’s. Lovingly mismatched couches and chairs populate the room, and casual EAVers who look like they work at some goat lullaby startup stare at their computer screens as they sip cafe usuals like cappuccinos and iced coffees. Joe's also offers a few empanadas and other pastries, but these are really just to tide you over until you can snag a real meal." - Juli Horsford

Why is this my first time here?? Joes is low key unrated. I had a peach cobbler latte iced with oat milk that was so damn tasty! The staff was so nice and complimented me on my tan lol. Great place if you wanna go get some work done. They have a patio area that I didn’t get to visit but I definitely will next time. I saw reviews that said the food and pastries are really good but I didn’t try any. Will definitely do that on my next trip As well.

Google
Really tasty coffee and baked goods including vegan ones from flour and thyme. This place is really special, it opened in 2002 and in today’s world it feels like something from a bygone era in all the best ways possible. It’s like an opportunity to go hang out in a coffee shop you might recognize from a movie or TV show from 25-35 years ago. Cozy eclectic furniture, wild wall decor, interesting/friendly characters and personalities, a community board and a book shelf benefiting the local library. A rare business that feels like it’s actually part of a community rather than something there just to take your money. If you think about the myriad of ways Atlanta has changed since 2002 when this place opened, it’s something of a miracle they’re still here to provide the city and neighborhood with this kind of vibe. Definitely something worthy of support - not to make it sound like a chore, the drinks and baked goods are delicious anyway!

Gina Gault

Google
It’s clear that this business is a staple in its community. The coffee is delicious. The art is rotating. There is work being done on laptops, in conversation across comfortable seating. The staff is friendly enough and puts care into their pastries, drinks, and stuffs. Good value!

Google
Its a super neat place, in an old building. It's very artsy and eclectic. It's not in the nicest area, but it's a cool place to stop in to hang out or grab a coffee. My coffee was decent, nothing too exciting. After I had ordered I saw they had a special of the day that I definitely would have ordered!

Jake Smith

Google
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place deserves a warning sign. The coffee was average at best — bitter, lukewarm, and clearly not made with any care. But the real problem? The owner. In all my years of grabbing coffee, I’ve never encountered someone so rude. I came here hoping for a cozy spot to relax, but left irritated and uncomfortable. There are plenty of better coffee shops in the area where they actually treat you like a human being. Skip this one. Life’s too short for bad coffee and bad attitudes.

Lauren Farrar

Google
I got a regular coffee with the house made vanilla and it was great! Loved that I could add in as much milk as I want too. The atmosphere was a perfect, cozy with nice tables to work from. Loved the decor! Also, they had lots of vegan options which was nice to see. Will be back for some vegan pastries soon

Google
Love this spot. Cozy and neighborhood(y). Used to study here years ago...the vibe hasn't changed much (a great thing). Delicious lattes with milk alternative options. Ample seating inside and out back. I love the local spots and feel thankful they exist.

Google
I don't know Joe but I know his coffee shop deserves to be renamed "Joe's Super Cool Coffeehouse EAV". Not only the coffee but literally Everything at Joe's is super cool from the selection of cakes and pastries to the eclectic seating inside which is only surpassed by the ridiculously cool seating outside. Joe's is a people watchers dream. For sure the coolest people on the planet get their coffee at Joe's. Don't worry that your not cool enough as I am a 64 year old bald Trumptardian looking suburbanite who drives 20 miles into town to have coffee at Joe's and the baristas know me by name and know how to make me feel welcome and you will be welcome too.

Yelp
I came here with a few friends and we loved it. A great coffee shop with such a genuine/authentic vibe to it. The barista was friendly. The art and murals were very cool. I loved the feeling in there Also love the values of the place. They openly support causes I align with and I respect that (like a ceasefire etc.) You can see it on signs and stickers around the place. I appreciate that they aren't cookie-cutter and that it seems to be a place where people can express themselves. I had a hot chocolate, bean and cheese empanada, and double chocolate cookie. All of those items were good. I especially liked the cookie and hot chocolate. It's a perfect spot for a coffee shop. It's a nice place to stop at after doing some shopping in East Atlanta Village and there doesn't seem to be a lot of coffee shops right in that area or on that street. It was fairly busy when we went in on a Saturday afternoon but not overwhelmingly busy. I definitely plan on coming back :)

Yelp
LATTE BE! I will never say no to a cup of coffee. Whether it's drip or a latte, sign me up. After eating at Emerald City Bagels, we had some time to kill before our next activity of the day. Coffee was on the agenda. We were so happy to stumble upon Joe's. Joe's coffee is an East Atlanta classic. If you haven't been to Joe's what are you doing? They offer a variety of hot and cold beverages as well as pastries. Not sure if the pastries are made in house or ventured in, but they are all displayed very well at eye level when you walk inside the coffee shop. I loved the amount of space this shop had. Tables, couches and comfy chairs. Everything with fun colors. Extension cords were available for students/remote workers too. We love it when a coffee shop thinks of everything. We both ordered a toasted marshmallow iced latte. It was very good. But the best thing about this coffee shop are the employees. Each have great personalities and hold wonderful conversations with anyone and everyone who walk through their doors. If you find yourself in East Atlanta, definitely stop into Joe's you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I'm a huge coffee shop nerd - I love my morning coffee walks! Unfortunately Joe's is too far for me to walk in the morning but I have gone here for an afternoon cup a couple of times when I'm in the neighborhood and it's great! Love that their dairy comes from the Atlanta Dairies. It fits EAV rly well!

Yelp
This coffeehouse has a lot of personality-- a great place to chill, great place to work Seating: plenty, great place to work, outlets EVERYWHERE Parking: Street, but it isn't too crowded Drinks: Cold brew with espresso cold foam, nice blend of the acidity from the cold brew and darker espresso flavor from the cold foam, prices are reasonable Music: impeccable

Yelp
I am a sucker for small coffee shops! I'm a big reader and will be going back to school next year so Ambiance is important to me when it comes to being productive & this place is such a vibe!! love the coziness and also open space! I'm on a hunt to find a good lavender vanilla lattes (i've already tried about 4 from other coffee shops and this one was the best) the strawberry mango smooth was also really good! We had Rhyann as our barista and she was so sweet! very helpful when we were trying to figure out exactly what to try! Will definitely be going back for coffee dates, solo dates, and to get school work done!

Yelp
Absolutely a cool spot to come to for coffee and to hang or work. Great options and full of flavor no matter what you choose. The ambiance is nice and they have a nice playlist mf dim lighting. They have lots of setting and a cool vintage golden couch that is so comfy. I grabbed a white chocolate cherry frappe and iced chai latte with vanilla and oat milk

Yelp
So let me preface this by saying. I DID NOT TRY THE COFFEE. That being said let me explain why I gave a coffee shop 5 star despite not trying the coffee. I was in EAV strolling around and Joe caught my eye so I walked in. Let me start off my saying the inside is HUGE, and there's also outside seating that is a significant size as well. I absolutely loved the aesthetic of the coffee shop. The way the inside is set up is very homey. It feels more like someone's basement then a coffee shop, but in a good way. There are plenty of couch's, tables, and chairs so finding a place to work should not be an issue. Joes reminds me of the coffee shop in 'Friends' but that's just my opinion. When I went it wasn't too crowded or loud. (A Tuesday at around 1/2pm). Joes seems like a perfect spot for a coffee shop date, working or studying, a group project, casual reading. It's one of the best coffee shops I've been to in a while. Although I didn't have any coffee; I did however try the Vegan zucchini bread as well as the apple walnut bread. As someone who isn't vegan I can objectively say the Zucchini bread was better, but both were good. I'll have to update this review after I try the coffee. But solely from the vibes, bread, and overall aesthetics Joes gets a five from me. Be sure to look at the ceiling to see a cool Fresco. You're welcome! I will 1000% be back!

Yelp
I'm visiting Atlanta and heard about this coffee shop from our bnb hosts. They had never been themselves, so I don't blame them for the dumpster fire I experienced. It may have gone well if there wasn't an overbearing manager or boss or whatever they were present. She was rude to her employees and was correcting them every step of the way. I overheard her berating one young lady and saying, " You think you're helpful, but you're not." I don't care what that girl did. She didn't deserve to hear that. When I asked if she's training a new crew, she said, " No, things happen. It's no big deal. You didn't wait that long. " I was there for over 20 minutes. And it wasn't that busy. They had to re- pour my medium coffee 3× because I waited so long for my chai. Otherwise, it was a nice coffee shop and looked cozy. Too bad I'll never go back or recommend it to anyone based on the managers bad behavior. At the end of the day, their coffee isn't that different than any other place, so they should focus on customer service.

Yelp
I really enjoy coming to Joe's to work. So here's the run down of my experiences there: Parking - it can be a pain depending on when you go. Mornings to early afternoon seem to be the sweet spot. Inside - I don't have any pics of it but think of a glorified basement with a bunch of seating. I especially love that they have couches and tables and chairs so you can choose which one you'd prefer. It gives it a nice cozy feeling to the place. And there are plenty of sockets for plugging in (can be a little bit hidden depending on how many folks are in there, but they are there). Food/drink - I've only gotten beverages so far and normally get the hot chocolate which is delicious! Ambiance - highly recommend for working and for meeting up with a friend or even for a coffee date. I've never experienced it being super loud, but then again I'm always jamming to something in my headphones because I'm easily distracted by random noises.

Yelp
$6 for an ice coffee, not an iced latte...or cold brew. The ice coffee even was watered down. I'm not sure Manhattan even charges these prices. Felt very exploitative especially for the neighborhood/area

Yelp
I was in the area and looking for a good coffee shop. I was told that Joe's was the best in the area. I walked to the location and ordered from the window. I ordered a Chai Tea latte w/magic milk. This was the best drink ever! Thanks to the barista that recommended the magic milk. I'll definitely be back and will bring my fur baby next time.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop! The staff is super friendly and the lattes are to die for. I haven't tried any of their pastries but their espresso is delightful. Also, if you're into gardening, they offer their used coffee grounds for free, so grab a bag!

Yelp
Cool vibe...middle of the road coffee ++. Ambiance is artsy, funky, comfy hole in the wall coffee house....very anthesis to ubiquitous chains. Plenty of seats inside. +. Coffee is alright....a good place to get a pick me up if I was nearby but not a place I'd go out of my way to get a caffeine fix. +. Price is about average +. Service was fine =. Parking is street

Yelp
Joe's is an eclectic coffee shop with Intelligentsia coffee and abundant seating. The cold brew was fresh and delicious and my partner's latte was also on-point. The three-star review is due to the food, which was among the worst I have had from a coffee shop ever. I got a pain au chocolat, which is a straightforward pastry. The pastry was clearly old, and had been refrigerated at too low a temperature and hastily reheated. As a result the chocolate was scalding on the outside and rock-hard in the center. There was also way too much chocolate for the pastry, easily twice as much as I'd ever seen before.

Rob E.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years and this was a great local shop until the previous owners left. The new owner is unfortunately quite rude and unprofessional. While we were waiting to order AND waiting for our drinks, she repeatedly reprimanded the sole employee loudly and in front of all of the customers. It made me uncomfortable as a customer and probably embarrassed the poor kid behind the counter. Not sure I will continue to support Joe's considering the negative, in my opinion, changes. I gave two stars simply because their drinks are tasty, otherwise it would have been one. I see another reviewer experienced the same and had a great point: "...their coffee isn't that different than any other place, so they should focus on customer service." Exactly.
google avatar

Juno R.

Yelp
Coffees good! Thanks for putting a cement pot directly behind a parallel parking spot where no one can see it in their rear view. That was so quirky and creative! Not everyone has a backup camera guys :) I moved it by a foot but beware parking in front. I literally would not be surprised if they moved it back.

Yelp
I came here to do work on my computer and sip a nice hot coffee on a Sunday afternoon. It did not disappoint. I will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
It was mediocre. The coffee wasn't very strong. I got a chai tea latte too and that tasted like just plain milk. Nothing special

Yelp
If you can look past the surprisingly limited seating and dirty bathrooms, one will find a non-pretentious coffee shop that delivers robust coffee and decent noms. East Atlanta Village should only be so lucky. ***** I. FOOD & DRINK: I've tasted their Americano ($2.85) and cold brew ($2.85). The baristas know their coffee, and their beans (Intelligentsia) don't leave a burnt aftertaste. The bold coffee is something I'd like to drink every day. Also, consider trying one of their gingersnap cookies ($2.15). This dense muthaf**** packs lots of flava. II. SERVICE: Fast and friendly. They're also hipsters without the attitude. Me like. III. AMBIANCE & DECOR: They feature a lot of paintings from local artists on the wall (most of it for sale), and fill their room with mismatched furniture. Again, I wish they had more seating (lots of tables, but not a lot of chairs), but the coffee is good enough to win me over. IV. PRICES: Super affordable. You're not paying $4 per cup like some places. V. OTHER TIDBITS: - Joe's resides on a corner, but there's plenty of parking in the neighborhood behind it and occasionally spots on Flat Shoals Ave SE. - They also serve fruit smoothies. - Bagles are from Emerald City Bagels. VI. OVERALL: If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd probably be a regular.

Super chocolate almond vegan brownie, au lait, and Joe's iced coffee. This place is everything else in EAV pretends to be

Yelp
surprisingly comfy, friendly, and at home common ground thrill ! Coffee perfection and cheesecake to write home about. the artwork is interesting and fun. All sorts of Atlantans sharing common digs. Students studying, groups of friends, and parents with children, among g others lapping up the free WiFi, and some discussing life on couches, chairs, and desks! We had 2 lattes and shared o e slice of Reeses Cheesecake for $13.00! Will definitely return, a perfect place to relax and appreciate life!
google avatar

Yelp
I always enjoy Joe's. There's ample table space and the staff is friendly. The Americano (Medium Roast) was less than $3. This spot stays open late (I think 10pm) so I never feel rushed. PARKING: Street parking is free plus there's a public parking lot (also free) across the street behind other storefronts.

great coffee , and a quiet atmosphere if you want to go work. nice quirky art as well

Yelp
Tldr: Good quality coffee, unique decor, local art on the walls, great East Atlanta Village neighborhood with lots of wall art, and perfect location before discovering something else unique and exciting nearby I hadn't been here in years. I actually had a Human Rights Campaign meeting years ago and this was the perfect central location at the time. This was the pre-historic, pre-coffee-shop-fan-girl times. I didn't truly appreciate my coffee experiences. I was just lucky I found parking, didn't get towed, and got home safely. Now is a different story. Due to my other focuses at the time (Business, not driving much in atlanta, and getting work done) I never remembered JEACS as something exciting, but I saw it in a new light today. Acronyms are very trendy these days so I thought I would create one and maybe it'll go VIRAL in yelp reviews! No, viral doesn't stand for anything, it was just out of excitement. JEACS is an amazing coffee shop! The coffee here tasted amazing. I got their house cold brew and added some cream. I brought Justin and he got his favorite iced chai. Their iced chai is light on the spice, but a great alternative if you don't want coffee. When we walked into the coffee shop, Justin was really happy to see paintings from his favorite artist all over the walls. The art is local and fun. The staff, not sure if it was actually the Joe this coffee shop was named after, but he was really nice and helpful in figuring out what we wanted. The decor here is really fun, it gives off eccentric uniqueness that you can't find anywhere else in the area. This coffee shop is perfect if you want to go try the new sushi doughnut, or get some pizza, or go to a LGBT dive bar across the street called Mary's and/or a dance lounge that plays trap music nearby called The Graveyard. The neighborhood has a ton of art on the walls and that makes it an even more unique neighborhood. The area can be a little dangerous at times it seems, but I think if you just remain aware of your surroundings it is okay. I'm surprised that this is the first time I walked around this awesome gem neighborhood and excited that I got to experience it. I look forward to discovering new places in East Atlanta Village.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
A pretty nice spot. Could easily be a regular jam if I lived in the area. Came in on a quiet weekday afternoon, so not a lot of patrons were patronizing. People there seemed chill, there is adequate couch seating and table seating and cool modern-art type of power strip outlet towers. Good coffee.

Yelp
I've got nothing but great things to say about Joe's East Atlanta coffee shop! I've been visiting Joe's for the past five or six years and I've always had a great experience. A wonderful cup of Joe and Wi-Fi is "all I need to get by." Those were the famous words of Method Man and Mary J by the way. Joes also carries a case full of Yummy Pastries and desserts so if you want something to Nosh on while you're sipping and working you don't have to leave the building. You can even call ahead your order if you're in a hurry and just want to grab your coffee and dash out. The Baristas are everything! Never doubt that your cup of Joe will be great. I can't remember everyone's name but mooka is a neighborhood favorite.
google avatar

Vaibhavi U.

Yelp
Great coffee shop - ample space, friendly staff, great coffee and good bakery food items. The cheddar jalapeño bagel and pimento biscuit were especially good. The vibe is quirky and a bit grungy, not my favorite ambiance to spend a lot of time (studying etc) but I would 100% come back here for a quick breakfast!

Serena S.

Yelp
Pastries were stale and almost $5 each. Chai tea was pretty good though. Didn't seem like the coziest coffee shop, but it does the job of a grab n go coffee.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
I love this place so much! The staff are all super cool and friendly, and the menu is amazingly detailed with some unique drinks, all priced well. I don't remember what it was called, but my friend got a steamed milk with honey and vanilla and it tasted like straight heaven. I got a vanilla iced coffee and it was also amazing - it takes a new level of flavor for me to enjoy drinking black iced coffee. Their cups of black hot coffee are also huge and a very good deal for your money. The store is super cool, neat art and amazing music. I spend several minutes every time I'm there just looking around. Space is pretty limited if you're looking to sit and grind like I usually am, but the couches are very comfortable and the tables are big so you can usually squeeze in. Also, you can park diagonally from the shop in a lot further down Flat Shoals for free.

Yelp
#92 Need a good place to chillax, study, drink bitchin' coffee and hang out with super cool folks? Joe's East Atlanta Coffee Shop should be #1 on your list. I love, love, love this place. I came here the other day with some friends from Emory after a class. We wanted a place with wifi, goodies and caffeine. One of my peers suggested Joe's and being new to the area, I had no other suggestions. I was really glad he brought me here. I will become a regular for sure. The menu offers some fancy and not so fancy beverages, many sweet treats and other odds and ends. We grabbed a few coffees and a couple treats and a community table. The decor is super cool. Kind of vintage meets modernity. There are sofas that are super comfy, but we needed to study, so comfort was not needed. I feel like I might have run into random members of Nirvana here many years ago, it was so nostalgic. The service was top shelf, to match the product and the atmosphere. I will return and bring all my friends. Stephani Smiles for Joe's East Atlanta Coffee Shop ;) #lovefreewifiandgreatservice

Chesty P.

Yelp
This roomy coffee shop is in the heart of East Atlanta Village and roasts up Intelligentsia coffee beans and attracts a pretty diverse crowd: young, old, hipster, and everything in between. Joe's friendly aesthetic has exposed brick walls and iconic R. Land artwork on the walls and ceiling, the art on the wall is for sale. The furniture is a hodgepodge of donated classroom and old living room stuff that gives you the feel of a goodwill store. The coffee is great and the service is very fast, if you're serious about your coffee you will be pleased with this spot. Great place to work and street parking is free and easy to find.
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Stopped by while out running an errand to get a latte to go- I've been to Joe's one other time but it was years ago. Joe's uses intelligentsia beans- not too many ATL spots use them. They don't have oat milk so I went with almond- it was a pretty good iced latte and got the job done. I do find that sometimes intelligentsia beans can be a bit acidic. The space is so big with a ton of different styles of furniture. I like how chill and quiet it was. Parking is wherever you can find it in EAV- but during the day it isn't too shabby. Curious about their dessert case- might have to come back another time to give some of the items a try.

Yelp
This urban, rustic coffee shop is the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat or relax. There's beautiful art pieces covering the walls and ceiling ( perfect for insta shots). I ordered an iced chai latte and apple pie. Three words. Oh My Word. Best apple pie crust hands down. My latte was a pretty basic chai latte, but it was tasty! There are places to eat inside and outside. Outside is pet friendly so you can bring your furry friend there. There's also a smoking area outside in the back. The staff was very friendly and my order came out quickly. The place could be a little cleaner though, but it's not bad! I would definitely visit again.

Yelp
We really enjoy having this spot as a local coffee shop in EAV. Reliable good coffee. Friendly workers. Do not miss their baked goods, they're declicious cakes!
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
My fav coffee shop in Atlanta! Not too expensive, lots of comfy chairs, a cool back patio, always a chill, unpretentious atmosphere. Decent WiFi.

Julian C.

Yelp
False advertising, not opened during their posted hours, extremely inconvenient especially when walking
google avatar

Mick D.

Yelp
Another great spot in East Atlanta. A friendly face behind the counter, yummy baked goods, expertly made coffee drinks. Add some free wi-fi, and I'm a happy man. Joe's is comfortable. With plenty of good and comfy seating, some nice tables for heated technological discussions, and even a desk, if you're feeling a little executive in your actions. Good stuff. I'll happily recommend this place to anyone. Holler if you'll be joining me.
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
I've been coming to Joe's regularly for 6 years now. Their coffee has gotten me through 2.5 degrees, and I don't know what I'd do without this place! Joe's uses Intelligentsia espresso, which I've always found to be very solid. They have a good selection of cakes to choose from if you want something sweet, and there is plenty of seating with big tables if you really need to hunker down. The baristas are also very nice here. All in all, Joe's has a friendly, hole-in-the-wall vibe that you can't get at a chain. Pro-tip: The only tricky part is parking, but it's usually easy to grab a spot in the parking lot between Argosy and The Earl, which is right down Flat Shoals toward Moreland Ave.
google avatar

Jay M.

Yelp
A one of a kind is the best kind. If you've come here once you've most likely been back 100 times and that's just the way it is at Joes. You feel like family from your 1st time in. It's a neighborhood icon that doesn't bank on that, they bank on being friendly, serving great coffee, and having a causal and relaxed atmosphere. Keep up the amazing work guys.
google avatar

Ashley E.

Yelp
I really love their iced coffee! Nice and friendly employees. Favorite coffee in Atlanta so far.

Yelp
I've been to plenty of coffee shops in my life but am always eager to try new ones. On my latest trip to Atlanta I sought out a local place to decompress from my binge on Sublime Donuts and get my caffeine fix. What struck me about Joe's wasn't the coffee or even the setting (though it is a very comfortable and chill coffee house), it was the clientele it attracted. Officially distracted from what I should have been doing, I decided to people watch. Some of the better observations--- An incredibly tall guy wearing a Pac-Man t-shirt, but the Pac-Man was backwards. Wonder if that means he's running towards what's chasing him or he's just full and doesn't want to eat any more of the dots. Rather large lady in shorts with matching Uggs in a color that can only be described as neon salmon. Bright purple Michael Jackson-esk face mask too. Maybe it's for allergies, but gonna be hard to drink coffee with it on. The guy-girl pair of friends behind me discussing online dating at a volume only appropriate for a "DGAF if the whole world hears about my problems" attitude. To the chick: maybe you're single because you giggle way too much. To the dude: maybe you're single because you're always hanging out with chicks who giggle. Solution: date each other. Put together woman in a '50s style dress and a Mary Tyler Moore hair flip. Adorable, very cute dress. Only person in here with fashion sense. A sorta older chick wearing capri length sweats and a sweatshirt with a younger hippie dude with massive beard and purple shirt. Her son or is the dude just willing to overlook the sweats in the middle of a beautiful spring afternoon bc he's a gold digger? As for the coffee, it was sufficient in taste but too much milk in the cappuccino diluted it. Maybe I should have followed suit of the locals and ordered iced coffee. And the shop itself is cute, if a little dingy. Random art / decorations on the walls, including a fresco of a naked uncircumcised man, and windows that aren't windows on the brick wall (bars on the "windows" = unsafe neighborhood? haha), as well as an entire section of postings for local places and upcoming events. Definitely fits into the neighborhood, which is a little grungy but the furthest from anything chain-oriented imaginable. Plus, extra power strips and password-enabled wifi.

Yelp
Unfortunately post Covid, There wasn't any outdoor seating. I was hoping to enjoy an outdoor patio and get some work done, but couldn't at this time. They offered window service only. Street parking wasn't a problem. Coffee was good and fairly priced. Bagels and other snacks, are available.

Yelp
Good coffee, better baked goods. Staff are great. Iced coffee is great and espresso is better. Knowledgeable baristas

Yelp
Street parking. Hone your parallel parking skills. Looks hipster here but not trendy. Many different types of seating. Many different types of drinks, ranging from unconventional to conventional. Coffee, iced drinks, espresso, etc. I got the mint mocha which does not lack in mint aroma. Customer service is baseline. All in all, an OK place to hang out and read. It's not very unique.

Yelp
A coffee shop without a personality designed and manufactured in Seattle. I'm not dissing Starbucks, millions of people love it and you can't argue with the impact they've had on coffee as an industry. I'm just saying it's nice to have a coffee shop with local art, couches that don't match, wi-fi that's free, and locals meeting and hanging out together. If you need a caffeine fix and want a mental break from seeing the same drinks and interiors at every coffee shop, definitely give Joe's a try.

Yelp
Joe's fix probably the coolest most comfortable coffee shop I have been to in Atlanta. Their variety of seating caters to all types! Big comfy couches, bar tops, tables EVEN A WHOLE OFFICE DESK!!! The staff was incredible! Their customer service was so warm and friendly! Even though this was my first visit, they made me feel like I was a regular. Keep up the good work guys!

Yelp
On a whim I stopped here on my way home from a work trip in ATL to Birmingham. With all the high reviews I had to stop at Joes over starbucks. It was worth every penny. I'm going to do this review in 2 parts: 1st- the drink and food: My americano was delicious. Their espresso has a crap ton of flavor and is super tasty going down. I also had an everything bagel and it was yum. They have a rainbow cake that looks like a heavenly dream. I must try it next time. 2nd- the service: While I was there the 2 guys behind the bar where so nice and talkative, Manny and Anan. But the kicker is I left my debt card there and I didn't realize it until I was 3 hours and home in Birmingham! I call hours later and Anan said he looked all over social media to find me and was so happy to hear from me! He than offered to mail my card to me.. Free of charge. I am blown away by their service to go above and beyond to get me my card and not to mention to make a bad ass espresso drink. I love this place and will share this store for the next 100 days and beyond!

Yelp
Really good sweets and coffee sold here. I just moved to Decatur recently and was craving a bagel. Emerald is down the street, so we parked a few blocks to go there. On our way back, I noticed this shop. Officially a fan now! Got a perfectly made iced coffee that was so freaking great. Also grabbed an almond croissant which was great too. Looking forward to coming here again.
