"The last few weeks haven’t been so sweet for Alice Kim and her husband, owners of Joe’s Ice Cream in the Richmond District. On April 29, they hosted an “Ice Cream with a Cop” event at their popular dessert shop. According to SFGATE, the couple thought it would be a fun way for kids and families to chat with local police. But DoggtownDro, a Watsonville-based anti-police activist and rapper, showed up at the event with other protestors, including the family of Keita O’Neil who was killed by a member of the San Francisco Police Department in 2017. Things went downhill fast as protestors said the police only agreed to the event to make themselves look better and waste city resources. They called this practice “copaganda,” a term mentioned at a San Francisco Board of Supervisors hearing in the first week of May about the use of taxpayer funds for police communications." - Paolo Bicchieri

We passed by the place after our dinner at a nearby restaurant. The place was busy at past 8 pm! We tried its homemade ice cream. We tried different flavors: fudge, dalgona, earl grey, salty caramel. We enjoyed them all. This place also serves Korean sandwiches/burgers.

This cute ice cream shop in the Richmond neighborhood with colorful ice cream art painted on the store front caught my eyes after I grabbed dinner a block away. The shop has plenty special flavors to choose from that we’re not seen anywhere else in San Francisco. I had a root beer swirl and my husband had a ginger single scoop on a cone. Just like the creamy in Sunset, they have a tasting junior scoop so you can try a little bit of everything. You get to choose different kinds of waffle cones but the cones are just a bit typical comparing to their ice cream flavors. I also like that there are lots of tables to sit inside and they have burgers on the left side part of the store so you can always have another option if you don’t have a sweet tooth. It is definitely a place worth to visit if you happen to come by the Golden Gate Park.

Great place for ice cream. Solid, no frills, have a few specialty flavors and nice staff. Can’t go wrong with the rocky road or chocolate peanut butter. Have not tried any of the food from the grill side but they’re known for ice cream.

Had the pleasure of some good homemade ice cream from this shop. Two scoops of pure delight. Not too sweet where I was not able to finish. It was enjoyable enough to savor for a good while. Indoor dining for a cozy atmosphere. If it's good day there is a place outdoor to relax and chill with a delicious treat. Bring yourself, a friend some family or a special date for a day at this well deserved indulgence.

The tastiest ice cream and yummy food! The service is fast and friendly. Update. I drove to Joe's ice cream from East Bay because I was craving for their ice cream. I have been a fan of this shop and would always stop by whenever I am in SF. Yesterday, I ordered two flavors. I was disappointed to see that they put a ton of one flavor and almost none of the second :( And red bean mochi, which I had a lot, wasn't that good. Also, it is very hard to find parking...

Been a customer here since they were at their previous location across the street, and was sad to see them deal with that terrible landlord who forced them to move. At least they landed on their feet and the new location is doing well. Current customer service however is rude and not sure why. Simple request: a pint of of ice cream, half vanilla half chocolate. It's like i asked for the moon. "We can't do that" was the curt response, which made *absolutely no sense whatsoever*. I would basically have to spend TWICE the money and get two pints, one of each flavor. That was very underhanded and simply lacked any logic. Who knows why they said that, or who runs this place now. Years go by, things change I guess. Farewell Joe's, it was a good run.

Solid selection of ice cream to choose from, and a bunch of grill food items to boot. The Salted Caramel was salty and yummy and the Raspberry Cheesecake wasn't too raspberry and just enough cheesecakey. The Tokkochi fries were wild, a little hot for my taste but fun and great paired with ice cream. Super friendly employees and worked super quick.

After all these years (we’ve been going to Joe’s since 2001) this place is still amazing, reliably wonderful and just such a part of what we love about this neighborhood. So glad to see that the more things change, some things remain the same. We feel like we’re visiting with old friends whenever we stop by.
