Love the vibey atmosphere with the club music played at the perfect volume to still have a convo, amazing cocktails, and great street food inspired plates. Felt like a low-key Chicago take on Vegas’s Best Friend !!

A friend and I went to Jook sing last night, first let me say that the staff is so welcoming and friendly! We ordered a plethora of food to eat and drinks. We ordered the popcorn chicken, the curry fries, I had the sing num pang, my friend had the Dan Dan noodles. We also ordered the lychee martini, the coquito, the mango margarita and the spritz. We really enjoyed the ube French toast…it was delicious!

I was really excited about visiting Jook sing, however, the burger and chicken sandwich were just not my palette. I loved everything else like the vibe, decor, service and attentiveness of the staff. The two appetizers we started off with were also delicious like the popcorn chicken and Singapore char kway. I thought the chicken sandwich was overly dominated by the seasonings it had that it almost felt like a sweet seasoned sandwich. I still took it home and didn’t mention anything about it because I didn’t want to be or sound rude since this may just be a different cuisine that just didn’t suit my taste. Again, I still really liked this place and I hope to come back and try other items off their menu. Also the coffee cocktail was so good!

Really cool 😎 Friday night dining experience. The menu is nice and tight. Every dish is special. The burger was amazing, the popcorn chicken delectable, seasoned fries were on point. Very attentive owners and wait staff. DJ was jamming. Decor gave the eyes lots to explore. Got a to go Indonesia Internet. Definitely going back again.

Impressed by this new spot! The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, a rare experience these days. The menu felt very intentional and seems like they put a lot of effort into making something special. And that shown through the food. The egg rolls were a highlight, and the popcorn chicken was unlike the typical breaded bites. The seasoning was unique and memorable. Don't miss the egg rolls and popcorn chicken. The fried rice and lo mein noodles were also delightful. All food is shareable. Drinks were great as well. We got the slushie and the spritz. The vibrant decor was cool, with bright colors. Hoping Jook Sing thrives; it deserves to stay in the neighborhood for a long time!

this was one of the best meals I have had in Chicago recently! Everything we had was delicious. We ordered the crispy chicken bowl, dan dan noodles, and crispy tofu. We also had four drinks between two people and the prices were unbeatable as we came for their happy hour. The owner Josue also personally shook our hands and greeted us to ask how we were enjoying our food. I truly recommend this spot as well for the vibes/ambience, music, and hospitality of the staff. It was so good I actually ordered another of my meal to go!!! 10/10 recommend and will be telling everyone about this place!

The food, the service, the vibe! Everything was so good! Restaurant week menu was perfect. Everything tasted so good, and we couldn’t stop talking about the food as we walked home. Had a great experience at Jook Sing. It’s casual, and the atmosphere is fun and colorful. We got their restaurant week menu and everything was delicious. I was especially surprised by the chicken nuggets… so good. The shrimp curry and duck fried rice were also favorites. The ube French toast comes with ube ice cream, which is to die for. The service and cocktails were also great! Would recommend this place.

Hidden gem right outside river west across from Eckhart park over in west town. Came here with some friends, sat at the bar and got some great drinks and food! I got the Marzen lager which was light and smooth perfect for the hot day. To eat I got the drunken noodles and a box of popcorn chicken that was only 5 dollars! For five bucks it was a great amount of chicken and with the sauce was surprisingly the star of the show! Our bartender was also super nice and explained the menu in detail to us. Would definitely come back here next time I'm in the area and want to try out some of the cocktails and sandwiches next time!

I went here for a bite to eat with my friend, and the atmosphere was perfect for a casual dinner. The tables have a fun pattern, there's fun art on the wall, and the overall vibe of the place seemed relaxed with the promise of amazing food lingering in the air. The menu had few options, which can be bad if you like a lot of options or good if you struggle with too many. I went with the classic Jook Sing Burger, and my friend got the seasonal special "Singapore Dry Laksa." We started with the popcorn chicken as a shared appetizer. Our server asked if the table had any allergies, which I appreciate because I have a mild peanut one. When bringing out the dishes, he made sure to explain that the dried garlic bits (closely resembling peanuts) on the dry laksa were not, in fact, peanuts. Very considerate! A self-serve water station is set up at the back of the restaurant with full-sized reusable plastic cups, straws, and extra utensils. Popcorn Chicken - The chicken was not at all dry on the inside with a nice, crispy exterior. Their size was larger than the average popcorn chicken, but the irregularity in shape gave me the peace of mind that it hadn't come in a bag of frozen, uniform pieces. It was served with 2 sauces: a spicy and an aioli. Both sauces served different purposes and worked wonderfully. The aioli was my favorite! Singapore Dry Laksa - I can't say much on this one since it was my friend who ordered it, but it does come with some tofu in there (not mentioned on the menu). My friend did comment how it could be saltier, but better not salty enough than too salty! Jook Sing Burger - This came with a side of fries, though not many. The fries themselves were unique with a slightly sweet flavor. Yum! As for the burger, it tasted good as well. Much of it was just fluffiness from the bun, though. I do wish the bun-to-meat ratio was different as I wished to enjoy more of the beef. My only qualm is that the food is a bit pricey for what it is. If I'm paying $16.50 for a burger, I'd want a few more fries on my plate and/or more meat between the bun. Otherwise, a great experience!

Dankest of the dank & chillest of the chill, Jook Sing stands out for its refreshing takes on old favorites as well as new dishes that will be the favorites of tomorrow. Unless you're a regular at Malaysian, Singaporean, Taiwanese, and other street markets, you haven't experienced this type of thing before. It's not to be missed. Let's make sure we talk about the atmosphere, though: stylized and hype but not fake, feels intimate and energized even when it's not full. Service is a cut above, and you will enjoy the personalized touches and stories from a very invested staff. Music selection adds an auditory flavor to compliment the new school take on Asian cuisine. The touches don't stop at the macro, either; the smallest details are perfectly in sync with not only the concept, but its location in the city. For example, many dishes come out in compostable bowls made of pressed bamboo and laksa leaves from a small mom and pop business. They then compost them partially on-site. Pro tip: let Josue guide your cocktail adventure.

Saltiest meal I've had. Service was great and so was the ambiance. The food was just all salt. Popcorn chicken, burger, and Dan Dan noodles all salt and no other flavor.

A new spot on the corner of throop & chicago! This spot is beautifully decorated with neon lights, asian fusion decorations, & a fun mural wall. I took 8 people there on a friday night and it wasn't too packed. The service was friendly & attentive since we were the only large group eating at the time. The set up for the table was a bit tight & the serving sizes were shareable but definitely just to taste the food not get full. All food was served in disposable container which felt like fast casual food but the prices for how much food we got was a bit disappointing. All the food felt fusion. For example, the rice cakes that felt like nachos. I thought the food was well seasoned to the point of salty as someone with a high spice tolerance. My friend who has a low spice tolerance thought the food was sweat worthy spicy. All in all, a good spot to check out if you wanna do a bar crawl along chicago ave.

This is my boyfriend and I's go-to casual dinner spot! Located in West Town, Jook Sing has such cool vibes, friendly staff, an in-house DJ some nights, and amazing food. We always get the Internet noodles. The portion sizes are very generous and the noodles are so filling. The egg on top is perfect too! We always get some drinks to start and I would recommend the milk tea! I would also highly recommend their popcorn chicken dish, as the sauce that comes with it is amazing! The only thing I don't really like here is the dessert. We had a milk bread type dessert that I think has a pandan cream on the side. I thought the bread was a little bit tough and overall a bit too sweet for me! Overall, a perfect spot for a casual night out!

I had being hearing about this night-market for the past couple of weeks and just had to try it out. We tried a few food items, best being the fried rice. It had the perfect amount of heat kick. They make their own duck sauce which is on the sweeter side, not bad at all. If you're getting a cocktail I'd say try the Spritz, it's like a Moscow mule with gin. There's a late night happy hour on which includes Saturdays which is always nice 10pm - close. Just a heads up, none of the chairs have backs on it, if you're like me and need back support while eating. Over all the place is a cool little spot, no reservations needed. Check it out!

Really good food and loved the ambiance of the place. I went with my friend on a Tuesday evening right when they opened and there wasn't anyone else eating there. Food wise we got the popcorn chicken, internet, num pang, and the toast dessert. The popcorn chicken was juicy and had good sauces, the internet was yummy, and the num pang was smoky and delicious. I didn't care for the dessert. I haven't had southeast Asian street food before so I can't compare it but overall I enjoyed my experience. I'm docking a star because he messed up splitting our check and charged my friend the full check and charged me half of the check. However, once we realized and told him, he fixed it (hopefully).

This is the only fun cool hip restaurant in Chicago. Amazing Saturday vibes - good amount of busy, there is a sick DJ, amazing and piping hot dishes. World class picks from street food hits, one of the only places to find tea leaf salad in the city let alone the Midwest. Great with friends for a night out. Extensive drink and beer menu with great soju / 2 beers deal. Great addition to Chicago Ave

Unfortunately I have mixed reviews. The positive is the service which was really quick and friendly. The negatives were the food. We ordered 4 different dishes and all were not great. The chicken wings had feathers still attached and though the flavor was good there wasn't a ton of meat. All the dishes were pretty salty and quite small for the prices. Nothing was terrible but nothing was great. They serve everything in Togo style/paper plates which is okay but just felt weird for how expensive everything was. It's also fairly hard to eat things when they aren't on a platter and just served in a bag. The decor inside is cool but it feels a bit like cafeteria setting for some reason. I think had it been half the price everything would have made more sense but it just felt disjointed.

First time coming here. Everything was very good! We had the chicken wings, egg rolls and the internet. The internet was my absolute favorite part of the meal following the chicken wings. My only critique is the sauces that come with the egg rolls. But the egg roll themselves were super good. The server was extremely knowledgeable with drinks and food. The vibes are on point here. Definitely worth coming and checking it out!

A group of friends and I visited Jook Sing over the weekend and tried out an assortment of dishes. It was our first time at the venue and noticed how friendly and inviting the staff were. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and taken care of. Our waitress was attentive and would often check on us throughout the meal. We opted for family style, sharing the meal together. I would recommend this if you want to sample multiple options and if you're with a group. Jook Sing brought the Asian fusion theme to its dishes and we really enjoyed the flavors. We appreciated the popcorn chicken. Well cooked and crunchy outside, with a soft tender and juicy inside -- leaving you craving more. We also got the Chow Mein and fried rice. Both dishes complimented each other so well. Would for sure come back! It's BYOB, feel free to hit up LUSH down the street for a drinks.

My friend and I came here because the food looked amazing and the interior was vibrant. The staff were friendly and welcoming but the food was awful. The "internet" was just basic indomie that was overcooked and soggy. The rice dish that I ordered was wayyyyyy too salty. It was inedible. We barely took a few bites. They don't have any cocktails. We also ordered the chicken popcorn, which was the only thing we could eat. We told the bar manager about the saltiness and he offered to get us another appetizer but we didn't wanna eat there anymore. They did give us a 20% discount, but that was the least they could do for over priced noodles and salty rice. I personally would not go back, unless it's for the chicken popcorn once their bar is open. The service was 5/5 Interior 5/5 Marketing 5/5 Food 2/5

This place is SO good! The vibe is casual, super colorful, and fun. The staff is so friendly and attentive. One of our orders was incorrect and another had an unlisted ingredient included which were allergens for our party. They fixed it immediately and were very apologetic. It wasn't our first time here and definitely won't be our last. I crave their special brand of fusion for DAYS afterwards.

Great spot to get a cocktail and Asian street food. Would HIGHLY recommend the burger and the popcorn chicken. The burger is cooked with this Australian butter that gives it a very unique but savory flavor. All of the cocktails are good but if you sit at the bar just tell Jorge what flavors you like and let him get creative, he's incredibly talented as a mixologist. Also has a DJ on the weekends(nights) if you are looking for that vibe

Went to Jook Sing for their soft launch a few weeks ago and loved it! I dined with a vegan - we had the Internet (YUM), the Cassava Fries, and the (veganized) fried rice. Serving sizes were plentiful, and the food was delicious. For drinks, my date had the old fashioned, and I had the spritz - both very good, didn't love the glass mine was served in but not a big deal. Our host and server were so friendly and excited - it made dining there a delight! They also have single serve bathrooms with perfect lighting and decor for mirror selfies. I can't wait to go back now that the restaurant is fully up and running - huge value add to the neighborhood!

Food was tasty. They recommend sharing plates but you can also get your own main and split apps. Service was amazing! Super attentive and friendly; the server gave us free shots because we were going out afterwards.

Such a wonderful neighborhood spot in West Town! Fun vibes, drinks and amazing food! Loved the popcorn chicken and everyone is sooo nice!

honestly I was so excited to try this place because I love a pan Asian/Asian fusion place but this was pretty disappointing. they don't have their liquor license yet which is fine cause they're only 2 weeks old but online cocktails seem to be a big part of their thing so that was kind of disappointing. they did have fun non alcoholic drinks, I got the teh c peng which is a unique South East Asian style tea drink and I liked it, it wasn't too sweet and pretty refreshing. my friend got the slushy which was interesting, it tasted like curry but sweet. my biggest gripe is just that the food was so mid and also expensive. the salt and pepper tofu was ok, but for $11 you get this tiny take out box, you could just go to MCCB and get an entire plate of way tastier salt and pepper tofu. the Internet was literally just indomie (which is an Indonesian instant noodle). which like, fine it says that on the menu but I just thought it would be indomie prepared in a way that I couldn't do at home? like you can literally buy indomie for $0.75 and they're charging $14 to put on egg on it (which I already do at home) and put some overly salted corned beef on it. also almost everything was over salted. IDK overall just disappointing and way way overpriced.

Chef Christian Sia has done a great job of imagining fusion Asian street food in a fun atmosphere. The ninja turtle, X Men anime theme wall is worth the visit and the food won't disappoint. The custom blended cocktails are fun too. Worth the visit to this friendly corner pub!

Great food, great cocktails, great service, great atmosphere! Highly recommend - food was excellent. We got the salt and pepper tofu, popcorn chicken, fried rice, and char kway teow. Everything was very good, especially the popcorn chicken and char kway teow. We also got the Spritz and Old Fashioned cocktails, which we enjoyed - probably liked the Spritz a bit more, but the Old Fashioned was a solid twist on a standard old fashioned. Overall would return - great new West Town spot!
