The Best Korean Restaurants in Seattle

"This Lynnwood spot is one of the more popular places for bulgogi (marinated meat typically grilled with onions and peppers). One of its specialties is ttukbaegi bulgogi, which comes with sliced rice cake, vegetables, and glass noodles cooked in beef rib broth, served in an earthenware pot. This and a generous serving of banchan make for a massive meal already; an additional order of mandu (Korean dumplings, steamed, grilled, or fried) will have diners feel like they’re feasting." - Jay Friedman

It was pretty busy when we got there so I mentioned to my wife that the service would probably be impersonal, even more so than usual than some (authentic) Asian restaurants. And it was, which didn't thrill my (Asian) wife since she had a couple of questions she wanted answered. I rated it higher than she would have, because she's on the fence about ever going back due to the service. All that said, the food was decent, came out quickly, and they changed the grill grates a couple of times and were attentive while we ate for the most part. I'll go back sometime.... If my spousal unit agrees 🙂

TLDR--Pros: - Consistent Tasty Side Dishes: The side dishes are the best you're going to get in the area. - As per any Korean restaurant, unlimited refillable side-dishes. - Most of the items on the menu are tasty. (In our opinion.) - Rice is almost never disappointing. - Meat is tasty. (Pro Tip: If you're doing KBBQ, grill a single slice of meat first to see if the cut is good. If not, ask for new cuts.) TLDR--Cons: - Watch out for busy hours if you're really hungry as it can be hard to get a spot. (As per any restaurant.) - Bring you own reusable to-go containers/bag - The lady in the high ponytail is often agitated? We also had a disagreeable experience with the lady with the high ponytail. The lady with the high ponytail yelled audibly towards her coworker--the lady with short hair. You could tell the lady with short hair was left distraught. The lady in high pony tail is usually mean and agitated but today she yelled. It can be difficult to get a spot when the place is busy but that's typical as per any restaurant. The to-go boxes are self service. I would recommend bringing your own reusable to-go containers though, as the containers are one-time use.

I drove pretty far just to try the food here based on reviews. It's authentic traditional Korean food and it is so amazing! The service was super fast and the ladies are so sweet They checked on me frequently. I often bring friends here as the meats are always fresh. When it's not too busy the waitresses will grill the food for you. But since there have been 2 of them the last 4 years I have been going, they try to manage a full house. So be patient with them. The pork belly always comes out super hot and delicious! The egg soup is so fluffy and flavorful. The beef brisket and the short spare ribs are also another favorite to grill. They serve extremely large portions. There is plenty of banchan and it was probably the freshest tasting ones in town.

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. On the plus side, it offers some authentic Korean food with generous side dishes, with reasonable price. Unfortunately the service went from good to bad to terrible, in my last three visit. The first problem is store hour - although 10 PM is the official store closing hour on their website, I came in at 9:15 PM and got rejected, because the front desk claims they stop taking order at 9 PM. I have never heard of any other restaurants rejecting customer one hour before store closing time. This is simply not acceptable. Yesterday I decided to give it one more try, and that was a terrible mistake. The service virtually did not exist, I had to ask for everything, from menu to ordering to billing. The worst part is they did not seem to care, even after my complaint. Definitely will not come back again.

Google
I come for the banchan. There are at least 10 varieties and they're great. Service could be hit or miss. It's been 50/50 for me. They have AYCE bbq on weekdays, thought it's kinda limited variety, 2 types of pork belly and one beef brisket. Get the seafood pancake. It's the best I have had. It's actually cooked and crispy unlike many places that have undercooked pancake.

I used to pick up food occasionally here. I came by today to get my partial refund of the order from a month ago. I ordered one galbitang and yukgaejang extra spicy. They both tasted very bland that day. I called to get money back and the lady who I spoke to said I can not get refunded back to my credit card. I was like so what do you want me to do? I do not want it to remake it or anything. She said that's the only choice and I was like ok. Since then, I did not pick up the food at all and decided to call again to get it refunded. New lady picked up the phone, she said come Wednesday who can refund and I was like how the heck can I wait until Wednesday which doesn't make sense. She could have told me that earlier or that day when the incident happened. Put that aside it's a new lady, fine I will call Wednesday. I called on Wednesday, she said give her the card information because I couldn't come inside the store. I called her back since I was driving, she said "I talked to the boss about the refund, you only mentioned about yukgaejang that was bland." In fact, my whole order was bland and I was being nice to just get the refund for the one of the item at that time like forget about the other one whatever. But, when I called on Monday who picked up the phone I said refund me the whole order. Then, she said no only the yukgaejang she can refund and I need to come in to get it refund ONLY by cash. I got pissed off and drove back to the resturant and got the refund. The owner said bring in the receipt which I had a bank receipt and showed them the proof. She said "I do not want to argue with you because I do not even want to take customer like you. Don't live shamefully." Then she blocked my number. They just made the situation worse then it should have been because if they could have just refunded me the order on that first day I called there would be no problem. I would have been chill, until they made the situation like this. But thanks to the owner that made me express my review of the experience like this "shameful." During the phone call, they are not even understanding what I'm saying so fine just give me the refund on one item at this point, I do not care and I just left. Please be responsible at the first time visit to the future customers. :-)

Google
So many banchans! Nice perk of this restaurant. The short ribs were cooked perfectly and the soup of beef, bean sprouts, egg, and kimchi flavoring (without kimchi) was decent. Ok service on a busy Saturday evening. Be warned, there is no spare ribs entree, just the family portion for $34. Split between two people, it worked. Have dined before, will come again.

Small place and very authentic atmosphere. But my lord first time here and I fell in love with the mussel soup and ban ban chicken. Loved it. Very welcoming people. New favorite spot

Yelp
Food was good- plenty of side dishes. We ordered a bundle; there were plenty of food for the two of us. Service was nice- the waitresses help us with the bbq to avoid overcooking our food. The table that we had was nice and spacious; parking was easy. Overall I would come back again.

Yelp
I have been coming here many times throughout the years. Always feel wonderful being taken cared by the friendly waitresses here. Today we went around 3:45pm for early dinner. We were sat at a spacious table. The bbq combo we ordered came with many side dishes, steamed egg, and flavorful soybean paste soup. I particularly noticed the soup came with quite many meat chunks which was wonderful. The beef and pork belly were good quality. We also enjoyed the soju that came with the combo. Overall, we were very satisfied with the consistently good quality at this restaurant! Parking was easy as there was a parking lot.

Yelp
Service is fast but depending how full the place is. They do try to make things happen asap. Great foods but be very careful how you order. The banchans alone are superb and mouth watering. Everything we ordered are so delicious! Great place for a family bonding and even for date nights. We always order the combo b. Meats are well prepped and the abundance I tell ya. Great place. Can it break your wallet? Yes! Easy 400. for a family of 8. Well let's be real, we also love their beers and soju. Haha! Go get yours! The ultimate favorite is the gopchaeng soup. Don't judge if I killed the name. Ask about it. It's wonderful and very satisfying.

Yelp
First thing that needs to be said is that they seem to be always understaffed and the servers overworked. If you go there with low expectations for service you will be rewarded with very good food. They serve good quality meats and their marinades and sauces are packed with wonderful flavors. The Black Cod with Daikon is pricey but it's especially delicious. The Bulgogi here is pretty special too. The ribeye beef is tender and sauced perfectly. Go for the food and tolerate the service. It's worth it.

Yelp
Another yummy authentic korean lunch with my korean momma. Want quality homemade korean food? Come here. Want budgety all you can eat (not the cream of the crop meat picks) non-authentic kbbq? Then try some place else lol. I love this mom and pop restaurant so much. I have been coming here since I was 5 and will continue showing my love for this place and their yummy food. There is a reason why you see so many Korean people eating here all the time! Because it's really that good.

Yelp
Even amongst our close friends and family members, when we talk about Ka Won, we are deeply divided. The division mostly stems from the fact that their waitresses are so busy that they barely have time to give each table proper attention and service. They are constantly short staffed in the main hall and I cannot even imagine how one or two waitresses can handle so many tables all at once on a daily basis. I grew up working in my parents' restaurant and I can clearly see how short staffed these poor waitresses are. So, when I dine in, I usually say a few words of empathy to them as I offer to just take a water pitcher for our table so that they can attend to other things, I always find them to be grateful and they even give us a big smile. Sometimes, that's all it takes to elevate your dining experience. We love Ka Won's food. Their banchans (side dishes) are consistently savory and feel very much homemade. We have come for their mandoo hotpot, which is amazing, and we keep coming back for their Korean BBQ selections. Their quality of meats, the marination, and the resulting taste are all top notch. They are usually busy. The ambiance feels like a very busy Korean restaurant with waitresses with limited English. Please give them a bit of patience, empathy, and understanding.

Heroes for t.

Yelp
Even if you spend $200, they will charge you 35 cents for a take out box for your leftovers. Ridiculous! Others tips- food was meh and they hover over you so you aren't sharing food unless your entire party orders bbq. As the vegetarian, I found this offensive. They were so worried we would try to take food home with us with the all you can eat bbq because piles of pork were piling up. It just didn't taste very good according to my family. They kept coming around and flipping the meat on the grill. Isn't the whole point to have that experience cooking your own food? But in spite the hovering and constant being reminded about their rules, they don't refill your water or banchan. They made us feel like we were stealing something or trying to go around their rules. Never again. Zero stars if I could.

Yelp

Yelp
Ka Won has been a family favorite ever since my dad got stuck in a snowstorm and ended up finding refuge (and hot Mandu soup!) here over 5 years ago. My family came here last week to get our Korean food fill. We ordered: the beef dumpling soup, the beef bulgogi, the seafood and beef spicy tofu stew, the japchae, and the pajeon (seafood pancake). Our total came to around $115 not including tip. While Ka Won's food is generally good, the real draw here is the banchan.- complimentary Korean side dishes They give you at least ten types and you can always ask for refills too! Their banchan includes: potato salad, anchovies, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cake, sesame bean sprouts, rice cake, and a couple of other ones I can't remember right now. Regardless, the banchan variety and quality can't be beat here. With that said, a couple of the dishes were honestly a little bit disappointing this past time. The BEEF BULGOGI was missing the charred KBBQ flavor (note that we did not barbecue ourselves, this was one of the pre-cooked dishes you could order). It was flavored alright, but nothing extraordinary. I'd give this dish a 3.5/5. The SEAFOOD and BEEF SPICY TOFU STEW lacked heat. It also lacked the egg that you usually crack into the boiling soup. Ive definitely had better Soondubu before and so I would give this dish a 2.75/5. The dishes that we liked were... The BEEF MANDU SOUP- the dumplings are HUGE and juicy. This has been my dad's go-to dish since his snow storm incident. The PAJEON (SEAFOOD PANCAKE)- this "appetizer" is huge and has a variety of seafood mixed in a crispy and eggy pancake mix with green onions. Paired with a savory/spicy/sour dipping sauce, it is absolute Heaven. The JAPCHAE was the winning dish this past visit. It had tender piece of bulgogi and a variety of vegetables. The noodles were also well marinated in a sweet and savory sauce and had just the right amount of chew. Service was good. We were quick to get our dishes, but they forgot our silverware initially. We were also short one cup of tea. However, they were busy (every table was taken) and so it's understandable. As far as atmosphere, it's clean and casual. Tables are spaced enough to get through, but not overly cramped. One thing worth mentioning is that they only have one bathroom, so you might be waiting a while. Overall: 3.5/5 for food, 4/5 for service , 4/5 for atmosphere

Yelp
Great traditional korean flavor and tasty food. This has been a favorite spot in north Lynnwood. The staff works hard and gives detailed service!

Yelp
Very racist servers and people here! They charge you for wrong orders and keep giving you wrong orders, 18% tip was charge right away. They even make me get my own to go box. Ask for a tea they say they don't serve that today but see the other having one. Only welcome korean. I say to the owner your service sucks and she say thank you.(the older ajjuma) You can feel they don't want to serve you. I feel so disappointed even travel to this place. I will never ever coming back to this crappy racist place ever again.

Yelp
My friends and I drove from Kirkland to visit this place and while it was good, the value of the food itself is not worth it compared to other korean bbq places around the area. We were a party of 5 and we got one of their group bundles plus 2 individual items. The servings were pretty small in relation to the price and our total is around 35 dollars per person including tip which is pretty close to an AYCE meal. The food itself was good but it does not stand out for me to point out anything. However, the service and the vibes of this place is pretty nice. Since there's not a lot of people, it's a great place to catch up with some friends and just stay at the table to chat. Parking was also easy! It's in like a city center area so there's a lot of free parking.

Yelp
I get why people give bad reviews . The place is not that hygienic and the service not that great. BUT! the food is awesome! if you like homey soupy food and intestines: Heokyumso Jeongol! I never tried the other stuff though. Lots of people come for the Kbbq too

Yelp
The review gossip about the restaurant servers is hilarious! Truth is, it is an anomaly to find great service in any Korean restaurant, especially for BBQ service. That said, knowing how to smooze here with the staff is key for the attention everyone complains for here. Treat them kindly and you will get some "suh-be-suh" ;) The raw meat quality is arguably the freshest in town. Pajun Pancake packed with seafood. Well stocked with a variety of Korean beer and soju. Banchan assortment is newly made and not overly salty. The grill is old school porcelain where you can keep the meat on warming without building up burnt char. Specialty ~ the "old kimchee". A secret special here if you know to ask for it. Fermented deliciously while retaining the crisp radish bite. So good. Ga Won is not date night decor. No individual table ventilation so your contacts will dry out from the blasted air conditioning. Just suited for meat lovers wanting a carnivore night.

Yelp
Ordered heokyumso, doganitang, and haemulpajeon. The heokyumso was good but it feels like this place got hit with inflation harder than other places, lots of vegetables with only a little bit of meat. Flavorwise it's still quite good. Can recommend the doganitang, great for my kids. My wife liked the pancake the best.

Yelp
I've been looking for Korean bbq places in the Lynnwood area, so I decided to visit Ka Won with some friends. We originally made a reservation for 8 but we had some last minute cancellations, so we ended up with a party of 5. The quality of the food was great, I enjoyed everything we ate. We ordered a combo, dwaeji bulgogi, and haemul pajeon and everyone left stuffed. There was so much banchan. I wish we could've gotten more water and tea but the six person table was too full with plates for them to leave a pitcher with us. Service was typical for Korean restaurants iykyk. Unfortunately the price/person did end up a bit high here. The location is very convenient with plenty of parking in the lot too. Overall I'd give 3.5/5.

Yelp
I've been here many times in the past. Recently I went and the flavors were completely different and not to my taste. Assumption is new owners. I am actually here again, to give it another chance and see that the menu is completely different. But the flavors are better, not great but better. My problem is the service. It used to be great. We were seated quickly with tea. Order taken promptly and food came out ok. Then radio silence. Nobody came to check on us. Oh, a server walked right by our table to ask if the table behind us needed anything and walked away. Finally I flagged one down to ask for something and she said sure, she will get back to me. New owners could be working out kinks with the staff, it is also Memorial Day so I know it's busy because everyone I know comes in after a round of golf. But damn, to walk by to ask if the table behind us needs anything and ignore us is saying a lot. Ah well. There are plenty other Korean places to go around here it's just sad since this used to be a regular spot. Not anymore.

Yelp
We were hungry for Korean BBQ early on New Year's Eve and Ka Won BBQ was recommended by a friend. The restaurant was in the back of a strip mall but easy to find "close to Grease Monkey" following GPS. Parking was easy. We received a warm welcome at 5 pm and asked if we wanted to BBQ or order from the kitchen. We chose to BBQ at the table and were given a very nice and clean table. The restaurant was very clean and the menu easy to read. The restaurant was well lit and we were made to feel very comfortable. The server was very helpful and showed us a list of options. She also brought large glasses for hot tea. Beer and other beverages were available but we stayed with the tea. We were very satisfied with our meal and experience, and the bill was about $90 which was reasonable for the quantity and quality and the excellent service. They apparently have AYCE during the week and many other items. We plan to return and try more beyond the BBQ. We chose two galbi offerings with different marinades, and the server began to heat the grill. She brought ten banchan plates, tofu soup, and white rice, and quickly followed with the meat. Everything was fresh and looked good. The server prepared the meat and put the first meat on the grill. She cut the meat very well with scissors and made sure all the pieces were properly cooked. Everything was excellent. The server took good care of us and we had refills of a couple of banchan plates. She cut up and watched us cook the second meat. We had very adequate quantity and excellent quality of everything and even took a small amount of meat and banchan home.

Yelp
Went last night for what's likely to be my last time. Arrived around 7. Stood at the door for at least 20 minutes waiting to be seated. After being seated, we ordered right away (because we could tell how backed up/scattered they seemed to be) to try to speed things along. Silly us. Food finally arrived around 8 p.m., a full hour after we walked through the front door. Multiple tables seated after us had their food before us. No attempt at first to explain the delay to us or to (re)set expectations. In fact, we barely got any attention at all. Finally a server came over when she saw how visibly unhappy we were and said they were busy but that our food should arrive shortly. It finally did ... and it was underwhelming. Flavors were bland and one of the dishes arrived with hardly any meat in it. Having eaten Korean BBQ at more than a dozen places, I have good sense of what to expect, and this meal didn't meet expectations. Between the poor service and underwhelming food, there's no reason to return when there are so many other, better Korean BBQ options in the area.

Yelp
Difficult to find this casual Korean restaurant or signage from the street, even with GPS. Go around to the back by the right side of the Grease Monkey shop to see it. Above average portions here. Food & Price B5 GwangEo MokSal JoRim halibut neck & daikon simmered in a spicy sweet garlic soy reduction. Enough for 2-3ppl Arrives boiling mad. $32.99. 4* D16 Al JiGae fish egg soup with assorted vegetables in a very hot spicy broth. Big for 1 person. $17.99. 4* BanChan refreshingly not salty Service nice and no issues Located -GPS doesn't direct you into the back plaza so it is easier to use GPS instead to find the Grease Monkey shop at 15006 Hwy 99, Lynnwood. Turn into the driveway on the north/right side of the Grease Monkey shop. Continue onto the plaza right behind it. This restaurant is the 1st one in the plaza.

Yelp
This is our go-to Korean Restaurant when we are in the neighborhood, you can say that we purposely come here when we are traveling down South and make a special trip to enjoy the food here! It is that Good! As you can see the Ban Chan varieties are outstanding! Each one is made of care and they all have individual taste and texture! No matter you come by yourself or with a group you will always get at least 10 different kinds with your meal! Our favourites: Beef Bone Soup & Spicy Soft Tofu!! I am already looking forward to our trip down South again!!

Yelp
My friends and I wanted to soak up a night of fun so we agreed on Kbbq. Ka Won offered a special with various meats, soup, rice, tea, and banchan for $100 and after comparing the process á la carte it made the most sense. The food is fresh whether raw or cooked and they were extremely patient with my friends' lack of grill skill. Bring good company, feast, and don't bitch about price because this is typical for family style dining.

Yelp
I used to go Ka won very often. 2 person set comes with great portions of food and i love the salad that comes with. But as i went month ago their menu changed completely didnt find that what i used to order. Anyway love their food

Yelp
I hadn't been to a KBBQ place for a year or so before trying Ka Won, and it didn't disappoint!! The Yangnyeom Kalbi was my favorite for sure--the meat was very tender and the marinade was subtle but perfect. Our hostess was very attentive and sweet, and also refilled our banchan 2-3 times without us having to ask. Will have to come back next time I'm in the area :-)

Cindy W.

Yelp
The meat is dried, the service is OK. They charged us (4 adults and I kid) more than 20% tips. My friends (5 adults) seat next to us and their bill didn't add on any tips. I came up to the cashier and asked why they changed us more than 20% tips. She said they charged 20% if there are more than 6 persons. I told her we only have 4 adults and 1 kid. She was upset and void the total bill but did not refund the tips to me. This is my first time eating there and will ever go back there.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here on a Monday night. There was only one individual waiting tables but they did a fantastic job giving us quick and attentive service. We did the brisket and pork belly bbq, both were delicious and we were given way more than we could eat. The tab came to about $25/person before tip. I will absolutely come here again, next time with more people so that we might have a chance of eating all the 10 sides, soup, and meat that is provided in the experience.

Yelp
A very well-deserved upgrade from my previous review from years prior. I'm Korean, and I stand firm in my declaration that Ka Won's KBBQ is unbeatable in the greater Seattle area. The quality of their meat is noticeably better, and the 10+ side dishes are unmatched in both quantity AND quality. We usually opt for the brisket & pork belly every time, and it's always incredible! Ka Won is truly in a league of its own when it comes to quality, authenticity, and taste. Their non-BBQ dishes are also worth a mention as they've never led me astray, and I say this since my family and I have tried probably everything on this menu over the years. Service has improved dramatically--the main waitress is SO sweet and attentive! I'll be doing my damn best to visit often in these covid times, as I need Ka Won in my life, ALWAYS.

Yelp
Never coming back to this crappy place again. We drove all the way from Bellevue to here. It saids 9 pm closing time at Google map and we got there at 820 pm. The lady said the kitchen is closed. I asked her what time the kitchen normally close and she said 830. Why put the closing time at 9 pm if you not serving after 820. Horrible service.

Joy Y.

Yelp
The service is really poor. We ordered two soups and found multiple human hair in both soups. We asked for a new one. We waited there for a check for long time and no one came to help. I barely gave 1 start review to any restaurant but this time, Ka Won is truly disappointed. We still gave 10% tips, but we will never came back again. NOT RECOMMENDED

Yelp
Our family has been going here for many years & I'm normally not fazed because Korean restaurants are pretty notorious for bad service. But our last visit was the last straw. Covid has made it difficult to find help, but if the owners knows they only have 2 waitresses, they shouldn't seat a full restaurant, then act nonchalant when customers are unhappy!!! We booked reservations for 10 and were all jammed into 2 separate tables, meant to seat 8 people. Since Korean BBQ is grilled at the table and served is family style, we decided not make it a big deal. It took a while for the waitress to come take our order but quickly brought the usual array of side dishes that accompany Korean BBQ. However, we all realized our 2 tables wouldn't have enough room for all of the silverware and side dishes, much less the meat to grill, entrees and rice that would be coming. We asked to spread out but was told the empty table next to us was reserved, so we were stuck. We made do by combining side dishes, overloading the table grill with raw meat and even stacking empty dishes on the ledge behind the tables, between two potted plants, on the floor. As we waited, we noted there were only 2 waitresses for the ENTIRE restaurant of 30-35 tables which were filling up quickly. Uh oh. As we ate, we asked to refill two side dishes and "samjjang" which is a key seasoning paste eaten with the various meats. The poor waitress looked frazzled and said she'd be back. We sympathetically watched her running around overwhelmed by all of her other tables. Suddenly my brother in law let out a loud yell and bolted out of the table. He said he had just been burned! Sure enough, there were grease splatters on his pant. I bent over the table & saw there were no drip pans to catch the grease!!! WTF- dangerous! We had to shuffle seats to make sure our kids weren't in the "splatter zone", though my brother, bro in law and I did get burned a few more times. It was SO disappointing to find the steak pieces were mostly fat and gristle, the pork belly was cut way too thick (must grill longer = the meat tough to chew). The flank steak had thick streaks of fat throughout which is considered a lower quality/cheaper cut. Our grilled fish entree was still 1/2 raw! Eww!! Forward another 20 mins and got our additional entrees, (but no refills) but then run out of most of our side dishes. We again asked for refills, and also for water since we hadn't been given any drinks when we were seated. Hell no would we put in our usual order for beer and Korean rice wine! Another 20 mins later and we're completely out of side dishes and can't continue to cook the meat at our table because the grill pans are coated in burned grease and need to be replaced. This is typical of Korean BBQ's. Because of the heat of the grill pans, and the need for a replacement, it's not something that a diner could/would do. We flagged down our waitress and asked her nicely to help us replace the grill pans. And for our refills please. And if nothing else, water for the kids PLEASE. She nodded and hurried off towards the kitchen so we thought we'd finally get what we asked for. We waited sadly and tried to eat the meat that had already been cooked but without any side dishes or rice. The waitress finally came by with one pitcher of lukewarm water and some small metal cups. We divided the cups and carefully rationed it out knowing we wouldn't get anymore. At one point, my sister and I even conspired to go back to the kitchen prep area and bring back our own side dishes. My sister finally did get up and brought back three cans of sodas for our poor, still thirsty kids. It a blessed relief when we finally managed to grill/burn the rest of our meats on the now blackened and smoking overly grease filled grill pans that never got changed. We had lost our appetite by then, when low and behold, the waitress finally came by with refills for four of our side dishes (though we never got any more "sammjang" despite our many, many requests). It felt like an insult to finally get refilled side dishes AFTER we were done eating. We got up to leave, it was clear to the waitress that service had been horrible and we were unhappy. I think my sister even commented as she paid the bill, but no one even apologized. I hope they're happy with the $450 + tip (yes, my sister tipped because it wasn't the waitresses fault she was overwhelmed) because that's the last time they'll get business from our family. Oh- and the table next to us that was "reserved" never had any customers seated there. Sad to think we could've used it and had room to enjoy our subpar food and terrible service.

Yelp
This restaurant is recommended by a Korean staff in our hotel. She told me that this is her go-to place, the rating in Yelp is low because of the service but the food is authentic. We ordered E4. Goapchang Jeongol and A3. Yangnyeom Kalbi. We are a group of 4 adults and 1 2 years old. E4 is really good, but only if you like beef intestines and tripe. A3 is so so, I have better one in California. The baby has Kalbitang which is also so so in my opinion as we have much better one in California again. I meant to give 3.5 stars overall - 4 star for E4 and 3 stars for A3 + Kalbitang. E4 is for 3 people, and we only finished 90% of it! So it is only good if you have a big party. If I am a party of 2, I probably will try somewhere else.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great service! Clean place and very friendly staff. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something new and fun when it comes to the dining experience.

Yelp
A nice place to have Korean food. We went to this place to have AYCE BBQ. However, it only provided two kinds of pork for AYCE option, which is really disappointing. We ordered two types of soups. Both of them tasted great. They also provided 10 types of tasty side dishes.

Yelp
We haven't been to this restaurant for at least a year and as part of supporting local businesses during Covid 19, we went here for dinner. The restaurant staff went around and asked folks to keep their masks on until they start eating. They had hand sanitizers all over the restaurant and plexi glasses as well. Seafood pancake: I liked the fact that they brought this appetizer first with banchan as most Korean restaurants serve this with main entrees. It had lots of seafood inside and it was not salty which was good. They used Jangjorim (braised meat) sauce for dipping which worked for my son and hubby but not me so I just ate the pancake without the dipping sauce. Spicy pork bulgogi: My son said it tasted good but it wasn't spicy enough for him. Braised black cod: It had radish, tofu, and rice cake along with black cod steaks. I liked the taste but it wasn't as spicy as I'm used to. Steamed eggs: This was given to us complimentary and it was nice and soft. Banchan: There were 8 different banchan and to my surprise nothing really stood out. O remember them being tastier in the past where I asked for seconds. I hope they improve on banchan. Service: The server came by a couple of times to refill the water and to see if we needed anything.

Yelp
I would not recommend anyone eat here. If I could give negative stars I would. We went here specifically to order the black cod. We had been here before. The first time we were here the servers were rude and seemed over worked even though the place wasn't that busy. Food was good enough so we decided to return. Tonight was terrible. When they served the food to the table it was burnt and did not resemble what we orddered on our previous visit. We took a few bites and realized the portions were smaller and the food was burnt. Literally not eatable. We had to wait for the server to return. When we told her the food was burnt They accuses us of eating most of the food. They then started arguing with us. They asked if we wanted the food or for them to fix it. We said fix it. 10 minutes later they came back with the same burnt food on a new plate. When we told them they just put the same burnt food on new plates they said 'sorry...' in a real bitchy tone. The waitress continued to be rude and insisted we pay. I would not recommend this place to anyone..

Yelp
Service take forever. Rude service when we asked how the menu work. We left and she cussed at us in Korean.

Yelp
My favorite Korean restaurant in the Seattle area. Plenty of flavorful side dishes. The all you can eat brisket is good. It comes with salad and korean miso soup. I've tried their LA Galbi and old style bulgogi in the stone pot.

Yelp
Really disappointed in this restaurant. 4 of us arrived on a Sunday night at 7pm to wait 30 minutes to only have one cup of tea. When I waved the waitress down, I was given a quick and impatient response, telling me "wait one minute". After a full hour, we still had no food or refills. I understand restaurants get busy but when all the tables have gotten up, the waitress' priority should've been attending to us.

Yelp
Recommended to me, I thought this was just okay. Maybe it was what we ordered, but this wasn't all that. It's sort of old and reminded me of an old diner inside. The staff were friendly and it was sort of unusual for a KBBQ place. But we settled in to the grill and ordered some of our standard fare. Massive amount of banchan but we thought the meat was just ordinary. Sometimes I like the marinated meats and sometimes I feel like it totally masks the taste. These dishes weren't marinated and we thought it a bit bland. It took me awhile to find this place, and it was okay. But maybe not a destination place for me when I am seeking out Korean food.

Yelp
Just checked this place out for the first time while visiting north of Seattle. Great sides, soups and tabletop BBQ! I loved the unique tabletop pan. It's the first I have seen in the many K BBQ places I have been to.

Yelp
Food is really good one of the best, but service is really bad. One of the worst. It's always a risky choice. I recommend this place for a party of 2 or 3 but not for a large party. You won't get a good service.

Yelp
Waited for 1 hour to get our food and turns out the waitress forgot to put in our order, we we're starving and had to just walk out of there.

Yelp
Ka Won is my go-to for my KBBQ fix. Monday-Friday they have an AYCE (pork belly or thinly sliced brisket) for $22.99. It's really one or the other, but if you go as a party of 2 and order one of each, you can share meats (I.e. first round pork belly and brisket, second round 2 orders of brisket, etc). I like their non-marinated combo when I'm not doing AYCE. I find that it has all the things (incl egg and soju) I like and is filling for $62.99 (feeds ~3). Both options come with rice, soup, and salad. + Good quality meat (even in the AYCE) + Authentic, yummy ban chans (lots of variety - more than most restaurants) + Love the salad/ dressing I don't recommend this place if you're looking for the typical AYCE variety. I also have not tried their marinated meats to self grill so I cannot comment on that. Why not 5 stars? Service is hit or miss. Most of the time I find myself flagging down a waitress even when it's not busy. They're nice though. So, I personally don't usually mind if I've got my meat and ban chans. I've also been here once or twice to have regular menu items and thought it was just okay in terms of food for the price. Pro tip: Ask to sit at a table where you can use the round skillet. It's better than their built-in table grills.

Yelp
This place has always been known for their horrible service and this time I won't be going back again. I still go here occasionally despite their service because their food is decent compared to other Korean restaurants around. But today I ordered two marinated galbi ($33/person) and the food was nothing special. The side salad that you eat the meat with was very dry, side dishes alright but nothing special. What ruined it for me was that after they gave us our food, they NEVER came back to check on us. And we were the ONLY customers in the whole the restaurant. I had to walk up and pour my own water, and grab my own take out boxes. $80 kbbq for two people for food that's very average and service sh*t: definitely not worth

Yelp
Crappy service.... Food was okay, but service was NOT good! 1. Had a reservation.... table not ready and had to wait 10 minutes. 2. Had to keep asking for straws... got them ourselves. 3. Kept asking for water refill... had to get up and ask. 4. Seemed a bit rude when delivering dishes. 5. Complained of tip and insisted on tip. Very disappointed on the overall hospitality and will definitely go elsewhere.

Yelp
Good food, but their service and lack of respect for their customers has been consistently getting worse. If you want to feel like a second class person for not being Korean, then come here. Barely anyone comes to the table to offer water refills and god forbid you ask for more side dishes. Frequently, the waitresses will tell us that they are out of certain sides when we request refills for us to only see them serve up refills and new side dishes to other guests. When we ask for more they LIE CONSTANTLY and barely give a second to explain why not. There is a clear bias for Korean customers and they are checked on more often than others and given extra service, food and attention. It's a shame their food is good, but in sick of begging for side refills and being dismissed by the staff.

Yelp
For those of you who read my review of So Moon Nam Jib where I strongly asserted that I cannot go to any other Korean BBQ place outside of Federal Way, well I lied through my teeth. Ka Won, here, is ONE OF THE BEST KBBQ places up north! First off, before I came here I heard my Korean friends rave about this place, and you know when you go into a Korean restaurant and there are no white people in there, then that is a good sign, right? (yeah, I said it). Second, we opted for the all-you-can-eat option with the Black Pig Pork Belly. The pork belly is HELLA FRESH (my Northern CA persona is coming out as we speak) and you can just tell when they bring it out. Third, the ban chan has surprisingly good variety. When I thought I would anticipate the kind of ban chan that would come out, a new side would present itself such that it would never cease to amaze me. Fourth, I had Korean rice wine here---the warm type, not cold. It was good. Not much more to say about that. In conclusion, if you don't want to drive down to Federal Way for KBBQ, then Ka Won in Lynnwood is the next best thing!

Yelp
Words cannot even explain the frustration I felt while dining here. First off, they advertise a AYCE Korean BBQ for $22.99/person. I suppose that's decent price given most places now charge $27+/person. After seeing their meat selection I see why so cheap! They offered ONLY brisket and "supposedly" two different types of pork belly. I requested all three meat, but was given only brisket and pork belly. After the first meat round I requested more brisket and the pepper pork belly, but was given the same stuff again! I gave up. Just ate what was given to us, paid and left. Side dishes were mediocre at best and mash potatoes were too mushy and tasted like room temperature. No other dip sauce given to us other than sesame oil and couple sprinkle of salt. Oh yeah almost forgot. Their BBQ Grill reminded me of a heater my grandma used to use back in the 80s

Yelp
The food is OK, maybe 3 stars. The service is really bad if you are not korean. 1 star for the service. overall 2 stars and I am being very generous.

Yelp
Located in a plaza that's tucked inside on Highway 99; this place is easy to miss. The parking is on the smaller side and the lots of parking spaces are all kind of separated from each other. But I've never had an issue with finding parking here. The place itself is pretty roomy, with the layout of the place keeping the seating organized. It makes it feel a bit more open and the tables feel a bit separated from each other, which is nice. There's different tables specifically for either just dining or just KBBQ. I always came here with my family to have some KBBQ, but I just recently came in to actually dine. All of my experiences here have been great. KBBQ is always super satisfying and fulfilling, with good quality meat and salad. The soup (budae jeongol) I had for dining was enough to feed four people well. I also love their side dishes..... yum. Perfect dishes to complement the whole dining experience to keep my taste buds happy. Service here is usually pretty good. They're super nice, attentive, and efficient. I notice they constantly come over to check up on anything we may need help with.
