Such a nice ambience! The menu is very interesting I had to take a few minutes to read and appreciate it. Thankful for the bartender who helped me place my Togo order for butter chicken and garlic naan. My mouth literally fell open when I smelled the food, and the taste was even better. Not gluten and dairy free friendly, but worth a try if you want good Indian cuisine!!

Definitely one of the top Indian restaurants in NYC. Walked in and had a reservation so we were greeted and seated right away. We were passing by the bar and they greeted us as well, definitely very welcoming. Place was a bit dim but great vibes. Two menus placed on the table , small one being the food menu and tall one for drinks. First 4 sections of the small menu were appetizers, next 2 were the mains and last was for dessert. Restaurant takes the whole order at once , so order wisely. Me being to this restaurant once , didn’t know the portion size and etc so we order bunch of things. I must say definitely try the BABY GOAT KABABS and LAMB CHOPS as appetizers. Now on the main course definitely do the Butter Chicken , good portion for 2 people. I can't stop talking about this place. The whole experience was amazing--they've nailed the perfect balance of feeling satisfied yet still wanting more. I went with a few friends who aren't Indian, so I felt the pressure to pick the right spot and dishes. I'm so glad I found this gem. Here's where the fun begins: 1) The fusion Indian cocktails were great--I had the Vodka Kokum, and my friends tried mango and pineapple-based drinks. All were well-made and delicious. 2) The curry leaf prawns with mango sauce were one of the best appetizers. Juicy prawns with crispy, charred curry leaves hit the spot. 3) The butter chicken was fantastic--better than I expected. 4) The Kerala-style fish curry won us over. The coconut milk, curry leaves, and mustard seeds were perfect. 5) The paneer tikka masala was a crowd-pleaser. The mix of tangy, sweet, and salty flavors was amazing. 6) For dessert, we had the saffron pancake. I was skeptical about Indian desserts, but this one exceeded my expectations. The service was top-notch--our server was attentive, considerate, and generous, and the rest of the staff was friendly and warm. The ambiance was beautiful, and the restrooms were clean and well-maintained. My friends couldn't thank me enough for introducing them to this gem and to the flavors they didn't know existed. I'm definitely coming back to my new favorite Indian restaurant in the city.

(4.7/5 stars) delicious Indian restaurant on the UWS. The food, service, and drinks were delicious. When we arrived we sat at the bar for about 10-15 mins at most waiting for our table. When we were sat - we had a wobbly table. Just something annoying and unnecessary to deal with. Either fix the table or remove it. So that kinda bothered me especially for such a top dollar place. The drinks were a bit on the slow side as well & the bartender was alright. Our server/waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was very good as well. We had the prawns, which were flavorful & spicy. The paneer which I wasn’t really a fan of. It was not solid but more on the cottage cheese side (so this is def a preference on how I like my paneer), the butter chicken was very good and spicy. It didn’t come with white rice tho which felt like ??? The chicken biryani was good and spicy as well. The vegan plates which were the lentils and eggplant were delicious ! The dessert was also very good. Over all it was a solid good experience Indian restaurant - but still on my search to find the best Indian food in nyc. As of now this spot comes in a strong 2nd.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside - don't worry, inside is much more inviting. Came on the recommendation of a friend and wasn't disappointed. Prices seem a bit higher than neighborhood Indian restaurants. Food quality was good. Butter chicken hit the spot. Garlic naan went well with it. Fish curry was tasty. Noticed they're aren't as many vegetable dishes here as most Indian restaurants. We got an eggplant dish that I'd recommend.

Best Indian food! Service was amazing people super nice, friendly and kind. We all enjoy every dishes. Cocktails were also amazing! I will def go again!

I recently dined at this establishment and found both the food and service to be satisfactory. However, I had a concerning experience with the receptionist, which I feel compelled to share. The receptionist, who appeared to be a man of Indian descent, denied entry to three Indian ladies for dinner who didn’t have a reservation but subsequently allowed a white couple who also didn’t have a reservation in without issue. This incident was both surprising and unsettling to witness, particularly as an Indian woman. Due to this experience, I do not plan to return and cannot recommend this place to fellow members of the Desi community. There are many other venues where we can enjoy a welcoming and respectful atmosphere.

We went for restaurant week and had the opportunity to taste delicious three course meal. Oh my, get ready for some seriously delicious Indian food. One suggestion I would like to make is they just add the spicy level of each next to it for people that are not familiar with Indian cuisine but want to try it. I believe it would help tremendously to avoid disappointment. The chef came to say hello and was happy to talk about the dishes which was a huge plus to the restaurant, I would definitely consider going back. It’s worth it.

The environment and service was very good, giving us the Indian culture aspect. The food was different and good, but could be better. If I had a choice to come here then I would.

I just spoke to Sernanda, the hostess, with help on my reservation I messed up. She was an absolute gem! So helpful and patient with getting my reservation corrected. I truly appreciate great customer service since I feel we do not see that very often anymore. I just wanted to take the time to give her a shout out and show my appreciation.

Absolutely outstanding food and great drinks. For apps we got the mushroom galouti and it was so tasty and soft. One of the best appetizers. We also got the aloo tikki chaat which was amazing. For mains we got the paneer butter masala and dal makhani, both of which were great and definitely would recommend. The ghee roti was also really good. The rotis and naans are really large so would recommend sharing them. The drinks were also really good, especially the kokum cocktail. Service was also really good, and really nice ambience.

3/5 In my second visit, we tried the goat kebab, malai soya chaap, butter chicken, biryani & garlic naan. Food is really tasty. Drinks - paan shop & sasuraal interference are underwhelming. This time service was a bit lackluster. We were expecting some special treatment with our birthday reservation but nothing happened. Later they told us that we must order a dessert to get special treatment. Well it kinda killed the vibe. Menu still feels overpriced. Kebab aur Sharaab needs to up its game to truly be remarkable.

I recently dined at Kebab aur Sharaab and had a mixed, yet overall enjoyable experience. The meal began on a high note with the Lamb Chops Lal Maas and Aloo Tikki Chaat, both of which were flavorful and well-executed. To complement these, I tried the Paan Masala and Mango Chutney Cocktails, which were creative and refreshing, adding an interesting twist to the evening. For the main course, the experience was more hit-and-miss. The Palak Paneer Mirch Rogan didn't hit the mark for me, as the flavors felt off. However, the Paneer Butter Masala and the Special Muradabadi Daal stood out for their richness and depth. The bread selection was also a mixed bag. While the Garlic Naan was soft and well-prepared, the Lacha Parantha felt dry and underwhelming. The Keema Naan was tasty but could have been elevated with a keema gravy accompaniment, which felt like a missed opportunity. Dessert was a highlight with the Saffron Pancakes with Nut Crumble. The delicate saffron flavor paired beautifully with the crunch and sweetness of the nut crumble, ending the meal on a high note. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our server appeared inexperienced, frequently forgetting our requests and making mistakes throughout the evening, which took away from the overall dining experience. One downside was the pricing, which felt slightly on the higher side for the overall experience. While the ambiance and presentation were excellent, I wouldn't consider it a regular dining spot but more of a one-time indulgence. In summary, Kebab aur Sharaab offers unique dishes, creative cocktails, and a standout dessert, making it worth trying at least once. However, the service and certain dishes could use improvement to justify the premium pricing.

My friend and I ventured into this establishment to have a memorable meal. We have been on a quest this year to find the best Indian restaurant in town and hands-down I believe this place is my new favorite. To start off the entire vibe is super energetic inside, the bar is absolutely beautiful and the lighting is soft and energetic, great place to hang out if you are waiting for your table, which is what we did. Drink menu is pretty standard with a few interesting twists. I do like the shareable drinks option to really make your outing a party. We started our meal off with the lamb chops that were absolutely off the chains amazing. They were grilled perfectly, the masala and spice was perfection. The chops coming out on a skewer is a fun presentation but I would've liked to see one more piece on there just so that it's easier to share between two people, but I'm not too mad. The Aslam butter chicken was fabulous. The sauce was so delicious and buttery and full of flavor and the chicken was tender and juicy and just grilled perfectly. The pickled onions and green chutney cut right through all of that to deliver a perfect bite each time. Definitely get this if you are visiting here. For mains we ended up getting a rumali roti with the old Delhi korma. The korma had everything going for it, the right spices, the right balance, the tender meat. I just think it needed to spend a lot more time on the stove caramelizing and for the flavors to develop and deepen. This korma should not have been removed from the stove until the oil started to separate (Can you tell I'm a little bit of a korma fanatic?) We expressed this to the chef as well as he came out to greet the floor. The shameful part about this dish is that you could taste a little bit of the gamy flavor of the meat, which is never a good thing when it comes to desi curries. We ended the night with bone marrow pulao and this did not disappoint. I would suggest ordering this with another meat dish because there's not a lot of meat or masala in the rice itself, but it was very fragrant and the fatty bone marrow paired perfectly well with the rice. Overall, this was a super memorable meal. I can't wait to come back here and also try some of their desserts. Unfortunately we were too full to even think of anything sweet, but with this place I'm confident to say that there will be a next time!!

It's a really good Indian spot! The butter chicken is very unique in its smokey taste and overall profile. The other dishes are a very flavorful and the service is very friendly! It is a pretty decor and you can wander around admiring the care and detail!

Kebab Aur Sharab is mind blowing. Some of the best and authentic Indian food located in the upper west side. The ambiance is welcoming and luxurious. Decor is modern Indian and absolutely beautiful. Service was spectacular, orders were taken quick and food was delivered even quicker. For appetizers we ordered Amritsari Machi (seasoned and battered fish), tandoori chicken, lamb chops with tandoori onions. Main course we ordered famous butter chicken, chicken changezi, rose petals and paneer kofta and paneer tikka masala. Every single dish was seasoned to perfection, the spices used were next level. Presentation of all dishes were amazing. Note: Kebab Aur Sharab is definitely pricey, average $30/meal, which is a bit overpriced. Great for a celebration or special occasion.

I've dined at Kebab aur Sharab twice, and I will say the food, although pricey, is fantastic. The first time I came, we made a reservation and were seated in a smaller room in the back that was very romantic. I don't remember exactly what we ordered, but I distinctly remember the bone marrow biriyani being out of this world. So rich and silky with the bone marrow mixed in, with the raita and green sauce (mint?) cutting through the richness. Packed with flavor. I had the chicken biriyani the second time, and it was not as good. A little dry, and somewhat lacking in flavor. Both times, I ordered the rose kofta, which has a tomato cream based sauce similar to butter chicken. It only comes with 4 dumplings, but it's delicious nonetheless and the curry is wonderful over rice or on naan. Also beautiful presentation. The most recent time, we walked in without a reservation but were able to sit at the bar, which had a nice ambiance. We ordered a baby goat skewer, which had great presentation. This dish was interesting.. it had a soft texture that was almost like pate. We spread it on the provided flatbread with green sauce and pickled onions, which made for a unique and delicious bite. Moving onto desserts, we ordered the chai cake on my first visit, which I recall being delicious and moist, like a spiced version of tres leches. Most recently we got the gol chakkar (coconut jaggery pudding). I liked this less than the chai cake, but it was still a nice, modestly sweet end to the meal with unique flavors. My one qualm here is that on my most recent visit, the bartender broke a glass near where we were eating and cleared our dishes due to potential glass shards. He asked if we wanted another dish, which we declined as we were pretty full. He comped our dessert, but I feel like we should've had some portion of our entrees comped as well, considering we hadn't eaten about 50% which we could've taken home for 1-2 more meals. Despite this, I will still be coming back to Kebab aur Sharab because it is truly a standout of Indian dining. Just be careful sitting near the bar! Also they do play music extremely loud to celebrate birthdays, which can be fun, but a little annoying if there are several in a row.

Restaurant Was able to accommodate us without a reservation on a weekday, Plenty of seating indoors. Great service, provides a high chair for kids. Autumn was very knowledgeable. Absolutely delicious food. Paneer tikka and fully loaded onion kulcha are both phenomenal. Generous portions. Good cocktails, we tried the paan and mango drink. Paan drink comes with a delicious paan alongside.

I am so beyond impressed with this place! The menu options were broad and catered to all kinds of diets, and the wait staff were kind enough to ask about dietary restrictions. The service was prompt, timely, and friendly. And the ambience was incredible! Great music, phenomenal decor, and spacious interior. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic flavors and great portions. Only complaint is that they wouldn't let us sit until the whole group arrived!

Everything is bad. Food is mediocre. The plates are dirty and smell all ghee and butter. Service is okayish. I paid 200 dollars which is fine dine price but this place gives dhaba vibe. I ordered garlic naan without butter and it was sooooooo dry. I have had it at many places before and this was worst. Don't recommend.

This was excellent. The sweet potato chaat, chicken tikka kebab, butter chicken, and especially the biryani (one of the very best out there, in my opinion) were all really great.

Kebab aur Sharab is a fantastic place! The Paan Shop cocktail was incredibly refreshing and tasted just like Paan in a liquid form. The baby goat kebab was the most tender kebab I've ever had, and the Nawabi Lamb Kebab was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. I also really enjoyed the Old Delhi Korma, which was perfect for sharing between two people. My colleagues sampled all of the old fashioneds, and they were all excellent. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for amazing food and drinks! We loved the decor which was dimly lit but very stylish. There was plenty of seating and space for all sizes of groups.

This was highly recommended by my friend, so we decided to meet here for dinner last night. The prices are quite high, so be prepared for a high bill. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and constantly kept checking on us. The cleaning staff were taking away dirty plates proactively. When we didn't like one of the items, both the manager and the chef came out to get our feedback and why we didn't like the dish. Now to the food. We got the following: - Aaloo Tikki Chaat: this was really good. The Tikki was crispy, well cooked, and I loved all the chutneys it was surrounded with. - Dahi Kabab: this does taste like it has paneer in it, but it is hung yoghurt. It's very good and worth trying if you like yoghurt that way. - Daal Makhani: I'm a Daal Makhani snob, being from Delhi. It was not the best I've had, but quite good. - Saag Paneer: this was ok. Nothing special. - Chai Cake: I wasn't a fan of this dessert. The ice cream is not sweet at all, and the cake was a bit dry for my liking. - Saffron Pancakes: this is a twist to the traditional Rasmalai. But I loved the tiny chocolate pieces on it. The whole dessert was delicious. Overall, a great place to dine. The seating is a bit tight, but then it's NYC. The non-vegetarian options I hear are way better than the vegetarian ones.

Ambiance (5/5): At the entrance is a long hallway with the bar seating. The lovely bar and display was regal. I saw the staff behind the bar prepping fresh fruit cuts and preparing garnishes. So I knew that their cocktails would have high quality ingredients. The main dining area is incredibly ornate from the table ware, furniture, ceiling/walls, and décor. The back room has a glass ceiling for even more of a unique atmosphere. Service (4/5): The staff was bustling with some in training. It took a while for us to place our order but the food came out very fast! Old Delhi Korma (4/5): The dish was incredibly creamy and packed a punch of different spices. The meat was tender and also had a good portion of meat. My qualm was that the chunks were too thick and therefore didn't have all the flavor infused to the meat. I cant put my finger on it, but something was missing from this dish! Chicken Biryani (4/5): The chicken was good but a bit on the dry side. The rice missed some flavors for me but my bf enjoyed it. Garlic Naan (5/5): The naan was a bit more thinner than other naan that I've had but it was by far my favorite of the meal! The garlic and spices were tasted on the crunch of the naan which was both soft and crunchy. 1 naan order was enough for two to share. I had high hopes for this place as the chef once earned a Michelin star for a different venue. The ambiance was unique and the flavors were almost there. Price point for the dishes ($30+) were a bit more expensive my favorite Indian spot.

My friend and I arrived at around 9:15pm, without a reservation and was about to grab 2 seats at the bar. It's more ideal to nab a reservation if you're going with more than 2 people since the bar is designed for 2 unless you are able to grab one of the ends. The bar serves the full dinner menu. The ambiance at the bar is quite intimate. The service is attentive and friendly. The food here is phenomenal and took me by surprise. Between two people, we shared the bone marrow rice, the chicken changezi and the garlic naan and this was plenty of food for two. There was even extra bone marrow rice to take home after.

Great service and cool ambiance, seemed like each part of the restaurant had a good vibe! We ordered quite a few dishes for the table- some favorites were the Butter Chicken Tikka Kebabs and the Bangin Baigan. Favorite from the night was the Chai Cake for dessert!

This place really deserves 4.5 stars, and the only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because they took my favorite dish off the menu! The place itself is so nicely done. The bar when you first walk in is ornate but still has a modern upscale feel to it without being too pretentious. The place in general is colorful with dimmer mood lighting but done is a classy fun way. Every time I am there, I feel like someone is celebrating a birthday. To be honest they do a great job with birthday celebrations and the food is so good, it's the perfect place to celebrate. I used to get the paneer version of their famous butter chicken, and it was the best Indian food I have ever had, but they took it off the menu! In it's place they have a paneer tikka masala, which is also delicious, but it just isn't quite as amazing and their old paneer dish. They have a really fun cocktail list, my favorite drink is the mango mezcal drink. They also sometimes have a sommelier there to help with wine selection which is just fun to do and also really helpful. They have a great selection of wines as well. They do rotate what wines they have. When I first started coming here when they first opened, they had a variety of orange wines that were delicious. About a year later I had one of my favorite white wines here. I also appreciate that they will recommend not only delicious wines but ones that are more economical as well.

I made a reservation for my mom's birthday here. After reading the reviews I made sure I put in a note about the table being in the main dining room. When we got there they offered us a table in the front area. This was what I had feared so I discussed with them. They ended up accommodating us on a two person table inside the main dining room. I did prefer being squished into a smaller table over being in the front. It seems they didn't receive my note with the reservation and they said that tables are automatically assigned. There is a huge difference in my opinion between the main dining room and the front room. The food was quite excellent and they pay a lot of attention to presentation as well. We were often looking over at other tables as the food arrived in unique ways. We ended up ordering the purple yam chaat. It was nice but needed a bit more yogurt. It reads a little dry otherwise. Unfortunately the wagyu kebabs were not available so we ended up with the rib eye seekh. I thought it was excellent. We also got chicken tikka and biryani. Both were excellent. I have to especially mention some things you get at all restaurants but they are a bit more special here- their mango lasso and garlic naan. It's simply so much better here. The best part of the night was the dessert of course. While I am the main person with a sweet tooth, we managed to finish two full desserts between three people. We got the chai cake and the saffron pancakes. The saffron pancakes have a beautiful presentation with the dry ice. Between the smoky pancakes and the clapping crew, we managed to fully surprise my mom who really enjoyed the birthday spectacle (while being a little embarrassed). Overall it was a great night. The manager checked in several times due to the mishap in the beginning. Overall, it was a memorable night for us.

The service was great and drinks are unique but that's about it. I found the food to be really underwhelming, and given that it's NYC and NYC pricing, I expected more. Bone marrow pulao felt like there was a layer of meat cooked on it which took away from the marrow's decadence. The lamb chops I think should've been Atleast 4 pieces, priced at $40. $39 for 3 is honestly a rip off cause some were over cooked and barely had marinade. And not to mention the chops came out 2 minutes after ordering so we got a batch that was not fresh. Butter chicken gravy was wow but the pieces were so big and the bowl was so small that it was a task to get the gravy. Kaleji was good but needed lemon and pickled onion. As soon as we put some lemon on it, the flavors were so much more apparent. I'm just let down that it's another overhyped social media restaurant with mediocre food.

SO GOOD. Beautiful ambiance and terrific food. I loved the saag kebab, the curry fish special and the butter chicken. A bit pricey but absolutely worth it.

Went with a large group with kids on late friday evening.We mentioned about the kids in our group while reserving,yet i felt the manager was not so nice about the kids.We reserved for 12 and they gave us a table for 10,which was a bit small.Taking off one star for this and the subpar and expensive cocktails. Otherwise,the food was pretty good.We enjoyed almost everything we ordered. Favorites were Andhra Green chilli chicken,sardarji macchi,pattar ka Wagyu,Aloo tikki,Butter chicken curry,Bone marrow pulao,Kerala fish curry,Palak paneer and Dal makhani. We didnt really like the Broccoli malai kebab,Aslam butter chicken,banging baingan and roomali roti. We ordered 3 desserts and all of them were good.Gol chakkar is the fav. Definitely worth a visit on the upper west side. Wish the manager is better with groups.

Food 6/10 I was surprised at the number of people in the restaurant on a Tuesday evening, but there were no more available tables so we had to sit at the bar. We ordered the baby goat, fish curry, mutton, and garlic naan. The garlic naan tasted quite good when it first came out fresh, but once it cooled down, it became kind of hard and difficult to swallow?? Tough. The baby goat was an interesting texture, it came with some pancake-esque carb slice and a sauce, but it wasn't fully a piece of meat, it was mixed with something so it was almost mousse-like. The fish curry was a little dry, and the curry itself was a bit too sweet and not very complex. I really liked the way the mutton was cooked, and the sauce was a little spicy, but I think it could've been spicier. It came down to $120 total without tip. I don't think the meal was worth that high of a bill. Atmosphere 8/10 Super cool interior design, very dim and vibey, but also colorful paneling on the inside. The bar seating had relatively comfy chairs. Service 8/10 The menu itself did not make much sense to me in the organization. The waiter was truly raving about all the dishes on the menu. A friendly dude but the actual meal fell short of his high praise.

If only Kebab Aur Sharab's team spent half their budget on their food as they obviously do on Instagram marketing, maybe this restaurant would've been worth the over-exposure. The Paneer Shashlik was a dull, tasteless stick of bland cheese. Whatever marinade they attempted to coat the paneer in died a quick, flavorless death before ever journeying to the centre of the earth. The Banging Baignan was strange, with too much raw onion and too little flavoring otherwise. Also, it shouldn't have been cold. And the Kerala King Fish Curry, the only properly spiced dish, came as a tiny filet that wouldn't satisfy a mouse for a whopping $46. The Chai cake was fine, but it's basic--anyone could make it with a box mix and cardamom. Frankly, the only satisfying thing we got was the Lychee Lassi, though it didn't really taste like lychee. Maybe we would've had a better time if we'd been seated in the main restaurant area and not in the makeshift-looking front section that felt like the lobby of a 60s hospital. Not only did we feel like we were on display to everyone on the street, but we got to enjoy the (unpleasant) experience of homeless people staring at us, making faces, and generally acting deranged. But given the high prices for such lackluster food, I highly doubt management will ever get rid of these extra tables that were clearly an after-thought.

I celebrated my birthday here with my close friends and family, and let me tell you something... first off, definitely make reservations, and definitely make sure that it is your birthday (and let the staff know that you are celebrating your birthday). I won't spoil the surprise, but believe me, there is amazing desi twist to it! Good ambiance, noise levels on the higher end, but a very inviting bar and restaurant overall. Menu is definitely on a rather expensive end and some food items don't live up to their rather expensive price tag. No, it's not the desi in me saying this, I genuinely feel that way. We ordered a few cocktails, but their Badhai Ho ($22) is an absolute winner. Amrut Single Malt is just very very tasty! We ordered a few things which included a fairly forgettable Purple Sweet Potato Chaat ($20), but a rather delicious Rib Eye Seekh ($32). Paneer Butter Masala ($26) was rather disappointing and on the sweeter side, but the Palak Paneer Mirch Rogan ($28) definitely hits the spot. The Kerala Fish Curry ($36) is a must try and was thoroughly enjoyed and polished by table. I was shocked at the pace at which it disappeared actually! The Malabar Bone Marrow Pulao ($39) is enough for a table of four adults, and a little expensive too. Roomali Roti ($8) is absolute perfection and goes well with all curry entrees. A definite must try if you haven't tried this before. Service was excellent and Riya, our hostess/waiter was very helpful, and friendly. Food arrives within 20 minutes of ordering. Overall we had a very positive experience.

EXCELLENT FOOD. The appetizers were incredible. The dahi kebab is a unique Smokey taste and fall off the bone aslam chicken. The baigan bharta is to die for. Incredible garlic flavor and very tender blended eggplant. And the paneer tikka was finally a perfect spice blend vs the usual sweet okie you get in other Indian restaurants. With the food, both Charlie and hector were very great servers Topped off with delicious dessert, we will be back here plenty! No better combo than good food, good service and good ambiance.

I had high hopes for this place, but it really didn't deliver. I like that there are a handful of vegetarian kebab options. I went with the papad seekh kebab, which was certainly interesting - seems like primarily beetroot with some other vegetables, spices, and a papad coating. It was certainly creative, but the texture was a bit on the mushy side. For the main course, I had the palak paneer and muradabadi dal with garlic naan. The dal was just fine, with a good spice blend. The palak paneer was entirely missing salt, and I usually like less salt than the average person. The dish definitely improved after adding some salt over the top, but was still a bit too rich and needed something to contrast. The garlic naan was kind of a mistake because the dishes all have a pretty dominant garlic flavor. I'd recommend getting a regular naan or roti. I also had the kokum cocktail, which was very cool. I always love drinks with Indian flavors. This was a good balance of sweet and sour. At nearly $75, the meal was far too expensive. I was pretty disappointed. Maybe just stop by for a drink and have dinner elsewhere.

Really tasty food, just extremely overpriced. I tried the lamb chops, kaleji kheema, chili chicken and chai cake. All tasted pretty good but what stood out to me the most was the kaleji, it was divine. I still don't think the prices justify the food but I still had a good experience.

Great Indian restaurant but giving it a 3/5 overall for the price you pay. There's other pricey Indian restaurants in NYC where you will end up paying the same price or even cheaper and get better food. We did the green chili chicken, keema kaleji and chai cake for dessert. Keema kaleji was fire 10/10 recommend. But the chicken and chai cake were just decent...nothing special. Not to mention the chai cake dessert was $19. Good food but not worth the price.

TLDR: Very tasty Indian fare next to Sushi Yasaka on the UWS. Pricy but quite tasty. Small portions. Great for corporate card meals. Favorite for me was the bangin' baingan or smoked eggplant and the baby goat mince. I felt for me personally - the experience would have been more enjoyable if I were seated in the restaurant proper and not in the front area which kind of feels like a waiting area. I understand we have to maximize seats but the overall experience along with the pricing on the menu - it just didn't add up for me. The food was good enough that I'll be back but for me personally, if no seating is available in the back - I probably decline a seat there. Our total meal came close to $250 all in with tax, tip, drinks, etc. The seats were not particularly comfortable nor do you feel like you're really part of the restaurant itself. If you don't really care about those things though - then maybe it's not an issue. Food. Really unique and interesting dishes. The kebab we got was almost like a spreadable goat meat. It is minced baby goat to be specific. Think like a hot nduja or sobrassada but Indian flavors. Smallish portion but really interesting. I've not had a dish like that in an Indian restaurant or really any restaurant at all. Green chili chicken, not quite as spicy as I was prepared for. It was fine but lots of ginger and the cornstarchy texture made me think I was eating a Chinese dish to be honest. I'd probably skip next time. Butter chicken. Good, not much else to say. Kerala King Fish Curry. Nice presentation, fish was tasty but very small serving size. The gravy was very tasty with the bread and the rice. Bangin Baingan. Loved this. Smoked eggplant almost served like a tartare, lots of nice textures for crunch. Like I said - I enjoyed the food and would definitely be back but this would probably be more of a once in awhile thing. I could have easily spent over $300 here with just two people. The Mango Lassi was $12. For me though, I don't feel great spending that kind of money and feeling like I was sat in a service entrance. Our server was wonderful and he really was above and beyond what I'd expect at most restos in the city.

I enjoyed coming here for the first time. The food and drinks were brought out at a reasonable pace, the server was attentive, and the presentation of the dishes added to the experience (the chai cake came with a scoop of chai ice cream topped with a tea bag label -- nice touch!) I don't feel though that I need to come back. The food is tasty and plated well but not memorable. I will also say that the malai broccoli kebab was not my favorite. Our group of 3 was seated at a table meant for 2 so our table was very crowded as we were eating.

A lively spot for Indian eats on the UWS -- the bar area in the front is beautiful, and they have plenty of tables in the back too. I recommend ordering family-style for the table. My personal favorites were the Fish Curry and Bangin Baigan. The Chai Cake may have been the star of the show! Good food, solid service and great vibes -- I'd come back!

Best chicken I've ever had. Get the garlic nan. Better than the butter. You're on your own at the bar. Very nice, but inattentive and not in a hurry. Also bar seats are not comfortable

After all of the instagram ads that were bombarding my newsfeed, finally went and tried @kebabaursharab and boy did it not disappoint. I'm pretty stingy with my reviews especially when it concerns a desi joint and yet I was blown away--the food was phenomenal! Once you step inside, it feels very warm and inviting which matched the hospitality and care by their staff- whether it was from our seating hostess to our waiter, special mention to Hector, and Ganesh, the restaurant's general manager. Everything was above and beyond and felt well cared for. The lamb chops which was served in a sword is a must try!!! Other favorites were the chicken biryani, daal makhani and Chicken changezi. The rose petals with paneer was delicious but couldn't be differentiated from the other dishes. Overall verdict: It's a must try!

I wasn't blown away. It's a cute restaurant with friendly service. Decent food. They really blast the atmosphere/music if it's someone's birthday which I didnt mind, definitely an awesome experience for the group that is celebrating. Just be prepared for it if it happens to you. :) Drinks were good. Kebabs were outstanding. Non-kebab dishes were good but not great. Bathrooms were a miss for the $$$ restaurant they are trying to be. I do judge a place for its hygiene and the bathrooms failed. There was a giant puddle under the soap dispensers due to the design. They have potential and can do better!

Tandoori chicken was superb, as was the paratha. Both the sweet potato appetizer and vegetable kebab were bland and undistinguished. The servers needed training. They brought everything at once, far more than what the table would hold. At a minimum, they should have asked how we wanted the order of service. They did not. We sat on a porch table below a heater. The table next to us, where we were originally seated, was chilly and coats were needed. Overall, a mixed review.

Went in on a Friday late evening for a dinner and the place was relatively packed. The music was good and the service was excellent. We were also celebrating a birthday and the hosts were gracious and they celebrated the birthday in a big way! The food was mostly good with the butter chicken tikka and the Kashmiri pulao being exceptionally good but the other veg dishes were a hit and a miss. The paneer Dora kebab was dry and the rose petal paneer kofta was too sweet (I think the rose flavor took over the entire dish and the sweetness of the rose was all we could taste). The chaat was good too. The cocktails were also on average just average.

Beautiful interior (especially the bar area)! The lychee lassi was unique and very delicious. The apps were all pretty good, and the lamb chops were really good. the kebabs were good but didn't stand out. The chicken tikka was also a bit dry. The main courses definitely stole the show. The butter chicken was so good, and we got the amazing bone marrow rice too. The daal was some of the best I've had. Bread on the side was great too. Service was pretty attentive and fast.

Kebabs were fantastic. Love the service and ambience of this place. A little disappointed with the entrees, the paneer kofta tasted good but was a little harder than I expected, same with the mutton curry. Excited to go back and try some other dishes on their menu.

Bona Fide Indian restaurant with genuinely authentic spices, curry bases, and delicately prepared meat that come together for a meal similar to what food in the motherland taste like. The only thing stopping it from a perfect score is the hefty price tag. $30 a dish. 4.75/5 stars as a dinner spot.

Loved the food and service. We had ordered multiple apps and entrees and all were very good - both the veg and non veg. One thing to call out is the portions are big so don't over order. Especially as it's expensive too ;).

Kebab Aur Sharab, a gem discovered through TikTok, not only lived up to the hype but exceeded expectations, earning its place as my favorite Indian restaurant in the city. The experience was so remarkable that my brother, who had recently visited, insisted on returning, and I am delighted he did. The Baby Goat Doori Kebab was a revelation, literally melting in the mouth and providing a unique and unforgettable taste experience. However, the pinnacle of the meal was the Malabar Bone Marrow Pulao. The scrapping of the bone marrow and its incorporation into the rice created a dish that was not only delicious but also a masterclass in culinary creativity. Completing the ensemble, the breads and raita were perfect accompaniments, rounding off the meal with a symphony of flavors and textures. Ambiance is fantastic. We sat in the back in the peacock room which was a nice touch. Our waitress Khushi was FANTASTIC. From the moment we sat down to the end, she was attentive and provided the best service possible. She took special care of my daughter for her birthday. Food was everything you can ask for from quality and presentation. Highly recommend the Aslam Butter Chicken and the Paneer Kebab. The Chai Cake was for dessert was the perfect night cap.

Good Indian food with a nice vibe. The service is friendly (but sometimes slow). The menu has reliable favorites (chaat; butter chicken; etc.), but the dishes have a homemade quality to them. Portions are also generous. For dessert, highly recommend the chai cake -- it has the texture of a tres leches cake, but with chai.

Interior was fine. We had a table near the front of the restaurant - alittle cramped but it's NYC so to be expected. Service was fine. My husband ordered the butter chicken. He thought the chicken was very grisley - lots of connective tissue and the sauce itself was one note. Seemed to be missing the tomato, ginger flavors. I tried the chicken changezi. I also noticed the same issue with the chicken but sauce was flavored better. The garlic naan was also very dry and alittle crunchy - not what you expect from freshly cooked naan. A cook did come out to talk with us and say that they choose to use thighs because they don't dry out as much as breasts which I don't doubt but you can still prep the meat so that it's not grisley and you can also prepare chicken breasts so they are not rubbery. I was underwhelmed to say the least.
