LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"We're not entirely sure what a “modern kissaten” should look like, but this one has enough vintage furniture to resemble an estate sale and a menu of drinks that sound like candle scents. By day, this Chinatown cafe does pastries and lattes in flavors like strawberry sesame and cantaloupe matcha, then switches to beer and wine at night. There’s also a small selection of Japanese cafe food like egg sandos." - cathy park

You either go for the life you want or settle for the life you get. And this coffee review is the one you want. Let’s begin! Kissaten Corazón (est 2025) is a brand new coffee bar hidden away in the heart of LA's Chinatown on N. Spring and Wilhardt Street. They just opened on June. It's a lovely coffee bar serving pour-overs, pastries, sandwiches and specialty drinks by day. From its exterior it may look like an old 1920’s bricked warehouse but as soon as you stepped inside you will be transported into a Victorian era. And by night fall, it becomes a seductive wine bar with jazzy vibe. ;D I drove to check this new coffee. They have a copious selection of coffee/tea drinks. I was warmly greeted by Margo, a young female barista. I perused their menu and ordered a 4th Wave Iced Coffee. And it did not disappoint. I loved it! It’s smooth, sexy medium roasted and rich in freshness. They have books, games and piano for customers to play with. Like the two females (in their 20s) playing chess, whereby Girl 1 is a willy chess player adroitly manipulating the novice Girl 2. Lol. Coffee shop’s seats were comfy with a jazzy atmosphere. Its high ceiling and abundant natural light makes it more charismatic. Because they don’t have a parking lot, you’ll find plenty of street parking. Prices were reasonable and match the quality. Service was royal. Collectively, this is a great coffee shop to bring a date, a mistress, a yelp friend, or just go solo. Overall, I am ebullient I get to try this new coffee bar. I highly recommend you visit if you’re in the area.

Beautiful environment, aka vintage jazzy cafe. Love the three different types of views you can enjoy with your drink and food.

This coffee shop just opened at a tucked away spot in Chinatown. Owned but the same people as Loop Espresso Club in Eagle Rock, this cafe has a really cozy interior with a nice vibe. Really nice spot to do some reading or catching up with friends during the day. They had a lot of indoor and semi-outdoor seating as well. I ended up getting the signature matcha coconut drink and thought it was fun but just okay. For the price, I would have expected them to use more matcha in the drink. It was definitely on the sweeter side so a bit more matcha would have balanced the beverage out a bit more.

Visited for the first time last weekend and loved it! Super cute, cozy vibes and a really unique drink menu. The food and drink were delicious. Staff was sweet and attentive as well. Can't wait to go back!

I got to visit Kissa during their soft opening weekend and I can’t wait to go back! Sister to Loop Espresso Club and does not disappoint. The vibe in here is perfect and there’s no place like this in LA

Google
Yeah, this place rocks. Indoor vibes are great, nice covered patio area good for groups and meetings, and a further outdoor patio for your requisite vitamin D. Oh, and the coffee is delicious too! And you actually get your money's worth.

Yelp
Amazing service, server was super sweet and remade a whole additional drink after a minor error. :) The place is super aesthetic and cute, loved the pictures I took. The food and drinks were also amazing, would definitely recommend and come back!

Yelp
Kissa Cora is an absolute gem! The moment I stepped inside i was transported into a cozy, vintage inspired haven. The ambience and charming little details make the space nostalgic and inspiring to the senses. I especially liked the Kissa soda float-a refreshing stand out. You can tell that they use high quality ingredients. I know I'll be back for their other specialty drinks along with their savory and sweet pastries. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and you will feel instantly at home. This place is special and worth checking out!

Yelp
From the first sip it was bliss, now I know why I made this trip, your new favorite spot? You just found it

Yelp
This is a really cute cafe that serves coffee and food in a very well decorated building! It's definitely very unique and does remind you of a speakeasy vibe. I came because I saw they had unique Asian drinks which I'm always a fan to try something new. I got their Strawberry Sesame Latte (5/5) that was delicious! It came with fresh strawberry puree sauce at that bottom that was the right amount of sweetness and tartness. Then you can taste the hint to sesame paste mixed in that isn't too overpowering but gave it a nutty taste. I loved the espresso they had on top and with its creamy milk it was the perfect richness to my coffee drink. I can tell that their coffee is very high quality as well. I loved this drink since I've seen so many black sesame and strawberry drinks but this one was truly unique mixed together! I want to come back to try their cantaloupe milk with matcha on top.

Yelp
This new iteration from Loop Espresso Club turned out to be similarly disappointing in terms of service. On a Saturday morning around 10 AM, I ordered an iced 4th wave coffee to go, and my order was completely forgotten. I went up to the bar to ask if maybe I had missed my name being called, but I was told their system went down but that they would make my order. Finally I got my coffee, 25 minutes after I had ordered. The coffee was nothing special unfortunately, just your typical dark roast iced coffee. The pourover coffee I make at home has more dimension and flavor; I just didn't like the beans that were used here. Of course the ambiance and interior is very nicely done, and it's a good place to sit down with a friend to chat if you can find a spot. But for now the line is long, the service is unorganized and probably understaffed, and the 4th wave coffee is mid.

Yelp
Super cute place with good vibes and a fun menu! I got the cantaloupe matcha and a tangerine tea cake and both were great. However, from arriving to walking out the door with my drink and pastry took a total of 1 hour, no exaggeration. It's not the staff's fault, I know they're doing the best they can. It just feels very short staffed with a super slow moving line which sadly tainted the experience. Is the quality of drinks and food great, yes! But is it worth spending a total of 1 hour just to get it, no.

Yelp
I really loved my experience here. I love the antique style and atmosphere it gives off. While the inside feels a little more intimate, the outside area leading in has an open airy feel. I enjoyed my egg sandwich and vanilla iced latte. Definitely the spot to sit and chat with your friends & family. They are also dog friendly!

Yelp
Hidden gem across from LA Historic Park. Parking across the street. The interior is gorgeous like you've escaped to a Victorian library. Service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had the Strawberry Sesame Iced Latte, Egg Sando, and danish. The Strawberry Sesame Latte was a nice twist. Not an everyday drink for me. Egg sando bread was fluffy and nice chunks of egg. Nice spot to unwind, read/study, or catch up with friends.

Yelp
Good: cute aesthetic, matcha was great, strawberry poptart was not too sweet not too bland. Bad: waited 40 min for my matcha and a pour over iced coffee, I didn't get my coffee and poptart until I actually said something, because I started seeing other people lined behind me get their drinks. When I went up to ask about my order, the Hana, and my poptart, they had no clue and obviously missed my order. It's fine it's a mistake, but what ticked me off is that they just used the hot Hana they were already making and just put it over iced. Instead of making the pour over with ice already in the process. Meh. Not coming back after this.

Yelp
Definitely the most unique coffee shop in the LA area , great speakeasy vibe with plenty of retro furnishings and a cool chess set that customers can play. Those who were fans of Loop Espresso Club in Eagle Rock, this is essentially Loop 1.5 and the quality of the drinks is felt. Definitely filling the hole left by their closure, very intimate and cozy feeling in this coffee shop with plenty of seating nearby. Will be a new mainstay of mine to visit and great staff, good to see some familiar faces that worked at Loop. Plenty of free street parking around and can also park at the park across the street

Yelp
Five-stars for Kiss Cora, the coffee shop of my literal dreams (it's kind of how I've always imagined a coffee shop to be, like Miyazaki IRL, IYKYK). This speakeasy vibe with an outdoor patio is not only a spacious and aesthetic place to hang out, but the staff is awesome and the drinks are delicious. I ordered the canteloupe milk with a cream top and added matcha as recommended for that caffeine kick - the matcha was hand-whisked, and the result was the best, most refreshing drink I've had in a LONG time, slightly sweet but "not too sweet," creamy, cold. I also ordered the egg sando for $10 which was pillowy and light and served with two perfect cornichons for a contrasty crunch. The perfect set, the perfect setting. I hung out for a long time, invited a friend over, and most certainly have plans to come again (can I move in?) Free street parking.

Yelp
Went during the soft opening, they have such a great vibe! Different from your regular coffee shop, the staff are friendly and drinks taste great. Their decor is unique and definitely gives the shop so much personality! This is a great place to just chill and do some work.

Yelp
Excited to visit here. Strawberry Sesame Latte was great. Egg Salad good, but not as good as Konbi, and my major disappointment was my $7 pour over. It was room temperature. Not hot like it should be, not warm, room temp. And I saw him make it so he wasn't even using boiling water to extract the coffee. Not sure what he was thinking but a total waste. I gulped it down in no seconds flat like. I would a bottle of ice water. Darn. And waited a long time too.

Yelp
This was a cool spot. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and the gentleman behind the bar was friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering the Egg Sando which was delicious, fluffy and satisfying. Also got a couple of tasty lattes. I really enjoyed the moody vibe. The decor was vintage and I can tell they have excellent taste in both creating an atmosphere. I'm sure I'll be back soon.

Yelp
Kissa is the SPOT! you walk in to a speakeasy ambiance with folks lounging and chatting over a strawberry sesame latte or like we got--a tasty and sweet cantaloupe milk ct. There's so many cozy zones to sip on your drink or eat an egg sando while listening to jazz. Service was excellent and the baristas are hot! You can find plenty of parking on the street and if you're a rave bae, start here and walk over to LA historic park. We started off with coffee and ended with sake.

Yelp
My partner & I used to love going to Loop so this was no disappointment at all. Kissaten is a beautiful, cozy coffee shop with great customer service & amazing drinks. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I really want to gatekeep this place, but I also want it to do well. The struggle. This was the last stop on a day's worth of places around Silverlake and Echo Park, and it couldn't have been more different. The vibes here are immaculate. It's small. Thrifted furniture, excellent jazz music, unpretentious clientele. Contrasted by some of the most intricately crafted drinks I've had around LA. We tried two of their "refresher" drinks--one with a cantaloupe milk base and another coconut-water, topped with a really interesting matcha foam that I thought was really unique. I will definitely make a point of coming back here before it gets too popular; I think once it's discovered there is a real possibility it will feel different than it does now, so for now it is a must-visit.

Yelp
Perfect setting, perfect music, perfect drinks. The drinks are so insane I've never been this torn abt what to order. Perfect level of sweetness and insane flavor combinations I would go here every day to do work if I could. It is actually the perfect environment to do work in it puts all the other coffee shops I go to to shame.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere, service was very nice. I felt so relax and enjoyed my order. The parking lot was very small, I came at the right time. I totally recommend stopping by and have a wonderful cup of you favorite type of coffee or tea.

Yelp
The ambience (music and volume), staff and coffee get a chef's kiss, MWAHDefinitely on my repeat list!

Yelp
When you first walk into Kissaten Corazon, it is so surprising to find a place like this, tucked in this area of Chinatown. You are immediately greeted with great mood lighting, pleasant jazz/soul music, and beautiful vintage furniture. Ordering is very easy as there is an order window as soon as you walk in. The servers were very friendly and very helpful in explaining the menu. Our group ordered the strawberry sesame latte, matcha coconut refresher, kissa melon soda float, and pistachio affogato. The servers brought out the drinks to us which was an amazing touch. The strawberry sesame latte was so well balanced, the coconut refresher...I could drink 12 of these, the melon soda float had the perfect amount of sweetness, and the pistachio affogato to finish it off hit the spot, especially on a warm summer day. I highly recommend Kissa Corazon, either with a group, a date, or much needed alone time. This is LA's next best thing.

Yelp
Amazing hidden gem in LA. So relaxing ambiance with lovely jazzy music. Food & drinks were fantastic! Everyone was friendly. My fav place to chill. To see is to believe.
