Felt super apprehensive about dining here as a non-Japanese person since we knew that the chef was really particular about etiquette, but I'm so glad we were able to try the conger eel here. We made lunch reservations for the Densuke Anago (Conger Eel) Rice box Course via the Omakase service online, and it was a seamless experience.
The restaurant is very intimate--everyone's seated around the counter--and it was fascinating to watch the chef prepare the eel. The set we booked consisted of a great variety of preparations for eel (from raw sashimi, in a broth, tempura, and grilled), and we left the restaurant extremely full and satisfied. We were the only non-Japanese diners at the time, but the chef and waitress were extremely friendly despite the language barrier.
