"A cosy ambience prevails in this utterly timeless establishment, which was dominated by its larger-than-life boss, “Bobosse”, for so many years. Even though he doesn’t pop in quite so often anymore, his personality continues to underscore the DNA of this haunt of foodies. For fifty odd years, fine food lovers have been digging into wholehearted, rustic dishes from Berry or Ardèche. The chef scrimps neither on quality nor quantity when it comes to the house terrine of cabbage and garlic, poultry in cream or the rum-flavoured ice cream! An establishment whose existence is almost anachronistic in today’s restaurant universe." - Michelin Inspector

The Best Restaurants in Paris, According to a French Food Expert | Eater

"If you’re up for an experience, check out this bona fide Paris bistro like they don’t make them anymore, frequented by an older local crowd of habitues. The dining room — paneled, tile-floored, complete with red-and-cream jacquard tablecloths and napkins — is run by the theatrically grumpy Michel Bosshard, aka Bobosse, who babies friends with snifters of prune de Souillac (plum liqueur) and teases everyone else. The succulent, hearty, old-fashioned French cooking includes a house-made terrine de campagne, stuffed cabbage, and a textbook blanquette de veau (veal in cream sauce). Located in the 12th arrondissement. Know before you go: Cash only (and it’s a bit pricey)." - Alexander Lobrano

The 18 Best Bistros In Paris - Paris - The Infatuation

"At Le Quincy, kitsch is still chic, and that's exactly why you're here. The wood-paneled bistro steps from Gare de Lyon looks like it was airdropped from the French countryside, with red gingham curtains and a framed pig portrait on the wall—it’s appropriate given all the pork-driven specialties and saucy French classics on their menu. When you arrive, snap a pic of the bottomless charcuterie baskets and terrines in the center of the dining room, and follow your welcome saucisson and bubbly with the caillette, a caul-fat-wrapped pâté redolent with herbs. Waiters ceremoniously spoon most main dishes tableside from rustic cassolettes, like a veal chop swimming in decadent morel cream and fork-tender rabbit glazed with white wine sauce, a rarity outside of a country grand-mère’s kitchen. Make sure to hit the ATM before arrival: it’s cash only." - emily monaco

Excellent dining option a few blocks from Gar de Lyon. They serve some classic French dishes like streak and potatoes, which we got. And also some of their house specialties like the chicken with crayfish in butter sauce -- amazing dish! My favorite, however, was the snout salad. It was surprisingly refreshing during a hot summer day. Service was at pat with most restaurants in Paris. Will return to try other specialities next time. Recommended! Note that there are limited seafood options.

One of the best meals I have ever had in Paris. And I'm lucky enough in my life that I've had many, many good meals here. The food at Le Quincy is superb. We split a tart made out of leeks to begin that was amazing. My wife had Coq au Vin and I have the scallops. Both dishes astounded us with their virtuosity and I might add their quantity! fine selection of wines and superb dessert. What a find!

Google
A traditional French restaurant which offers classification dishes, it’s small but very cosy. It seems like people dining there are the regular one and they know each other. A gentleman on the next table chatted with us. It was from him that we knew the owner (who is still working in the restaurant) is over 80 years ago. The owner and the staff are all extremely friendly even they don’t really speak English. There is no English menu available but you can always find a way to order and communicate with them. You get a small class of bubble as a welcome drink once seated. I think this place deserves more rating.

I have eaten as god. I don’t know what the starters were, but i remember the cassoulet. Fantastic place, fantastic food, fantastic wine. I can’t tell about the price as someone paid for me.

Best fois gras in Paris! If I come back to Paris, this restaurant will be one of the reasons. Chef and servers are not fluent in English, but they are humorous and willing to listen to customers. Wines are very affordable. For the dessert, I recommend a chocolate mousse. cash only.

Google
Delicious food, delightful hosts, and well-decorated restaurant made for a wonderful lunch. Prices are definitely reasonable when quantity and quality are factored in (but they are definitely more expensive than what you can find in the neighborhood these days). The "plats du jour" are definitely recommended. No wonder it has been featured in the Michelin guide for so long! Don't skip on the "tarte aux poireaux" for starters and on the homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert!

Google
Absolutely amazing little gem. We loved our food and the snails, veal, rabbit and ice cream were to die for. We got the raisins with the vanilla ice cream and that was delish! Pls don’t double dip your spoons in the raisins as it’s shared with everyone. Can’t recommend this place enough

Yelp
You should realize you are basically REQUIRED to take two courses with wine. If you don't, you will be rebuked by the owner or even told to leave. So don't even try to come here if this condition is unacceptable to you. This doesnt bother me because I always order like that anyway. But don't set yourself up for a fight. You will have an unpleasant experience. The food is very good to excellent, altho order carefully as some items are very over-priced.

Yelp
Outstanding food and experience overall. The foie gras dish and veal dish were delicious. I left feeling nice and full. Good pricing for such delicious food and great service. Cute decor too. I am looking forward to returning to this restaurant again in the future.

Yelp
Came here on a friends recommendation. Food was excellent though they didn't seem all that enthused about Americans walking in. There were no other tourists in the place. Seriously, they had the best foie gras I've ever eaten. Our group also had the ox tail, fish and ratatouille, and a cassoulet. All great. The ratatouille in particular was excellent. We tried to order a grilled filet, but the owner said "no is not French, order these". Good advice and a great meal.

Yelp
Simply superb! My wife and I had lunch there several weeks ago. We have been coming to Paris for 25 years and have eaten in hundreds of establishments. This is old world and real deal. Reservations are generally a must and it is a cash only restaurant. Picture complimentary champaign, sausage and pate in advance of the plat. We chose the cassoulet which was first rate. Wine options are excellent and reasonable as was the tab. After 2 hours, we had no room for dessert. We can't wait to get back and try another offering.

Yelp
Warm, casual, family run Restaraunt with friendly service. Order the duck cassoulet. Sip on the Té Bheag whisky. Any dessert will do. And the fact that there are hardly any reviews in English should tell you something about its authenticity.

Yelp
This is truly one of the hidden gems of Paris. The patron is a classic --right out of central casting. We have eaten at over fifty different restaurants in Paris over the last 25 years, and this is one of our favorites. The food and atmosphere are country French . The house made pates, cassoulet, cabbage and cailllettes are all excellent.
