Six Caribbean Restaurants to Crawl in Inglewood - Eater LA

"One of the older Caribbean restaurants in Inglewood, Lee’s sports a weathered, lived-in look after all its years in service. The dining room might have seen better days, as the operation remains takeout only, but that hasn’t stopped regulars from helping the menu sell out of popular items like the curry goat, which had one order left when we stopped in. They graciously gave us the last portion, packed into a wide Styrofoam tray and served alongside a huge portion of bean-studded rice, steamed cabbage, plantains, and a dense fried dumpling. The spice-laden curry has the hefty gaminess of goat while retaining the meat’s heady characteristics. The menu boasts a range of Jamaican flavors, from jerk chicken and short ribs to escovitch fish." - Matthew Kang

Karuba’s Yardy Kitchen Review - Inglewood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This Jamaican spot on Centinela is a popular place for takeout dinner and lunch in Inglewood - for good reason. Pretty much any time of day, you’ll find a crowd of people who work nearby coming in to get their fix of saltfish and jerk chicken. Their jerk chicken combo plate is our go-to move here every time - it’s definitely spicy, but the roast plantains and rice and beans on the side balance it all out nicely. Be sure to get a side of oxtails - they’re fantastically tender, fall right off the bone, and come in a thick, fragrant gravy that we end up scooping up with a spoon when we’re finished." - Brett Keating

Inglewood NFL Stadium: How Local Restaurateurs Are Coping With the Development - Eater LA

"Opened in 1992 by Owen Sutherland, Lee’s Caribbean Restaurant has faced many neighborhood changes over the years. Sutherland is concerned about rising rents and the lack of a long-term lease, which may be due to the property being on the development route. Despite these challenges, the restaurant is known for its signature oxtail and jerk chicken." - Mona Holmes

Google
Authentic, delicious option for Jamaican food! Tender curry goat, spicy jerk chicken! My friend and I were on our way to the Beyoncé concert at SoFi and stopped here for lunch. Perfect meal that kept us satiated throughout the performance! Would eat here again for sure.

I called to let them know that the oxtails I received were pink inside and cold to the bite. The woman I spoke with told me that’s just how they cook them. I was shocked by the response. I ended up feeling sick and completely lost my appetite. This was my second time ordering from them — the first meal was okay, but this experience has definitely lost me as a customer. Very disappointing.

OMG! This Little Gem is tucked in the corner of a strip mall, found on a hunt for dinner fo 1. It's the first Friday of the year & I went to 2 take out restaurants that had a 40 min wait & no food at 6pm. The Jerk chicken is spicy & all that served with cabbage, peas & rice & fried plantains. Just to try, I also ordered a side of curry goat, when I say it took my breath away! The flavor was explosive & the meat fell off the bone, no gamey tast at all. WOW!

Princess Dot

Google
Lee's, you have spoiled me & I travel from Texas. People hear me; they serve some of the best curry goat I have ever had. Although this was the first place I tried curry and goat, I have been on a journey to find a place in the South that is anywhere near their taste. Also, the ginger pineapple juice is addictive! Everything about the meal is scrumptious, down to the plantain and vegetables.

I felt like family here. The wait wasn’t long for my order to arrive. I had Curry Goat 🐐,white rice 🍚 and Vegetables 🥦 with a side of Stew Chicken 🍗 . This is the definition of comfort food. I also had my favorite Pineapple 🍍 Ginger Soda 🥤

A taste of Jamaica in Every Bite: My amazing experience at Lee’s Kitchen Tucked away from the bustling streets, Lee’s Kitchen is a hidden gem that transports you straight to the heart of Jamaica with every bite . From the moment I walked inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere—infused with reggae rhythms, the aroma of allspice, and walls adorned with colorful Caribbean art, made me feel like I’d stumbled into a lively Kingston eatery. This place isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience, and the food? An absolute triumph of flavorful tradition. Let’s start with the jerk chicken, a dish that embodies the spirit of Jamaican cuisine. The chicken arrived tender and smoky, its charred edges shining with a marinade that balanced fiery scotch bonnet heat with earthy allspice, sweet hints of sweetness, and a whisper of thyme. Every bite was a masterpiece in spice layering—bold but never overwhelming, leaving just enough tingle on the tongue to keep me reaching for more. Paired with dirty rice, speckled with red beans and fragrant with coconut milk and spices, it was a harmony of comfort and complexity. Then came the oxtail a dish that deserves its own fanbase. The meat fell off the bone with a gentle nudge, luxuriating in a rich, velvety gravy that tasted like it had been simmered for days. Savory, slightly sweet, and deeply aromatic with garlic, ginger, and spices, it was served alongside the same irresistible dirty rice, which soaked up the sauce like a sponge. This was hearty, soul-nourishing food—the kind that makes you close your eyes and sigh with gratitude. What truly elevated Lee’s Kitchen, though, was its authentic Jamaican aura. The staff greeted guests like family, sharing recommendations with genuine warmth. The playlist was a seamless mix of classic reggae and dancehall. It’s rare to find a restaurant that feels both undiscovered and timeless, but Lee’s Kitchen nails it. Portions were generous, prices reasonable, and every dish tasted unmistakably homemade—no shortcuts, just passion, love, and tradition. Whether you’re a spice enthusiast or someone craving comfort food with depth, this spot delivers and provides. In a world of overhyped eateries, Lee’s Kitchen is a treasure. It’s more than a meal; it’s a celebration of Jamaican culinary spirit. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor: grab a seat, order the jerk chicken and oxtail, and let the flavors—and the good vibes—wash over you. One love, one meal, one happy stomach indeed!

Food is good. However, service needs improvement as there was only one employee taking orders and cooking.

Yelp
I haven't been here for over five years. I met Denise for the first time she was awesome hope I spelled it right I had the Brown Stew chicken and when I do brown stew I ask for curry sauce on my rice cause it's amazing the plantains melt in your mouth This place should be five star all the way Rock on Lee's G

Yelp
Looking from the outside this place is a bit sketchy. I'm not going to lie I was nervous about getting out. The service was good and the food was very authentic. The jerk chicken was a little spicy for me but very good. You know it was spicy, if I said it was spicy, because I love me some spicy food.

Yelp
Ok so I had a taste for some Caribbean food and I stopped at this place and lord hammercy them flavors was on point! This is a spot in Inglewood tucked away in the corner of the shopping center. The gentleman at counter was friendly and share a little bit about his Caribbean culture. I ordered stew chicken, rice and beans, and plantains ! Yes, I will be back..... delicious.. a plate full of food enough for lunch and dinner!

Tanisha W.

Yelp
The oxtails were soo tender you can eat with no teeth! LOL, but they run out of pattys fast so be prepared to miss out on those. But I have to agree they don't use enough seasoning, and I barely use seasonings, so for me to say it means sprinkle some damn salt on the food. It has the heavy earthy seasoning, but generally my nose roses when I eat black pepper or med taco sauce but didn't run with this. and I asked for wet rice i like the additional gravy on mine but they forgot sadface! Its kinda scary looking in the shopping center at night, but everyone hanging around the other stores were friendly so it eased my mind. If in neighborhood would I stop in again probably if for no other reason a beef an/or chicken patty and a Ting drink, but I would travel from LB there for food and I will travel for food!! I

Yelp
Buddy and I came here on our trip to SoFi stadium. We both enjoyed it so much we made it a two day lunch spot. Even with an event going on at SoFi we had issue issues with parking or wait time. There was a couple folks inside or taking orders to go but never felt crammed. My only issue inside would be that it felt too warm for me personally. The first day we just got the meat pies. One of each and both loved them. I personally enjoyed the little spice of the beef one more than the more curry kind of flavor from the chicken. But I ordered both on day two so both are def good! I also ordered some plantains and festival. I've had festival once in Jamaica and loved it, the places I've been to sense then have not been the same. Lees was hands down the closest. I'd order all of this again if I make my way back to them/SoFi stadium. The price was four meat pies, plantains, festival and two waters and a little tip was under $30 which felt like a solid amount of food for the price. Only improvements I'd say would make it better would be a cooler/less stuffy dining area.

Yelp
10.16.22 I like Jamaican food and this place has it . I had the chicken curry because the jerk chicken is too hot for me . Very clean and plenty of parking . A nice bar you can sit on high stools to eat at . NOT CHEAP but then Jamaican and Soul food never are . Give them a try, they claim a lunch special but charged me full dinner price at mid day so maybe you have to ask for it . Jamaican beer and other cool not cold drinks are available . -Nate

Yelp
The veritable and venerated Temple of Curry Goat. There is no other. Also the best jerk chicken I've EVER had anywhere, including in the Caribbean itself. I don't go near LAX or the SoFi stadium without stopping at Lee's.
google avatar

Drenda E.

Yelp
This place have authentic Jamaican food. I usually get the brown stewed chicken with rice and peas cabbage. Plaintains. So delish. The best so far. And the portions are ok but the price has increased significantly. The jerk chicken is good but too hot for me that isi will continue to go here until they are no more.

Yelp
First of all, everyone has an attitude when you walk in. This is normally something that ticks me off but when dealing with Jamaican cuisine, that is the ultimate sign of scrumptious food. 3 Signs you're about to be blown away when you go to a restaurant: 1. If the Seats look like an absolute war zone. 2. If the Hostess/Host has an attitude like they are mad you even walked in. 3. If there's a lot of old people in the restaurant, the food is consistently bussing because older folks don't really like change so they tend to stick to a certain place once they find out the food is good. They are doing some remodeling right now so the layout isn't too much to ride home about but it never has been a showstopper of a building. Very dark colors, there's like a haunted gum ball machine in the corner, old paint on the windows is chipping away, and the fridge desperately needs an upgrade because it's for sure older than me & I'm 21. Let's talk about that plate though. I'm an oxtail fanatic so of course I ordered the large. It comes with festival bread, cabbage, rice and peas, plantains, and the star of the show, Oxtails. I'd like to take a minute and point out how good the festival bread is because I had it at a place called Cecilia's Carribean Cuisine one time and I was genuinely concerned as to why they were allowed to serve such an atrocity. THIS is how festival is done. Crunchy and deep fried on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, sweet but not too much sugar. The cabbage was not over cooked and had a very fresh texture but a 'braised over night' taste with this umami flavor to it. Rice & Peas were the perfect bed to accompany the oxtails and that pool of gravy spooned over the rice will have your eyes rolling back. No exaggeration, that beef was serious business. I hear the wagyu and filet mignon talks but I've had them both and honestly, I feel like the price of the meat plays too much of a factor in the preparation. It seems like whenever a cut is more expensive, the chef gives less effort to detail. I've had filets burned, wagyu with no salt, tough sirloins, etc. - At this point, give me a braised oxtail over all that fancy shit any day. I would have given 5 stars but they forgot my plantains. Super good food though, if you're in the area try it out. It's right across from the SoFi stadium.

Yelp
Food is always excellent!!! I only go to Lee's for my Jamaican food. Oxtails are tender Jerky chicken has the best flavor!!

Yelp
I'm so happy there is another family operated restaurant that has survived COVID. I went to Lee's after visiting another local establishment, after craving Caribbean food for weeks. This restaurant didn't cut it for me. I appreciate them serving lunch until 4pm, I was able to get a small oxtail plate and it was a generous amount of food. That's 1 star. I didn't have to wait long at all for my food, maybe 5 minutes that's 1 star. The oxtails were the most TENDER oxtails I've ever had at a restaurant ever 1 star. Now...There just wasn't enough seasoning for me...no salt in anything, no taste of browning or herbs, the meat, the rice, the cabbage....and the curry chicken pattie....just bland. I wanted to love this place. Hopefully it was just an off day for them.
google avatar

Trenell S.

Yelp
Good alternative for local Jamaican Food. All the items and choices on the menu are good, Patties, Oxtails are good and serving is plentiful

Deborah M.

Yelp
After my first jerk chicken dinner I was hooked and ate there for a whole week. This was 17 years ago. I don't know what they do but it is the absolute best place for jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantains and cabbage. The jerk chicken gravy is the BEST!!!! No one else that I have experience comes close. No one.

Yelp
Good was absolutely delicious. My favorite is the curry goat and oxtails. Service was extremely helpful and food was served hot

Yelp
My food has always been delicious every time I go to Lee's. I would recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
There's got to be the worst tasting and worst looking brown stew chicken I've ever seen ever in life or is she down on the ground

Yelp
Been here a few times, need some feel good food go here get oxtail with the pineapple ginger drink in the middle of your work week.

Yelp
I placed a pick up order for this location. I showed up a bit early and even though the sign on the door said open the door was locked with a metal gate. There were people loitering around the sidewalk in front and the car I parked next to was dealing cannabis out of the trunk! I tried calling after I left and someone answered. I heard noises like a kitchen in the background like it was busy but was difficult for me to reconcile the sound of an active restaurant to what I saw - an empty restaurant with chairs stacked on tables. According to the lady on the phone they had another door but it wasn't very obvious to me where this other door was located. With the sketchy men hanging around I didn't feel safe to try further investigation.
google avatar

J. X.

Yelp
So disappointed in this old food that was delivered. They didn't have fish so I got chicken and that wasn't available as a dinner so I had to buy it a la cart. The peas and rice turned out to be day old red beans and rice and there was exactly ONE sliced carrot in my meal. This place is a joke and they have fallen so far from where they once stood. Shut this place down and put the owner out of his misery.
google avatar

Brittani F.

Yelp
My favorite place for their jerk chicken! Wow! Extra gravy please I literally only come here even after trying different ones in LA. No better place for Jamaican
google avatar

Schwarz C.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. This establishment is disgusting. The food contain fats snd oils that were no longer fresh which gave it an unpleasant smell. I also found out there's an infestation of rats in this plaza I asked nicely for a refund after letting the gentleman know that this indeed is not jerk chicken. Instead the man curse me out telling me this is how you prepare jerk. Mister, have you gone mad, I understand you are in a predominantly African American neighborhood and you can throw black pepper and convince them this is jerk, not their fault. For a native Caribbean, Flatbush, Brooklyn raised individual please STOP perpetuating a bloody fraud! Furthermore what happen to customer service. For all of your customers who frequents this establishment and potential customers, if you want real Caribbean food, please visit The Jerk Spot in Culver City and Wi Jammin for curry goat etc. and you will understand. Just plain disgusting, the chicken still had large feathers on it and it smelled really bad. Please save your time and money.
google avatar

Decia S.

Yelp
Good food, great price. I have it three stars because the outside surroundings are very dirty, making it feel very uncomfortable to go in. Once you're inside, it's not very lit, half the space seems deserted with the chairs on the table, shelves empty BUT the food is good and the staff is friendly. I'd be uncomfortable going here at night.
google avatar

Kyyah A.

Yelp
I was so skeptical of this place because of the most recent reviews. I thought to myself "forget these damn reviews man I need some oxtail with rice & peas!" It was Labor Day and I didn't feel like driving all over Inglewood for food. My stomach was screaming for nourishment. The lot itself is questionable but inside is fine. I ordered the Oxtail Dinner which was $18 in total with tax (typical cost). The plantain was okayyyyy, a smidge too mushy for my liking. When I get Oxtail from other surrounding places (like little kingstons on slauson) the oxtail meat literally slides off the bone. These oxtails were absolutely delicious they just weren't as tender as I am use to. The rice was good and the cabbage was okay. Its a decent place to get Jamaican food! I would go back if I ever get the crazing again. Would it be my first choice? No, but I still would go back
google avatar

Teoy T.

Yelp
So, in major need of some veggies I decided to stop by Lee's as I was in the area getting delicious keto cake from Sweet Red Peach next door. I've been here a few times, usually for the hit or miss ox tails dinner. The oxtail portions are always minimal but with the sides of rice and Peas and plantain is never an issue. Service will s always meh. Today I order a small side of cabbage. I thought the price seemed a bit high but figured it would be a hefty amount of cabbage. WRONG. With the zero flavor and a very small order, I hardly think $6 is reasonable for what I received. See photos.

Yelp
Great food! It reminds me of home and I'm glad I found this place. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
10/10 recommend ! I come at least once a week . Maybe even twice depending if I raved about it to someone else and they want to try it with me! Oxtail dinner is a must ! They will not disappoint
google avatar

Duronn d.

Yelp
This place is the worst. They have drugs users & sellers posted in the front. The food taste days old and ALWAYS comes out cold. As soon as you order it you get it. COLD. Please don't waste your time going here. Unless you want to buy drugs out front.
google avatar

Dawn T.

Yelp
I came on sunday 25 mins before they closed ask what they had left. I order the dinner oxtail plate and side of jerkey chicken. They extremely shorted me on oxails for it to be $ 16.50 and my food was luke warm. Then my jerkey chicken was room temp cold like it had been sitting all day. I paid $27.00 for a disappoint. The other guest were complaining to that order before or after me. ** the girl that works the front was nice and try to help. I eat Jamaican food all the time... I wouldnt suggest this place if it was the last place on earth to eat Honselty !!!

Yelp
imposters imposters i oredered food on postmates and i received this bull crap. real carribean people know that curry chicken is to he cut a ceratin way. not only did i have a wing in my plate it was no veggies, upon contacting the restaurant to make them aware, that i had not gotten what i was expecting they said i had to specify that i wanted it ‍. i was under the impression that all reallll jamaican plates came with a (fried cabbage) vegetable option automatically. this is a mess.
google avatar

S K.

Yelp
I was a bit skeptical because Lee's Carribean has only 3.5 stars. Being the snobby yelper that I am (I never go to any restaurants below 4 stars), it look me awhile to finally try this Caribbean place... Mostly 'cause I have already tried the other 3 in the area and felt adventurous. I'm by no means an expert nor connoisseur of any kind. I just like eating Carribean food. I'm writing this review to explain why the perceived "negatives" are actually good signs that Lee's is a great Caribbean restaurant. It is a bit intimidating when you first approach the restaurant. There are a bunch of people smoking weed outside...I'm guessing they are regulars since they were mentioned in another Yelp review. Thanks to them, we were able to locate the second entrance into the restaurant. Tip 1: go pass the first gates/locked entrance to the second entrance near the corner. When you enter the restaurant, don't be offended by the lack of welcome or service. From my experience, the laidbackness is a sign of good food to come (one of the best Carribean food I have had is from a guy answering "yes" when we ask when the restaurant closes). After a few moments of staring at the guy in the kitchen, a lady emerged to help us. We ordered takeout (super easy online btw) and she said to wait 5 min. A good sign- that means the food is freshly scooped. You'd think that's bad because it's not made to order. But when it's scooped, that means the meat has been marinating in the juices all day- the meat typically will be more flavorful, juicy, and fall-off-the-bone. We also ordered a pattie. After waiting 5 min, we got our order. OMG! Our stereotyping was so right! The food was sooooooo good. We ordered the jerk chicken mini. Though it was a mini, it was packed with rice and beans. There was a big piece of delicious jerk chicken- great flavors and a great spice level. We also ordered the large curry goat. Wow! From the veggies, to the plantains, the sweet dough (not sure what it's called), rice and beans, and the curry goat, all was cooked to perfection- great flavors, tender and juicy meat. The portions for the price is pretty generous. The beef pattie was also delicious- nice and flaky and the filling was warm and also had a good spice level. To sum it up, if you are thinking of coming to this "Hole in the wall" mom-and-pop like restaurant, don't let the actual hole in the ceiling scare you off! Lee's is a must try! No gimmicks, no flashiness. Just good Carribean food!

Deborah F.

Yelp
Food is awesome here, I usually get the oxtail and the curry goat. So flavorful! Portion is great too. The chief has their recipes down, always taste the same, thats what I love about lee's.

Yelp
Lee's Caribbean Restaurant is the perfect place for Caribbean cuisine in Inglewood CA. All the food is made fresh and fired up once your order is placed. The jerk chicken is my go to. The chicken is always prepared nicely and the jerk sauce is delicious and spicy. Be sure to get the jerk chicken plate, it comes with rice, cabbage, and plantains. The oxtails are also very tasty and great portion sizes too. Be sure to try both the chicken and beef patties, they are the perfect side item. This place is perfect for dine in or take out. There is plenty of seating on the inside of you decide to dine in. There is also plenty of Caribbean drinks, desserts, and snack selections to add to your order. If you're looking for a good Caribbean food place in Inglewood, this is the go to spot.

Yelp
Not sure what's up with the negative reviews. Just realized I live around the corner walking distance from here, but with the current circumstances decided to postmates. Got the Oxtail and Pineapple Ginger drink and they both smacked. Although it was a bit pricey (About $30 for Oxtail plate and drink) the portion was big enough for two meals. Food was great, eating the leftovers now. Oxtail was juicy and fell off the bone and the sauce added flavor to the entire plate. Pineapple Ginger is the most refreshing drink ever. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS. SUPPORT BLACK OWNED BUSINESS

Yelp
My favorite Jamaican restaurant. My family and I been going here for years. I'm Belizean and I feel lee's has all the Belizean's oxtail beat. They give you good portion, I always ask for extra gravy on the side. The food taste like someone auntie cooked it in her kitchen. Even though I know the chef is a man at the restaurant(lol).

M D.

Yelp
I've been patronizing this Jamaican food Resturant for over 25 years. The food has been well prepared & delicious over the years. The steamed veggies are a favorite among my family and the rice/peas fluffy not sticky. I enjoy the Curry Goat & Cow foot soup the most. The Festival bread & Plantains are delicious accompaniments to the plates but they are a bit stingy with the portion. Generally only 1 small ball of the Festival bread & 2 small pieces of plantain are given. They also charge for the tiny cup of hot sauce which they did not do in previous years. Prices have increased quite a bit, but the great tasting food keeps me returning, just not as often. I would suggest returning to giving customers condiments without charging but maybe limiting the amount given to at least two. If in Inglewood you should check out Lee's Carribean.

Yelp
I've passed by this place for YEARS without ever stopping in. Ordered on a whim through Postmates. I really should have just gone to bed hungry because the next 2 days I spent regretting it dealing with stomach pain. All the food was beyond dry. Festival had no sweetness, was extremely dense, overworked and dry. Rice and peas were dry and tasted like they'd been scraped from the sides of the pot after sitting all day. Plantain wasn't even slightly caramelized. Vegetables were bland and flavorless. Literally the worst Caribbean food I think I've had. I'm actually not going to even downplay real Caribbean food by putting this in the same category. Just save your money. Too many other legit Caribbean joints around to ever end up here. Seriously. Yuck. Complete trash.

Yelp
DAYUM does this place give you a LOT of food! Arguably the best/ONLY caribbean place around LA, they serve up some delicious homestyle cookin', drawing different foods from different areas in the caribbean with heavy Jamaican influence. I had the braised short rib and that meat was SUPPLE ya'll. So juicy, that melt in your mouth meat. You can tell they slow cooked that mofo for hourrrssssss. It was served up with a hefty serving of rice, a couple sweet plantains a dumpling (but the caribbean kind like fried dough, not the chinese kind like a bun) and some greens salad. Tried the oxtail too, also dope. They sell snacks and spices too. nom nom. That one meal lasted me THREE. SO MUCH FOOD. SO GOOD. Ample parking in the parking lot.
google avatar

Tae G.

Yelp
Ehhh...I hate to change my review, but food has definitely changed. I'm saddened because this has been my favorite spot for a few years. Ownership has changed hands and flavors are not similar...at all. The festival bread, which was my favorite, is now a round shape and tastes bland. I asked for curry potatoes and carrots with my other dinner items. Veggies and plantain are still good. Rice was fresh. I got a much smaller portion of peas and rice, which tastes different as well. Even the curry was a lot thicker than normal and just lacked that kick and salty flavor I like. Customer service is A+! I may have to officially make Will's Jamican food my next best spot if it hasn't changed since the passing of the owner. Bummer...

Yelp
Very easy ordering process very generous portions very reasonable pricing... Can't ask for much more! The woman at the front was very friendly, kind, informative, and helpful. I came with two of my kids and they were a little rowdy and she totally was understanding and patient which I greatly appreciate! The food was really good I've had jerk several times and I've made it myself but it's never tasted the way it tastes here... It's a little spicier than the other places but it has this like barbecue undertone to it I really enjoyed it

Yelp
My wife really bragged about how good the food is. Getting our food was quick, however after driving home and digging in, the cabbage was undercooked. I love spicy foods and I normally put Franks Hot Sauce on everything but when I dove in for the rice and jerk chicken, my mouth was on fire. The sauce was so hot to the point we weren't able to taste the food. The plantains were the best. I might try again in the future.

Yelp
Omggg where do I begin!! Let's start with history. Been coming here for years. My go to, use to come here and leave here with a happy full belly. A lot has changed. The cook in the back is now a woman who is very skimp on the plates. Don't expect to get full. Now tonight I called around 8:25 knowing that they close at 9. I specifically asked if they had more Jerk chicken. I was given the go ahead to come. Arrived 20 minutes later and the door was locked and so happens they ran out of Jerk in 20 minutes. The cold part was they had to go foil wrap food in the window lol. It wasn't that they sold out they wanted to take food home. Said all that to say, this place isn't what it use to be at all. I am pregnant, hungry and wasted 20 mins on them when I should have went with my first mind. "LIL KINGSTON" on Slauson.... I know now.

Yelp
As a Chef of Jamaican cuisine in business for over twenty nine years,I was very disappointed about the Brown Stew Chicken I got when I ordered on 11/6. I was the only one in the restaurant, The food took seven minutes and when I got it, the food was warmed up in the microwave. It tasted awful. That tells me it was under temperature before going in the microwave. Really!!! The kitchen help should understand the steam table must be kept on until the kitchen is closed. Come on management step up your game this is unacceptable.

Yelp
I really only go for the jerk chicken and beef patties now. I'm glad that the rude woman that used to work at the register is no longer there but the service is fast and the food is fresh ( most of the time)

Yelp
Food tasted weird, like when do you stew chicken in a tomato style sauce? are you even Caribbean?!?!? But the plantains were good so an extra star! Also I ordered through grub hub, bought soursap juice but they didnt have and they never do (yet on the menu) and didnt offer any other drinks although my food was paid for...didnt refund me like they said they would either. Will not go back.

Yelp
Ordered a large ginger & pineapple juice ($8 which is over priced anyways) and it literally didn't have any ginger in it!! Asked for my money back and they denied it because they said I was "wasting their product". The old lady in there is not even Jamaican and has nooo knowledge of Jamaican food! I will NEVERRR COME BACK TO THIS WEAK ASS Establishment. Ocho Rio Jamaican Restaurant is better and cleaner anyways!!

Yelp
Good Jamaican food. Delivered fresh and tasty. Only comment is perhaps more peas in the peas and rice.
