"You would be well advised to stop off at the Selosse family estate. Both having worked for Anne - Sophie Pic, Stéphane Rossillon (in the kitchen) and his wife (front of house) create a single set menu based on choice ingredients. Served in a charming guesthouse atmosphere; when the sun is out you can enjoy the large terrace. Superb wine list." - Michelin Inspector
"A quieter countryside destination recommended for visitors seeking authenticity and more confidential, off-the-beaten-path experiences within the Champagne region." - Danika Leminski
"A puckishly hip ten-room hotel opened by Anselme Selosse, one of the great small Champagne makers, in a handsome nineteenth-century neoclassical manor house with sweeping views of the vineyards. A postmodern riff on conventional château style. French designer Bruno Borrione, who once worked with Philippe Starck, furnished the spacious lounge and dining room with sleek contemporary pieces while highlighting the parquet floors and white-painted moldings. Rooms are plush, well-lit cocoons in warm, acidic earth tones." - Lindsey Tramuta, Mary Winston Nicklin
Where to Eat and Drink in Champagne, France | Eater
"Opened in 2011 by Anselme Selosse and his wife Corinne, this bistronomy‑focused hotel‑restaurant sits in the heart of the vines and was one of the region’s early efforts to offer immersive, producer‑led lodging and dining; it helped shift Champagne tourism from perfunctory cellar tours and gift shops toward thoughtful food‑and‑wine hospitality tied directly to vineyard life." - Lindsey Tramuta
When you arrive at a hotel on a cold, foggy day with jet lag and a long drive you are sometimes a little weary, but when the welcoming smile of Marie greets you then you’re instantly in a good mood! Every hotel needs a Marie to greet their guests! She remained helpful, chatty and smiling throughout our stay suggesting places in Reims, confirming bookings and just generally being kind.|The same goes for Nathalie who runs the floor of the restaurant with grace and a smile whilst her husband and his crew create amazing 4 course dinners to rival any restaurant we have been to so far (including multi Star Michelin establishments) make sure you stay here on the days the restaurant is open as you are in for a treat (at a crazily low price of 80 euros!) for the tastebuds as well as a fantastic wine list of course featuring the Selosse champagnes. If you can have the “Substance” I highly recommend it.|The rooms are as elegant as the people who run the hotel, paired back and Scandi in design. We had Skoll in the first floor (one flight of stairs) with its own little balcony overlooking the gardens the vines beyond. Super comfy bed with chocolate treats.|There is no coffee making facilities in the room but both mornings I went downstairs and Nathalie or Marie made us a pot of coffee to bring back to the room to awaken us before a day of champagne tasting!|Now many come here to have a visit to the cave with Mr Selosse himself and we were lucky enough to be able to do this, and hat a treat as he doesn’t talk about how champagne is made (which we all know after visiting all the other champagne houses!) he talks at length about his philosophical way of growing the grapes and allowing them to grow and breathe . It was an amazing couple of hours culminating in an extensive tasting. We had the gorgeous American lady (I’m so sorry your name escapes me but I blame you for being too generous in the champagne pours!) who can manage to listen then translate at speed all with a good sense of humour!|You really do need to stay here when visiting the region, I promise you will thank me later!

Very nice! Wonderful experience, the room and stay is good, the dinner is perfect. Also the wine of course is the best in the world. Mr. Sellose is very humble and knowledgeable, learned and enjoyed a lot during the trip and stay. Definitely will come back some time.

“It was a fantastic dinner and stay. The aperitif meeting was perfect, and the meal and wine at the restaurant were excellent. The only downside was that we couldn’t purchase a wider variety of Jacques Selosse Champagne. It would be great if this could be improved.”

This hotel is the perfect place to experience ideal healing. It has all the qualities of a great boutique hotel. The two ladies at the reception were elegant, cheerful, and incredibly kind. The restaurant manager and the chef were also outstanding. I've never felt such a strong desire to return to a hotel before. I came to realize that this hotel itself is a true source of French pride. Thank you.

I rarely write reviews of hotels or restaurants, but for Les Avises, I'm more than compelled.||The grounds, room, food, and service were impeccable!||I broke my ankle while in epernay, and they, not only helped me to and from my room and cab, but were attentive to my every need. Bravo! Ill be back for both special occasions, and casual visits. ||Thank you Marie, Elise, and Cristal!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Les Avises. We felt very welcome and the room was comfortable and quiet. The highlight was the exquisite dinner and of course, the Champagne ! Next time, will stay an extra night so we don’t feel as rushed and can absorb more of the beautiful ambiance.

Les Avises was an ideal location for our cellar visits in La Cote des Blancs. The house had been beautifully restored by the Selosse family with contemporary internal features. We received a very warm welcome from Elise and Felix as well as Muscat, the wonderful little dog! Our room (Tchin) was large, airy and extremely well serviced. Stephane's cooking was outstanding and generous, and Nathalie looked after us so well in the restaurant. We were privileged to be able to experience a private cellar visit and talk by Anselme Selosse. Whilst our first time at Les Avises, we will definitely return on our next trip to Champagne.

Nice boutique hotel in the champagne region. A must do experience for champagne and wine enthusiasts.
Hotel itself is small, cozy, beautifully decorated. In good weather days, coffee or apero in the inner garden is wonderful. Hotel also offers dinner, with a tailored daily menu. Staff is friendly and helpful to accommodate requests and guide their guests to enjoy the region.
The gem experience, without a doubt, is the champagne tasting. It’s done only in selected days for hotel guests, so it’s recommended to liaise with the hotel in advance. The tasting conducted by M. Selosse himself, which was one of the most interesting and enjoyable wine tastings we had. M. Selosse takes you through a journey to understand his philosophy and art behind his champagnes, culminating in their tasting

Our lunch at Les Avises was by far the best meal of our trip to Champagne. The lunch is a set menu.
The appetizer was a melon, proscuitto, burrata combination with pesto. The main was beef with pommes puree and vegetables. The dessert was the perfect ending to a perfect meal, a light pistachio cream with nuts.
Though each course was relatively simple, they were all delicious and perfectly done, and the price isn't too outrageous when you consider the quality. Highly recommended.
