The SF Sandwich & Park Power Rankings - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The top of Lafayette Park is where to sit on a bench and romanticize your SF life. But not without a trip to Limoncello first. Their sandwiches have flawless, high-quality Italian fillings—they’ll make you pledge your lunch allegiance to this spot forever. Go with the Mafioso, a knockout loaded with mortadella, prosciutto, bacon, and turkey, plus pepperoncinis for that zippy tang." - julia chen 1, lani conway, patrick wong

The 20 Best Restaurants In Nob Hill

"Limoncello is the neighborhood’s Italian deli heaven. The sandwiches coming out of this heavily trafficked counter hit the ideal ratios between bread, filling, and toppings. Classic meat options, like hot coppa and thinly shaved mortadella, along with other Italian standbys including eggplant parmesan and spicy marinara meatballs, are all fantastic. While you wait for your handheld lunch to be sliced and stuffed, you can wander the market aisles that are stocked with tons of Quadratini and San Pellegrino." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, lani conway

The Best Sandwich Spots In San Francisco

"At Limoncello in Lower Nob Hill, sausages hang over a loaded deli case, shoppers browse the aisles of shelves stocked with every Quadratini and San Pellegrino flavor, and friendly staff wraps up sandwiches behind the counter. Those sandwiches are the main reason we return to this Italian deli as often as Adele sings a tear-jerking ballad. The fillings are classic Italian, from tissue-thin mortadella and hot coppa to eggplant parmesan and spicy marinara meatballs. We’re always pulled toward the Mafioso. Getting the stunner stuffed with mortadella, prosciutto, bacon, and turkey, plus pepperoncinis for added tang is the best decision you’ll make today." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

The Best Shops to Get Picnic Supplies in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Limoncello is an institution, known for super stacked sandwiches, gourmet Italian products, imported wines, and owner Jalal Heydari’s relationship with the store’s Pacific Heights neighborhood. The beloved sandwich shop announced plans to expand with a second shop on the corners of 24th and Bryant Streets, lucky for the Mission." - Paolo Bicchieri

Google
It's an Italian market place with great selection of drinks, cooking ingredients, desserts, sweets, and deli shop. There is a coffee shop in the middle for coffee drinks and pastries. Deli shop makes great sandwiches, pizza and pastas. Great place for a quick bite and exotic shopping! There are limited indoor and few tables outdoor seating. Good for kids, seniors, small gathering. I'll stop by again for sure for Italian Mortadella sandwich!

Google
I love the vibe! Best customer service, cool vibe, and you will have lots of options for the type delicious sandwich you are looking for! I got the Pastrami sandwich and it was out of this world. In addition, it has a small shop right next to it for buying some drink or grocery you need. Totally recommended.

Google
Hands down one of the best italian sandwiches I’ve had in the city. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable - having the tables near the adjacent grocery store adds to the experience. The big windows give you a view of the busy streets as well. As for the sandwiches - we the peppers and herbs add a nice kick to the cold cut meats and the chewy, fresh bread completes the meal. I’d highly recommend calabrese.

This place will teleport you straight to Italy. Incredible experience, everything is fresh and delicious. They have gluten free options. I ordered The Speciale on gluten free bread. Chefs kiss! They also serve beer and wine. 10/10 recommend

Limoncello is a hidden gem that delivers an authentic delicatessen experience. From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel like a regular. What sets this place apart is their thoughtful curation of products from local suppliers – their commitment to supporting regional vendors shines through in the quality of their offerings. The sandwich menu deserves special mention. Each creation showcases the fresh, high-quality ingredients they're known for. While their entire menu is tempting, the sandwiches are truly standout items that shouldn't be missed. The welcoming team enhances the entire experience, demonstrating genuine enthusiasm for their products and creating an environment that makes you want to linger. It's the kind of place that reminds you why local establishments are so special. I'm already planning my next visit, and I'm confident this charming spot will become a regular destination for anyone seeking a memorable lunch experience!

Google
This is a beautiful little store and deli. The sandwiches melted my brain. It's one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten in my entire life and sandwiches are my ultimate favorite food. 10/10 would 100% recommend. The sandwiches are massive with generous fillings. So flavorful with crusty, chewy, delicious, perfect bread. If you haven't eaten at limoncello, are you even living?

Google
Rarely in this part of the city but I was today and came by because I’ve seen them on best sandwich lists. Definitely what I was hoping for! This is their Calabrese. Was asked to leave a review and why not.

Best sandwiches around!!! Come here everytime I visit SF. Love the Goodfella and Siciliano sandwich. You have to pick up some salami to go too!

Yelp
Food was amazing and service was quick and efficient!! The seating outside was also very cute.

Yelp
Limoncello is an absolute gem! Their sandwiches are incredible--fresh, packed with flavor, and very generous in portion size. They even gave our dog a full piece of bacon, which was such a sweet touch. The wine selection is excellent, and they carry fresh pasta, a great variety of olives, and other gourmet finds that make it feel like more than just a deli. The outdoor seating is lovely, with both sunny and shaded spots--perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and a bite to eat. Everything we tried was fantastic, and we can't wait to come back. This is definitely going to become one of our regular spots!

Yelp
Two thumbs! Companion has been wanting to take me out for a deli sandwich for quite some time. He has his list of spots in the city, Limoncello being one of them. We were able to finally go and I was quite content! What's fun about Limoncello is that it operates as an Italian market and a deli. The shop is on the corner and decently sized, with narrower walkways for the market and open space for the deli. Highly recommend perusing around the store since there's a lot of cool Italian goods! We came for the food and walked up the steps to the deli. You can see all of their meat displayed along with a menu on the wall boasting their sandwiches, salads, and other dishes. For those who get food, they have counter seating plus a few tables outdoors. Service by the staff was friendly and efficient. They're also dog-friendly inside, and the pup had fun sniffing around! I honestly don't eat deli meat often or crave an Italian sandwich, so this was a treat! I got the Siciliano Sandwich, Dutch Crunch, No Cheese and Pepperoncini. Companion had the Goodfella, Dutch Crunch, No Pepperoncini. They mixed up our sandwiches and didn't label them correctly so it took us a while to figure it out. Once we did we dug in and it was so good! The quality and freshness of the meat and veggies were superb! My companion commented that they loaded the greens up compared to other times he'd been there. The sandwiches themselves are massive and I only ate half of mine, so it's great to save for later! Limoncello has a few locations in the city, the Sutter Street one being their original. Highly recommend coming here to try their sandwiches or just walking around the shop. Parking around here is limited to street parking only.

Yelp
Still one of my favorite sandwiches in the city! Solid selection, service and quality. This last time I ordered ahead since I was on a time crunch but needed to pick up a package nearby. The online ordering was great and the sandwich was ready way before the time I was given, so I appreciated that greatly. The market has great Italian products as well as a grab & go section, liquor and wine selection.

Yelp
If you're looking for good picnic food in the Nob hill area, Limoncello is a great option. The ingredients are really fresh and every sandwich is a good size and super filling. They also have a really extensive menu and tons of options. The attached Italian market is also perfect for picking up snacks and drinks!

Yelp
I get my nails done a few doors down so I frequently stop in for a drink or sandwich depending on what I have going on that day. I love Italian sandwiches (who doesn't), so I've been working my way around their menu to find one I love. To be honest, some of them aren't for me but I recently had the Mafiosa and I think that will be my go to. Sandwich: I'd say there's a 50/50 chance they get the customizations right on my order. It's a shame I don't like tomatoes because they're looked beautiful, but the Mafiosa without mortadella hit the spot. This was my first meal of the day so I polished it off, but you could easily split one with a friend or save half for lager. Drink menu: They have a few wines and beers available for dining in. This time around I had the STS Pilsner which was good. My other go to is a sparkling wine. The service is no nonsense and the owner is friendly. They have a market of specialty goods that I always browse but haven't found a reason to buy yet. It's not inexpensive so the inconsistency at the counter is annoying, but it won't stop me from returning.

Yelp
SIMPLY JUST THE PERFECT LITTLE DELI in sf. Was immediately welcomed by the most energetic and friendly workers the second we stepped in. Really fun layout with the grocery store on the bottom and deli in the back. We got The Mafioso Sandwich on a Ciabatta Roll and added pesto and mozzarella and let me tell you--it was the most beautiful and perfectly toasted sandwich with the freshest ingredients. We got our sandwich to go and ate it at Dolores Park not too far away which made it the most ideal picnic meal. Even though the sandwich was a little expensive for a deli (about $24 after tax n tip), was absolutely worth it. I can't WAIT to go back soon!!

Yelp
Was craving a sandwich so my friend and I walked from Japantown to Limoncello because it was closest to where we were heading to next and it was the only sandwich shop that was still open around 5pm. I'm so glad I got to try this place as it was in my bookmarks when I used to live in sf very briefly. I got it to-go and ate it a couple hours later and it was still so delicious!!! The ratio of meat to greens was immaculate and all of the ingredients paired so well together. They do NOT skimp on making the sandwich big af. I ate half and was pretty satisfied. I also love how it's a deli/spirits store so you're able to buy additional snacks or wine! They even have a section for frozen/fridged fresh pasta noodles! If I'm ever back in SF and in the area, I'll be sure to come back as there was no wait!!

Yelp
Large and cute deli filled with tons of Italian foods. We came for sandwiches. My hubs and I actually just got one and shared because the sandwiches are huge. We got the Mafioso which has prosciutto, turkey and mortadella. It's $19 but worth it for the size. A 10 for the sandwich, it was fresh and very tasty, the bread (which imo is the most important part was perfect) we also go the feta cheese and beet salad on a bed of arugula. It was fresh , the dressing was perfect. It was a bit short on the beets and cheese but a very good salad all the same. We also looked at the pastry counter and decided on a piece of tiramisu and a cannoli. I'm a bit of a tiramisu and cannoli snob. Both were pretty average. The tiramisu was lacking flavor. I couldn't taste any rum which is an important part of tiramisu and I'd say it was a 4 out of 10. The cannoli which they make in house, was a bit better but still lacking flavor. As far as service, the person making the sandwich wasn't very friendly and the younger guy at the counter was a bit surly like he didn't want to be there. Not very friendly to us but before us, he was talking and laughing with an older couple in another language , I think they were friends of the owner. All in all, I would definitely come back here for the fantastic sandwiches and salad.

Yelp
Stopped into this spot for a last minute lunch need, I've heard great things about the sandwiches here so I figured why not! I got the Porchetta, based off the recommendation of the worker, and it was pretty good. I do wish the bread was toasted, and the price tag was pretty hefty (20 bucks with a tip) but given the fact it had fresh mozzarella in it, I can understand. It wasn't the best sandwich I've ever had, but it got the job done and I could tell all the ingredients were fresh.

Yelp
Place is very quaint deli and small bodega style grocery. The sandwiches were pretty good not my favorite ever and for the price were a little expensive. But the setting was nice. The service was friendly and the food was serviceable.

Evan R.

Yelp
This place was super rude. At the same time I was ordering on DoorDash, I called and asked for no mustard on my sandwich since it wasn't an option through the app. He proceeded to put me on hold for ten minutes, then when he finally came back said it wasn't possible since the sandwich was already made.

Yelp
Ambiance... beautiful store. Great for grabbing lunch salads, sandwiches , wine etc. Service... well run multi staff business. I placed order online and still had a wait, but they were very busy. Food.. what I ordered was just ok, but the sandwich did have high end quality items added. This is great store for high end Italian Deli.
google avatar

Yelp
It's like a staycation for lunch, the decor is reminiscent of a corner deli/market in Italy... Order 1 of many signature samiches and the maestros get right to work on creating your bundle of joy, a delectable cornucopia of ingredients layered in an artful presentation of colors and flabors... a delicious Sammy indeed! I am already contemplating the next signature sammmy to sample. They have plenty of Italian pantry goods and assorted beers (Pliny), wine and even Top shelf Liquor for sale and LavAzza coffee bar too! There is counter seating for about 12 and few tables outside for sunny dayz... Mangia!

Harry L.

Yelp
I love you guys. I really do, but the last time I ordered a meatball sandwich, it was bad. The meatballs were not heated throughout. The cheese was cold and cut up into small cubes for some reason. There were barely enough meatballs and cheese to cover the bread. Not much sauce either. A meatball sub should be a hot gooey mess, preferably baked in the oven, not microwaved.
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
I'll always be a little bias for limoncello because I met the owner once who was incredibly hospitable and had memorable recommendations, but even that aside, I love how it doubles as a place for substantial meals (fast casual) and a grocery store with high quality Italian goodies. I looove limoncello with a passion and the people are always sooo friendly and warm!
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Got the porchetta sandwich on dutch crunch bread for around $20 post tax -- quite pricey but it's a huge sandwich. Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the balance of fillings or the bread. I expected the dutch crunch to be a bit more flavorful, but it didn't add much except texture. There was a bit too much arugula which overpowered the meat. I liked the sundried tomatoes and the olive spread, but overall I think I've had better sandwiches in SF. It was sufficiently filling but I'd order a different sandwich next time.
google avatar

Tim H.

Yelp
This is an Italian deli that also sells a variety of stuff, but most known for their sandwiches. 3 locations in SF. I got the Cuban sandwich for $17. I thought the sandwich was good, but not extraordinary. High quality and fresh ingredients, large size, reasonably priced. I'm guessing the sandwiches are all made the same way since I wasn't asked about the type of bread, cheese, etc. Order was ready in about 5 mins. There was about 4 beers on tap. There's a bit of counter seating on the upper level and standing counter areas on the lower level. There's also some 2 top tables outside as well. It's an order and seat yourself type of place. Street parking was plentiful and the shop was pretty empty on a Sunday night. Good, but didn't blow my mind

Yelp
I have heard a lot of hype about this place from my friends living in SF, as well as on social media so when I came into town I thought I would check it out. When I walked in I immediately got very excited. The whole store is filled with high quality ingredients, there are HUGE sausages hanging from the ceiling, there is tons of fresh stuff in the deli cases, overall looks like a really cool, and upscale Italian deli. My girlfriend and I split a couple sandwiches, and unfortunately, we were somewhat disappointed. Calabrese Sandwich 2/5 Speciale Sandwich 2/5 I am going to give a joint review on the sandwiches because as far as we could tell when comparing, we either mistakenly gave us the same order, or there is literally no difference in the menu items (see the pictures attached). Overall these sandwiches are filling, and that's about it. For $15 + a pop, I expect to get something that is better than a sandwich I can make at home in 5 minutes. There's pretty much nothing going on with these sandwiches. Bread was somewhat stale, and hard to chew (we had the Ciabatta). They specifically promised us the bread would be hollowed out and spread with sauce so it would have lots of flavor, but this was just a lie. Super thick bread and no sign of sauce for miles. Made the sandwich just super bland and hard to swallow. Make sure you get a drink to wash it down. I did ask for some sauce to make the sandwich a bit more palatable and it definitely helped. The lady at the counter was nice enough to give me a thing of Calabrian chili sauce which took the sandwich from a 1 star to a 2. She was definitely very passive aggressive however in letting me know that they normally charge $3 extra for the tablespoon of sauce I received. Definitely not going back to this spot anytime soon in SF unless I am looking for a very specific Italian ingredient or brand of olives or something from their little grocery aisle.
google avatar

Yelp
The location is easy to get to and the store itself is very homey. Think of your local neighborhood bodega but make it SF... You can order online or in person. The wait depends on whether there is a lunch/dinner rush so expect a small wait if you come during these times. I can only speak on the sandwiches which there are many combinations to choose some. My favorite is the Mafioso because I love prosciutto and turkey. The bacon is a nice crispy touch! I've also tried some of their handmade pasta which is a nice step up from boxed pasta if you're in the mood to elevate your dinners. | t l ; d r | A great deal for a hefty sandwich loaded with fresh ingredients!

Yelp
Authentic, simple, and delicious. These sandwiches are filling and made with fresh ingredients. We were offered freshly made mozzarella with our sandwich and are so happy to have gotten the recommendation. The service is quick and the shop is very homey and comfortable. Not a huge sitting area so best to take it to go.

Yelp
Limoncello is a very cute store/cafe/restaurant situated in a quiet corner of the city. There are two doors - the corner side leads you to the cafe portion of the restaurant where you can order special drinks. There are so many unique Italian sodas, wines and beers you can purchase here. Also, they have plenty of pastas and pastries to choose from. Just a callout that if you choose to pay by card, there is a $7 minimum. The other door will lead you to the deli counter which invites you in with delicious smells of meats, cheese, and more. There are many different options to choose from! The sandwiches come out within a few minutes of placing your order so you are not waiting long at all. I decided to try the Alpino sandwich and I was not disappointed. For the price, the sandwich itself is a big size and hugged by fresh and fluffy bread slices that still hold up instead of becoming soggy. The turkey meat is expertly sliced thinly and is paired nicely with the greens and acidity altogether. It was delicious and you definitely cannot go wrong with any sandwich or other option on their menu.

Yelp
Really good sandwiches in a cure corner shop. Usually places like this are uncomfortable to sit in but they have counter seating which keeps you out of the way of people buying their pasta sauce. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Acarie S.

Yelp
I keep coming back to this place not only they have great Italian subs but the tiramisu and their salads and lasagna are sooooo tasty. That you well definitely keep coming back for more. They have variety of options for Italian sandwiches. If you're a meat lover or if you're a vegetarian and also the type of bread, I like the ciabatta and of course, Dutch crunch it baby!!! :)

Yelp
Came back the 2nd time and with my husband and kids this time for our "picnic" lunch. Porchetta - my order for the 2nd time around; didn't disappoint! My regular order for a reason BLT - on a sourdough (hubby's) BLT - on ciabatta (14yo son) Both BLTs were great, both inhaled their sandwiches 4 cheese pizza - 6yo daughter All 4 of us enjoyed sharing the pizza with our daughter. I would order this again! We also grabbed their fresh watermelon in a container and also a few drinks. Definitely loved the Italian brand of sparkling juice (?). I had the blood orange flavor and it was a perfect drink to go with my porchetta sandwich. Place was definitely always clean and fully stocked. There were more people in line this time, but we were also there right around lunch time. Wait time wasn't bad considering the time and the number of our orders. Definitely have to be patient with parking though since it's only side street parking.

Yelp
Limoncello is a from scratch Italian sandwich shop and speciality food market full of Italian imports. AMBIANCE Clean, spacious, stocked, organized SERVICE Quick FOOD 5/5 THE VEGGIE sandwich (vegetarian heaven - fresh, quality ingredients): Roasted Red Bell Peppers, Portobello Mushroom, Avocado, Roasted Eggplant, Artichoke Hearts, Pepperoncini, Organic Greens, Tomato, Pepper, Pesto, Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar

Yelp
I loved the mafioso, it had a little kick to it and a ton of flavor. The goodfella didn't have as much flavor because it was mostly roast beef but was still good. All in all a fun spot and I would come back again.
google avatar

Caitlyn M.

Yelp
Cute sandwich shop that has an Italian deli and lots of other Italian foods and snacks. I was in the neighborhood so I ordered a sandwich online to pickup in the store. There were a few people waiting in the store so I'm happy I ordered ahead. It took about 15-20m for my order to be ready, I timed it perfectly so it was ready when I got there. I ordered the Veneziano Sandwich which has a different description on the online menu than the menu in the store. I think there was a mix up on the online menu. The Veneziano comes with prosciutto cotto which is an Italian cooked ham, provolone, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions and mustard. And although it wasn't the sandwich I expected, it was really good! You can tell they use good ingredients. It had a good amount of ham and everything in the sandwich complimented each other. Definitely will be coming back to try more of their sandwiches.
google avatar

Celie H.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place but we were disappointed with the quality of both sandwiches and with the service we received. The sandwiches used really wilted, almost rotting lettuce, so they didn't smell great. Also wasn't enough oil and vinegar so once we got the rotted lettuce off, they came out as mostly dry meat and cheese with bread. Tomatoes were super mushy and mealy. The guy behind the checkout had Fox News on at full volume, so the ambiance was, well it was Fox News. We tried to say hi and engage with him but he was very focused on Marjorie Taylor Greene on the TV. Such a bummer. We won't be back.

Yelp
One of my favorite sandwiches in the city! Their pastrami is amazing. My spouse had the caprese, which was delicious too. I recommend grabbing a sandwich from here and walk around the Lafayette Park, just 3 blocks away.

Yelp
GO HERE. I found this place on a whim during a very short 24 hours in San Fran. Let me tell you, this place is incredible! I placed my order online and it was ready in less than the quoted 30 minutes. Staff was friendly and attentive. It's located in a little market and is super easy to navigate -- definitely had an old school Italian market vibe. Now onto the sandwich. I got the Mafioso sandwich on ciabatta and panini pressed with the dressing on the side. When I tell you this was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had -- I'm not exaggerating. It was packed with turkey, bacon and prosciutto. The mixed greens and juicy tomato added an amazing freshness to it. And the dressing was the perfect cherry on top. I will 100% be back when in SF again!

Yelp
Found this on our way to the Walt Disney museum with my four kiddos. The food and service was just what we were looking for! Food was fresh and delicious and service was so friendly. We met the owner who was also super accommodating and lovely to meet. We ordered two paninis, hot dogs, salad and for desserts the tiramisu and the mini connoli. I really don't think you can go wrong ordering anything from here. Loved it!

Yelp
What a 1st impression. What do you get from a place famous for their sandwiches? Pasta. Pause. My friend was ordering food through Neon and, with my fridge getting bare, I looked at their menu. Yes, the sandwiches were tempting but I figured that I wouldn't eat their food for another day or two. That led me to order the spaghetti & meatballs (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=8rDn8-ASJb_4pK_HiNGxxg); it's made with house made Marinara sauce and beef meatballs. Though the description said it comes with around 8 meatballs, the 5 provided were perfect portion wise. This is how it looks reheated (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=Y1SJErFN4njKW5lV7elLNA). I make a pretty mean Bolognese sauce so to.say this favorably compared to mine is indeed a compliment. Being impressed, I made a point to go in person to try more items on their menu and, of course, their bread and butter... well, bread with meats, cheese, and vegetables..., their sandwich. I found a parking spot kitty corner from this corner store. I decided to try The Sicilian on Dutch Crunch (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=n15C9OiSrwk__vMhLf0Hig). The filling (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=eWmMShjTP3AoAC-liutO3A) is eye catching with fresh whole leaf lettuce and a good amount and variety of meats. Perhaps my expectations were too high as I thought it was a good sandwich but it didn't 'wow' me flavor wise. I also knoshed from a large container of macaroni salad (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=rYhaLMcuIiMiT2_2UFgC7g); you will like this if you enjoy a heavy mayonnaise flavor. A few days later, I started on my small container of marinated butter beans (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=JJ1sZD_PCG5kmXxAirQRUA); this was pretty standard and consistent with my favorite North Beach spot. Having a great experience with the spaghetti, I also brought home a lasagna bolognese, cold (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=v7JM8XSS5bVUTLtYaPmbHw); I reheated this, foil covered, in the toaster oven a couple nights later. I found this solid but I'd get the spaghetti again over this. The store is designed with a modern feel. To order sandwiches and menu items, walk upstairs and place your order at the counter to the right when you reach the top of the stairs. The sandwich makers will put your order together behind the deli counter and they'll call your name or bring your food to the counter when ready. I brought the prepacked salad containers upstairs and paid for them at the same counter. I will return and likely try another sandwich option from their menu but you know that spaghetti and meatballs will be in my bag to take home.

Yelp
Ohhemmmgeeee I love this place and will be back way too much. It's a great grab and go store with a deli and the it's absolutely delicious. Everything I have tried from here as been so absolutely wonderful and it's at a great price point. All the workers are extremely friendly and the owners are passionate about having great food and giving great service. There's tables to sit on outside which are nice if you can grab one! The sandwich we tried was "The Speciale" with spice but we asked to switch the fresh tomatoes to roasted tomatoes! I didn't get a picture of the salad before fixing in but super fresh and delicious! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I'm convinced that the good reviews are from people who are smoking something. This food is absolutely DISGUSTING!! The service is horrible. The bread was stale af, there was barely any meat, tomato or cheese, the green were disgustingly bitter and I can't believe I spent $20 on this garbage. Go to wholefoods and get yourself a better sandwich for $10! Will never ever step foot in this establishment again. Absolute overpriced trash!

Yelp
Excellent variety of sandwiches! We love the freshness of their meats and bread selections. It is also a mini Italian grocery shop. We bought their jelly cookies with heart center and loved them! We will definitely return for more of their sandwiches and desserts.

Yelp
Outstanding sandwiches and great selections of sweets, chocolates, sides, you name it. I literally dream about their alpino sandwich with roasted red peppers. Huge and delicious. For what it's worth, they always get my add-ons right.

Yelp
Solid sandwich for a pretty good price! The focus is definitely on the deli meats here, so don't look for any special sauces or unique flavor combos. The bread they use is just ok, it's really just a vehicle for the meat. I just think it was missing a little something special to amp up the flavor, but otherwise it's a good value choice.

Yelp
I've yet to come across a deli that doesn't charge $9,000 for a small side of pasta salad so this place didn't disappoint. (Its $6 but its tiny and it's literally just noodles/sauce.) I got the sicilliano sandwich and it was fucking delicious. no other notes. just a really good fucking sandwich. Ok bye

Yelp
Mac salad was expired old and completely gross and sour. Unsanitary and does not follow food safety standards. Salads were premade but for some reason the worker opened the to-go box (that it was already in), opened it, then without gloves proceeded to used his bare hands and tossed the whole salad with his hands. Do these people not understand tongs? Doubt he even washed his hands as he proceeded to run random tasks such as unloading the car. The whole thing was odd. Note: right before I walked in they were eating with their hands out of a to go salad- no fork or anything. Their hands! Didn't wash their hands, and proceeded to help with my salad. This is a def skip ! Ever heard of gloves and utensils?!

Yelp
Went here while on vacation with a friend. Stopped in because it looked like a cute shop from the outside and we did not regret going in. Service was very friendly and pretty quick. Food was amazing, some of the best sandwiches we've had. They even panini pressed them for us and all! Highly recommend and would be there every week if I lived in SF.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches in an authentic Italian deli just doors down from our hotel. Wonderful wine selections too.

Yelp
Fantastic little spot! We stumbled onto it yesterday. Massive, beautifully made sandwiches. I had a veggie pizza that I had to hold myself back from eating in its entirety. There's also an adorable wine bar in the back. Service was very warm and friendly.

Yelp
Parking can be tough at their Sutter & Franklin corner location. But it's been a Long time wait to get across town for their famous porchetta sandwich! Or famous for me. I see porchetta sandwiches I order it. You enter the bright, goody-filled deli and peruse the menus but go to the cashier to order sandwiches, salads and get a number for pick-up. You can shop the Italian goodies that are stocked which are eye popping! See their awesome limoncello offerings. Great place for quick lunch, easy dinner, GGP picnic of sandwiches, salads, hot dishes like spaghetti or lasagne and even pizzas. There are some side bar seatings and a table or two outside to eat there. Ordered: * Porchetta sandwich. This was a very well balanced fresh roasted porchetta sandwich w/the peppery arugula, tangy sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil & balsamic, more tang with the olive spread but not overwhelming and the lovely fresh mozzarella! * Caprese salad w/side of olive oil & balsamic. The cashier let me know that I'd need to season the salad w/salt & pepper on my own which is great. I prefer it that way. Usually decline dressing but this is olive oil & balsamic from an ITALIAN deli -- heck yea! Very sweet sugar plum tomatoes (my fav) w/fresh ciliegne (small) mozzarella balls, shredded basil added with the dressing - perfection! * Potato salad - loved surprisingly lightly dressed potato salad of mayo, vinegar and herbs. * Amaretti cookies (boxed) - any time I can find amaretti cookies, fresh baked or boxed, I'm getting it. Thought it funny that anyone I saw with a box of amaretti cookies in the store had them clutched in their arms! I understand. To try later at home: * Veggie lasagne - looked good but will heat it up for dinner later. Looked like lasagna bolognese is popular but who can say bolognese anything is bad. Hence the veggie choice to try it out. * Pasta Bros. Vodka Cream sauce (frozen) - had to try this since I freeze extras of my own marinara or pasta sauces to enjoy later. I barely scratched the surface of what Limoncello Delicatessen offers. It's a wonderland of Italian sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and offerings of Italian fresh cheeses, deli meat, pasta, pantry and baked goods. And European tinned fishes, great for appetizers or happy hour. They've also opened another delicatessen in Noe Valley. Will be back when in the neighborhood especially for the Napolitano (Mortadella!) or combo Siciliano sandwiches , Italian sodas and desserts!

Yelp
Good balance of ingredients, big fan of the different spreads. The sandwiches were so good - specifically the Calabrese - I ran to the Walgreens around the corner to get lactaid. Plenty of seating for the deli/grocery store, more than anticipated. The people working the counter were quick and nice. The store half is very cute with lots of treats and a great selection of olives. The outside seating and indoor bar seating is great for a deli, it's quiet and relaxed.

Yelp
Marginal at best, sandwich was meh, everything just off the grocery store shelf, I could have made it myself. Pizza was blah. Pasta was okay, but not worth going back.

Yelp
I pass by this place pretty often and decided to give it a try. Definitely glad I did! I asked the cashier what their most popular items were and he suggested I try the Mafioso. The taste of the oil and vinegar was great with the meats of the sandwich. The soft bread was also a nice contrast to the crunchiness of the bacon. My only thing to note is that adding prices in the drink section would be nice given some of them are a bit pricey. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other items
