The atmosphere was nice and the live jazz music in the background was amazing touch. The food and drinks was pretty decent. The Mac and cheese and fried Brussels sprouts were a bit disappointing. Service was slow but staff was friendly.

Went here for my birthday, and immediately at the door, we were greeted with a warm, welcoming introduction and headed into the basement. Once we got there, we were helped to our table, which was at the center of the place with a great view of the piano player. We started with the Calamari and Pork Belly, which were easily the best I've had to date. The pork belly literally melted in my mouth, being so rich. I ordered the Australian NY Strip Waygu recommended by our server cooked med rare +, and it was the top 3 steak I've had. It literally melted and cooked excellently. The mac & cheese was good along with the mashed potatoes. The lamb chops and sauce my wife had in hers was flavor bomb. We had great service and ordered the apple pie cheesecake for dessert, and it was good just the crust was a bit hard from being refrigerated too long. Overall amazing and we will definitely be back!

The atmosphere and service were great. Has an old mobster speakeasy vibe to it with live music. Food was top notch and flavors were on point. The portions are on the smaller side, but the ingredients definitely make up for it. Would definitely recommend!

By far the best steakhouse I’ve been to in Detroit! When you walk downstairs you enter a dark but cozy environment, honestly the perfect steakhouse vibe. Our waiter Timothy was excellent, explained the menu well and provided some good humor too. As far as the food, the calamari was fantastic, and the shrimp cocktail was also good. My dry aged boneless ribeye was cooked exactly how I like it, a perfect medium rare with fantastic flavor and a great crust. I’ll be the first to admit that I am very particular about my steaks and they nailed this one for sure. The sides were good but I think the house fried potatoes were the standout of those, highly recommend. If you’re looking for a great work dinner or date night location, then London Chop House is the spot!

By far the finest dining experience I’ve had. Went for my birthday and everything… the food, the service, the atmosphere and lounge music. Absolutely amazing. Worth every penny they charge. Definitely will be coming back.

We recently dined at the London Chop House, and Brittany’s outstanding service made it an unforgettable experience! As a group from Spartan Carrier Group, we felt completely taken care of from start to finish. Brittany’s attention to detail and her knowledge of the menu elevated our evening. The oysters were amazing, and the king crab, Australian steak, and ahi tuna were all absolutely to die for! Her wine recommendations paired perfectly with each course, showcasing her expertise and adding a sophisticated touch to our meal. If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience in Detroit, Brittany and the London Chop House are an unbeatable combination. Highly recommend!

Food = if you ever cooked a good steak in your life, you will always feel robbed going to a place that can't do it like you can and exactly how you want it. That being said, this place has good quality meat it's just hard for me to pay 100 plus for a steak. I can cook better at my house.. so if you're about that life, this place does just fine, but if you're like me, I'd rather heat up the grill even in the winter and do it myself.. I ordered the 14-ounce filet medium, and it came out rare. I didn't make a stink about it. I just ate it, but when I pay the price, I want it done perfectly. Service = was great even tho we came in with red wings jerseys on which there is a dress code. fyi, we were served and treated very well. Atmosphere = love the dark vibe and ambience however no music or anything was playing and you sit pretty close to people can be a bit awkward when your next to that super quiet couple that says nothing the entire meal. Need a bit louder music to drown out the library sound .. my reservation was 430, so maybe to early to put the music on ? End notes = I might return, but most likely not in my future. Really gotta blow my socks off to get me to come back these days. But I didn't hate. I gave them 4 stars to retain the prestigious reviews and quality meat options.

We chose the London Chop House for my mom's birthday. We wanted to celebrate at a place with wonderful food, great atmosphere, and a history in Detroit. The London Chop House delivered! From the doorman, to the host/hostess, to the wonderful food...we could not have asked for more. The steaks were perfectly prepared and the cakes were decadent and delicious! The live music made this dining experience special, and the personalized birthday song was extra special! Thank you to the staff at the London Chop House for helping to make this a very special experience!

Hostess was very friendly and welcoming. I love this place. The atmosphere is amazing! They kept as much original interior and it's beautiful! Our waitress, Lola, is incredible! She made the best recommendations for our meal, she is also so knowledgeable of the restaurant. She made the entire experience here amazing! We ordered, 1) pork belly appetizer- grilled perfect, so delicious! 2) foie gras- omg!! Finally a restaurant that knows how to create this in true French fashion!! It was perfection! Melts in your mouth! 3) ceasar salad - so delicious and fresh! 4) braised short ribs- the most delicious I have ever eaten! They are so rich yet so tender, with the most delicate flavor packed sauce ever! The baby carrots on top were delightful. 5) Aussie wagu sirloin- wow, what a beautiful cut of steak, great generous portion seared and cooked to perfection. The entire experience/ ambience is outstanding here!! The food is outstanding! I loved it here! This will be one of my top favorite restaurants now. I give them 100 stars of if I could !

LCH Cigar Bar is a great place to chill out, have a drink, smoke cigars, play pool and more. The LCA cigar bar is a separate venue than the London Chop House restaurant below. The cigar bar is on the second floor and its own display walk in humidor. While the humidor and its contents are fully visible from the car leading to the entrance to the cigar bar, entrance to the humidor is from inside. The decor is cubby and opulent. the bar is fully stocked. The seats are very comfortable. The venue is very spacious. There is a full size Brunswick pool table on site for those who wish to partake. The staff is excellent. I believe that food from the London shop house can be ordered up, but I am not positive.

My wife and I came for our anniversary. It was the first time for both of us. We were greeted by a very friendly doorman who directed us to the restaurant downstairs. We were asked if we had a reservation (yes), checked our coats and were led to our table. Our server (Britney) was excellent and very professional. She was top notch in explaining the specials, answering our questions, and taking care of us in general. We ordered a bottle of wine, appetizer (calamari), entrees (my wife got the filet mignon and I got the bone in ribeye), and sides (asparagus and mashed potatoes). We very much enjoyed the calamari. It is lightly breaded and served with a sweet chili sauce. The entrees were also excellent. I order bone in ribeye at practically every steakhouse that we go to. This was the best piece of meat that I have ever eaten. The asparagus (with a light dill sauce) and mashed potatoes (with garlic) rounded out a great meal. Now, the bad. The front of the house f'd up. They greeted us with "happy anniversary" upon our arrival, and our table even had an anniversary card. Then, they proceeded to seat a group of 20-30 people around us at three separate tables. These three tables were all together. My wife and I felt like uninvited guests at a party. Members of the group were wandering table to table socializing. One woman sat her butt on the edge of our table. People were repeatedly using my chair as a crutch to get around a post in between the tables. Needless to say, this is not the experience that I expected. Fortunately, Britney recognized the issue and alerted the general manager, Bjorn. I do think that he felt generally sorry for the situation, and comped our bottle of wine. He even gave us his card and asked that we contact him before our next visit so that he could make it right. That went a long way for us. We'll definitely be back. But there needs to be additional training for those who do the seating. We should never have been put in that situation.

My wife and I had heard of the London Chop House for many years - yet, felt we needed a special occasion to go there. We went for our anniversary and were very pleased. We got met by a doorman with a vibrant baritone singing voice. We were treated very well by the waitstaff. The steak is probably the best I've ever had. Appetizer choices are top notch. We both got soup and loved it (french onion and seafood bisque). We made reservations for 4:30 and left at 6:30 - having appetizers, soup, main course, and splitting a dessert - and, of course, excellent cocktails. Live music started at 6:00. Expensive. Yet get what you pay for. Has the air of a 1950s top notch restaurant - the kind my grandfather would have done fancy business dinners in.

London Chop House is located in one of the most central locations in Downtown Detroit. A lot of history in this part of town. Enjoyed the whole ambiance and vibe of this spot. Fun introduction from the door man, live music on the piano and a generally welcoming feel. I hope anyone reading this gets the pleasure of dining with Tim. By far some of the best service I've ever had. Knowledgeable, fun, and an all around great time. Not a big steak guy so I opted for a surf & turf in the form of seafood bisque and Braised Short Rib. Everyone else got steaks and they were superb. Perfectly cooked. Can't wait to come back.

The filet mignon was tasty and very tender. Mashed potatoes were good but cold. Didn't like the Asparagus. Ambiance was nice but on weekdays there's no live music. Not a fan of the free bread and butter.

We came to the London chop house to celebrate my Aunt's Birthday. The ambience was wonderful like a classic old school steak house. I ordered the New York strip and calamari which I was so excited about I forgot to take pictures. The service was outstanding. We just had two identical, twin girls. They were less than four months old when making the reservation and the hostess or manager that I spoke with was very accommodating. Once at the restaurant, we were seated in an appropriate place that if the girls did cry, there wouldn't be too much of a disruption and they made sure to have the seating available for their infant car seats. as a new mother, this was very important because going to restaurants with two infants seemed very daunting. The entire staff was welcoming and gracious we will be back.

I don't know what's wrong, but the old school cool ambiance the restaurant was going for ended up coming across dingy and dated. The food was just ok too. I wouldn't recommend this place as there's a lot more restaurants that hit the mark. Sauteed beef tips: This was pretty good. The mushrooms added to the beefy, rich flavor of the dish. The beef itself was tender. I don't like blue cheese, but it wasn't that noticible in the dish. Buttermilk marainated calamari: Average. I live for the breading on fried foods, but for this dish there wasn't a lot breading. The calamari was cooked so that it was tender and not rubbery. Crab bisque: Poor presentation to be honest. There was a film on top of the soup as if it had been scooped and placed in a corner and forgotten. It was lukewarm, and cayenne oil had moved from the center to the side. I was not impressed. My friend had the LCH salad and it was equally unappealing. The hardboiled egg had that green ring around the yolk indicating that it was overcooked. I would expect the single component of that salad that needed cooking to be done well. Otherwise it was as expected. 6oz petit filet mignon: It was cooked exactly to specification, with a good seared crust. The green beans and mashed potato were as expected. LCH gold brick sundae: This was a great way to end the meal. The chocolate topping had hardened like a magic sundae shell fused with Heath bar pieces, and the ice cream itself was rich. It's unfortunate that my favorite part of the meal was one where it didn't require any cooking, only assembly.

We had the ribeye steak, amazing!! Our friend had a New York steak! He loved it. We loved the calamari and the sauce on it. We all got loaded backed potatoes and perfect drinks. Our server Marvin was awesome and was amazing on the history. Frank Sinatra has a spot there and we loved hearing the history Frank is a favorite of ours. The ambiance was great the jazz piano player did many Frank songs and we absolutely enjoyed it. Thank you to the valet and the door man for a great entertainment on entrance and exit. We went at 5 for an early dinner! LOVEEE the old school vibe and music! Everyone is incredibly welcoming and kind! Pipe the doorman is awesome! From the valet service to hostesses to servers, everyone is amazing! The meat was so flavorful, buttery, and melted in our mouth! French onion soup was more thick like a gravy than soupy. Calamari was sauced up nicely! The tartar was different. It was warm, meat wasn't chopped super finely like a regular tartar, but it was tasty! The salad was also a different lighter spin on Caesar salad, but again it was very good!

We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday, and we had an amazing time. From the service to the food, everything was great. The filet was literally melt in your mouth good, and the brussel sprouts were some of the best I've had. Of course it was a bit expensive, but it was well worth it for the special occasion.

Great service and awesome atmosphere of kindness and love. Trust me when I say this The Chop House makes downtown Detroit. It's set in the center of many places to eat, dance, and cigars. Not to mention dancing and good parking make sure when you get here to tip the doorman he will always remember you. The pool table is the best bring the crowd with you. I can't mention the food here just yet that is because when I get here we go straight to the cigar lounge. Come here during a Detroit Lions game it gets wild. That is all. Chief Be real among strangers that way they know who they are dealing with.

Dorian the doorman greeted us at the sidewalk and escorted us in, he was so fun and friendly! Walking down into this basement restaurant was like stepping back in time. Some might call it outdated, but I found it to be tasteful and vibey, it was dimmly lit with low ceilings and a live band playing. We had dinner reservations at 8pm with some friends, so we had some cigars and bourbon over a game of billiards the the LCH Cigar Lounge upstairs before dinner, it was a great segue into dinner. Between the 4 of us, we ordered a pretty big variety off the menu and everything was absolute perfection. I was sad that they told me that they had "just" run out of the caviar, because I was really looking forward to it. The Foie Gras was incredible, I had never had it served seared before, but it melted in my mouth and was simply heavenly. I ordered the Lump Crab Cake and a half dozen fresh oysters for an appetizer to share, it was all divine. For dinner I ordered the Sautéed Loup De Mer & Scallops. Wow. Incredible. Everyone else raved about everything they ordered (and I couldn't help tasting a bite here and there too, delish all around!). Our waiter was spectacular, very professional and attentive. The live music set a lovely ambiance. A great spot.

Old school all the way. The London Chop House has a reputation that precedes it, for good reason. Even though this was my very first visit, it made me very happy to see and experience the legend live up to its name. The service, food and ambiance were excellent. If you're looking for romance and old school fine dining, this is it. Can't wait to come back.

A must visit Detroit landmark with old school service and excellent food. Add their live music on Thursday and they hit it out of the park.

The chop house is one of my all time favorites. I usually get the lamb chops as they are amazing everytime. The ambiance is great with nice music and lighting. The waiters are always attentive and informative about the menu options.

This is just a special place located in the heart of downtown Detroit in the Buhl Building. Parking is easy with a deck right there and of course valet. You are greeted by Dorian, the doorman and he just kicks off the night in a special way. You descend the stairs and are greeted by an incredibly friendly hostess, This place is mid-century. You feel like you are stepping into the set of a Mad Men scene. Dark leathers, a traditional fully stocked bar and of course a piano man. There is also the scent of fine beef being prepared. We are seated and the waitress, Ericka, greeted us with the drink menu and wine list. Great selections. The even made my personal drink, The Noble. We skipped apps and went straight to the salad. I had the Wedge and my wife a chopped LCH salad. Both were excellent and the wedge is not a quarter head of iceberg, but rather baby gem (1/2 head). For dinner we had the Prime NY Strip (me) and the 8 oz Filet (her). They were perfect. They come with a choice of sauces, but quite frankly the seasoning and prep were so perfect we barley touched "the juice." All in all, it was a perfect start to a perfect evening. We are going to be going back more often!

So I've started this review so many times because I don't think anything I can write truly how special this place is to me. Detroit has seen a boom in steakhouses recently (Prime and Proper, Caucus Club, Marrow, SheWolf sort of and of course the new one coming out where Roast used to be). There is a reason this handsome grandaddy of them all still stands The first time I came here was in 1991 when my best friend's family took me here to celebrate graduating from high school. Then 1994, to celebrate graduating university and again in 1995 I came back and chose this to be the spot to propose to my girlfriend. This place is somewhere I've always held in my heart as where I celebrate the meaningful, the special, the wonderful. Walking about to the doorway, you are immediately greeted by a doorman. The gentlemen there currently has the greatest voice. I just want him to read my novels to me at night until I fall asleep. Silky smooth. I suggest you make a reservation if you want dinner, especially on a Friday or Saturday. Walking down the stairs into the restaurant you step back in time. While most modern restaurants have moved to modern looks, clean lines built with chrome and brass, LCH is still dark wood that comforts you on cold winter nights and plush leather seats that swallow you up whole. I would suggest you get here a few minutes early so you have an excuse to sit at the bar and have a cocktail. The bartenders have always been super friendly and super talented. Once you get to the table and and get your meat hooks onto the menu I guarantee you will start drooling. I'm drooling now just thinking about the meal, very Pavlovian. Mmmmm. My review encompasses decades so I'm not going to recommend anything specific but I've had chops, steaks, veggies, the works and I have never, ever had a complaint. The service has always been top notch. The kitchen always accommodating to adjustments. If this was the Middle Ages I would hire a bard to write and sing songs about this place. Aesthetics, flavors, drinks, everything is great. I almost forgot to mention, if you like Jazz, often times they will have a band playing. Jazz isn't my thing, man, but it's nice dinner music. Bonus #1: they have a cigar bar upstairs but I don't think they've opened up since COVID. I might be wrong. Bonus #2: probably the best happy hour in the City. Check it out.

Great, old school steakhouse in a basement of an old building. Very unassuming yet great vibe and decor. Service is first class. Entertainment this evening was awesome. More importantly, the food. Good, French Onion Soup. Lots of cheese. Steak was seasoned wonderfully and cooked well. Asked for bernaise sauce on the side but didn't need it.

What a special place! The atmosphere, the food, the service all are first class. We will be back...soon!

We chose London Chop House to celebrate our Anniversary. As the reviews attest, the food here was great....but it was the Customer service that made our visit above and beyond. When I made the reservation, I put into the comments our need for a wheelchair accessible table. I am glad that they reviewed the comments becuase the Door Man Dorian was there to provide a wonderful greeting and to get us on the wheelchair lift to the elevator. Unfortuantely....the lift malfunctioned and my husband was stuck mid ride for about 30 mins. Dorian, Victor, and the Manager (I failed to get her name) did all they could to get the lift moving again. They finally had to call in the owner Nico. Ultimately we along with the restaurant had to use a makeshift ramp to get him off of the lift. This was a situation that was unexpected and could have caused a lot of anxiety on not only our part, but also the part of the staff. They handled it with total professionalism and care and that was greatly appreciated. Now...on to our dinner experience :-) It was a Tuesday night, so the restaurant was pretty empty. They did have a live musician which played some soft dinner music which added to the nice ambiance. We were told that when they renovated the restaurant in 2012, they kept most of the original architecture and decor, which lent itself to a old school steakhouse. We were seated at a table facing the stage and Lola was our waitress. She was very pleasant and knowledeable, not just on food items, but also on the drink items. She provided some great recommendations and everything she recommended was delish. For appetizers we had the calamari and crab cake. Out of the two, the calamari was the best, but both were good. For dinner, we had filet and Sauteed Loup de Mer & Scallops (Branzino and Scallops), mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. Filet was cooked correctly and had a nice flavor and "crust". The seafood dish was also delish. For dessert, we had the carrot cake. Dinner experience was 5* and a great way to celebrate our anniversary. But what would make us visit this restuarant again was the staff. Thanks again to Nico (Owner), Dorian, Victor, and our girl Lola!

Epitome of old school cool. You walk in and you're going to feel like you stepped into a time warp. Thought I might see Humphrey Bogart or something. They had a very friendly doorman - that in and of itself is something. The entrance is unassuming and when you get there, you'll be wondering, "um, is this the right place?" Rest assured...it is. Service, food, drinks, decor, lighting, all impeccable. They had a live pianist the night we were there. It is expensive though so be prepared to drop a few bills. I have eaten in a LOT of downtown Detroit restaurants and steakhouses (because I visit there for my job all the time) and this is by far and away my favorite. Check it out.

We went there to celebrate our birthday. I thought it was so beautiful and classy. The food was delicious and amazing. The steak melted in your mouth and cheesy cauliflower was amazing. Service was swift and Abdu Rahin was very nice to us! They even encouraged us to dance with the band. We had a wonderful time and we will be back

We loved The London Chop House. Service and food were both great. The atmosphere is nice. We tried the shrimp cocktail, house salad, Caesar salad, ribeye, shrimp cocktail, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, mushrooms, sautéed shrimp, chocolate torte, and apple cheesecake. We will definitely return.

Yummy. Absolutely love the historic vibe, the service was on point, and the staff went above and beyond. We had a group of 9 who were trying to find anywhere in Detroit on Grand Prix weekend of all times and other restaurants would t even pretend to accommodate us. This place made it happen, and they were so lovely about it. The service was flawless, food amazing, and the steak was excellent. Loved the historic items on display. Will absolutely go back.

Food was very very good. Service unfortunately was sub par. Nice waitress but slow on drinks and after a bottle of wine that wast just not satisfactory, instead of suggesting a solution the response was "you will probably have to pay but I can cork it for you." Manager was nice but ship sailed. I'm only rating this poorly based on service. Food was exceptional. If you're going to spend that kind of $$ it needs to check all boxes. With that being said, we would go back tomorrow. Just need to make sure all staff is meeting expectations of the consumer.

Where has this place been all my life??? This restaurant hits all my soft spots. A dark interior with low yellow lights on the walls and tables. It looks like the rat pack should be meeting up here They have occasional live music and the rest of the time we were treated to big band music. Places like this make my soul sing. Aesthetically this is my favorite kind of place. But the FOOD!!!!! The New York strip steak was the best I have ever had and was an explosion of pepper and lovely flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes only flaw was that they finally ran out. It also might be the bear wedge salad I've ever had. (There was a vinegar taste) The cost was outrageous but worth every dime. They even have a doorman who sounds like he could be the next Casey kasem who welcomes you to this unique experience. I would give this place six stars if I could. This is traditional dining at its best.

First timer here & the experience was the best!! Worth every single penny. For starters, you can find parking on the street or use the valet. We were greeted at the door and again at the hostess stand. They offered free coat check. We had reservations, so we were immediately seated. The booth comfortable and the atmosphere was dim & romantic. There was a gentleman playing Stevie Wonder tunes on the piano. Our waiter didn't miss! He was so knowledgeable and took great care of us. On to the fantastic food: I ordered the east and west coast oysters on a half shell. I really like mine spicy but, the sauce for these were more mild. The oysters themselves were delicious. For my entree I had the loop de mar & scallops. It was soooooo good. Every bite. The cream sauce, with capers and lump crab. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. We also had the macaroni and cheese. Very good experience.

I read about the 400+ wines available at LCH in Windows On The World and I just had to visit. I'm so glad I did. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and elected to sit at this bar considering the main reason for my visit was to sample wines. I did decide to order the soup of the day which was delicious. There was an event at the Cigar Lounge; therefore, I was able to visit that area as well. This is a great spot to receive quality and efficient service. I will return to sample more wines!

The London Chop House is an amazing establishment. Background:I was in town for the 49ers Lions game to kick off the 2021 NFL season. I was joining this trip for the first time, but the group I came with does one 49er road game a year and it's tradition to visit a top notch steakhouse while in town for the game. I was stoked for this as I love a good steakhouse. I was informed The London Chop House was the selection for Detroit. I checked out the menu and was looking forward to our dinner here. Arrival: We walked over from our hotel a few blocks away. Having never been to Detroit before, I really didn't have very high expectations. I was wrong. Very Wrong. I'm sorry Detroit. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendliest Door Man. He welcomed us and pointed us toward the host stand to check-in. Before Dinner: We were about 15 minutes early for our reservation, so we hung out at the bar for drinks. Great drinks and service from the really friendly bartenders. We had just flown in that day, and I was thinking how friendly everyone was so far in Detroit. The atmosphere was great and the live music was bumping. Full bar and restaurant. One downer was our group of 9 couldn't be seated together due to Covid Protocols. We were split into groups of 6 and 3. I was in the group of 3 and we were seated at a table in the bar. Again amazing atmosphere with the live music. Food: Everything I ordered was great. Started with a bowl of French Onion soup. Really good. For my main course I went with the Bone in Rib Eye. Shared sides of mashed potatoes and Mac n Chz with my table mates. My Rib Eye was cooked perfectly as requested. It came with a steak butter of some sort on top. It was delicious. The Mashed Potatoes were excellent. The Mac N Chz was creamy,and heavenly. Drinks wise had a few old fashioned with big cubes that were spectacular. Finished the night off with a Double Espresso. Needed that as it had been a long travel day , and we had a 49er pregame party to go to. My friends really enjoyed their meals as well. Service: Service was good. To be honest it's been a while, but what I remember it was fine. One member of our group can be a lot to deal with and our server handled it like a true professional. Our drinks were always full. Final Thoughts: The London Chop House is an amazing Steakhouse. I'd doubt there's a better one in Detroit. If I was ever in Detroit again I would 100% return here.

We went for my husband's birthday. The food was delicious, but definitely pricey ($200 for 2 without drinks or dessert). I was disappointed with the lack of birthday dessert. I've noted that restaurants like this usually provide some sort of birthday dessert (a small piece of chocolate, a scoop of ice cream with a candle, etc.). Also the restaurant has a rich history, but our waitress didn't tell us anything about it. We went quite early, so she wasn't particularly busy (we were her only table for a while). We overheard some of the other waiters explaining the rich history to their tables and we felt robbed of our experience of dining at such a legendary place.

This place is going up into my top 10. The service is so good you'd think everyone is auditioning for Broadway. I ordered the calamari, pork belly, crab bisque, and dry-aged ribeye. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The calamari at first glance had me thinking I'd want more sauce to it, but after biting into it my worries vanished. I've never had calamari so perfectly tender in my life. The pork belly was divine. The crab bisque was good, but nothing too miraculous. The ribeye was a perfect medium-rare all the way through with a solid crust and astounding bearnaise. My drinks were all pretty excellent as well. I will most definitely be back very soon!

The restaurant is part of Detroit fine dining history. We loved our food. I was thrilled to have a very good fois gras with crostini and garnish, a lobster bisque, a perfectly cut and cooked veal chop. My friend loved his chicken entree. Top top quality food on the plate. Carrot cake impressive presentation but not perfectly fresh, to my taste. Live singer and guitarist 'for your dining pleasure'. Valet parking $17. I gave $20, to include a small tip. Very fast and convenient. This was a Wednesday night seating, and restaurant pleasantly full. I highly recommend for dependable food and dark paneled 1950s ambience. The restaurant was mentioned by name in an episode of the tv show 'Madmen', set around 1960.

Come on now, if you live in or around Detroit this is the place for great steak,great service,great music and yes a great doorman... I love this place it's dark and dreamy, so romantic it's way cool Come on you suburbanites move off your booty and take a drive to the D and have a wonderful evening, go ahead your worth it

We went for our anniversary. It was such a joy. Our waitress spoke of he and his wife; loved his love story and for sharing. They have been together since high school! 20 plus years! The appetizers of steak bites and calamari were good. The calamari was under seasoned and needed to be more crisp; a bit chewy. The steak and shrooms were delicious though. The cauliflower with cheese sauce was mind blowing. Never had it before and want it again as I type this! The lamb was top notch one of the best plate of chops I have had!

Had to stop in for T-bone Paxton and the amazing food of The London Chophouse. From Dorian, the door man, to Pete, incredible waiter, to Bjorn, the manager...every works to make your experience the very best. Drinks, oysters, calamari, steaks, chops, seafood...all some of the best I have had. I cannot recommend this restaurant/experience enough. To Dorian, Pete, Bjorn and the rest of the LCH crew...a heartfelt thank you for an incredible meal and experience.

When asked about my favorite spots for dinner, the London Chop House is most certainly in my top 5. The food, service and atmosphere always impresses me. You know you're in for a wonderful evening when you're invited to the Chop House. I have been here quite a few times and they always serve the most amazing food. Quality is top notch. They also have live music, even on a Monday. Listen Ladies, if someone takes you to this romantic place for dinner, you know one thing, they have great taste! I think you can most certainly give an extra star for the effort. Class act in my opinion! We had amazing drinks, the tequila infused pineapple is seriously dangerous...oh so good! The filet perfectly cooked and the crab legs absolutely mouthwatering. He suggested dessert, I was so full, but how could I possibly resist a chocolate mousse dome? No willpower!!! Lol ....oh and the Spanish coffee fantastic. On a side note, the upstairs cigar lounge hasn't reopened yet....bummer! :( But not to fear, there are quite a few after hours lounges nearby.

10/10 would recommend it. The food was great. I love that there was live jazz music because it added something special to the experience. Food is pricey but if you love steakhouses, it's well worth it.

Absolutely delicious with an excellent price point. The steak was amazing and their mac & cheese side was the best I've had around the area thus far!! Service was great as well, very attentive and polite. This place has a very relaxed atmosphere, almost like a speakeasy, and it can be quite dark inside. Even the doorman and valet guy were great!! We will definitely be frequenting this establishment more often!

Amazing from start to finish. Began with drinks at the bar, martinis were delicious and bartenders were very friendly. Ordered the Australian wagyu ny strip and it was the best steak I have ever tasted .
