A (Brief) History Of London’s Best Snacks - London - The Infatuation

"Salt & pepper chips - £4.80 Salt and pepper chips are a gastronomic gift from the Chinese-Scouse community that increase your enjoyment of life exponentially. They’re chips, deep-fried, then stir-fried and soaked with chilli oil. These ones, from Lucky Dog, feature dried Sichuan chillies, white onion, pepper, and shredded carrot. They’re best enjoyed on a Brick Lane doorstep, but just as good inhaled whilst walking." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak

They’re chips, deep-fried, then stir-fried and soaked with chilli oil. It’s as glorious as it sounds. London’s Best Restaurant Dishes and Food of March 2020 | Eater London

"A simple but deeply satisfying spring onion pancake is served as a textural mop for the saucy remnants of a plate of double-cooked pork with stir-fried vegetables; eaten alongside rice with pickled cabbage, the pancake’s nostalgic crisp-and-flake qualities complete the meal and leave the writer vowing to return, possibly just for the pancake." - Feroz Gajia

Coronavirus U.K. Outbreak Devastates London’s Chinese Restaurants | Eater London

"I observed Lucky Dog on Brick Lane in east London nearly empty — only one table during a midweek lunchtime — and staff said delivery orders had increased but few customers were visiting in person, with staff confused about why Chinese restaurants were being singled out." - Angela Hui

What a hidden gem on the Brick Lane! The Sweet and Sour Deep-Fried Pork Strips were absolutely amazing! Super crispy and very rich in flavor. The Vegetable Trio was also quite nice, the aubergine, potato, and peppers all tasted soft and flavorful - perfect dish to go with rice. Will definitely come back again for sure.

Really authentic Northeastern Chinese food, big portions and super good value. The three of us got four dishes, a dessert, and two bowls of rice for just £70 — honestly, it could easily feed five people. Totally recommend!

This establishment offers tasty, authentic Chinese cuisine. The fried sweet and sour pork was excellent - it remained crunchy even with all the sauce. The authentic, spicy dry pot was equally excellent, but ensure you can handle all the chilies before ordering. Also highly recommended are the scallion pancakes. They are not overly greasy or breaded. BEWARE - this establishment does not take credit cards. Cash or bank transfer only.

Randomly visited a few weeks ago after feeling pestered by all the Indian establishments on brick Lane. Very interesting menu, not a lot i recognised when it comes to the average Chinese restaurant, but it seemed very authentic, so I was excited to try. I ordered what I could recognise, and I was pleasantly surprised when the food arrived! It was freshly cooked and full of flavour! The ham fried rice was a delightful surprise to my taste buds, and the smashed cucumber was refreshing. The two pork dishes were succulent, and the ribs were so tender it fell off the bone. The service wasn't fussy, was left alone, and had to seek attention to get the bill. But it was friendly and welcoming. It's not the fanciest looking place, but it adds to the charm of the place. The food is top notch, so I highly recommend 👌🏿 😋

Absolutely love this place!! We ordered 4 dishes in total and every single one of them is soooo good and authentic: dry fried potato, sweet and sour fried pork, seafood soup and fried green bean. You can find all kinds of flavors you want in here (spicy, sweet&sour, savory, etc). The interior design is also very nice. And the location is near brick lane so that’s another plus!

Food is very authentic. The ribs were our favourite dish but everything was great. Atmosphere is a bit meh but who cares when food is reasonably priced and delicious. Went there recently after not having visited in 18 months. Food is still great but portion size has reduced significantly. I would says about 30% less which is annoying. Not sure I'll go back again. I would drop to 3.5 stars but since I can't, let's call it 4
