Here's How I Experienced Asian American Culture at Disney

"A quick-service concept that pushes beyond standard theme-park fare with Asian-inspired dishes such as honey walnut shrimp wraps, potstickers, karaage-style chicken sandwiches, yaki udon, and a buzzed-about beef birria ramen, plus themed drinks like a passion-fruit–orange–guava punch and a green tea lager, demonstrating a commitment to more authentic regional flavors." - Rachel Chang Rachel Chang Rachel Chang is a travel and pop culture journalist who contributes to Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Lonely Planet, and more. The 25 Best Things to Eat At Disneyland, Ranked

"Location: Lucky Fortune Cookery, San Fransokyo Square, California Adventure Considering how good the birria tacos are at San Fransokyo Square, we had high hopes for the ramen at neighboring Lucky Fortune Cookery. It did not disappoint. This hearty noodle soup features rich, decadent broth, a soft-boiled egg (that’s actually soft-boiled), properly chewy noodles, and tender, slightly salty beef. Soups at Disney tend to be somewhat heavy affairs (see: bread bowls) and this one is no different. Give yourself at least a half hour before hopping on the Incredicoaster. " - brant cox

The 38 Best Things to Eat at Disneyland

"Beef bulgogi burritos and birria ramen are just some of the delightfully unexpected dishes on the menu at California Adventure’s newly re-themed San Fransokyo Square. This dragon-adorned stand, which once served up standard Chinese-American stir-fry, now packs its menu with vegetable-topped Yaki udon and karaage chicken sandwiches punched up with spicy slaw and togarashi mayonnaise. It’s also the only place in the park you’ll find Thai tea, served here with boba and a sea salted cream on top." - Carlye Wisel

We are at Lucky Fortune Cookery several times throughout our trip to try different foods. The kaarage inspired crispy chicken sandwich, birria ramen, and strawberry lychee cocktail were fantastic. The birria ramen came with a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg and the broth was full of flavor. We also tried the honey walnut shrimp wrap and gyoza sausage bun - these were good but didn’t wow us. The stars of the show were definitely the chicken sandwich and ramen.

Google
Delicious teriyaki burger with shrimp chips, questionable bureau ramen with tomatoy soup like Campbell's, pretty decent representation at Disneyland

Google
I mean it was all great. The chicken karaage sandwich, fantastic. The beef bulgogi burrito, very good as well, although a tad too much rice. The ube beer they had there was awesome, too. Very much on the sweeter side, but if you like kinda dessert-y beers like I do, it's for you. Not sure who's complaining about this place, but I enjoyed it very much (although the loud and incessant j-pop will make you want to limit your time here).

Google
The yaki udon with karage chicken is out favorite from here. Sometimes it can be too salty but it tasted great the most recent time. There is a good amount of chicken as well as vegetables. Only downside is the price for the amount that you pay. Definitely mobile order since it’s always busy. Even with mobile order, the wait time can take 15+ minutes so.

Google
It was a satisfying meal. The noodles are little salty. It was nice that you could order on mobile and it didn't take long for the food to come out.

Google
Visited here during 2 visits as this seems to be one of the few places offering Asian food. Mobile order is definitely the way to go as the line was always long during lunch and dinner time. We usually ordered about 1-2 hours before as the time slots would usually get filled up if we waited till when we wanted to eat to order. The vegetarian yaki udon and it was not that great as it was cold when I picked it up from the window. I didn't know there would be so much ginger mixed in (as I'm not a fan of ginger). The chicken teriyaki was a bit better but it a tad too sweet for my tastes. The lychee tea was probably the best part, the tea was refreshing and the lychee jelly was a nice addition. The beef birria ramen left a lot to be desired though. I had to eat through the whole bowl of ramen before I could find the beef which turned to just be 1-2 bites of brisket. If you have a small appetite or want a small snack, I recommend order the kids serving size of their dishes. It comes on a small plate but is a decent amount of food for the price. Kinda let down with the quality of the food here after hearing good reviews about it while researching DCA food.

Google
Karaage inspired crispy chicken sandwich is goood. A little spicy and the Cole slaw has a little cilantro in it $14.99, 16.16 after tax

Google
The disappointment after waiting over an hour for mediocre food. Yaki Udon Stir Fry with Katsu Style Fried Chicken – ($18.99) – Probably the worst meal I’ve had at Disney so far, the sauce with all the toppings is VERY overwhelming. The amount of actual udon in the bowl is embarrassing. Chicken was decently fried with a good amount of flavor, but everything else in that bowl was not very good or worth the money. Hard pass.

Yelp
Got their honey walnut shrimp wrap and Birria ramen. I used mobile order so picking up the food was pretty straightforward. Food was meh. Honey walnut shrimp wrap - 4/5 this was actually not bad! I believe it's a seasonal item so it isn't always available. The shrimp wasn't really "fried" but the mayo glaze was good. Also liked the ratio of the slaw, rice and shrimp. Portion isn't too big but just right for one person. Loved the garlic chips that came with it. Reminds me of the Asian shrimp chips! Birria ramen - 2/5 it was bad. I heard good things about it but it was very disappointing. The noodles were cold and soggy because it was obviously sitting in the soup for way too long. I will say the egg was perfectly cooked though! There was a few bites of shredded meat. The soup flavor was weird... tastes like American chili? But with noodles. I think it would've tasted slightly better if the food came out hot and noodles weren't so soggy.

Yelp
The service is extremely slow. Taking a look in the back kitchen, the cast members are socializing, chatting with each other and moving at a snails pace. At least their honey walnut shrimp wrap was pretty decent.

Yelp
This just became my favorite at California Adventure. I ordered the birria ramen, it was very good. It was just a bit too salty for me, however the soup flavor was very good. I never ever thought I would have a boba drink inside the park, I ordered the three milk ube tea with boba and yes it was good. The boba was very soft and chewy, it's the way I liked it. All seating was outdoors, it is the common area for the eatery at San Fransokyo. As usual, the workers at the counter delivered great Disney customer service.
google avatar

Jasmine D.

Yelp
Food here can be hit or miss. Unfortunately on my last visit, I was left disappointed. I opted for the honey walnut shrimp wrap ($13.99) which was served with a side of garlic chips. The shrimp was plentiful and had the authentic honey mayo flavor, but were somewhat dry and shriveled; and part of the tortilla was extremely hard and inedible. Don't recommend :(
google avatar

Colleen C.

Yelp
Enjoyed the noodles in the Yaki plant based udon! The honey walnut shrimp wrap did have a tough exterior towards the end. Ordered this meal ahead on mobile pick up time! There was spacious surroundings to sit down and eat! Loved hearing Pon Pon Pon Song by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu on speaker!

Yelp
ORDER thai tea (4/5) 3 milk ube tea (3/5) both drinks were too sweet. the thai tea was good, but definitely not the traditional thai tea. it was more similar to green tea. it tasted floral. the 3 milk ube tea was very sweet, but the coconut foam paired well with it. the boba was super soft. SERVICE i placed a mobile order and it was ready within my time frame. AMBIANCE lots of seating available. im obsessed with the decor at san fransokyo!

Yelp
One hit and one (huge) miss. The strawberry lychee cocktail was quite delicious! The lychee taste was surprisingly prominent (thought the drink would be a bit strawberry-leaning). Overall gave margarita vibes. Highly recommend getting this one especially if you're into fruity and sweet cocktails. But what I don't recommend (at all) is the yaki udon with karaage-inspired crispy chicken. First off, the crust on the chicken was heat-obliterated lol tasted as burnt as it looked (the chicken miraculously wasn't dry though). The udon noodles were super gloopy as if they were under a strong heat lamp for several hours. Barely finished eating the chicken but couldn't force myself to finish eating the noodles (the guilt trip for spending $18 for the whole entree lol).
google avatar

Angela V.

Yelp
This review is for the Karaage-inspired Crispy Chicken Sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed this sandwich more than I thought I would. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well. The slaw complimented the salty fried chicken. I noticed that a lot of people said their sandwich came out cold. We didn't have that issue, ours seemed like it was just made.
google avatar

Yelp
The winners of the meals were the birra ramen, and the chicken sandwich. Walk up Counter order, and you sit outside in sand There was cheese and eggs on the ramen and the consome was really flavorful which was the broth of the ramen. The chicken sandwich was crispy and the perfect seasoning of the slaw and dressing. It wasn't that the other two items were bad, but the ramen and chicken sandwich were just soooo good. Burrito was heavy in the rice but still good. Service was also fast

Yelp
My cousins and I were starving since we didn't eat breakfast. We decided to try this place out since everyone agreed to it. Service was quick since we placed a mobile order. Food: - Karaage-inspired crispy Chicken Sandwich $14.99: This sandwich was no longer hot let alone warm when we got it. I was a bit disappointed but didn't want to waste money so I still finished it. I can't tell if the slaw, the sauce it came with or the chicken itself was salty. It wasn't my favorite but I did enjoy the garlic shrimp chips it came with. - Beef Birria Ramen $15.49: Everyone tried this dish and I somewhat liked it. It was salty again for me and a bit too oily. I would ask for more lime next time to cut out the oiliness. However, the beef birria was tender and yummy. - Potstickers $8.49: My favorite thing we got. This order was for my nephew and I got a bite of it. I love the dipping sauce it came with. Next time, I'll try the beef bulgogi burrito since it seems like that's the most popular. I'll also get a Baymax macaron for dessert next time.

Yelp
Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I have two of them to compare. What you see in the App when ordering and what you actually get. I don't know how one could claim these things were the same. Noodles drowning in salty sauce and vegetables that are either so old , or so overcooked, or both that the texture is near mush. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but it's some pretty terrible park food IMO.
google avatar

Anita C.

Yelp
The large soda portion is huge! I didn't finish it so be warned! I just got the baymax cookie so I can't comment on the actual food but the cookie was great! The wait was a little long for what I got though
google avatar

Deniece B.

Yelp
I ordered the Yaki Udon with Karaage-inspired Crispy Chicken and Strawberry Lychee Cocktail. The chicken was crispy and had good flavor. The udon was mushy, but the sauce was good. The cocktail was so good! Preordered on the app, took about 30 mins. Great customer service, huge area for seating.

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I had in Disneyland. It felt a touch healthier than the friend options and the serving size was a great portion for dinner. Veggies tasted fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. Of course, the ambiance was amazing being in San Fransokyo. We mobile ordered, but we probably wasted more time waiting for our food than if we had just ordered there.
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down some of the best customer service I've ever experienced! With that being said for the amount we payed I feel like it was missing flavor && LOTS OF IT! The chicken teriyaki was surprisingly good despite of its presentation ! On the other hand the beef ramens plating was solid & it really looked good! But it totally was lacking flavor. You could definitely taste the birria flavor after the first bite but then it goes flat. It could use some more spices and having a salsa to go with it won't hurt, on top of that it was tad bit on the cold side so it was a solid 2.5/5 We also got 2 orders of potstickers sadly didn't get the chance to get a photo! & another order of the chicken teriyaki! I really don't mind paying as much as I did as long as the food is good, definitely open to trying it again if I hear the food tastes better!

Yelp
Disneylands been stepping up their food game over the last few years. This past trip we had the stir fried udon with karaage. The noodles were overcooked, however the dish as a whole was very good. We usually have the gyoza. It's pretty solid as well. Boba and other drinks are delicious. With mobile order in the busy months, the wait time for pick up can be a while, however it's a nice option to not have to wait in the long line. Seating is plentiful in San Fransokyo and there are plenty of shaded areas.

Yelp
On 11/26/24, we had lunch at Lucky Fortune Cookery. I ordered their Yaki Udon and was utterly disappointed. The noodles were not white udon noodles, but were instead a desert-colored, pasty oily concoction littered with sad vegetables and coated in a weird, sickly sweet and salty glaze whose smell was reminiscent of middle school sweaty gym socks. This dish, by far, is the bipolar opposite of an authentic Asian dish; instead, it is an unimaginative dump of yuck. After forcing myself to eat 1/3, I finally gave up, and later experienced the additional "gift" of a stomach ache. They shouldn't call it a Yaki Udon, as the name is absolutely misleading. This visit was my third and last time. I will no longer give this eatery anymore chances. Thumbs down, permanently...for eternity.

Yelp
Asian themed food in San Fransokyo at DCA. I got the kids chicken and rice $8.50 which came with chicken cubes, steamed carrots and rice, teri sauce on the side. The chicken was tender, not dry. The rice wasn't as sticky like I'm used to. All and all it was okay. My friend enjoyed her Korean bulgogi burrito $14.50. It was stuffed with rice, veggies and marinated meat and came with shrimp chips. She said she'd get it again. If I came back here, I'd try the birria ramen- looks yum.

Yelp
Tofu rice bowls for the win!! An we talk about how cute this restaurant is?! The outside of the restaurant design and decor! I love the colors and design. With the lanterns up too. I got there right before they officially opened for the day and there were other people that beat me to it! Haha that's when you know a place is good- people are starting to line up before they have even opened the doors. I love me some tofu. And this is where I go to get my fix. :)
google avatar

Trish P.

Yelp
Everything we oredered from here was really disappointing. We ordered two chicken sandwiches, a kid's teriyaki chicken and rice plate, and the birria ramen. All of the food we ordered was mediocre at best and the ramen was extremely bland! Next time we come to Disneyland I definitely plan to avoid this place.
google avatar

Sabrina T.

Yelp
I love the San Fransokyo area! Lots of great food options. I mobile ordered and my food was ready quickly. I wanted a snack, so I got the pot stickers. They were so good! Fresh, hot, and delicious. I also had to get the Baymax Macaron because it was so cute. It was also really good! The chocolate hazelnut and buttercream were a great combination.
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
Baymax macaron- delicious! Loved the Nutella Chicken Katsu Yaki Udon- it was ok. A bit too sweet Birria ramen: this was very good, especially on a cold night. The broth was tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
I don't remember which Disney Reviewer on YouTube recommended this but I'm grateful! This is cuteness fusion. A mission style bulgogi burrito? What! Very tasty and filling. Pre order available. Check it out.

Yelp
This has become one of the new hot spots to try here in Disney's California Adventures with it being rethemed this into San Fransokyo in the last few months. It was always a great place to come but now there's an extra buzz around it. They have a lot of big hero six inspired dishes here. The probably the most famous thing is the Baymax macaron. We also got the Birria Ramen, which was really good and there's a kick to it so if you don't deal well with spiciness this might not be the best choice for you. The beef burrito here which was just OK when we tried it. I feel like the way that the burrito ended up being rolled up for this specific one I had there wasn't a good distribution of rice and meat. All the rice was on one end and then all the meat was on the other. I thought it was going to be like the one they had at at the studio catering truck. The chicken karage sandwich was really good and another highlight here. It's a decent size and very tasty overall. There's lots of great menu items to try. Luckily in the middle area with tables there are a few umbrellas out in case it's really sunny out and you're looking for a place to rest.
google avatar

Arnold T.

Yelp
Compared to other Disneyland / California Adventure foods, definitely better than most, which I would give 4 stars, but comparing objective to other eateries generally, 3 stars. We ordered the Yaki Udon, Beef Birria Ramen, and Beef Bulgogi burrito. We definitely appreciate the new selection of foods at the Wharf but the Yaki Udon and Beef Birria Ramen were pretty heavily high in sodium for our taste. Conversely, the Beef Bulgogi Burrito could use a bit more flavor. Like most if not all eateries, we ordered from the app and because it was about 6 p.m., the wait took a while, up to 15-20 minutes. If you're looking for something new to try, definitely give it a go; however, if you're looking for a satisfying meal, I recommend heading to Flo's in Car's Land to get the fried chicken with mashed potato and vege plate.

Yelp
This new iteration of Lucky Fortune Cookery in the new San Fransokyo Square is a major upgrade to their previous menu offerings. Since the changes, Lucky Fortune Cookery has quickly become one of the more popular options for park goers serving awesome takes on various, popular Asian-fare items. If you're looking for something different than the typical theme park food and are in the mood for some Asian-inspired offerings, Lucky Fortune Cookery has got you covered. Located in Disney California Adventure within the new San Fransokyo Square. Guests have the option to order through a regular standby line or by mobile order through the Disneyland app. There is plenty of seating options shared among the other eateries in the 'square,' but if you're coming to the park on a busy day, be prepared to snatch up a seat and table once one becomes available. I have tried several things on their menu from seasonal specialities to staple menu items. The Beef Birria Ramen and Chicken Karage Sandwich have notably been my favorites, although there are still many more things for me to try. Both items are delicious. The sandwhich came with garlic chips that basically reminded me of garlic flavored shrimp chips which, I'm pretty sure are what the side really is. Either way, they are my favorite side accompaniment to any sandwich throughout the resort! The only issue I have with Lucky Fortune Cookery is the mobile order system. Each time I've used it since being adapted into San Fransokyo Square, it takes FOREVER for the food to come out once you hit the "I'm Here" button on the app. I might as well have just waited in the standby line at that point. Presently, Lucky Fortune Cookery is taking applicable discounts; Magic Key discount included. Note you must have a valid park admission into Disney California Adventure to dine at Lucky Fortune Cookery.
google avatar

Yelp
I wish I could say better about this. The taste was good don't get me wrong, and this was the portion size for the kids meals. Which is very filling- but with someone with IBS like me this wasn't the best option to go to. I learned the hard way.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Came for the Baymax macaron. Ugh it's so cute and so delicious too! It's very sweet, with Nutella in the middle. It was almost too sweet for me (and ya girl has a MASSIVE sweet tooth). But in that case it's perfect to share!
google avatar

Eunice C.

Yelp
Prepare to wait forever. Ordering online gives you an estimate on when your order will be ready. It was about 40-45 minutes wait and when you get the notification to tell them you're nearby, what they don't tell you is you have to wait another 30 minutes for them to get the food out. What's more frustating is when I got my food, it was not even hot. Like I don't know what they have been doing the past hour "preparing food". The udon was not even flavorful, just salty and oily. The karaage "crispy" chicken was not crispy because it had probably been sitting on top of the noodles for a long time. The bokchoy was not seasoned. This dish is not in any way good. Waste of money and calories. The Baymax macaron on the other hand - the reason why I ordered at this place of all the food shops at Disney, was great! It had a crispy outer shell with a good chew in the middle and a great amount of hazelnut filling. I would rather get food at next door Cocina Cucamonga if I ever come back. They are more efficient, food is great and comes out fast.
google avatar

Shirley O.

Yelp
While we were in line at Galaxy of the Guardians, we placed mobile orders since this restaurant was nearby. I ordered the Yaki Udon with Karaage-inspired Crispy Chicken and Thai Iced Tea. The chicken was moist on the inside, but not crispy on the outside. It was flavorful and my favorite part of the dish. There was a good amount of vegetables, but the there was too much sauce. The sauce tasted strange - maybe less hoisin sauce or a different brand may help. The Thai Iced Tea was sickly sweet and I poured water into it to dilute the sugar. It came with boba which was soft and the highlight of the drink. The restaurant is part of San Fransoyoko Square which is a beautiful area with outdoor dining tables and hanging paper lanterns. We enjoyed taking a break here and seeing Baymax.

Yelp
I didn't have any plans to grab anything from Lucky Fortune Cookery, but when I noticed a Beef Bulgogi Burrito ("with Seasoned Rice, Cabbage slaw and Garlic Chips") on the menu, I pretty much didn't have a choice. It was ready within a few minutes of my online order, so I took it over to a nearby table and began eating. It's a decent concoction. The first few bites were basically all rice, so it wasn't the most promising start ever. But as I continued eating, I started getting to the beef bulgogi component and it was very tasty. I probably could've used some sauce on the side, but it was quite good on its own. The garlic chips were indeed very garlicky but it wasn't really my thing so I stopped after one.
google avatar

Czarina D.

Yelp
With San Fransokyo Square completed, they have breathed new life into Lucky Fortune Cookery. BEWARE: it can be quite busy! Even with mobile order, prepare to wait a while after you've clicked I'm Here, Prepare My Order. The biggest reason why my review is a 4 star vs a 5 star is the consistency. I've had several of the dishes many times and have had a different experience almost every time. BUT WHEN THEY NAIL THE FOOD, oh man is it good. For example, the first time I had the Birria Ramen, I was not impressed. The broth was lacking in flavor and the noodles were severely overcooked (borderline gummy). The second time, the broth was way more flavorful and the noodles were cooked well. And it was so delicious! The Pork Wonton Nachos were so good the past time I had them. The pork was seasoned to perfection and there was enough toppings for all the chips. When done right, one of my top dishes here! I've had the Karaage Chicken Sandwich twice and both times they were just as delicious. This is definitely one of my favorites here! I've had the Bulgogi Burrito several times and have had a range of experiences from a basic burrito to a super delicious burrito. This past time the meat was absolutely delicious. I thought the Baymax Macaron was okay. The macaron had a crispy shell and a decent chew. The buttercream was normal. It tasted much better when I got a bite of the hazelnut spread (Nutella), but at the end of the day, it was an average macaron filled with Nutella. One thing is almost always delicious here and it is the garlic chips that they have on the side. I wish they sold it separately because I'd eat a huge bag of them! Overall, I still think it's worth it to order from here although you will be taking a risk on whether the food will be top notch. The times I have went, the Karaage Chicken Sandwich and the Garlic Chips and the Pork Wonton Nachos have been the most consistently delicious!

Yelp
If you're looking for an asian food trip at DCA, this is the hub! Decent price for the amount of the food and also, it will not disappoint! You can also order it via mobile so u don't need to stand in the line for a while instead order it before heading here and by the time ur here its ready! Its an outside food court seating so expect to be loud and try yo look for your table first before anything else. Love the teriyaki bowl! Worth it!

Yelp
This place does not hold up to Asian food standards, but I mean it's Disney. I got the yaki udon with chicken. I ordered through my app and scheduled it to come out in 45 minutes and it was pretty timely. The vegetable choices were interesting and the sauce was a bit too salty. There wasn't that much meat. The seating was a bit hard to find because there were so many people. Next time when I go to Disney I will get their white food.

Yelp
We decided to try luck fortune cookery for lunch during our visit and enjoyed it so much my husband decided to get a sandwich from them for dinner. For lunch we got the kids chicken and rice, kids udon, pot stickers, and IPA beer to try, and the beef ramen. All were delicious. For dinner my husband opted for the chicken sandwich they offer which was also great. Service is faster if you do the mobile ordering. We would come back.

Yelp
October 4, 2023 review. Do better CA Adventures! This place is absolute trash. I don't like giving super negative reviews but here it goes. I saw on my Disney app I could place an order later in the afternoon. So I ordered a bulgogi burrito and birria ramen. My order was ready once I checked in. Both the burrito and ramen were disgusting. Is it because I ordered in advance? The bulgogi burrito was old, stale with hard rice. Someone cut this burrito in half at 3am because rice shouldn't be that hard. The meat was cold and flappy. You couldn't really eat this and honestly, it's good for throwing. Next up, the disgusting birria ramen. The ramen noodles were a block of blob which was cold and hard. The broth was hot covered in onions and freeze dried corn. Honestly this place is gross. You picture a decent meal from Disney but this is absolute garbage and good for throwing into the water under the San Fransoyko bridge. Don't eat here. I'm telling everyone, don't eat here until they improve.
google avatar

Danielle L.

Yelp
Food was decent. The food definitely has one of the more unique flavors since it's a fusion place. Portion side could be bigger for the udon. Tried to come back to order a macaroon but was not able to get into the line because they had a cast member standing at the end blocking people. They have plates of the cookies stacked up and ready to hand out at the mobile order pick up window. I expressed my interest in ONLY purchasing the cookie and the cast member thought about it for a second before saying no again. Sucks it was my birthday too, but I guess it depends on the cast member. There was still a line of 30 or so people.

Yelp
The wait was a little long, but I thought the food was really good! I had the Beef Birria Ramen and a Baymax macaroon. It was getting chilly and the ramen was very hearty, warming and tasty. Definitely hit the spot! The Baymax cookie was adorable but didn't have a lot of flavor. I don't think I would get it again, but it definitely has a cuteness factor that's also really Instagrammable. Seating is shared with the other eateries, but it has a cool street vibe and Asian influences.

Yelp
I love San Fransokyo. So cute. The food from Lucky Fortune is tasty but the food took forever.

Yelp
4 STARS Inside of Disney's California Adventure, you can try the new San Fransokyo food options! Everyone has been raving about this new area so we gave it a shot. You preorder on the Disneyland app ahead of time and choose a pickup window. We went with the Birria Ramen ($15.49), Bulgogi Burrito ($13.99), and Lychee Tea ($6.99). Out of all the items, we were pleasantly surprised by the Birria Ramen. Our expectations were low and it definitely exceeded our expectations for theme park food! There was tons of flavor in the ramen from the birria and they even had a soft boiled egg and cheese in the ramen. Try this dish if you're wondering what to eat if you're on the California Adventure side!

Yelp
Some of the better food in DCA. The beef birra ramen is good. I saw lots of reviews that said it was cold but mine was nice and hot! And I also liked the noodles and the amount of beef. Great hybrid cuisine. The baymax macaron is good but WAYYY to sweet in my opinion. I'd maybe get the ramen again on a cold night. Good amount of spice but too hot for the middle of a summer day. But at the end of the day, San Fransokyo square is so so cute! The decorations are unbeatable and the seating is a-plenty.

Yelp
The disappointment after waiting over an hour for mediocre food. Yaki Udon Stir Fry with Katsu Style Fried Chicken - ($18.99) - Probably the worst meal I've had at Disney so far, the sauce with all the toppings is VERY overwhelming. The amount of actual udon in the bowl is embarrassing. Chicken was decently fried with a good amount of flavor, but everything else in that bowl was not very good or worth the money. Hard pass.

Yelp
2 stars I have ignored this place for months now. But, the Beef Birria Ramen has garnered enough curiosity out of me to actually give it try, so I showed up. Typically, I'd order mobile, but after having read a couple of reviews, I decided to order from the line instead. I ordered the Beef Birria Ramen and Thai Tea. The beef was tender and consomme was flavorful, but it was incredibly salty. The noodles were perfectly al dente, however, some parts have clumped together and would NOT separate which makes me think it's not made-to-order. The corn really helped cut through some of the heaviness. 3/5 stars. Thai Tea came with brown sugar boba and sea salt cream. The boba was great! It was the right texture, but the brown sugar is premade syrup. The Thai Tea reminds me of those powder Thai Tea mixes you can get from an Asian grocery store - not strong enough and really sugary. I was told this is a popular, returning drink and I feel terrible for disliking it as much as I do. I hate to say it, but...1/5 stars. Side note: they need to have containers that will allow people to pour out the leftover soup rather than throw it in the trash can.

Yelp
This is THE spot to eat in Sanfransokyo. You can just tell by the constant HUGE line. Mobile order ahead and say you are here 30 minutes before you get there because during the lunch and dinner rush, it'll take a long time to get ready. Onto the food. I had the karage inspired chicken sandwich, kids yaki udon noodles, and the Baymax macaron Yaki Udon Noodles: Its the highlight here! Mushrooms, sugar snap peas, red peppers, bok choy, dark soy & hoisin sauce. The noodles were thick and succulent, a bit of sweetness, complex rich flavor (sometimes asian dishes made by lackluster eateries taste like just soy sauce or a sharp artifical perfumey taste/smell but not this!). The veggies were plentiful, crunchy, and the kids portion was generous. Get this! Karaage inspired crispy chicken sandwich: SKIP! No special flavor, but nice and crispy, the potato bun is meh, the togorashi mayonnaise makes it taste oily, its dark meat chicken, and those garlic chips it comes with have a great garlic flavor but after 2 of them you will feel disgusting because it just turns into oil in your mouth. Not going back for this one. Baymax Macaron: pretty good. It crumbles easy, nice nuts and nutella in the center, moist inside, sugary crispy sweet outside. Not a must get but definitely worth a try. I uploaded a video of all these on you tube disneyworld vacationer. I would like to go back and try the beef birria ramen. Very clean here. Ambiance is really nice, especially at night with the lit lanterns. The seating here is always full so take your food to cars land and eat with the view of the canyon. Beautiful

Yelp
So recently, California Adventure's Pacific Wharf transformed into San Fransokyo Square - changed their decor and menus, and play continuous upbeat J-pop. Lucky Fortune Cookery's menu changed as well, and now have more Japanese inspired menu items. I never really ate here before, but it sure has gotten a lot busier since the menu change! I tried the beef birria ramen ($15.49), pork wonton nachos ($10.49), and lychee tea ($6.99). The ramen had a kick to it, but I felt the birria flavor wasn't as pronounced compared to other places I've tried (outside the park). The noodles weren't heated through so they felt "stiff" if that makes sense. I also hate cilantro so the onion/cilantro topping made it impossible for me to eat (it was my sister's and she liked the dish). The pork wontons were good, the flavors (the cheese sauce, spicy aioli and hoisin on the pork) worked well together. The lychee tea was sweet and good, but I'm not a fan of lychee since it can be a bit perfumy, but my sister likes them and so liked the drink as well. Regardless of the menu change, the wait time now is kind of ridiculous, and not sure if I'll eat here unless someone in my group orders something (like in this case).

Yelp
Could it be? Possibly, sure why not! Who could argue? Yes! The best sandwich I have had at a Disney park! With the addition of San Fransokyo Square, Disney's California Adventure has kept to a new level of ambiance and culinary greatness. I was inspired to try this Karaage Chicken Sandwich by Ordinary Adventures, travel vloggers my wife and I started following to prepare for our Disney vacation. The tangy somewhat spicy umami flavor of the chicken was phenomenal. Not too dry, not too moist. It was amazing. The pop chips as a side were addicting and fun to eat as well. And what do you know, a single shishito pepper (my wife's favorite of all the peppers) as a garnish. To finish it off, o enjoyed eating Baymax's head macaron. It was sweet and the perfect consistency. I wish I had more! I will definitely return to this cookery in the future. I am a huge fan of what Disney has done to this section of DCA. The service was so fast as well. I have no complaints. I give it 5 out of 5 Zachary's.

Yelp
Lucky Fortune Cookery can be found in San Fransokyo Square. If you can, order ahead on the Disney app as there's always a long line & a long wait. While you're waiting for your food, try to find somewhere to sit down in the pier. Lots of seating but super busy area around meal times. Their beef birria ramen was actually pretty good! A little spicy, but tolerable. I would def order it again.

Yelp
I had a really bad experience with the Thai Tea at this restaurant. The tea tasted artificial and lacked the authentic Thai Tea flavor. The Yaki Udon with Chicken was okay but, considering the price of almost $20, you can definitely find other delicious food options in the park. I was disappointed because this restaurant is known for its good food. The long line was worsened by having only one counter open, causing a longer wait time. The ambiance was great, but it was difficult to find a seat during lunch or dinner hours.

Yelp
A few people raved about the plant-based Yaki Udon, so I made it a point to mobile order here for one of my meals on a recent Disney trip. Unfortunately, these were lukewarm and not the most flavorful noodles. I hope they add more vegetarian or vegan options in the future, especially with tofu as I feel like they could have a really solid crispy tofu fried rice dish or even improve this one.
