"The young chefs behind LUFU (Let Us Feed U) have made a splash with their hip, stylish restaurant in the CBD. It’s a hub for upscale regional Indian cuisine, dishes like dahi ke kebab, a Mughlai specialty of fried yogurt dumplings and mirchi bhajji, a South Indian street food of stuffed banana peppers. It’s all remarkable, including staples like pani puri, chole bhatture, and biryani. Creative cocktails, an artsy atmosphere, and delicious desserts round out the restaurant." - Beth D'Addono, Clair Lorell
"The brainchild of a trio of South Asian pals who happen to be chefs, LUFU (Let Us Feed U) goes beyond the traditional butter chicken and chicken masala dishes with dishes like pani puri, from the north of India, Indo-Chinese dishes like chili gobi, popular in Kolkata and laal masa, a goat curry linked to the city of Rajasthan. Try a naanwich for lunch, naan pressed with fillings like chicken tikka masala or fried shrimp with mint chutney." - Beth D'Addono
"LUFU NOLA, one of New Orleans’s most hotly anticipated pop-up-turned-restaurants in recent years, did not fail to deliver. Its trio of chefs — Sarthak Samantray, Aman Kota, and Sachin Darade — has created a welcoming home for their elegant rendition of regional Indian cuisine, one they’ve evolved since their days as a food stall and mobile kitchen. The team has designed magnificent presentations for their biryani, chole bhature, and falooda; photo-worthy cocktails; and eye-catching backdrops at this first-time solo space, building a true hotspot that advances New Orleans’s growing Indian food scene." - Clair Lorell
"The chefs of LUFU NOLA are preparing to serve a special Diwali dinner on November 12. It's their fourth year celebrating Diwali as LUFU, but the first in their own restaurant. The restaurant is located at 301 St. Charles Avenue, a former Willie’s Chicken Shack, transformed into a modern, elegant space with a bar, navy blue-painted brick walls, breezy light fixtures, colorful murals, and a large wall map of India. The chefs focus on pushing the boundaries of traditional Indian cuisine. The five-course dinner menu includes a fall shorba, chaat with spaghetti squash, scallops with bessara, venison with burnt coconut and black sesame, and a dessert called “Not a gulab jamun,” featuring chenna jhilli." - Clair Lorell
