"Here’s our Luis Galindo rule: you come here on Thursdays, sit down at the long counter by the sandwich station, and order the ajiaco a la criolla. It’s a hearty Cuban soup with pork, yuca, malanga, platanos, and chunks of corn still on the cob. This ajiaco is a little thick, and unlike Colombian ajiaco, it doesn’t have any potatoes. We know this sounds counterintuitive, but it’s the perfect food to get you sweating and cooled down on a hot summer day. If it's not Thursday (the only day ajiaco is available), there’s no need to fiddle through their big laminated menu complete with jewelry exchange ads. You’re ordering the tamal en cazuela—a thick corn stew with braised pork." - Virginia Otazo

"Bistec empanizado is a breaded and fried palomilla steak, a very popular Cuban dish. At Luis Galindo’s Latin American 2, its portions of this dish are bigger than most and it pairs perfectly with rice and black beans and sweet plantains. Available for takeout." - Stacy A. Moya

I had a mediocre experience at this restaurant. The food itself isn't that good. Some foods tasted too much of oil while others tasted fine. Also as we ordered they said that any meal with egg costs a $1 extra. That's ridiculous, its not the customers fault theres an egg problem right now And ive been to other restaurants that serve eggs without an extra charge. Service was also not the best as our server never stopped by to ask if we needed anything else and by the end of our meal she never came to pick up our food or give us our check so we had to call a random server over to help us. Place also has basic decor and theme. Probably won't come again.

I came back after 15 years , exited to be there , however I got surprised with the prices .. some of them were not even matching the menu price . But the worst thing was that now THEY ARE INCLUIDING THE TIP , looks like a 18% mandatory. I understand when it’s a big party ! My table was 3 adults and a baby . I think it’s too much . Furthermore the portion of food in every time less and less

Excellent Cuban Coffee!! Great Staff !!

I came on Christmas day to enjoy a dinner w/ friends. We decided to be seated on outdoor seats and the service was extremely slow. The tamales on leaf were horrible and the salmon grille a little overcooked. I reduce stars from 4 to 3 star because they make me feel bad in front of my guesses. day Best breakfast place around. All people are nice. You have a lot of option to choose. 24/7 service. They dont have wifi service

Google
My first Cuban sandwich and I‘m sold. So delicious and huge portions for a fair price. Even though I don’t speak any Spanish, the waitress was super friendly and did her best to make sure that I’m having a good time.

Google
I always enjoy going to their other restaurant and I love it. I liked this one too their food great as usual for food I’ll give 5 stars. But customer service was really bad we sat there for more than 10 minutes before I went I got our menus. To get water also a hassle; the girls were very disorganized they started serving the bread and water to a table that came up after us. Also they were sending each other to serve the tables, it was busy but not crazy our section had probably 4 waitress and no-one came up to us until I got up and talk to one of them. Trying to get our check another long wait when the restaurant was empty only us and another table. I give a 3 stars just for the lack of customer service nothing like their other restaurant.

Google
Cuban food for indoor eating and at outdoor counter. They have daily specials and soups and a Cuban espresso counter. I like the cortadito, sweet espresso with a little milk. They also have guarapo, which is freshly made sugar cane juice. Most orders come with free toasted Cuban bread. I mainly get the soups to go, which have a great price, but also like their Cuban sandwiches, such as pan con bistec, as well as their entrees. Latin America restaurants are throughout Miami. This is one location, and they have some of the best prices for this type of food.

Google
It was a beautiful experience. Jasmine, our waiter, took the time to bring our breakfast orders promptly and well done. She greeting us with a big smile even though she was working hard on Christmas Day! I would definitely come back again!

Valeria G.

Yelp
Crema de malanga is great. Always open & great service. My go to for cafe con leche & Cuban toast!

Alex B.

Yelp
Honestly think this is a solid place, the food is always usually pretty good. The service is always great and quick. It's open late, can't get better than that. And while not important I love the music they play, they always have a good station playing.

Odalys G.

Yelp
The food is fantastic the waitress super friendly se los recomiendo Los sándwiches cubano son riquísimo

Liz M.

Yelp
Quite frankly, I cannot comprehend how this establishment has such low reviews. I've been coming here for at least 15 years. It's open late, the food is great quality and affordable Cuban food. The ambience is quiet unless the youth fair is ongoing. I always sit outside and the service is prompt and professional.

Gerry L.

Yelp
For me growing up in a Cuban household it was very hard to find a good Cuban restaurant. Recently we ordered lunch from Latin American and it blew our expectations out of the water. We ordered two grilled palomilla steak with white rice and fried sweet plantains. The quality and flavors of the food were exceptional and the portion was good for two meals. Don't judge this restaurant by its appearance because this place serves delicious Cuban food!

Linda A.

Yelp
The environment of this small place is very exotic with it's Cuban culture and cuisine. Wooden chairs and tables. Cuban decor. Outdoor dining too. Great customer service. The food was great. I ordered what looked like non spicy pepper steak mixed with sliced, cooked peppers and gravy. Lomo salteado picado in Spanish I guess. I also tried their rice and beans which were extremely delicious. The beans had an almost sweet onion very Cuban taste to them, like Versailles. This is a great place to get very good food. I had never been inside before, but it's a pretty decent place to come eat absolutely delicious Hispanic food, located in an extremely convenient location.

Paloma M.

Yelp
Latin American always offers great food. I love their hours, you can always count on them to find great food even at a late hour. Their deals for the completas are great. I love their vaca frita, the arroz moro, the yuca ( fried or boiled), their pan con lechon, or the pan con bistec.

Vanessa L.

Yelp
In my personal opinion latin american diners do not dissappoint. It is a place where you can go get full, pay a decent price (for miami), and the food still taste amazing. I personally come here or order from here frequently because my mom lives around the corner. This time I ordered for pick up and I normally get the same things. This particular time I went with their soups. Their soups are always good. The chicken noodle is amazing and can probably cure any cold. The crema de malanga also a win. My mom loves getting their platano soup. I had also ordered pollo a la plancha and bistec empanizado. Again both amazing both made well. I have to rant and rave about the beans as well. So good! When I got there to pick up two ladies came to ask if they can help which was amazing since it was decently busy. I sat at the bar and waited for the food to be done. Took like 10 minutes and the lady spoke to me as she prepared the food to go wrapping the soups so as to not spill. All in all this place is great. I can imagine it should be a good spot for a hangover meal especially being next to college town FIU. I would think it would cure that headache for the next day.

James B.

Yelp
We stopped today for early dinner. And we were surprised with the service and the quality of the food. The staff was professional fast, and everything was delicious. The hot buttered bread was almost over the top. We will be back

Raquel P.

Yelp
Like Latin American 1 but not with Coral Gables crowd. The Palomilla was good and the Tamal en Cazuela very tasty. Having said that, the white rice and the boiled yuca were cold when served. The service was good and we always got our water glasses filled.

Sandy M.

Yelp
I don't know what been going on the the managers in this place. The last 2 time that I have eaten here the place has been dirty. Both times the seats were dirty and so were the window. As a matter of fact last time we saw a dead fly on the windo sill and tonight it seems to be the same fly. These issues are bad because the food is not bad in this restaurant I have been a customer for over 15 years. But tonight will be my last time. It bothers me me to say because the food is very good.

Isis P.

Yelp
Old and unappealing Do not recommend Conveniently open 24/7 Visited once never again. Note to owner: maybe refurbishing on this location as you have in your other places.

Ana J.

Yelp
Chicharrón de pollo is ALWAYS my favorite and the breakfast! The service is always great too, our favorite server is Mari!

Cristy B.

Yelp
Food is delicious! We had tamal en cazuela and ajiaco. Service outside was very courteous and efficient! I haven't eaten inside but the outside space seems great! I just order my food and go.

Isabel C.

Yelp
Mi favorito de aquí es la sopa de pollo con una ración de arroz blanco y los panecitos de la casa!!! Comida cubana auténtica!! No se pierdan los batidos que son hechos frescos !!! Servicio rápido My favorite here is the chicken soup with a serving of white rice and the house rolls!!! Authentic Cuban food!! Don't miss the shakes that are made fresh!!! Very fast service as well which is great

Otty B.

Yelp
Warm welcome , friendly staff and quick order. The steak have a great flavor and it's huge. Thank you.!!

Andre V.

Yelp
Been going for years, love the food. Breakfast, lunch or dinner! Amazing!!! feels and taste like homemade food and atmosphere! Service isn't up there in terms of quality they see a high volume of traffic at times and it's kind of in and out, especially in the outside bar. Not that it's bad just not out of their way or high quality service. Other than that they have great daily specials and inexpensive!

Ashlyn A.

Yelp
Ordered a massive Cuban sandwich to-go for dinner tonight - it was delicious! At $11.15 after tax, it was a cost efficient meal and was plenty for two people. They used generous amounts of ham, pork, and Swiss, and it was pressed to perfection! I can't wait to go back and eat in the restaurant next time! This place is no frills and does the classics well.

Rafael S.

Yelp
Excellent Counter service by Ms. Digna and the rest of the crew. We go mostly for their awesome Tamal en Cazuela. Vaca Frita is also very good.

Ana S.

Yelp
I went here recently because my boyfriend said it was the best Cuban food in South Miami and he was right. The special Cuban sandwich was very good and very filling as well. Highly recommend it.

Winnie H.

Yelp
Giving 2 stars for the service we received. The food was good but the service needs work. The waitress was nice, however she forgot one of the sides (maduros) we ordered, we told her not to worry about it, we ate, then we asked for our bill. When we got the bill, we realized we were charged for the side (maduros) that we never got because as stated earlier she forgot it. She corrected the bill, this shouldn't have happened because she should've taken it off the bill right after she informed us, we shouldn't have to remind her of her mistakes. We also asked the bill to be split 3 ways, she was confused and didn't know how to split a bill 3 way, so to make it easier for her we asked just to have it split into 2, she was able to do that. The interior of the restaurant is not appealing at all, but food is affordable and good.

Albert N.

Yelp
Tuve la dicha que Lisbetty me arendio. Que agradable y feliz. No se pierde atras del mostrador como otras. La comida siempre muy buena, pero otras camareras deberian seguir el ejemplo de Lisbetty.

The C.

Yelp
No complaints from this place! Tasty and affordable Cuban food and just a great place to hang out or have meetings with colleagues. The service was also great and attentive. I felt very welcomed. Come here with a buddy, order a beer or materva, and just chill. Definitely will come here again when I'm back in the area.

David C.

Yelp
Food is mediocre at best here for Cuban food. Staff is nice but place is not very clean inside or outside. They offer great daily specials and open 24 hours.

Rhaegal C.

Yelp
We came here to try the breakfast and it was ok. I am giving 2 stars because my order was wrong and items were missing. I specifically asked for two soft fried eggs and received over cooked hard fried eggs. The waitress didn't bring other items that were missed despite asking two times. The restaurant was not busy at all either. We will not eat here again and will stick to our regular spot.

Mandii E.

Yelp
Love their breakfast deal and they are open 24/7. Service is quick and the food is always good.

Philip M.

Yelp
Last Wednesday a friend of mine and I went to this establishment, just like we have been going to for the past 20 plus years. We both proceeded to order the same thing, a Cuban sandwich...and to our surprise..we both agreed that it was the worst Cuban sandwich we have ever had not just here...but from anywhere else. The pernil was super dry and it was a thick cut..and had a funny taste. The following day I called my friend and he told me that he had vomited the whole sandwich, same for myself. If you're looking for a good Cuban sandwich, DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE.

Alexandra Q.

Yelp
I am obsessed with the food here. I also love how quick they are with the ordering and serving process. the restaurant could do with a remodeling but apart from the aesthetics, it's worth the food.

Z R.

Yelp
The epitome of Cuban food. Fast flavorful and to the point. Don't expect a fancy place. This place is meant to get you fed and out. From inside seating to sitting outside at the counter, you'll love the experience. Generous sandwiches and a hot plate of whatever Cuban meal you desire is available. The experience is so precise that no matter which one you go to it proves it's a time tested formula. Enjoy the meal and chase it down with your favorite beverage. All while salsa is being played in the background.... all reasonably priced.

Rafael B.

Yelp
Food is delicious , location is great and staff IS amazing. All i feel is needed is another bread toaster . You guys have 1 ... just 1 that everyone uses outside and the bread is Never toasted like it's supposed too. Please work on that and invest in a new one or another one.

D G.

Yelp
Made a quick stop for something to eat given it was 11:15 pm be Sunday. We were starving. I must say the service was fast, the food was good and they met our expectations for a quick delicious sandwich. We had a "bocadito preparado" with fries and a sangria. All were absolutely delicious. Dalia, our waiter, and a young smiling girl with long black ponytail made sure we had all we needed and were in and out without any hiccups. Would I recommend this place - definitely would.

Emma H.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Never disappointed! Well prices. Their mariquietas are to die for with the mojo. And they make arroz con pollo right- the only place that's ever come close to abuelas.

Jawhara G.

Yelp
Definitely stepped up their game! I used to come here often as a student at FIU because it is right next door, they offer a discount, and the food was good! I went back today for the first time in years and the food seemed to be much better than I remember! I ordered the Palomilla steak with mashed potatoes and rice and my sister ordered the shrimp criolla with a salad and rice & beans. The highlight of the meal is the buttered Cuban toast they serve in the beginning as it has to be the best in Miami! The waitresses were very pleasant although some don't speak much English so if you don't speak Spanish it's a small barrier. The menu has both Spanish and English so it's not that hard to communicate. The portions are a great size especially for the price. I will more than likely be back again for lunch.

Liudmila D.

Yelp

Jaisel C.

Yelp
Mayte the store manager and the employees at the front are the worst unprofessional people I've ever dealt with. They disrespected my husband and I various of times, avoiding to attend us, messed up the whole order and refused to correct it or refund my money. when we called back they hung up on us multiple times and refused to answer our questions and solve our issues. They took the order wrong and wanted us to pay for the replacement of the food . And after everything there was still items missing. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone . not the first time I got attended this way by them. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER . I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH UPPER MANAGEMENT AND LET THEM KNOW THEY NEED BETTER EMPLOYEES AND MANAGERS CURRENT STAFF IS UNACCEPTABLE. If i can leave 0 stars i would

Gaby F.

Yelp
It was Sunday, mid day and we sat outside. Our server Maria del Carmen was actually very nice; which surprised me after reading some of the reviews and the comments regarding the overall service. And with the food: you get what you pay for. That applies 100% here. What I didn't like although it's something minor is the fact that they gave me my cafe con leche in a to-go cup and with no lid, why? If I was sitting at the bar waiting for the food to arrive. Oh well It's ok if you feel like eating their type of food and don't want to spend much. Breakfast, an order of rabo encendido and a natilla for $31. Not bad.

Juan H.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! First time there the staff were very helpful guiding through the menu! If I'm ever back in Miami for sure stopping again! Service was super fast as well!

Barbara B.

Yelp
We drove past and decided to have brunch. Looks like the typical Latin American diner. The food and coffee is surprisingly good, no actually excellent. Service is friendly. The food came quickly, and I didn't have to wait long for my second cafe con Leche. Which is important when you are in dire need for your daily shots of caffeine. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
*There may be two yelp pages for this location* This place offers the best breakfast deal in the area! A full breakfast plate with coffee comes out to less than $6 in total. While they rarely have servers who can speak English, in Miami, most of us know how to get around that barrier. They have a large menu with several typical Cuban options. I have visited this place probably over 50 times in the last five years. The best part is that the food is extremely consistent. The only downfall would be that ever since they renovated, they no longer serve yellow rice.

Andrea P.

Yelp
Ok this is a very popular Cuban restaurant in the area, open late, and an option for the late night munchies. Personally, not a favorite. I've tried so many Cuban places (in Miami, how can you not) and this place just doesn't cut it for me. I ALWAYS feel like something is lacking. Maybe flavor? Not sure but I've tried many dishes and they're just OK for me. Service is always great though. The waitresses are always very quick and attentive. Just not a place I would willingly choose.

Arlene M.

Yelp
This was my favorite breakfast place, but boy has this place changed. The food is subpar at best. The floor is sticky, the tables poorly cleaned. The service staff act as they are bothered by serving you. We had to ask for water, utensils and napkins. They brought out the wrong food. The bread was kinda burnt and food barely warm. I need a new go to for breakfast... how sad!

Sara D.

Yelp
I was told this is the same owner of the now defunct location in Coral away. That was the best Latin American Cafeteria in Miami. Too bad it's gone. This location was open late. Around 11:00PM when we got there. We were seated promptly inside, the place was pretty full. I wanted steak so my friend and I shared a steak sandwich. I noticed it said with ham. I asked the waiter to remove the ham. It came with it. It wasn't bad, but not the best. The grill cheese standard. The Frita- a large beef patty, but tasteless. I tried it and didn't like it. I wasn't too impressed with the food. Service was friendly.

Onyx C.

Yelp
Is there something less than one star? Because if there is, that will be my rating. I do not exaggerate at all when I say that the "media noche" was awful: the pork slice was grossly thick, dry, tasteless and gray in color; the cheese was kind of a pasty white greasy stuff; the bread was over toasted and dry. How can a Cuban restaurant fails to make a decent "media noche"? Who is running this place? Isn't anybody supervising the quality of the food being served? Unfortunately, it isn't the first time, I gave it a pass before but this is it... NOT COMING BACK!!!

Morgan C.

Yelp
We ordered today croquets wow they were Savage ! Yumm but we order some empanadas that were so good i teared when i had the second one. I mean this is what an empanada should taste like really . Juicy w season and hot fried and baked . Fried is beat Lord Yumm ! The Cuban sandwich was awesome pressed perfectly huge and smelled and tasted like N original Cuban sandwich from Miami! This location still rocks!

John R.

Yelp
On june 5th 2020 i went for breakfast to this restaurant with my mother and it was a new but pleasant experience. I understand and follow all rules that businesses have so i entered with my mask and once i sat i took it off. I ordered the ham and cheese omelete with french fries and a water while my mom ordered some cuban toast with coffee and milk (cafe con leche) with some 2 sunny side up eggs with grits. The waitress was formal and explained the rules before we started ordering and our food came out in a timely manner whilr our waitress brought waters eith platic utensils as requested by us. This place is great and have been in business a long time and is a big part of this nearby community, ill always come here for a pleasant time with friends and family.

Karla P.

Yelp
Every waitress there has a piece of my heart. Amazing service! Great food! Love the lil outside cafeteria thing going on here. Awesome breakfast deals, & they have one of the best batidos de mamey you can find around town. Remember to tip!!!!

Clark B.

Yelp
The ambience is casual like a diner. No frills. But relaxed. I had Ropa Vieja, white rice, tostones. Ropa Vieja: delicious, green peppers, onions. White rice: good, not sticky or soupy. Tostones: good, large, not greasy, crunchy, as I like. Be prepared to order in Spanish. Inexpensive. Good service. Good value.

Lynette M.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with this place this is my go to when I'm craving Cuban breakfast or lunch, and specially their shakes. So I've been coming here since I was a toddler up to now. Regarding restaurants location it's in a great area right in-front of "The fair expo" and 5 mins away from FIU . With their parking it's always an issue every time arriving to this place due to the face that the restaurant takes up more than the space, and they also have a small body shop next to this restaurant and other shops. As soon as you walk in you have most of the staff out ready to assist, and give you a warm welcome. They give you the choice of sitting where you like. They come over serve you water, and depending on time you go for example: lunch or dinner ( you'll get complimentary toast with butter). Now they normally have a special for breakfast before 12pm for $4.99 section which comes with two eggs ( scrambled, fried), one type of meat ( bacon, sausage, ham ), hash brown or fries, toast, with cafe con leche. Normally I always get it substituted for batido de mamey which is my favorite, and in total is around $7-8, and my lunch is always that pan con bistec even though I'm not a steak eater but that's how far I go! But definitely will keep returning back to this place!

A S.

Yelp
Horrible.... Ordered ham croquettes no taste, soggy, cold. Media noche sándwich again taste less and cold. Couldn't find it taste the pernil, extremely over loaded horrible cheap HAM and pickles meat for hamburgers bread looked Jaundice soggy. Wont be going there! Over priced!

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
The food was discussing, I ordered biste empanizado the steak didn't have no flavor and the breading was falling right off. More breading then steak. The bathroom were gross . The only good thing was the bread that they give with the water. . Last time here.
