The Best Mexican Restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"This South Lake Union restaurant is an offshoot of Maiz, a Pike Place tortilleria that has been selling nixtamalized heirloom corn tortillas since 2021. You can come to Maiz Molino for those tortillas — packed with so much flavor you could eat them warm by themselves — or the tacos filled with rotating options including chicken mole, pork adobada, and beef asada. But you can also come here for dinner Thursday to Sunday and try items like pork cheeks in mole or short ribs over heirloom masa grits. The extensive drinks menu here even features snake venom–infused sotol, if you are willing to pay $30 for a shot." - Charlie Lahud-Zahner

The 19 Best Mexican Restaurants In Seattle

"Pike Place Market is a jackpot of shellfish, salmon, and halibut. But Maíz makes the waterfront an area where Mexican food is just as exciting as a bread bowl full of clam chowder. This tortilleria serves homemade nixtamalized corn tortillas that are so good we plan to consume them regularly until robots replace us all. They have a bunch of stupendous dishes with their freshly ground corn masa at the forefront, from puffy sopes (their best dish) and quesadillas to tacos. They even make delicious tortilla chips, and they’re so crunchy that you could probably use them to communicate with The International Space Station." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

The 27 Best Restaurants & Bars At Pike Place Market

"Maíz is a tortilleria that serves homemade nixtamal tortillas so good that we plan to consume them regularly until we're old enough to always have pocket breadcrumbs just in case a duck comes along. This colorful counter serves a bunch of stupendous Mexican dishes with their freshly ground corn masa at the forefront, from cheesy tamales and quesadillas to phenomenal sopes topped with things like stewed chicken, pickled onion, cotija, and crema. They even make delicious tortilla chips, and they’re so crunchy that you could probably use them to communicate with The International Space Station. If you’ve been coerced into a trip down here to “be a tourist in your own city” by out-of-town guests, and you don’t want your lunch to have come from the ocean, Maíz makes for a perfect stop. Some of the best tamales ive had in town! You can tell they make everything in house and it's all packed with flavor. The salsa that came with the chips was so flavorful I was trying to find the recipe. Coming here for tamales from here on out and hopefully trying out their brunch!

Had a nice Thursday dinner with some friends at this Maiz location. Chips could have been saltier and our entrees could have been a bit spicier, but overall the Mexican food options we tried were tasty. Prices were high (there's a default service charge which is not a tip), and service was ok at best (pretty slow throughout.) But - my margaritas were great and the corn tortillas fantastic.

I regret not trying the carne asada but got full after the delicious handmade sope, the appropriately spicy aguachile (spice water), los tacos de lengua (beef tongue). While all the food was good the star of the show was definitely the whitexican cocktail, think espresso marinti with mezcal and hochata.

Sunday brunch was amazing! Starting with the Mimosa all the way through each entree, I couldn’t ask for a better experience. Our server was wonderfully attentive but not stifling. My friend is from Guatemala. He was entranced by how good the food was. Presentation was perfectly matched with the flavors. I’m looking forward to our next brunch there…probably our new go to!!

The food was absolutely amazing. The broth in the tumbado rice and the chochoyote caldo was so delicious and flavorful. With the friendly welcoming staff, delicious food and an amazing atmosphere you can't go wrong.

The staff were really nice and helped me choose a delicious meal of mussels in a chorizo sauce. Flavours were great!

Google
I got what was labeled as El Huarache from here - which was a masa base spread with beans, flank steak, lettuce, and onions I haven’t had this before in a Mexican restaurant - in fact - I don’t remember seeing this on a menu before I do have to say it’s not my favorite menu item, however I thought the masa base on the bottom was quite bland. It had no real texture beyond being a mush that wasn’t really that pleasant to eat. While I understand that’s how the dish is, for me I didn’t really enjoy eating that part The other parts of the dish were better, though. The steak was cooked relatively well - although I wish they’d use a fattier cut rather than what appeared to be flank steak. I did appreciate the combination of vegetables and sour cream that were included. The salsa was pretty good as well and had a nice spice I have a feeling my dislike of this food has more to do with the specific dish I ordered than the restaurant itself. I do see myself coming here again - and I might order the tlacoyos, gorditas, or chilaquiles to see if I can get a better judge on the quality itself. However, at least for now, I can’t say this place was impressive For the price of around $18, it is at least a lot of food, which is nice Overall, a dish lacking in flavor but I’ll look to try other ones next time. 6.5/10

Yelp
Fine dining Mexican dishes in a casual, colorful setting. Friendly, attentive service and fresh takes on all the classics. Recommend the short rib, elote risotto, ceviche tostada, and affogato - enjoy!

Yelp
Incredible, authentic and delicious Mexican food. We had brunch and could not have been happier. Haurachitos Divorcados and Huevos Rancheros. The cucumber lemonade is so fresh and refreshing and not too sweet or sour. Israel was a very kind and accommodating server. We felt like we had a vacation in Mexico.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch after visiting the space needle. Everyone in my party loved the food here and we all agreed the ceviche was very fresh!

Yelp
Best tacos I've had in Seattle for a LONG TIME. Hooked! Pastor is my fav. Rancheros and carnitas are incredible as well.

Yelp
Stopped by here for a drink and quick bite and was not let down. Small establishment that is packed with character, attitude, and color. I recommend any of their cocktails or mixed drinks. The service was awesome and the restaurant staff took care of us.

Yelp
Ismael "Mayo" gave us excellent service. He gave us plate suggestions and we loved and enjoyed every bite. The ambience of this little cute Mexican restaurant brought memories from my childhood. Gracias Mayo por tu mini charla nos dio gusto conocerte. Tus amigos de Portland.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly service, and fun atmosphere for dinner! Came on a Sunday night. Made reservations in advance for 2 people at 7:30pm. Restaurant had only a few tables busy when we arrived but by the middle of our meal it was packed with people. With lots of people and semi-loud music, it's on the noisy side, but still a great spot to enjoy dinner. Bathrooms were clean. Food: + cucumber lime agua fresca - very refreshing and really enjoyed with our meal + Duck mole chalupa - mole sauce was very flavorful and tasty, duck was tender. We really liked this appetizer! + Molino's Asado - also nicely executed. The meat was tender and was on top of a bed of bean puree with salsa and green sauce. Everything was flavorful and the tortillas made a nice addition to the entree. + Elote Risotto - not as protein hearty but had a nice flavor and texture. There was a red oil on it that had a nice kick. + Dessert - flan - a great way to end our meal. Overall, we really enjoyed the food here. In our opinion, the price is a little high for the portion, but the meal was tasty and service was great, so we would be happy to come back again to try their other items or to check out their lunch options.

Yelp
We loved our meal here. The server was super friendly and helpful :) we all really enjoyed our food and it was almost too much to finished but we were famished after a day of walking around dt. This is more authentic Mexican food than you might be used to be I absolutely love the fresh tortillas and corn based dishes. They said that Their dishes aren't from one part of Mexico but a combination of all the different regions. I really enjoyed the catch of the day and the margarita and guac. Guys thought their carne asada was pretty good and mom liked the mole too! Would love to come back and try more items, the interior is bright clean festive and still modern. The meal for dinner was a bit pricey, with apps & one drink each we spent around $60 pp with tax and tip. Would definitely come again for something smaller or to try the brunch. Great staff , lovely food and atmosphere.

Yelp
We thought the food was very good. Especially enjoyed the tomato salad. Two seafood dishes were savory/ tasty. Service very good. Looks like a lunch counter but this was the best Mexican we've had in a long time.

Yelp
I walked past this restaurant a few times and was curious because of the super cute and bright interior. The restaurant has very modern decoration with lots of colourful tiles. Noise level is moderate with no loud music. There is a long table that works for big group, but otherwise there aren't a lot of tables so you should get a reservation in case it gets busy. Our group of 3 had no problem with getting seated during dinner time. I got the taco plates with 3 tacos: steak rancheros, chicken and pork. They come with rice and beans as well. Mine comes with a green sauce and my friend with the exact same taco plate order comes with a spicy red sauce. It was very delicious! I'm usually not a big fan of beans but I love the beans that came with the dish. Taco filling has lots of meat. Both green and red sauces were great. I also tried the chips and salsa, it tastes good and crunchy. Service: when we first got seated, the staff did not bring us a menu so we were a little confused. They brought us a physical menu after about 5 minutes. We were given a dinner menu but the drinks and the taco plates were not on it. I ended up finding their drink menu on their websites. We found out about the taco plate after my friend asked the staff, and the staff pointed him to a little sign at the counter. I was confused because the menu were all over the place. This did not affect my experience a lot but I think they could do a better job on the menu. The rest of the service was fine. Parking: street parking is not hard to find. Overall I love the decorations and the food, would totally come back!

Yelp
I couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate my birthday. My first time here in Seattle and this place blew my mind. The place was beautifully decorated and was so heart warming, however the star of this place was the food and the staff. We got to try several of their dishes and they were superb. Real authentic Mexican food, not Tex-Mex like others (not that theirs anything bad with that) but as a true Mexican born women, this was so close to home. The staff were amazing and made me feel very welcome. I will definitely will be returning on my next visit. - Dusy

Yelp
Fusion fast food, ambience. I have passed this place couple of times and wouldn't have guessed this place as Mexican based on the ambience We had to utilize Google Photos and the Doordash menu to make sense of the somewhat complicated menu. Ordered a Taco Plate (three tacos plus rice and beans). I didn't enjoy this eatery; perhaps it was a fusion or an attempt to take a new approach from traditional Mexican food. The dish was quite tasteless. The service was pretty good though. The staff was helpful and friendly and very patient in explaining the various alternatives available, including lunch options

Yelp
Holy buckets! This place will transcend your tastebuds. Came in after seeing all the praise. It was 6pm on a Saturday and we got a table right away. The service was amazing from the get-go. Our server, Mac, gave us some really good recs and the run down of the restaurant. Their whole thing is they hand make the tortillas from corn straight from Mexico! We got the Tlacoyos and Enchiladas. Wow the Tlacoyos are like a Mexican samosa made from tortillas! There's a deliciousy layer of cheese on the bottom topped with your fave protein. Enchiladas were the best enchiladas we ever had. Both had a good amount of spice in them. Both dishes around $16 dollars. Lots of Day of the Dead decor and funny tiles to look at. A really solid experience.

Yelp
4.5 stars. Came for Sunday for brunch. Beautiful, southwest themed interior. Staff explained that their specialty is their homemade maiz tortillas, which are excellent and chewy. Asada Chilaquiles Rojos ($24) Huarachitos Divorciadas ($18) Food arrived quickly, and everything was zingy, fresh, and flavorful. Beautiful presentation too. Attentive staff.

Yelp

Yelp
Phenomenal food. Casual vibe. What's not to like? The carne asada was first rate. I can't wait to go again, possibly for brunch. Portions are pretty large so maybe consider sharing a couple of things for variety. Friendly service too.

Yelp
Reservation Success: Snagged a same-day reservation for Friday! Bar Area Seating: Opted for the bar for a more interactive experience; highly recommended for a duo. DRANK Whitexican: A flavorful delight. Margarita: Surprisingly delightful, with freshly squeezed lime juice and quality tequila. FOOD Chile Au Jus Castillo (Short Rib): A must-try with tender short rib, grits reminiscent of queso, beans, and nixtamalized tortillas. Ceviche: Super fresh and multi-dimensional, showcasing the unique process of nixtamalization for an elevated corn and tortilla experience. SWEET Arroz con Leche: An interesting venture, though not a typical dessert taste. CONCLUSION Maiz Molino, a culinary delight with diverse offerings, friendly staff, and an inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended for a flavorful escape.

Yelp
The first time I came here I was with a tour group led by a local sous chef and he said this was one of his favorite places. We'd been starving ourselves before we started the tour and this was the first location, so everything tasted delicious before we rushed out the door to hit the next locale. We returned a couple of days ago to sit down and have a meal without the rush and this time, it was just okay. We got tamales, which is the food we got during the tour and we remembered it being better than it was this time around. We got lucky too because we got the last tamale of the night. We tried the flan and the arroz con leche. The flan was a little too cakey and less creamy. My sister, who had never had arroz con leche, said it was refreshing. The poor guy who served us was working the place all by himself, so even though it was a slow night, he was flustered trying to fire out food while also going to each table to take orders. When a guy is having to work alone, the restaurant should allow him to take orders at the cash register and he should be able to call out table numbers so people can pick up, so he doesn't have to run back and forth between the kitchen and the tables. That's not his fault, so help the guy out, management. He was nice and we made sure to tell him everything we wanted up front so he didn't have to return after he brought out the food. In spite of all of that, we enjoyed the chill, not too busy vibe.

Yelp
Comida Mexicana muy rica, buen precio, servicio excelente, lugar muy agradable, limpio, ubicado muy cerca del Space Needle. Hasta los chips están deliciosos.

Yelp
Went there for lunch with some of my colleagues. We ordered at the counter and were seated immediately. This place is not so popular with the other office crowd surprisingly. Maybe because it's a bit too pricey for a daily office lunch. I got the watermelon agua Fresca (4/5) and tlacoyo with tinga pollo (5/5). My colleagues got the quesadilla (5/5) but it looked more like tacos. Overall I would come here for lunch if it's company sponsored but not on my own. The food is great but pricey!

Yelp
Would you like to try authentic Mexican food? Tadah! This is the place to be. Maíz molino and Maíz (at Pike Place) share the same menu, the same taste, the only difference is that Molino is more spacious and has more tables to accommodate more guests. Molino Maíz is located a couple of blocks away from the Amazon Spheres, so most of the diners are people who work at amazon. Great ambience, Latin music, large tables for large groups. They also serve alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Take a look to the murals and detailed tiles. Nicely done, nicely done! Any item is delicious: gorditas, tamales, chilaquiles. Also esquites (corn) In a cold day try their coffee PS: they do have restrooms here at Molino, whereas Maiz at like Place don't .

Yelp
Service was fantastic and my food was really good. Lots of flavor and good sauce and a great variety of colors and items.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Maiz Molino! I had heard of the Maiz location in Pike Place and had wanted to try the tortillas there. Still need to go there at some point! But, ended up at Maiz Molino because I was drawn to the variety on the menu and more sit-down atmosphere. We were able to snag a reservation same-day for Friday at 5:30 p.m. and were able to choose any seat in the bar area (on the right side when you enter). We chose to sit at the bar so we could watch all the drinks being made and some of the food prep. If you're a group of 2, I definitely recommend this seat! Cassidy was great w/ multitasking -- making drinks, taking our order and answering our many questions. She makes some incredible drinks as well and we enjoyed everything she recommended! We loved the Whitexican drink as well as the margarita (I usually don't like tequila but this drink was sooo good). The secret (apparently) is the freshly squeezed lime juice, and of course quality tequila. As for food, the Chile Au Jus Castillo (short rib) is a must-try item. The short rib was so tender and went really well with the grits (which reminded me of queso in the best way). Plus it's served with beans and their nixtamalized tortillas (which are a must try). The ceviche was super fresh and multi-dimensional. I must admit, I was not super familiar with nixtamalization prior to my visit, but there are not many places that use this process and you can definitely taste the difference in the corn and the overall taste/texture of the tortillas. For dessert we had the flan and the arroz con leche. I wasn't huge on the latter (it didn't really taste like a dessert to me), but it was still worth trying. I look forward to coming back and trying the duck tostada and some of the other menu items! Also, the brunch menu has completely different items so look forward to coming back for that too.

Yelp
This place has nearly 5 stars for a reason! Grandma flavored style home cooked meals. Everything in this place is delicious. The elote risotto is a must have! The kindness and love put into the service and the meals is palpable. Eat everything on the menu. Give them all the business. The corn, tacos, tostadas, margaritas everything was on point. I'm an LA native and felt like I was back home. This place is legit.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast and it was a delight. Cucumber lime agua fresca, huarachitos divorciados, huevos rancheros... all excellent. Can't wait to try the lunch menu AND come back for breakfast

Yelp
My family and I stopped in Maiz Molino yesterday after being turned away from another eatery that didn't have any openings and I must say....what a perfect blessing in disguise... I am born and raised in Los Angeles aka I've grown up eating the best Mexican food you can get without actually being in Mexico.....until Maiz Molino. We walked in and I will say the atmosphere of the restaurant didn't exactly match the food pictures I saw on Yelp so at first I was a little bit apprehensive, but then....we met our server Matt who was so kind and patient walking us through the menu and telling us about their approach to Mexican food. We were there around brunch time, but asked if there was anything else we'd be able to order off the brunch menu and Matt was so awesome and asked the chefs what they had in the back that we could order that wasn't on the brunch menu....I got the chicken tinga that wasn't on the brunch menu and let me tell you...... Maiz Molino served me the BEST chilaquiles I have EVER had....by FAR!! The Sauce?...incredible! Tangy and sweet and just enough heat. The chips? PERFECTLY wet on the outside and still crisp on the inside. The egg? PERFECTLY fried with a runny yolk. The tinga? AMAZING! The chicken fell apart and was smoky and tangy from the sauce. My mother in law got the Pozole.....not surprisingly the best pozole ive ever had also. It was thick and rich with tons of flavor and the meat just melted in your mouth. Everyone elses dishes were incredible and you MUST get the horchata latte. I got it iced and everyone else got it hot. We all loved it. My only issue with this place is there isn't one in Los Angeles and now I have to wait until my next trip to Seattle to have it again which I am very sad about. If you're in the area, go here.

Yelp
Originally from Mexico but have lived overseas for 23 years. My family and I love food and most of our international trips to other countries is to explore other cultures and the gastronomy. Any way, food is an important aspect of our lives. Our experience at Maiz Molino was phenomenal! One of the best authentic Mexican breakfast, great flavors, textures, quality ingredients, service, etc. You will not be disappointed. Just keep in mind portions are big. Shoutout to our server Mac and chef Angelica!

Yelp
Honored to be Maiz's first review for its newest location. Our experience was nothing short of aMAIZing (thanking my doorman for the perfect pun). Drinks: Whitexican - Think espresso martini with mezcal ... yumm Veneno - just refreshing and perfect Food: All of their corn (Maiz) is incredibly tasty (chips, tostadas, tortillas) so be sure to get dishes that come with some sort of Maiz! What I've tried so far (will update accordingly): - Carne asada is unreal and totally a must get ... comes with their perfect tortillas - Duck tostada is a beautifully presented duck, mole, and white sauce served on a cloud (I mean a tostada) - Elote risotto put such a unique spin on Mexican corn. Added this to my carne asada tacos to elevate that dish even more. But it's also delish alone. - Duck chilaquiles (brunch) - omfg these were dope - Tamales (lunch) - moist and perfection. Literally one of my favorites ever. Decor: It's absolutely gorgeous inside. Colorful, fun, and just an overall welcoming place. Everything from the walls, to plant pots, to plates, and signage are all vibrant and joyous. Service: You will likely come in here having a lot of questions. Everyone was so sweet and ready to help help describe everything to guide in your critical decision making process. While I was lucky to get in on the soft opening, I have multiple other reservations booked that I will be utilized to work my way through that menu! Thanks again Maiz team.

Yelp
Food I ordered the ceviche tostada (Fresh sashimi grade tuna, heirloom corn tostada, chipotle mayo, sesame seeds, nori algae). I give this 5/5. This was a large portion for one so I recommend going with a group to share. At $18 for one dish and the entrees at $28+, I do think that this joint is priced very highly. Inflation and economy is definitely tough so if you you aren't conscious about where your extra dollar goes, this would be the best place to go. I do think that they probably treat their employees really well due to the price point so this might be attractive to people who work nearby and make the big bucks. Personally, I think it's too pricey for my liking. Service This place gets packed so make reservations. The waiter came in and was friendly. Service was decent. Ambience Casual and can get pretty loud with groups.

Yaminee P.

Yelp
I've seen Maiz at Pike Place Market but I haven't stopped in before. I noticed another one opened up in SLU and I had to go in! Food: I got veggie tacos and they were BOMB! Tbh $18 for tacos is a little out of reach of me in this economy but dang these were so good. Bell peppers, mushroom, onion, and chickpeas. Also the salsa slaps. Ambiance: The place was really quiet during lunch, but I think it's because people don't know it's here yet. HIGHLY recommend going now. The interior is beautiful and bright. There is a decent amount to seating as well so you could bring a good party. Service: fast, nice, friendly. The folks at Maiz were great. They also have self serve water so you'll never get dehydrated. Overall - should I be spending $18 on tacos? Probably not. But will I buy these again? 100%.

James S.

Yelp
Maiz offers some incredible, unique dishes that stand out in the Seattle area. I've visited nearly two dozen times, but recently, the service has significantly declined. Communication can be challenging as some staff members struggle with English, and interactions range from unclear to occasionally rude. The owner, who once was a regular presence, now seems focused on other locations. Additionally, the restaurant's nonstandard hours make planning a visit more difficult. Sadly, the overall experience no longer matches the quality of the food, which is disappointing considering the amount of money I've spent there over time. Strongly suggest avoiding until these issues are resolved, particularly at the price point.

Yelp
Overall great Mexican restaurant with authentic details in all of the inside. Very very impressive hand painted tiles, food was good and cashier was very nice. I would definitely go again.
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
Sad to have to say the overall experience was not up to par. Fully support family restaurants and hope this is helpful to them. Very nice people but not enough of them. Long gaps between engagements and hard to get attention. Chips needed salt and the guacamole needed heat. Drinks were too sweet and tasted artificial. Food was good and well presented. Good flavors but each dish lacked something and sides were small. Must note their Tortillas were excellent. After we were done it took 40 minutes until we finally paid and left without the dessert we ordered as it never came and we grew tired of sitting on hard chairs with our plates still on the table in front of us. Wish them luck and hope they find value in the feeeback.

Yelp
Delicious huevos rancheros and a Mexican mocha for the Sunday brunch, It was pricey but all the ingredients seemed homemade and the atmosphere was cheery. $32 including tip. A spoon would have been nice or some chips to soak up the delicious salsa.
google avatar

Rach C.

Yelp
Chips and Guac were ok, but I had the carne asada which was so good. Service was great and it was a cute little restaurant. I enjoyed my meal but wished there were more tortillas and tomatoes/onions for the whole thing

Anthony H.

Yelp
I am not a local I am visiting from North Carolina, but while I was walking around I came across this Mexican restaurant. I was curious if they sold individual tacos and they do!! The tacos were so freaking good I got a chingy taco and a ranchero taco. It was so good I might go back again before my trip ends!!

Yelp
Very underwhelming food given the reviews to date for this place. Going in I had some high expectations. The ratings are great, the menu clearly was not run-of-the-mill Mexican American offerings, and the interior looked pretty fun and inventive. I'm a native Los Angelino who has been living in Seattle off and on since 2009, and in general things have improved substantially for Mexican eats in the PNW over time so every time a new Mexican place opens up that people make note of I always take time to visit. Upon entry, I started to have a bit of a concern. I have this food law that goes something like this: the more a restaurant explains their process around their food, the more underwhelming it's likely to be. Most fine dining and awesome eats places just let the food do the talking for itself. The nice people at Maiz explained to me twice about their emphasis on corn, how they source the corn, and clearly it was important because the corns were displayed tastefully near the bar. Hmmmm.... Sadly my skepticism was confirmed when the main entrees were received. Naturally I had to try the Carne Asada and sadly while it was cooked well, it was nearly absent of flavor. I seriously could not taste any seasoning or marination whatsoever. Worse off was the short rib dish which not only had a similar absence of flavor but also was about the toughest serving of short rib I've ever had in my life; short rib is supposed to fall off the bone not compliment the bone for added mass for striking an assailant with it. Honestly I was pretty shocked by how bland the food was and it teleported me way back to that first year of 2009 in Seattle where the locals seemingly had never heard of a chile before and insisted on finishing entrees with cole slaw. Bummer. Maybe it was an off night. Everything else was quite nice: the service, the space, the location - it was just too bad about the food. If you're looking for something less Mexican American and more regional to Mexico I'd say visit the venerable La Carta de Oaxaca in Ballard instead for now.

Yelp
We just moved here and have been waiting for a restaurant this amazing!!! We sat at the bar and watched our server prepared our food FRESH. What an incredible experience as Israel and his manager lead us down a path of sure taste and authentic tasting food. Describing the food and where the dishes originated from in Mexico, Israel and the wonderful team definitely treated us as family while we enjoyed the menu. Not to mention, all gluten free corn tortillas made in house and fresh to order! 11/10.

Yelp
Hands down the best enchiladas I've ever had! I'll be returning here next time I'm in Seattle!

Yelp
Came in for lunch and had an amazing meal with great hospitality from our server! Would definitely recommend for a quick lunch or sit down dinner!

Yelp
Horrible service, never got a water refill or anyone checking on us. Guac chips and salsa were unsalted and tasteless. Margaritas and entrees were good - but the service really ruined the meal for us

Yelp
Food was delicious. Think of this place as a quick place to eat (diner like) but enough on their menu to satisfy big eaters. Service was quick and easy to order. I like that parking was easier than parking next to Pike Place as this was in BelTown. LOS CHILAQUILES 15 House made chips, smothered in tasty salsa roja, topped with sour cream, queso cot ja dvocddo, cilantro and your favorite quiso (meat). Hubby got carnitas. It was the best stew. I don't like soups with chips in it but this was amazing. Very much like a cafe, not fine dining. The beans were Smokey and tasty. I'd get it the taco plate again.

Yelp
Amazing, fantastic, great, there aren't enough superlatives available to describe tonight's dinner at Maiz Molino. I don't have any "instagram worthy" photos, whatever that means, to post because I was too busy enjoying the food! Every dish was delicious, including the tortilla chips. Home made, with soul, the food at Maiz Molino surpasses anything offered in the city of Seattle. Hey, we were in Ciudad de Mexico in May, CDMX to you trendoids, and Maiz Molino rivaled the food we ate in the capital. No, it isn't Michelin quality dining in the Pujols or Quintonil manner, but for down home cooking, Maiz Molino rivals anything I ate in Mexico, and it is the best Mexican restaurant in Seattle Matt was our server, and he was as gracious as when I met him at Maiz at the market. His suggestions were right on, and our cocktails were strong and tasty. If you crave authentic food from Mexico, made with fresh ingredients with a touch of soul, Maiz Molino is waiting for you.

Yelp
Mexican food? Yes - but with all the flavors that have been strained out of Tex-Mex. Suddenly all the brilliant colors of the Dia des Muertos makes sense. This food includes all the flavors of the spices, the herbs, the long cooking & the splashes of fresh flavors added at the end. Oh. And then the TORTILLAS! These are the real deal made with in house masa. They taste of CORN. And add a whole extra layer to everything. So slide up, enjoy a Jarritos, or a smoky cocktail and soak up all the flavor.

Yelp
What a great new spot. We love it and are grateful that is just downstairs from our place. We tried the avacado tostado and it was delicious. Washed it down with a tall glass of michelada. Yum yum.

Yelp
Maíz molino on 6th street is quickly becoming not only my favorite Mexican restaurant but one of my overall favorite restaurants. Everything about this place is amazing! The staff, the drinks, the service, the food, the hot sauces, the ambiance is all top notch. The nixtamalization process on all their corn is done by them and wow can you tell the difference between these tortillas and store bought. The shrimp gordita is a perfect dish. The corn tortilla is beautifully chewy and yet tender with wonderful color, the beans are smooth and flavorful, the shrimp are perfectly cooked and seasoned, the pickled red onion gives the perfect tang and the cheese on top just adds a level of richness that is heavenly. Top that all off with a house made salsa that is made with three different types of peppers. The staff here is just amazing. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a warm smile and a quick hello! Angie, the owner, is so incredibly accommodating and visible. She seems to be involved in every aspect of the business here which, I personally love to see. Overall, I plan on going back to maíz over and over again. Anything you order here is going to be delicious- food and drinks. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Yelp
FOOD IS AMAZING! SERVICE IS EXCELLENT! Great spot to have some authentic Mexican food The Maiz have that home made flavor, not dry nor plain flavor, it has that rich, sweet flavor! The Sopes are so delicious and unique and it has that traditional taste! It sucks that Yelp don't put this spot in when searching the Mexican restaurants. This is a must have if searching a Mexican dish.

Yelp
The restaurant is very nicely decorated and inviting! If going on a weekend I definitely recommend having a reservation. I came on a Friday night and and had to wait 30-45 min without a reservation. Service was great and quick. The menu was pretty expensive so I only ordered a taco de lengua (yes literally one taco for $12?!). It tasted good but the tortilla was soggy and fell apart first bite. Everything I saw them bring looked delicious but it's a bit too expensive for me

Yelp
Amazing spot! They hooked me up on my trip up and catered to what I wanted. Love the service and flavors of this place. First time here and I'll be back!
