Best Middle Eastern Food in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Mandolin Kitchen in Sandy Springs opened in late-2017 and has already become a popular spot for home-style Turkish fare. It even made Eater Atlanta’s restaurant heatmap a few months in a row. Standouts on the menu here include the chicken avgolemono soup (Greek egg-lemon soup), ezme (appetizer featuring chopped tomatoes, red onions, red peppers, chili peppers, garlic, walnut, and olive oil) and lahmacun or or lahmajoun—the Turkish equivalent of pizza." - Sarra Sedghi

A Turkish‑leaning Mediterranean dining room known for lahmacun, iskender kebap, and late‑night hours. Reviewed by the AJC and noted by Eater Atlanta, it’s a lively spot for meze spreads, strong Turkish tea, and weekend DJ sets.

Mandolin Kitchen – A Late-Night Gem I stopped in for a late dinner at Mandolin Kitchen, and it turned out to be an absolute delight from start to finish. I began with their new roasted red pepper labneh, a creamy, tangy dip reminiscent of hummus but with a deeper, roasted flavor. It was served with freshly baked warm bread that complemented it beautifully—comforting and full of flavor. For the main course, I ordered the Lavraki (Mediterranean sea bass), and it was nothing short of perfection—tender, flaky, and delicately seasoned to bring out the fish’s natural sweetness. It was accompanied by a generous side of roasted Brussels sprouts, a crisp salad, and tender baby asparagus. The salad leaned a bit heavy on the dressing, but everything else was spot on—fresh, balanced, and vibrant. To end the meal, I enjoyed a cup of authentic Turkish coffee, rich and aromatic with that signature hint of spice and sweetness. It was the perfect finale to a wonderful meal. The restaurant also offers valet parking, though I opted out—it felt a bit unnecessary given the easy street parking nearby. Overall, Mandolin Kitchen delivered an outstanding dining experience: refined yet relaxed, flavorful yet balanced. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their Mediterranean dishes.

Cem was the best bartender and host while giving a great recommendation for the octopus and hookah. The drinks were also PHENOMENAL! 1000% coming back for friends and couples date night!

We had girl’s night recently and it was a complete vibe. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was laid back and relaxing. We had shrimp, tzatziki, ceaser salad, steak kabobs, lamb chops, salmon and a fruit board. Left feeling stuffed & satisfied.

The place was ok. Nothing fancy. There is valet. Not sure about self serve parking. I made a reservation but there was no one there really around the time I went 630ish on a Saturday. The waitress was nice and all but not as attentive as one could be and doesn’t give the personality of an individual that’s around people. We had to ask for every refill, no napkins, etc. And the personality portion was just blah…take your order…here’s your food…bring the check. It’s not like you went above and beyond to be an establishments that does automatic gratuity, and that may be why. The food was ‘meh’. The hummus had somewhat of an aftertaste unless it was the pita. Wasn’t a fan. The rice was very bland and the chicken just okay. Tasted more of the char than seasoning or marinade. We both had kabobs and ended up with upset tummy’s later when we left. The sodas were flat. We did have a hookah. It was decent. No coals were moved or changed. Don’t know if there is a fee here for adding coals. We left shortly after receiving the food bc it was not that enjoyable. Others per reviews have had better times. Not sure if I’d be back. I’m a stickler for service and the only person who was super courteous was the valet guy.

Amazing Mediterranean spot with the perfect vibe. The atmosphere is stylish and lively, and the DJ does a great job setting the mood without it feeling overwhelming. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented everything tasted authentic and well seasoned. The hookah was smooth, long-lasting, and paired perfectly with the overall experience. Service was friendly and attentive, making it a great place for date night, a night out with friends, or just a relaxed evening with good food, music, and vibes. Definitely a place worth coming back to.

Ambiance is nice, service is good and the food I had was decent. I had the Seabass, fish was perfectly grilled but could have used a bit more seasoning. I tasted my friend's Lamb chops and it was delicious. Parking is not convenient, except you use their valet service.

We came here for hookah and drinks so can't Speak on the food. Had a reservation, parking is valet for $10 or you can find parking down the street for free. Didn't wait long to be seated. Sat in the patio area where the DJ was, he played some good music! Service was just ok. Ordered a lychee Martini $15, and it was ok, came in a small glass. Not worth the price. Hookah was good, we had the mint flavor. Gratuity was already included on the bill, which explains the lack of service. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but I probably won't be back.

Excellent location and decor / ambience inside - large windows to sit by and watch and enjoy company! Food Oyster and Sea bass were delicious. Service was somewhat lacking towards the end but good overall experience !
