"Manuscript & Dialogue is all things to all people: a sexy date-night bistro, an elevated pizzeria, a craft cocktail lounge, a beautiful brunch spot, an EDM nightclub, and occasionally a yoga studio. The enormous space has room for it all and polymorphs among its its different identities throughout the clock. By day, it’s local oysters, peach cider-glazed pork belly, bucatini all’amatriciana, and Roman-style pizza al taglio — by former Bar Rosa chef Brandon Barrios — in the front half (“Manuscript”), while the DJs set up shop in the back half (“Dialogue”) on Saturday nights. There’s a sunny little patio and brunch all day on Sundays; they don’t even do dinner service that day, only brunch. Get the banana bread pudding." - Meg van Huygen, Sue Kidd

Brunch was excellent, we had the eggs in purgatory and the chilaquiles, both were delicious. It’s also such a small thing but I need to whoever they get their coffee from it was so good. Service was attentive and friendly. Ambiance was trendy and eclectic. Price for the meal was perfectly reasonable too. Will definitely be back!

I love the vibe of this place. The decor and atmosphere is on point. I love the old typewriters and French music. I admit, I expected the menu to be a little more interesting. And I missed having the option of a paper menu. But the Rueben my hubs ordered was delicious. I want to go back for brunch.

Stopped here for dinner before a concert and had an amazing experience. Food and drinks were excellent and the service was fantastic! That street corn pasta may just be the best side dish I’ve ever had! I will definitely be back!

The food is hit or miss. Asked the waitress what was good and she recommended the The ranchero and described it as “huevos rancheros” like the Mexican dish. But it was just a quesadilla. The banana bread pudding was also very dry, nothing pudding about it. Slightly disappointed. I would give it another chance because the service was friendly and the restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere.

We came here when this place was just a brewery and pizza joint! Then I heard that a new restaurant opened up in Tacoma and wanted to try it out. Did not realize it happened to be the same location. For starters, love the decor and vibe that the restaurant encompasses -more of a refined Italian pizza/pasta venue. It was not busy at all, there were only about three other tables besides ours. Ordered their Pomegranate Temple which was good and strong. Only needed the one drink the entire time we were there. Appetizer of choice to try? Truffle Fries. They were not my favorite but I enjoyed them as the thickness and crunchiness was to my liking, only. Personally, they were just heavily drenched in chopped raw garlic that threw off the overall flavor of truffle. I was only able to tolerate a couple bites. Star of the show for me: the Bucantini Pomodoro with Salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and flaky/juicy center. It meshed wonderfully with the robust flavor of the sauce and texture of the pasta. The pasta was so fresh and also perfectly cooked. I would come back just for this dish alone. Service was good too, for the most part. Greeted, seated, given a few minutes to review menu and placed order for drinks/app. The waitress that helped us was welcoming and attentive overall but wished she would have checked in a little bit sooner, before we were left waiting to place our entree orders. The others at the table practically finished the fries before she managed to return to our table and ask what we wanted. Nonetheless, it was a good experience.

If you're wondering where to go for a cool brunch, look no further. We went to Manuscript for Sunday brunch, and I am still thinking about it on Thursday! The staff was quick and polite, and the food was excellent. The place has a cool vibe, the type of place you want to catch up with an old friend over a beverage and some crispy pork belly.....which is amazing because every table looked like they were having a beverage and amazing breakfast! We had a breakfast sandwich, the pork belly hash, and a GIANT Lemon grab Baby (which is just like a Dutch baby only with lemon curd and huckleberry jam). There wasn't a scrap of food left over. Everything was so amazingly tasty that we all left fully and happy. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu. It is a great place to go in Tacoma!

Google
Great atmosphere and excellent service here. I messed up my reservation which is highly suggested and they still gave me a table. The food was out quickly after ordering and it was delicious. The banana bread dessert was amazing and overall it was an excellent outing.

Google
I forgot to add pictures of more of the food but this food was great and the service was top notch! Small and quaint with Italian fusion food and you can tell the chef did a lot of work when studying Italian cuisine with the fresh pasta. NA drinks were not boring or just juice flavors. 100% would recommend to anyone. Spent my birthday here and had a wonderful evening.

Yelp
This seems to be a great place if you have a mixed dietary restriction group. A lot of menu items seemed flexible for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. As far as I can tell, this place is just called Manuscript now. I came in and settled at the bar. There were a few different spaces available for guests dining and the bar had easily 10 to 12 seats. There were more facing away from the bar too. There was electronic music playing. I had a very flavorful pasta rustico which was a basil pesto and fennel sausage pasta dish. They in house made cavatappi was perfectly tender. The cocktail menu is seasonal so it rotates. Some of the ingredients are house made so I wouldn't expect to be able to have them again throughout the year. Of course it's a full bar so you can order the usual cocktail drinks. The brussel sprouts, mushroom and goat cheese was a delicious start. I'd go back again to try out more menu items.

Yelp
Manuscript & Dialogue opened up in the spot where Odin Brewing once was. So glad to see this spot being used again and an excellent place as well! Manuscript & Dialogue is a restaurant and cocktail bar is what they emphasize towards. The food menu has a great variety of dishes, including pizza. Steve and I were both drawn in by the Cold Mexican Street Corn Pasta. It did not disappoint and was delicious! In this pasta dish therr is penne, corn, cilantro, red onion, cotija, cherry tomatoes, cilantro-lime aioli and tajin. It was so good! The cocktails were very good and I don't see how you can go wrong with any of those drink options (same with the food). Desserts are stellar also. The Banana Bread Pudding was fabulous! I don't have anything negative about our experience here and I would love to make a return trip back!

Yelp
I came there at a prime time before 7 PM the food was not that good they're trying to act like they're a fancy place, but it looks like they taught themselves how to cook Pork belly was tough salmon dip came with stale bread. Pizza was old and cold Anybody who writes a better review than one star doesn't know anything about good service and good food. If they are low on staff why are employees standing around not helping ? the worst thing on top of all the crappy food was demanding more than a 15% tip they want you to pay 22% or more for crappy service and crappy food this place will be a good coffee joint I do not recommend it as a restaurant' or anything the pre Olive Garden cooks make. Oh and people notice when you change good vodka to crappy vodka wtf

Yelp
As soon as we walked in the host was really nice, and started us off with coffee right away. The food was good but we weren't a huge fan of the brunch menu. The reason why I give this three stars is because there wasn't anything on the menu that stood out and after we got our food, the service was a bit slower even though there weren't many guests. We were going to order a second drink but didn't get the chance because no one came back around to check on us. We went during their Vinyl brunch which is a great concept! We enjoyed the vibes of the brunch and hope to try this place again at dinner!

Yelp
Very chill cool vibe. Dark lighting. DJ in house even for brunch. Bartender was friendly and answered any of our questions. Food was cooked from scratch. Interesting mix of Mexican and Italian. Very good spicy Bloody Mary. We want to come back for dinner.

Yelp
Went last night for dinner. I immediately loved the vibe of restaurant. It is warm, fun, beautifully decorated and vibrant. The food was also excellent; however, the service was absolutely terrible. I actually can't even recall the last time I've had service so poor. We waited and waited for drinks, waited forever to order, our bills were incorrect, no one checked in in between any delivery. If staffing issue, transparency goes a long way to let your customers now you're running skim but don't want them to feel ignored. That said, I truly have no idea where this all fell apart. Our waitress acted like she'd rather be anywhere else than where she was. She was the opposite of friendly. I don't think I'll go back. Unfortunately, that experience was off putting.

Yelp
Love the energy here, it is very classy and has a great menu. I went during the day, but haven't experienced their nights or weekends though they have some great deals those days as well. They also have some outdoor seating and the staff was very nice and attentive. I went on a day where it was half off pizza and got their speciality for the day along with a side salad which I couldn't beat for $6. The drinks are typically around $15. I got the manifest rocks & creamy which was great! It was a perfect spiked espresso latte, very subtle with the alcohol, but still there and a good flavor to the espresso.

Yelp
Stopped for Friday reservations when the daughter was in town. We were greeted enthusiastically and seated quickly. Our server arrived promptly for drink orders and was able to provide some recommended starters. The place is very fun looking and hopping. So, we started with some yummy drinks and the burrata with hot honey. The dish was very tasty! The toast was perfect, the burrata appropriately creamy and the hot honey was fun. For dinner we settled on the pasta rustico, the drunken piggy, and the bucatini all'amatrician. We stopped by the small night market and checked out the vendors while waiting for our mains to arrive. We were a little surprised when the pasta rustico arrived by itself and that our mains couldn't come out together. It was odd that our server stopped by to ask if we "...were still doing ok?" when we only had one of three mains. BTW, looking around it seems that the pasta rustico tended to come out early at every table - so more of a kitchen thing than a service issue. The rest of the mains arrived in short order and we tucked in. All of the pasta was fantastic. The pork belly was perfect. All three dishes were very good and I would recommend any of them. The dishes were a great size to squeeze in appetizers and dessert. So, of course, we ordered dessert. I tried the fried banana bread pudding and the girls split an olive oil cake. The bread pudding was great. The olive oil cake was a little dry but the jam was great. I really recommend Manuscript for a good meal in Tacoma.

Yelp
Saturday secret find! Enjoyed a phenomenal pork belly hash with a perfectly blended cold brew martini at Manuscript. Our server, Jana was a joy and a credit to her craft. The decor is clever, comfortable and fun! Can't wait to go back for dinner and check out their wood fired pizza and scratch pasta. So glad Tacoma is finally offering more boutique, chef owned restaurants, especially ones that are woman owned!

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! Great vibes and awesome food! My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of being served by T! She's super sweet and knowledgeable of the menu. She made our experience unforgettable. This restaurant turns into a club at 10pm on the weekends but I highly recommend coming for the yummy food. We ordered the Mexican street corn fritters, dippin dough and the burger! We finished off with the Tiramisu!! 10/10! We will be back!! Thank you T!

Yelp
We made this reservation for my birthday and were looking forward to a tasty meal. The interior looked intriguing. Sort of a moody, hipster industrial vibe. Interesting art on the walls and huge comfy black tufted leatherette seating. My husband ordered the Green Goddess Little Gems salad. His salad was tasty, unfortunately the Little Gems weren't little, they were big and tough. I found the Cesare salad bland though croutons were good. He ordered the Straccoto which needed more time braising. It wasn't served with squash as the menu stated but a roasted carrot. The suggested wine pairing was good. I opted for the Roman style pizza slice. While the crust was lovely, overall it lacked flavor. For dessert we ordered Tiramisu. I was expecting a luscious, melt in your mouth taste sensation to share. Instead we received a teeny tiny jar with two tiny spoons. It had a 2 layers of soggy coffee laden cake and 2 layers of thick greasy (maybe) mascarpone. The taste was okay but presentation and textures were unappealing. Service was underwhelming and waitperson defensive and impolite. If you are going there for booze then this may be your spot as the staff pushes drinks every time they come to the table. Also worth mentioning...When the female server gave my husband the credit card machine, the 25% option was already selected. No bueno! We are open to interpretation and enjoy creativity when it comes to food but it must taste good! The menu reads well but doesn't deliver. Also, it is way overpriced for the offering. Yes, we are from San Francisco and yes, we are spoiled. Both of us know what good food is and unfortunately, Manuscript is not there yet. Perhaps a rewrite.

Yelp
I enjoyed an excellent dinner with friends here last night. What a great experience. The space is somewhat industrial with unique art pieces throughout (mine might be Walter White "Let's Cook" above the kitchen or the "Tacoma" twist on a Marlboro box near the bar), an open kitchen, and a beautiful bar. There were a few other nice touches, like the acknowledgments at the end of the menu and the notes indicating which menu items could be modified to be gluten free or dairy free. Most importantly, the food was amazing. You know the kind of meal where, the next day, you find yourself thinking about it and searching online to see if you can replicate it at home? It was that kind of meal. Here's everything I tried, sharing among friends: the Weekly Market vegetable, a big plate of asparagus caramelized with onions and goat cheese; the fried spring onions with garlic aioli, the classic smash burger with fries, and the drunk piggy (glazed pork belly with potato and shitake mushrooms.) Our friends got pizzas, and, although I didn't try them, they said they were good. Even the meals at the tables next to us were enviable! Everything I tried was delicious and the portions were plentiful. I worry that I'll never get to enjoy that asparagus special again, and I'll be chasing the memory of that dish forever! Our server was efficient if not friendly, and the hostess who came by to check on us and refill our water made up for it with her kindness. My food took the longest, which isn't the server's fault, but our server came by two times to ask "How's everything tasting?" when I didn't have my entree yet and everyone else did, without mentioning my food. I never saw the breakdown of the bill although she did offer the other couple a receipt. I'm proud to be a generous tipper but when she held the credit card machine in front of me (but didn't hand it to me) the 25% option was already selected. I look forward to returning to try the rest of the dinner menu, and, even better, the extensive brunch menu!

Yelp
I see a bunch of haters in the comments out here talkin about poor service and bad food, but I do not know why. Popped in to grab some grib on our way back to the crib and my god.....manuscript doesn't disappoint. Prices AINT that bad either and it was all good yall. Stay trill manuscript. 5 stars.

Karen J.

Yelp
Loving everything about this spot. Ambiance, cuisine, community. When I had a few minutes to breathe and eat after setting up my spot at Dialogue Market, I chose the Eda-Bim Bap sandwich and the Dee'z Herbs mocktail. The sunnyside-up egg atop pork belly, jalapeno coleslaw and sriracha aioli was perfection for my heat-loving palate, and my mocktail could fool and convert the biggest fan of traditional cocktails. Beyond the food, the space has never-ending alternatives for entertainment, from artist pop-ups to DJ nights. Make time for a special trip to Tacoma to experience this space plus all the other hidden treasures in this city.

Yelp
Im in the Stadium District almost daily, and somehow I did not know Manuscript existed! A few of us had dinner here tonight after hearing by word of mouth how great the food is. We were not disappointed!! The building itself is pretty deceiving, I expected a small restaurant- but this place is big. Really cool, artsy vibe! I ordered a smash burger with their homemade French fries- soooo good!! They have a variety of homemade sauces, I tried the ranch- amazing! Service was great as well- very attentive! I loved it so much, I booked Sunday brunch for my family! Highly recommend.

Abby H.

Yelp
When you walk in the ambiance and decor is pretty modern and sleek. Hostess was super nice and we got seated right away. Our service was subpar. We were seated for a while before she came to get drinks. Wasn't very friendly, and was just strictly "what would you want". We wanted to try the fried onions, but they were out. But we ordered the pepperoni pizza which is just pizza toppings on top of bread, so wouldn't order that again. But the smash burger and pork belly entrees were great! Few kinks to work out, but we'll give it another shot soon :)

Thomas I.

Yelp
I tried brunch at Manuscript for the first time today. They created a fantastic environment for the weekend brunch. The space has lots of natural light. I hope they open up the big garage doors when it gets warm out! The table service was attentive and friendly. To drink I got their take on a boilermaker- cold brew and a shot of fernet. It was a perfect pairing with the conchas (which come with a delicious pair of dips: warm chocolate and strawberry jam). I loved the measured complexity of the chilaquiles. Several incredible flavors (particularly the salsa roja-tossed house fried tortillas) work together to make a special dish. I will be back to try more from chef Jeneva's brunch menu!

Mattea D.

Yelp
Visited on Saturday with toddler. We made a reservation but there were plenty of tables available at open. That said, it was nice to have a table set with a high chair ready to go. Got the brunchwich (with side winter citrus salad) and hash, a side of sausage and a side of banana bread pudding. Friend also got a small lemon drop pancake to go. Service was decent, the restaurant was a bit loud for 9am but at least my toddler could wander and play and I didn't worry about disturbing others. Food was great! I will definitely come back. The salad was worth the up charge. Toddler mostly ate snacks but I thought the menu was ok for sharing with a kid, if they're not feeling picky. I liked the brunchwich but will try something else next time. The hit for me was the small banana bread pudding we tried! I think we were in n out in a little over an hour- it was a nice treat for Saturday morning.

Paul R.

Yelp
Manuscript and Dialogue exceeded all expectations. The food was exceptional, boasting a tantalizing array of flavors. The service was impeccable, complemented by a diverse drink selection. A must-visit for a memorable dining experience.

Melissa B.

Yelp
What a delightful surprise! The vibes are calm, cool and hip. This place for brunch is on point, we ordered the Large Lemoncamp pancake and Pork Belly Hash and it was enough food for an army. The only caveat, and maybe because they are newer, our breakfast did take a while to get. The pancake takes quite a while to cook so order first to share! The drinks were fantastic as well, especially the Strawberry Sangria! The Manifest Latte style is like dessert in a tiki glass!!! Yummy!!!

Mama M.

Yelp
Not too bad! Not quite sure what I was expecting, but the service was good. Food was great too. Fun spot to eat.

Logan S.

Yelp
We tried the whole menu for dinner. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the Roman Style Margherita slice. *Perfect crunch*. Seemed a little understaffed, but the chef did make a table side appearance. Would definitely return!

Melinda P.

Yelp
I was sooooo excited to try this place out. Upon walking in, it was so beautiful. They had some people at the bar, a couple two tops, and a 6 top. They all had their food so we didn't think it was too busy. We were not acknowledged for the first 20min. I asked the bartender where the restroom was and let him know we had 4ppl. He told me where the bathroom was, but didn't respond about our table. I came back after restroom & waitress kept making eye contact with us and walked past us, but still no acknowledgment. There was a guy in the bar who I thought was a customer, that kept making eye contact with us & server. Seemed as if even he was wondering when she was going to acknowledge us. I didn't know he worked there until he came and greeted us and sat us at a table. Another 15min at the table & still not acknowledged once while waitress talked to everyone around us & locked eyes with us a couple times. Finally she came and took our order, no apology, no greeting, just "What can I get you?" One person in our party got a salad with no croutons, croutons were on there. She said she didn't hear her say no croutons- but we all did. We all looked at the plate as soon as she set it down. I ordered the pasta salad and was missing cilantro and corn. I asked if they did not have those ingredients on the pasta salad like the description says on menu and she said, "If it says it in the menu, it does.. but if he didn't put it on there it means we don't have it." She did come back a few min later with a small bowl of corn and some dressing. She said they don't use fresh cilantro there, but they use a sauce with cilantro in it. However, I looked again and description on menu has both listed on there. They even have cilantro listed for the tacos as well that my friend ordered last time she was there and had asked for NO cilantro and it was on there. So unsure how accurate that is.

Yelp
We have previously been here for brunch which is very good. We came back to try the dinner, I had one of the the bucatini pomodoro and added bacon while my husband got the pasta rústico and added salmon. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes and ate every bite. We also got a dessert, the virgin berries cake, because they sold out of the banana bread pudding. The cake was very dry, a little disappointing. I have had the banana pudding during brunch and it is sooo good! The service is good, I still believe they could use another server on busy nights. The sitting are is quite small for how big the restaurant is, it feels like all the tables are super close together and you kind of sit on top of other tables. I wish they would open up some tables in the back of the restaurant to offer more seating and space from table to table. I don't believe this should take away any stars due to the food being very good, along with the drinks! I had the botanical tiempo, it reminded me of a light refreshing spring/summer day drink with great taste. My husband had a regular house margarita. Overall, I would go again to try other dishes as they change their menu fairly often and add new things to it.

Malia S.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was not good only 3 tables and took forever to take our order. Ambience was very cool.

Matt G.

Yelp
Pasta Rustico was rich and delicious. The soft lighting, artwork and music created a nice ambience.

Tina T.

Yelp
This a new gem in the crown of Tacoma restaurants and you should go right now before it gets too crowded! Thanks to a bit of insider information (thanks Ruben and Alicia Melendez) we were among early diners to enjoy the brunch at the new manuscript & dialogue in the Stadium District. It occupies the space that used to be the Hub and the cool vibe of the stripped down industrial interior is awesome. The upholstered booths and colorful art add some swank and comfort. We had fantastic food and great coffee. I loved the Winter Squash Scramble! It featured at least three types of squash (acorn, butternut and delicate), crumbles of super spicy and zesty fennel sausage and topped by a perfect sunny egg. The maple syrup, cilantro and chilies added a fresh, sweet, hot flavor that needed nothing added to make my mouth sing and leave a nice after burn. My partner enjoyed his classic breakfast with over easy eggs, perfectly seasoned taters, and legit sourdough and more of that fabulous sausage. He let me have a bite of his toast and it was perfectly buttery. He can always be counted on to order the basic breakfast which is always a great barometer about the rest of the menu. I can't wait to go back to try more of the creative and gorgeous dishes we saw traveling to other tables. Also the creative and beautiful cocktails going on around us were visually appealing and the other diners where making 'yummy' noises about them! We just weren't in the mood but... next time... Go now while you can still get a seat!

Yelp
We tried manuscript for Sunday brunch. We had a 10:45 reservation and had no issues being seated. Based on the amount of people seated, that time would have been fine for walk in, but by the time we left the place was completely full. I would love to start with the good: The food was great. I had the Open Face Break Beets. The golden beets were tasty with delicious chive goat cheese and nice pickled carrots. It came with fingerling potatoes that were overall pretty good with a nice coating of coarse salt. My partner had the Eggs in Purgatorio. The flavors were really good with high quality sourdough. He did end up ordering an additional side of bread as he prefers more bread with a shakshouka type dish, but that's just up to personal preference. The portions of both dishes were perfect, around two bites more than I could eat in one sitting. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions of the food. What could use improvement: The restaurant was incredibly loud. There was music playing in the restaurant, but that was not the issue. There is zero sound dampening in the dining area and the noise level from all the surrounding table's conversations made it so that we could barely hear each other talking at a regular conversational level. It was pretty overstimulating at times. There seemed to be only two servers and a bartender while we were dining. This resulted in the service being pretty slow (although both servers were very nice and apologetic). It took around 45 minutes from the time we were seated to receive our food. The restaurant was also very cold. We were seated by the large rolling door and the temperature in that area was super uncomfortable. We had to leave our jackets on throughout brunch and were still pretty chilly. This wasn't aided by the fact that the only warm drink they serve is coffee, no hot tea or other beverages. Lastly, I'm not a fan of the plates. I know that may seem like a nitpicky issue, but the plate was so lightweight that my partner had to hold it while I cut my dish up, otherwise it was twisting and sliding all over we the table. Not a deal breaker, but something that could use improvement. Overall, I think the place has a lot of promise and we will try it again in a few months when staffing kinks have been worked out and the weather is warmer.

Yelp
I came here for brunch on a Saturday. They recommend making reservations which we did but there would have been plenty of tables available for walk ins too. I loved their menu and the food was great . We ordered the breakfast hash, banana bread pudding and the brunchwich. The meals were all delicious, I liked that they came with a small salad which I love at brunch. The portions are also appropriately sized which is nice in comparison to some places that try to serve you a 2600 calorie meal for breakfast. The things I didn't like as much was the atmosphere of the restaurant. This is 100% just my preference and I'm sure there are plenty of people who would disagree with me. Generally the vibe is like a club, they had a kind of lounge techno playing. It was not excessively loud but louder than I want in the morning. I found it to be a bit too club like for my taste in a brunch spot. But to be clear it's not enough of an issue that I wouldn't come back. The excellent food and the reasonable prices more than make up for any minor issues I have with ambiance. In summary, the food is good and the price point is reasonable. I would recommend for brunch.

Yelp
My friend and I recently visited Manuscript and cannot say enough fabulous things about our experience! The food, from our salad to the dessert, each was carefully prepared with flavor busting out all over!! For my leftover I took home pork belly on Cole slaw, a mixed spring salad with pears, pomegranate , bacon and a perfect dressing. We watched them making the pasta for my friends dish and lastly finished it off with a panna cotta with lemon curd-HELLOOOOO!!! I'm savoring each bite and took my cousin another cuz it was tooooo good to share. We are headed back... Excellent service

Mackenzie A.

Yelp
Cannot believe how amazing this place is. We absolutely love Bar Rosa and when we knew Chef was starting his own place we couldn't be more excited. The scallops, all'amatriana, and the custom cocktail was the most amazing dining experience! Cannot recommend it enough

Sonya Z.

Yelp
Loved the cocktail and bartender was very sweet. Wednesday night half off pizza is something unheard of!

Joey P.

Yelp
We shared the scallops, peach toast, corn fritters, and pork belly. These apps were some of the best food that we ever had in the state! The drinks, service and atmosphere was also incredible! Do yourself a favor and drop by this place.

Christopher V.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere and vibe. The buratta starter and corn fritter dish were amazing. Great spot for a casual experience with friends.

Ulyana K.

Yelp
Hm....went there on recommendation. Did it impress. The drinks are not shaken. The atmosphere is weird. Service was ok, but the smell of weed was disturbing and overpowering.

Carrie P.

Yelp
This was the worst food I have ever eaten. Every meal our party ordered was inedible and hard to even describe how over powering it was. We were so hungry that we tried to be open minded but this was not a case of dislike it was not food you would pay money for ever!

Thavy C.

Yelp
This was our first time at this restaurant and we were very excited to check it out based on the reviews. When we entered the restaurant, we noticed it was extremely quiet. We looked around to see if someone was there to greet us and for a good minute or so didn't see anyone. We waited until a young waitress approached and said that we could sit anywhere. We made our way towards the window seating and noticed a couple of smashed French fries under the table where we sat. I was surprised no one came to clean it considering they were not even that busy. The staff were just standing around hanging out. For the Menu, we had to scan the QR code which is pretty standard these days. My fiancé and I ordered two mocktails called the botanical tiempos which were delicious. I ordered the creamy burrata toast and pork belly rub for me and the cozze al vino bianco, half dozen oysters, and fries for him. I was so excited for the pork belly but was disappointed because the dishes didn't come out hot. The pork looked like it was kind of seared on some sides and the rest left gelatinous and rubbery. This feels like food made from the night before, they did a quick sear, placed on a bed of coleslaw--and the coleslaw was not good. The vinaigrette was too much, it made the pork belly really wet. Too much rice wine vinegar... I couldn't finish the slaw. Vegetables tasted again like leftovers. The burrata toast was yummy. I liked the burrata and the prosciutto with hot honey. Bread was nicely toasted. No complaints there. My fiancé loved everything he had. His one complaint is that the mussels weren't hot. That dish was lukewarm. I felt the same way about the fries. I would have given this place a 4 stars if there wasn't an issue with temperature. The waitress seemed to be in a rush to get us out of there. She came with the card scanner when I was still finishing up my meal. I told her it would be all on one check and she stood there waiting for me to get my card when I clearly wasn't done with my food. Service could have been better. I'm not sure if she was a newer worker and maybe still learning? but that was NOT great customer service. None of the staff noticed that we got up and left. I think the service could of been better. It was just odd. Our total came out to be about 91+20 tip which is pricey for happy hour. I'm not sure if we'd be back again, just because there are inexpensive/justifiable eats elsewhere. We might come back and try their breakfast menu... still on the fence.

Yelp
Amazing EVERYTHING!!! Went to a four course murder mystery dinner recently and everything from the service room the food and of course that night entertainment was all spot on. I've been for brunch and mimosas and late night for pizza. This place has yet to disappoint.

Yelp
This was quite literally one of the worst meals I have ever had. At least the 4 bites that I forced myself to keep trying because I was so hungry. Came in for my birthday with a party of 4. we ordered the cheaper bottle of wine (they were out of it & brought us the more expensive without asking if we wanted it & charged us the more expensive price). Myself & another person in our group ordered the pasta rustico. We both had one bite & looked at eachother in horror. I can't begin to describe it. the noodles were over cooked. what should have been a pesto sauce tasted like a sour assault to my senses. I couldn't taste basil. I got an overload of parsley & what may have been bottled lemon juice & possibly an overdose of sun dried tomato. whatever this was supposed to be was a cacophony of an overpowering sour mess. The sausage was overcooked & crumbly & had no flavor other than the acidic mess it was drowining in. I tested the other plates that the rest of my party ordered & they were only better by a small margin. either the rest of these good reviews are fake or else there is a different chef. I have no idea how anyone could eat this.

Yelp
Favorite new restaurant in Tacoma! The service is always top notch and all the tested dishes and drinks have been delicious! The interior is young and hip but classic and the lighting is pleasant both day and night. Great job Manuscript and welcome to Tacoma!

Yelp
After a few decades of enjoying this space in all of its past lives, this is the one that I hope sticks! They have made this barebones industrial space feel inviting and cozy in the bar and restaurant area. The DJ booth and dance area in the back will be great fun after late dinners. There were four of us in our party and we were all VERY pleased with each of our menu selections. We were there on a very busy Friday evening & there were some newer waitstaff figuring it all out, but they were friendly and seemed very well supported by their coworkers. We always had what we needed. I can't wait to go back and have made reservations for my birthday celebration next month.

Yelp
Food tasteless. Atmosphere depressing. Service adequate. We had read great reviews. Maybe just hit an off night.

Yelp
Cool place, pretty busy, definitely a great place to people watch. I happen to go during DJ Sunday, so it was a little too loud, though in there. The servers were nice & the food was delicious.

Yelp
Me and a friend came for brunch last week and it was a pleasant experience. The service was great. Very attentive and friendly. The concha's were AMAZINGGGG. They were very fresh and delicious. I got the manifest drink and it was ok but very sweet so I didn't end up drinking it all. We ordered a small lemongrab baby and it wasn't bad but it was really sweet and just absolute covered in the jam and lemon curd (would not get again ). The chilaquiles were really delicious. Would definitely go again (:
