The Best Chinese Food in Nashville | Eater Nashville

"Meet Noodles is a Brooklyn transplant at the southern edge of the Vanderbilt University campus dishing up blisteringly spicy bowls of Chongqing noodles, also referred to in Chinese as xiao mian. The noodles are wheat-based by default but you can sub in sweet potato or rice noodles to go with tingly Sichuan pepper and a wide variety of meats and vegetables — the perfect antidote to a cool evening. Snacks like sesame seed balls, dumplings, and takoyaki complement more than a dozen versions of the signature noodle dish." - Ellen Fort

Where to Eat in Sunset Park’s Chinatown | Eater NY

"Meet Noodles specializing in Chong Qing-style noodles and is a salve for the cold months, when diners can cozy up in roomy booths. The steak noodles look impressive with their generous chunks of meat, but the tomato sirloin option comes in a rich and spicy broth that provides a comforting umami. Everything is under $10." - Pelin Keskin

Meet Noodles Brings Numbingly Spicy Noodle Bowls to Hillsboro Village - Eater Nashville

"The former home of Savarino’s Cucina at 2121 Belcourt Avenue has reincarnated as Meet Noodles, a noodle shop with roots in Brooklyn, dishing out a variety of spicy noodle dishes originating from Chongqing, China. Chongqing noodles, collectively referred to as “xiao mian” in Chinese, translates literally to “little noodles” in English. In Chongqing, xiao mian is a traditional breakfast dish and common street food, and the popular wheat-based numbingly spicy noodles are served either with or without soup, using Sichuan pepper, plus a wide variety of meats and vegetables. The Brooklyn Meet Noodles menu shows more than a dozen varieties of Chongqing noodles — from tomato sirloin noodles and spicy sour noodles to bowls with pig intestines, pork, or seafood. Beyond noodles, fried snacks like chicken wings, mini buns, and yams round out savory options. Brooklyn’s menu also reveals a lengthy drink list including matcha, cheese oolong, and rose tea. Mille crepes are also available." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Flight 2121 Will Open in Hillsboro Village’s Former Home of Savarino’s - Eater Nashville

"Flight 2121 is the new name for the international cafe in the former Savarino’s Cucina space at 2121 Belcourt Avenue in Hillsboro Village. Originally slated as Belcourt Café International Cuisine, a new sign draped outside says it will be called Flight 2121 (the restaurant’s street address number) instead, and has the tagline “take off to your international destination.” Hungry Dine LLC, who also owns and operates two Dosa Hut Indian Grill locations in town, will apparently offer everything under the sun in the new restaurant, including Malaysian, Indonesian, Chinese, Italian, Thai, Indian, Singaporean, Mexican, and Middle Eastern dishes." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Google
Really enjoyed this unique restaurant. The spicy noodle soup bowls were wonderfully seasoned and each had a unique broth with each topping set. The heat levels are just 1,2, and 3. I got the duck bowl with a one heat and it was enough to clear my sinuses without blowing my head off. My husband and son got the 2 heat and were sweating by the time they were done, but really enjoyed it as they had a good mix of mala, or numbing and spicy heat. The noodles were amazing, firm and with a good chew, and enough texture to retain a lot of the soup. Great with the fresh bok choy. It was delicious. And each of the bowls were plenty big enough for everyone's needs

Google
The flavor and the taste of the food were good but the portion was a bit small. Chong Qing Spicy Chicken tasted quite salty thought. It looked fun for the dining space on the second floor.

Google
Tastiness of food, service, price all on point! Pretty decent soup noodles and the dessert pumpkin pancake is great too.

I’ve been a customer for 3 years, but things have been getting worse lately. It feels like they might have changed owners? There is no ground pork in the spicy sour noodles I ordered, which should be according to the menu. The staff seemed really unfamiliar with the menu, and ordering over the phone took a lot of effort. But in the end, they didn’t get the ‘build your own’ order I wanted, so now I have to pay extra when I pick it up just to get what I actually asked for… The flavor of the food hasn’t changed much, but considering everything—plus the rumors about the kitchen cleanliness—this will be my last visit.

Google
We loved this place. We had a good chat with the owner (co-owner, I think), very nice guy. The food was amazing. Way better than your average place. Especially loved the Shanxi Sliced noodles & the pork & cabbage dumplings. I totally recommend both of these. Definitely going back. I really can't say enough nice things about this place. Please try it.

Google
From Oregon passing through Nashville and asked Jackie to make a traditional dish not on their menu and he obliged. It came out absolutely perfect and delicious! Szechuan pork wonton in chili oil… go check it out!

Google
Situated near Belcourt, we couldn't resist a visit to Meat Noodle. Upon entering, the special of the day, Duck noodles, caught my attention due to my fondness for duck dishes. My companion went for the tomato sirloin noodle bowl. To begin, we ordered a seaweed appetizer that pleasantly surprised us. The duck, though flavorful, contained quite a few bones. The sirloin proved delectable and both dishes had exceptional broths. The experience was positive enough to warrant a return visit in the future.

Google
Food was okay but the staff were not great. Was ignored when entering the restaurant. Along with this, staff never gave me a menu or utensils and I had to take it from another table. Food was okay but overpriced for the portion size too.

Yelp
We've been searching for good Chinese food since moving to Nashville, and we finally found it at Meet Noodles. Everything we tried was fantastic. I had the braised rice with pork and a side of dumplings--both were delicious, and you could tell the dumplings were made from scratch. My wife had the beef noodle soup and loved it. The owner even came over to chat with us--super nice guy, which made the experience even better. This is the kind of place we'll be coming back to often. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place seems to be in a busy area. Only parking is on the street and you have to pay. When I walked in , it looks pretty run down. The pork dumplings were good. You can tell they make it from scratch and not the frozen ones. The takoyaki was good. Also makes from scratch. A bit crispy on the outside. I had the tomato broth with beef and wide noodles. The broth itself is a bit bland but some people like that. A bit pricy But food is decent.

Yelp
This was the driest, nastiest Taiwanese basil fried chicken I've ever had in my life. I chewed each piece so hard that my jaw was popping. I genuinely think it was day old chicken microwaved on the plate and then served. I brought up this issue to the waiter and they did not offer any solution besides saying "yeah our customers complain about that often". Not worth $9 at all.

Yelp
Dumplings and Noodles, oh my! I visited for lunch and I'm glad I did. Atmosphere and service were ok, but the food was good and the prices were fair. I really enjoyed the flavor of the Spicy Sour Noodles. The broth was delicious and the soup was full of delicious components, including some perfectly cooked bok choy. The sweet potato glass noodles were super long and a bit difficult to manage, but they tasted great. Our table really enjoyed the Pork and Chives Dumplings and the Basil Fried Chicken that we all shared. The roast pork buns were good also. My friend really enjoyed his bowl of Steak Noodles. Come here expecting good food at fair prices and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We just went to Meet Noodles for the first time and loved it! They have their own parking spots, such a perk on a pay street. I got the steak noodles, it's definitely a lightly flavored pallet for you to add onto. The spicy at the table is delicious, do it!! We got three apps, I loved the pork and chive dumpling most, the bao and spring rolls were good, too. Service was great. We'll be back!

Melissa L.

Yelp
It was so good even able to share!!!! Super nice people. And amazing to eat before the concert at the college
google avatar

Pratiksha M.

Yelp
The picture doesn't do it justice. The portions are HUGE. I had a build your own and it was a great deal. Their pickles (chinese mustard) are awesome. Our waitress was patient and helpful. They have 2 free parking spots in front of the restaurant. We also got the bao buns, but wished there was a bit more filling. Overall place is a great deal with authentic food. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Amazing place to eat with family or friends! I've been here so many times and every time it hits the spot. The vibe and the food are so comforting. My favorite is the Fish Ball and Wonton Noodles. Big portions and wonderful flavor. The staff are all super welcoming and engaging, too. This place is authentic Chinese food and I love it.
google avatar

Yelp
My daughter loves the tomato sirloin noodle soup. Beef is too tough, but overall really great flavor.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
This place is legit. the food is all fresh ingredients, traditional dishes. the noodles are homemade and the meat is slow cooked. the broth is so rich. not many places in the area have this level of goodness. if you like traditional noodle soups this place is a must
google avatar

Teresa F.

Yelp
I wanted to like this spot. The menu looked delicious. But the dining area was dirty, disorganized, and harshly lit. The porch was worse. I couldn't bring myself to stay and find out about the food.

James H.

Yelp
I and my family went to Meet Noodles a few times but it is different now! The guy in the front looks like a drug user, tired, no smile, poor English and no patient at all. Some food is ok but some food is bad smell. Can't go there anymore.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
The service was slow, the food was bland, and the place was eerily quiet. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
The most authentic and good quality Chinese food in Nashville. Love this place!! The staff was quick as well!

Yelp
I am a frequent visitor of this restaurant, as I often crave a warm and hearty bowl of Chinese beef noodle soup. To me, the best item on the menu by far is Zhou's beef noodle soup. Generous portion size with nicely marinated beef cuts and bok choy. The soup broth is very savory and delicious. Have ordered a few other things off the menu (basil fried chicken, tonkatsu, cold spicy chicken) and nothing has really hit the spot like the beef noodle soup. Seating is cozy, server is prompt, items are a bit pricey (ends up being about $20 per person per meal) for what they are. Overall a place that makes a few things really well, but not everything on the menu is as great!

Yelp
Meet Noodles is located right next to Vanderbilt's campus and you will need to rely on street parking in this neighborhood. I came in about 30 mins before their closing time and they were kind enough to accommodate me! When I walked in, I noticed that it is a very casual place with students actually studying at multiple booths. I did a build my own with chongqing broth and noodles, ground pork, and bok choy. I do wish the broth had been more savory. I felt that it was lacking slight depth of flavor. However, once I put some chili oil in it, it tasted pretty good. The veggies, meat, and noodles were all cooked very well. This is a solid place if you have have soupy noodle craving!

Carolyn H.

Yelp
Always stop by Meet Noodles when in Nash! Owner and staff are kind, food is excellent, plus it's a cute little place. Enjoyed the vegetable noodles, edamame, and pork and chive dumplings. All homemade and authentic comfort food. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Alex T.

Yelp
Great service, fantastic food! Highly recommend the beef noodle soup. Good to see that Nashville has some phenomenal Asian cuisine!

Shelley P.

Yelp
I got a noodle with pork but could find hardly any meat in this dish. The broth was average and I asked for Rice noodles and when I got home (this was a takeout order) I realized that they have me a different noodle. I didn't really like this place. Sorry for the review.
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
Food Quality 4* Portion Size 2* Service 1* OVERALL 2* I had a little difficulty with ordering as the server wasn't understanding my dietary needs. It was only after using my limited mandarin did we finally get on the same page although she was still dismissive of my request. So I just decided to order from the make your own bowl. I just wanted a soup bowl and therefore got the Tom Yum broth $4 (filled halfway), Sirloin $3 for 3 small square pieces of meat, Bok Choy $1.50 for 1 stalk cut up, Fish Cake $1.50 for 1 tiny cube sliced in half. The taste of the broth varies from very bland to the Tom Yum which was good but I was too exhausted to argue that the server gave me a different broth to top off the halfway filled soup bowl so I just dumped it into the main bowl. PS - They have a sign on their door that they need Part-Time servers. There's a lot of potential for improvement.

Yelp
After having a fun time visiting the Parthenon and more at Centennial Park, I was ready for a late lunch. I did a search on Google Maps and got chains that I wasn't feeling. Instead, I did a search on Yelp and Meet Noodles came up. It was a hot, muggy day. Was I up to getting a piping hot bowl of noodles in soup with an excessive heat warning? Sure, why not? I was sweaty anyway, so might as well go for it. This Meet Noodles is across from a plaza with Bank of America and a dental clinic. Vanderbilt University is nearby. I actually parked near the dental clinic because the shade there was great to keep my car cool. I parked there and walked across the street to hit Meet Noodles. If it wasn't so hot, I would have parked in front of the eatery. All parking spots were available with no shade for your vehicles. There is patio seating on the veranda part of what looks like a converted house. I doubt that anyone wants to sit there under excessive heat. I didn't see a ramp for those requiring accessibility support. There are steps to get to and from the main entrance. I walked in and a nice man greeted me. I got a booth immediately. There were a couple of folks eating. It was nicely air-conditioned. I got the following items: - Shanghai pork buns (5) with dipping sauce - Steak noodles in soup - Peach fruit tea I asked for water and got iced water. My peach fruit tea also came. Both were icy cold, which I appreciated. The peach fruit tea had fixed sugar. It was sweet, but not overdone. It was perfect, refreshing, and delicious. My Shanghai pork buns arrived next. The buns were so cute. Each one was good. The pork filling was flavourful and had the right amount of juiciness in each bite. The exterior of each one was fluffy and perfect. These were the real deal. They were authentic and scrumptious. Likely to cater to western eaters, dipping sauce accompanied the buns. The sauce tasted like a boring sweet and sour sauce that had little flavour to it. I dipped once and left it alone. I recommend skipping this sauce. My bowl of steak noodles in soup came. It smelled incredible! Just having this bowl of noodles in front of me made me happy. The broth was flavourful with a bit of a spice kick. I loved the green onions in it. The steak was tender and perfect. It came with baby greens that were tender and provided a nice contrast, both in texture and colour. The noodles were excellent. They were chewy and fresh. I enjoyed this dish immensely. A female staff member, who likely was in the kitchen making my food, sat a couple of booths away from me to have lunch, too. It is a comfortable dining room. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and all was well. I didn't bring my USB C cable with me. I could have charged my phone as I ate. I liked that you had outlets to charge your phone and laptop at each booth. They were a nice touch. I used the washroom before leaving the restaurant. It was clean. There are two single-stall unisex washrooms. They are across from the payment counter. I thanked the nice man and left. I took my iced water with me. My tummy was content with excellent food. Yelpers aren't wrong. This place has authentic Chinese food. I still dream about that bowl of steak with noodles. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd return in a heartbeat. (282)

Yelp
Just okay....I have had better broth at several ramen/saimin places here in town. Noddles and protein were good and typical.

Angela N.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The Zhou's noodle soup (we changed it to sliced noodles- which are the thicker noodles) was so delicious, we came back for it a second time. The owners are so nice and welcoming. We also had the seafood noodle soup, basil fried chicken, and dumplings. All very good, but definitely the zhous noodle is what brings us back. 10/10 would recommend.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
We ordered takeout from here so I can only review on their food. I will say that their food was very authentic and the broth was delicious. I recommend the Zhou's beef noodles. It had lots of flavour, and it's even better if you add a bit of spice. I will say though, that we had some difficulty with our order since the person taking our order had trouble understanding us, and we had to repeat the order a few times. Even after that, the spice level was mixed up between the orders. We weren't too frustrated about that because the food was still delicious
google avatar

Ashby F.

Yelp
I can't believe it took this long for us to visit. We were extremely impressed with everything. It's a nice little hole in the wall spot near Vandy. We tried the rib and mushroom noodles, spicy sour noodles, sesame balls, pork and cabbage dumplings, and takoyaki. Everything was fantastic, but the appetizers were some of the best dishes I've had in town. Especially the takoyaki...just a flavor explosion. We will be back asap.
google avatar

Bailey P.

Yelp
You know it's good when it's only Asians in the restaurant and they don't have forks (actually they might have forks but I couldn't give up my pride to ask for one). Our waitress did not speak very good English and did not really understand me when I asked for recommendations -- but she and the rest of the staff were still very friendly. I ended up with the beef brisket rice and was very happy with my decision. It is a very large portion and very filling. The brisket was full of flavor and the veggies complimented the meal very well. I was worried I would regret my decision of not getting noodles but I am fully content. Parking was a bit stressful...it was a Sunday so I took my chances and parked in the bank parking lot across the street. There is also some outdoor seating so you could sit on the patio and keep a watchful eye on your car if you are risky like me. :)
google avatar

Yelp
Location is easy enough to get to but parking is another story. Thankfully we got there early and found good parking. It was paid, but we're not familiar with the area. There could be/have been free parking elsewhere. The menu has plenty of options (some clearly very authentic, if not all). If you aren't sure of something you see, ask the waitstaff. Our waiter was very helpful in correcting what was listed on the menu as included ingredients vs what was actually in the dish (e.g. acid beans weren't in any of the dishes but were listed under several). He also happily made a substitution on a dish he recommended for me (e.g. ground pork instead of pig intestines). DH + 2 kids and I ordered multiple dishes - all except apps were served in broth as stated on the menu. Steamed pork dumplings were ok. Skin/wrap was good, filling a little different than we've had in past but ok. The kids liked the steamed pork buns (bao) but DH and I didn't care for something in the flavor. The flavor of the Chongqing noodles I had was pretty good. The noodles were excellent and by far best I've had. Texture was great and the chew was really good. One kiddo had Beef Noodles and the other had Steak Noodles. Neither liked the meat and said it was tough and difficult to eat. They said the flavor of the broth was ok but not enough to overcome the meat. DH had Spicy Sour Noodles and did not care for it overall. Flavor just didn't deliver and the clear noodle just wasn't as good he had hoped. The facility seemed clean enough but smelled very very heavily of frying oil. We all smelled of it when we came out and as we finished up our afternoon gallivanting. Considering the other good reviews, I'm thinking we might have gone on an off day or possibly off time? I can't say we will be return customers though.

Megan B.

Yelp
Not the cleanest on the inside. Food didn't have much flavor. Service was good and our waitress was kind. $50 for two bowls of ramen and plate of chicken. Can find better ramen in Nashville for the same price if not cheaper.

Claton H.

Yelp
The server was nice, but the food tasted like soup and butt. Otaku ramen is where we should've went. Otaku's food, does not taste like butt, water and soap. Maybe it's what we ordered. We ordered two of the Ramen things and some kind of chicken thing took three bites $50 and left.
google avatar

Mia Y.

Yelp
Really decent place in the area. We definitely enjoyed the basil fried chicken which DID NOT have any basils or basil flavors but it was still good. Zhou's beef noodles was pretty okay with a flavorful broth. I expected the Chongqing noodles to be spicy but it was actually kinda bland in my opinion. Their chili paste on the table was not spicy at all but still tasty. The only reason I'm giving it a 4/5 is because there wasn't much of a service. Don't take me wrong tho, their staff members were really friendly and nice but nobody checked on us during the meal and I had to track down their servers TWICE because they forgot about our fried chicken. Other than that, the place is decent and worth a try!
google avatar

Ariel H.

Yelp
What a great find! This is super close to the Vanderbilt campus so they definitely get a ton of business. We were visiting from out of town and wanted something quick and easy at the end of a long drive, and we weren't disappointed. The broth was flavorful and noodles were great. My husband replaced the normal noodles with the knife shave noodle and I personally think their normal noodles were better. You can build your own soup/ingredients here so you can get customize for what you want. One thing is our waiter doesn't seem to have great English so it took a few tries to get our order down. Not a deal breaker of course since we can just point. 4 free parking spots available in front of the restaurant, but plenty of street parking around - I think you have to pay but we got here late and didn't need to.
google avatar

Kimberly C.

Yelp
The food was good if that is your kind of thing. Was looking for Ramen like you see in videos and that wasn't what this was. A lot of things are made with very weird parts of animals.
google avatar

Ellen O.

Yelp
Meet Noodles is such a gem in Hillsboro Village! My friend and I went and got a bunch of small places to share. Our waiter was so great and recommended us some of his favorites - they were all delicious! The basil fried chicken was my favorite of the small plates. The portions are generous and the appetizers are very shareable. There is plenty of patio seating at the restaurant which was a great bonus. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Quin B.

Yelp
I had an outing here on a Friday evening. The restaurant was empty except for one other party. The menu had several options between appetizers, soups, and drinks. I decided to go with the shanxi sliced noodles. Soup is not my preference for any meal but can be quite warming in the winter, however this was summer time. My hot soup arrived and I began to critique the broth which is the foundation of any soup. I was quite pleased with the rich flavor that it imparted as I sipped away. The beef was thin and tinder and the bok choy wasn't over cooked. The noodles appeared to be fresh from the taste and texture. It had a very good flavor profile overall. I did try the vegetable noodle soup as well. I found it to be very bland and lackluster. It paled in comparison to the shanxi. I think I will have to return in the winter and try one or two more soups to form a better judgement of the food.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice service and delicious noodles! Recommend their all noodles and cold appetizers! Try their ducks next time!

Yelp
Stopped into Meet Noodles on a Saturday. The restaurant is located along side a series of restaurants that look like converted homes. That in of itself was cool and different. I was worried parking might be an issue but we found street parking fairly easy. The service was quick and friendly and they were more then willing to walk me through the different noodle options. I had a pork steam bun as an appetizer and it was solid, moist and decent flavor. I tried the " build your own noodle" option and decided to try ground, pork, peanuts on top of noodles. The dish was exactly what I was hoping for. The noodles were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The ground pork was a solid version with the right consistency and flavor. Overall I would come here again to explore different options on the menu. I reccomend!
google avatar

Rick M.

Yelp
Food was bland, did not really have much flavor. The decorations of the restaurant are a scattered mess affecting the ambience. What is the theme? The service was good though.
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
There's indoor seating at the moment as they are completely renovating the entire inside of the restaurant. We were sat on the outdoor patio and it was great for people watching and getting some fresh air. We ordered way too much food, but all of it was delicious and flavor filled! Two orders of dumplings for table; the pork and chive and cabbage and pork. Plus an order of mini seafood rolls. No idea what seafood they used, but they were still good. The dipping sauces were clutch for both of these treats. My tomato sirloin noodles were fantastic and the portion was huge! The broth was a spicy tomato base with a nice spice, hint of oil, lots of veggies and sirloin. The sirloin was a little fatty for me, but the non-fatty bites were tender and a awesome addition to the soup. Like I said the soup portions here are huge and you'll definitely have leftovers for the next night or two!
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
This review is for takeout only, and I had a great experience ordering some dumplings and apps - I ordered right from the counter since I was walking around the neighborhood and came back 15 minutes later to grab my eats. I took them back to my hotel and enjoyed with some vino, and overall great move on my part. I went with the pork and chive dumpling and the pork buns. The filled on the buns left a bit to be desired in terms of flavor and texture. The bun itself lacked a bit of moisture you'd typically find in a steamed bun, but whether that's on the fact that it was takeout or the preparation I don't know. The pork and chive dumplings were AMAZING. So delicious and fried to perfection, I would order exclusively those moving forward if I lived in the area. All of the noodle dishes I saw coming out looked wonderful. Overall, a great spot for convenient takeout or dine in.

Yelp
Good food! Amazing drinks! The rose mojito and mango milk tea was phenomenal!!!! I also got the pork cutlet noodles which were really tasty! Hope to come back someday!
google avatar

Kenneth D.

Yelp
Service was subpar. A party who came after us finished their food and left prior to us getting out food. Bao: cost too much to what you get. These were frozen buns with little fillings. Wings: Hong-Kong style??? No seasoning....maybe just salt and soy sauce. Tiny and dried/over-fried. Noodle soups: are okay...nothing special. Noodles themselves are bland Lychee fruit tea:. There's no tea. It's just lychee syrup and water. Way too sweet.

Yelp
I visited Meet Noodles on a chilly Saturday afternoon on November 28, 2020. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor seating on the patio is available. Unfortunately, there's no patio heaters, so I'm not sure how this place will be attracting customers as the weather gets even colder. The Chinese chives pork dumplings were okay. They taste like the dumplings you can get from the frozen section at your groceries. I felt like the chongqing noodles tasted like and had the same consistency and texture as the noodles for chicken noodle soup - kinda like a angel hair pasta. The broth itself tasted rich and deep, but oily. The wontons were very small and sad. The takoyaki was seasoned, but was filled with a lot of starch batter and very little octopus, which was disappointing and I would not recommend. The steamed bun was good but stingy with the filling.
google avatar

Victoria T.

Yelp
Loved the noodles! I got the pig intestine noodles, they were pretty spicy after finishing the entire bowl. Also got the chongqing spicy chicken appetizer, it was really good. It's got peanuts on top, but it didn't say that on the menu, and my friend was allergic so he was bummed he couldn't eat it. We didn't know it would come with peanuts. But the pig intestine noodles were really good and spicy, and the portion sizes are pretty big.

John C.

Yelp
We ordered beef ramen and dumplings for takeout. Food was ready fast and tasted great
google avatar

Victoria W.

Yelp
The flavor of the food is actually great. I mean, really great. It's not 100% authentic but really close. Didn't love that my boba tea was delivered without boba and when I called about it, I was told that I needed to opt in on boba. For...ummmm...a boba tea? Anyway. Food good. Service meh.

Yelp
I wanted to support a local business, I was in Green Hills, and my Yelp Bookmarks told me the closest restaurant I wanted to explore was Meet Noodles! Game on! I've been meaning to try this place for a long time! With a lofty Yelp rating of 4.36, and a 4.6 on Google, I was excited! Looking over the menu, many dishes were authentic, reminding me of my visits to China. This is not your cheap, neighborhood Chinese hole in the wall. This is mid-priced excellence in Chinese cuisine. So I phoned in my takeout order, as the owner is wisely prohibiting dine-in guests for safety reasons. FYI: You can't order through the restaurant website, so ordering through Yelp or the free BeyondMenu app are your best bet. Once ordering, they'll cook it fresh in about 15 minutes, unless you're ordering during peak hours, and you simply walk up to the front door and pay. I started with the Chinese Chives Pork Dumplings. These soft doughy goodies with plump filling dipped in a chili sauce were truly amazing! My main course was the Pork Chops Noodles, a bowl of hearty soup with numerous pieces of pork, fresh bok choy, scallions, and cilantro. I wish the pork had been of a little higher quality and closer resembling pork chops, like a similar dish I get in Los Angeles. But I have no complaints about the flavor of this entree! This particular dish comes with xiomiàn, which is literally Chinese for the "little noodles" that accompany Chongqing noodle dishes native to southwest China. Similar in appearance to the thin spaghetti noodles of Italy, these are chewier with a wonderful texture that really holds the broth. My experience was a good one, and I must return to try the uber-popular basil fried chicken!

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a weekend, has three parking spots right in front of the restaurant, a bunch of metered street parking otherwise. Only one table was taken when I walked in, another table got taken about halfway through my meal. I got the intestine noodle with sliced noodle, hot. Noodles could've been a bit thicker and chewier but were quite good, and the soup was pretty tasty, sufficiently spicy. Intestines were marinated, I enjoyed them. Meal was expensive for what it was though, especially for the portions. came out to be a bit more than $15 post-tax pre-tip. Service was non-existent.

Yelp
It is great to have an authentic Chinese addition in Nashville. The menu has good variety of noodles and a few other popular Asian dishes and appetizers. The service is friendly and saw that we were with a young kid so they seated us in a comfortable corner away from busier areas, which we appreciated. We visited on a Saturday evening, so the crowd was heavy on student groups and dates. The ambiance is reflective of the building's history as an Italian restaurant, complete with Italian signs and wall art. On our visit we were also charmed and a little amused by the 90s music, especially since most of shiny happy people in the restaurant were not born when Michael Stipe was losing his religion. That didn't stop patrons from humming or singing along anyway. But you're here for the delicious food and time with friends or family, sing-alongs or not. We had Takoyaki to start, and it was OK but I should have stayed with Chinese appetizers. Next we had Shanxi sliced beef noodles and seafood noodles. The broths were delicious and rich, the noodles delightful (the young one also liked slurping them up) and the ingredients were fresh and well presented. Next visit I will try some of the spicy Chongqing noodles and the tea from their excellent drink selection. Prices are a little on the high side for what you might expect for a bowl of noodles, however competition is low and food is fresh and delicious. Give it a try - we need cultural gems like this to thrive in Nashville.
