"The former home of Savarino’s Cucina at 2121 Belcourt Avenue has reincarnated as Meet Noodles, a noodle shop with roots in Brooklyn, dishing out a variety of spicy noodle dishes originating from Chongqing, China. Chongqing noodles, collectively referred to as “xiao mian” in Chinese, translates literally to “little noodles” in English. In Chongqing, xiao mian is a traditional breakfast dish and common street food, and the popular wheat-based numbingly spicy noodles are served either with or without soup, using Sichuan pepper, plus a wide variety of meats and vegetables. The Brooklyn Meet Noodles menu shows more than a dozen varieties of Chongqing noodles — from tomato sirloin noodles and spicy sour noodles to bowls with pig intestines, pork, or seafood. Beyond noodles, fried snacks like chicken wings, mini buns, and yams round out savory options. Brooklyn’s menu also reveals a lengthy drink list including matcha, cheese oolong, and rose tea. Mille crepes are also available." - Delia Jo Ramsey
