"Located in the former home of Savarino’s Cucina at 2121 Belcourt Avenue, I visited Meet Noodles, a noodle shop with roots in Brooklyn that dishes out spicy Chongqing-style 'xiao mian' (literally 'little noodles') originating from Chongqing, China. I note that in Chongqing xiao mian is a traditional breakfast and common street food; the wheat-based, numbingly spicy noodles are served with or without soup and rely on Sichuan pepper plus a wide variety of meats and vegetables. The Brooklyn Meet Noodles menu shows more than a dozen varieties — from tomato sirloin and spicy sour noodles to bowls with pig intestines, pork, or seafood — and fried snacks like chicken wings, mini buns, and yams round out the savory options. There’s also a lengthy drink list including matcha, cheese oolong, and rose tea, and mille crepes are available. Meet Noodles Nashville is open daily from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m." - Delia Jo Ramsey
