"Mesón Sabika in Naperville, Illinois, opened in 1990 and offers "a unique dining experience that blends old-world charm with modern culinary excellence." It is housed in a historic mansion, with a must-try paella section featuring options from vegetarian paella with cauliflower and brussels sprouts to the traditional Valenciana style with chicken, shrimp, mussels, and clams." - Stacey Leasca

"The ambiance rivals the dishes at this suburban restaurant — a sister spot to Tapas Valencia — housed inside a 1847 mansion on a four-acre estate. In an environment like that, it’s easy to feel transported — and the food only helps, thanks to authentic flavors found in plates like ham croquetas, grilled chorizo sausages, and grilled chicken skewers." - Naomi Waxman, Ashok Selvam, Eater Staff

Mesón Sabika is truly a gem! Took my dad here for Father’s Day and from the moment we arrived, we were struck by how breathtaking the place is—nestled in a gorgeous historic mansion surrounded by beautiful gardens, it feels like a getaway tucked right into Naperville. The food was outstanding—every dish was rich in flavor, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. You can taste the care and quality in every bite. Whether it was the tapas, the paella, or the desserts, everything exceeded expectations. What made the experience even more special was the service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. You can tell they take pride in creating a welcoming, memorable experience for their guests. It felt like dining with friends who just happen to be incredibly good at hospitality. Inside and out, Mesón Sabika is stunning—and the atmosphere is matched by the heart and soul they put into their food and service. Can’t wait to return!

We hosted my son and future daughter-in-law‘s bridal shower at Meson Sabika this past weekend. It was the most amazing experience! The food was exquisite, the service impeccable, and the grounds are perfect for pictures. Courtney and Jessica were very attentive to our needs during the entire process from booking the room, accommodating disabled family members’ needs, and communicating during the shower. We could not have been any happier with our experience.

We were seated in the patio area under the shade on a sunny day, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. They offer a wide variety of tapas and lunch entrées, all served in generous portions. Each tapa had distinct flavors, ranging from spicy to sweet to savory. The service was overall great; it can get a little busy, but they manage to serve everything on time.

We had my daughter’s bridal shower at Meson Sabika in the Pulpo room on March 8, 2025. If there were 6 stars I would give that! Fantastic service, ambiance and food. It couldn’t have turned out any better! Highly recommend!! We had the Rosa Tapas Style menu and added bacon wrapped dates, champagne toast and sangria pitchers. Our guests raved about the food. Our event coordinators worked with us on the menu and pricing and the servers didn’t leave a glass empty and were very attentive. The room is just beautiful so we accented with candles and flowers for a lovely atmosphere. We were able to take pictures in the room and outside. Lovely!!

We went here for an early Valentine's dinner. We started with Quesos Espanoles...Spanish cheeses with caramelized cranberries, apricots, and smoked tomato marmalade. We also had Solomillos a la Plancha...Grilled beef tenderloin medallions, served with mashed potatoes, drizzled with a red wine sauce and Datiles con Tocino...Roasted dates wrapped in bacon served with red bell pepper sauce. Then finished it off with Tarta de Pera...Almond and pear pound cake, drizzled with caramel sauce, served with vanilla ice cream and Tarta de Chocolate y Carmamelo...Warm bittersweet chocolate and caramel custard baked in an almond and hazelnut tart crust with vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious. Simple yet flavorfu dishesl. The service was great and the atmosphere was good. They have small plates with many delicious flavors. There's something for everyone. We'll definitely be back to try more menu options. We even got a thank you note in the mail!

Very nice place for tapas. We came here for a company dinner and it was very good. The food came out fast , service was friendly and everything we had was delicious. We had 1 person in our party that was vegetarian and they were able to enjoy food options as well. If you've never had tapas, please note that these are small, appetizer sized dishes. Typically you would order 2-3 per person . We shared all the tapas so we were able to taste a little bit of everything. And dont be surprised at how fast you get full!

It’s the people who can make or break an experience. Amanda was our waitress and was so welcoming and professional, never forgot a request and was always there when we needed her - not an easy task in such a large and well-attended restaurant. We were celebrating our one year-old granddaughter’s birthday and we were a bit worried about the staff’s reception but the maître d’ put us at ease by warmly greeting us during this heat wave and she seated us upstairs in a beautiful and secluded room… Food was of course outstanding and the delivery staff all equally wonderful. The leadership at this establishment must be ideal. Thank you for another wonderful experience.

This place is so special. I went there in the winter but I can still see this would be a beautiful place in summer time. We were just back from Spain and this place just brought us back to Spain. Everything we ordered from the tapa menu is delicious. We would definitely be back. The server also is very friendly and helped us pick the dishes.

Oscar was such a hospitable and helpful server. The food and atmosphere was excellent will 100% be back

Yelp
Tried this place on Tuesday night (August 13, 2024) This place was great! Beautiful scenery and a huge patio (which is where we sat). The weather happened to be nice so sitting outside in summer was nice and refreshing. Service: Our server was ok this evening, he seemed a bit distracted, but for the most part got our food and drinks to us satisfactorily. Food: Super tasty! We tried the bacon wrapped dates, salmon, lamb chops, and a few other things. (Sorry, forgot to take pictures because we were so hungry). but, everything tasted fabulous! We ended up getting attacked by mosquitos so they let us move inside for dessert (nice way to keep us happy - appreciate you). Great place to have an intimate or large dinner. Go try them!!

Yelp
Dined here on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. When we arrived on time for our reservation, we had to wait outside for almost 30-minutes on a hot, humid, summer day. The outdoor garden was cute minus the Sam Adams and various other alcohol-branded umbrellas - I found it odd that a classier establishment like this wouldn't invest in some nicer umbrellas. The 3 of us finally got seated inside at a very small table. There was a standard happy birthday card from the restaurant at the table which was a thoughtful touch. They brought out complimentary bread which was more like dry and chewy crostinis. By the time the tapas came out, there was barely any room to grab items or comfortably eat given the size of the table. We spent most of the evening moving plates around trying to make room at the table. We ordered: - Patatas con Aioli (garlic potato salad) - Queso de Cabra (oven baked goat cheese in tomato basil sauce) - Datiles con Tocino (bacon wrapped dates) - Albondigas con Almendreas (meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce) - Patatas Bravas (spicy potatoes topped with cheese) I have one word to describe the food... flavorless. Multiple dishes needed salt. Items labeled spicy were not spicy at all. The garlic potatoes reeked so heavily of garlic, I didn't bother trying them. The only dish that had a speck of flavor was the Queso De Cabra. We were so underwhelmed by the dishes we ordered, we decided not to order anything else even though we were still hungry. Since it was my birthday, I was brought out a complimentary Profiterol del Pirineo (pastry filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce). We ordered 2 more so everyone could have their own. The pastry was tough and hard to cut into pieces and the chocolate sauce was excessive and overpowering. Our server was sweet but I didn't like that she kept coming back every 15-minutes or so to see if we wanted to order more food. I understand that with tapas you order food throughout the meal but I felt like she wasn't cognizant of us wanting to pace the meal and converse. The staff who brought out the food just left hot plates on the edge of the table and didn't warn us that the plates were hot... I found this both unprofessional and dangerous. I appreciated the birthday acknowledgements but was overall unimpressed with the entire experience.

Yelp
We had lunch here with my husband's college friends. We were amazed at the entire property! Mostly because we didn't realize how spacious the place is. The courtyard is beautiful! When we were there, they were setting up for a wedding as well. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu for food. I also found out afterwards that online, there are picture of certain menu items. The sausage samples were okay, I mean nothing super special about it really. The sausage stuffed mushroom were soooo good though! The empanadas were flakey and filled with meat. We also enjoyed the pasta a lot too. The shrimp were big pieces and the fresh vegetables were a nice accompaniment with the pasta. Makes it feel lighter. I wasn't a fan of the flan. It was the white chocolate for the day. I thought it was a little too sweet and towards the bottom, it was like grainy. Not sure what happened there. I do want to back and try some of the cold tapas and the paella though.

Yelp
Romantic dinner that became our honeymoon dinner since we didn't take an immediate honeymoon. Service food wine ambiance all first rate.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner here! I made a reservation for a party of 8 (6 adults and 2 kids) when we had some visitors over a weekend. This restaurant is located in a beautiful historical mansion, and we were seated indoors, upstairs. FYI I am not sure they have an elevator. I initially requested outdoor seating but when the temperature got sweltering hot, I switched to an indoor preference. I called their staff and they updated the notes without any issues. And everyone got the same memo too because no one was seated outside that day - it was one of those uncomfortably, dangerously hot summer days. Since we had a large group, we were able to try a bunch of different things. So if you have the chance to come with more companions, the more the merrier! They also have kids meals for little ones. Our server was so friendly and recommended a nice bottle of red to go with our meal. Here is what we ordered for 6 adults: Carne Asada Solomillos a la plancha Costilla a la riojana Remolacha Jamon Serrano Patatas con aliola Queso de cabra Pincho de pollo Campesina paella The menu is extensive and can be overwhelming, so we relied on our server's suggestions. The paella orders are taken at the beginning, and we were briefed that they can take up to 45 minutes to prepare. We decided to get the Campesina paella with chicken and chorizo (no shellfish) since there were allergies at the table. The food was SO delicious and I loved shareable tapas experience. My favorite was the queso de cabra, which is "oven-baked goat cheese in tomato basil sauce, served with garlic sauce." They are not joking about the garlic, it was heavy on the garlic which is perfection. The evening we dined here, there was a wedding banquet in the terrace space next to the mansion, with a big tent and guests wearing their finest regalia. The staff that night were working hard, but everything was executed perfectly. This place KNOWS how to handle large parties well, and the hospitality was top notch. The food was paced, the wine glasses placed, the wine poured, and each tapas was freshly prepared. I didn't get too many photos of the food since I was just enjoying the company and being in the moment. I now have really fond memories from our meal here. And it was a good choice for dinner (patting myself on the back) to reunite with friends who traveled near and far to visit. Meson Sabika will always have a special place in my heart!

Yelp
Meson Sabika is a stunning Spanish mansion turned restaurant, offering a truly picturesque dining experience. We ordered the Mariscos Paella, pork jamon croquettes, bacon-wrapped dates, and empanadas. The ambiance was perfect for a special afternoon. The food was good, though not outstanding. The bacon-wrapped dates were a highlight, delicious and well-executed. However, the Paella and empanadas were just okay compared to what we've had in Spain and at other Spanish restaurants.Overall, Meson Sabika provides a lovely atmosphere and a decent meal. While the food didn't quite match our high expectations, it's still a delightful place to visit. Four stars!

Yelp
Had a 7:30 reservation on a Tuesday night, ended up waiting almost 20 minutes to be seated. The hostess explained that usually there's a back log caused by the 5 - 5:30 tables where they are just getting done. So if you go around 8 the tables will open up much faster. The hostess kept checking on the people waiting and offered updates and did the best she could to ensure the people waiting felt not forgotten. Aside from the wait the outdoor seating was great due to the nice weather. We got 4 hot tapas (spicy potato, shredded Brussels sprouts, skirt steak and grilled octopus) and 1 cold one (mushroom with palm of hearts and cheese). Spicy potato was seasoned perfectly with just the right heat. The shredded baked sprouts was great with the cheese and seasoning. Skirt steak was cooked perfectly t medium rare but I forgot to tell them to take out the blue cheese (that's on me). Grilled octopus was perfectly cooked that you can cut with a butter knife (the green sauce was super fragrant but has a bit of kick). The cold dish was just the right amount of citrus to go with the mushroom, hart of palm, and asparagus. Couldn't decided on the sangria so got the Sangria Flight instead. ($25) totally worth it because they come in full glasses. Peach, prickly pair, mango, and strawberry. I hate strawberry or cherry drinks because they reminds me of medicine but the sangrias are all very well made. 4-5 tapas for 2 is a perfect amount. Just expect a bit of wait but the food, service, and ambiance is top notch.

Yelp
Beautiful mansion to dine in with good food and service. Reservations are recommended because they stay pretty busy. Very convenient to make reservation on OpenTable. Portions are small since they are tapas after all, making the prices lean on the higher side. The noise level in the room can get a little loud. Spice 'n Ice Martini $15 - It's green from the jalapeno and has a nice kick. Remolacha $13 - Gold and red beet with arugula salad. Queso de Cabra $15 - Goat cheese in tomato sauce served with garlic bread. It's good, but nothing special. Pulpo con Salsa Verde $19 - The grilled octopus was a little fatty, but well cooked and the green salsa was very complimentary in flavor. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024

Yelp
Service is amazing very quick, ambience is incredible feels like you are in a beautiful mansion and fairytale. Food was mixed. Pro- tapas were tasty but some needed more flavor and came out fast. Con- paella is disappointing stewed tomatoes made it very pasty tasting not great. The seafood on it was delicious but the rice was too wet. Bread was stale. The duck confit one was very bland. The stuffed mushrooms needed more flavoring.

Yelp
Loved sitting on the patio for our anniversary dinner. Exceptional service from Kevin and all of the other team members who brought food to our table. Loved the beet salad and the goat cheese with poached pears. The smoked duck on toast was excellent. Those warm shaved brussel sprouts are fabulous! The dessert special, a warm fruit crumble with strawberry, rhubarb and orange was the perfect ending. What a special place!

Yelp
Went there for a family dinner over the holiday weekend. It was a busy night and we were seated outdoors. Nice ambiance with the red brick paving. Good service albeit a little in the slow side in the delivery of food and drinks. Started with some cheese plates and bread and garlic toast. Nice selection of cheeses and jams to accompany. We ordered a selection of dishes to share. All were well prepared and tasty. The potatoes bravas were my favorite. Chicken with cumin was excellent. Sausage was enjoyed although I tried a small piece The two paellas were the seafood and vegetarian Both were loaded albeit smaller in size. Good vegetable selection many peas... Overall good experience.

Yelp
I have been here in the summer months which is gorgeous sitting outside. This time we chose the Christmas season. It was for my birthday with a large group of friends. We were seated downstairs which I requested in the outside room that was center. They put up removable walls during cold months and it's lovely all seasons. The only thing to keep in mind. There is a large vent shooting the heat into the room. My eyes are sensitive and it was shooting right at me. If you can get placed in side tables or with your back to the door into the room you'll be fine. Have your least favorite person face the door ;) We ordered several dishes to share. They are small but it really is fun to try a little bit of everything. The prices are fair. It will still add up though so be aware when choosing. The octopus was surprisingly one of our favorites. We ordered the paella right away since it takes 45 minutes. Since we had 8 people and we were a little loud and having fun the waiter forget to put it in but because of all of the things we had ordered in the meantime we could not have eaten it anyways. I'd recommend asking for the downstairs. You feel like you are in a Victorian house. The upstairs is nice but you'll understand why I recommend when you are there. Overall a very pretty establishment a little off the downtown Naperville path.

Yelp
We dined here for the eighty dollar prix fix Mothers Day menu. They sat us in the semi-enclosed patio area, which was a bit overwarm and where birds were nesting. Had two children with us: one ordered fish, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and sauce on the side, and one ordered chicken, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and sauce on the side. One received french fries instead of mashed potatoes. One received no broccoli and the other received a fruit cup in addition to the broccoli. Neither received sauce. It took three tries to get this even close to corrected and it was never actually corrected properly. The fixed menu included cold tapas, hot topas, an entree, and dessert. The cold tapas I selected was potato salad, and it was good, but it was just potato salad. The hot tapas was croquettes, which were fine but not very flavourful. The biggest let down was the steak. It was tough and under seasoned and no steak knife was provided. The broccoli was overcooked. The sauce was just brown - it was allegedly truffle, but there was no truffle flavor. The presentation was particularly dated - just brown and unappealing. The potatoes were the star in the entree. I quite liked the tres leches dessert and the peach sangria was also very good. Overall, this was a very substandard experience for an expensive holiday outing. With drinks and tip this bill came to over five hundred dollars. I can only assume based on its reputation that this place used to be much better than it is today. There are so much better restaurants in Naperville, and I will not be coming back.

Dieter H.

Yelp
Madison Sabika once again provided a wonderful summer outdoor dining experience. I would agree with the comments about cost and food you read in other reviews. Sadly the server yesterday wasn't all that great, she wouldn't split our check (2 couples) and didn't take any dirty dishes off our table when she came.

K L.

Yelp
Arranged dinner to celebrate Mother's Day for my mom and wife. Not our first time here, and as expected, food choice and quality were impeccable. Service and wait staff were (as always) cheerful and pleasant, although given the utter chaos of the holiday, you could tell they were feeling the stress (props to them!). We opted for outdoor/patio seating, and that only added to the pleasant ambiance that evening. There was a special Mother's Day menu feature with several options for each of the 4 courses; we opted to each get different plates and share among the family. In fact, there was too much food that it seemed as if there was hardly any room left for desert...we still slammed the desert lol.

Yelp
Monday night @6:30. Reservations for 7 for birthday celebration. Beautiful venue. Great service. Edgar was very nice and very attentive. Food was a mixed bag. Some items were delicious. Some just ok. Nothing bad. HUGE problem.... Celebrating a birthday, so we brought a cake...we were told we could not open it or serve it. No outside food allowed. Excuse me...I just spent $400 for dinner, and brought a cake in (which i bought and paid for), and we can't have it! Absolutely inexcusable! They brought out a dessert for the birthday girl, but we were stuck with a cake we couldn't eat. And we came from three different locations, none of which were close enough to drive back to so we could have cake at a different location. If this is your policy, post it on your website. Shame on you! We had three birthdays this week, and the other two restaurants had no problem letting us bring a cake. Actually, NO other restaurant has ever denied us the opportunity to celebrate a birthday with a cake. I would absolutely recommend you take your celebrations elsewhere.

Yelp
Beautiful grounds & building. We prefer regular menu, but as it was Easter Sunday we could only do price fix menu which was $79.99 per person. So this is definitely a special occasion restaurant. We were seated upstairs which would be a hard climb for elderly or disabled folks. Reservations are a must. We had choice of cold tapa, hot tapa, entree & dessert. We got a pitcher of prickly pear sangria that was fabulous. We had to wait a long time between tapas & entrees. My short ribs were good, halibut was a tad dry. Desserts were yummy. Definitely recommend regular menu over set menu at holidays.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Meson Sabika for the wedding of a friend of ours. This was a very nice venue to have a wedding at. There is plenty of parking and the entrance was close to the parking lot. The room where they had the ceremony and the reception was beautiful and spacious. The bar always gets crowded when it first opens after the ceremony, so I tried to beat the crowd and took two glasses of water before the ceremony. I then placed the two glasses of water at my seat. When the ceremony was over, I went back to my seat to discover that the water was gone. THEN I DID HAVE TO STAND IN LINE instead of visiting with other guests. This is my biggest pet peeve: when servers take my food and drinks before I am finished with them!!!! The food that was served was very hit or miss. The appetizers that were served during the cocktail hour were very good, but the appetizers served before dinner were very unimpressive. I had the salmon for my entrée. The best part about it was the potatoes that came with it. Meson Sabika was a very nice venue to host a wedding and was very inconsistent with their food.

Shannon J.

Yelp
You cannot go wrong with Meson Sabika! Always reliable service & food. The setting is very relaxing & welcoming. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine suggested by our sever plus the stuffed mushroom, baked goat cheese, blue cheese salad, vegetarian pasta & beef empanada. Chef-kiss! Special of the day chocolate cake was awesome as well!

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Celebrated our 2nd anniversary here, back where we had our wedding! We enjoyed seating at the outdoor patio and absolutely loved the scallops and king crab on toast. We noted on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, and also mentioned it when asked by our waitress. She said they offer an anniversary champagne toast, which I sadly could not have this time because I am pregnant. Perhaps due to lack of experience, she stated that it was ok, she wouldn't tell if my husband drank both. Well that defeats the purpose of a champagne toast! We asked if we could get the virgin sangria on the house instead. The waitress said she would see what she could do. Later, she brought us a "birthday chocolate dessert." Honestly we were disappointed at how impersonally this was handled. Our wedding photos are still being used on Meson Sabika's website. We were not compensated for the photos and felt that asking for virgin sangria comped after spending over $10k here and coming back for a nice dinner was not a big ask. Still might come back for food and ambiance because it is that great but not impressed by the service at our latest visit.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Beautiful scenery and delicious food and drinks. Calm ambiance. The weather was sunny and warm when I had my dinner date here. This place was a recommendation from my stylist. Ordered the sea scallops as my main dish which paired well with the wine flight. Will be back!

Gregory S.

Yelp
Meson Sabika is a really good tapas restaurant inside of what seems to be an old, former residential estate. The effect is a combination of large, newer and open areas combined with various smaller dining areas inside the old brick building. It's an attractive place to have a meal. It's not excessively dressy but I wouldn't arrive wearing jeans and a T-shirt either. Business casual. We visited for a birthday meal last fall and again about a month ago. Both times our servers were excellent and offered suggestions of both foods and wines. The tapas we ordered on both occasions were really good! The folks who own Meson Sabika also own Valencia tapas on South State Street in Chicago which is why we wanted to try them out. I've driven by Valencia hundreds of times but it always seemed more crowded than I wanted to deal with. MS is turning a pretty good crowd too, but it doesn't feel crowded. Will be back again and again.

Bill P.

Yelp
Always a nice place for special occasions and dining. The menu is very large and lots of choices for tapas and entrees. Service is very attentive. Ambiance of a mansion environment is obvious.

M. G.

Yelp
This is a beautiful property with lovely staff and delicious food. We enjoyed everything we ordered, including the prickly pear sangria. We shared several dishes, savoring each bite. Our server was attentive and friendly. We were seated upstairs which did get a bit too warm given it was summer, but it was cozy and pleasant. It would be good for the hostess to give fair warning about the stairs; they can be a bit of a challenge for some folks. We had visited nearly 20 years ago and it still has the same charm and delightful food. Highly recommended for a date night or celebration meal. We hope to be back sooner this time :)

Yelp
Our waitress Izzy was wonderful, beautiful restaurant, we had the perfect table right by the window. Our food of course was amazing. It was a wonderful evening out.

Yelp
The Perfect Dining Experience.....Happy Hour at the bar at Meson Sabika! Every featured Tapas dish was delicious! Drinks and dessert were also fabulous. Such a great bar area - very welcoming! Thank you Leo and Edgar for making our visit a wonderful experience. We are looking forward to our next visit already.

Lexi J.

Yelp
Five stars! Can't believe this draft was never published, went for birthday in 2021. Beautiful restaurant inside and out, "white glove" service, friendly staff. Reservations are made online or over the phone. It is a tapas restaurant, small plates, with larger options as well. Perfect for date night, kind of loud from what I remember, it gets packed, but where we were seated felt intimate, tables not packed together. The patio feels like a beautiful courtyard.

Gene A.

Yelp
I can't praise this place enough. Such a great date night spot!! Or even drinks and apps with friends!! If the weather is nice make a reservation and sit outside. The grounds are so beautiful. Great wine list as well as cocktails. Each tapas plate we had was excellent! The service was great. We will definitely be back, hopefully soon.

Yelp
This Spanish tapas restaurant captivates the senses with its vibrant flavors and authentic culinary experience. Each bite tells a story of meticulous preparation, showcasing the chef's dedication to traditional Spanish recipes. The patatas bravas, with their crispy exterior and creamy interior, are elevated by a zesty sauce that leaves a delightful kick. The ambiance complements the gastronomic journey, transporting diners to the lively streets of Spain. In essence, a visit here is not just a meal; it's an immersion into the heart of Spanish cuisine.

Sherwin C.

Yelp
What a beautiful location! I was fortunate enough to be invited here for a wedding that gave me both the opportunity to experience a larger portion of their beautiful venue and get wedding level of service which involved a ton of butler served hors d'oeuvres, changing of plates, pouring of drinks, etc. The staff was definitely helpful to make sure that the guests were well served and having a great experience. A few of the memorable hors d'oeuvres were the gambas a la plancha that had an excellent firmness with giant sized shrimp and a delicious lemon butter sauce that really helped to elevate the flavor of the shrimp and brought a good brightness to the dish. The cangrejos con alioli were also great, giving the flavor of crab cake with the addictive texture of a puff pastry. I also really enjoyed the flavor combinaton in the Jamon searrano with a good level of earthniess, saltiness, and fatiness created by the mix of serrano ham and manchego cheese. The tapas I was able to try also mirrored the quality and artistry of the hors d'ouevres. The menestra de verduras has a nice mix of colors and healthy flavor to it. It wasn't too chilled so I was able to get a good earthy flavor from all the components. The slamon curado con queso was flavorful, maybe a little too rich with the amount of dill cream cheese in it, but I did enjoy the house-cured salmon quite a bit. The datiles con tocino helped to demonstrate how delicious dates can be when prepared well. They had a good firmness and strong sweetness to them which were paired with the bacon that had a nice saltiness to it as well. I felt that these two flavors were so strong that the roasted bell pepper sauce actually got a little lost. The pipirrana de buey was quite a surprise as the grilled skirt steak was so tender I had though it was a different cut of steak. It was provided in generous portions with the onions and potatoes absorbing all the flavor of the juicy steak. The entrees I was able to sample were done fairly well also, but not as exciting for me as the bolder flavors available in the tapas. The grilled atlantic salmon was prepared in a fairly standard banquet style in a light lemon butter sauce. i did enjoy the nicely seasoned potato cake that this came with. The grilled filet mignon was very tender and lightly seasoned. The yellow squash and zucchini were grilled nicely to provide a nice firm skin but juicy flesh. The potato medallion was sauteed nicely with a slight sear that provided a good flavor and I liked the juiciness of the stuffed tomato. Overall, some of the best wedding food I've had in the last few years. I love the dedication to utilizing fresh high quality ingredients and then cooking it in a way to highlight the ingredients without masking it in an excessive amount of salt or sauces.

Yelp
Delayed review from my trip a couple weeks ago. We went for tapas and enjoyed everything. The sangria smaller is delicious and two of us split it, which the waitress offered as an option. The setting may be tad stuffy, if you're not expecting it, but I enjoyed it.

Yelp
Wonderful food, great atmosphere, lovely wait staff and service. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Very good tapas. Decent variety of both hot and cold tapas. Pricing is typical, $12 to $18 dollars a plate, sized for two to share. Service is good and food generally fast. I've eaten here for personal and business. Rarely disappointed.

Yelp
If I could give a zero star I would. Worst ever service ! Wouldn't let me bring in a birthday cake and put our party of 14 right by the front door where anyone would go in and out. Forced us to bring our cake home! They could've informed me when the host called me earlier to confirm my reservation. Asked for a more private table, the person in charge/ manager kept interrupting and cutting me off and the server were rolling her eyes while serving our drinks. We asked for glasses for our Sangria, I don't remember how many we requested and it wasn't enough for our party but she made sure that she corrected us by telling us " you've have asked for 7"The first time in my life I feel discriminated against because we didn't look rich enough for them and the color of our skin was different. I never liked bringing the race card up but this establishment clearly promote racist stereotypes. We ended up leaving and went to another restaurant. For our party we could have easily spent over $2000. I will share this experience with my friends and family and their friends and families Will not waste an ounce of energy in people that doesn't care.

Yelp
Wow...just wow! While outside Chicago for a business trip, we went to Meson Sabika for a team dinner based on a colleague's recommendation. I don't know what we each expected, but none of us thought we'd be going to dinner in a gorgeous old mansion in the suburbs. Meson Sabika is massive, with tons of seating inside and outside, as well as an outer building perfect for private parties like weddings or anniversary parties. We were seated in the side garden which was beautiful and dotted with umbrellas and exposed lights above the tables. Our server was so nice (I'm not used to all this midwestern friendliness) and helped us navigate the large tapas menu. He made a few suggestions and we ordered a number of items, starting with a Paella (delicious, served in a hot skillet). The bacon wrapped dates were honestly my favorite, though the spicy potatoes were also a huge hit. The chicken al limon was ok, but definitely not the highlight of the night. I also devoured the garlic shrimp. Overall, this restaurant blew us away with the ambiance, service and food!

Yelp
The food was good but small in portion. I ordered the Salmon A La Plancha. The food was good but small in portion and came with a top size scoop of mash potatoes. As for service, our server was polite but REMOVED AN ANT from our table. When a refill for another Ginger Ale came for the wife, it was an ANT in her drink. By the way, we're an interracial couple. I summoned the manager after the ANT IN THE DRINK, and he apologized with dessert on the house. Sometime later, a Caucasian woman dressed in a black top and leather bottom pants greeted two caucasian couples on one side of us and then skipped us and went to another caucasian couple on the other side of us, then walked away. Keep in mind, she did not say a word to us. About 15 minutes later, she came to our table and greeted us. She must have had some sort of consciousness of guilt or whatever her reason was. I don't like to bring the race card into a matter, but it was obvious that race played a role. Nevertheless, I WILL NOT GO BACK THERE TO EAT! Which is probably feeding right into their hands and narrative of not having an interracial couple visit their restaurant. We visited the restaurant on Sunday, June 16th 2024 Father's Day.

Yelp
The environment is good but their service is suck ! They are racist ! We went there for party of 14 , they put us at the entrance ... we requested to change seat but got rejected and we felt the server is not willing to serve us . We ordered drinks and want to order more and she said why don't u tell me the correct number of glass ? We paid the drinks and 2 kid meals & left the place , no manager or anyone in charge come and talk to us . We asked for check and the server just gave us and did not ask or say a thing !!!! First time and it's last time for us !!

Yelp
Took my nephew & mom to dine. I've been here many times, and love this restaurant! They were impressed with the "little plates" and the fresh & delicious offerings. My nephew said it's one of his fav places!!

Yelp
The only reason I am giving this place five stars is because Yelp won't let me give it six. This place is awesome! I looked at some of the ones star reviews and they all seem to complain about Service. Apparently these people have never been outside of McDonald's and they're not used to slower European style service. The food is awesome and just like Spain. This is a happiest meal I've had in years. Outside patio was great and perfect spring summer weather. I recommend the chorizo, stuffed mushrooms and scallops. The vibe is fantastic inside and out.

Yelp
Made reservations for right when they opened for lunch. We were seated promptly, and all staff were fantastic throughout the meal. I started with a prickly pear sangria. We ordered the garlic potato salad, which was absolutely delicious. It should come with warm bread or pita though. We also ordered the warm goat cheese and tomato dip. The waiter correctly said it would be good even on a shoe lol! Yes, I agree! Hubby got the beef tenderloin sandwiches, but forgot to order medium-rare. They came medium and were great, but waiter should probably have asked for temp. I ordered shrimp pasta lunch. It had perfectly cooked pasta, shrimp and asparagus. Sauce was great too. I don't mind paying for quality food and service. However...be prepared to pay more than average here. We will be back for special occasions ( unless we come into money lol)

Yelp
Amazing tapas place in the area. Went here for a ladies brunch and it's a perfect way to end weekend on a sunny day. The drink menu is amazing!! Please try the cucumber cocktail!!

Yelp
I feel like you can probably always find a spot here, because it's so huge. Wanted to sit a La fresco and it did not disappoint! We sat in the area in front of the restaurant. The service was pretty slow. The weird thing is that when you book, on their website, and on their menu, it says "two hour limit for all parties." Ok. We got our paella at the 2 hour mark, over an hour after we ordered. We told them we were in a rush, didn't really matter. The food was good but not amazing. I did really like the paella and the goat cheese with bread. My hubby liked the tiger shrimp but honestly everything else was just ok. Didn't get to try dessert bc we literally had to run out of their to get our kids (after 2.5 hours). All in all, nice experience with nice ambiance and I will probably be back for the paella!

Yelp
Nothing too elaborate here in terms of my review, because quite honestly, I feel like most people know that this is a pretty solid restaurant. And it is. Food is fantastic and the sangria is a requirement. However, my wife and I, and two other couples recently dined in, and I was not impressed with our server at all. He was very much absent, and at one point during the meal while we were ordering another round of food, he simply turned and walked away without explanation. Everyone immediately just sort of looked at each other and laughed because it was really odd. To top it off, he came to the table maybe 4 times in total including his hellos and goodbyes, and then had the audacity to ask us for a five star review because "it would really help him out." But being totally honest, if this review was for him alone, I'd have given him none. Next time we come back I'll have my fingers crossed we aren't seated in his section.

Yelp
I've been here a maybe 5 times throughout the years. I like small portions. I like going here during the summer. I was quite impressed with the beef quite tender. Crème Brûlée , excellent!

Yelp

Yelp
Awesome ambience, food and drinks. Our bartender Leo was friendly and really knowledgeable about the building, the food and drinks. I'd recommend the Green Martini. I don't recall the name but...it's green. I'm guessing that's all you need to say. It's a delightfully light drink with cucumber and jalapeños..but not too spicy. Also the patatas alioli were amazing!
