Miette Boulangerie - Review - Little Burgundy - Montreal - The Infatuation

"There’s something so lovely about the way the sunlight streams through the windows of Miette Boulangerie, especially when it illuminates a tray of rosemary and sea salt-dusted focaccia sitting on the counter. This Atwater Market-adjacent bakery is a top neighborhood choice for all things sourdough, including their smooth-textured classic white/whole wheat mix, a unique Québec-origin Khorasan porridge bread, and a dense, sprouted buckwheat loaf. We never leave without a small jar of their garlic confit breadcrumbs, which are great on top of a salad or soup." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

Google
They have great bread, but this particular visit was about their viral turkey club sandwich. Don’t get me wrong. It was very good. Fabulous balance of ingredients and super fresh. Naturally, the bread was top-notch. The price though. $25 after tax and tip. For a sandy. I need that under $20 if I’m gonna be a regular. Definitely worth a shot though, just not an every day sandwich.

What a treat! This bakery was next level! My friend and I split a club sandwich and it was heavenly! We had the Dubai chocolate pastry and it was such a treat. Just an amazing place with attentive and friendly staff.

Perhaps the greatest sandwich I have ever eaten. Get the club. Their sourdough bread is perfect and everything was so fresh.

Breads are amazing! Wish there was a slicing option, even if it were paid… Sandwiches though… they have an overwhelming amount of dijon mustard. I could not finish my sandwich. There was no balance of flavors, which sucks because the bread is amazing. The tuna sandwich was supposed to have sun dried tomatoes, but you could barely taste them. They really need to rethink their sandwich formulas.

A bit on the expensive side but worth it. I have started preordering my sourdough every weekend because they do sell out fast! Love their sandwiches too

Olive and walnut loaf was flat and a bit gummy but they were fair and knocked two bucks off the price. Taste was interesting, crumb still holding. Maybe not the best day. Asked to buy some of their starter, cashier said it was their "closely guarded secret", politely refused. Was advised to ask other bakeries in the area. I wonder if that secret is holding them back. Great baguettes, though!

Google
30$ for a loaf od bread and a focaccia. I don't mind paying this for the best bread there is but this is simply not the case here. The bread is good, but nothing to write home about. In my opinion, the taste does not justify the price at all. I saw the answers of the owner for the reviews saying the same thing, but the quality of the ingredients do not justify their steep prices. In my opinion, a lot of the hype is the result of their great instagram and marketing efforts. You can find as good and even better at a better price around Montréal for you weekly bread.

The bread is wholesome, fresh, and so so good!! Loved the French toast, sourdough bread, cheese focaccia and almond blueberry toast. The store staff were charming and helpful. Must go when in Montreal.

Yelp
A good place for artisanal sourdough bread. Some of the bread is vegan such as the Classique. The focaccia is available on weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). I recommend ordering online and then picking it up in-store. I went there on a Saturday afternoon and only a few loaves were left.

Yelp
A new bakery had opened since November 2021, and I just discovered it now. It's a beautiful, spacious bakery. The service by Lola was beyond awesome. You will find all sorts of bread from classic sourdough to focaccia with different flavors. I ordered pesto and parmasean focaccia bread with a coffee. While my coffee was being prepared, I had a pleasant conversation with Lola. Meantime, tons of customers came in to buy the classic sourdough breads. Right away, you see what's in demand. After concluding my transaction, I brought my goodies at home. My pesto and parmasean focaccia bread is the best thing ever; it's mouth melting delicious. All the bread lovers, you must try this bakery.
