Upscale spot offering elevated Chinese cuisine in a Georgian townhouse that features posh decor.
"One for both horticulturalists and dim sum fans is Mimi Mei Fair’s plans for Lunar New Year. The swish Chinese restaurant has brought a florist in to transform the Mayfair spot into a particularly lush version of the Rainforest Cafe. There will be a tree for guests to dine under, with gilded cages filled with red envelopes hanging from the branches. Food-wise there’s a ‘Basket of Wealth’ which is three types of dim sum, mains include crispy pork with pineapple and pomelo, and there’s a traditional sticky rice cake with chocolate ice cream for dessert. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation
"Mimi Mei Fair looks like a lacquered jewellery box and the food is exquisite. Everything is presented beautifully and tastes amazing. The Peking Duck is sliced tableside and tastes like savoury candy. The dumplings could easily be mounted on bands and worn as gorgeous cocktail rings. The food is absolutely sublime and the service is beyond attentive. It’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny. Your date nights will never be the same after this experience." - Edward Barsamian
"An opulent Georgian Townhouse whose décor takes its inspiration from early 20C Chinese interiors. Sit in one of the ground floor booths or in the brighter first floor 'Parlour'. The wide-ranging menu offers classic Chinese dishes; wood-fire roasted Peking Duck is the specialty and sharing is encouraged." - Michelin Inspector

"This atmospheric restaurant, set across multiple floors in a Mayfair townhouse, already features hand-painted silk walls, striking furniture, and ornate chandeliers, but it is getting a further makeover especially for LNY, with a purple floral paradise installation symbolising prosperity, peace and luck. As well as this, a menu, also by Peter Ho, will start with two “basket of wealth” dumplings, thought to bring luck, and continue with oysters and a chopped truffle vegetable soong. It’s available from 13 January until 5 February." - Shekha Vyas
