The 12 Best Sushi Spots In Denver

"Yes, you’re going to see tables of wannabe influencers with ring lights taking pictures of seductively plated sashimi and a cocktail named after an Ariana Grande song at Mizu Izakaya. But guess what? The sushi, noodles, poke bowls, skewers, ramen, and hot stones (they have a very lengthy menu) are so good, even people who have never thought to edit a photo will leave satisfied. Happy hour is an especially good time to go, when the sake bombs and california rolls cost $5." - allyson reedy

Where to Eat in Denver’s LoHi Neighborhood | Eater Denver

"Though the sushi and ramen are solid, it’s the small plates that really shine at this sultry Japanese spot, from grilled squid and yellowtail collar to karaage and the signature cream pork kimchi. They’re built, of course, for pairing with saké — but for a change of pace, try a cocktail featuring ingredients like dragon fruit, ume, or oolong tea." - Josie Sexton

I’ve been coming to Mizu for years, and it’s always such a fun experience! The vibe is great, the music is always on point, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I love bringing friends who are visiting me here—it’s the perfect spot to kick off a night out. They’re always so accommodating, and the food never disappoints. I usually order a little bit of everything because it’s too hard to choose! Some of my favorites are the Kobe beef buns, uni carbonara, hotate roll, crispy spicy tuna, and the Brussels sprouts—everything is consistently delicious. Lee, the owner, always takes the time to check on his guests and make sure everyone’s having a great time. You can really feel the care he puts into the space, and it makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

Google
There were about eight of us here for a birthday celebration and we were all very happy with all the dishes, ambiance, and service. Had some amazing appetizers, omakase, cocktails, and wagyu beef skewers. The food timing was great, and the waiter knew just when we were full. Everything was plated magnificently. Will be coming back again for sure.

Google
This place was a vibe overall! Inside looked very nice and unique! The Chicken Karaage appetizer was very very good! It comes with their house aioli dipping sauce and wow! Their Japanese Sausage skewers were yummy as well! Entree wise I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and I would easily get it again. I added A5 Wagyu Bone Marrow to it which I’d say isn’t worth it.. I didn’t get a cocktail but I got their Purple Haze house sake and it was tasty! You should give this place a go!

Mizu Izakaya is an absolute gem in Denver! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an incredible ambiance that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The food was phenomenal—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sushi was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the izakaya-style small plates were bursting with authentic flavors. The wagyu, ramen, and specialty rolls were all must-tries! Service was top-tier, with attentive and friendly staff who made great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed. The cocktail menu was equally impressive, with expertly crafted drinks that perfectly complemented the meal. The vibes? Immaculate. The atmosphere was lively yet intimate, making it the perfect spot for a date night or a night out with friends. Mizu Izakaya truly exceeded all expectations—I’ll definitely be back!

On the pricey side, even with half-price happy hour, but it's nice food! Not mouthwatering, but nice! Great atmosphere and service!

We really wanted to love our experience but it was a horrible experience. The music was so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation or hear the waitstaff at all. We ordered two drinks showed up quickly but and they were great but that was the only good experience of our 1.5 time in the restaurant. The waitress was more concerned with a 6 top, took a long time to come back for orders. We ordered 3 appetizers - potato korokke, chili wontons and the kobe beef buns, two meals - surf n’ turf and their special of salmon. The korokke showed up quickly and we waited over 30 minutes for anything else to arrive. The buns were wrong, we got the pork belly instead which we specifically made sure we were clear we did not want because of the slaw. The surf n’ turf arrived before any of the other appetizers and no other meal in sight. The waitress finally came back to ask what we needed and we told her everything we were missing. All of the food came out at once. The appetizers were good, but the tenderloin on the surf n’ turf was chewy and bland, mashed potatoes were cold and too many flavors in one dish. The salmon had hair on it and we asked for a new one, our waitress said she would have a new one made. The manager came by and offered to make everything, so we waited… And waited some more and the waitress came back to ask what we were waiting on to which we replied the other meal. Turns out they cancelled the remake. So 1.5 hours with overly loud music, cool artwork, good drinks and so-so food that took forever to arrive and cancelling a meal after agreeing to make it right. I would suggest steering very clear of this place.

I love this place so much. The BEST SUSHI roll I’ve ever had is definitely the “High Roller”. The $ is worth it. All the food is so good and atmosphere is great! I would definitely recommend this place.

Google
This was our third visit, and once again, this Japanese restaurant impressed us. The ambience is romantic, with dim lighting that sets the perfect mood. Service was excellent. The specials were the highlight of our meal - especially the Chu-Toro carpaccio, which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Shrimp Shumai was juicy, meaty, and full of flavor. Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh. Don't miss their yuzu ube margarita - it's my favorite cocktail here, a perfect balance with citrusy flavors. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We came here to get food for takeout. The service was great and they got us waters while we waited for food. The food came out rapidly and it was still hot by the time we got home. The hamachi Kama (yellow tail collar) was a lot of fish! They gave us two huge pieces of fish on a bed of spring greens with many slices of lemon. The spicy ponzu was way too spicy and i have pretty good spice tolerance already. The large chunks of fish were very juicy and delicious. There wasn't even that many bones. I liked the furikake fries but they ended up being pretty soggy. The spicy mayo with the chicken Karaage was very good though. Would be back again- great food!!

Yelp
First time here, the ambiance is great. Crowded and lively on a week day. But the food wasnt mind blowing. I am unsure of what their specialty is, everything is kind of a hit or miss depending on your palate.

Yelp
The ambiance of the place is really nice and the service was great! I really liked the honey miso eggplant appetizer. It was something new for me to try. I liked the duck ramen, but it was difficult to eat the duck drumsticks with chopsticks without getting my hands too messy. I know it's for presentation purposes, but I'd rather take slices from the lighter meat parts of the duck. I think it would be better if they had used crispy Peking duck skin with the meat instead. The fat from the duck gave it a nice rich flavor though. The sushi roll was okay, but nothing different than other places I've tried.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour with a friend and it was a great experience! Their HH menu has such a great selection of both food and drinks- I love when places include food in HH!!! I got the lychee martini and the yuzu ube margarita for drinks- both refreshing and light. For my rolls I got the Philly roll and the mizu roll, and my friend got the spicy tuna roll and the mizu volcano roll. They were all so fresh and delicious! Service was attentive and we loved the patio vibe. No complaints and definitely will be back!

Yelp
Great, big and affordable happy hour menu and a lovely patio for the summer! We ordered a bunch of sushi (just basic rolls), chicken, brussel sprouts, dumplings, and shishito peppers - it all came out super fast which was so nice! Will be coming back when I need a quick and cheap sushi happy hour!

Yelp
Love the decor of this restaurant. They had nice Japan murals and real flowers and vegetation. There's ample seating inside and the outside patio. Our server Riley was very friendly and attentive with our service. We ordered the crab bao buns and they were delicious! We also ordered the lobster and hotate rolls and they were very delicious as well. I love how much real crab meat they added on the lobster roll. The prices weren't bad considering the quality food. Luckily we went on a Sunday for early dinner otherwise I can see this place getting packed. It was already pretty full when we dined. Overall a very good dining experience.

Yelp
This place is great! DJ on a friday night was a full vibe and the patio is great. Came for birthday drinks only and they had a great sake menu! They even brought me a birthday shot with a firecracker in it. Too fun!

Yelp
We went here for a meal before a rave, as we got connected to the owners who are familiar with these events, which is reflective of the general vibe of the place and how they play a lot of EDM. Usually it is recommended that we make a reservation beforehand, but we were able to walk in without a wait when we showed up for NYE right at opening. We mostly tried sushi rolls (specialty rolls) as well as some nigiri and sashimi (mostly salmon and hamachi). Prices are pretty high, but the seafood was decently fresh despite Denver being a landlocked city. If you order multiple rolls, they arrange the rolls neatly in a large plate/board for a nice presentation. I particularly liked the Mizu roll as it had salmon but you can't really go wrong with any rolls here. However, portions are pretty small so you would end up spending $50+ a person if you want a decently filling dinner here. Rolls cost $16-26 here with a fancy roll at $45, which is very pricy for the city. Service is good as water refills were available throughout the meal. Overall, pretty solid spot, despite the geography that does not favor fresh seafood.

Yelp
Three thousand restaurants in Denver and I came here three nights in a row when I was in in town. Emily was the bartender two of the nights and she was great! Super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and a delight to talk to. The bar is a good bet. The food was exceptional. I tried the sushi, the appetizers, and had the shoyu ramen three nights in a row. They make a proper shoyu ramen with all the right toppings and a broth that's clean. Not too greasy. The noodles they chose...definitely the right noodles. Super chewy. Maki, the general manager, came by multiple times to check on everything and I'm so glad I came here to have dinner several nights in a row.

Yelp
Really like the layout and the openness of the restaurant. The servers and staff are really friendly! The food was really good I just wish the rice for the sushi and nigiri was seasoned a bit more. I really enjoyed the freshness and taste of the unagi & fatty tuna. Happy hour is awesome! I looooved the yuzu ube margarita, like I can't wait to come back specifically for this delicious drink! Overall I enjoyed it and look forward to coming back, if the rice was seasoned more it would be 5 stars and one of my fav nigiri spots.

Yelp
Delicious! Went for lunch with my co workers. The staff was super nice, good came out quick, fish tasted very fresh. Apparently they get fresh fish flown in on Thursday night so Friday is the freshest day to go

Yelp
Cool hip ambience, amazing service, fantastic food! We enjoyed everything from the nigori sake to the brussel sprout appetizer to the vegetable spring rolls to the hamachi jalapeño sashimi to the tonkatsu and miso ramen! Wow the plating was gorgeous and the flavors even better. Add a little chili oil to the ramen and it's on fire--perfectly cooked noodles in savory broth with tender slices of meat and flavorful egg! We were so satisfied there was no room for dessert!

Yelp
I came with a group on a Sunday night. Right away I noticed the cool decor and really liked the space. Our server was great and let us split the bill which we appreciated. It wasn't very busy, but it was noisy with loud music playing. It was also dark and we asked if they could turn up the light in our section, but the server said no because that's how the owner likes it. I enjoyed my food overall. I had the lobster skewers which I thought would be chunks of lobster, but it was still in the shell, so a little challenging to eat.

Yelp
Very good ramen. Fresh salmon. Also enjoyed the topping. With stopping in for a quick lunch

Yelp
Check out this great restaurant operated by my good friend. Awesome, knowledgeable and tentative service. Drinks are off the charts and food is amazing! Recommend any of their sushi rolls! Sizzling short ribs is amazing with some shrimp fried rice. Wonderful ambiance and great place to chill with some friend or night out on a date!

Yelp
We've had Mizu for both a regular dinner (sushi focused) and happy hour (apps and drinks focused). This review focuses mainly on the happy hour options. The vibes (decor, indoor/outdoor seating, ambiance) is great. For happy hour in the warm seasons, the inside is wide open to the patio and light streaming in against the dark decor is very vibey. At night, with low light, the restaurant is moody. The service is great - our servers and hostesses both times were really accommodating and warm. I had to take stars off the lackluster food. The yuzu ube margarita, hamachi jalapeno, and brussel sprouts were delicious. The chicken karaage had no flavor and seemed more grilled than fried. The "kobe beef" buns had only some thinly shredded beef that was pretty fatty (in the bad way, not in the melt in your mouth kobe way). The negima (chicken) skewers also had little flavor. Mizu still scratches the itch if you're looking for Japanese-inspired apps and with happy hour, the cost is worth it. If you're looking for truly delicious Japanese izakaya or sushi, there are other places in the city I would recommend.
google avatar

Kasia W.

Yelp
Very good spot! Service is amazing, great vibes overall! Miso soup - I like that they added little mushrooms Tokyo Roll - 100/10 one of my favorite rolls I've ever had Ramen - I only tried the broth because this was my friends but what I tried was VERY good, will come back for that Tuna Crispy Rice - 5/10 I liked that there were bigger chunks of tuna but the rice wasn't crispy enough which is a pet peeve of mine Sashimi Lollipop - Bomb, best cucumber wrapped roll I've ever had Nigiri assortment - all the fish was very fresh but the o-toro was not good at all, it was stringy and when I took a bite part of it had a weird texture (hard to describe) definitely not melt in your mouth buttery The uni I would also pass on, not the best for the price With that being said I'd highly recommend the salmon, yellowtail and albacore Overall a very good experience
google avatar

Haylee O.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour menu. Recommend the Brussels sprouts and spicy tuna rolls. Vegetable spring rolls were cut diaganol and a good light app. Will come back to try more drinks!

Mike D.

Yelp
Good food in a nice atmosphere but with a few improvements needed. Saturday afternoon with few customers inside and they have the overhead music blasting. It feels like dancehall. Music is so loud it's uncomfortable and hard to concentrate or carry on a conversation. The red miso ramen with pork & kimchi was very nice, except for the fact it was salted to an unhealthy level and we had trouble finishing the dish. Management needs some attention.
google avatar

Eda X.

Yelp
The interior design of Mizu Izakaya is stunning and definitely eye-catching. However, I wasn't as impressed by their rather bland nigiri pieces. I felt they could have added a bit more salt and other unique flavor pairings charging at the rate they do. I likely won't be returning.
google avatar

Gina K.

Yelp
Went here for a my husband's work dinner. Came on a Wednesday got reservations the morning of. The place was busy out on the patio but only a few occupied tables inside. The hamachi jalapeño dish and the pork belly buns were the more delicious items we had. The Tokyo roll and negiri pieces were good but not great, they had too much wasabi on them. Which over powered the fish. It is in a great location. We passed on dessert and headed to Little Man Ice Cream instead.
google avatar

Mai N.

Yelp
This place is really trendy and due to that, it attracted a younger crowd which seemed to take the staff's attention over me and a good friend having a moms night out dinner We really wanted to get dessert but at that point we were waiting so long and it was getting late and had to get back for our kids bedtime which we were really bummed about. Other than that, the food was good, I might just be too old (36 lol) and appreciate good service.
google avatar

Yelp
Heard about this place through a friend and I'm so happy I considered her recommendation! Walking in, I was already very impressed with the aesthetic of the room we were seated in. They had a perfect vibe for a date night. Dim lit and warm. Looking over the menu I was a bit overwhelmed with the incredible options they had! There is something for everyone here. Sushi and seafood lovers dream of a menu like this! Right away I was drawn to The High Roller, which consisted of lobster tempura, crab, and asparagus, topped with A5 Wagyu, caviar, and a gold flake. This AMAZING roll costs $45 but I'm here to tell you that it's worth every penny. Each bite blew my tastebuds away. The wagyu melted in my mouth and the surf and turf vibe was just incredible. I also enjoyed the salmon belly nigiri and toro nigiri! Both super fatty fish that melted in my mouth! Really wish I could travel back in time just so I could experience this meal again. If I find my way back to Colorado, I would 100% try my hardest to make it back here and will recommend this place highly to anyone I know. The service was also super hospitable and kind to us the entire time we were there! Love this place!

Yelp
For last New Year's eve, I decided to treat myself to a Nigiri Dinner delivery from Mizu. Definitely more fancy than my usual restaurants, and I worried about how it would travel, but honestly it was particularly impressive (and therefore the beginning of a couple more similar treat yourself type orders). The size of the set is actually quite filling, and I appreciated the attention to detail even in the miso soup which included some mushroom. The seaweed salad I ordered was also diverse in seaweed types and beautifully presented along with other vegetables. I finally got to Mizu in person the other day to try the izakaya style food during their happy hour, and it was a close to perfect experience. Excellent service, sexy ambiance, and tasty bites. The honey miso eggplant was excellent; probably one of my favorite dishes. And the cream pork kimchi was truly outstanding in a way I didn't entirely expect (the cream provides such an interesting contrast). I was less impressed with the Mizu roll (I wondered for awhile if it was actually the roll we ordered given the balance). But that said just a small preference thing. Definitely a great place to check out with friends who like to share or a fun date night spot. (Or of course, if you're having a day, there's always the delivery splurge!).
google avatar

Kammie G.

Yelp
The ambiance is really cool, it's a hopping place with a lot of young people. There's even a DJ that adds to the vibe. All of the people who work here also seem very nice and accommodating. However, the sushi is... not it. Granted, I come from San Diego CA, so my standard might be different. But for the price, this was still worse than the cheaper place in San Diego. The rolls were bland, tasteless, and the rice is sooo sticky and tightly packed. It just felt weird eating it, almost like chewing gum. It's just VERY tightly packed. Food wise, i wouldn't come back. Ambiance, yes.
google avatar

Lawrence K.

Yelp
Loved the sushi. The place is in great area, surrounded by some of our favorite casual and tasty spots. The waitress was a delight, the sushi was very, very, very tasty, the cocktails were on a weaker side but still ok. The birthday shot, though- absolutely delicious! We tried three different specialty rolls: rainbow, lohi, and Tokyo. We enjoyed them all but ended up ordering a second round of the Tokyo. It was so good. The gluten free options were clearly marked on the menu. Will come back again for sure!

Taylor F.

Yelp
Best sushi in Denver! Service was good and the atmosphere is really fun-there was a dj on a Saturday night. Parking is a little tricky but it's in a trendy spot. Lychee martinis were delish and there's many other drink options too!
google avatar

Mara B.

Yelp
I went here for the first time on Friday night. I immediately noticed it was quite loud as soon as you walked in. Someone was actually trying to move from the bar area to the back of the restaurant due to the music being too loud. I am not old by any means, but it made it difficult to have conversations over dinner with the volume of the music even if it is vibey. We ordered miso soup and sushi. Our server made some recommendations, some of which we ordered. I enjoyed the crunchy spicy tuna on the cold menu. The Kobe roll was also so delicious. The third roll we ordered was the spider roll, and that was honestly not the best spider roll I've ever had. I don't know if I would go back considering the volume. I might do a takeout order from here in the future, but I don't think it's the right vibe for me. However, I think it is absolutely a great place and someone else's vibe for sure.
google avatar

Cici V.

Yelp
Tokyo roll and shrimp tempura roll were both amazing. I've never had a shrimp tempura roll with lettuce before but I'm not mad at it!
google avatar

Hailey M.

Yelp
Food was great, atmosphere was really cool, service was the downfall. The food was great, oyters were probably the best part of the meal. The best way to describe the restaurant would be "great food, but let's try other places before coming back"

Christina M.

Yelp
Very good vibes!! I would not say this place is good for sushi. It did not taste fresh and made my stomach hurt afterwards. However, this place is very lively and has great service. This would be a good place to have drinks before going out!

Kimberly D.

Yelp
This place has great sushi! Food is very good however, service this time around was not as great. I went there for my birthday dinner. It was just me and my boyfriend. Not a group of people. The waiter took our food order, and we told him that we would decide on drinks when he comes back. It took him awhile to come back. He only came back with our food and we never saw him until the end. We saw him check on all of the tables, except for ours. We wanted to order drinks and dessert. After all. It was a celebration. But by the end, I was just tired of waiting.
google avatar

Erika P.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere, definitely the best part in my opinion. We came here looking for some good ramen and discovered that it's mostly a sushi restaurant, but they still had a good selection of noodles and other entrees. My boyfriend and I had a lot of fun trying a couple sakes as well since they had quite a varied selection. I will definitely come back to try some sushi as it looked so good on the tables around us. But anyway, back to the ramen... I was very satisfied with the ramen. It wasn't the best ramen I've ever had, but for a sushi place I was delightfully surprised at the great flavors in the shoyu ramen. It was a very rich and flavorful broth; unlike the tonkatsu my boyfriend got which was more expensive and in my opinion, a bit bland. The savory umami flavor was perfect for a cool summer night. The chashu pork was tough, but all the other ingredients were good in a traditional bowl of ramen. One bowl was the perfect portion to fill me up, but not so much that I couldn't split a mochi desert after. They have a bunch of different mochi flavors, so I was really disappointed that we couldn't mix and match them. It was standard mochi, but it satisfied our dessert needs so we didn't have to wait in the long line at little man ice cream across the street...
google avatar

Cristina S.

Yelp
Decided to check out a recommended sushi experience for dinner. We walked in and the place is pumping with great energy and fun decor. The staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We had the kobe beef skewers, the Chilean sea bass dish and sushi's included Alaskan, spicy tuna, spicy salmon and Tokyo. Everything was served on time and beautifully presented. If you have a sushi craving this is a great spot to check out when in Denver.
google avatar

Renaye V.

Yelp
The restaurant is very pretty, the bar is inviting, and the service is prompt. She wasn't the most warm and friendly server but she was efficient. We ordered a lot of sushi to try, I didn't like any of it. To me and the rest of my party we agreed the seaweed wrappers tasted fishy and they were very tough to bite into. I've Never tasted anything like that and we are avid sushi eaters. The best thing we got were the spring rolls on the happy hour menu. Things are pricey so make sure to go for their happy hour if you want to sample a few items. We got there early and found lots of street parking. No meters just 2 hour max.
google avatar

Connor S.

Yelp
This is the third sushi place I have tried since I moved to Denver, I got the shrimp tempura roll, the Hotate Roll, and the chicken/pork gyoza. Sushi was fantastic and so was the gyoza. The restaurant itself was cool. Great music and decorations, really felt upscale for the price point. My one concern was the service. We sat for a while before anyone came over to our table and throughout the evening just felt like we were "forgotten". Maybe it was short staffed that night as there are a lot of great reviews, but that was the only thing id think about before going back. Maybe I would just sit at the sushi bar. Overall a good place though!
google avatar

Giana P.

Yelp
Wow it felt like a club and restaurant at the same time! Perfect spot to go for dinner before going out. We loved the sushi & the DJ played great music. Definitely need a reservation!
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night (recommend making a reservation early in advice if you're planning on going during the weekend) and as soon soon as we walked in, it was busy and the waitline was long. A little frustrated with the waiting room as everyone was standing, unable to figure out who had checked in or not. However, we got offered 3 options of where we would like to seat as our table was directly in front of the DJ which our host mentioned it gets loud throughout the night. So we had the option to sit outside with heaters which was great and had no complaints being the middle of winter. Our server was great and we were later informed that our server will change which we appreciated. We got a variety of sushi which was served on a big platter for everyone to share. I recommend this place to anywhere wanting to do a birthday dinner, friends visiting outside of state or simply wanting to have a good night as it gets rowdy with a DJ inside after a certain time. It is a bit in the pricer side but they do have a happy hour from 4-6 if you want to check it out at a reasonable price!
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
My opinions on this place definitely shift each time I go in. A week day happy hour can be a wonderful experience. Turning the place into a night club during dinner on the weekends?.. not so great. Especially when you can barely hear your neighbor. Is it family friendly? Could be depending on day/time. The food is a little overpriced in my opinion but I suppose most things are these days. The Mizu Lobster roll is awesome and the Mango Tango is pretty good as well! The salmon entree had bones in it, so beware! They are able to split check which is nice for a group.

Yelp
We were invited to a birthday party, so coming here was effortless, but the parking was concerning. Apparently we were lucky and parked in front, but most of the time this area can be tricky for parking. The staff was very pleasant to interact with and since we had a big group, we were required to have our own tabs. At the end of our meal, we were not presented an itemized bill, just the total on their wireless digital payment gadget, and when I asked for one, I got the "seriously you going to ask me for one" look. Anyways, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being charged for others in this chaotic party. Aside from that, the food was amazing, I just ordered things I knew I'd like, Grilled Whole Squid, Rainbow Roll, and a few drinks. The table already had Edamame as well. The squid was properly grilled with ample and delicious seasoning. The roll was bigger than average with fresh sushi and not overwhelming with mayo inside the California roll. I went with Japanese themed drinks, an old fashioned and highball. Also ordered sparking sake, which seemed to elude us until we dined here, as most restaurants don't carry the sparking variant. Decor and ambience is on the hip side and definitely a place to see and be seen.

Yelp
Super fun vibes here at Mizu in LoHi! Wanted to love it but missed the mark a little bit. All the food is served Izakaya style, which allowed for us to enjoy our time together over drinks and our food. The shishito peppers were good, felt like they were lacking in flavor with the sauce that came with them. Ordered both the Spider Roll and the LoHi Roll, both delish! Additionally, we LOVED the jalapeño hamachi sashimi, which was served alongside grapefruit. We unfortunately didn't get our drinks until about halfway through our service, we watched them sit on the bar for about 15 minutes. Mind you, it was just beer and a glass of wine- no fancy cocktails! Server was inattentive due to it being the end of her shift. Our sashimi and nigiri order was messed up with a few of the nigiri coming as sashimi and they had no intention of fixing this for us. Disappointed in the service by the wait staff and felt as though we overpaid for the lack in service. Enjoyed most of the food but will likely go elsewhere in the future.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night and got seated promptly. However, our server was not very friendly or welcoming. Between my boyfriend and I, we shared the 14 piece nigiri omakase and the uni udon. The sushi wasn't very fresh and it had a mushy texture to it that we weren't fans of. We didn't finish it. The uni carbonara on the other hand, was great. There was a decent amount of uni in it and the dish was creamy, but not too heavy where the flavor of the uni is lost. A couple of other friends at the table got the duck ramen. I can't speak to it personally since I didn't try it, but they said it was okay. I would pass on this place as the service wasn't the greatest and the sushi tasted old. But if there's one thing to get here, it's the uni carbonara.

Yelp
I was looking for a sushi spot with great ambience that was open for lunch on the weekend...and Yelp came to the rescue with Mizu Izakaya! Not only did they have fresh and tasty sushi but also a variety of other menu items. My husband and I were in an adventurous mood and we'd likely go more classic on our next visit but it was fun to try new things. The octopus cakes were not really our cup of tea and we prefer the standard seaweed salad we've had elsewhere. However, the kobe beef and spicy tuna rolls were so good. Service at the bar was quick, friendly and eager to help with any questions. There appeared to be a number of japanese whiskey options behind the bar too which we may have to sample in the future! Even though we aren't from Denver, the close proximity to I-25 makes it easy to return for a night on the town.

Yelp
WOW this place is incredible! Stopped in for a good NY Day dinner and was not disappointed. We ordered a ton of rolls, had great service (our server helped us pick out so many signature rolls and was very attentive to our preferences). I love so many types of sushi but spicy tuna always ends up being my favorite. We also ordered the spicy edamame which had such a great flavor from their chili crunch!

Yelp
Happy Hour was worth it! The ube margarita was to die for! We got Spicy Tuna,Shrimp Roll,Kobe Beefs Buns, Avocado Roll, and Kimchi Pork Ramen! The rolls were simple but were packed with flavor. My favorite things were the Kobe beef buns and kimchi pork ramen! They both had wonderful textures and unique taste! The ambience was perfect and service was top notch!

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday evening and it was not very busy. There was a large group in the bar, some families and some other two or threesomes but a lot of empty tables. Server was a little awkward and standoffish but attentive enough. I asked for some recommendations or opinions on menu items and he wasn't super helpful but not a major issue. I got the ramen which was good. Not the absolute best I've ever had but it hit the spot on a rainy day. My friends got several rolls of sushi and we were all impressed with the presentation and the size of the rolls. We also got drinks and were all impressed with the fun presentation, and they tasted good! I'd recommend this spot if you are looking for a fun, casual spot that feels a little more upscale.

Yelp
The vibe here is always on point! On the weekends, it has a clubby vibe but on a Sunday night, it was mellow and casual. We ordered so much sushi! A stand out for us was the roasted duck (see the picture) plus so much sushi! Their fried chicken was fantastic and their gyoza is unmissable! For our drinks, their Japanese old fashioned may be the best one I've had in a long time plus their espresso martini is top tier. The service was good but not amazing. However, the food was so good that I'm still giving them five stars!

Yelp
Best happy hour in Denver! I visited on a Friday around 5:15pm and made reservations but they had plenty of tables available. The happy hour runs from 4-6pm Monday to Friday so we had plenty of time to check it out. The happy hour menu and prices was the best I've seen in Denver! Almost everything we ordered came from there because it was so good. Our table ordered the ube margaritas ($7) and Sapporo drafts ($5) to drink. The margs were a beautiful purple! For food, we shared the vegetable spring rolls ($5), spicy tuna roll x2 ($7), hamachi sashimi ($9) and crispy tuna rice. The sashimi and crispy tuna were my favorites. Since it was beautiful out, we enjoyed dining on the covered patio. The atmosphere and service were amazing. I can't wait to come back here!
