"Mofu (once a former food truck) does trend a bit more Pan-Asian, but the dumplings are grounded in Chinese tradition and well worth the visit. The pork and chive dumplings are the backbone of the whole menu — order double. The twice-cooked pork belly and bao buns on the small plates menu are also great choices — the buns come with a choice of fried flounder, pork belly, or tofu. Vegans will appreciate the dumplings made with Impossible Meat. The dan dan noodles, also delicious, tweak the classic rendition a bit by using a curried pork sauce instead of the traditional ground pork." - Matt Lardie

Stopped in here my first time by myself for lunch and had a great experience. Great aesthetic inside and I had friendly attentive service. They had an old fashioned variation on the menu so I gave it a try. Great drink a little sweeter than I typically prefer but well balanced with the fruit. On the server’s recommendation I ordered the corn curry with chicken. Delicious. A lovely yellow coconut curry with lots of veg still holding texture and the chicken was cooked perfectly. There was lots of other interesting dishes on the menu so I’m going to need to get back to MOFU try more food and add to this review. :)

Google
The staff was incredible, kind and made my birthday dinner a fabulous experience. Drew the server was amazing! They served a cake we brought and they made sure we had a great time. The cocktails were also very good. However, the food was just bad. my pork belly bowl was completely flavorless, the rice mushy and over cooked and the not even salt on the pork belly. i didn't finish it. my friend had bao buns that were also flavorless, a little spicy mayo and one of the buns didn't have the seasoning on top. another friend got the noodle bowl and the whole thing tasted like simple tomato sauce, no variety of flavor. Overall this seems like just another one of those places you pay a lot of money for the ambiance and vibes to make up for lackluster food.

Google
EDITED: so my first review was bc I walked in wanted to get food before we went to a show at Lincoln theater and they just ignored us. PLEASE make a reservation. I did today and had the most amazing food. I went with a group and we shared everything. All my friends said I made a great decision and want to come back. My favorite was the Mac and cheese even though I don’t like cheese. The pork belly and dumplings are always a great go to. If u can’t try it all then u will have to come back. I tried it all and will still come back. Saying all that I wish the hostess would have told me to make a reservation

The pork & chive dumplings are a must! The shaved beef noodle bowl was a little spicy and packed with flavor. The coconut curry bowl with chicken has kick, but is sooo tasty! Our favorite dessert is the Vietnamese coffee mousse - so light & decadent!

Google
We really enjoyed our meal here! The environment is nice, the service was good, and the food was phenomenal. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. We had a group of 5 friends sharing so we could try more options, which worked out great. I recommend the dumplings, beef tartare, Mongolian beef, beef Bulgogi, and pork belly bowl!

Google
This is my second time here. The food is amazing! During my first visit I tried the fish bao buns, crispy Brussel sprouts, beef bulgogi dumplings. My second visit I got the wings… the sweet chili and the lime glaze ( THE BEST IN DOWNTOWN RALEIGH). I also got the Mongolian beef rice bowl. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves to expand their taste buds and have a love for Asian cuisine.

Google
Easy 5 across the board. And I am picky. Pro: - service (Drew F. was fantastic, super nice to my kid, and even made the house lemonade sweeter for him at request) - food quality amazing - menu variety - pork belly (omfg) - my kid is a picky eater and still demolished the chicken wings. - all the dumplings! - amazing beers on tap Con: - Dan Dan noodles (not bad, but just not at the same level as everything else) This is a definite repeat every time we go to Marbles up the road! Marbles > mofu > ice cream

Google
Went as group of 2. Impossible & Chive Dumplings -> Surprisingly delicious. Twice cooked pork belly -> Flavour Burst at the bite. Dan Dan Style Noodles -> Comfy and Sumptuous Coconut Corn Curry w/ Tofu -> Perfect Spice and Refreshing Yo-Tia Bread -> Plum sauce was amazing. Vietnamese Coffee Mouse -> Best level of Coffee in Dessert

Yelp
Everything was delicious! We ordered both version of dumplings and wife and I couldn't decide which one we liked more. Also ordered the pork belly bao buns and both agreed was one of the best we had. Pork belly was super crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The entrees were very good. Shaved beef noodles were tender and flavorful and wife loved her fried rice. Good amount of spice but not over powering. Definitely coming back here!

Yelp
We were first blown away with the ambiance. Felt like we stepped into another world. We were seated quickly. We went around 7pm on a Saturday. I'm not sure if we got lucky or not but we were able to walk right in and get seated. They do take reservations. The staff was very nice and helpful 100% of the time. My niece was with us and while they do not have a kids menu, they were prepared to concoct something that she would enjoy. Luckily, thanks to youtube, she has been wanting to try dumplings and enjoyed the Chicken & Garlic Wontons. She loved them. The food overall was delicious. They brought out an abundance of sauces and that is always a win for me because I'm the sauce Queen. I'm not sure about parking because we parked at the place we originally came downtown for earlier in the day. I did not see easy parking close by, just street parking. I recommend this restaurant for date night, trying something new, or girls night. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
we were going to a show nearby and wanted a good place for dinner with friends so decided to try MOFU. It's an asian-fusion restaurant with small plates and mains - we each got a couple of different things to try. most were good, some were alright. we got the kimchi tots, the mofu seasonal salad, the pork belly, the wings, beef tartare, and the beef noodle soup. we also got drinks. standouts were the salad, the wings, and the pork belly. the tots were alright and the noodle soup was not good. drinks were good and the service was great

Genevieve L.

Yelp
First off don't get confused by the name... this is a restaurant lol. Service was great-ask for Spencer. What a great server! Food was delicious. Tried all the dumplings except the "impossible" ones but appreciate having that option available. Stars of the show and must haves were the chicken satay so moist and tasty, Brussel sprouts were prob the best I've ever had, and dumplings were all so tasty. Runner ups worth mentioning but may not order again were the mofu chicken wings and crispy pork belly. Would not order again was the white pepper chicken. Dessert Vietnamese coffee mousse was interesting and not too sweet but def worth trying. I would definitely come back if I'm in Raleigh again

Yelp
On a busy first Friday night in downtown Raleigh, we decided to have dinner at Mofu Shoppe! There was a 35-40 minute wait for a table for 2 (we didn't make a reservation), so we opted to sit at the last 2 seats at the bar! It took a little time for one of the awesome bar tenders to wait on us, but it's understandable for a super busy Friday night. It's a super cute vibe. There's even a little upstairs balcony looking seating area. I really liked the vibe here. The service was pretty good to top it off! My daughter had been here before and surprisingly it was my first time. Since she had decided to come here again, I let her order. She ordered us several shareable to share :) The Beef Bulgogi Dumplings were absolutely amazing. It came with an even more yummy kimchi bbq sauce for dipping. The Kimchi tots were amazing, such an amazing flavor profile. On to the Mofu Wings, they have a few flavors, we ordered the Thai Chili, soooo delicious. And lastly the Crispy Brussels w/ Fried Tofu. The Brussels were delicious. I was literally dancing in my seat the food was so good. If you know me, I hardly ever give 5's. I give glowing 4's, but 5's are rare. I'll be dreaming about this food until I go back next.

Yelp
Incredible! Delish food, great service, terrific menu. We adored the chicken ginger wontons and the flounder bao- great portions, too. What a wonderful place to eat!

Yelp
Decent Asian option downtown. The menu is what initially drew me in for the uniqueness of some dishes. The inside is really nice, decor isn't the cheesy "asian inspired" randomness, but more of a nice modern touch of Asia. Started off with the Mofu Wings with the nuoc mam sauce - the chicken was fried nicely but the nuoc mam was too sweet opposed to the anticipated prevalence of fish sauce flavor. Also ordered the Minced Pork Stir Fry with the canton noodles - reminded me of a Dan Dan inspired dish but the meat was different, in a good way. The only gripe was it was too salty. Overall, service was good and was fun to see they were hosted what looked like a dinner club or something while we were dining there. Would come back and try other dishes.

Yelp
The food was great! But our server was the worst!!! She provided us very poor service. She had an attitude and was not helpful at all with answering questions. I thought my order was missing an item and when I questioned her it appeared as though I was troubling her. She had a smirk on her face and spilled water on me as she filled it half ass without an apology. African American female with blonde dreads thank you for such a poor service that I won't be returning.

Daniel K.

Yelp
Always take people here when they're visiting from out of town and always order half the menu! We always order most of the dumplings (except the impossible and chive since that's just not our jam). Our favorite was the chicken skewers. Normally at other places I don't find this dish special but the chicken was perfectly cooked and the accompanying sauce paired excellently with it. And our server Spencer sat down and critiqued our photos!

Jess M.

Yelp
Disappointed unfortunately. The dumplings were brought out so quickly but when it came to taste, they were dry and lacking the bulgogi flavors expected. The other main dishes Shanghai beef and beef with noodles were also not exciting or inspiring, quite dry meat and nothing to write home about. The bell peppers tasted fresh, but definitly overpriced americam asian styled dish. Didnt real taste authentic asian at all. Our waiter was not attentive to us like he didn't refill water, I went and asked someone else for it, and he was kind of MIA a lot, but had such a great spirit of joy when he did come around to us....Definitely not the most kid Friendly with no changing table and their front entrance has stairs (you come around the side for the ramp access fyi, I figured it out but no one thought to share that info as I'm navigating a massive stroller lol).... all in a an ok place and food. The vibe is hip and cool.

Santana B.

Yelp
Great service from Andrew!! He was so attentive and made ordering recommendations. The food was great!

Shedrick D.

Yelp
This place was everything reviews stated!!!! The ambience was on point and service was excellent . Wings was fried to perfection and the wontons was best I have. Do yourself a favor and get all the sauces on the side.

Esther N.

Yelp
The food is great but overpriced because their portions are way too small and the service was terrible. I will not visit again. My side dishes did not come with my main meal. Had to ask for my drink. Waitress and hostess acted stuck up.

Stacy Y.

Yelp
Always a treat! I love that they have a revolving menu, so it's nice to try something new! We love sitting at the bar and sharing a dish or two! The "dumps and noods" never disappoint!

Bryce G.

Yelp
Food was good and service Wings half and half Chicken dumplings Beef dumplings Moscow mule Spicy margaritas

Martin H.

Yelp
This was a great experience. Will return to complete review. Great food. Good service. Excellent cocktails too.

Amanda W.

Yelp
MOFU Dumpling Shoppe slapped. Crispy wings were on point, especially the sweet chili. The shaven beef noodles had just the right spice, and the lo mein was solid. The Little Heart drink was a must-have - sweet with a buzz. Pork and chive dumplings were good, but I'll try a new flavor next time. Love the vibe outside city market!

Atayal T.

Yelp
Was super excited to come here after seeing their menu online - I'm a sucker for some delicious dumplings and good Asian food. I'd say overall the experience was okay: the ambiance of the restaurant itself was cool and moody, but the food didn't quite hit the mark for me. We got the kimchi tots to share and those were good. The tots were perfectly crunchy with a layer of kimchi and spicy mayo on top. I wish that the kimchi had some bigger pieces, since it was really chopped up and you didn't get any large slices of napa. We were also debating on getting dumplings and ended up getting one order of the pork and chive dumplings. The menu doesn't really state whether the dumplings were steamed, pan-fried, or deep fried, and I think that would be a good addition since we were hoping for steamed, but they were pan-fried. With only five dumplings for $12, it's steep pricing. The dumplings were fine, your standard filling with a good crunch on the skin. It came with two dipping sauces that were definitely needed, since the filling by itself didn't have much flavor. For my entree, I got the Taiwanese Bolognese. It sounded delicious on the menu, but the flavor wasn't quite there for me. I wished the Penang curry paste sauce was thicker to coat the noodles more, since all the sauce sank to the bottom. Also not sure why this dish was called a Taiwanese Bolognese when there were no Taiwanese flavors in it - Penang curry paste is primarily used in Thai cuisine.

Vraj P.

Yelp
My friends and I made reservations for this place after hearing lots of great things about it. We got the kimchi tots to share and I got the Thai Basil Noodles for myself. The tots were absolutely wonderful and a great flavor profile between 2 different cuisines. The Thai Basil Noodles were okay. Definitely lacked spice but can always ask for chili oil or siracha on the side. My friends got the dumplings but you only get 5 for $12 which we did not think were worth it especially after trying them since they were not anything special. I'm inside atmosphere was really cool. Lots of open space and a good bar as well as a good drink selection. Staff was friendly as well and pretty helpful. Prices were decently priced except for the dumplings. Overall, a good location and pretty decent food. Will likely come back one day if there are new vegetarian options added to the menu.

Maria Alejandra R.

Yelp
Definitely a nice ambiance for date night or girls night. Great service. And Food was DELICIOUS!!! Got the Tom yum Mac, SHAVED BEEF NOODLES, COCONUT CORN CURRY, BEEF BULGOGI DUMPLINGS. 10/10 recommend and would visit again!

Jess L.

Yelp
YES finally a dumpling spot you can count on! You will not regret going here, getting a ton of stuff, splitting it, and leaving full. Pretty much everything we had was incredible but make sure to get the twice cooked pork belly - TRULY insane, I am still thinking about it. Sweet, crispy, buttery, GET IT. We got all the dumplings with protein and I loved them all. The chicken and ginger is a wonton so it's crispy fried and crunchy, incredible. The pork and chive have a great sauce and was so savory. My fave was the bulgogi but I mean bulgogi is just an unfair comparison. GET TO MOFU AND THANK ME LATER!

Melissa Z.

Yelp
I love the fact that this place has vegan options that aren't just tofu versions of various meats. That's what makes this place unique. They have food that is delicious, flavorful, and for everyone! This is a cute restaurant in downtown Raleigh and you have to park on the street. I would say it is a little overpriced, but otherwise the food was great. We got the kimchi tots without kimchi, shrimp fried rice, impossible thai basil noodles, and impossible dumplings. We got our food to-go but it was still hot, rich in flavor, and satisfying. Our top item was the impossible dumplings! These were amazing, you would've thought it was real meat inside and we loved the sauce it came with too. The tots were good- we loved the dipping sauces and the noodles were great as well with a generous portion of the impossible meat. I thought the beef was tender and delicious, however my piece was full of fat. It came with amazing mashed potatoes too but they were overpowered by the onion relish (?) that was on top of them and kinda ruined them. I would not get the shrimp fried rice again because as a person who loves fried rice this was not tasty to me and it was very lackluster. However, there is so many menu options and because of the quality of everything else we had I would definitely be back to try the fish curry, fish tacos, chicken wings, and more!

Daphne R.

Yelp
Found this place just by chance. Was feeling for some Asian food and I am glad I came across this fusion fest. Food is unorthodox but does carry some of the familiar Asian palates. This applies to their cocktails too. Food is pretty pricy but will fill you up. The staff here makes you feel welcomed. The chef accommodated to our food preferences as well. 5/5 for service. The place felt clean and classy. There are 2 stories but we stayed on the bottom floor. I'd want to come here again.

Riyona A.

Yelp
Hidden gem. We found this place while walking to the park downtown. The menu posted outside seemed delicious, but they were packed. Decided to finally check it out and it did NOT disappoint. The pork belly bites were EVERYTHING. Honestly I enjoyed every item we ate, but those were my favorite. We also tried the short ribs, dumplings, chicken satay and fried rice. The drinks were also delicious. The service was fast and the food was good. Overall win.

Brian L.

Yelp
I was incredibly disappointed with the quality of the food here. After having seen some of the reviews and photos for this place, I was pretty excited to try it out. We ordered takeout and got the Thai Basil, Kimchi Tots, and the Smoked Pork Belly Bowl. All of which unfortunately were disappointing. The thai basil noodles were undercooked, there were some noodles that were stiff and a bit chewy, and some that were completely soggy. The sauce didn't sit well and only covered some of the noodles, leaving the dish half salty and the other half bland. The smoked pork belly was fine by most standards, but I was hoping to get a bit more flavor out of it. The plate as a whole was fairly bland, with most of the flavor coming from the sweet vegetables. The kimchi tots were by far the biggest disappointment. First of all they did not come with any kimchi? You can reference my photo if you would like, but there was no kimchi to be spotted anywhere. It came with little pork bits, but they were very dry and hard and didn't do much to add to the tots. Overall I was hoping for a lot more from this place, don't really recommend it.

Yelp
Guys, MOFU is the spot. We have been trying to visit new places in Raleigh once a month and this visit happened to be for our anniversary. When we made the reservation it asked if we were visiting for a special occasion and my husband indicated that it was our anniversary. The staff rolled out the red carpet for us on this visit. Every staff member that we encountered wished us a happy anniversary and we were sat at a very intimate spot in the restaurant. They were attentive and made excellent suggestions. Food was excellent. We ordered shareable plates and had just enough within a reasonable price range. Double fried pork belly just melts in your mouth. Brussels sprouts were unbelievable and I noticed that it came with croutons but after further inspection of the menu they were actually fried tofu, we couldn't believe it. Dumplings are amazing; we favored the pork and chive. Wings are out of this world. Next time we go we will probably split a plate and try a few new shareable plates, but either way we know it will be delicious. If I had to nit pick, I wish they had a wider selection of beers on tap, not just IPA's. Either way there is something for everyone! Oh, ask for the yuzu Prosecco. WOW, WOW, WOW. Such a great experience!

Julia W.

Yelp
Mofu Shoppe has a beautifully decorated and relaxed ambiance inside. The service was great and we got our food in a reasonable amount of time. We started with a Thai Basil drink, kimchi tots, and the Mofu wings. These were DELICIOUS, I don't think I've had such tender and well seasoned wings in a long time. The kimchi tots were one of my favorite dishes - the kimchi paired so well with the saltiness of the tater tots. The white pepper chicken was a special they had and was also great - it reminded me of Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The coconut curry was alright, we wished it had more rice to go with it. Unfortunately, the dish that didn't stand out was the tofu plate. I ordered it in replacement of the smoked pork belly it came with, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. It was a dry dish that I wish had more sauce and/or seasoning. The pickled daikon and carrot was a great addition though. Overall, I would come back for drinks and their great appetizers. Excited to try more of them!

Yelp
I heard so much about MOFU shoppe over the last two years, and finally decided to give it a go with my wife for a date night. We both came out of the experience generally satisfied with the food, but also underwhelmed by the service. A mixed bag, though more positive than negative by the end of the night. If there were such thing as half ratings on Yelp, it would be a totally solid 3.5. The date night started off with us being seated late despite having a reservation. Typically, no biggie. I am a very low maintenance guy, and I always give a HUGE benefit of the doubt to most places that I go to. It usually takes multiple mistakes during an outing for me to determine an experience should be a firm 3 star or lower rating, and I can back that up by the fact that the majority of my reviews are 4 or 5 stars. I always make a strong effort to only remove multiple stars based on consecutive poor efforts that truly have an affect on my experience, and that goes for the highest end places, or McDonalds, it doesn't matter. My criteria is always the same. We were seated after about 20 minutes of waiting with a reservation, but where they lost me is the fact that they didn't promptly come give us menus or even apologize about the wait despite there being tables available. Once we ordered our wine, it took an additional 15 minutes for them to bring it out. So, from entering the restaurant to getting our first drink order took about 35 minutes for a place that was not even in peak hours yet. Now here's the thing, all of the food delivered! For a place that is rated 4.5 stars and had this much hype behind it, I started genuinely worrying that we were in for an all around poor experience, but once the food started coming out, the night was definitely redeemed. The chicken wings and tots were fantastic and the perfect appetizers. We then ordered sticky short ribs, Thai basil noodles, and dumplings, all of which were delicious, but it's the dumplings that stole the show! The short ribs were good but surprisingly the most "average" plate of the night. All in all, night saved by the food. I still feel the need to properly rate this experience because it definitely started off rocky, but I don't believe my singular experience should deter you from giving it a try yourself. I even remember speaking to my wife after the meal, and we both said we were willing to give the place another shot. It's very possible we were here on an understaffed day, or one in which they had an off customer service day, but it's definitely forgivable due to the food living up to the hype. Verdict: MOFU Shoppe offers a unique fusion flavor, with a very cozy atmosphere, and a good selection of drinks, but underwhelming service .. at least during our initial visit. The experience was more positive than negative, so we will be back! Rating: 3.5

Yelp
Don't sleep on this spot!! My crew and I stop by here on our venture out to downtown during First Friday- quick seating to the bar which was actually pretty great. As we know with more than 3 the bar is a difficult way to hold a convo, so I'd recommend getting there earlier. We started off with the B-Side 75 and a Thai Basil Ricky (not pictured)- the B-Side paired well with the dumplings and the Thai Basil was so refreshing! Please, get the Kimchi tots and the Pork Chive dumplings the basil pops and the dumpling skins aren't overall thick and the filling ratio is fantastic. The kimchi tots I wish there was more kimchi, but that's because I love tang and bitter tastes :) Any who I'll recommend this to anyone and everyone; and bring back my friends for a stellar experience.

Jenn C.

Yelp
Was a fun little spot, small menu, but good food!!! See pics. I was with a pretty big party, so I was more involved with my conversations & was in a corner of the table so I couldn't see much of what was going on. Here ya go!!

Danielle O.

Yelp
I came here a few days ago per suggestion by my celiac sister. She came her a couple months ago with some friends and while she can only eat one dish on the menu, she loved it; however, this time when we went is the reason there is one star docked. She can only have this pork belly rice bowl but she substitute chicken as she doesn't eat pork. When she got her food, she said it was different than the last time. The chicken wasn't grilled nicely and as flavorful as the last and lots of the chicken had undesired chewy texture. She also had multiple egg shells in her dish which made her feel sick and not want to keep eating. So the star is docked for the inconsistency in the kitchen and for the obvious poor meal on behalf of my sister. Aside from that ! The rest of us were fortunate to enjoy our whole meals. I didn't personally try everything I have pictures of but I had the fried rice. It was good flavor, especially with the red sauce that comes with the pork dumplings. Only downside to this, was I also had a few chewy pieces of chicken. The pork dumplings were AMAZING. wow, we loved them. So delicious with the sauces too. I also had the mandu dumplings and they were also good with the sauce they came with, but not as good standing alone or with other sauces. They really needed the specific sauce to compliment it and when dipped with the pozu like sauce, it wasn't good. Obviously, I understand things are paired for a reason but wanted to put it out there in case people only like the specific sauces! I also really loved the corn ribs. Like wow, those had so much flavor. The short ribs were okay, didn't taste like anything special to me. Our server was a great server too and she was very friendly. I'd say the food seemed a bit high in price for some things that you get. I think the dumplings are a bit overpriced even though very good, or they could at least not be all the same price? As the mandu was a lot less than the pork and chive.

Eboni S.

Yelp
Went here for lunch with my sister - did not disappoint. We tried some pork dumplings and MOFU wings for appetizers. Shared a bowl of the Dan Dan noodles. Those were absolutely the star! It had more of a BBQ taste to it, which we weren't expecting. We LOVED it. Honestly, everything we ordered was spot on. Would definitely bring others here. Service was a bit slow, surprisingly. We were one of 3-4 tables occupied, so I don't know why our waitress was so hard to track down. Other than that, it was top notch. Ambiance is modern and laid back. Definitely a vibe.

Sophie K.

Yelp
Don't know why this place is rated as highly as it is. Food was okay, but certainty could have been better, and was overpriced for how it tasted. FOOD: We got several things and shared. My favorite was the Bulgogi dumplings ($10), perhaps second favorite were the Pork and Chive dumplings ($9). For mains, we got the Thai Basil Noodles ($14), but honestly would rather just go get drunken thai noodles. The Mofu Wings ($13) and Popcorn Shroom ($9) were just okay. Dan Dan Noodles ($13) were definitely underwhelming For dessert we shared the Vietnamese Coffee Mouse ($7), which was tasty. AMBIANCE: Pretty cute. We sat at the bar, but I found myself really wishing the bar stools had backs. Good vibes, not too fancy. SERVICE: Okay. It took us a little while to flag down our waitress to order food after we got drinks. OVERALL: Very meh. Wouldn't come back.

Jake C.

Yelp
Great Asian food in Raleigh! Service was fast and friendly. Diverse food options for dinner and dessert. Unique cocktail blends. Trendy vibe with nice window seats.

Linda H.

Yelp
Our server (Brittany) was horrible. We waited over 10 min to even be approached and it was by another server (Gracie) who apologized even tho it wasn't her table. She put in drink orders for us and we waited and waited for Brittany to come and take our order. When she did arrive she seemed totally out of it. She never returned to ask how the food was or if we needed anything. We had to flag her down to order another round of drinks. Double cooked pork belly, kimchi tots and Brussels were our favorites. Steak tartar was bland. We just moved in across the street. Lots of great places in the area... not sure we would come back. I don't enjoy restaurants that the servers act like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. Overall the food is good... not great. Not worth the hassle.

Alexis B.

Yelp
This restaurant has potential to be good and maybe it was the day that we stopped by that made it very underwhelming. Most of the food was lacking flavor. Almost like things were under seasoned. We had an order of chicken dumplings, chicken curry, and beef noodle soup. The curry was the worst of the 3. I would recommend the packaged curry from the store over the curry offered here. We did receive good service and when I brought up that the food wasn't very good they offered to remake it. The remade version tasted the same. The restaurant did comp the curry so I will likely come back to try other foods mainly the dumplings.

Yelp
Hubby and I were super excited to visit MOFU Shoppe, a chic Asian fusion eatery and try their popular delicious chicken wings. The waitress was nice and restaurant had a lovely aesthetic. While the food was all delicious, it definitely had a unique take on classic Asian dishes. Probably most disappointed by the fact that lobster fried rice was no longer on the menu although the Dan Dan noodles were also a bit confusing and lacking in the traditional chili sauce common to dandanmien. I would highly recommend the Mofu chicken though and their Kimchi tots.

Yelp
Decided to check this place out after having it recommended by a friend. Made reservations in advance on a Tuesday evening (only about two parties and right up to the time we left the restaurant had filled up more). We decided to start off with the wings and did half and half for the sauce which I must say was delicious! The spicy chili and honey were definitely a great balance. For our main courses we decided to get dumplings and the fried rice with shrimp. The fried rice was super good! Not like the type of fried rice I'm used to since it didn't have as much sauce, but it was definitely a nice change. Service: our sever Diamond was very sweet and attentive !

Yelp
This is a lovely but slightly overpriced. The ambience is my favorite thing about this restaurant. It's laidback and comfortable. Well decorated and not very loud. I came with my husband after a day walking in downtow and we enjoyed sitting here and taking a break. As I stated, i believe the food was a tad overpriced. I had the pho and though it was good it though wasn't anything to go home and brag about. My husband had the rice bowl and the pork belly was delicious. The menu didnt have as many options, I felt a bit limited. The service had no fault. The hostess was very friendly and our waiter did a great job. He was attentive but not overbearing. I'm not displeased i tried this place but I'm uncertain if I'll be coming back any time soon.

Yelp
We did not have the chance to try the food truck so I cannot compare this sit down location to its predecessor. All I know is this place rocks. We came on a busy night, sat at the bar and were wowed from there. Crispy Brussels are amazing, every bite was like fireworks in my mouth. The bao buns were phenomenal; the spicy Mayo drizzle on top made me beg for more. The pork and chive dumplings were crispy and tender. Lastly, the sake flight and lychee margarita were delightful drinks to top everything off !

Yelp
Everything we had was good. Forgot to take pictures. We had the Brussel sprouts, Impossible dumplings, pork and chive dumplings, beef noodle soup, shaved beef noodles (very spicy), chicken fried rice, mofu wings, and fried rice. There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed our meals and appetizers. The service was great as well. Our waitress was very attentive. We will definitely go back to this restaurant.

Yelp
This place has been on my list and I finally made some time to check it out. I ordered take out online for lunch one day and was pleasantly surprised. The curbside service was prompt. The food was piping hot and smelled utterly delicious. I dove into the impossible dumplings first. OMGGG! A must try!! So flavorful and light. You can definitely tell they make the dumplings in house as they are fresh and have a light crisp. They are $12 for 5 and it's def worth it! It comes with soy sauce and some sort of sweet and sour sauce which are both good, but the dumplings are fantastic just on their own. The Thai basil noodles were just as good as well. There was a bit of spice that wasn't too overwhelming. It's loaded with lots of veggies, which I loved. The portion was great as well. It's definitely enough for two servings. Parking may be difficult since it's downtown but it's worth the hassle. I am so looking forward to checking out some of their other menu items. This is a must try for all my vegan/vegetarian friends!

Yelp
Amazing food! The kimchi tots were delicious and exceeded our expectations. The Bao buns were also amazing as well as all of the dumplings we had. Loved everything we had!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh! I come here for cocktails and the Brussel sprouts with pork belly but everything on their menu is delicious! The restaurant is so beautiful and I love that they can lift the windows during nice days and let the fresh air and sunshine in. The service is always great as well.

Yelp
Omg, everything about this place is just too good - the ambiance, the food, and the service too. We were there for the date night and they accommodated us upstairs at this beautiful window spot! We tried their Mofu Wings, dumplings, and bowls to be honest it's hard to choose what was the best. The only thing is their service is just a tiny-tiny bit slow or maybe when you are seated upstairs it's not a lot feasible for a server to do up-down, I wouldn't cut star for that! Overall, a great experience, and will often be back to this place!

Yelp
100% must try for delicious food. I loved the pork belly dish and their cocktails are top notch. Such a great visit and can't wait to come in again soon. For more recommendations follow @raleighunlocked on Instagram.

Yelp
Ambience was nice. I am vegetarian and tried the D'impossible dumplings, which were just okay. Also had the seasonal salad which was good. Unfortunately, the server was unnecessarily unpleasant to us. I truly have no idea why. We fully appreciate waitstaff, are always respectful and leave a 20% tip (not that she would have known the last part until we were done). We still left the tip but wish we'd had a better experience overall.

Yelp
Appetizers were good, main entrees not so much. We enjoyed the dumplings and the wings - half & half offering was nice! Service was good, restaurant has a good vibe. But, overall food was underwhelming...there are better places In Raleigh.

Yelp
Went for Valentine's Day dinner. Food was not good (noodles was way too salty) and everything else was just so so. Service was too slow and it wasn't even too busy in the restaurant. Our server was really nice.

Yelp
We embarked on or dumpling craving here one day for the bulgogi dumplings given the rave reviews on the dumplings. We literally just got dumplings (and a couple Tokyo Mules!) Dumplings came out hot and ready. They did not disappoint. Hard to mess up a dumpling when you're using bulgogi as a protein! Seriously super tasty. This is ain't your Bibigo dumpling you got at Costco!!! Tokyo mules we're great and enjoyed the flavors the plum wine gave to the cocktail.
