Momed Review - Atwater Village - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Every self-respecting Eastside neighborhood needs one, breezy Mediterranean restaurant with a carefully curated design plan that makes you feel like you’re an extra in Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! This place used to be in Beverly Hills but is now in a huge space on Casitas Ave., complete with cabana seating, a full bar, and long communal tables. The food is Mediterranean, with dishes like avocado hummus, grilled lamb chops, and a whole-roasted orate that’s bathed in a lemon, herby sauce we wish we could bathe in. But what you’re here for are the casual, laidback vibes and channeling your best Meryl Streep with a tan. LA Guide The Best Restaurants & Bars In Atwater Village" - Kat Hong

"While the Atwater Village location will fully take on Super Bowl Sunday with the game on and a happy hour menu from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., the Beverly Hills arm will be a haven of peaceful meals with wood-oven flatbreads, avocado hummus, and not a TV in sight." - Mona Holmes

"What was once a Beverly Hills local favorite, Momed has a second location in Atwater Village. Both serve shakshuka, but only on the weekends. Where To Eat Brunch on New Year’s Day, 2018 - Eater LA

"Both Momed’s will serve brunch starting at 11 a.m. on New Year’s Day. The difference are the drinking options, with the full bar at Momed Atwater serving spicy Bloody Marys, and beer and wine at the Beverly Hills branch. Both kitchens have one of the city’s best shakshouka’s, and a hangover meatballs dish with in a spicy tomato ragu, poached organic egg, micro-greens, dates, and toasted ciabatta." - Mona Holmes

"Casual Elegance" is the phase I would use to describe the experience, the food, and the atmosphere. Dog friendly, which screams this is the right kind of people. Fresh, light, and delicious food and drink selection, highly recommend the octopus to start. Thanks for making my birthday dinner memorable.

When I heard the former chef from 71 Above was now here, I had to give it a try. I consider myself to be a good amateur chef, but dining here was a master class on why I’m an amateur. Everything was perfection! There were so many layers of finely balanced flavors in every bite. All the details were splendidly attended and the result was a testament to the chef’s artistry and love of food. We started with the crispy squash blossoms. They were served with a mint leaf and a bit of honey. The dab of honey meant there was not too much sweetness and the mint leaf precisely complemented the floral tones. The cheese filling provided just the right saltiness and they were crisped without feeling deep fried. The khachapuri was a delight. The crust was soft and thick with a salty-herbed finish. I’d eat just the crust and be happy, but the filling was outstanding. There was a (not too) spicy sauce, some Armenian sausage, an egg, and gooey cheese. We cut small pieces off the crust and dipped it like fondue until the filling firmed up enough to cut pieces. Yum! The Benedict was heaven on a plate. A hearty whole grain toast held a thick piece of fried pork belly, tomato, a perfectly poached egg, and flawless hollandaise. The egg yolk was a dark orange like a Japanese egg and medium cooked to that sweet spot between runny and gel. The hollandaise had bright lemon notes that balanced the richness of the pork belly and yolk. Maybe the best Benedict I’ve had, and I’ve tried a lot of them. For dessert (not that we needed it) we had the profiteroles. A light and airy puff pastry shell filled with a pistachio gelato and drizzled with chocolate. The gelato was full of pistachios and felt more like a mixture of gelato and frozen pistachio butter. Like everything else we had there, it was oh, so good. I very highly recommend dining at Momed. If there were 6 stars, I’d give it. The pricing was very reasonable ($20-25 for an entree), and I could see it being a good value for more. I came away full, but not stuffed, so the portion sizes were spot on. This will rise to a prominent place on my list of great LA eateries.

Google
I was worried it would be over hyped, but I have to say the avocado hummus and sour dough pita bread was very good as was all the grilled vegetables and salads we tried. We didn't try too many meats, the crispy lamb ribs were disappointing, I imagine the entrees are good we just didn't have many. Restaurant is not vegan but is vegan friendly . The cocktails are conceptually interesting, not amazing, but thankfully strong. Venue is open space outdoors, something I enjoy very much however the back is literally up against train tracks, if you're sensitive to sudden loud noises, be aware. Overall it was refreshing good. I very much enjoyed my meal especially since someone else paid for it. Had I paid for my own meal, I'd imagine that the price is quite steep since the portions are small, you need to order more than you think to be full.

Our waiter Patrick was so kind and had great recommendations since I’m vegan. Every bite was so tasty and unique, with sooo much flavor. Fun spot.

SIMPLY FANTASTIC- I had not been to Momed in about seven years (I have been missing out). Just went for my mother in laws birthday dinner. It is as amazing as I remember it. From the ambiance upon entering, you’re in for a treat. For four people we ordered to split the Avocado Hummus, the Carrots, Beets, whipped feta, the duck liver, broccolini, and the chicken wings. It was the right amount of food. We ended the evening splitting the baklava pudding dessert. Half price bottles of wine on Tuesday (large selection to pick from). Will be back soon!

Momed is a charming hidden gem that’s cozy, welcoming, and wonderfully pet-friendly. The ambiance is delightful, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed evening. The Mediterranean food was decent, though not extraordinary, but the drinks truly stood out and were absolutely fantastic. Dessert was okay, but the overall experience was elevated by our amazing server, who was attentive and friendly. I’m already planning a return visit to check out their brunch! Definitely a 5-star spot for its vibe, drinks, and hospitality.

I had a wonderful experience at Momed. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was absolutely delicious — everything was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The service was excellent too; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

Yelp
Momed is a fantastic spot if you like Mediterranean food with a modern California style twist. I went with my family and they seated the four of us on a Saturday. Matt was our waiter and he was excellent answered all of our questions and asked if any of us had dietary restriction. The restaurant had an outdoor and indoor area. The outdoor patio has very nice decorations while the indoor area had a nice spot close to the bar. The food was great we ordered the steak shish, chicken shish, double cheeseburger and the Mediterranean plate all of us loved the food overall five stars!

Yelp
Appetizers were eh ok! Short rib was good! But when I see irrelevant service charges that just makes everything bad! I'm not suppose to pay your fees for you! I own a business and I can't imagine charging my customers fees that it's not their responsibility! Ambiance was ok but not enough for us to go back! It's a shame that restaurants are still doing these! Two separate fees!

Yelp
Brought my mom here for her birthday for brunch. So close to the house, but we had never driven by and found it on yelp and so excited and happy that we did. Very contemporary design almost makes you feel like you're in the arts district in downtown Los Angeles. The vibe is totally hip modern and inviting with a very large patio area. Everyone from the moment you walk in is friendly and eager to help. We decided to start off with some appetizers. The whipped feta, avocado, hummus, a dip, platter and bread. Presentation was exceptional, and the flavors were right on point. My favorite was the feta topped off with the cherry tomatoes and a little bit of olive oil. For the mains, I went with the khachapuri and added bacon. Very traditional, middle eastern dish basically fresh dough baked with feta cheese, some sauce and an egg. Add the chop bacon for an extra savory entrée. Also had the steak kebab and eggs. Steak was cooked perfectly in the seasoned well. Can't find a single bad thing to say about anything that we had. This is definitely a great Sunday brunch spot or maybe a night out with friends.

Yelp
Came here for my bday. I'm so sad. Between our party of 4 - no one liked anything. I had such high expectations - maybe that's why I was so disappointed. I won't be back. Again I really wanted to like it. So many other med restaurants I'd rather go to than come back here.

Yelp
Very cute ambiance in an unassuming location. Server was friendly and attentive. They had a nice list of fun cocktails. The small plates were pretty good but the large pork dinner was flavorless. Unfortunately will probably skip for date nights because the train ran past immediately behind the restaurant approximately 7 times during our dinner which was loud and distracting and took away from the otherwise lovely patio.

Yelp
I have eaten here several times. The location is nice--and particularly nice if it's warm enough to be outside. The food is pretty good. But the prices are sufficiently high that the quality of the food tests the limits of what you're paying for it. But this is a negative rating, and where the restaurant really falls short in my opinion is service. Over the years, that's maybe three times total, every time I've eaten here, there's been some issue that's rubbed me the wrong way. Regarding such issues, I rarely much care. The job of the waitstaff and maitre d' is simply to seat you and to bring the food. Also, I've been a server and know how difficult the job can be. But this place really stinks in this department. They're rude and full of themselves such that even my mostly thick skin has been rankled. Perhaps their attitude sells in BH, but in Atwater it is out of place. I strongly recommend that you avoid this place.

Yelp
Update 5: Things have changed a bit, and while still good, I miss a lot of items that made it stellar. I would still call it high-performing, but clearly downgraded a star. Okay okay, the avocado humus, muhamara, burrata, Brussel sprouts were wonderful, the octopus and the jidori chicken, whereas the wild mushroom manti delicious and the tajine were a bit disappointing. And the olives, I returned. Update 4: Momed even post COVID continues to be a wonderful foodie oasis, and two guests of middle eastern background shared their positive impression. However, it is very sad that the delicious flat breads have been taken off the menu. Update 3: It is time to give Momed a 5th star. There is almost no better way than to show a friend from Boston what the L.A. culinary world has to offer than to go to Momed: not the best neighborhood, not super-chic but definitely very cool and trendy, comfortable, extremely friendly and hospitable, relaxed - and hey really superb food!!! Among many dishes tried this time, I fell in love with the lamb tagine with dates and pears. In the end, there is not much that can go wrong here - except not to have a sufficiently spacious stomach! Update 2:This is a winner and one of my all-time favorites. There is virtually nothing that could go wrong here. The food is delicious. This time, the selections included the usual and inevitable 5-Mezze, Momo Chips, and Persian Eggplant, followed by a Veggie and a Beef Tajine with pears and plums as well as couscous, and a grass-fed burger. Not to forget about the dessert which barely fit but had to happen: Basbousa and Turkish coffee and espresso. Just a feast for the palate. But also the ambiance is great - except that in the so cold California winter, it can be a bit chilly near the door. Update 1: Frequent returns have not lessened the positive impression at all. Rather the contrary: the more often I have been here, the more I like the setup with outdoor dining, great food and very nice service. Appetizers are all great, as are the salads, flatbreads, and plates... ... except the price appears to have gone up and really is a $$$ than a $$. Original review: What an unexpected jewel this was: hiding with its beautiful and very spacious interior and/or outdoor seating in midst of a rather murky neighborhood. But boy, it was worth it: delicious mezzes, fig and arugula flatbread, light hangar steak with lentils and lamb kebob with fabulous vegetables and spices, as well as the momo chips - all beautifully presented. And not to forget the cute dessert which is a bit too sweet and not really a tiramisu, but nonetheless an excellent finish, paired with a Turkish coffee with almond milk.

Yelp
Really happy to enjoy this place for the first time today. A train going by so close scared the crap out of me. In a good way though. Made for nice daytime ambiance. Part of that eastside charm. The food is absolutely incredible. The house made sourdough pita, that comes with very tasty whipped feta, is like crack! It's like a pita popover where the outside has some crunch but the inside is pillow soft. I've never had anything like it. For the main, I had the salmon shish. Also, very with it. This place is really far from home for me but was a pleasant surprise for my lunch meeting today. There are hidden fees added to the check. This should be disclosed better but so many places are doing this lately that it shouldn't surprise anymore. Definitely recommend for the great food and pleasant service.

Yelp
This place is a gem! It truly never disappoints. Tucked away in a hipster Atwater village neighborhood, Momed serves the community great middle eastern favorites with a modern flair. They have a spacious outdoor space, which I always prefer! Their drinks are delicious and the appetizers and dishes are shareable. I love meeting friends at Momed as their service is always on point!

Yelp
Ambiance - wow! This space is beautiful! Granted there was a bridal shower in the outdoor patio filled with flowers, which made the space very pretty. Having said that, this space would be a great venue for events. Food was flavorful and fresh. We ordered brussel sprouts, sourdough pita with avocado hummus and beets and burrata, and Cleopatra salad for appetizers. I could have just eaten appetizers as my meal. It was all so good and delicious. For entrees, we ordered the Momed burger, steak and eggs, grain bowl and Khachapuri (breakfast pizza). Service was friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure, and maybe have a nice bday dinner or event here.

Yelp
I looooove going to Momed. The restaurant offers one of the most authentic and delicious meals in the area. I'm obsessed with their appetizers and the mushroom manti. The drinks and the bar area are so beautiful and attractive too. Need to go back for their brunch menu.

Yelp
This place will be my favorite Mediterranean restaurant for a while. Such a lovely ambiance with romantic vibe suitable for all kinds of occasions. The bar was also cute and they decorated the countertop with tulips, which is my favorite flower. I gave this place 5 stars even before the foods came out. The foods were great and I only had a glass of wine but my party loved the cocktails. I liked how most dishes had different textures and flavors mixed together to give unique tastes. The whipped feta was AMAZING with freshly baked hot pitas. The tomatoes and the honey were so sweet and balanced out the sharpness of the feta very nicely. Please order extra pitas with it! The winter caesar salad was also amazing. It wasn't anything like an ordinary caesar salad. It had a nice crunch from the bread crumbs and pomegranate. Please order this too! Pork belly was also great with the crispy skin. Beef shish and wild mushroom manti were okay, probably not going to order next time. Don't forget to order pavlova for dessert! The only thing that really bothered us was the kitchen. Not going to leave details here but the kitchen really had some issues this day that we had to send one of our dishes back to the kitchen.

Yelp
This creative enclave looks absolutely amazing, both outside and on the inside. What you have is a great place and service in the hidden parts of Atwater for those who want some of the best eats in Los Angeles, hands down. They are always inventing and reinventing here, as I've seen with not only their specials, but their creative cocktails/mocktails, and changing seasonal menus. Persimmon burrata (seasonal) - an absolute delight for fruit lovers and those who want the creamiest disposition to wow their senses. I think this is the best burrata combination I have ever experienced. Grilled broccolini - since Momed has a wood-fire grill, I think this grilled dish has the perfect crunch and charr that makes for a great side dish - more than the fries in my opinion. Wild mushroom manti - a popular dish for many, this manti is very meat forward and can be a bit oily. It is tasty, but when warm, so eat up as soon as you can, because the dish will come out sooner than one can expect. Beef shish - This is a crowd pleaser and a stomach filler. I think it is plentiful for 2-3 if one orders another 2 dishes and is moderately hungry. It will come charred properly given their excellent wood-fire skills.

Yelp
My first review in the new year, 2024! I had my first meal of 2024 here. They were open thankfully 5-9 PM for dinner on New Year's Day. The restaurant is probably like an old warehouse. The railway was just behind the restaurant, so you can hear loud noises every time a train passes by. They had a row of parking spots reserved for customers just outside the entrance. There was also a lot of free street parking. They had restrooms past the kitchen, but the restrooms were pretty dirty. One of them had a creepy doll portrait above the toilet. They had string lights and heaters on, so it was pretty inside. They also had a separate section where the bar was. I ordered the cocktail called What's Good Here. Our waitress explained (more like warned us about) the little flower thing that came with the drink. It was a like a pepper that gives you a numbing feeling. We got an extra one for $1 so my eating partner and I could both try it. It was interesting to try for the first time, but I wouldn't do it again. I didn't particularly enjoy the feeling. Avocado hummus $16 - I wanted some pita and hummus to start, but this avocado didn't quite satisfy my craving. The pita was 1000% amazing though. I highly recommend getting it. It smelled and tasted like peanuts. Cleopatra $18 - I wouldn't get this again just because the entree I got also had butter leaf lettuce. They put too much vinaigrette for my taste. It's a layered salad, so each leaf had lots of dressing. The last one had way too much. Duck $85 - this was a dinner special that was not on the menu. It was served with butter leaf lettuce, some fresh herbs, and some sauces. The duck was amazing, something I'd get again. They clearly didn't wash the lettuce because I found bugs. The waitress replaced them and that was it. It's too bad this happened. I hope it's not a regular thing for them to skip corners. Banana caramel tiramisu $16 - I only got this because the warm apple cake was not available. It did not taste like alcohol and was not overly sweet. They probably could have made it look better by adding a mint leaf. It just looked like they cut a slice and slabbed it on the plate. Oops I didn't think I was going to spend so much money, but this dinner was close to $200 for two people.

Yelp
Location: interiors of LA, neighborhood gives sketch. But the place is huge, feels like a film studio/set that they converted to restaurant. Open air, indoor outdoor dining style with bar and formal dining seats. There are stairs for entrance and bathrooms available. Street parking free, valet is $$. Food: we mainly went for desert and drinks and hopefully would like to return someday to taste dinner options. The menu is smaller, but diverse enough to meet dietary needs or restrictions. We tried their coconut macaron dessert which was coconut ice cream on kunafa/crispy vermacelli, covered with sweet thin slices of pineapple; this was delicious. Their flourless chocolate cake was rich but it wasn't sugary sweet and it was served with cherry compote and unsweetened whipped yogurt, perfectly balanced. They made an arak/sherry for me with pomegranate (variant of their previous 'Here Comes The Sun') and we tried the 'Give Peas A Chance'. Both were beautifully refreshing. Service was spot on, wouldn't change a thing. Overall, had a great time!

Yelp
This place boasts a lovely atmosphere, courteous and professional staff, and fantastic food. We celebrated a special occasion here recently and walked away feeling incredibly satiated from all of the delectable bites we enjoyed. The restaurant has a cozy yet elegant vibe but one feature that sets it apart is that everyone, from the moment we walked in to the time we left, made sure we were taken care of. A fine establishment indeed!

Yelp
Fantastic establishment! I really appreciate that their patio is dog-friendly. The ambiance is wonderful and bohemian. Service was friendly and inviting. I really enjoyed the modern Armenian/Mediterranean dishes they had on the menu. The Khachapuri is a must and large enough to share with at least two people. The vanilla latte was also very tasty, I enjoyed the espresso they used. I look forward to returning for a dinner experience.

Yelp
The food was great but a little too pricey. The service was great. The ambiance was wonderful. This would be a great place to take a date. I got take out , but would be coming back to celebrate any special event at night. It is a gem hidden.

Yelp
Momed is such a great restaurant hidden in Atwater Village! Wedged in between a bunch of industrial buildings is this awesome restaurant. This restaurant has an amazing array of mediterranean dishes. Their outdoor space is beautiful as well. Makes for a great spot to have a spritzer or negroni with your meal. My friend and I ordered the Cleopatra salad, khachapuri, and the whipped feta. All the dishes were thoughtfully created and delicious! I really enjoyed every single one of them. The service was also really great. Our server was attentive and made sure that we were well taken care of. Overall, I'd recommend this place to people that are looking for a bit more upscale restaurant in Atwater.

Yelp
Supremely disappointed by Momed's nickel-and-dime vibes (there is a charge for hot water), hidden Kitchen Appreciation fee (at one point, a staff loudly discussed and complained about another party that was dining in another area of the restaurant), and lackluster dishes. I don't typically have issues with restaurant-mandated surcharges but there is no physical itemized bill for review and you're left unaware of the Kitchen Appreciation fee until you request a printed copy of your receipt after tip and payment. The dishes also slacked in prep work and flavor IMO -- between two, we ordered the House-Made Sourdough Pita with Whipped Feta (the honey and whipped feta balance just wasn't for me), the Scallop "Risotto" (came out smelling fishy but tasted fine), the Carrots (came with 3 overly cooked stalks), and the Wild Mushroom Manti (the manti dumplings were extremely oily and tasted refried); we really wanted to try the Grilled Prawns but the focaccia wasn't ready so the dish wasn't available for order.

Yelp
This place changed a lot since I last came, unfortunately. It was pretty empty when we walked in on a Saturday around 11AM. Brunch menu was very limited and had changed significantly from what I initially remembered. They also had "ran out" of certain items so we could not order them. They didn't even have whole milk so I couldn't have a latte (???). They also charge for a refill of COFFEE, which was unheard of. No breakfast/brunch spot charges for black coffee to be refilled.. so so weird. Be aware of the small charges on everything. Shakshuka was 10% egg and 90% peppers/tomatoes.. very spicy too. No one on our table loved their food :( I wish we had a better experience because i used to love this place. The service was good and the place is still really nice which were the main reasons for the 2 stars. I hope things improve.

Yelp
When I left this exquisite place I told the front of house manager, "this was the best meal I've had in Los Angeles" and I meant it (short of Mozza). Every dish was so flavorful, unique and original I will remember them all for a very long time. We were greeted warmly at the door, then sat at the bar while we waited for the rest of our party. There is a lovely cocktail menu but we settled for simple gin and tonics which had a very generous pour. Once our party was complete, we were seated in a semi private space that allowed us to socialize (and be a little loud!) without disturbing the other guests. It also allowed us a view of the room so we didn't feel isolated. This was a very nice touch and something hard to find for big parties. The food! Started with the whipped feta, seasonal burrata (ours appeared to be pomegranate seeds with harissa), avocado hummus and fattoush. The fattoush had so many layers of flavor I wanted to lick the bowl. All this was accompanied by delicious freshly baked pita. Dinner was assorted kebabs with tagine and crispy rice. The tagine was another bowl licking temptation but instead I grabbed the last bit of pita to soak up the remains. I'm not a huge dessert fan but the pavlova and chocolate pot de crème were a lovely finish. I was too busy eating to take photos, alas. Which says it all. I thanked the kitchen on the way out, I was so appreciative of the meal they served. Come here to celebrate with friends--you will feel treated and special. Thank you, Momed, for a truly lovely night.

Yelp
Omg did not disappoint, everything was absolutely delicious. Alex the owner came to our table and he was very nice hands on and helpful with his staff. Thank you to the amazing chef Vartan for his incredible food and creative presentation. It was a wonderful Mother's Day with my beautiful family. We had a great time and excellent food Tiana and co workers were hardworking, efficient, helpful.

Yelp
It's fun when you can add 5 star to the last 5 stars, but I wish I could give them 10, it's just that good. Let's start with Rebecca, our server. The food and ambiance is only as good as the service and she was THE BEST. She approaches the table timely, but not overwhelmingly. She is insightful, funny, and authentic. Rebecca offered great suggestions, validated our feelings as we ordered and savored each and every thing from a gluttonous approach. The options are so good that it is hard to choose just a few. The easiest choice was to only pick one of the cheese options, whipped feta or the seasonal burrata, for which I think we should have ordered both. Next time. I'm sorry Rebecca, but as much as I want to marvel about your service, we must move on to the food and drinks. We started with "What's Good Here?" and "Give Peas a Chance" with names like that, you just have to order them. While the Give Peas a Chance looks dainty, it packs a punch with milagro blanco tequila, lime, mastic liqueur snap pea, mint, and black sesames sprinkled on top. It is delicious. On to our wine, not just because I'm celebrating my 62nd birthday, but because it's what we do. By the way, it's Tuesday and on Tuesdays bottles on the top half of their menu are 1/2 off. We were able to snag a bottle of Faust Cabernet, regularly 96 on the menu, but not today! Prost! We started with the duck liver terrine, served with a black cherry mustard and piping hot pita bread. The seasonal burrata was up next, because you can never go wrong. I wish I had the right description for this other than, "it is friggen amazing." This dish was served with roasted asparagus, hazelnuts, orange something or other, and other ingredients that I can't remember... don't be deterred from ordering this based on my horrible description, it by far was one of the best dishes of the night. The squash blossoms... YES. These heavenly crispy and beautifully filled blossoms were out of this world. Filled with feta, ricotta, nigella seeds, preserved lemon bagna cauda, and sprinkled with parmigiano reggiano. They only serve 3 to an order, and Rebecca was kind enough to mention that we may want 4, but I opted to let my husband splurge on the last one. After all, there was more to come. Last dish of the night... until desert, here comes the grand slam of the night. Lamb belly. That's right. The perfectly crisped lamb is served on a freshly made lavash bread, and adorned with pea tendrils, sumac onions, tomatoes, garlic toum, serrano, and pomegranate seeds. Do NOT miss this. It is unique and exceptional. Ok, I'm full and if I'm not, I have a bigger problem to address. But here comes Rebecca, doing her thing, leading us to a beautiful birthday rhubarb rose crisp, served in a piping hot cast iron dish and topped with homemade vanilla ice cream. Check please! We left happy, feeling celebrated, and with the thoughts of returning asap. The service is exceptional by all wait staff, not just our server. The runners were excellent and other servers who dropped things off. The manager stopped by, also a very nice touch, especially for those of us who understand the restaurant business. MoMed, keep up this wonderful thing you have going here. The chef is a mastermind and creative in his work and presentations. LOVE everything about our experience. Parking is free in the provided lot, as well as ample street parking.

Yelp
Atwater Village is one of my favorite neighborhoods in LA, and Momed located here is truly a hidden gem--maybe I shouldn't even be writing this review! The outdoor covered patio with long tables was perfect for our group of 5, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience on a Monday night. Our waitress was incredibly helpful, offering great recommendations and checking in on us often. The drinks were innovative and unique, definitely worth trying if you're looking for something different. The food was fantastic! The pita and spreads were a standout, and the salads were fresh and flavorful. We also loved the chicken and lamb--both were cooked perfectly. The only miss for us was the Tajine dish, which wasn't a crowd favorite, but everything else was delicious. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other dishes we didn't get to order this time around. Highly recommend for a chill yet tasty dining experience in one of LA's best-kept secret neighborhoods!

Yelp
After the 5% "kitchen appreciation fee" and the 20% mandatory tip, my burger came out to be $31. It was the most I've ever paid for a burger and it tasted like a 4/10 burger. In n Out is honestly better than this. I wasn't going to give any feedback until I saw the "kitchen appreciation fee." Maybe pay your staff what they deserve and don't put it on the customers?? I swear they make up anything these days just to charge you as much as possible

Yelp
Man this place was incredible. A little pricey but taste wise each item we had was definitely worth every penny! We left a wine bar whose food didn't look appetizing and was going to go to a place we always go to but I said that's something old couples always do Let's try something new and I'm so glad we did We ordered the pita bread and hummus to start and I wanted to lick the plate. My girl and I were fighting over each piece it was that good. Prawns were incredible, sauce masterfully done and this might have been the worst thing we had if I'm ranking.. because that Branzino was exceptional. Might've been the best I've had in some time, had a great one recently but it was a fried one - this one tasted so fresh. Lastly the broccolini was by far the best thing we tasted and we will come back for this if nothing else. You could eat it by its self. We sat at the bar so we could catch the end of the Timberwolves/Mavericks game and I honestly didn't even watch because I was wrapped up in the food. The server had great energy, great suggestions, spoke highly of many things on the items but that broccolini recommendation *chefs kiss* Loved the vibe of the space and we are definitely adding momed to our old couple go to spot list!

Yelp
Took my lovely wife and family out for Birthday brunch. A pleasant, calming vibe in the indoor/outdoor layout. Charming deco and table setting! Humus and Pita appetizer was great way to start the meal. Pita right out of the oven My wife loved the beets and the aoli on the burger We had two Khachapuri - breakfast pizza- great flavor profile and great fun to mix the egg and cheese. We got sausage baked in to crust - spicy and lush creaminess

Yelp
I wrote a disappointed review and clearly laid out what was so frustrating about my experience. The owner replied that my review was just mean, dismissing it out of hand. When I returned a year later with clients, the meal was excellent, including the UPDATED prawns dish, which was far superior to the original. I'm sure it hurt to get negative feedback the first time around, but maybe my review and others' sank in, because the menu and execution has improved.

Yelp
One star for service and another star for location and ambiance. Everything else needs work. Pricing: they will buckle and dime you every step. But more like $5 and $10 you. Even a coffee or drink refill is charged. Food: no taste and spiced out to max. Yuck. Will not be back.

Yelp
If you're looking for flavor, search no further. Momed's dishes are expertly seasoned, well-balanced, unique, and inventive. Each dish bursts with flavor, seasoned with exotic spices and an abundance of fresh herbs. It has an expansive, dog-friendly covered patio and friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. Exactly what I was looking for at lunchtime this afternoon!

Yelp
The food was really good. Definitely recommend the chicken shish (amazing sauce), khachapuri and chocolate pot de crème. If you're looking for a good Mediterranean food spot, this is definitely one to try! The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was nice.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that their tiramisu is the best i have ever tried !!! We came on a Saturday night , without a reservation and were seated right away. The place is very cute & the vibe is great. We ordered a Caesar salad to begin with and a pork plate and i wasn't impressed..definitely the salad wasn't of my liking , but other people in my party liked it. The main plates that we ordered which were the chicken , beef , fish and mushroom plates were delicious!!!! Like very tasty! The only thing is that on this specific day they were out of their sourdough and this was the main reason we came here.

Yelp
What a great neighborhood spot! Ample street parking, but $12 valet. Wheelchair accessible thru the parking lot. Spacious outdoor area, which made coming with a stroller easy. The staff is very friendly. Highlights from the meal included the fried rice and the chilaquiles. Share the yogurt biscuits and the Benedict. Great for groups, our party was a party of 7 and we came Saturday for brunch. No wait!

Yelp
Had dinner here with a group about a week ago. We picked Momed for three reasons: 1) they were open on Memorial Day; 2) our friends who live in LA had been there before; 3) the place I personally wanted to go to (Raffi's, Armenian) was determined to be 'too heavy for a work night' by our friends, so I was vetoed. Overall, the food was good but I felt it was significantly overpriced. Let's start with the bill: $400 for a group of 6 - this included roughly 10 small plates (each person had a bite or 2 from each dish), 4 drinks (2 people only had water; the 4 included a glass of white wine, a paloma, an IPA and a Dewers ) and 3 desserts, plus tax and tip - AND, this was during their 'happy hour' when drinks are supposed to be cheapest. The biggest 'culprit' was the $39 beef kabob - we ordered 2 of these, thinking they would be the perfect amount for 6 to share, along with the other dishes, imagining 2 or 3 skewers of beef per order. But each order consisted of only 1 skewer; the meat itself was chewy and not very flavorful, and for the money, this dish was the biggest disappointment. We had hoped to order a couple other dishes including the grilled peach and the squash blossoms, but they were out. Everything else was tasty, but it felt like there was a 'lack of creativity' since a big dollop of plain yogurt accompanied several of the dishes. Seen here are the roasted beets with yogurt (only 3 pieces of beet); the roasted prawns (2 prawns - very good but each person literally got one small bite); the roasted eggplant also served with yogurt; the octopus also served with yogurt (octopus was cooked perfect and pomegranate seeds were a nice touch); roasted broccolini (this was the best value as there was plenty to share); not included in the pics were the 2 bowls of house made 'chips' (essentially home fried potatoes) we got, and note that there was no bread/pita served... At the end of the small plates we were still hungry so we got one of each dessert; the tahini cheesecake was super delicious, smooth and slightly nutty from the tahini; the panna cotta was mostly granita with a very thin layer of panna cotta - you can't even see it in the photo (although the granita itself was very good); the tiramisu was also great, very rich and a nicely balanced. Ambiance was nice, service was good, heat lamps were available, and there was enough free street parking; plus the space is quite large and nicely appointed, so seems like it would be good for dares or groups. Just we felt that it was over priced for what we got. We will not be back, and the friends who brought us agreed the experience was very different from their previous visit, and they were also disappointed.

Yelp
Momed has an intimate patio, a good ambiance for a date night or a mezze with a group of friends. The drinks are good and interesting, a nice blend of eastern Mediterranean ingredients with spirits. I got the modern Mediterranean (think of a slightly sweeter Manhattan) and the Zaddy (pork infused rye, an old fashion setup). I preferred the modern Mediterranean, to me the zaddy was a bit rich and was not too much different than an old fashion in my opinion. The whipped feta was delicious, the pita was interesting. As someone who is middle eastern I expected it to be a traditional flat pita, but it was fluffy. The broccolini was my favorite dish of the night, peppery and the black garlic tahini with the crunch of the crispy shallots provided the perfect bite. The gnocchi was tasty as well, well spiced. Not picture is the walnut olive oil cake, the dish comes with whipped labni. Which was needed as the cake was a bit dry for my liking. I paired dessert with installing Java, their version of an espresso martini. Staff were friendly and interactive. Parking could be tricky depending on how busy the restaurant is, they do have valet parking. I would for sure comeback.

Yelp
The food here was sooo good! Lots of veggie options that were all amazing (whipped feta and carrots were highlights), extensive mocktail menu, yummy desserts, and all around great vibes. It's all outdoor/patio seating (with heaters) so be sure to bring a jacket. The train didn't really bother us.

Yelp
We were fortunate to have the former chef return to Momed after all these years. It's been almost eight years since our last visit, so we wanted to see how it faired after the Pandemic. As we observed, the appearance had not changed, but costs had obviously increased with the addition of a "Kitchen appreciation" fee in addition to the normal tip. As for food, the food was about the same, although it was slightly different from our previous outing, although the addition of beets to the menu was welcome, as it was delicious. Their dessert was only Basque Cheesecake, which was just okay, but not remarkable. I do have to say I've always enjoyed outside and inside environment, as it is beautiful and located in quite a different type of setting with the MTA Train passing every so often in an industrial setting with homes across the street.

Yelp
Lunch with my husband and son celebrating spring break. The food is always good here and so is the service. The sandwiches are served without any sides so if you want to add a side you have to pay extra. Prices have gone up and honestly I didn't expect to pay so much for lunch. Other than that it's a great place with amazing ambiance.

Yelp
I came here through an app called TimeLeft (you meet 5 strangers for dinner) and we had the best time here! Instead of individual meals we ordered a bunch of appetizers to share, and every single one was delicious! My favorites were the grilled corn and the shrimp skewers, but every single dish was delicious. I ordered the "What's Good Here" cocktail, which includes an edible flower bud that will give your mouth a pop rocks sensation - very fun and I recommend it! Overall, a little gem in an unassuming neighborhood.

Yelp
3/2/2023 This is a hidden place many people will miss due to the location. I took Uber, a Tesla Model S short range for a 6-mile ride at $20 at lunch time (UberX is $15) The House Cured Salmon Toast at $20, plus added two poached organic egg, is excellent. The signature cocktail Silk Road $22 (Paul John Indian Single malt whisky) is 4 stars, but What's Good Here $17 (Tequila) is 3 stars.

Yelp
First and last time . This place made a twist for modern Mediterranean cucine with the intentions of serving small sizes and charge more than in Paris France.I know that the place is packed for 2 reasons: one that is a new restaurant, two their clientele are young people.....and they charge an extra fee for something like kitchen support ?? , but it was an extra fee anyways.Wow !!!going out for Dinner now a days is extremely expensive if you are not careful to look for a better value. Ambiance was Nice

Yelp
So loud! Between the ambient noise and the train literally going right by our table it was difficult to have a normal conversation. Food was good for my friends but vegan options were few for me.

Yelp
Came here last night to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends! I made a reservation a week ago and called to confirm my reservation two times beforehand for 10 people at an indoor table. However when we arrived, the host said our table was not ready yet. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes, and when I asked about the status of our table again, he told us we would either have to wait another 45 minutes for an indoor table or we could have an outdoor table now. At that point, it only made sense to choose the outdoor table because the restaurant closes at 9:30 PM, and if we waited another 45 minutes, we'd only have 15 minutes left lol. We were seated at a large table in the back of the outdoor patio surrounded by heaters. The wall we were next to just so happened to be next to a train track, so it definitely got kind of loud every 30 minutes or so when a train came by (which is exactly why I reserved an indoor table in the first place). Silk Road: 8/10. I thought this was great! Fun presentation with the smoke bubble. Flavor was citrusy and sweet, and the smokiness and hint of cinnamon single malt whisky came through well. Baked Halloumi: 7/10. The halloumi had a mild flavor, but the tartness from the apples and crunch from the walnuts were all delightful together! Manti: 7/10. The dumplings were pretty small, but they were hearty and fresh! The portion was pretty small, maybe enough for 2-3 people as an appetizer. Mezze Trio: 7/10. This came with avocado hummus, tzatziki, and roasted garlic hummus and slices of pita bread. Simple but yummy! My favorite was the roasted garlic hummus. Short Rib Tajine: 8/10. Delicious! The short rib was so tender, and the stew was so savory. Thought the couscous it came with was a bit too dry and lacking in flavor. Parking: There are only 10 parking spaces in the front of the restaurant, and they were full when we arrived. There's plenty of street parking available because the restaurant is located right in the middle of a suburban area. Price: Definitely pricey, but not unreasonable because you're paying for high quality food and the upscale lounge ambience. Expect to spend at least $60 if you want a cocktail and main here. Overall I thought the food and drinks were great, the ambience was nice, and we still all had a fun night. But considering the other factors, I feel like this is a solid 3.5 stars. I definitely was disappointed they didn't honor my original reservation. I wouldn't recommend Momed for larger group events, but it'd be a great place for a date night or small friend gathering.

Yelp
Great food and service. We had a concert at The Greek Theatre and came here for dinner on our way to the show. We had the avocado hummus, the whipped feta and the jidori chicken. Everything was delicious! My husband and I shared everything and we left full and happy. We will definitely go back.

Yelp
Momed is insanely expensive even in these inflationary times. The mark up on the wines is ridiculous. Bring your own and pay the corkage if they allow. Portions for sharing are small but prices are big. Bathrooms are disgusting, dirty, and in terrible shape especially the men's bathroom. The state of the bathrooms says a lot about the state of the kitchen. Hopefully management will take some time to clean them up.
