The Best Restaurants to Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Miami, Florida 2023 | Eater Miami

"Chefs Carolina Sanchez and Iñaki Murua’s second restaurant (the first is Michelin-starred Ikaro in La Rioja, Spain) will be offering two family-style, prix fixe seatings, the first from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and the second from 9:30 to 1 a.m., featuring dishes like ceviche “vuelve a la vída,” wood-fired branzino, glazed boneless short ribs, and seafood paella. At midnight, guests toast with champagne and partake in Spain’s cherished tradition of eating 12 grapes for good luck. The celebration continues at Paraiso Estereo (the group’s speakeasy-style bar), with a premium open-bar package, passed hors d’oeuvres, and a live DJ until 5 a.m. Price: First Seating $175 per person and $75 for children under 12; second seating: $220" - Alona Martinez

Miami’s New Restaurant Openings

"Momento is a Spanish restaurant in Downtown from the team behind Ikaro—a restaurant in Spain. Their new spot in Miami is a mix of Spanish and Ecuadorian. Half the menu focuses on small plates like hamachi tiradito, roasted artichokes, cheese-stuffed plantains, and baked brie. The bigger wood-fired dishes include turbot, short ribs, lamb shoulder, and veal sweetbreads. " - mariana trabanino, virginia otazo

The place is beautiful, the food was really good, I was expecting it to be more Spanish food but it’s a mix of Spanish and Ecuadorian cuisine and it wasn’t bad at all, but if you want to experience more Spanish food I won’t be the place, however if you want to enjoy an intimate dinner with good food this is the place because it’s not too crowded. Good to mention that they open only from Wednesday to Saturday.

Momento by Ikaro is a masterpiece of fine dining! The Amazonian Tiradito was a refreshing start, and the Wood Fired Branzino was cooked to perfection with incredible flavors. The staff provided exceptional service professional, attentive, and welcoming. The ambiance was stunning, blending elegance with comfort, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening. Truly a must visit for anyone who appreciates exquisite food and top notch hospitality!

Google
had a fantastic experience. The service was outstanding, with friendly and attentive staff. My favorite dishes were the fresh fish and the tangy ceviche, both bursting with flavor. The cheesecake for dessert was the perfect sweet finish. Highly recommend for great service and delicious food!

Momento by Ikaro Miami is more than just a restaurant, it’s a story brought to life through every dish and detail. What makes this place even more special is the incredible journey behind it. The chefs have poured their passion for culinary art into every plate, drawing from diverse influences and techniques to create a unique fusion of flavors that you won’t find anywhere else. Their dedication to crafting a memorable experience shines through in every bite. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like we were part of this story, welcoming us with warmth and genuine hospitality. The ambiance is modern yet cozy, with an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and savor the moment. We started with the fresh, flavorful tiradito and smoky roasted peppers, then moved on to the croquetas, which were little bites of perfection. The wine we had elevated the entire meal, but the true showstopper was the lotus cheesecake. I’ve been obsessed with this flavor lately, and the chefs nailed it, creamy, indulgent, and packed with that lotus goodness. Knowing the passion and creativity behind the restaurant’s concept made the experience that much more meaningful. You can truly taste the love and thought that goes into each dish. This isn’t just a place to eat, it’s a culinary adventure that you won’t want to miss.

Had a fantastic dining experience at Momento by Ikaro! The service was attentive, and the food was exceptional. We loved the Amazonian tiradito and the tuna tartar with salmorejo, but the real standout was the veal sweetbreads—absolutely delicious. The atmosphere added to the experience, making it a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy good vibes and even better food. Highly recommend!

Google
I am amazed by the quality of the food, not very common in Miami. I can say Momento is one of the best restaurants in town at the moment. The whole menu is very special, but you must order the tuna tartare, the Amazonian tiradito, the turbot (this type of fish is almost imposible to find in the US) and veal cachopo, with pesto and truffle. Oh, the lotus cheesecake is out of this world, crazy how good it is. Great athmosphere. Great attention to detail. Great vibes and great service. 10 out of 10

Momento by Ikaro offers an exceptional dining experience with a beautifully curated menu. Highlights include the Vuelve a la Vida seafood cocktail, tender Octopus a Feira, and the showstopping 72 oz Ribeye Steak. The Wood-Fired Branzino and sides like Truffle French Fries were equally delightful. Every dish is crafted with care, blending tradition and creativity. The ambiance and attention to detail make it a must-visit for fine dining lovers. Highly recommended!!

3.5. The place has an amazing interior, very relaxed and the kind of place you want to come and have a few drinks and a nice dinner. It was Valentine’s Day, but the service was really slow and we could see the waiter just talking at the bar. We had a party of 6. For more than $100 a person, the food was hit or miss. We ordered most of the starters, and the paella. The Cauliflower was a definite must try. The steak Tar Tar was good too. The others were just OK. We ordered two Paella for the table. One was cooked just right with a nice crust the other needed 10 more minutes. Big Note: if you want water, apparently they didn’t pay their water bill because you can only get over priced bottle water. I have that expectation at very high end restaurants, but they aren’t there yet. Would I come back - yes if I’m in the area, but for a glass of wine and maybe a quick bite. PS - No valet. Did I mention expensive water?

Yelp
3.75! This was one of those spot my friends enjoyed more than I did. For appetizers: I tried the stuffed plantains & oysters. They were stuffed with cheese & come with a peanut butter sauce. My friends really liked the sauce, but I did not care for it. I don't mind peanut butter sauces but this one was too much & I don't think the flavor paired well with the plantain. I also did not care for the oysters, they can come with different flavorings, but none of them were for me. For dinner: I had the glazed short rib. IT WAS DELICIOUS. A big portion with a perfect bbq sauce. Cooked to perfection. Best part of the whole night. The staff were very polite, but a little too eager to take our plates away. For a while it was hard to hear the person right next to me because the music & other people were too loud.

Yelp
The foundational theory of Yelp is that the events give us a taste and introduction to cool new restaurants in Miami. Most recent this was the case with Momento by Ikaro! I attended an Elite event there for Hot & New in Miami week. There had been a few meatier items that were not at the event but caught my eye on the regular menu. So when a friend who's visiting wanted to go to dinner somewhere nice downtown, we ended up at Ikaro! Located in the redeveloped space of a bar - and a historic venue itself - and two blocks from Club Space, it's a great spot to start of a Miami date night. The menu is seafood heavy, but there are some yummy meat centric plates. Although we passed on boozy libations tonight, the mocktail mojito I enjoyed was well blended and a good citrus forward flavor. Next for the appetizers, I ordered and enjoyed the plantain pieces served with pico as well as a creamy peanut sauce. Yes you can actually taste the different ingredients! The roasted potato slices were pretty good as well. Now on to the yummy meat: their short rib dish, with a side of quinoa, is meat lover's heaven. You have a nice stack of tender, fall off the bone short rib marinated and drenched in a bbq sauce. But it is not the regular grocery store one. This one is based with tamarillo fruit, which gives it a constant play between sweet, tangy and smokey. My companion and I closed this with their Lotus Biscoff cheesecake. This was a tasty caramel and cream layered over to gentrify the famous cookies from American Airlines :) The graham cracker taste mixed with the sweet is delicious. Service was very attentive through the evening, even though we were the last seating. Some of the staff remembered me from the Elite event and were as always pleasant.

Yelp
Very cool spot that transports your from downtown to an outdoor restaurant that feels like the islands. They have a good happy hour and the food looks great. A nice spot and cool escape from the downtown bustle.

Yelp
The food was hit or miss, and the service seems like they have some things to sort through before they can really get aligned between the bartenders, servers, and kitchen. They offer craft cocktails but do not seem to have bartenders trained in mixology to really deliver them properly. I ended up switching to wine. It is a shame because I was really excited to check this place out, but it fell a bit short for me.

Yelp
A great addition to the Downtown dining scene. It's definitely tucked away, and they don't get foot traffic, so I hope they do well! They offer valet and there's some parallel parking. The restaurant is kind of open-air, so you might be just a little warm depending on the weather. The food is a fusion of Spanish and Ecuadorian, so i definitely experienced new flavors. For example, the ceviche is served in a peanut sauce. Everything was delicious! I recommend the cauliflower in brown butter.

Yelp
Went because it was walking distance to us and didn't have many reviews because it just opened this summer but man...loved it!!! Food was unique, delicious and service was impeccable. Great date spot and not crowded at all...YET! Highly recommend before word gets out.

Yelp
From the moment(o) we stepped in, I was continuously wowed. The service was impeccable... it was opening night so they were a little bit nervous, but that died down within minutes. The selection of food goes above and beyond your "average" high end restaurant in Miami. The flavor profiles were unique but still had a feeling of homemade. I would put this place in the top 5 restaurants I've eaten at in Miami. It is the first time I could hear the people at my table without shouting; definitely a win for the restaurant. Ambiance was a vibe. I foresee myself coming back many times. Side note: the cocktail I ordered was fantástico. Props to the whole team for an amazing experience.

Yelp
Had a fabulous experience here! Food was PHENOMENAL. Possibly some of the best croquettes I've ever had, and the lamb shoulder was a standout dish. Staff was knowledgeable of all details in each dish & super attentive. Vibe is great, would recommend going on cooler nights since it has an open air feel. Went with a group of 8 before going to cocktail bars downtown and it was perfect.

Yelp
The atmosphere was nice! The croquetas, were phenomenal. The staff was very attentive to every details. They offered valet parking which was very convenient. Very nice place to dine.
