"Owner and proprietor Jennifer Smith turned a small neighborhood diner into one of the most popular restaurants in the West End neighborhood. In the shadow of the downtown skyline, diners feast on double-crust tomato pie, edamame succotash, meatloaf with Texas Pete-spiked collards, and sherry-laced shrimp and grits. After 17 years of service, this establishment’s taste and diminutive stature have never changed." - Nikki Miller-Ka

Mozelle’s is a must-visit! The tomato pie was hands down one of the best things either of us has ever eaten—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. And that crust—buttery, flaky, and golden—could hold its own in any bakery. It brought the whole dish together in the most delicious way. Wayne said the shrimp and grits earn a solid spot in his Top 5 meals of all time—creamy, savory, and packed with depth. The restaurant is warm and inviting, with a cozy yet elevated atmosphere. Fair prices, and very cute. Whether you’re seated inside or on the patio, it feels like the kind of place you want to linger. Our server Gui was exceptional—attentive, welcoming, and even offered us great dining recommendations for nearby towns. We’d drive back just for this meal. Mozelle’s delivers Southern comfort food with care, creativity, and truly memorable flavors. That pie...I have never had anything like it.

The restaurant itself is lovely and the place settings are all very curated and cute. I would give five stars for service even though our waiter forgot about us at the end of our experience... but another gal stepped up and she gave me a candle and lit it for me and wished me happy birthday! The food was good and I think it was worth the price; we just went at a very busy time. I would give the atmosphere 3.5 stars because inside the restaurant is very cramped and you can hear, well, everything that goes on while cooking and your neighbors' conversations, too. I do understand why people love this place though. It's an elevated take on southern comfort food in a bougie part of downtown Winston.

I had a ribeye sandwich with French fries. The steak was tender and delicious. The sweet peppers were a great touch! It was served on. “Cuban” hoagie roll. I wouldn’t classify it as Cuban bread but it was delicious! I had heard so much about the Tomato Pie that I took one home to try. This is my first Tomato Pie experience and I must say: YUM! Highly recommend this spot for a delicious meal and excellent service!

The hostess was arrogant rude and unfriendly. She offered us the bar area which was facing the wall with 4 chairs or that we could sit outside. I asked if we could wait for an inside table and she rolled her eyes that the earliest she would have a table would be 8:30. I totally understand how reservations work but I also understand sometimes people don’t show up or cancel and that you can be kind about things when saying no. The little alcove deck was a beautiful place to sit up and a little bit away from the street with the fresh flowers and fountain. I really enjoyed the meatloaf green beans and Mac and cheese was yummy. I hesitated to leave a negative review but hopefully this feedback will lead to some coaching for her to realize that customers are the reason she gets a paycheck, and a welcoming smile and attitude can go a long way.

If you rate a restaurant based on all factors within a business from A-Z, then this place is the best restaurant in Winston all the way around! Every time we come the food is exquisite, perfect quality, very tasty and enjoyable as well as satisfying! The staff is so friendly and attentive and it’s neat to watch them communicate well and work as a team! They all work together to make things happen here! We have NEVER had a bad server, food or experience here! They have a nice seating area outside to enjoy the outdoors as well and bar to sit at and inside as well that’s nice and clean. The staff also works to keep things clean and they are always hustling when I see them. Great place! I’m also not a burger person but they have the best burger I have ever had! It’s so good I crave it, went again today to have one! Emma is also very nice and easy to talk to there as well! While sitting to eat they brought an urn full of soda water to keep me refreshed while eating also.

Luke was very friendly and took great care of us and kept the drinks flowing. Probably the best shrip and girts i have ever had and it sounds weird but get the carrots as an appetizer the meat loaf was delicious

Yelp
We came here to celebrate two anniversaries, ours and our aunt and uncle. The restaurant inside and out was beautiful. Our server Val was great and attentive. Thanks Val! I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was velvety and almost perfect.. THE ONE THING WAS THIS....there was no bread to soap up the delicious sauce on the plate. I really wished there was something on the side like a few toasted baguette slices, to really make it perfect. I hope this restaurant considers this note. We also told Val about it as well. My husband felt his fried chicken was tasty and he swapped out Green beans with collards and he was so happy he did so, it made the dish. I will definitely come back here for a special occasion.

Yelp
We decided to book a reservation on Sunday for brunch. We had to wait 20 minutes because our table was still being occupied. After being seated we got the edamame hummus and the southern spring rolls for a starter. The hummus came with a side of carrots, cucumbers, and pita. We really enjoyed that! The southern spring rolls were also good, they came with a peanut sauce for dipping. For entrees we ordered the fried chicken and huevos rancheros. Both were good. The chicken was seasoned well and came with green beans, Mac and cheese, and a peach chutney. The portions were a bit small for the price but it tasted good. The huevos rancheros also tasted good, the egg was cooked well, we could have used a bit more heat. And the portion size was also a bit small. Overall the food was good but the portions were small for the price. The decor was cute. The service started out good but our server's mood suddenly shifted after we requested refills on our drinks and their mood continued through the rest of our experience. All in all the experience was okay. 3.5/5 but rounding down.

Yelp
We had chosen this restaurant to showcase Southern food to my wife's family from California and it was a great choice for it. We made reservations and you should also through Open Table or the restaurant. Parking is on the street and we got a spot right in front...yeah. We checked in and we were seated promptly and ordered some beers, they have cans only. My choice was the fried chicken that comes with green beans and Mac and cheese. Do yourself a favor unless you like green beans and substitute them for the spicy collard greens. Overall my dish was excellent and the only thing missing was a bread service at the table before and during dinner. A NOTE TO MOZELLE'S: please have a bread or maybe even biscuits at the table....this is the South and it is sad that this is not offered at your restaurant. I knocked off a star because it would have made the meal complete especially with people ordering shrimp and grits.

Yelp
Mozelle's professional service and quaint bistro vibe truly never disappoints. It's a great date spot in the Triad that whisks you away to another place during your dining experience. I ordered the daily special which at the time was Mahi. The fish was pan seared to perfection and melted in my mouth while earthy flavors danced around. The fish was paired with risotto and sweet yet tangy pickled vegetables which paired well with the overall dish. My husband ordered the shrimp & grits which he enjoyed so much I didn't have an opportunity to taste! We will be heading back to explore more of their menu!

Yelp
Dreaming about getting that tomato pie again. Just a burst of flavor in my trap. I yearn to eat up a lot of this menu and loved sitting at the street tables on a nice day. Service was attentive and if I lived closer I would make this a frequent stop.

Dixie M.

Yelp
Wonderful food!! Very gracious staff. Beautiful ambience!!! Had the tomato pie. Can't wait to try other dishes

Yelp
The last and final stop on this Valentine's Day for my wife and I. It did not disappoint whatsoever. It was a beautiful sunny day so we got to enjoy the wonderful patio. My wife gets cold easily, but that's not an issue here. Every table had both its own private heater, and a blanket placed neatly over the back of every chair. What a great touch! The ambiance and decor inside was fantastic with seating at the bar, in a separate room, and even a room that could be considered a sun room facing the patio with large windows. Great location and a fun atmosphere all the way around. The menu was eclectic with a variety of options. Probably the best hush puppies we've ever had. Normally these are dense with a lot of breading that is deep fried. What we had was a fluffy, melt in your mouth delicacy that had a thin breading layer that seemed almost flash fried. Don't know how they did it, but it was nothing like your typical dense and heavy hush puppies. The pic attached speaks for itself. The southern spring rolls were also leaps and bounds better than normal. Pulled pork, shiitake mushrooms, collards and sesame ginger meld together so well that they sing a melody of flavors in your mouth. And the medley of mains we shared were also great: fresh seasonal asparagus soup, pimento grilled cheese, tomato basil soup, and southern fried chicken with a great tangy kick to it. Maybe we were lucky, maybe we were happy from the great drinks he brought us, but our server made both of us laugh out loud with his witty humor every time he came by our table. I wish I got his name so I could name drop, but unfortunately we were too into our food and the great atmosphere on this sunny day in Feb. Thanks for the great experience, we will be back.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Love the outdoor seating. Service is wonderful. Really enjoyed the salmon noodle bowl and the croissant breakfast sandwich with perfectly cooked fried chicken, smoked bacon and a sausage gravy. Will definitely go back!

Yelp
3.5 rounding up on this visit! We made reservations for 2 for brunch, which I highly recommend! Book early, because they can fill up. We had a family member come to town unexpectedly and join us, so we let the hostess know when we arrived and I assured her that if we needed to wait due to the increase to 3 in the party that was okay. Honestly I expected to wait, but the hostess was kind of rude. I had already stated waiting was no issue, even though there was only one table occupied outside. She stated in a snippy tone that she would be canceling our reservation and adding us to the waitlist. Again, no problem. She stated it would be about 20 minutes. We walked up the street to Joyner's to grab a cocktail while we waited. It ended up being about 30-35 minutes before our table was ready. She was much nicer when we returned but we all noticed that she was quite brash when we first walked in, especially because they didn't appear too busy. Nevertheless, we were seated. We sat outside on the patio and it was a beautiful day! If weather permits, I certainly recommend outside seating. Our service was pretty good in the beginning, but I do feel it fell off a bit after our food was delivered. Not to be nit-picky, but I have always had 5 star service at Mozelle's, so I guess I expected more. The food was good! I always enjoy the edamame hummus as an appetizer. Super light and fresh. I got the fried chicken as my entree, it's one of my favorites! Always juicy and delicious. I really love their caramel peach shortcake, and it's one of my favorite desserts in Winston, however it was a little bit too done for my liking on this particular visit. I'm guessing this visit was kind of a fluke, as I've been to Mozelle's many times with excellent food and service, but I just hope my next visit gets that 5th star back!

Yelp
10 stars! This place is absolutely delightful. I'm so glad I finally got to try it. I'll cut right to the chase. Parking- it's downtown so can be a little tight but usually there's street parking. We got a spot right outside of the restaurant on a Friday evening, but prepare to walk a little in case you have to park further down! Location- wonderful! There's at least 5 bars within walking distance, so pre and post meal drinks are a must! Ambiance- so cute and cozy! Very intimate, but also can be a little tight. Southern charm meets French bistro. Service- wonderful! Our waiter was attentive, gave great suggestions, and really friendly Food & drink- now for the fun stuff! I got a mulled wine to start and it was very tasty! Perfect for this time of year with all those Christmas spices. We got the famous Edamame Hummus and O M G. Y'all it was phenomenal! I'm not a huge hummus person and still am obsessed. It's such a unique dish, absolute must try. Another must try..the Shrimp & Grits! WOW! That creamy, cheesy sauce with the pillowy grits and perfectly cooked shrimp. Divine. My friend ordered the mushroom pasta with shrimp which was equally as scrumptious. I loved the larger pasta it's served with, blanketed with a silky and creamy sauce. Yum. We didn't have enough room for dessert (I know, blasphemy...we were saving it for cocktails!) but I saw others around us enjoying and I can't wait to come back to try it. Mozelle's is a non-negotiable add to your dining bucket list! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Best chicken sandwich ever! And the Tots were perfect. My job recently relocated to a new building in Winston and decided to try of the the close local restaurants. They offer a variety of meal options including some southern favorites and some cleaner, healthier options. The service was very quick. The staff seemed to really be in a rush but handled it smoothly. (It was lunch rush) some of their options were a little pricey in my opinion. It looks like all their salads do not come with portion included in the price.

Maggie M.

Yelp
LOVED our food! We ordered takeout and it was incredible. We had meatloaf and salmon -- highly recommend. And the Bourbon Bread Pudding was delicious.

Marlon T.

Yelp
It's the only restaurant I've been to in Winston Salem, but I think it's probably the best one in town! Absolutely get the Fried Chicken and your taste buds will thank you. The atmosphere is classy and the service is superb. If I'm ever back in this part of the country/state, I wouldn't mind coming back here.

Dan D.

Yelp
Wow, Mozelle's is a great spot - their execution is top tier in a friendly, casual environment. Their location perfectly lends itself for breakfast / brunch. The service was fast and friendly. Mozelle's is on the small side, so reservations are recommended; you won't be disappointed. :)

Brooke P.

Yelp
I am flabbergasted that I haven't reviewed Mozelles yet as this is one of my favorite restaurants in Winston! I've tried most of their menu items and I haven't had a bad one yet. Can't even find a little flaw honestly. This past visit I had the gnocchi add chicken and the fried pickles and again, tell me where the critiques lie because I cant seem to find any. And the fact that they have the best spritzes out of anywhere - I'll visit mozelles for the Spritz alone. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The space is clean and inviting. What more could you possibly want? Basically I'm saying make your reservation now for one of the best dining experiences you'll have in the Triad area!

Jillian F.

Yelp
"Just had an amazing dining experience at Mozelle's! Steve, our waiter, provided top-notch service, and Caroline, the host, ensured we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we stepped in. The ambiance was cozy yet chic, perfect for a modern Southern bistro. The outdoor seating with fans for warmer weather and heaters for colder days was a nice touch. We appreciated the flexibility of making reservations for indoor dining and the option for curbside takeout. The menu offered a delightful selection of starters, salads, and entrees, with options for vegetarians and gluten-free diners. We savored every bite of our meals, from the flavorful spinach and artichoke dip to the mouthwatering filet mignon. Don't miss out on their delicious desserts, especially the bourbon pecan bread pudding! The attention to detail in sourcing ingredients from local, family-run businesses adds an extra layer of appreciation for supporting the community. Can't wait to return to Mozelle's for another memorable dining experience! Photos from the brunch experience! Enjoy!

Yelp
Mozelle's Southern Bistro offers an above-average dining experience with fantastic service that truly sets it apart. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality that makes you feel right at home. The attentive staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every need is met with care and efficiency, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal. While the food may not reach the heights of culinary innovation, it's still flavorful and satisfying, showcasing classic Southern dishes done well. Whether you're craving comfort food or looking for a relaxed dining experience, Mozelle's Southern Bistro delivers with its exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
Stopped here for a business lunch with a colleague and loved the place and the food. I had the shrimp and grits and my colleague had the tomato pie. Both were awesome. Great menu of southern cuisine at reasonable prices.

LaTanya T.

Yelp
In spite of it being crowded and hectic the hostess and waitress were pleasant and friendly. The shrimp and grits were excellent. The grits were savory and cheesy. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and combined perfectly with the smoked sausages. In opinion the Gruyère cheese was the secret ingredient. For dessert the bread pudding was average. It will satisfy your sweet tooth. We sat outside and even though it was a warm day the fans kept us cool.

Molly S.

Yelp
Wonderful, quaint restaurant! Staff were some of the friendliest I've ever had at a restaurant, and food was beyond delicious! They even went above and beyond and brought out some pink salt for our dessert when we asked, and had great suggestions! Cant wait to return!

Devin F.

Yelp
Mozelle's Fresh Southern Bistro is a phenomenal restaurant on the corner of W Fourth St and Brookstown Ave.they have two indoor seating areas, bar seating, and patio seating with plenty of blankets and space heaters. The photos of the food don't do justice to how good the food tastes. The chef's double has been the best burger in NC I've had thus far. Fried chicken was great and Mac and Cheese was delicious. Highly recommend the flourless chocolate torte with caramel sauce instead of raspberry (ask for sea salt on the side and if they can heat it up). The staff is awesome. Extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. Highly recommend Mozelle's

Yelp
Delightfully modern twist on Southern cuisine! A must try if you live in town or you're visiting Winston-Salem! Ambiance: Mozelle's is located in a renovated home. The outside has a historic vibe, while the inside is intimate and contemporary. There's limited indoor seating so definitely make a reservation! Service: Our servers were very attentive and friendly. Food came out fast and hot. No complaints! Food: Edamame Hummus - delicious! The hummus had a creamy texture and a tangy taste to it. The naan on the side was nicely spiced and seasoned! Fried Pickles - perfectly crunchy and savory. The spicy ranch served on the side paired well with the briny pickles! Tomato Pie - flakey crust with a great cheese to tomato ratio! The creamy edamame and corn succotash complimented the acidity of the tomato. Caramel Peach Shortcake - The shortcake itself wasn't overly sweet and the peach caramel sauce was delicious! Bourbon Pecan Bread Pudding - just divine! The candied pecans provided a nice texture to accompany the soft pudding covered in caramel. TL;DR - Ambiance is charming and the service is great! Our highlights included the edamame hummus, tomato pie, and caramel peach shortcake!

Yelp
While visiting the Winston-Salem, NC area. My hubby and I got a chance to dine at this lovely establishment without a reservation. We had a 30 minute wait, and boy was it worth it! We took the first available seating, which was outside dining on a chilly evening; however, they provided personal heaters and blankets to each guest! The service was outstanding and the wine and entrees were amazing. If we're ever in the area again, this establishment will definitely be on the itinerary.

Chelsea R.

Yelp
It had been too long since I'd been to Mozelles. This was one of our first stops on my birthday weekend and I loved getting to try a few of the dishes. That tomato pie is something you'll want to write home about but truly everything was delicious. The fried pickles were some of the best I've ever had! Chicken Gnocchi Southern Reuben Tomato Pie Fried pickles Mocktail spritzer

Ana H.

Yelp
So some of the things I ordered might not be on their recent menu, but every little bite we had that day was delicious, I'm still dreaming about edamame hummus, the first time trying it, and wow, it blew my mind away. The place is very cozy, their staff is very friendly and they know their menu so they can guide you into picking the perfect dish. What we had? - Edamame Hummus - Fried Pickles - Mushroom Pasta w/Fried Chicken - Beef Short rib - Vanilla bean creme brûlée

Rena H.

Yelp
A dreamy restaurant with an excellent menu. I've had my eye on the tomato pie for a while and finally took the plunge - it surpassed my expectations. So good! Mozelle's is a one of a kind space. It's upscale but stays humble and quaint. The dishes speak for themselves. This is a great place to take guests to. The ambiance is wonderful, service is kind, and you already know how I feel about the food. Not pictured are the gritpuppies- do yourself a favor and order them.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Adorable quaint restaurant in Winston. It has a true Southern feel to it and beautiful outdoor and indoor ambiance. It is a small place so I would recommend getting reservations if possible. We were sat right away, our waitress was friendly and our food came out quickly and was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't been.

Chelsea Y.

Yelp
I cannot believe it took me this long to try Mozelle's. Several people have recommended this place, and now I see why! They definitely live up to their reputation. There is limited seating, but they offer options both inside and outside. We had a reservation and were seated in a cute booth inside where we could see our food being made from one side and the window facing outside on the other. Service was excellent. We started off by getting two of their wine cocktails and southern spring rolls. The wine cocktails were so refreshing and bubbly. For the main course, I had the tomato pie. I never imaged that flaky dough and tomatoes could be combined into a dish that is so delicious. The tomatoes were cooked perfectly and were not mushy at all! The pie came with corn and edamame on the bottom, both of which added a nice crunchy texture. For dessert, we ordered the bourbon pecan bread pudding with caramel sauce. It was served warm, and I ended up finishing the whole thing despite how full I was. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their delicious drinks and food items!

Shannon D.

Yelp
The flatbread was absolutely everyone's favorite thing. So amazing! Fried pickles weren't too greasy or too salty so I was pleased! The fried chicken was delicious as well.

Chris T.

Yelp
We've been here for brunch before but wanted to try it out for dinner, especially since it was a short walk from our hotel in downtown WS. We sat at a table outside and, despite it being in the low-40s, they do a great job of being able to seat people outside and not freeze (they had blankets and a personal space heater). I got the meatloaf and we tried the spring rolls. Both were really, really good. I didn't read the menu well and the meatloaf comes with collards. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of collards, but it worked out because my wife got a side of mac and cheese, so we made the switch (I definitely came out on top of that transaction!). Our server was sweet and even brought out a candle for our dessert since it was my wife's birthday. The only bummer, and this is not on the business, is that there were a LOT of college students here, talking VERY loud about things we didn't care about. I feel very much my age and it was a get-off-my-lawn kinda moment, but our server was very understanding and allowed us to move to a different spot to get away from the commotion. A great experience, nonetheless, and we look forward to going again!

Stephan M.

Yelp
This place feels like a small European cafe but is more of a southern bistro with a modern flare! It is a little small so can be hard to get in during peak times. Almost all dishes include southern influence but are done in a more upscale modern way. The southern spring rolls are always the first thing we order! Some dishes are more traditional like the double cheeseburger and the fried chicken, both of which are very delicious!

Carmelita T.

Yelp
We have caught them on an off day. The Salmon was over cooked, the grits were not flavorful and the meatloaf was a complete miss. The service was great and our experience was out of our servers control. Definitely didn't want to complain as they have been so good on past visits but today if it was my first time going I would not want to return.

Tara M.

Yelp
Mozelle's is definitely a must visit staple in Winston-Salem! They have an intriguing selection filled with upscale southern cuisine. Their classy ambiance consists of intimate indoor seating as well as outdoor seating options lined down the sidewalk. We would definitely advise to make a reservation when visiting Mozelle's as they are a hot spot to dine at. The staff is always helpful and informative about their current selection. On our most recent visit, we started off with a small plate of naan that could have used some butter or a sauce, but was still a delightful start. Our two entrees were fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and green beans and the chef's double cheeseburger with french fries. Every single aspect of the fried chicken dish was scrumptious. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and full of flavor. The chicken was moist and the skin was so crispy. The green beans were fresh and had a perfect snap. The cheeseburger consisted of juicy layers of flavor that were quite enjoyable. We usually do not order dessert, but this time we made room! We ordered the bourbon pecan bread pudding with caramel sauce and it was oh so delectable. Between the soft bread, the sweet caramel sauce, and the pecans on top, the dessert was packed full of different dimensions of flavor.

Dee B.

Yelp
I've been here several times now for various occasions - celebrating a friends engagement, family dinner, TGIF, etc, and it has never disappointed. The food is phenomenal, fresh, tasty, and I could just go on. Service is great too, and the wine selection is perfect. I love sitting outside when the weather is nice, but even the inside area is cute, clean, and cozy. The fried chicken dinner and shrimp and grits are my favorites so far, but I really enjoyed the tomato pie as well.

Monica M.

Yelp
Food was great, we didn't like the fried pickles but our main meals were great! if you sit outside be prepared to hangout with some bees. Overall we enjoyed our lunch and plan to come back!

Karen T.

Yelp
Mozelle's is our favorite all-around restaurant in Winston-Salem - for special occasions, bringing out of towners, and fancy lunch. It introduced to us two classic Southern dishes: fried pickles and tomato pie. Over the last 2 years we've done meals with Mozelle's pretty much all the ways - take out, sit down on the patio, eating at the bar, and indoor tables. Service is consistently great, regardless of where we were sitting or how busy they got. The food is also always on point (my only regret is learning about the edamame hummus so late in the game!). And the dog friendly patio meant we could bring our furry friend with us, which is not something we take for granted in North Carolina. Blankets, heat warmers and cute little lamps dial up the ambience out there for sure. Favorite pro tips: -Ordering to go, the succotash with the tomato pie is just bigger and better :) -Grilled pimento cheese and tomato soup for lunch is the perfect cold weather treat. -Put in your name, then walk over to Milner's for a drink while you wait for a table on busy nights.

Mike F.

Yelp
This is an ok place. Food is good, service is excellent, but it will be a while before we go back. The menu is somewhat limited - and there is NO steak. Beef choices are short rib and a double cheeseburger (Big Mac style - only better). It was a chilly evening and we arrived without a reservation. The hostess said we can seat you outside, with heater and blanket. Others seemed comfortable, so we said ok. Service was prompt and friendly. We told Sophia we were on BBC a schedule for a theater event. She acted quickly and got us out on schedule. We started with Pimento Cheese Grits appetizer. Great flavor. My only complaint was it was served with chips out of a bag.

Montana H.

Yelp
We love Mozelle's! We always come here with reservations for special occasions, and sometimes we pop in for dinner to sit at the bar or on the patio! Our favorites are the tomato pie and the fried chicken! Service is always excellent, and it's a nice intimate ambiance!

Yelp
INTRO: Mozelle's Southern Bistro is an extremely well-known restaurant in Winston Salem. I was excited to try this new restaurant since I've heard so many good things about it. When I was walking to the restaurant, I was surprised to see how beautifully decorated the restaurant was. The outdoor seating was well lit with fairy lights, and everything was in white, from the tables to the chairs. The interior is equally as beautifully decorated, and they're able to maximize their seating arrangements in such a small space. The open kitchen also allows for customers to enjoy the wonderful aroma as they wait for their foods. ENTREE 1: $26 Mushroom pasta w/ chicken (parmesan cream, roasted local mushrooms, crispy sage) - I was honestly disappointed with this dish. The chicken was extremely dry, and the pasta had a little to no flavor. The pasta sauce barely had any flavor as well. I did not feel like this dish was worth $26. I've had better pasta at the Cheesecake Factory for a much cheaper price. And honestly I've made better pasta at home. ENTREE 2: $21 Fried chicken (boneless springer mountain chicken breast, mac + cheese, green beans + peach chutney) - This dish was a miss for me as well. The best thing about this meal was the peach chutney. The chicken was extremely dry and the mac & cheese barely had any flavor. I was extremely disappointed. WORTH IT? Not really, I wouldn't come back here again unless something changes about their food, and the total cost of this meal set me back over $65. OVERALL? Although the restaurant is beautifully decorated there and is a fantastic date spot, their decoration does not make up for the lack of flavor and the dryness of their food. I've heard so many great things about this restaurant, so I had very high hopes but was unfortunately let down. Perhaps they were having a bad day, but I wouldn't risk another meal here for their price point.

Yelp
Many of my friends have hyped Mozelle's up, so I'm a bit disappointed about my experience for dinner. I would definitely come back for brunch which seems to be a more popular time to go and to give them a second chance. Customer service was overall very nice and good. My partner and I came for an anniversary and was sad about the quality of the food. We had reservations so seating/wait wasn't an issue. The interior and exterior decoration were beautiful, the lighting was very romantic. I got the mushroom pasta with chicken ($26) and was VERY disappointed. The pasta was al dente but the chicken was very dry and the parmesan cream and roasted mushrooms were both very underwhelming. I was expecting something similar to my very favorite and flavorful mushroom pasta from the Cheesecake Factory (Da Vinci pasta, which is more affordable) which may be my fault. My partner got the fried chicken ($21) which was also very underwhelming. The chicken was well fried and decently seasoned and the peach chutney was a nice addition. The mac and cheese was too salty for our preference and the green beans were... green beans. We opted to not order dessert.

Yelp
So glad we found this place while traveling through NC. The neighborhood was cozy. The food was amazing and the service exceptional.

Yelp
Our first time here, and a great first impression. We arrived without reservations, but the charming host assured us we would be seated in about twenty minutes, and we were. We dined Al fresco on the walkway in front of the restaurant. It was wonderfully appointed with a combination of real and plastic shrubs. The tables all had an umbrella over them which helped keep the heat at our table from the individual electric heaters at each table. They also supplied blankets for your legs if you desired. Each table had a perfect little LED light that illuminated the table top. Our server was very friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. She checked on us the right amount of time. My wife and I shared a house side salad. It was excellent with their house dressing. I had a glass of their house red wine, which was equally good. Main dish was the shrimp and grits. It was wonderful. Rich, smooth creamy grits with tender shrimp and small chopped ham pieces (which I much prefer to andouille sausage). Very cheesy and tasty. Just the right size serving too. We finished with the bourbon pecan bread pudding. One serving was plenty for two people. It was warm, gooey deliciousness. A perfect end to a great meal.

Yelp
Mozelle's Fresh Southern Bistro in Winston-Salem is a delightful culinary haven. The ambiance exudes charm, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The star of the show, Mozelle's Benedict, is a brunch masterpiece. The poached eggs are perfection, nestled atop a bed of savory ham and a heavenly biscuit. The hollandaise sauce is a symphony of flavors--creamy, tangy, and expertly seasoned. Each bite is a journey through Southern comfort, leaving a lasting impression. Mozelle's attention to detail and commitment to fresh, local ingredients elevate the dining experience. A visit to this bistro is not just a meal; it's a celebration of Southern culinary excellence.

Yelp
We came to Mozzelle's for a late brunch on Sunday. Thankfully we only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table outside. I thought the heaters and blankets at each table were a nice touch. Staff was very friendly; wait times for food seemed to vary significantly (over 30 minutes for entrees for us, less than 10 minutes for the table across from us). We ordered the "go back to bed" sandwich and southern spring roll appetizer. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, slightly crispy on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside, with the just the right amount of seasoning. The chicken was a little dry and overcooked in some parts. I'm also not sure how patrons are supposed to eat it when eggs are added. It would be way too messy by hand and the supplied knife cannot cut through the sandwich without mashing everything up. I agree with another reviewer in that presentation is suprisingly...not good. The spring rolls just seem to be randomly thrown on the plate. My sandwich looked sloppily put together with a lot of dead space on the plate. Mozelle's is by no means perfect (really wish Yelp would allow half stars), but we both enjoyed our meal and would come back here again to try other dishes.

Yelp
I hadn't heard of tomato pie until coming here. If you are a lover of tomatoes, cheese, and pie crust well friends than meet your new favorite dish. It's light, but hearty and full of flavor. I also ordered fried pickles, but we were so hungry we didn't photograph it we just ate. I wish I would have had room for dessert because that menu looked delicious. For a small quaint cafe, they crank out some amazing food.

Yelp
Mozelle's is one of Winston's best brunch spots. It's a cool old space with great views from the outside tables. We had to wait a bit as walk ups Sunday afternoon, but we were seated pretty quick. The food came out quickly and the service was great. The food was really, really tasty! I ordered the fried chicken with Mac and cheese. The mac and cheese needs to be mentioned in the best in town conversations! The texture and flavors were awesome. The chicken was a boneless piece fried s perfectly. They came together to make a great brunch!

Yelp
Food, so good. Flatbread and mushroom pasta with chicken was perfect. Spring rolls on point. Service was great. Desserts were fabulous. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was swift even though it was lunch time. We were seated within minutes of arriving. Outdoor seating was family friendly

Yelp
The food was excellent. Fennel Fries and perfect fried pickles were delicious. Would have liked to have kept the goddess dressing from the fennel fries to enjoy with the entree fries. But it was whisked off before I knew it. The service was adequate. Tight space for anyone to work freely in. Should have opted for an outdoor table. But first time there. So didn't realize how tight the indoor seating is. Next time, outdoors. And there will be a next time. The food is definitely makes it worth a visit.

Yelp
My favorite place I stopped while traveling-definitely worth driving out of the way for! The environment was special. The fried pickles were the best fried pickles I've ever had and the steak + cheese sandwich was equally phenomenal. They couldn't have been any better. The ingredients were fresh and full of flavor. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in the area.
