My sister and I decided to escape the LA traffic and unwind after a day of shopping around Abbot Kinney and Marina Del Rey. We were drawn in by the promise of an all-day happy hour--who could resist?
As we stepped inside, we couldn't help but notice that while the ambiance had potential, cleanliness seemed to take a backseat (thankfully, the bathroom was in decent shape). With high hopes, we kicked off our experience with their house margarita. Oh boy! It was a puzzling concoction that left us grimacing after just a few sips. It's such a simple drink, but I wondered if the ingredients had seen better days!
Just when we were about to throw in the towel, the owner noticed our struggle and graciously offered us a shot of their frozen Cocoa de Rasta. What a game-changer! This drink was a delightful burst of flavor that completely turned our spirits around. I had to order one for myself--it was that good!
Feeling a bit peckish, we decided to try the smash burger. While it was juicy and satisfying, it didn't quite have the wow factor we were hoping for. It filled the void, but I wouldn't brag about it to friends.
Perhaps it was just an off day or a Tuesday lull, but overall, I left feeling a tad disappointed. The kindness of the staff and that amazing frozen drink saved the day, but I'm not sure I'd rush back anytime soon. If you do decide to visit, maybe stick to those frozen delights!
