"New Dim Sum Kingdom opened right next to Dim Sum Garden in Chinatown, and now it’s a spring roll showdown. And like their next door neighbor, they’re cash only and have lots of dim sum, noodle dishes, and hot pot. But here, there’s also peking duck and fresh smoothies." - candis mclean, alison kessler

🍴 Great dining experience! First time at Dim Sum Garden and I was surprised. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The soup dumplings were hot, juicy, and full of flavor. The pickled cabbage fish was authentic and delicious, especially with the crispy scallion pancake. The highlight was the lava pumpkin buns — cute, creamy, and perfectly sweet without being heavy. Overall, tasty food, good prices, and a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back and recommend it to friends!

We had a good time at the New Dim Sum Kingdom. We just got an order of the spicy pork soup dumplings. They were fantastic, had a ton of flavor and good amount of pork. I liked them even a little better when adding some of the chili sauce that was on the table to them. Our only complaints were they advertised them as bogo outside on a board and that didn’t happen and advertised a % off your bill if paying in cash that they didn’t do either. Both we didn’t ask more about just enjoyed the experience and moved on but something to ask about if that’s the reason why you’re there. Service was friendly and the space was clean. Would get the dumplings again.

No Lao Gan Ma at the table. Hit the spot for late night chinese food. Chicken On a Stick was delicious as was the Egg Custard Buns. Don’t recommend the mushroom dumplings as they were a little flavorless. Fairly priced and large portions.

Amazing food and great atmosphere. We stopped in for just a few quick bites and had the shrimp toast, pork soup dumplings and crab Rangoons. All were absolutely amazing but the real star of the show was the soup dumplings. Rich in flavor and actually soupy! See my pics because I will be dreaming of them in the future! Also make sure to get a peak into the kitchen at the back of the restaurant you can see the wonderful chefs at work!! Super cool and tasty!!

This place has only been open for a few months. They got an extended food menu, including Cantonese dishes, Taiwanese dishes, and more. Went there for dim sum and wasn’t disappointed. The highlight of the day was definitely the chive dumplings (fried), very juicy and flavorful. The chicken skewers were a surprise too (I just wish they came with their own sauce instead of using the dumpling sauce for everything, as it can get a little dry). Attentive staff, and I would come again. Oh! Did I mention you can get a discount by paying with cash?

Staff is friendly and helps you right away. The stuffed shrimp was a little disappointing. While the flavor was good, there was little shrimp compared to the dim sum place right next to them and a little over fried. So if I had a preference I would get this specific dish at the other one. The tofu skin was very delicious. It’s filled with vegetables and ground pork. It’s always one of our favorite dishes when we get dim sum and it never disappoints. The vegetable dumplings are filled full with what looked to be Napa cabbage and other veg. I highly recommend eating with the dumpling sauce, chili oil, and soy sauce mix. It’s one of my favorite dipping sauce combos. If you don’t like spicy either soy sauce or dumpling sauce works as well! The Bok Choy was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The tofu and fish dish was good. It has a mellow taste but everything is cooked well. The fish is lightly breaded and the tofu is lightly fried but still so soft. The tofu can seem bland once you bite in because it’s a little “watery” but the fish and vegetables were cooked well and covered with plenty of sauce.

The reviews convince me to come, but it was disappointing! I ordered 5 kinds clearly and the waiter repeated my orders, too. Sadly, they forgot 2 kinds of them. During our visit, the restaurant was not busy, only few tables were occupied. After finishing 3 of our orders, the other waiter seemed to rush us by asking if we wanted to order more, but we were there waiting for 2 more orders. They checked and came back to tell us that they forgot. I really appreciate your honesty. The taste of the dishes was decent, and the portion is not so much compared to others. The place is bit narrow, too.

My friend and I were in the area for Lunar New Year Parade 2025. We knew we wanted soup dumplings. We stopped in and were very happy with our choice. She ordered the steamed pork soup dumplings + tea for the table + pork fried rice. The tea was spot on for a cold day. The 2 dishes were large enough for us to share. Both were delicious! I ordered crab Rangoon + beef dumplings + a can of Dr. Pepper. The dumplings were hot and very filling. The crab Rangoon was so creamy and crunchy. My dishes were also large enough to share. We each spent about $30, with a tip for the wonderful service we experienced even in the midst of a very busy day for them. We plan to come back when we are in the area.

Yelp
Went in for dinner on a hot day to try the new dim sum kingdom. Wanted to cool down a bit so ordered a taro smoothie. It was pretty standard flavor but more of a slushee instead of a smoothie. Pan fried dumplings were just okay, lacking a bit of that good fried flavor so maybe not fried long enough. Shrimp dumplings were also pretty standard. The spicy pork soup dumplings had a very tasty broth though wasn't necessarily spicy. I'll have to try their other soup dumplings or something with that tasty broth next time. Staff are quick to help order and bring food out, and refill drinks. Overall an average, straightforward spot to get a meal, thanks.

Yelp
my friend and i checked out this new dim sum place in chinatown when my usual go-to spot was closed, but we were underwhelmed. we walked in at 130-2pm on a wednesday, and the place was completely dead. the restaurant is quite large, but there was only one other customer in the entire place. the staff were friendly, but the person taking our order was clearly undertrained. he didn't know how to use the ipad and got our order wrong several times. another staff member, presumably the manager, came out to assist him. the food itself was mediocre. i was very disappointed by the pan-fried pork buns. they looked like ugly underfilled dough balls, nothing like the picture on the menu. the filling was sparse and the outer dough was too thick. the soup dumplings were decent, but the dough was also on the thicker side and several of the dumplings did not have soup. we also ordered the shrimp and pork shao mai and the chicken feet which were both decent. overall, this place was pretty mediocre and not worth the visit. plenty of better dim sum places in chinatown.

Yelp
We stopped by for a quick Monday lunch, and the place was quiet. Since we only wanted to try the Beijing duck, we ordered a half portion. The wait was longer than expected-over 20 minutes-but the duck itself was pretty good. They also serve dim sum, but the prices seemed high compared to other spots nearby. If you're just craving duck, it's decent, but there are more budget-friendly options in the area.

Yelp
First rate by all points, greatly enjoyed this classic Cantonese cuisine. Looking forward to returning!

Yelp
Same ambiance as the prior tenant here, Dim Sum Garden, had. They've moved over to 1024 Race. Meanwhile the new occupant has a similar menu. I had fried pork and vegetable dumplings, lotus leaf sticky rice, and shrimp Shu Mai. The service was friendly and helpful. Haven't sampled the soup dumplings yet - for many those were The reason to hit DSG. But so far so good.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service and fresh dim sum in a clean modern space. Price is very reasonable and portions are generous. Soup dumplings had a nice ginger kick and the chive shrimp dumplings were stuffed with yumminess.

Yelp
We had exceptional food and superb service even on busy Mother's Day. Everything was good for the Chicken on a Stick and Scallion Pancake to great for Lotus Leaf. The Black Salted Egg Custard Bun was addictive. I had the Rice Cake with Seafood which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Orange Beef was great. The Honey Walnut Shrimp looked amazing but I wasn't able to get a bite. I highly recommend the Iced Vietnamese Coffee.

Yelp
Scallion pancakes were delish, and dumplings are large. The service was very attentive for a BYO.

Yelp
My 15 year old says "authentic traditional cuisine and genuinely radiant people serving food" We all loved the food and it wasn't crowded like the other places. Definitely recommended

Yelp
Attentive service and high quality food. Food came out fresh and stayed hot in the stacked bamboo trays!

Yelp
Excellent dim sum and very good value for money. Love it! I especially liked the 5 different kinds of soup dumplings, the durian pastry and the spare ribs. Will come back.

Yelp
10/10 rating 10/10 Asian rating Hey this place was so good and a lifesaver at night! I was surprised by the good quality and enjoyed the walnut shrimp as well as their beef chow fun and wonton noodle soup, which was all great quality and delicous. We're Asian and this is certified good Chinese food lol. Yes give it a try. They were super nice and the food is quite good with a nice interior and very nice hours.

Yelp
The restaurant sat us quickly after my friend gave a bitchy look. Literally made another table move so we could sit. Could not ask for better customer service. Food came quickly. The Diet Cokes were crisp. The food was good. If you have to choose between New DimSum Kingdom and the place next door then choose this one. NDSK cares about its customers and it shows! I left full and satisfied.

Yelp
Found this new dim sum place that opened up. Fresh food and quick friendly service. Facilities are clean. Texture and flavor of the noodles are great! I'll be back to try more items on the menu!

Yelp
Went there for lunch on a Saturday. Ordered their fried dumplings, chive dumplings, mini wontons, and zhajiang mian. Would definitely recommend the zhajiang mian and the wontons. Fried dumplings were good but wish the chive dumplings were crispier. Service was fast and the place was comfortable.

Yelp
Warm. Friendly, quick service. Seems like a copycat of Dimsum Garden. All the food was good except for the soup dumplings. They were meatier but not much soup inside.

Yelp
service was great (loved our waiter, funny + attentive) and food was delicious - appreciated how the staff made sure to come by several times through the night to arrange and rearrange our courses and make it a smooth dining experience

Yelp
I entered New DimSum Kingdom completely by chance, and I was truly blown away by every aspect. For starters, given it was a viciously cold night, they immediately offered tea free of additional charge, in a lovely teapot and all, which was perfect for the cold. The food - I had the steamed pork buns and chicken soup dumplings - was absolutely delectable, all the meat perfectly seasoned and the dough of both an excellent texture, and I was especially partial to the fluffiness of the pork buns. All of it was at a fairly reasonable price given the quality. I chose to pay in cash because it was a bit cheaper, and I was given an additional discount because of this method, which speaks volumes to me. Notably, when I requested dessert, they brought me a complimentary ice cream, which was in more ways than one a sweet surprise. Overall, I highly recommend everyone if they have the chance to come in and patronize this restaurant. I certainly was not disappointed, and left fulfilled in more ways than one.
