The Best Hot Pot Spots In Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"At this Korean-style BYOB in Chinatown there’s a private room, comfortable booths, and dates fishing for the squid ring they plopped in the kimchi-style broth minutes ago. Boiling soup is the name of the game here. Like most places on this list, you can get individual bowls of broth, but if your friends are down to try a bunch, you can get up to three in a large basin. The spicy Thai is a must, along with the rolls of lamb shoulder and beef. Your table will get overcrowded with green onions, diced garlic, and a hybrid hoisin-soy sauce you just concocted at the topping station. But all that bowl carrying will help you work up an appetite. You can grill for just $5 extra" - candis mclean

Google
So I’ve been here many times, and I’ve had both hot pot and bbq. This time I decided to leave a review to share my experience with everyone and show what it’s like there. The hot pot here is $31, BBQ is $36, and both is $41. The food here’s great, lots of options for all kinds of meat and vegetables. My favorite was probably the short ribs, they’re already marinated with a nice sweet flavor. You can also make your own sauce for extra flavor. The server, guy with glasses, who brought us in could do better. He did not look happy to be there. Another thing I hope they can improve on is making better Bing Fan. The first time I was here, I absolutely loved it. But this time, there’s barely any rice, and it’s all honeydew and cantaloupes and a tiny bit of peanuts. I didn’t take a photo of that to share because it was just so sad. Hope to see some improvements next time so I can leave a better review.

Google
Amazing place!! The short ribs were great and tastes immaculate. They gave us a large bowl of rice and complementary oranges after we were done. The place has good ventilation and doesn’t smell like smoke when we grill. Great 😊 So good, our plates are empty.

Google
Love this hot pot place! I have been here twice now and they have a good variety of food options. You can select 1/2/3 different soups in one pot. I like to get the Chinese herbal and spicy ones. They also offer bbq but I haven’t tried that option yet. Birthdays are also free if you bring at least one person

Google
Friendly, helpful, and informative staff. We were asked to wait for about 15-20 minutes, so we picked up a few beers and was immediately seated upon our return. They served so much food... we didn't need to order more. The freshness and variety of the items were excellent. We would definitely come back and enjoy another meal soon! We were seated in the very front of the restaurant, so the foot traffic around us was high. The other negative thing was that it was hot. We were cooking hot pot and Korean BBQ over a very hot area and we wish there were fans and better A/C.

Google
Unenthusiastic, awkward, and lackluster. My eating experience here with a friend of mine was uncomfortable at times. Overall the most notable issue I had was the lack of explanation on how ordering worked, or even the literal existence of the sauce bar. The Food: The selection was just OK at best, but for the price I would have expected a bit more per-portion and a slightly wider offering in each protein (plenty of options for vegetables, though). Another small gripe/observation is that sometimes raw meats would be served on a piece of lettuce for visual effect, however it also results in the lettuce being unfit for consumption, and as a result, immediate waste. The hotpot selection and broths were pretty decent, and ofc the final flavor is dependent on your ingredients. I did like that the induction heaters for the hotpot were very effective in maintaining a high heat for cooking things quickly. Service: This is where I have the largest issue: hospitality. I'm unsure if it's due to staff fatigue or maybe new staff, but I was left a bit angry at how little attention was paid to our table. When we first asked our server for a few extra minutes of time to order, she downright didn't come back soon enough, we're talking like 10+ minutes (in a non-peak time, there were maybe 2 other tables in the restaurant at the time, and there were THREE servers on duty). Enough so that I had to flag down a DIFFERENT server to actually get the table's first orders through. Sauce bar. Did not even know it existed, wasn't told there was one either. Had to look awkwardly around to find it. I feel like there should have been some kind of a rundown on how ordering or the restaurant worked. Throughout the meal, my table had to flag down staff to get more orders in, they just weren't attentive enough (I'm not asking for mindless frequent check-ins, but observant check-ins if you notice the table is running low on food, etc...) and our initial server did not take a majority of our orders, another server did. This left a notable impression on the table throughout our meal. Atmosphere: Mediocre at best. I would say you have a somewhat close experience with the place being a KBBQ/Hotpot themed restaurant, however with the hard wood benches, and peeling finish on the tables, contrasting black veneer and wood/particleboard, it does detract from the assumed higher-class dining experience. As a note: the temperature management from the staff happened way to infrequently, and I had to be the one to manage the cooking temperatures of the grill to avoid absolutely charring the meats being cooked. Overall: I'm very disappointed in the level of service, lack of proper atmosphere, and food selection of the restaurant. This was my first time there, and unfortunately will be my last.

Google
I’m giving 1 star review because all food are not fresh most everything are Frozen (only vegetable are fresh) and my soup super oily can’t eat. So I ate only a little bit. After that meal my stomach sick for 4-5 days

Google
This was our first time at a place like this in America, and it was great! The portions of meat were generous and delicious, and the staff were quick to change out our grill plate as needed and very attentive. It's a wonderful dining experience for a group and I wish we had a location close to us.

Google
The whole experience was great. My granddaughter loves Korean food. Leave it to her to find a Korean BBQ/ hot pot restaurant in Chinatown as soon as we got there. None Ting was beautiful inside, clean . The service was great. You don't just have one waiter , anybody helps you with whatever you need. The kids loved it .

Yelp
Love this place. First of all the soup bases are great. But the sauce station has so many of the flavors that I enjoy from peanut to sesame to Korean barbecue and soy. The hot pot of course is very good, but that's the same at many of the other places but separates this one is the price is more reasonable. The service is top-notch. This particular Jenny is my waitress and she just killed it. She was the best! Looking forward to next trip to Philadelphia so I can come back

Yelp
I realized that I go here all the time for hot pot but never review it since it's such a regular spot for me! I went here last week with some friends and had a completely vegetarian hot pot meal for the first time (in a restaurant). The waitress was very accommodating since we can't eat chives, onions, garlic, et cetera. We ordered the herbal and mushroom broth in a duel hot pot. All of the vegetables, protein, udon, were fresh and delicious. The waitress checked in on us a perfect amount of time to take our orders and cater to our needs. We came here on a Sunday evening, and there were only a couple of tables full, but I can vouch that it's usually more packed. The sauces station were refreshed and plentiful. The vibes are always right here. My friends loved it, and they're so excited to come here again. Even though we didn't order meats this time, I typically order meats, and I can admit that the meats here aren't as juicy or as high quality--compared to other places like K-Pot. I'm not a big meat eater anyways, so Nine Ting is absolutely perfect for me. As always, thank you Nine Ting for being my go-to hot pot restaurant in PA.

Yelp
I took the family out to try Korean BBQ. This is an all you can eat restaurant with plenty, plenty, of options from beef and vegetables to seafood. You can add onto the base price for an extra five dollars to get a Hot Pot Soup which adds plenty of new options to eat and to try. The restaurant is very nice and sleek. The tables were clean, the cooking area clean and the restrooms were clean. You scan the menu on your phone, the wait staff comes and you order what you'd like. The food is brought raw and then you cook it on the table's built in BBQ (there are separate burners for the Hot Pot). There is only one grilling station which makes it awkward for tables larger then two people. Some of the staff were extremely friendly. Other staff were courteous but rushed with less patience. The food is brought on large platters. It was very difficult to figure out which meat was what as many of the proteins look the same. When I asked one waiter, he explained it, but not thorough enough and too rushed for me to remember what he said. They changed the BBQ grill several times to remove the burnt food debris. It's unlimited so you can order away. Now, the meat itself is not Grade-A meat. It can't be for that price. It's a bit fatty, which you need for the grill. It's good though. The salt and fat in the meat coupled with the BBQ grill makes the food taste pretty good. Your fingers will swell later from the salty meat. On the table are some trimmings and there is a whole station of lots of sauces and seasonings to cook with. The meal ends with juicy oranges brought to the table. Now folks, this is not a place to come if you want fine dining Korean BBQ. This is NOT a premium steak house in any way. This is a place that's a fun experience where you can try a lot of different meats and seafood. What I love about it was that the food takes a bit of time to cook which allows you to hang out with your company and not feel rushed at all. This whole local area has dozens of restaurants to choose from. If I'm back in the area I might try another place as there are a lot of inviting places. But, I would not have a tantrum if my family wanted to come back. I enjoyed my experience very much.

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times for hot pot and each time a member of the group has been celebrating a birthday as the birthday person enjoys a free meal! The service is pretty standard, not overly attentive but if you need something a server is around to assist. The portions of the food brought to the table are very reasonable and the produce has always been fresh - I love the fried tofu! The highlight is the sauce bar - they do have a little guide to help you make something you'll enjoy but if you're like me you'll make a few mistakes until you find a combination you enjoy. I love that each meal has ended with a little ice cream and fresh fruit. It's a good place for a 4-6 person group! Just remember it's a BYOB!

Yelp
I am a first timer to the Korean BBQ & hot pot. It was a family gathering of 8, so we decided to do both. Wow, we were lucky to get a private room. I had to get the hang of using the hot pot & grill. They have so many options for the seafood lover bs meat lover. And so much food but you need to remember that you will get charged if you don't eat most of the food. Overall a great time to have good food, good conversation and a cooking experience for my kids. Next time we wouldn't do both it in one visit. It became overwhelming. Oh & we didn't know it was BYOB!

Yelp
Nine Ting in Chinatown is a culinary paradise blending Korean barbecue and hot pot. The ambiance is a perfect mix of modern chic and inviting warmth. The Korean barbecue experience is a masterpiece, with melt-in-your-mouth meats and expert guidance from the staff. The hot pot journey offers a symphony of broths and a vibrant array of fresh ingredients. The communal experience around the bubbling cauldron fosters togetherness. What sets Nine Ting apart is the meticulous attention to detail, especially in crafting dipping sauces that elevate the entire dining experience. Leaving Nine Ting, I felt a profound sense of satisfaction. It's not just a meal; it's an immersive journey into Korean culinary excellence. Five stars feel inadequate -- Nine Ting is a gastronomic symphony that leaves you craving more.

Yelp
Korean BBQ is always a yes for the family. We tried Nine Ting and found it to be just as good as all the others we've tried. I didn't like the sauces, they tasted funny to me, the food however was fresh, I loved the option for seafood, not everyone has that. It was busy, our server was over it, and made us well aware of it. Didn't hold it against her because my boys were also annoying with all the questions. It's not a fancy restaurant, but it's ideal for large parties and you cannot beat their price point. I've eaten at Korean BBQ restaurants where 2 -3 people costs well in to the 200(s) plus tip. This place was not overpriced at all.

Yelp
Good food. Good flavor. Decent size portions. The staff was fairly courteous, but the ambiance was a bit meh.
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
Standard Korean bbq, not exceptionally mind blowing. Their portions are a bit smaller which I like and I'm sure saves them from food waste. It's all you can eat so just order more if needed or ask for 2 servings at a time. There's a fully equipped sauce bar to the side of the restaurant. They give you four complimentary side dishes: kimchi, seaweed salad, peanuts and an unknown 4th ( I didn't try it). A bit subaverage but it's just sides so no big deal. They were pretty busy but we were able to flag down staff pretty easily when we wanted to order more. Interior was nice and bathroom was clean.

Yelp
TLDR: Come for hot pot, skip for KBBQ. I've been here once for hot pot, and once for KBBQ. The hot pot selection is excellent, 5/5 and couldn't ask for anything different. Good selection of meats, veggies, broth was tasty. However, we had a larger party of people another time and wanted to do KBBQ. The main issue is that they could only do it on an induction stove top, which doesn't provide nearly the right amount of heat necessary to cook anything. If you came hungry with a large party, you may need a calendar to track the time for how long it would take for all of you to be full. What didn't make sense either was there were certain things for hot pot that couldn't be used for kbbq. Like the sliced lamb I would think would taste great grilled, but we couldn't order it. The food actually didn't taste that bad, and it was interesting to have the full hot pot sauce bar that you could use. But if you do come here, do it with a smaller party, or just do hot pot.

Yelp
Hungry? You wont be after eating here. We got the combo hot-pot and Korean BBQ. Its all you can eat so just point to all the goodies you want them to bring to your table. My group tried 4 different broths so we got a little bit of everything. Loved the veggies and noodles in the hot pot.

Emily C.

Yelp
Great food and service! Love the free ice cream and desserts after. Jenny was the best waitress
google avatar

Yelen P.

Yelp
Pretty good hot pot place, worth the money if you bring your appetite. Two-hour limit. My biggest issue was that we were seated outside a private room of a group of loud college students. After they left, it was better. The staff were attentive but not intrusive, checking in frequently enough for us to continue to order more food. They were efficient, taking orders and bring food quickly. They also filled the soup base as necessary. In the bathroom, they ask you not to flush paper down the toilet. The wifi password is the phone number of the restaurant (written on the paper on the wall next to your table). - Pig bone soup, spicy soup, thin sliced beef, thin sliced lamb, fuzhou fish ball (has filling), cabbage, bok choy - Mushroom, oyster mushroom, crabmeat stick, thin sliced pork - Pumpkin, corn, spinach, fish fillet - Fish dumpling, fried tofu
google avatar

Helen W.

Yelp
There's lots of options for KBBQ and you get your money's worth. There's a sauce station with lots of options as well. The staff was nice but could be more attentive. I had to ask for our drink orders like 3xs. Also I don't recall any staff that came to check on us so we had to flag them down and try to get their attention whenever we needed something. The grill takes a very long time to cook the meat. Overall the experience is good and I would come back.. Also BYOB !

Yelp
Worst dinner I've ever paid for! This was without a doubt the worst Korean BBQ place I've ever been to. The meat was horrible quality and on top the grill was so weak it took 20 minutes to cook a piece of meat. We complained on the price and they immediately lowered the price because they knew how poor the experience was. They also had the gall to charge a 25 percent gratuity when they barely attended to us.
google avatar

Phia Marie C.

Yelp
An eat all you can korean bbq and hotpot at Chinatown, Philly! The quality of the meat is not the best but it's okay. The beef was a little bit hard to chew and not very flavorful. Service is fast in comparison to other kbbq i have been to. The place has a nice interior, clean and very spacious!
google avatar

Crystal C.

Yelp
I've tried a lot of KBBQ that has been served in different ways but I have to say this was probably my least favorite. We went for dinner and they only give you 3 side dishes - seaweed salad, kimchi, and edamame. We got the seafood pancake which was decent but not much seafood in there. Meat selection was okay... we didn't do the hot pot combination, which seemed to have a lot more options than the bbq. A lot of the meat isn't seasoned... there's a bar you go to get sauce and seasonings... wasn't really sure if we were supposed to use this to cook our meats in....I used it mostly as a dip. Rice was brought out in a big bowl and not individually. Our grill wasn't hot enough so it took a long time to get our food cooking... finally waved someone over and they fixed it for us... said they would give us a discount since it took so long but that didn't happen. Honestly we were almost done eating by the time someone finally fixed it and I just wanted to go. I wouldn't frequent again but I think it's one of the few places that had KBBQ in Philadelphia.

Yelp
Many great options for AYCE. Meats were fresh! Staff was courteous and prompt. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Cara B.

Yelp
It's all you can eat, and BYOB. We did the all you can eat Korean BBQ, and our favorite meats were the curry chicken and the beef ribs. Also, you have to try the pineapple on the grill. It gets so good when it gets caramelized. Also, we really love the broccoli and the asparagus. The kimchi was delicious, a little bit sour which we love. The sauce buffet was so much fun and we were able to try a lot of the sauces.

Yelp
I love coming here! The first time I went was for my birthday 2 years ago & I loved it. The workers were consistent and very friendly. The food was great, easy to make. They show you how to do it in the beginning so you're not stuck. It's a space to hang out and talk while eating some good food. I would recommend coming here it's a 10/10 for me

Yelp
Very nice place. We ordered ayce bbq and it delightful. Must try is the lamb and the duck. We always get a beef tong but here it was a bit chewy. Still 4 out of 5. Kim chi is spicy fyi. The service is on point. We can at 3pm and it was between the rush hours but we got all we needed in a matter of time. Leo was awesome and overall service was great. And they give you melon at the end. Yummy. Overall it's a win. They don't sell alcohol but you can bring your own. The ladies on the next table were very nice and offered us their elegy vier wine. Cheers to that. 5 star. I will come back.

Yelp
This was a fun and delicious experience with excellent, helpful service! Definitely get the kimchi hot pot with boo Choi and bbq short ribs. Chef's kiss!

Yelp
While taking a nice stroll through Chinatown on a lovely Saturday afternoon my family and I became hungry. Family vote was for something we couldn't get back home so AYCE Korean BBQ won. We were sat at a table with an in table grill. Since it was our first time the staff helped us with setting everything up. The selection of meats and sides is very good. Lots of options to choose from . There is also a sauce bar that you can make a nice marinade or dip for the meat. Food comes out very quickly. Our servers were very nice and filled our requests fast. All and all price was right, food was good and servers were nice. I'd come back.

Yelp
Hungry to come Chinatown looking for a good KBBQ spot, I had completely forgotten I had come to Nine Ting 2 years ago for Hotpot -- one of my favorite memories from 2019. As I entered, everything was the exact same as I left it (except more COVID-friendly precautions). Ordering from the KBBQ menu, we were hit with a decent number of options to satisfy our appetites. The small plates came as we decided to get the beefs, lamb, and chicken. The plates were good except the Kimchi didn't appear fresh. For a chinese place that runs Korean barbecue, the options were as we expected. While this might not have the same taste as a Korean BBQ place, you can be left satisfied with the meal provided at Nine Ting. We spent around nine-ty(ng) dollars on the meal without tip, but I would still prefer the hotpot. (Tip: ask for lettuce when getting KBBQ)
google avatar

Fayzaan N.

Yelp
Came in at a later date for a second trip, was very shocked because we were completely ignored by servers, unless we flagged them. No water refills, no meat was brought out to us. Orders were forgotten multiple times even if asked. Then at the time of payment, I didn't tip because the service was absolutely unacceptable. Waitress came to inform me that I didn't tip, at which point i informed her the service was absolutely unacceptable, listing the reasons stated. She went back and the staff proceeded to glare at my party and speak amongst themselves for the last few minutes of our dinner.

Yelp
The Korean BBQ was good! Tons of good cuts of meats and vegetables. They also offer a good hot pot as well

Naja J.

Yelp
This is by far the most uncomfortable dining experience i've had since I was there the first time I've been here which is years ago. They haven't changed, I rarely feel racially profiled in chinatown but they take cake . Food is (kinda) not worth it.
google avatar

Alicia R.

Yelp
Best hotpot in Philly! So many choices for both hotpot and kbbq. The all the choices are also super fresh and service was great to make sure we had everything we needed. The sauce station had lots of options and it's byob!

Yelp
My friend and I wanted some hot soup to warm us up during this cold weather so we stopped by here after work. We were actually the only customers dining in today; however, it is a Tuesday so that was expected. It was roughly $28/person for AYCE hot pot; not too bad! We also brought our own alcohol (soju) to go with our meal. For broth choice, we chose the standard original and chinese herbal. We've tried the spicy broth before and it was too oily/lacked in flavor. The original doesn't have much flavor either but it gets more flavorful as it becomes more concentrated with the vegetables/meats in the end. Herbal broth had a bit more flavor and depth than the original, but it has relatively the same base flavor. Banchan that was served was pretty standard. The kimchi was too fermented for me, reminded me of pre-made kimchi I buy at H-mart. We were STARVING so we ordered a bunch of things: thinly sliced beef, lamb, and pork for meats (at least 3-4 rounds of each), watercress, spinach, enoki, oyster mushroom, fish tofu, meatballs, tofu skin, fried tofu skin, fish filet, fish ball, ramen noodles, etc. I've been to other hot pot joints that have more choices in beef/vegetables for hot pot, but they have the standard go-to choices. Their meats were relatively fresh and tender. I ate my meats and veggies with my go-to DIY sauce: sesame paste, peanut butter, dash of soy sauce, dash of hot chili oil, scallions, and big spoonful of garlic. So delicious for hot pot! Overall, this is a decent AYCE spot in Chinatown with fair prices and standard choices.

Yelp
This place was super packed on saturday night so we came back next day and was able to get in. The place offers hot pot and korean bbq all you can eat or combo. We got hot pot as bbq had longer wait. The hot pot qas fantastic! Broth was cery rich and tasty and you can get 3 types. The selection of meat and veggies is great and well worth the price you pay. One thing i would say is they lack variety of sauces that normally would be in hot pot. The service is quick and food comes out fast. Meats taste fresh and good quality. The veggies also taste fresh. The environment is packed, not as much light, but overall quiet enough to have a nice dinner. This place is great if you are hungry and are willing to spend about 30 bucks per head

Yelp
Great option for all you can eat Korean BBQ. Come here on an empty belly because you will definitely leave full. Everything cooks quickly, the beef is definitely my favorite. It brings me great pleasure dipping my beef in some house Korean bbq sauce. Our table was sanitized, before sitting. The waiters/waitresses are very attentive and will keep your stove clean and your water full. I definitely will be back!

Yelp
I am a huge fan of Korean BBQ so this was some place I just needed to try while I was in Philly. But I was just overall disappointed in this place. To start off with the tables are old and kind of falling apart. Or maybe our table caught on fire? I have no idea but not visually appealing. For the food, not that large of a selection to pick from. I did like that their was a seafood pancake option. It was good, not very seafood-ish but tasty. For meats, my favorite was the beef filet. Very nice pieces of meat, cooked really well and were just tasty. We also got pork belly, it was just okay, and marinated beef short ribs. The short ribs were marinated in a great sauce but overall the pieces we were given were all fat and cartilage. I'd rather not have to fight to take a bite out of something so I left those to my brother. We got some veggies to cook on the grill just as filler. The biggest disappointment of this place were the sides. Which are usually the best part of Korean bbq this place basically didn't even try with sides. Kimchi, peanuts seaweed salad and edamame. Nothing fun or special. What I did like about this place was the sauce bar. Not very covid friendly but they have a great selection of different sauces to use. Loved the homemade chili oil!

Yelp
This was my first experience with Korean BBQ and I am blown away! A group of friends and I were able to get one of the private rooms (10 person minimum) for Friday night at 9:30 PM. We made the reservation pretty last minute, so we were thrilled to be able to snag one of the rooms! We packed up a few coolers with drinks to take advantage of the fact that Nine Ting is BYOB, and came hungry for some All You Can Eat fun. Our group included one Korean BBQ pro, so he took the lead on ordering and cooking. Right away, we were greeted by the staff and brought water, cups for our BYO drinks, and small dishes of peanuts, kimchi, and seaweed salad to snack on while we waited for the meat and veggies to arrive. From what I could tell, my friend that took the lead placed an order for our "first round" right away, and that came within 10 minutes. The server that brought the food helped us set up the grills and even stayed a bit longer to help us cook because she wanted to make sure everyone got something to eat right away. Of the meats we tried, I really enjoyed the steak and pork belly. The chicken we ordered was also delicious, and had a great seasoning/marinade situation. We also helped ourselves to the plentiful selection of sauces, and mixed some of our own per the guidance from our KBBQ pro. From start to finish, this was a great evening and I want to make this a regular occurrence. For about $40 total per person (with tax, tip, mixer drinks, etc), this was worth every single penny!

Good hotpot in philly's china town. Came out to about $30 a person. Looking forward to coming back for kbbq

Yelp
Hearty hot pot with generous helpings of protein, veggies, and noodles! Love the ability to choose multiple sauce bases. Only concern is the slippery floors through which servers rush boiling pots of broth merely as a safety thing, but they seem to have it covered!

Yelp
It was great and all that they were able to accommodate a group of 7 on a Saturday late afternoon. The patience of the wait staff to take our confused and mumbled order from 7 different people was amazing. However, if I'm about to pay almost $50 for an all you can eat hotpot and Korean BBQ experience, I expect to be wowed by the food or at least a handful of items. The quality and taste of the food was a bit below average in all honesty. The cuts of meat with very fatty. The steak cubes were too peppery. The wait for food was a bit hectic. They did forget a few items, despite taking our order via tablet. They weren't particularly attentive during dinner. This could be because we were in a room all the way in the back in all honesty. This was one of the few times I've been hotpotting and the soup was almost all evaporated.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem everyone should try. They offer hot pot and Korean BBQ all you can eat. It's super authentic food that is of great quality. I highly recommend just spending the extra money and doing both the All You Can Eat Hot Pot and Korean BBQ, you won't be disappointed. On top of the amazing food and unique experience, their service is top notch. They are very attentive when it comes to clearing plates, changing out your bbq grill, and making sure your hot pot has enough brother. I absolutely love this place!

Yelp
I am a procrastinator by nature. For this reason, I rarely ever write a review.....I usually start out with the best intentions but like a cat to a neon laser, I am easily distracted. In an attempt to save some other unfortunate schlub from parting with their hard earned money, I offer my thoughts on Nine Ting. Not an expert in the art of hot pot, but I appreciate a nice hot, scalding pot of liquid to which I throw in various food stuffs and quickly shovel it into my mouth using the age-old reverse blow technique. The part Nine Ting nailed with such zeal is the "scalding pot of liquid." That, unfortunately, is where it ends. Instead of a robust, spicy broth with hints of chili, Szechuan, and other aromatics, what I got was a thin, flat, flavorless, scalding vessel of liquid. Anticipating amazing flavor in that first bite, my taste buds were stunned and confused by the utter lack of anything resembling seasoning. Similarly, the meat options I chose (pork and lamb) were a big, fat meh. Had it not been for my mad scientist mixing at the sauce bar, the first half of the meal would have been an even larger disappointment. The veggie options were abundant and delicious so 1 star for that. Service was inattentive to the point where my patronage seemed like a bother. My dinner guest & I had to wave down a server for napkins and additional food stuffs (despite the mediocrity, I wanted my money's worth). Perhaps it was the time we dined, 9p on a Sunday, but something tells me that this is the norm and not the exception. I am so happy I didn't opt for the BBQ option because I would be in tears handing over my coins. The meal closed out with some watermelon slices -- 1 star. Overall, the experience was akin to getting socks for your birthday when you really wanted a Little Miss Magic. There are def better options for AYCE hot pot in the area.

Yelp
I've been to Nine Ting about 4-5 times, The first time my friend and I got the Korean Hot Pot & BBQ, the service was quick and friendly, everything was explained. My gf and I ordered a lot of extras (rice, etc), towards the end two men basically surrounded our table, we realized they thought we weren't going to pay, but we did, the end. Although we shouldn't have, we took it with a grain of salt and returned more times. Today, we returned again. We were seated and ordered our food quickly, upon getting our sauces the waitress started the grill and the butter burned, She gave us a hard time about switching it out before beginning to cook as if we were giving her a hard time. We enjoy our meal and the rest of the time but hadn't seen the waitress, although at times we needed her for (FREE protein/veggie refills, napkins, heat adjustment etc), all in all with this service received, we decided to not tip. Then Bing, another waiter brings and processed our check, as we leaving he's holding the check and in front of other customers says "no tip", I ask him is it required, he said no "we served you", I stated the lack of service was the reason behind no tip, and that he didn't have to approach us like that, " if it's a requirement, there's no problem paying a tip". He then replies if you don't tip "don't come back here". I was actually about to tip because this place has amazing deals but I walked off. I spoke with someone at the front desk that didn't seem to care about what Bing said but he did state that there is "no requirement to tip" All in all I will not be returning to this establishment. **SIDE BAR** I have pictures and videos because I planned to do a review on tik tok on how affordable this place is versus other Korean bbq places in the area!

Yelp
The worst Chinese restaurant I have ever had in the US 1. It was fake Korean because all the staff are Chinese and do not know some basic Korean sauces they need to serve. One plate of pork brought to me was unseasoned, and also did not come with any sauce! When I asked for it, their "waiter" directed me to the stand for Chinese hotpot sauce, 火锅调料。 Korean barbecue and Chinese hotpot are totally different, but they think Korean barbecue can use Chinese hotpot sauce because they serve both. Of course, if you don't use that hotpot sauce at all, you just eat plain pork, because they did not give me any Korean bean or chili sauce. 2, Their "waiter" not only failed to give me sauce but totally forgot to bring a fork to me which I asked for, and instead, this young man kept looking at two female customers eating. He was so obsessed with the two ladies beside him that they pointed to the waiter that someone else (me) needed him. (Maybe you will be the next lucky customer to have this young man watching you eat the entire meal but this is less than professional.) 3. While I went to the front desk asking for the fork myself, the lady, the owner's wife (?) was very mean and rude. 4. For two times, they put items that I did not order on the bill until I pointed out the scam. However, instead of apologizing, the boss lady was still rude and impatient. (Dear owner, if you still say this is a "Korean" restaurant, that's because you never ate in a real Korean restaurant and never learned how a decent Korean restaurant in Philly and in any place does its service and treat its customers. ) 5. They deliberately set the temperature of the grill low so it took a long time to cook but after 2 hours they asked the customers to leave. Horrible experience eating in this restaurant 如果你不是中国人,你看不懂这句。如果你是中国人,我会用中文和你奉陪到底。怎么样?

Yelp
I haven't been here and years and was not disappointed, the quality and service is still going steady. My boyfriend and I arrived at around 6 PM on a Friday and we did not have to wait for a table. We opted in for just all you can eat hot pot which was $24.99 pp. Our waiter was super attentive with when to refill our water our our soup base. He also checked in to see if we wanted to order more food. However, when we were ready for our check which was around 7:00 PM and the place was more busy, the service was lacking. It took about 15 minutes for us to get the check and have them process and bring it back. Definitely coming back on off hours again.

Yelp
Ridiculously expensive for a grill that was so weak we couldn't cook any of the meat.

Yelp
*WOULD RECOMMEND FOR HOTPOT* If you're looking for a decent all you can get hotpot and/or kbbq place for a good value in Philly Chinatown, this place for you! They have a large selection of meat, seafood, vegetables, and noodles that you can get for both, though I think the selection for hotpot is larger and better than Kbbq. You use your phone to scan the QR code to get the list of all ingredients you can get and just tell the waiter whatever you want, and of course you can order as you go as well. *DINNER* Hotpot - I've had their kimchi broth, original broth, and tomato broth, and so far, my favorite is the tomato (sweet, savory, and sour). I love their selection of fishballs and seafood (they even have crab!) Their meat is fresh, did not come out frozen unlike other places I've been, lean and not as fat (though personally, I prefer fattier cuts). I don't think you can really go wrong with hotpot. Kbbq - Their selection is a bit more limited than Kbbq, but definitely have the classic bulgogi, galbi, pork belly, as well as unique meats like duck and pork chop. The meats was fresh. Personally I wasn't the biggest fan of bbq because I think the seasoning were all the same. Plus the meat like pork belly were all thinly sliced and i prefer thicker pieces for fattier meats like that. *VERDICT* I would go back again for hotpot for sure

Yelp
I wanted to get Korean bbq that I cook myself so I found this place! When I walked in I was asked if I want bbq or hot pot so I said bbq but turns out that since I said that, that automatically signed me up for all you can eat bbq. Which I did not want and my bill was $65 even though I got two small plates of meat. So that had to be corrected, glad the waiter was understanding and fixed it. I've definitely had better Korean bbq at other places. I don't like that I was automatically signed up for all you can eat . This place was okay, taste and quality wise.

Yelp
The hotpot was really good. Bathroom was clean and nice. K-pop playing really good. The service is nice.

Yelp
The seafood is not the best. But. I think this is the best all you can eat deal in the city. You should come hungry. I never liked lamb until I had it here on Kbbq. I still only like it here. They also have duck. The hot pot is very good, too, but pick one! And then do the other. Also it is byob. I have not, but for a fun Philly experience, bring a bottle, walk to Chinatown or train to Jefferson station (not far) and come here.

Yelp
First time visiting this restaurant. It was enjoyable and the service was good. The staff were very kind and generous. The food was wonderfully fresh and delicious. We reached around 6:30 and ordered the hot pot and finished the meal by an hour. Also I think the self made hot pot sauces has made the hot pot more delicious.
