This restaurant has a spacious interior, making it a comfortable place to dine and have conversations. The portions are quite large, so it's best to order accordingly. The calamari had a slightly thick batter, but it was still tasty, especially with the accompanying sauce. The pasta had a well-balanced flavor. The short rib was delicious, but the portion was too much for one person. The risotto served with it was a bit oily and salty. This place would be great for family gatherings or a group of 4-5 friends.

Google
The arroncini and the seared scallops were amazing. The Calabrian vinaigrette on the scallops was an overpowering spiciness to what was otherwise creamy and delicious risotto but overall was still delicious. Really appreciated that they included mocktails on the drink side of the menu which helps remove the awkwardness of ordering an alcohol free drink. The service wasn't bad but could have been better. The hostess seating us just stopped and stared across the restaurant so we didn't realize we were at the table she wanted us to sit at and while our server checked in on us they didn't really add to the experience in any way.

We had an amazing experience at this Italian restaurant, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Maria. From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcome and taken care of. Her recommendations were spot on — we tried the house-made pasta and Brookie Gelato Sundae, and both were absolutely delicious. Maria was incredibly attentive without being intrusive. She checked on us at the perfect times, kept our drinks filled, and made sure everything was just right throughout the meal. Her warm personality and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience. The food was authentic and full of flavor, and the service was top-notch. We’ll definitely be coming back — and we’ll be asking for Maria again!

From the time I entered the restaurant, the staff were top tier. The host greeted me and was incredibly nice. My waitress made sure I was okay throughout the ordering process because I'm allergic to onions. She checked on me throughout the meal in perfect intervals. The White Truffle Butter Garlic Bread GET IT! Ask no questions. Just get it. If you don't like it, send it to me. The short ribs lasagna was absolutely delicious, too. The Piña no Colada was absolutely fantastic. I ordered two. It was one of the best meals I've had since moving to the area. I found the restaurant by accident. I got on the wrong train and decided to explore instead of getting angry. Best decision ever. Chef's Kiss!

Google
Pretty decent restaurant if you are craving for Italian cuisine We tried the Arancini in appetizer. In entree we highly recommend the Grilled Branzino and the Trottole chicken Pesto Specially the Branzino had so much flavor and the sauce was awesome The pesto pasta was equally good The service was a bit subpar and the waitress hardly came over to ask what we needed. We need a spoon for the entree and by the time she came we almost finished our dinner Definitely will visit this place again

Jeffrey was our waiter and offered incredible service. We had the shrimp scampi pasta per his recommendation and absolutely LOVED it. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

Google
Craving amazing Italian? This place nails it. The food is top-tier (do not skip the Bolognese), and the vibe is warm, inviting, and perfect for groups. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but totally fair for the quality. What really stands out is the staff—super friendly, helpful, and somehow always there when you need a refill. All-around great experience. I’d come back in a heartbeat (probably for more Bolognese).

Google
A fancy italian restaurant. The food was good and tasty we tried Margherita pizza and fungi pizza both were delicious. Their. Chicken Parmesan was also good and the lasagne portion is a bit small but delicious. Oh and the Tiramisu is a must try 😍.

Yelp
Our waitress Stormi was great! She was so patient as she waited for our party to arrive and gave great insight into all of her recommendations! We came for Valentine's Day and it wasn't too crowded at all! The Pri fix menu was super tasty. The shrimp scampi was very fresh and garlicky. And the lobster and shrimp tortellini was prepared so well, Stormi said it was a Valentine's Day special! My friends loved the hazelnut cake and I loved the Carmel ice cream. I definitely want to come back and try the rest of the menu. Vibes were immaculate!

Yelp
It does not say "Cheesecake Factory" anywhere, but it turns out that this restaurant is very much under the corporate control of a huge conglomerate by that name. As is the general shtick of these places, you have a very expensive location, very expensively upgraded interior, and a kitchen where no one has the skill to do much better than a bowl of ramen. If you want to eat the super-processed "food" products offered by a corporate conglomerate restaurant, why spend $150 just for the ambiance? Eat at McDonald's and you'll eat better and much cheaper. This restaurant is nothing but $5 food being sold at $50 prices.

Yelp
Extreme disrespect by server, Elijah I made a 6pm reservation on Saturday, January 11 in Washington, DC. My boyfriend and I live nearby and had been to North Italia a few times, however, my mom was visiting from 4 hours out of town. Our server, Elijah, treated us with complete disrespect and I still have no idea why. My family is a little bit quiet and doesn't really drink, but this is no excuse to treat us with consistent snarky remarks. He asked if we wanted anything to drink and I said "no," twice, and he muttered under his breath (but still while at the table) "jeez, it's like I'm pulling teeth over here." What? I answered "no," and we're not going to be pressured into buying drinks. He started pulling away the wine glasses and then my mom said to me "Are you sure you don't want a drink?" and Elijah, our server said, "too bad, I'm taking the glasses away." I don't know why he was so blatantly rude when I consistently made eye contact with him and then said thank you several times. He refused to bring out small plates for our bread and we had to ask a different server. He never once checked on us during our meal and when he brought the check he said "Happy New Year, hope your year gets better." What did we do? I seriously don't know why he kept grumbling several comments at our table. I have no idea why he felt slighted and what the remarks were even about. Elijah was a seriously immature and downright disrespectful server that has no place working in hospitality.

Yelp
It is nice Italian upscale restaurant. It has a casual vibe for lunch. The service is average. Nothing bad, nothing great. We got sat on a table in the corner and had small waiting lulls. The food was delicious! No complaints there. We tried the Bread, the Italian Farm Salad, and the Bolognese. The prices are hard to justify for the portions. You pay $10 for 2 pieces of bread cut in half.

Yelp
This is a solid and dependable Italian food in a very central area of DC. We came in on a very cold night and enjoyed warm service in the cute location. Not quite a chain but dependable across it's many locations. The highlights were the fresh pasta, the Bacon Old Fashioned cocktails and the desserts which all were tasty. Just a quick review no photos on this one but highly suggest this one if you want something dependable in the area!

Yelp
I came here thinking it should be pretty easy to find something vegan, given its pasta, but was told they didn't have anything vegan. The waiter made something happen, aka pasta and marinara, like from the kids' menu. I hope more vegan options are in their future.

Yelp
Back again and still so good! All of my friends loved their food and it was served so quickly despite the business of restaurant week

Yelp
I'm an Italian LOVER! I love some pasta, bolognese, pizza, lasagna, anything Italian and I'm in Heaven! North Italia had been bookmarked for quite some time. Thanks to my Yelp Elites who shared their reviews (Ethan/Sydney), this foodie had to come see what the hype was all about! Holy Moly it was packed for lunch! I could barely hear my server. All these people, must mean I'm at the right spot! My significant other says it best, who wants to be with anyone who isn't desired! Ohhhhh D.C. wants this place alright! Glad I'm here, better late than never. I got the traditional Cesar Salad! It was great! I also tried the Bolognese, to be fair it was just okay. I'm not sure the sauce had that Italian Mama taste to it but it was good. It was so busy and work was calling me back to the office so no dessert for me. Overall, I'd return to try more of the menu. Yum! They have way too much on the menu not to try!

Yelp
The food was delicious! The rigatoni was cooked to perfection and the bread was great. A lot of "spicy rigatonis" aren't actually spicy but this one did have a little spice which I loved. 4 stars because they were out of the lasagna my friend wanted. But the waiter was nice and gave a great alternative.

Yelp
After driving past this restaurant for months, I finally decided to give it a try. And boy, am I glad I did! Good service, chill atmosphere, tasty food, and nice amount of outside seating, cool bar, with a great spot to relax with a drink. **North Italia has it all! Let's talk about the drinks. I couldn't resist trying the Sicilian Margarita priced at $17.00, it not only looked gorgeous but also had a perfect balance of flavors. Now, onto the food. The Hot Honey and Smoke Prosciutto pizza stole the show. Priced at $23.00, it came with scamorza, speck, calabrian honey, arugula, and pecorino toscano. I couldn't resist adding some pepperoni slices to enhance the experience. The pizza was a symphony of fresh ingredients, cheese, sauce, toppings, and a crust that I absolutely loved! I also tried the Calamari Fritti, priced at $19.50. While it wasn't my personal favorite, it was a bit rubbery, however, the dipping sauces helped spice it up and made it more enjoyable. Definitely plan to return to try some of the small plate and fresh pasta menu items.

Yelp
Did I mention that I've been desiring to visit this place since they first opened but had no real time to do so? Well, what's better than the present! Ambiance: this place is super cute and perfect for a date or dining with family and friends. Service: the hostess and our waiter were great, and the rest of the staff were accommodating. Drinks: I ordered the New Italian Spritz which had the PERFECT and most inviting taste for a nice hot summer day. The drink was simply refreshing but I warn you to drink at a slow pace as the liquor can creep up very slowly lol that's a good ol time! Food: we ordered the hot honey and prosciutto pizza and let me tell you this, as a New Yorker, I judge pizza because hey, New York has the BEST slices around! No debate, I'm stating my facts lol But back to the topic at hand, there are only a few places in DC with amazing pizza and this place delivered just that! They are now one of my favs unless they lose that special touch *ahem* please don't! But the pizza, from crust to topping, this pizza was delicious! Shareable without a doubt and the cheese was perfectly melted adding that drama to each slice pulled. The toppings were DELICIOUS! The prosciutto was fresh and you could actually taste the hot honey. I had a ball eating and being totally filled up. Because we were stuffed, there was no room for any dessert so we simply paid the check and rolled away lol. The overall cost for 2 people was to be expected but the service, drinks, and food were worth every penny paid. Highly recommended for anyone catching a show at the Kennedy Center or anyone looking for a good time in Foggy Bottom.

Yelp
It was very busy, but the service was still very efficient and friendly. Braised Short Rib Lumache-- It has the potential to be amazing, but I felt it was okay. The short rib was tender, but under seasoned. The dish relied on the cheese sauce to carry the flavor, but they don't provide enough of it so after a few bites it ate dry. Once I got extra sauce, it was better to eat. I think if the short rib & pasta had more flavor themselves, it wouldn't need so much sauce.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite dinner spots in DC. I was surprised to realize I hadn't reviewed it yet, so I had to share my thoughts immediately. Our friend introduced us to this gem a year ago when we were in DC craving Italian food. From the moment we walked in, we fell in love with the ambiance. The glass-walled open kitchen is mesmerizing; it's so beautiful that you can't help but watch the chefs as they calmly prepare delicious dishes. Words can't fully capture the incredible food we've enjoyed here over the past year. Whether it's catching up with friends, a date night, a family get-together, or celebrating a significant event, this place is perfect for any occasion. Having visited multiple times, I could dive into each dish individually, but overall, they offer amazing appetizers, pasta, pizza, and desserts. We've tried various dishes each visit. Our all-time favorites are the yucca chips and white truffle garlic bread. Among the pastas, we love the Tortellini al Tomodaro and chicken pesto pasta. The Margherita pizza is also a standout! For desserts, they have a daily special, so be sure to check it out

Yelp
This was a great place for a dinner date. We ate inside and the restaurant was very nice and classy looking. However, we assumed it would be a much fancier place before we booked our reservation, but it ended up being a lot more casual than I thought. So it was still a nice place, but just not what we were expecting. The food was delicious. I had the crushed meatball ragu and my boyfriend had the bolognese. The meatball ragu was very flavorful and the portion was a pretty good size. We both left feeling very full and weren't able to stick around for dessert. I tried his bolognese, which I personally didn't like as much as my meatball ragu, but it was still good and he loved it a lot. I actually am a bit particular about my pastas, but this one was very delicious and I ended up eating the whole thing. I felt that the menu didn't have as many options as I would've liked, so I'm not sure if I would come again if I wanted to try something new. But they did still have a decent amount of options, including pizza which is great for kids or for a more casual dinner. Also, the prices are decent, maybe even on the cheaper side for such a nice Italian place that was so close to the White House or West End. We looked into a lot of restaurants for our dinner date near the White House and, while this one is a small walk away from it compared to a lot of other places you'll find, it's still less expensive and fancy than some other options. But overall, I really liked the place and we had such a delicious, enjoyable dinner date here.

Yelp
I came here for a birthday dinner and it was so great! I loved the food, and the quality was especially high! Our server was so nice too! Our drinks were full all night, the building was bright and had a great view of the street and had a great industrial/rustic interior. I want to go back and try other pastas! The tiramisu was the best dish of the night, and they were so kind to comp that since it was a celebration. It was a truly wonderful meal, I just wish we didn't have to pay for bread.

Yelp
I've enjoyed the food I've ordered from North Italia. Both orders were placed for delivery. One for the chicken Parm and another for the Bolognese with arancini. Everything was delicious, particularly the Bolognese. Rich and we'll seasoned. The chicken Parm was good but the accompanying pasta was a bit disappointing. It's a paccheri noodle with a sort of cream or cheese sauce. Good but nothing special. I'd definitely order again and can only imagine the food is better in person!
google avatar

Yelp
What a meal! This was an exceptional dinner, and I really enjoyed the meal quite a lot. Our waiter Grayson was a delight and made our night so special. All of the food was great, especially the heirloom tomato + burrata! It's on the list of favorite DC bites. The pastas were awesome, and the butter cake ended the night on a sweet note. I will be back here MANY times.

Yelp
I had a nice time tonight at North Italia. The manager was present from the beginning of the night and checked in on us multiple times, which was great. However, our server was really quiet and sometimes we would go 15 minutes without seeing her. It made the meal much longer than it had to be. The food was amazing! We started with the Italian meatballs, which had great flavor. I had the bolognese, which was good, but my friend got the chicken Parmesan which was surprisingly amazing! The Bombolini dessert was similar to beignets but with a delicious creamy filling- a great way to end the meal! I was also worried that the restaurant would be really loud because it was so big, but we could easily talk. I would love to come back again, especially to eat outside in the summer.
google avatar

Nupur C.

Yelp
Everything was delicious, service was a little lacking, but that's probably only because we were one of three parties seated outside, and it seemed busy inside. I will be back to sit inside next time!
google avatar

Erica T.

Yelp
Yes, I recommend this business. The food is delicious. I haven't had food this delicious in a long time. I don't understand why the overall rating is low. This restaurant deserves better. Lol. The service is a bit slow-we were not acknowledged by our server for 10 minutes and had to ask to be attended to.

Yelp
We were searching for something delicious for a later in the evening Monday meal. We thought about delivery, but the food here looked so good and worthy of an in person visit! Knowing they were closing soon at 10, we hurried and got there after 9. We were immediately greeted and seated. There were several other tables dining, too. It was dimly lit inside but nicely. Great for a date night, but also many large tables for a group of friends. With so many options to choose from, I knew bread was on my agenda for sure! We decided to start with wild shrimp scampi (that came with the bread!!) And the Italian meatballs. The shrimp was so good and flavorful-- everything the menu said would be in there was there! From the tomatoes, to the garlic, the tree nuts, the cheese. Super delicious! The Italian meatballs were amazing. Plenty of fresh cheese and the sauce is very flavorful. For mains, The Pig pizza called me, and we also tried the Italian Farm salad. Pizza is just as delicious as it looks! Plethora of meats with some spice to it! Was delicious day of AND as leftovers. Salad was fresh and plentiful - even for a hungry man to have leftovers. There is plenty enough to share! San Pan was our drink of choice with lemon. Can't gone wrong there! Now, I have to come back for the pasta!

Yelp
I am lucky to live close to North Italia. With their well priced and tasty food, you can't find a better Italian spot in the Foggy area. I definitely prefer the Red Hen but North Italia is a better spot for casual and last minute lunches/dinners. I've gone to North Italia at least 6-8 times and I'm never disappointed. Their pasta is fresh and service is always good. You should definitely order their white truffle garlic bread and cacio e pepe arancini! The spicy rigatoni vodka is also incredible, but so are all their other options. Their $40 bottle and board happy hour is worth a try too!
google avatar

Cici G.

Yelp
The yelp reviewers raved about this place so I had to check it out for myself. I was seated immediately which I appreciated given that I did not have a reservation and they were fairly busy. bolognese pasta: 3/5, it was decent, great ratio of meat sauce to noodles but the flavor was not a hit for me, it tasted a little salty. White truffle garlic bread: 4/5, I was honestly most excited to this! Loved it, I just wish it had a little more truffle flavor and warmer when it came out. But overall I really liked it. I initially wanted to pizza so I will return again to try the pizza.

Yelp
A pretty good Italian place. Prices are a bit high and I've had better Italian at other places. Service was ok, could've been a bit more attentive for the prices they charge but they were also pretty busy the night we came out. Food was good but not particularly outstanding. Overall a good but pricey place that is a bit middle of the road when it comes to food and service for the prices they charge. Wouldn't be a terrible experience if you went but you could probably find somewhere a bit better in the downtown DC area if you wanted to.

Yelp
I had never heard of North Italia, but one of my friends eats there all the time and is obsessed with it. We decided to go there to celebrate my birthday together and were very excited to start with the heirloom tomato and burrata salad (crispy ciabatta, arugula, shaved red onion, calabrian vinaigrette), which was absolutely delicious. The tomatoes were super flavorful and a perfect complement to the creamy saltiness of the burrata. We also got the grilled bread and good olive oil (grana padano & herbs) which also had some balsamic drizzle to dip in which was also delicious. the bread was super thick and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the crust. Pro tip: save some bread to dipped in the leftover dressing from the tomato salad... it was perfection! For my entrée I opted for the chicken Parmesan (crushed tomato, aged provolone, mozzarella, parmesan rigatoni). The portion size was huge and everything tasted delicious. I really loved the side of Parmesan rigatoni as it tasted like a super decadent but lighter version of Alfredo. My friend got the spicy rigatoni vodka (italian sausage, crispy pancetta, shaved garlic, torn basil, grana padano) which was delicious and might be what I would want to order next time I go back! When the waitress found out it was my birthday, she happily brought over a surprise piece of their seasonal butter cake, which was the lemon, blueberry. We were running late for a show, so she packed it up really nice for us to take to go. Everything from the service to the ambience to the food was great and I'm sure I'll be back!

Yelp
OVERALL: amazing portions and delicious food. Note this review is based on my delivery experience. FOOD: we got a margherita pizza and the spicy rigatoni vodka pasta. Both came in well sealed containers and the pasta was large in portion. Both were delicious. SERVICE: (based on door dash delivery) the restaurant accepted my request within minutes and my order was delivered within half an hour or so. Super quick and efficient. VENUE: not applicable as I didn't see the restaurant

Yelp
Came for happy hour with friends and had a nice time! We grabbed seats at a shared table near the bar around 6pm. It wasn't too crowded but the bar area is small so arrive early for happy hour. They have a great deal - a bottle of wine and a pizza for $40. The pizza was pretty good. Wine wasn't bad. We also had bruscetta and arancini, both good bites. Finished off with espresso martinis and a couple of their desserts. The martinis were very unique, I think they use oat milk. Not my favorite take on an espresso martini but not bad. The butter cake was just okay to me. Our server was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was casual and not too loud. If you're in the area it's a great place for happy hour.

Yelp
It's hard to say that my experience at this restaurant was anything but memorable because I was proposed to here! On top of replaying the thought of the moment, I think about the eggplant parmesan that I had right before it happened lol. I was able to get the eggplant as my main entree and added a side of rigatoni noodles and you would've thought it was a menu entree. The service was good for the amount of people in the restaurant. The restaurant is nice and neat, the atmosphere can be casual but also perfect for a proposal. I'll never forget this place & can't wait to come back.

Yelp
We had North Italia for dinner while we were visiting Washington DC and it was phenomenal! We made reservations, which I would highly recommend you do if you plan on visiting because it can get very busy, but they were able to seat us right away at our scheduled time. The service was excellent. To start we had the white truffle garlic bread. It was some of the best bread I have had! It was light, fresh and had a lot of flavor. For my entree I had the spicy rigatoni. It was a little bit spicy but nothing over the top to make your nose run. I really enjoyed it. The meat in the dish tasted fresh and had such good flavor. My boyfriend had a Caesar salad with the bolognese pasta. I tried it as well and also really liked it. It was rich in flavor and thick. Unfortunately we didn't have any room for dessert. The service was timely. We had Michael T. as our server and he was very friendly! The ambiance was so cozy with dim lighting with a beautiful modern flare. We would definitely visit again if we were back in the DC area!

always consistent with great service and great food. A staple for me and my friends when we can't decide or just want a cute good meal.

Yelp
Recently came here with a large group (15 people) to celebrate a special occasion and we were all really impressed by the food and service. Initially, the host led us to a table that did not have enough seats, but they immediately added an additional table/chairs. Our waitress, Rachel, was really great and patient with everyone. In terms of apps, highly recommend the arancini, the chef's boards, and the grilled bread with olive oil. The restaurant was very accommodating of any modifications to the dishes, which was really great to accommodate everyone's preferences and dietary restrictions. Some of our favorite dishes were the pesto chicken pasta, hot honey pizza, and branzino. We ordered almost one of every dessert, and the highlights were the adffogato and lemon olive oil cake.

Yelp
Like most people when I think of an Italian Restaurant I think of a Nonna in the kitchen and a warm welcoming place. Under the recommendation of our hotel staff my family and I tried North Italia, it was mediocre at best. Our waitress Maria F seemed as if she would rather be somewhere else. Never introduced herself, never asked if we had any questions about the menu, after our food came out, Maria never came see if our food was to our liking. She also seemed annoyed that we didn't order any alcohol. All food is Ala cart. So don't expect bread to start, you'll have to pay for that. The ricotta cavatelli was bland and extremely oily. So if you are in the area look for another Italian restaurant.

Yelp
Extensive menu for food and beverages with appropriate serving sized pasta dishes. The bolognese sauce was sweet, small bits of beef and pork intertwined with the tagliatelle. The spaghettis and meatballs on the other hand, ....ground pork and beef in a traditional red sauce was a good choice. Decently priced, service was not intrusive and the noise levels allowed for table conversation sharing. This a an average neighborhood spot, plenty of seating and nice bar area.

Yelp
Pizza was super good. Spicy vodka pasta was great. The ambiance is semi-casual-- good to come with friends, co-workers, family, and significant other. Service was nice and friendly.

Yelp

Yelp
Brunch was delicious! Anna did not steer us wrong with the banana coffee cake! My breakfast mule was light and tasty. But my favorite bite was chicken pesto pasta. We will be back again soon! Oh, and Anna, the Clue play was hilarious and so much fun! You should go!

Yelp
I cannot believe I haven't visited this absolute gem of a place: incredibly delicious food, beautiful decor with picture windows, and excellent proximity to downtown theaters and the Kennedy Center for a pre-theater dinner. We had tickets to the Kennedy Center for a 7:30pm show; we made a 5:30pm reservation and enjoyed a leisurely dinner with amazing cocktails, and still had plenty of time to make it to the KC and park. My only gripe was the service was a bit slow, and underwhelming. Our waitress seems very nice but never checked on us, was slow to get us anything, and really didn't provide the level of service commensurate with this place's price point. Also: did the law change in DC regarding posting calorie counts of menu items? Every menu item description was followed by their total calorie count! Not really what I want to see on menu on my night out!

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance & pleasant wait staff. Ordered the bolognese for our toddler since we were mainly there to get her pasta (her favorite) and we each got a glass of wine. Although the al dente pasta was great for us adults, it proved a bit too tough to chew for our 2yr old. Still, the portion size & flavors were pretty good

Yelp
The food was expensive but great. On our latest visit we shared the Caesar salad which was nice and fresh and the rice balls which were very crispy and hot and had a creamy center. For my main I got the spicy vodka and my friend got the shrimp scampi, both were great and had nice serving sizes. We came an hour before closing but were seated immediately and got our food quickly, our server was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is very clean and has a calm vibe with mood lighting. And was an overall comfortable place to enjoy a meal. This review is about our most recent visit to the one in DC but we also frequent the one in Denver which is in our home state. It's always a reliable option if we want good Italian, though do go in expecting to spend quite a bit.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best happy hour spots around! The sangrias are a must. i've loved all the pizzas I've gotten here, but the cacio e pepe is definitely my favorite! It's really easy to make a reservation here but I also feel like there's general availability for the most part. The location is right in downtown DC which is great for a quick food spot after work! I've always experienced really thoughtful service here and it's a beautiful, open area to enjoy a meal or some small bites with friends.

Yelp
The food here is a hit or miss , I have used them for meeting but you have to actually go and pick up the catering and that's not convenient to me at all. They do have healthy options available

Yelp
Okay coming here I was uncertain at first because it is such a popularized chain but boy was I wrong. From ambiance to service to food, this place didn't hit, it slapped me in all notes. The ambience is upscale family Italian when you walk in. It's elegant, the lighting is perfect, and both the interior and exterior is absolutely beautiful. Getting into the service, my friend and I noted how well of a team everyone was who worked together. The bartender was helping out other tables and the staff were effortlessly working (and it was a busy night). Our server Tony was amazing. He really focused on providing us a guest experience. I appreciate how, when I ordered the spicy rigatoni he asked me my spice tolerance. I said I can handle a little spice and he said if it was too much to let him know. Super kind Now onto food. White truffle bread- so seeing this for like 17 dollars I was nervous... but it was so worth it. The truffle oil is prominent but it was the right amount where it didn't overpower any other elements of the dish. The cheese with it was also the perfect addition and the cold cheese contrasted well with the warm bread. For entrees, I got the spicy vodka rigatoni pasta. One thing to note is that all their pasta is made in house and it shows. The pasta itself tasted really good. The sauce tho wasn't my favorite, it was a little boring and wasn't mixed well (all my pancetta and spice was on one side). However my friend really liked her squid ink pasta. She said her sauce was a littler watery but she got adequate shrimp with it that was cooked well. For dessert, we got the butter cake. I never to be impressed by the concept of a cake of butter but it might be my favorite dessert thus far in DC. The ice cream on top was so tasty and the cake itself was rich and decadent. The butter my sponge cake absorbed so much flavor into it that I'm drooling thinking of it. Get it. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
North Italia is a cavernous restaurant designed in modern form with high ceilings and plenty of glass. The bolognese dish is rich and flavorful. You can order some cocktails or wine and pasta or other entrees. Service was attentive. The restaurant was fine but I could not point to what would make me hurry back.

Yelp
North Italia is a gem with its vibrant atmosphere and consistently bustling energy. The vibes here are absolutely fantastic, making it a great spot for any occasion. Their Chicken Parmesan Pasta is a standout dish--perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Pair it with their amazing selection of wines for an unforgettable meal. Despite always being busy, the service remains top-notch, ensuring a great dining experience every time. North Italia is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food, excellent wine, and a lively ambiance.

Yelp
We made a reservation and were sat at a great space in the restaurant. This was a win! But, the temperature in the restaurant had to be at least 85 degrees. We were all sweating and dying of thirst just sitting there, but then the poor staff looked like they were going to pass out with sweat dripping down their faces as they were running around from table to table. The food was fine, but a bit overpriced for what you were getting at the end of the day. We had to ask for things from the waiter at least three times before we got them. This included water as most of our cups sat empty during the entire night. They did do a kind gesture with a delicious cake for my friend's birthday, which was appreciated.
