"Opening in Foggy Bottom on Wednesday, February 27, at 2112 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, this 6,000-square-foot sit-down North Italia from Fox Restaurant Concepts (a national chain with 16 locations across six states) features a large open kitchen and sleek booths and offers a menu focused on pastas made on-site, pizzas, and lots of wine. Pastas will include burrata tortelloni and a squid ink mafaldine with seafood, mint, fennel pollen, and Calabrian chili; the kitchen will also turn out sandwiches and a prosciutto-topped pizza, starters such as arancini, zucchini chips, and a three-cheese white truffle garlic bread, and about a dozen cocktails (two available in pitcher form). The D.C. location will open with lunch, dinner, happy hour, and brunch service, and the concept carries backing from Fox Restaurant Concepts along with a seal of approval from Drake; restaurateur Sam Fox oversees nearly 50 restaurants across 13 brands." - Tierney Plumb
