Best Restaurants for Omakase Around Atlanta

"The one-Michelin-starred omakase experience by chef Jason Liang at Brush Sushi involves a 20-course menu with a wine and sake pairing option (plus, corkage is available at $45 for a single bottle of wine). The restaurant is known for its dry-aged fish program, so expect fish like dry-aged hirame on the flight. There are two seatings at 6 and 8 p.m., Wednesday to Sunday. Reservation required. $285 a person." - Eater Staff

15 Best Hangs for Happy Hour in Atlanta

"Michelin-starred O by Brush has a “sake and sando” happy hour every Monday through Friday, 5 to 7 p.m. Pick from junmai and junmai daiginjo sakes priced at or under $10, and pair with a sandwich served in a milk bun with a side of veggie chips and a salad. The miso duck with fried leeks is a standout. Brush Sushi also offers a monthly Buckhead Champagne Club for $100, which includes three rare and unique selections of champagne and nigiri." - Eater Staff

The Michelin Guide Results Are In: 4 New Restaurants Awarded Stars

"Led by chef Jason Liang, Brush Sushi was awarded a star this year primarily for its dry-aged fish program. O by Brush is the omakase experience in a private room that seats about ten people. The Michelin Guide says, “a tasting of dry-aged hirame and kanpachi is a delightful surprise, as is the tamago tasting, featuring the classic style alongside a tender, cake-like version. The wide-ranging sake selection, also available by the glass or carafe, is the perfect complement.” In Eater Atlanta’s best dishes we ate in October roundup, the steamed egg dish topped with roe was a unique standout. Plated in a bowl that resembles a cracked egg held by a porcelain hand, the presentation was just as elegant as the dish itself. The umami eggs with the salinity from the roe paired perfectly with sake." - Henna Bakshi, Eater Staff

We had an amazing time. We tried de Omakase experience last week. 3 hours and 20+ Courses. The owner was our chef, he is a really nice person, answer many of our questions, he explained all dishes. They have gluten free options and were able to accommodate us for most of the Courses. I highly recommend it.

An excellent dining experience with great food, drinks, and staff. Having been to numerous Omakase experiences in the past, I was very excited to land a reservation at O by Brush and try one of Atlanta’s newest. They did not disappoint. My partner and I arrived and were immediately impressed by the atmosphere of the new space (the omakase portion of the restaurant is in a separated area, away from the main dining room) - It felt as if we were transported away from Buckhead as we stepped inside. The wait staff were extremely friendly and attentive. They explained how the night would progress when we arrived, and happily answered any questions we had. I opted for the drink (wine+sake) pairing, and my partner opted for à la carte beverages. The pairing was excellent, and I recommend it. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and I learned quite a bit from them. We were impressed by every bite throughout the night. The chef happily answered questions and explained his processes while prepping each dish. I enjoyed the emphasis they put on the textures of each bite, not just the flavors. The dry-aged fish was a delicious twist that I have not experienced at other Omakase tastings. Between the tasting for two, drink pairing + à la carte, a few supplemental courses, and gratuity, we paid around $850-$900. We thought it was worth it, and left full. Obviously cost and worth are subjective - and it can be done for cheaper than that. I would rate this as one of the best in Atlanta, and highly recommend it to anybody considering going.

This restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience that exceeded all my expectations. I appreciated the privacy of the setting, complemented by a calm, sophisticated atmosphere with a minimalist Japanese vibe. While I’m not a food critic, I was impressed by the quality of the food. Every course was meticulously crafted, delivering a delightful burst of flavors with each bite. As my first omakase experience, I initially thought the portions might leave me wanting more. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Despite being a 6-foot male, the 20-plus courses left me comfortably full—satiated but never uncomfortably so. it was an immersive culinary journey to me. After the meal, I was given a keepsake menu along with some baked goods and coffee for the next day—a truly considerate gesture. If you’re hesitant about making a reservation, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. With their recent Michelin star recognition, this is a dining experience not to be missed. If reservations are available, don’t hesitate to book.

A truly incredible omakase experience. The absolute best way to celebrate my husband's birthday with a one-of-a-kind dinner and drinks pairing. The team at O by Brush, including Chef Khoi and Jenna, took amazing care of us. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I unfortunately can't compare this to other Michelin starred restaurants because this is the first one I've been too. Brush is already amazing, in fact when I'm in town on business, I stay at the nearby Thompson just to be in walking distance to Brush, and come almost every night. So, I'm back in town, check their website for current menu and hours, see the blurb about Michelin star and the omakase tasting experience. This was not a thing a year ago when I was here last, I already love Brush, so I booked immediately. It was amazing. I know it's costly, but if you have some splurge on a fancy dinner budget set aside, use it on this; you won't regret it. The chef/owner is leading the food prep and serving, he has assistance on food, drinks, explanation of each course, etc. from numerous other people you'll meet as the night begins, and who are ever present and attentive. The variety of food served was huge, even if you're already a sushi connoisseur and used to doing boxes, or similar omakase plates. I never knew what to expect, some items were hot, cold, dry aged, wet, to be eaten in a certain order, to be eaten in ten seconds or less, to be combined with certain parts of what is provided to ensure the taste is what was intended, etc. I found the entire experience very engaging and fun; you never knew what was coming next or how you might need to eat it. They go out of their way on drinks too. I ordered some favorites that were not on the menu and they made them anyway, including one many places don't have the proper ingredients for (Singapore Sling). Really enjoyed this experience; will definitely do it again next time business brings me to ATL.

Yelp
Exceeded my expectations! I wasn't a huge fan of previous Brush location and I was little skeptical when making reservation here but I heard amazing things about the new location from my friends and made it out for our anniversary. Besides, they just got a michelin star so I was betting on that as well. The start was little delayed as the staff were getting ready, possibly since we went to the later slot of th night but once the courses started, everything was marvelous! Food had amazing presentation, back story, and flavor! Every course was unique, flavorful, and fascinating! Its what I have been waiting for, for an omakase! All was delicious but the most memorable were the fish filled bread, fatty eel, every dish with the prawn, uni, and dessert! Dessert has been one of the lacking components at my other fav spots such as Hawakaya and Mujo but here, its so refreshing and delicious! Also different in textures and types! I wish these would be available in their other pastry shops! Only one dish that was underwhelming was the fried squid. It was overcooked and I enjoyed the radish with the dashi sauce more. Overall, you'll be amazed and pleased at the end of the meal! Also super full! Some couples tapped out little earlier as they couldn't fit dessert which is crazy ^^ Can't wait to go back to try new seasonal menu!

Yelp
Not your average sushi spot. They recently earned a Michelin 1 star and I'm sure they will add more as they keep perfecting their craft. The sushi is delicious and the vibe is nice. Will definitely go back if in the area
