12 Flavor-Packed Destinations for Ceviche in Miami

"This waterfront restaurant inside the Gates Hotel in Miami Beach serves a seasonal menu filled with Latin American, Spanish, and Caribbean flavors, including a lobster ceviche made with yellow tomato-citrus sauce and accompanied by an intriguing heirloom tomato-tabasco sorbet. The mixto ceviche here blends Corvina, shrimp, and octopus that’s tossed in ginger coconut juice with a refreshing touch of limo pepper and cilantro, which is served with fried yuca a la huancaina (Peruvian cheese sauce) for textural contrast." - Juliana Accioly

The 11 Best Miami Spice Lunch Menus, 2021 - Eater Miami

"Chef Carlos Castro’s modern Latin American restaurant Ola offers an extensive Miami Spice lunch menu this year. Diners can begin the meal with dishes like corvina ceviche, short rib empanadas, and heirloom tomato salad. Choose between items like roasted Cuban pork, mahi-mahi, or skirt steak for the main dish, and finish the meal with a deconstructed key lime pie. Available daily." - Alona Martinez

10 Phenomenal Lobster Dishes in South Florida

"Lobster and empanadas are two of Miami’s favorites items and this restaurant inside the Gates South Beach hotel combines the two perfectly. Encased inside a squid ink dough, the empanada is filled with tender lobster meat and comes with a side of avocado sauce and salsa rosa for an extra kick. The lobster ceviche is also a hit, made with lobster bathed in yellow tomato, citrus, limo pepper, cilantro, red onions, and tomato-tabasco." - Juliana Accioly

Food was good. I ordered the tuna which was supposed to be served over goat cheese but I couldn't taste the cheese at all. Tuna itself was well cooked and flavorful. Service was good. The starters were probably the highlight of the meal, empanadas were excellent. Don't ask them to make an Old Fashioned.

Google
With it being the off season when we went they didn’t have lobster empanadas, but the rest of the food was so good we didn’t mind. The Ola meatballs and the Mixto ceviche were especially delicious. The cocktails were amazing as well.

It was me and my wife's 10 year anniversary. OLA was the perfect choice. Situated in the heart of South beach, we were a bit concerned when sitting outside that it would be a bit loud with the traffic. The way ola is positioned with the hotel, it just seemed like a beautiful outdoor restaurant. The food was exceptional, and the service was outstanding. Please do not hesitate to pick this restaurant for any special occasion, as they will treat you like royalty.

Google
The Miami Spice Menu is so worth it! The mini lobster empanada and chicken croqueta is simply delicious!! We enjoyed the Skirt Steak and Ola Spicy Wings! As for the desserts, it was so hard to choose. We loved the Yuca Cake and Sugar Cane Pudding. Absolutely worth the trip to Miami Beach and service was quick!

Google
An extraordinary experience. Service was completely first class. The food was one of the best meals we have had. We are foodies and rarely gush about our experiences. This was different. Maybe a top 100 restaurants in the world kind of experience. Will fly back just to visit here again.

Google
Cuban food taken upscale. Terrific food. Meh service. Beautiful venue and we enjoyed seating by the water. The lobster empanada was a culinary experience. The special (Bronzino with calamari, clams and mussels) was a delight. The short rib empanada was also excellent. The stuffed pepper was nice but not amazing.

Google
Ola provides a tranquil setting for a lunch or dinner in Miami Beach. Despite the restaurant being largely vacant on a Friday lunch, the quality of the food met the expectations. I enthusiastically suggest trying the Mexican Ceviche, Mahi Mahi, and the Pollo Criolla. Additionally, the poke bowl dish & nachos received high praise from my companions. The Colombian cheese bread was particularly delicious; I could have easily devoured multiple rolls. The service was excellent, and the ambiance lacked any pretentiousness. Parking could be an issue just like any place in Miami Beach. Nonetheless, for a relaxed lunch in Miami, Ola is a good choice.

Google
Short rib empanada was delicious. Hamachi ceviche was decent. Lamb was interesting. Key lime pie meringue was good but ice cream could’ve been creamier - sorbet a bit tart. Tapioca bread was great. Service is impeccable

Yelp
2 Years Later... Back for another event ..up the street... Dropped my bags and came right to OLA! Fantastic Ceviche!!! Fantastic Service!!! Fantastic Cheese Bread from Kava Flour which is Gluten Free for all you GF's that miss bread!! OMG ... Wine is great! Deconstructed Key Lime Pie!!!

Yelp
Visited OLA for a company dinner and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The service was extremely slow. It took 40 minutes to receive our food after ordering. After we finished our meal and the table was cleared, it took us another 40 minutes to leave because no one would come with the check. Not even a single waiter came by to check on us. Our server was not too friendly either. She would just look at our table and walk away when we tried to grab her attention. I ordered the roasted chicken with sweet potato gnocchi. It was decent. The chicken was juicy and the radish salad was refreshing but the gnocchi was overcooked and too sweet. I would not come back here and would advise my friends to not be swayed by the positive reviews since they're so misleading.

Yelp
I chose Ola for our Christmas lunch. We don't live here so I honestly picked this restaurant based on the appearance shown online and the ALL DAY menu! Too bad on Christmas Day, instead they had a shorter a much more casual menu. The restaurant does not look anything like the pictures. It's probably more charming at night but still. Starting from the beginning. Made a reservation online then called to confirm and had to call 8 times before someone answered...and did not speak English. The valet people are as rude as it can be and charge you $30 cash! Good luck if you don't carry cash. The restaurant seemed empty and not ready at 1pm. Louis, the manager was AMAZING, and he tries to cover the restaurant flaws with his sparkly personality. They have a special bread Pan De Bono on the menu but we could not order any because the oven was broken. We ordered ceviche, octopus salad, meatballs, shrimp, and flatbread. Everything was very well made with great ingredients. Ordered a bottle of Prosecco. Desert was also delizioso! So let's see. 4 people: 3 octopus 2 ceviche 1 meatballs 1 shrimp appetizer 2 flatbread 1 Greek salad 3 desserts 1 bottle of Prosecco $450 Slightly too much isn't it? The 4 starts are all for the quality of the ingredients and Louis. The rest needs some true attention.

Yelp
The more money I spend on a place the more in depth the review. I'm beyond disappointed. Mind you I just left the gym when I came so I was starving, had I not been I would have not eaten as much as I did. I walk in and the place is empty, the server greeted me and was pleasant. Seemed very nervous and unknowledgeable about the menu so I presume she may be new. The food and drink runner however was terribly rude. No smile, harsh spoken and Litterally had a look of judgment throughout every interaction. I made the mistake of taken a vape off my pen and he very rudely told me not to vape. There is a proper way to approach a guest about an issue and then there is the I'll-mannered inhospitable way but I wouldn't expect more from this gentleman. You'd think a man who walks around with a cloud of smoke around him would have a kinder approach to the situation. The extra plate setting was never removed. The dirty plates never taken from the table. No check back on the experience so I sat with a flaccid paper straw in my cup for 15 minutes. The interior looks like a worn down 80s Floridian dinner. The bar is a focal point but there is no bartender and no service at the bar during the day? My drink came from the pool area and was serve in a crappy cup and had separated before it got to my table.... $16 dollars for a drink with the same quality you'd get at a dive bar......After 10 minutes. When it came time for the check I waited for another 10-15 minutes. There is four tables in the whole restaurant and one Togo order. Service should be faster. This girl is super sweet just she needs some fine tuning on service. Honestly I very much enjoyed her. She might be the only good thing about the experience. She'd probably improve with some manager mentoring but the manager was nonexistent until she was doing a walk through in the bar. Not a single pass by through to see any of the lunch service. The food though has me absolutely annoyed I even came here. The problem when you have a reputation is when you don't deliver the product or service that built it you won't get second chances to deliver. The drink- spicy mango margarita 1/10 I would give it a zero if I could The drink menu I got was a legit south beach tourist trash cocktail list. So was taken a back. The taco spot at the generator puts more effort into the cocktail list at half the cost. Contemplated returning it but that goes against my ways. The food- Corvina ceviche 6/10 Flavor in balanced. Way too much lime. Yes ceviche has lime but when you use old lime juice or bottle juice you better balance appropriately with your other flavor components such as salt and the fish juices. Caesar salad with steak (ordered medium rare)1/10 This erked me to my core. Presentation was basic. The steak was over cooked skirt steak scraps that had no flavor or seasoning. The lettuce in the salad had far too much yellow old rust spots for my liking. The dressing is either a dupe or actually is Ken's Caesar salad dressing. Basic dressing trash you'd buy From a costco or Sysco. Again contemplated returning but I don't believe in food waste. Pan de bono- 6/10 I get better at the gas stations by my house. One was a little undercooked the other was alright. They were missing that final run over with salted butter that really sets it perfect. Over all everything was not worth the money. Lacked salt and this place might have been good a at one point but this place is nothing but another tourist spot with low quality food and way too high of prices. I am in disbelief I wasted $91.59 Might be the worst money I've spent in south beach.

Yelp
We searched Yelp for a reasonable place for a bite to eat that was close to the beach. We weren't expecting OLA to be the Hilton hotel's restaurant. The menu was 10x smaller than what we anticipated, but we made it work. This is one of the first times that Yelp steered us in the wrong direction of what we were aiming for. Our server was wonderful, very kind, helpful, and attentive. He recommended their bread, which really was wonderful! We only sat down for an appetizer and bread before we took off to explore the area a bit more, so there isn't much more we can say regarding the food. Much like a previous review stated, there's some water outside that had some trash built up in it, but with it being dark it wasn't too bad and we sat inside. The atmosphere inside is pleasant and most guests were dressed casually, which we assume was due to it being in connection to the hotel.

Yelp
Delicious food, great location, friendly & attentive staff! I was staying at the Gates Hotel South Beach and had an impromptu dinner at Ola. It was a really nice experience overall. We were seated outside immediately, right next to the inter coastal waterway. The views were beautiful and serene. The server was super helpful and good natured even though he seemed like he was the only one working there! The food was also high quality and flavorful. I got the skirt steak and Brussels sprouts-- highly recommended! Would definitely come back.

Yelp
We were guests at the attached Gates South Beach hotel and stopped in for breakfast. They seated us, and then we sat for an inordinate amount of time without any further acknowledgment. Got up and went across the street to Habitat, where customer service was excellent. Take your chances here.

Yelp
This used to be my wife's favorite restaurant. The ceviche was so delicious and the presentations were just as good. The chef apparently changed 3 years ago, and that's when the food quality became sub par. So sad when the quality of a restaurant you love goes down so much. If anyone knows where the old chef went, please let us know so we can eat there.

Amelia R.

Yelp
The ceviche with shrimp, fish and octopus was the best I had ever had. Deconstructed key lime pie was delicious. Service was great. Luis Balboa thank you

Yelp
Ola is a nice spot for a quiet Miami Beach dinner. We had reservations on a Friday night, the restaurant was fairly empty. However, after trying the food, I'm not sure why! I'd highly recommend the Hamachi Ceviche, the short rib empanadas, and the Pollo Criolla. My friends also really enjoyed the Cuban pork dish. The Colombian cheese bread is sooo yummy-- I could have eaten about ten of those rolls! The service was delightful, and there's nothing pretentious about this place. If you're in the mood for a more laid back Miami night, Ola is the spot!
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is really pretty and the menu is great but i wouldn't recommend coming for Miami spice. I've been two times and the portions are very small so you're really not getting a great deal. There are plenty of other places that offer better options so I would try coming here for a regular meal sometimes

Yelp
There Miami Spice Lunch was so worth it! I absolutely love the menu options. I ordered the chicken croquettes and skirt steak with mango panna cotta. Everything was delicious even the margaritas. The service was great as well and it had great ambiance for a quick lunch date with the girls! Everything was definitely amazing.

Yelp
What an amazing restaurant!!! The service the food the atmosphere was spot on for South Beach. We had the roasted pork and the lamb chops, we also did the Hamachi ceviche. What an experience. Hector did a great job helping us.
google avatar

Yelp
Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful in explaining the Miami spice menu and working with dietary restrictions. Lobster empanada - delicious, wish there was more Beer battered mahi mahi - ehhh sauce was great but the fish itself lacked flavor or seasoning Short rib empanada - my friend enjoyed it Panela Salmon with mango and quinoa - good Portobello churrasco - really flavorful, just wish there was more! Ola yucca cake - it was very dense, we were not big fans Mango panna cotta - delicious and good texture 4/5 stars - some dishes were great, some good, some okay. Outside terrace is very cute and overlooks one of the waterways.

Yelp
We went to the Friday night. We couldn't find the menu which we saw the Yelp page, so I asked the waiter. He brought another menu. Looks like they have different menus and first one was really expensive. Maybe for tourist menu? Also they charged $8 for water! They didn't open the bottle a front if us, so don't know it was bottle of water or tap water....

Yelp
This restaurant is nice but morbidly overpriced. We visited on a Sunday in early January. Appetizers (Rock Shrimp & Calamari and Hamachi Ceviche) were absolutely delicious but at $22-28, and for the portion size, no. For entrees (Roasted Pork and Market Fish - Whole Snapper) my partner and I both thought the meat / fish was dry and for me, the Yucca on the pork dish had a dough-y / play-dough consistency that I didn't enjoy. This was definitely not worth the price tag at all ($40-$70). Dessert (Churros) were too dough-y and served with a passion fruit cream that to me, didn't compliment the dish well as it was sour. The attentiveness of the servers was 5 star and that's definitely priced in. The ambiance outside is nice as the restaurant sits on a waterway, BUT it did smell a bit like rotten eggs when we went. If I went again, it would be ONLY appetizers and on someone else's dime!

Yelp
OLA is in front of Gates Hotel and prices are comparable to other restaurants in area for breakfast. We both had the breakfast quesadilla, stuffed with eggs, bacon, three cheeses and breakfast potatoes. It was huge and delicious! Served with pico, guacamole, and lime sour cream. Definitely will keep me filled until dinner! Pleasant surprise!
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
We tried OLA because we were staying at the Gates were OLA is located and being the first day it was easy. At first the prices seemed high but we were there so what the heck! We were very happily surprised, they give you your moneys worth ( we quickly learned everything is costly in Miami ) they have all the normal breakfast item and a few different ones. We both got the quesadillas which were abundantly stuffed with scrambled eggs, bacon, Ham, cheeses, potato's and more. Very delicious and filling ! Service was friendly . We ended up eating there again!

Yelp
This might be unfair but I really didn't enjoy my visit here from the start. There had been a cold front that came through and it was cold in Miami (and the whole country). We were staying in the Gates Hotel (where Ola is) and it was quite convenient. But when we got there, it was cold. Friggin cold. I get it, that many of the buildings and establishments aren't geared towards the cold. But it was just plain cold. No apologies or what they might be doing about getting it warmer. This made it such that we were rushing along, opposed to enjoying our meal and, for that matter, ordering more food. And then, of course you have to order the ceviche.. served on ice... Food was pretty good. Just, this to me is about the total experience... which just wasn't an enjoyable memory.

Yelp
First, I have to say that she quit hola Papi because it was really cute. Where is there. You know the staff was completely on the target making everybody feel welcome and the drinks were coming out. They had food on the table and they made this. The atmosphere was completely upbeat and fun. They have some special cocktails that are worth definitely trying for the beach. It was not on the high end of the scale for value. It was actually pretty fair so I recommend going there and taking it out. You'll absolutely enjoy yourself and the food is great and matter what you order your not gonna be disappointed it was six of us to the dinner table and everybody was sharing off everybody's was eating off of everybody's plate. Enjoy the drinks. Enjoy the staff via actually loved the food until next time. Bon appétit.

Yelp
Delicious meal and great service. We were seated outside on a beautiful evening. The food and drinks were delicious ! Overall a great evening

Yelp
Came to try out this establishment for miami spice. The atmosphere was nice and the food did not disappointed. Customer service was on point the ambiance was nice had a clean retro feel to me. The bathroom were really reto but cute. The food we ordered was small portions I think because of miami spice menu but was very tasty. Would come back to try full course meals. The fried fish was delicious and the crab cakes were very good. The dessert was awesome too loved mango panna cotta. The restaurant does have a hotel so it is pretty busy in the front but otherwise everything else was good.

Yelp
Latin food at its finest! Ola was a treat for sure. Right on Collins, great views, beautiful decor, food on point - what more could you ask for? Initially, we were seated outside, but the mosquitoes decided that our legs would be dinner, so we asked to be moved inside - no problem. Food: We started with the Squid Ink Lobster Empanada. Sounded different and unique, so we gave it a try. It was filled with plump lobster, but the empanada shell was a little hard to cut - let's leave that in the oven for less time please. For the entree, we tried the branzino with a seafood medley. Can we have a moment of silence for the sauce? Listen, the sauce alone was majestic. It was buttery goodness. The branzino skin had a nice, char to it. It was great! NOTE - if you get this dish, it is shareable. Don't get two orders. It's more than enough for two people. Drinks: Margarita! Make sure you slow-walk that one, especially if you have the bartender that made our drinks. Needless to say, with great food and a stiff drink, a wonderful evening will ensue! Have fun!

Yelp
Incredible food and service. Such a cute vibe. I had the salmon and my friend had the fish of the day. The dessert was surprisingly amazing, beautifully plated and reasonably priced. I'll be there again.

Yelp
Came for breakfast. Pancakes no good, French toast no good. Both looked weird and tasted weird. Best part was bacon. Also the water glass on table dirty and coffee came with a gnat- yay! The staff were all nice and happy so one star for that. Second star for convenience since attached to our hotel. Friends are here as well and said their food was good - so who knows.

Yelp
This is a really cute spot with nice indoor and outdoor dining and had a lot of availability for Sat night. Reviews were mixed but we decided to try it. Service started out very quickly and friendly. My husband ordered a watermelon mojito and it was just ok. We weren't crazy hungry so I ordered the salmon and it was delicious. It was a bit raw in the middle but it still tasted great...except a bit overpowered by the cinnamon flavor. My husband got the corn empanadas with a side of beans/rice. He really enjoyed both but there was way more rice than beans. The place is a bit overpriced for what it is but I'm finding that's just Miami pricing. The server was not so attentive later and when we asked for the check, he did a drive by and and barely even looked at us when he dropped it off (hence, one star less). Gratuity was already included so guess no incentive...again, seems to be a Miami thing and not a great one. But overall it was really good food, quick service and good ambiance. The other staff bringing water and bread was very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Visited this establishment for lunch for Miami Spice. The restaurant was very accommodating and was able to seat my party of 8. We ordered from the Miami spice menu which offered a three course menu. For the appetizer, I had the beer battered Mahi Mahi. It was lightly battered, very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Great start to the meal. For the entree, I had the salmon with quinoa and mango salsa. It was delicious. Lastly, for dessert I had the panna cotta mango. It was very creamy and delicious. My daughter had the chimichurri steak and avocado salad which she really enjoyed. Everyone was so pleased and enjoyed the meal. Staff is very friendly and had great menu suggestion. Definitely a must try.

Yelp
Quality of food and service were excellent. We splurged for the lobster empanada. It was meaty with a lot of lobster. Squid ink was used to make the exterior black, but it doesn't really change the flavor. We thought it was a risky order, but ended up being one of the best things we ate during our trip. Ceviche was fresh and cocktails were excellent too. They made a mocktail for my pregnant wife that she loved. Will go back again for our next trip.

Yelp
In these times of boredom and isolation, you can catch cabin fever really quick. When things bagan to get better and restaurants were opening up again we made it a point to come to OLA. I love restaurants in the Miami Beach area. The vibe and the breeze of the ocean is a killer combination for a great time, OLA did not let us down. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess, provided some sanitizer and work quickly seated as we had reservations. The ambience was spectacular, although It's the Beach the restaurant had this feel that your somewhere on an island in the Caribbean. Palm trees, neon lights and music set the tone but the elegance reminds you your in the city. We glanced at the menu and decided to give the grilled octopus salad and lobster empanada a try to start off. Then went with the Lamb and cashew Brussel sprouts for our shareable main course. I would say the courses are on par for individuals. We decided to share the main course because we didn't want to over eat. Honestly, we really wanted to enjoy our meal and company since it had been a while we had been out from the grounds of suburbia into the blissful nightlife and ambience of the beach. Let's talk about how good this grilled octopus was. The texture, superb... the char? Perfecto! Octopus can be tricky, you want that right combination of not overly chewy with a nice grilled firm consistency. The passionfruit glaze and black olive aïoli really give the kale and cherry tomatoes a sweet and fresh taste. I didn't know what to expect from the lobster empanada, i've had black squid ink pasta and it's delicious so when we looked at the menu and noticed the dough was with squid ink, I was like gotta try! How often do you get that type of combination, never let's do it ! Delicious all across the board. The dough was nice and flaky around the middle and edges but gently firm around the crust. The lobster simply amazing, as Floridians were used to spiny lobster but this Maine lobster, fire! You would think hazelnut would be for your coffee not for your rack of lamb sorry? Wronggg! The chocolatey nutty flavor is not overpowering at all and blends in perfect with the meat. The lamb was perfectly cooked, you know with lamb it could be hit or miss. Some of these restaurants sell you a big piece of meat that's all fat. Every bite was delicious, juicy and flavorful. Let's not forget about our side dish the cashew Brussel sprouts. I really liked this side, The cashew crust really added a nutty and crunchy flavor and taste the paired well with the lamb. Honestly, it was a very enjoyable meal with great ambience in the heart of the city. I would love to come back and try some of their other dishes. All positives, come and check it out.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to dine here because we were staying at the Gates Double tree and our kids fell asleep in the stroller so we just went downstairs for a date night. We were absolutely pleased with how delicious everything was. We started off with drinks. I got the Cojito and he got the Vodka-jito. Strong and absolutely delicious. The cojito had coconut which was so refreshing. We started off with the salmon ceviche, wow. The salmon cut was fresh along with the cucumber. The acidity of the dressing, wow. Along with the pan de bono- we ordered five to go- that is how delicious it was. For our entrees I got the Roast Cuban Pork and he got the chicken. The Cuban pork was the best pork I had during our stay in miami, and we did dine in three spots along española way. The mashed yucca, so savory. His chicken was tender and the gnocchi along with it, freshly made. Highly recommend this for a date night.

Yelp
We spent three days in Miami, and this was our FAVORITE place to eat! We arrived early in case they were busy (luckily for us, they were not). Had the option of sitting outside or in. We chose in. Decor and ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting. We ordered a variety of items off the menu and were blown away. Everything was cooked to perfection, and had a fantastic combination of flavors and textures. The chicharrones dish was amazing. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. The empanadas were amazing. The dessert we ordered was amazing. Hope to return one day and eat here again.

Yelp
My daughter and I came here on a late Saturday night and were greeted warmly and seated right away. The patio is beautiful and the seating was comfortable. The waiter was very professional and knowledgeable. He shared the daily specials and the gentleman filling up our water glasses was very attentive. I was pleasantly surprised with the good portions on the main menu items. The chicken was popping with flavor and I loved the texture of the sweet potato gnocchis. The flavor of the sauce blended well. The restaurant was very clean and inviting.

Yelp
Okay, so a friend of mine was "stuck" in Miami after missing her connection due to an airline delay. Common theme this time of year, right? She gave me a ring and we decided to go out to dinner. We could not have been any more pleased to come across this little gem. It was such a beautiful night out that no one was sitting inside. We sat outside also. The outside patio was nice, next to one of the water inlets on the beach with nice lighting and lush vegetation. Indoors is nice too with a really nice bar. We decided to share food. We began with short rib empanadas, which we enjoyed. We ordered the Cuban pork roast and the Creole chicken. Both were flavorful and delicious. The pork virtually melted in your mouth; it was so tender. We shared the Patagonia for dessert. It sounded good on the menu, but neither of us had any idea the goodness that was coming our way. The staff was incredibly courteous and attentive. It was an overall great experience. I'd absolutely recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. It is pricey though, so expect to pay up at the end.

Yelp
Great ambience and amazing foods. Came here for a bachelorette's first dinner and we loved it. My favorite was meatballs with foie gras sauce. Empenadas were delicious too. Friendly servers as well.

Yelp
The food here was excellent! I had the corn empanadas, my mom had the fish tacos, and we shared a side of plantains. Everything was super creative and thoughtfully prepared. The restaurant itself was beautiful, too. Prices for food was fair but I was annoyed that we were charged $4 EACH for tap water. Would still recommend.

Yelp
This is attached to the hotel we stayed at for my birthday, so night 1 we decided to try this restaurant out. Service was great, food was delicious. Recommendation: order the brussel sprout and toasted cashew side!! I'm gonna be weird and talk about comped breakfast. Didn't matter what I showed up wearing, they remained friendly. I asked one server for almond milk, ketchup and hot sauce and he went "we don't got that here". We stared at each other then laughed (cause obviously they have it). The next morning we arrived and instead of a small side of almost milk, I got a large cup. Never happened before. By day 3 server was like "Coffee, almond milk, ketchup and hot sauce?" Ayyyeee They won't be like this with everyone. They're professionals and they seem to have a good sense of who they can share their humor with. Otherwise, they'll be serious. Sometimes I review food and other times I review people. I think this one is more about the people cause the food is obviously good, but service gives it a good boost.

Yelp
OLA in Miami Beach has delicious and flavorful food that is well prepared. I really like the location and atmosphere that they have available here. I have really enjoyed everything that I have ordered from here. Excellent customer service.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. The service is outstanding, your water doesn't get empty and your table stays clean. The cocktails are so yummy and made just right. We started with appetizers, the lobster ceviche was absolutely amazing. So flavorful. We got the special and holy moly, the size of the fish and the variety that came with it was perfect! What a great anniversary dinner!

Yelp
Excellent ceviche! Drinks were mediocre at best, highly over-priced for what they are. The food is good overall. The $300 price tag for two people, was a bit too much. If I paid $150, it would be 4.5 star.

Yelp
The classic ceviche was excellent. We had CVI.CHE the next night to compare, and I actually preferred the thinly cut fish at Ola to Cvi.che. The civiche dishes are small, so you probably want a main, or share a main.

Yelp
I recently tried OLA with a group of Elites, we specifically went bc the Miami Spice looked amazing! Upon arrival, the waiter greeted us and gave us plenty of options of cocktail recommendations, I went with the Miami Vice, and it did not disappoint! My friends tried Sangria, Mojito, and Moscow Mule, however mine was by far the best! Something unique was that the straw was edible, and gave the Miami Vice an extra special touch. For appetizers we tried the crab cake ceviche, and avocado salad, main course we all went with the Skirt Steak. For dessert, we were looking forward to the yuka cake with ice cream, but it was not available.. we tried the other options (panna cotta & bread pudding), which were good but not our first choice.. the experience was good, but unfortunately the whole time we were rushed to leave because they had to clear the space for dinner.. we did have a reservation, and we had a good time, food was great, something odd was that the waiter gave us his name and requested us all to write a 5 star review..(we never mentioned being Elite, or yelp, they wanted reviews on another platform). A personal pet peeve of mine is being rushed out, i was specifically asked to leave so they could clear the table, so unfortunately I cannot give the 5 star review the restaurant staff requested considering they rushed me to eat, pay & leave.

Yelp
The worst culinary experience in Miami so far. I feel like I've eaten at a school canteen. Main dishes average $35-40. My chicken was dry, and the mashed potatoes tasted old and sour. It's located on a very noisy street, so you won't enjoy their terrace anyway. Additionally, you'll get cracked plates and slow service for $50+ per person (one main and tea in a bag).

Yelp
The food was not very flavorful. Very under seasoned. I had the ceviche, which had to much lime and no salt. Snapper was under seasoned and I didn't understand the flavorless peppers and plantains underneath the fish. This was such a disappointment for our over priced meals. Hopefully, this was just a bad day because if not someone needs to revamped the menu or chef. However, the one star rating was because the service was great! That was the only good experience we had at OLA.

Yelp
OLA is fabulous! I recently hosted a small, private event at OLA where we learned how to make ceviche and mojitos with the guidance of their culinary experts. My guests enjoyed every second of this, and they're still raving about it. The food and drinks were EXQUISITE, and I can't wait to take guests back to OLA in the future.

Yelp
Foods and services are pretty good. They are on high end scale in terms of money. But if you looking for a nice out dinner, OLA is a place for you.

Yelp
This was a great experience! We had five appetizers for the two of us. We were planning to order an entree, but the five appetizers more than stuffed us. We got the lobster empanada, short rib empanada, ola meatballs, chicharron, mixto ceviche, and we ended with some dessert. The service was great! I really loved the short rib empanadas. They were crispy on the outside and the flavors on the inside were wonderful! The meatballs were melt in your mouth soft. The chicharron were the best! I would recommend this place!

Yelp
The ceviche selection is to die for and I can highly recommend the lobster ceviche as a minimum. The cocktails pack a punch (we had the signature margarita and a pear caipiroska) so sip slowly. We ordered 4 appetizers in addition to two ceviches as we wanted a tapas style experience. Everything was marvelous. Beautifully plated, fresh, colorful and inviting. The little cheesy Colombian bread rolls were a delight. However I'm struggling to understand why there was nothing after dinner in the offing. No coffee? No dessert? No digestif? Seriously? Did we offend the waiter? Why weren't we upsold? Curious

Yelp
We always go to Ola when we are in Miami. We love the place. To start off Edel our waiter was so nice , a real stand out. He had a great sweet and calm personality that made you feel welcome. My sister and I started with the empanadas and they were very good we usually get the meatballs but this time wanted to try something new. Then our main course was the filet mignon with chimchurri sauce. It was delicious and the steak was so tender. The portion was huge and we brought some home. For dessert we got the Patagonia pistachio desert. It was just the right combination of sweet and tart. Cake on the bottom, ice cream in the middle and meringue on top . Surrounded by fresh berries. It was wonderful. Definitely a recommendation

Yelp
We didn't have a great experience at our hotel and we were traipsing up and down Collins Ave looking for a place to eat. We were outside OLA mulling over the menu when a spectacularly tall man came out of it and simply said "just go in...it's ridiculously good". After the shock of unsolicited feedback, another absurdly tall gentleman said "he's not lying...it surprised us how good it was. Go inside, find the tall waiter and tell him you want exactly what the 2 tall men just had!". They marched off. So now intrigued...we had to go inside. It was exactly what we wanted. Calm, quiet and attentive vibe. Food was amazing! Fine dining Latin cuisine. We had the churricon which was calamari and shrimp in a sweet chili sauce with additional Fresh chili's and coriander. We also had smoked salmon tacos which initially felt like tuna but as you commit to the bites, you realize it's a complicated flavour that develops more as you chew and I ended up really liking it. For main we had the filet mignon and it was simply divine. Cooked to perfection. We had two appetizers and shared one main and we couldn't finish - the servings were generous and cooked with attention and love. Service was excellent.
