First stop on our taco tour! Not the first place I've been with tacos and donuts, but both are great and worth the stop.
Parking lot, prob 30-40 spots, one way parking. Double drive thru lanes if you want donuts or donuts and tacos, and they were moving.
Inside, donut counter on the right, tacos on the left. Everyone was ordering separately at each counter, so it seems thats the way. Getting through both lines was quick, even with a line, and everyone was very nice. There's some crossover of traffic between waiting, picking up, getting drinks. So people on canes or with questionable valance might wanna wait at a table. Dining room was cute, all painted up with murals.
Patio outside surrounded with a fence and plants had tower heaters and fans and is shaded. I'd hang out there.
Food!! We just took a sampling of what we know, for comparison.
Donuts: donut holes seemed hard in the bag but melted in your mouth. They are sweet without being overwhelming. Pretty perfect.
Chocolate glazed, that chocolate is so familiar but not the typical. It's a glazed donut slathered in chocolate. So good!!
Cinnamon crumb: it was like coffee cake topping on a cake donut. I could eat too many of those!
Tacos!!!
Avocado taco was exactly that. Avocado on flour. Fresh and perfectly ripe and a great break between the savory tacos.
Picadillo: oily as necessary, well seasoned, my comfort taco.
Machacado: flavorful! Not oily but not dry. Good balance of meat to onions, eggs, and bell pepper.
Carne asada: good but too dry for our preference. I'd prob add eggs next time.
Definitely worth a stop for donuts, tacos, or both.
