The 14 Essential San Antonio Restaurants

"On any given day the drive-thru line at the Maverick neighborhood shop might flow into the street and, during peak hours, it might even spill over into the parking lot of the adjacent Texaco. People from far and wide come to this bakery and taqueria for the toasted bean and cheese tacos. Sure, everything on the menu shines, including its wide variety of specialty doughnuts, but the toasted bean and cheese (with or without bacon) is a Fredericksburg Road delicacy. Takeout orders can be placed in person or online, and there are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Polly Anna Rocha, Ben Gonzalez

Google
Authentic breakfast tacos and donuts at a great price! I got the bean & cheese, bean & cheese w/bacon toasted, and the chorizo & egg. All were filled nicely. I could barely finish all 3 tacos. They are made fresh and came out hot. The salsa is good to add some flavor spice. I poured it all over all my tacos. I wanted to get the cinnamon crumb cake donut since heard good things but they were out so I got the cinnamon twist donut which was solid. Had an original donut and nice cinnamon taste. It wasn’t fresh when I got it but I can’t be upset about that since I went at 1. Service isn’t friendly but it wasn’t bad enough to steer me away. Definitely worth checking out and I’ll be back.

The service was nice and quick. The food was absolutely delicious. We will be coming back tomorrow. We didn't get any donuts, just tacos. The tortillas were homemade and thick, absolutely delicious. The meat was super tender. We got 2 carne guisada tacos with cheese and potatoes, beef fajita taco, and carne asada taco. I would suggest no potato with the carne guisada, it's perfectly fine by itself. The fajita with the onions and bell peppers was amazing. My husband said the carne asada was good, but next time he'll get the fajita instead. As soon as we finished a guy came and cleaned our table for us. Service was outstanding, and prices were very reasonable. They have a drive thru as well.

Google
Haven’t been here in years glad to see everything still made fresh. My order got messed up, but they fixed it promptly and gave me the difference and change. They overcharged me for another taco, but I ordered something less expensive. That being said they took care of it no big deal. Only thing is it gets crowded here so that means it’s good so but that also means limited space sat at the counter and got bumped like three times sitting in my stool so I recommend sitting at a table.

Craving donuts and breakfast tacos? You don’t have to choose. The Original Donut Shop on Fredericksburg Rd is a local favorite that lets you indulge in both without making two stops. Be prepared—it gets busy. Whether you're going through the drive-thru or dining in, get there early or plan to wait. The drive-thru has two lines: one for donuts and tacos, and a separate one for tacos only. Just note: if you're in the drive-thru, you won’t see the full donut selection like you would inside. On my first visit, I ordered: A small apple fritter A cinnamon crumble donut A chocolate-filled donut Two bacon & egg breakfast tacos (with red and green salsa) All of that came to about $14.50. Highlights: Apple Fritter: Great flavor, classic and tasty. Cinnamon Crumble: Outstanding. Moist cake texture with just the right amount of cinnamon—my favorite of the bunch. Chocolate-Filled Donut: Light, fluffy, with a rich chocolate center and just the right glaze. Breakfast Tacos: Simple and solid. The red salsa is spicier than average (in a good way), and the green salsa is flavorful and fresh. Both complemented the tacos really well. Final Verdict: Great food at a reasonable price. If you're in San Antonio and want a one-stop breakfast shop that covers sweet and savory, the Original Donut Shop is absolutely worth the visit.

Google
Buy Farm the best place to warm breakfast tacos. Tortillas remind me of growing up at my grandmother's house. Play stuff that tacos men have fabulous flavor. Definitely a place to come back over and over and over

Google
This place was the winner for best breakfast tacos on my latest visit to San Antonio. Nothing fancy, just classic, old school breakfast tacos done right. The flour tortillas were clearly fresh and the fillings full of flavor. Of those I tried, my favorite was the chorizo and egg. I’ll be back!

Google
Eat Here!! You can’t go wrong the best taco spot in my opinion! Breakfast tacos everyday I was there & some killer donuts as well 5 stars Hands down

Chris Pina

Google
I don’t mind when there’s a language barrier, but when you mess up my order then tell me you did not it just frustrates me; especially when you refuse to correct it and tell me I’m wrong. Given I understand chorizo is a sausage it’s not sausage 🤷🏽‍♂️ She made something simple, very frustrating. Management needs to speak to their employees about these things. Check your receipts people.

Yelp
Coming from a border town,I did not expect the breakfast tacos to be this good!! I can always gauge if a restaurant's Mexican food will be good by the quality of their tortillas and salsa, and these were the best I've had in San Antonio (I've lived here for a decade now). The donuts were also among the best I've ever tasted; the cinnamon pretzel donut was amazing. We're definitely coming back for more!!

Yelp
We have been going to The Original Donut Shop for more than 15 years! Today they got my order wrong, I notice it after getting home. So I called them and the person answered the phone was very overwhelmed. I understood, since I have worked in the restaurant industry as a GM, server, back of the house. All positions. Finally they passed the phone to someone that said she was the "GM" I asked her for her name after she asked me more than once what was my name was. She told me "I don't need to give you my name" "this is a private business". "I don't know who you are". That's so crazy to me that you as a "GM" can't give my a name. She told me to bring the tacos back and they would fix it. I would love to bring back the tacos at a later time but she didn't even give me the time of day to solve the problem. I told her I would leave a review and she said she didn't care. Poor customer service from a "GM" I would never!!! The food is so good but I won't support someone that is running a restaurant so poorly that she can't talk it out with me. Not even give me her name! Crazy.

Yelp
Don't let the long line (inside) worry you. They have a big staff and you get food quickly. I can't speak for the drive-through. Lazy people would rather block the road with a long line of stopped cars than walk twenty feet. But I digress. On one side, they have a donut shop. On the other is a taco shop. The public areas are always clean. There is usually a person busily cleaning and resetting tables. The donuts are very good in quality and taste. The same goes for the tacos. Prices are competitive. This is one of my go-to breakfast places.

Yelp
The best tacos and the best donuts all in one place. Yes please!!!! The Original Donut is the place to bring you family and friends from out of town. If they want fresh everything. Tacos are really good and fresh. My favorite and a must have is the bean and cheese toasted. You have to ask for it toasted. Get what you want and wait for your number to be called. But while you wait go get you some fresh made donuts. They don't last long so get there early. When you sit down you will see a sea of foil. Where everyone is unwrapping their delicious tacos. It is a matter of time you get yours. The cooks are working real hard to complete tons of orders so it takes patience. But IMO the best overall place to eat breakfast tacos and get donuts to go. I mean where else can you do this.
google avatar

Regina R.

Yelp
I ordered a barbacoa taco with onion and cilantro. They did not give me the onion and cilantro. My taco was full of thick, sticky fat and vein-like tubes in it. The disappointment was surprising because they usually offer great food.
google avatar

Gilberto C.

Yelp
Food ok,is clean, order and pay first means not a restaurant. We were 12 people, three order enchilada plates not appetizing to the eye. Everyone else asked for tacos in which all of them were served in a guess which one is yours overall I wouldn't come again or recommend it sorry!!

Jarvis O.

Yelp
Wasn't really blown away by donuts , but my God was the breakfast tacos the best I ever had! Great customer service, ideal location Can't wait to return!
google avatar

Rich L.

Yelp
THEY HAVE THE BEST CHOCOLATE DONUTS! Enough said! This is a small joint that serves donuts & tacos! Weird combination but hey, it works because they're always busy, yet are very nice and patient with you while you order. This is an establishment where you walk up and order then it's open seating. I also tried the carne guisada taco and it was legit. I've been here a few times and I always return. It's not the most aesthetically appealing place but the food slaps. It won't disappoint. Peace.

Yelp
The donuts were the best part of eating here! In particular, the Boston cream was amazing as was the apple fritter and the cinnamon sugar donut. The orange flavor in the orange donut was a little understated and the chocolate frosted was good, though I probably wouldn't order it again. They didn't have any specialty coffee drinks but the coffee was better than your average diner. The tortillas were very good, maybe the best I had in San Antonio but the eggs and bacon filling in my taco was very greasy. The busser was really nice and the person at the donut counter was friendly. The inside of the restaurant was older but clean. The prices were very affordable.

Yelp
I've read mixed reviews on this place, but we've never had a bad experience, the food is delicious, especially the homemade flour tortillas bring back so many childhood memories, I usually prefer corn tortilla, which are very good here, but when I see the ladies making them there on the spot, I have to get at least one, it's always crowded, limited seating indoors, but we didn't have to wait long for a tablethey do have an outdoor seating also..the donuts are fresh too

Yelp
Long time residents and foodies of San Antonio know The Original Donut is a classic SA establishment. Their toasted bean and cheese is an essential dish of the city. While the shop is known for tacos more than their donuts, that doesn't mean that it should be this way. The tacos here are sized and priced as a steal. For $10 you'll get three or four jumbo tacos on freshly made flour tortillas. The let down is in the taste. Each taco tastes pretty, well, bland. Black pepper is missing in most of them, and salt is missing in all of them. Salt and pepper packs are provided, but guests should have to add flavor themselves. Imagine cooking eggs in a pan at home with only a little butter. Those are the eggs used in these tacos. Taco ingredients need salt. Without it you get these tacos which are admittedly fine, but fine doesn't cut it in a city with many excellent taco options. The Original Donut Shop should promote their donuts far more because they are a completely different story to their tacos. There are a few donut houses around town that make a mighty fine donut, but I promise you the donuts here are better. Way better. For $10 you can get a dozen mixed donuts of your choosing and become everyone's favorite in the office. The donuts look good, smell great, and taste bonkers good! Maybe this isn't a convenient location to get to, but it's worth getting here just for fresh morning donuts. Once you're know that parking isn't easy. The drive thru line regularly extends down a very busy Fredericksburg Rd causing back ups. Bypass the line and enter their compact but useful parking lot and go in for your order. This will save you time especially if you're not in a hurry. So overall come for the donuts and skip the tacos. Try a toasted bean and cheese because it is a legacy food of San Antonio, but outside that, save the calories for another chocolate glazed or seasonal donut.

Yelp
So good! The Apple fritter was out of this world. We tried the bean and cheese tacos, because it was our first visit and that's what had been recommended. We tried toasted on flor tortillas and not toasted on corn tortillas- both were great but I'd suggest toasted! Cute local joint. The staff were super friendly and helpful too.
google avatar

Yelp
Best menudo I have had recently--lots of tripe in every spoonful, balanced with plenty of hominy and broth was not too watery nor too spicy but just wonderfully delicious! Flour tortillas were soft and just like my grandma made! I only ate 1/2 of large bowl with 1 tortilla and was full until past lunch time! Donuts were freshly made though cold from sitting out but very good to balance out menudo! Great breakfast and start to a Sunday.
google avatar

Yelp
Do not miss this place!!! The best hole in the wall place in San Antonio! While it says donut shop, don't be fooled! This is the best breakfast and lunch place around! About 20+ varieties of tacos! My favorites are the carne Mexicana and the Piccadillo! The tortillas are hand made right in front of you! They are literally making skillets of foods to keep their bins full! An absolute treat... unless you're on a diet. Oh they have donuts too and they're really good too! Get there early because parking is a nightmare but that's easily overlooked when you taste the food! Did I mention the price is right?
google avatar

Yelp
This place might be called The Original Donut Shop, but the best thing about them are their breakfast tacos! If you are looking for delicious and authentic San Antonio style breakfast tacos, this is the place for you. My go-to are their bean and cheese, bacon and eggs, and guisada. If I had to only choose one taco, I would go for their guisada taco with flour tortilla. The seasoning of the meat is spot on, and the meat is so soft and flavourful. The tortillas are made from scratch and absolutely delicious. Frankly I think they have the best breakfast tacos in the entire city. However, keep in mind that if you come here on the weekend you are going to have to wait a loooooong time and they can run out of flour tortillas. If you are new to the city and looking for a delicious breakfast, make sure to try The Original Donut Shop!
google avatar

Yelp
Drive thru is not the fastest but employee was very friendly and helpful. The food was well worth the wait with the donuts be as fresh and delicious as any I've had.

Yelp
Not worth the hype. We visited from Austin. Every taco place in San Antonio is SUPERB and this place left me wondering why my experience was so meh. We waited in line for over 35 mins with only 2 cars ahead of us. They got our order wrong TWICE. We didn't even go back the 2nd time because we had already been there an hour. They missed 2 of our donuts, 2 of our tacos and for the 6 tacos we did get we got 2 tiny salsas and a fork. I would NOT recommend this place. The guisada wasn't tender. The bean and cheese was just so so and the other tacos were missing. I am being generous with 3 stars.

Yelp
One thing about me is that I love a taco drive thru spot. When I first moved here, my coworkers always said Original Donut Shop had some of the best tacos and they do! I think it's their tortillas that bring them to the next level. They make them homemade and you can tell! I've tried a couple of breakfast tacos and I'm a fan. Only note was that I needed to salt my bean and cheese taco, but they had salt packet in the bag. Their salsa is really good too!! I haven't tried their donuts or other breakfast plates, but will be back one day to try those too! Woman who took my order was very kind and in good spirits so the service was great.

Carolina L.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try since my husband and I always pass by and see a long line. The lady who took our order, MONICA, was very unprofessional and completely ruined our appetite and experience. We were very respectful and asked for her recommendations. When she went back inside, she began rolling her eyes, making unnecessary hand movements and all of her coworkers (but a nice young lady with glasses) were laughing. After reading reviews, it seems like her poor behavior is very repetitive and that says a lot about this establishment if they continue to keep her awful customer service. Will not be coming back.
google avatar

Felix G.

Yelp
Not a bad spot for doughnuts and tacos. They segregate the two so be ready to hit two lines if you want both. My youngest loved the bean and cheese tacos the guisado taco is pretty decent huevo ala Mexicana is good too. As per the doughnuts, se dan un tiro con Shipley's. The only hiccup with this spot is the staff thinks that you have been there before and expect you to know how it all works with no help. You have to walk up to both counters share the only two menus in the entire restaurant and also know what the doughnuts are with no names or indications as to what they are or filled with. No waiters or waitresses, it's a serve yourself and they still expect a tip. What's next... expecting to tip at McDonalds?

Yelp
The breakfast tacos and the donuts tasted good. The restaurant was so cute! It was a great spot to stop before going into San Antonio.

Yelp
Came in on Sunday morning and the drive through line was already out onto the road. Luckily, was able to find parking and came inside. Lines were a bit long but they move fast so don't give up just because you see a big wait. Tacos: Tacos are large and come in a freshly heated flour tortilla. The tortillas are different than what you'd find in a grocery store: a bit thicker and fluffier. I believe these are made in house, based on the reviews. They come with two types of salsas which are above average. Bean & Cheese Taco - $2 Exactly what it says: refried beans and cheese taco, but it's a great value with the amount you get for the price. Chorizon & Egg - $2.50 This taco was a bit blander than what I was hoping for, but they had salsa I could add to it. Again, a great value for the price. Barbacoa - $4.00 This taco is only available on a weekend. Good flavor but wish it had something other than just meat (e.g. onions, cilantro). Again, at least they had salsa. Carne Guisada - $3.50 I believe this is a meat stew like taco. Good flavor, was something new so glad I tried it! Papa Ranchera - $2 This was just potatoes and something else that made it red. This was a recommendation by the person who took my order. It was pretty good considering I had low expectations when I opened up the taco. Apple Fritter - $2 The apple fritter was made some time before I actually got it, however, it was quite fluffy. I don't even really like apple fritters but this one was one I could actually eat and enjoy, which says a lot! Boston Cream Filled Donut - $1.25 Super dense and the Boston cream was meh. Wouldn't recommend this one. All in all, a great experience! I can see why they're so packed. Good flavor for great value. Expect to wait a little bit after you place your order but worth the wait for the large quantities and the fresh tortillas! Would come back when I'm in the area and would recommend.

Yelp
Cafeteria style restaurant! The ladies are killing it working so hard in the kitchen! Tables are cleaned off just as quickly as people leave. Their tacos are authentic taste and big! Their donuts are so good but get there early because once they are out of a flavor, they are out!

James L.

Yelp
Amazing food, great prices, clean and friendly. Check it out, you won't regret the sweet or the savory choice you make; choose both!
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
The tortilla speaks for themselves 10/10, guisado taco was really filling and hit the spot I forgot to take a picture of the donuts but I highly recommend getting apple fritter!!! Service was good Only thing I saw that was confusing The place is really small they have 2 separate lines one for food and one for donuts Same goes for the drive thru either you want donuts or tacos But I recommend you getting off and getting there before 10 am

Catherine P.

Yelp
If you're wondering why this place always has a line, it's not because it's good, but because the drive thru moves so slow. It's all about perception.
google avatar

Naomi C.

Yelp
Worth the wait! Seems like everyone is in a rush, test your patience you will not be disappointed with The Original Donut Shop! I love that they keep everything small and limited. I have seen some places make adjustments and spend too much money on trying to make it convenient!! Spend money on paying your employees and good food! Everything is going up and customer service is going down! Everything on the menu is great! The crispy bean and cheese so yummy! I do enjoy their Carneguisada with cheese! Their lunch specials are great too and the donuts are amazing!
google avatar

Marie S.

Yelp
Not just for donuts! Best breakfast tacos in town. Be prepared to see a line, but it does move. There is parking around the side of the building, and plenty of seating inside and out. Huge menu with lots of options for your breakfast tacos. Don't forget to get a donut to go. Basic black coffee.

Ralph P.

Yelp
The Original Donut Shop has been going downhill lately. I went there this morning and ordered two tacos, one of which was supposed to have sausage and egg. I asked the cashier twice if it had egg, and he said it did. But when I got to my destination, I found that the taco didn't have any egg. I called the shop to let them know about the mistake, but they wouldn't refund me unless I drove all the way back. They said they could replace it if I went back but I wasn't about drive 40 minutes for one taco . It's frustrating to be inconvenienced for their error. Unfortunately, this kind of poor food and service has become more common at this place.
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
Great chicharron tacos. Went there for the first time on a Saturday. Place was packed. They need more space, especially the donut side. No military or senior discounts. I was told "too many seniors come here so we would lose a ton of money". They have staff in the dining room cleaning tables and keeping them turned over. Food is relatively cheap. My advice would be go during low traffic hours ie mid morning mid afternoon weekdays. Expect lots of people otherwise. They have a good system to move people in and out so wait times are not unreasonable. Outside there's two drive through lines, one for units and one for tacos. Genius.

Oscar C.

Yelp
Do not miss this place!!! The best hole in the wall place in San Antonio! While it says donut shop, don't be fooled! This is the best breakfast and lunch place around! About 20+ varieties of tacos! My favorites are the carne Mexicana ,,a long time patron from high school years at Thomas Jefferson
google avatar

Israel G.

Yelp
Being a Fan of Taco Chronicles on Netflix and a resident of San Antonio it was a must and Taste. The location is a bit dated but very clean. The staff are very nice and always smiling. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and a filled doughnut. My wife was not with me so indulged a bit with cream filled doughnut. The food is very tasty and not greasy at all. The tortillas that came with the plate were hot and soft. Although they did harden a bit when they cooled off ( My Moms are better). Aside from that, the plate was well portioned, full of flavor and consistent with the taste. I also enjoyed the filled doughnut, it was a bit small but completely filled. It wasn't like others, all dough and no nuts. In the end I do recommend a visit. You will get the real feel and taste of Texas here.
google avatar

Celeste G.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots for tacos and donuts. I have yet to have something here I don't like. The cashiers/order takers are really fast and efficient! You can get donuts in both lines, only go to the inside lane when you know you definitely won't block traffic and be ready to order so we can all get our hot donuts and tacos as quickly as possible.
google avatar

Fernando M.

Yelp
Amazing service and the food is just delicious. Tried all the plates already. They are fast even when the place is busy and the donuts are delicious too. I visit twice or more per week.
google avatar

Roxanne E.

Yelp
Everything is delicious!! I highly recommend the sausage taco, barbacoa, and carne guisada! The donuts are very tasty too!
google avatar

Ricardo P.

Yelp
I have been doing research here in SA trying to find high quality breakfast tacos for years now. One of the places that constantly comes up is this restaurant. I finally had the chance to pick up breakfast tacos and donuts from here. The ability to order online or place phone order ahead of time helps with wait times. This place was packed when I went around 9 am on a weekend. Luckily, the food was totally worth it. I could tell the tortillas were hand made. The breakfast tacos were delicious and reminded me of those I would eat back home. The donuts were tasty as well. Highly recommend this place for donuts and tacos.
google avatar

Orlando M.

Yelp
How can The SA Current call this the best place for tacos? They do not have Barbacoa, which is a San Antonio staple, and you can not order Chorizo con Huevo a la mexicana....what......... The menudo was mediocre at best. No real Chile nothing but powder. Stick to deep west side San Antonio for tacos Over crowded and over priced.
google avatar

Rich M.

Yelp
Another San Antonio staple needed to be sampled. They make BIG tacos here. It was good, fresh, and not too pricey. The doughnuts were good also. However, this city is absolutely bursting with mexican restaurants that do exactly what they do here (minus the doughnuts) and for that reason nothing stood out. It's good and efficient. I can imagine this place being an office favorite because you can get your breakfast tacos and doughnuts at the same place. It's a solid business model.
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
Holy crap. Why has it taken me so long to try this place!!! It gets busy so be prepared. Staff was amazing. The place was clean. They had me at their tortillas. They were sooooo good. I will definitely be back again and again. If you haven't tried go. This place is San Antonio.

Toby S.

Yelp
I was there solo for the first time this week mid AM dine -inside, I enjoyed my huevos rancheros! this gringo loved the delicious torts and different hot sauces the friendly staff really stood out ; they welcomed you , answered your questions ! Don't let the long drive through line deter you: go past them and turn in to the Right & just park: there's plenty places with ' coming and going 'and order inside . Pleased I finally got to come to this San Antonio landmark.!
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh, always busy. Tight ordering space but worth a little hassle and wait. Some of the best Tex-Mex and donuts in town!

Jose H.

Yelp
Donuts are very good. The tacos are big and tasty. Had a barbacoa taco that was good. The people at the register are nice. Most of it is self serve. The patio was nice a a beautiful day.
google avatar

Felix P.

Yelp
Gone Way Way Way Down hill...I'm sorry to say I was totally underwhelmed last week when I came back here.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Busy busy place! Walk up ordering, seat yourself kind of a restaurant. No table servers. Walk up fountain drinks. Food is very yummy and orders are ready fairly quickly. Drive through lane was long! You know it's good if people willingly to wait.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Tried this place out based on a recommendation from staff at the hotel my bf and I were staying at. We ordered a few different items to try out. Chorizo + papa breakfast tacos were really good! My bf tried a chilaquiles plate which I would not recommend to get if you wanted the traditional chilaquiles, it seemed more like a scramble with tortilla chips which we made into breakfast tacos instead. So the flavor was good just not what I would consider chilaquiles. Menudo was okay, but probably not their specialty. If I go back I would probably stick to breakfast tacos! The staff were working really hard and fast paced, we didn't really wait too long for our order (we ordered and ate inside) but the drive thru line was definitely long!
google avatar

Angel W.

Yelp
I waited in the donut togo line for at least 40 mins for a half of a dozen of mediocre glazed donuts and a hot chocolate. The lady working the station, monica, was very rude and had no sense of urgency. This used to be one of my favorite places but after this experience i was very disappointed.

Yelp
First stop on our taco tour! Not the first place I've been with tacos and donuts, but both are great and worth the stop. Parking lot, prob 30-40 spots, one way parking. Double drive thru lanes if you want donuts or donuts and tacos, and they were moving. Inside, donut counter on the right, tacos on the left. Everyone was ordering separately at each counter, so it seems thats the way. Getting through both lines was quick, even with a line, and everyone was very nice. There's some crossover of traffic between waiting, picking up, getting drinks. So people on canes or with questionable valance might wanna wait at a table. Dining room was cute, all painted up with murals. Patio outside surrounded with a fence and plants had tower heaters and fans and is shaded. I'd hang out there. Food!! We just took a sampling of what we know, for comparison. Donuts: donut holes seemed hard in the bag but melted in your mouth. They are sweet without being overwhelming. Pretty perfect. Chocolate glazed, that chocolate is so familiar but not the typical. It's a glazed donut slathered in chocolate. So good!! Cinnamon crumb: it was like coffee cake topping on a cake donut. I could eat too many of those! Tacos!!! Avocado taco was exactly that. Avocado on flour. Fresh and perfectly ripe and a great break between the savory tacos. Picadillo: oily as necessary, well seasoned, my comfort taco. Machacado: flavorful! Not oily but not dry. Good balance of meat to onions, eggs, and bell pepper. Carne asada: good but too dry for our preference. I'd prob add eggs next time. Definitely worth a stop for donuts, tacos, or both.

Yelp
At 7:20 in the morning, I entered the store to buy some donuts before work. It wasn't crowded. The employee in the donut section seemed distracted as I entered. I greeted her with a "Good morning," but she responded only briefly. I ordered half a dozen donuts, including three plain glazed and three chocolate. She repeated my order correctly. However, when I opened the box back at my office, I discovered that all the donuts were plain glazed. As my team and I enjoyed them, we all noticed they tasted somewhat stale, as if they were at least a day old. I have to deduct three stars for the three disappointments I experienced at this place. Such a shame, because other experiences here have been good.

Yelp
Best breakfast in San Antonio, hands down. You can get in the taco/plate line on the left or the donut line on the right. The breakfast tacos are awesome. The migas plate was slightly greasy, but the refried beans are amazing, salsa is tasty, and the back porch is a lovely way to spend a Saturday morning. It's crowded but not too much.

Yelp
The tacos are the best I've ever tasted. I always get the bean and cheese taco with bacon, toasted. Their tortillas and all their ingredients are soo good.
