"“This Italian restaurant on Amsterdam in the 90s is very small—there’s books lining the walls and it looks like a library. It's casual and elegant at the same time. The eggplant parmigiano is really good, which is, for me, the mark of an Italian restaurant. The eggplant has to be cut properly, and there has to be the right balance between the cheese and the sauce and the eggplant itself—soft, with some texture, but not too much. It can’t be with too much skin. The pistachio pesto they make there is really good too.”" - sonal shah

I had the pleasure of dining, and it was an exceptional experience! The short rib ragu was absolutely divine—perfectly tender meat in a rich, flavorful sauce that paired beautifully with the pasta. For dessert, I tried the cheesecake, and it was heavenly—silky, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was outstanding. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

We held our wedding dinner at Osteria Accademia and the staff made it an incredible experience for us and our guests. Firstly, Rinor was responsive and very accommodating when we were making the reservation. Secondly, the prix fixe menu was impressive and on the day was delicious and well presented. We had a vegan among our guests and they accommodated her for all four courses which was greatly appreciated! If you want to an intimate venue to celebrate small and big moments, I recommend Osteria Accademia!

All the food was good. Waiters gave good recommendations. There was rather long wait between the appetizers and the mains.

Good Italian Restaurant on the UWS! Looks like you are in the library with all the book decor. Location: It is located in Amsterdam Ave. There is an outdoor and indoor dining but we did the indoor cause they have a display of books on the walls. The table was tiny and also the plates. Kinda congested but it’s a very cozy spot. Service: the staff were nice, they are very attentive and give us recommendations. Food: The food was good! I felt like everything was fresh and made the same day. OVEN ROASTED GARLIC BREAD: omg this was the best garlic bread I had! It was perfect with the burrata. BURRATA: it was so fresh and creamy. The beets were sweet, i was shocked cause it was so good. FRITTO MISTO: the calamari was soft inside and the outside was crispy. CACIO E PEPE RAVIOLI: omg this was the best dish! The pasta was cooked al dente and the inside is so creamy! Plus there are shredded truffles on top! Get this!! RISOTTO: this one is a must have as weel! The risotto was cooked perfectly! I can eat this everyday! BRAISED SHORT RIBS: this one is my least favorite, even though the short rib were so soft and melts in your mouth, there is nothing extraordinary about it. The sauce and mashed potato were alright. MOCHA TIRAMISU: you have to order this! It is so good! Perfect dessert! Soft and if you like mocha this is the best dessert for you. CREME BRÛLÉE: I was not a fan, the flan was soft but it has lavender flavor in it that it makes it taste like flower. ARANCIATA ROSSA: get this soda drink from Italy! It’s basically blood orange but it is so good! Price rating: 7/10. To be honest the price is not bad for the good food. I will definitely come back here and try their other food. Must haves are Risotto, ravioli and mocha tiramisu!

This is a very good Italian restaurant with very good food and ambiance. The prices are good for the value and quality. The service bread is so so, so order the garlic bread and indulge. The Caesar salad is creative with spinach, arugula, kale and romaine. The pesto has mint which caught me by surprise but it worked out. The meat sauce was very good and the ravioli with truffle was exceptional. The lasagna was a wait but worth it. The squid ink seafood pasta was the crown of the evening. We barely had room for the lamb chops and chicken parmigiana. We couldn't even finish the complimentary cannoli.

I've been here a few times, and the staff has always been friendly and accommodating and the food superb. I typically dine here when I'm having a rough day and need a good meal. I have to give my compliments to Ryan, who has always managed to find a table for me, even when it looks crowded. Sometimes a great meal can make the day feel a little less heavy. Highly recommend.
