The 38 Best Restaurants in Dublin, Ireland | Eater

"Seasonal produce is central to the menu at this casual trattoria. Ross Lewis, former head chef of two-Michelin-starred Chapter One, takes a simple approach, focusing on pasta, pizzas, and meats cooked in the wood-burning oven, including a formidable shoulder of suckling pork. Know before you go: The sharing menu is particularly good value and includes two starters, two pasta dishes, a main course, and a dessert." - Corinna Hardgrave

Osteria Lucio

"An elegant restaurant with a lively ambience, set under the railway arches and run by two experienced chefs. Carefully cooked Italian dishes are full of flavour and are accompanied by an all-Italian wine list and a good selection of cocktails. Service is friendly yet professional." - Michelin Inspector

Really nice and cozy restaurant. The burrata was excellent, along with the focaccia bread. The same goes for the carpaccio—the starters were a delight. Moving on to the sausage lasagna, it was tasty and well-balanced. The crab tagliatelle, however, was average. As for dessert, the tiramisu was disappointing—too much cream and an excessive amount of cocoa powder on top. The service was attentive, perhaps too much so. We weren’t given the option to choose between tap water and bottled water (which cost €6). On top of that, the waiter kept refilling our glasses every five minutes.

Absolutely fabulous. Best veal saltimbuco and carpaccio I’ve ever had. Mushroom gnocchi delicious. Tirmusu is FABULOUS. wait staff impeccable. Make a reservation!

Google
Osteria Lucio never disappoints — it’s always the best choice for any occasion. We stopped by in a rush last week before the theatre, and the manager, Paulo, accommodated us so warmly and efficiently. He even expedited our food to ensure we wouldn’t miss the show. The food was absolutely AMAZING, as always, paired with excellent wine and cocktails. I truly love every visit here and can’t wait to come back. Special thanks to Paulo for going above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Google
Exceptional Italian food with incredibly warm and courteous staff. We had the Big Lucio ("Eat like an Italian") which gave us a taste of dishes across the menu, including the centrepiece dish of "Suckling Pig Shoulder Al Forno", which was perfectly tender and flavoursome with a delicious crispy crackling skin. Each part of our meal, from starter to drinks, were tended to by a whole team of professional staff, with the wonderful front of house Paulo ensuring we were being looked after at all times. We will certainly be coming back to Osteria Lucio, and we will be bringing friends and family for sure.

Google
Delicious pre-theatre meal for two here over the weekend. After an initial fumble where we were directed to a tiny table wedged into a corner almost under the bar, very close to an occupied table of 6 in a half empty restaurant, the service thereafter was excellent. I asked for another table "with a bit more space" and was guided towards one after a slight delay. The quality of food is unquestionable. The arancini were very good and the Ragu was one of the best slow cooked meals my dining partner had ever tasted. The ravioli was also perfectly made, perfectly cooked and delicious. A side of delicious sourdough was the perfect scoop for the pasta sauce. Excellent Italian food served in a comfortable environment (even when the place got very busy) by experienced, attentive and efficient staff - what's not to love? We'll definitely be back.

Google
We went there for a casual dinner. The manager didn’t even greet us. When asked for still water the brought the bottled one (6euros) without asking if we like tap instead. The lemon garlic shrimps were very soft, which suggests that they were over marinated for quite some time. The staff simply doesn’t care, always in a hurry despite the restaurant not being in full capacity, we had to ask for everything (salt, pepper, olive oil), when they cleaned the table they left our used napkins on our table despite being clearly set aside to be discarded and didn’t bother getting us new ones. Ravioli was over cooked and super soft. The manager didn’t even show up to say hi or ask us about our meal, instead he was chatting with staff. In fact no one checked how is the food, do we need anything, do we want to eat more or do you want to see the desert menu. At certain moments, no one was minding the hall, everyone was either on the counter waiting for the plate, on the POS or chatting with the manager or each other. The portions were extremely small to the price offered. The bread and the side salad were surprisingly good and the tiramisu as well. Still 7 euros for two pieces of bread and a tiny dip is a rip off. This place used to serve the best pizza in the area but they cancelled that 2 years ago, at least that what the waitress told me condescendingly when I asked about it as if I am supposed to know. Even the service was amazing during its Michelin guide era. We left a very small tip, so we had to go and take our own coats. Not going there again, save your money and go somewhere else

Google
Good food. Friendly staff but not as attentive as I wished them to be. Their portion was large and fulfilling. I will visit again next time I am in town.

Google
Had a fantastic experience at Osteria Lucio. The food was delicious and of exceptional quality, every dish was beautifully prepared and packed with flavour. The service was truly unmatched; Ross, Paulo, and the entire team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after from start to finish. The building itself is so unique and adds to the fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience.

Yelp
Great ambience Great service Delicious food All in all a great experience and one of the best Italian restaurants in Dublin All the flavors were fresh, balanced and delicious. The prices were high but worth it, and would make a great night date. Definitely left relaxed and happy. Super recommend and will be going back soon.

Yelp
Roomy restaurant. We were a party of ten and we squeezed around a long table for eight. The menu has pasta and fish dishes. Everything is fresh, and flavors were nice. We all ordered pasta. The presentations were nice with garnish. The amounts were not huge like served in the states. There will be no leftovers. Eating the fresh pasta was wonderful. Service was excellent. We taxied to it, and walked back to the hotel.

Yelp
Food is amazing. They don't do pizza anymore but the quality of the Italian menu is really incredible. The staff were also very friendly and attentive which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is perfect for dinner before a show in the bord gais theatre. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Osteria Lucio was a cute little spot inside of Dublin. I stopped by based on some previous reviews of other Yelpers and was not disappointed. I went on a Sunday evening and ate alone since I was in town for business. I didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat me pretty quickly and get me taken care of. I ordered a nice seafood pasta dish and a glass of whiskey. The pasta was wonderfully tender and fresh. The seafood was cooked perfectly and complimented the dish well. The atmosphere was curious because the restaurant is tucked inside an overpass meaning you can hear the traffic lightly rumble above. It wasn't bothersome at all, but charming, I'm here for it. This is why the interior has the curved ceiling. I'll definitely be coming back on my next trip!

Yelp
Upscale Italian spot with fresh pasta made daily. Unique flavors and dishes, and a rotating menu. Cozy and romantic place, with kind and accommodating staff. Love the bread, vinegar and oil they give you as well.

Yelp
Don't get the Osso Bucco, mine was almost all fat. It wasn't the shank, just as little meat next to the bone. The pizza was excellent and our waiter was great. My wife had the seafood pasta and it was good though the octopus was chewy. Id go back for the pizza.
google avatar

Caroline H.

Yelp
Fantastic wine and main meals. The octopus appetizer was fantastic! So lush. The cob salad was nice with fresh, light salad dressing too. The pasta and seafood dish was good too. I lasagna was very good with a good sauce. Pino Gregorio was light and good too.

Yelp
Went here for a work dinner and it was fabulous. Great reds along w a fab charcuterie, meatballs and burrata. I had the fish which was grand. Some at the table selected pizzas, also very good. Wonderful service and the restaurant is very unique and beautiful, tastefully updated

Yelp
We had just arrived in Dublin for a week long trip and were all starving. My guy found a great looking Italian place walking distance from our house, so we got excited to give it a try! Upon arriving there, they said they don't accept any parties over 4 (we were 5). A bit annoyed and starving, we turned away and found Osteria Lucio - and BOY were we glad we did. They were fully booked with reservations, but because we had arrived a bit early, were glad to seat us as long as we promised to be done in 90 minutes. Easy! They immediately brought menus and waters, and we opted for a variety of pizzas, a side of their broccoli and green beans, and my mom selected a two course menu including fish - and an amazing tiramisu. They were very attentive and kind - the food was all excellent! It took quite a while to flag them down for the check - we were trying to be out well before the 90 minutes they had asked, but it took so long to get the check that we probably took that amount of time from arrival to departure. Overall - a wonderful experience. Highly recommend making reservations to come here!

Yelp
Probably the best meal we had in all of Ireland (although there surely is much left to still be explored). Met up with a friend for post-work pints and he recommended Osteria Lucio for dinner since it was a quick walk. We phoned ahead and had no problem getting a reservation on short notice on a Friday night (though it was late). The location is very cool - the restaurant is built into the railway bridge, giving it a very cozy feel with its curved ceiling. The train can be heard rumbling overhead, but not overly so. Our server was very friendly and funny with a quick wit, and there was a table of friends howling with laughter next to us (in a fun way) as well as several smaller groups and couples having dinner. The wine list is quite good - I had a fine Nebbiolo. I don't believe there were any beers available. The portions are large! We ordered a burrata to start, which was a generous fist-sized portion. It was very good. I had the rosemary and squash risotto, which was delicious but too much for me to eat (I wasn't very hungry to begin with). We had the chocolate mousse for dessert, which was very good except I wasn't such a fan of the candied fruit at the bottom. Delicious all around though, and would absolutely recommend on a trip to Dublin - it's a bit out of the way of the more touristy areas, which is certainly a part of its charm.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Nice atmosphere. Good location. Great menu. Staff could've been a bit friendlier

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Absolutely the worst place I have been to in Dublin, possible also ever in my life. This review is for the service. My friend and I were looking for a place to have dinner and sit down and have a nice time together. We came across this place based on the raving reviews and went to try it. We walked in, about half an hour before closing time. Hooray, they had spots open and we got a table. My friend was the one who was hungry since she got out of a 5 hour flight. She ordered 2 sides from the menu. I just wanted to stick with water as I was full from earlier in the day. Our waiter came to take our order. She ordered and when asked what I wanted, I said nothing just water. He looked at me shocked, and just stared and said in a snooty tone, that's all? And I said yes. Than he came back 30 seconds later and said " sorry you need to order a main dish in order to eat here." Okay, fine my friend can do that, no problem. Oh noooo that wasn't it at all. He's like: "No, both of you need to order a main dish." And proceeded to shove the menu in my face. Then he has the audacity to say that they sent people away as there was not a lot of availability in the restaurant. Are you kidding me?! It was half an hour before closing and we got seated right away. Oh, he also said that "we waiters need to get paid and we can't do that if you don't order 2 dishes". Absolute bullshit. We even asked if we can order 1 main and share.. even said we'd get dessert...nothing. Super rigid, stone cold and completely unprofessional to say the least. I've shared a meal plenty of times with my husband before. We had no problem. He proceeds to say nope, you need to order 2 mains or leave. Oh yes, he gave us an ultimatum. He didn't want to deal with our table so that was his way of getting rid of us. So despicable. So we left. There's no way we are paying for a meal while being treated so poorly by this poor excuse of a waiter. No thank you. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of places in the area with MUCH better service where you will not be treated like a pile of garbage. I do not recommend 100%.

Yelp
In the never ending search for a tasty Dublin pizza delivery option, we had pizza delivered from here a few weeks ago. Given our level of hunger we went with two pies: the Apiz and Italia. While there were a few good qualities, the overall meal was just okay. The crust was a bit chewy and both pizzas could have used a more flavourful sauce. Our search continues...
google avatar

Sean G.

Yelp
We ate here a year ago under its former guise "pizza e porchetta". Not allot has changed the menu is similar and the decor the same. What has changed however is the service and the food which have upped their game. The food was a touch above last time. My wild boar pasta was so good and the sauce reduced to a treacle like state. My only complaint it didn't come in a larger vessel to sate my appetite. My starter of poached egg was perfect but was second fiddle to my main. The desert of tiramisu was as light as a cloud and the coffee was excellent. On a final note the wine list is limited but their selections are well priced. Oh and service was faultless from start to finish. I will be back.

Yelp
An Italian in Dublin where meticulous care has been taken into all ingredients served on the plate. Invented at a restaurant table at our one Michelin star restaurant in town, star chefs Ross Lewis (yes Chapter 1) and mr Lucio (Italian chef, Michelin star owner as well) decided to do something tasty and interesting together. Result: Osteria Lucio. Went here fro pre-theatre menu as we were going for a 7:30 ballet (Bord Gais just around the corner). Like most pre-theatre menus, this was also great value for money with 22:50 Euro per person. Our company of three all chose three different courses, starting off with meatballs (delicious), broccoli with goat cheese (presented as if we were at a Michelin restaurant), and bruschetta (large one, filling, nice mozzarella). We shared and were in good mood after starting on our red Italian bottle. For main we had chicken in creamy polenta, fresh pasta with mushroom, and pizza, respectively. Everything was fantastic and it was nice that the pasta came with a large bowl of parmesan, and for the pizza one of the waiters came out with a spicy olive oil to match the dish. For the ambience: It was perfect. Casual, good volume (not too quiet, not too noisy), comfortable lighting. Staff was friendly and laid back - I had about a million questions about the restaurant itself and the menu, and our waitress patiently answered all of them. Next time I come I will try the salmon which was highly recommended by our waitress. Looking forward to it.

Yelp
Went here last night for a girlie chat. I arrived late and the girls had ordered. I had to go up to ask for a menu, then had to go back up to order it as they didn't come near me. 4 people asked us how our food was. Kinda annoying after the first two but no attention to loads was kinda out of sync. Pizza was nice but at 18 quid, it was just too expensive for what it was. A glass of wine at 8€ too was pushing the bank o a Tuesday. They do a 2 course plus coffee for 2 people for 40 which is good.

Yelp
Just wow!!! Ate here just over a year ago when the tunnel restaurant was still pizza e porchetta. Now Ross Lewis from Chapter one is here and I do believe the mark has been raised (albeit from a pretty high threshold to begin with!) The staff are still so nice and friendly. We had a lovely seat that was perfectly situated to feel the vibrations from the trains passing nearby. To the food. I ordered poached salmon for starters followed by the prosciutto and buffalo pizza which I asked to be a white pizza. They had no problem with that order. The salmon is served with romanesco, pesto, horseradish emulsion and orange. It's served cold and all the flavours / textures really complimented each other. The pizza base was perfect. Light and crispy and the toppings were plentiful. The mozzarella was well melted, the prosciutto was delicious as was the Parmesan. The rocket was as peppery as it should be. I tried it with a bit of their chilli oil which had a serious kick. A little slice of pizza heaven!!! For dessert I had the lightest Tiramisu I have ever tried with an Americano. Delicious. Enjoyed it all immensely and will definitely be back again :)

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere, solid wine menu and good food. Don't expect a true Neapolitan pizza though, while pastas are quite nice. Before I forget, make sure you get the fantastic buratta!

Yelp
Fantastico! This is the restaurant I have been looking for! Hidden under a bridge, this place serves high end Italian, that even my Italian friends were impressed with. The decor is fancy, the service was great and the food was easily 5 stars. They have a thorough cocktail menu and also offer a prix fix option that is like 8 courses. This place needs to be in more lists and deserves some real yelper attention!
google avatar

Byron D.

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderfulnderful meal served by a native Italian speaker. Our group was extremely pleased with our fabulously prepared Italian influenced entrees and deserts. The care and consideration shown by our hosts was very appreciated.
google avatar

Cristin L.

Yelp
A relatively new place, I'd no sooner noticed it on Yelp, when someone suggested Osteria Lucio for pre-theatre dinner. What a great choice it was too. Very upmarket and with impeccably turned out staff, I was immediately impressed by the place. Our waiter was particularly lovely and made my visit better, definitely. Kinda stuck for time we went straight for mains... and a bottle of wine. The wine, I cannot remember which we ordered (probably house white), was grand. My main course impressed me, green veg risotto. Lots of yummy, crunchy green veg. And perfectly cooked risotto that wasn't too heavy. It was excellent. I definitely want to come back here for a second, more leisurely visit.

Yelp
Incredible food and fun, friendly waiter service in a funky, intimate underground room. Getting in was very annoying (tried 1x with 1 person, 2x with 2 people, finally got in with a week in advance res). Plan ahead and enjoy!!

Yelp
Loved this little Italian restaurant in Dublin. Really good service and food! Would go back if we ever get to Dublin again!

Yelp
Pros: Impressive Italian, homemade pastes are great, staffs are nice and attentive. Cons: A little bit pricy
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Hmmm - OK, that's it. Was expecting something amazing but the food was grand, the staff a bit pushy and the premises a bit claustrophobic (dining area is under a train bridge).
google avatar

Luca S.

Yelp
Well, as an Italian I was positively surprised by the quality of the ingredients and by the friendly staff. I had as antipasto Arancini siciliani, filled with risotto and mozzarella. In my plate however there were only 3 of them: I would suggest anyway to increase the dish size by a little, considering the price. Then I chose pizza alla Parmigiana, that is, with aubergines, tomato sauce, Buffalo mozzarella and Parmigiano reggiano. The base was Napoletana-style,great quality overall. We then ordered a tiramisù, which was pretty good. I finally had an espresso which was by contrast pretty bad.

Yelp
In the same setting as Pizza E Porchetta, Osteria Lucio is a beautiful place. Just under the railway bridge at Grand Canal Dock, they have some seating outside, high stools at the front inside near the window, and a whole host of larger tables underneath the giant exposed brick tunnel. Lovely mood lighting, crisp white linens & sparkling delph complete the ultra-classy vibe. The menu is very similar to Pizza E Porchetta - I'm told it will change gradually - but for now they're keeping it very similar. We had a charcuterie board to begin with and arancini balls. The charcuterie was nice though not amazing. The arancini balls were moreish and delicious. I then had the Mezzo Mezzo which they say is half calzone, half pizza. I would say it's a calzone - there was only a tiny bit that wasn't folded over, so it's very doughy. I was sorry I went for it in the end as I think the thin based pizzas are so much nicer here, but it's really down to personal preference. The star of the show, food-wise for me was the Tiramisu. It was probably the best Tiramisu I've ever had honestly. It was creamy, crunchy, fresh decadence, but still didn't leave me feeling stodgy or overly full. I would eat it every day of my life if I could! My issue with the place really was the service. It was a little hit and miss. The staff weren't overly friendly and were maybe a little too alouf for my liking. I didn't feel the love and felt like a pest whenever I asked for anything. I like to frequent places that have an air of casual friendliness about them, or at least if they're not that, to be absolutely on the ball and display absolutely impeccable customer service. I never felt massively welcome here and always felt like I was chasing or putting the staff out. The food was lovely though and the setting supreme. Maybe the staff were on an off-night - I will be back again to see.
google avatar

Susan O.

Yelp
First of all, they weren't even open but because YELP had them listed as open, the manager, Bobby, let us in graciously and began to provide just incredible service. The food was fabulous and the small, but thoughtful wine list was wonderful. We were shocked that there were not lines out the door to get in. We were there early in a Sunday, however, so maybe the dinner crowd arrives later. Truly lovely place. Would recommend for sure!! Pizza oven, romantic tables, chic decor, vegetarian options
google avatar

Yelp
There is only reason why I didn't give this five stars and that is that I have only been here once but my word, what a fantastic place. As soon as I have tried at least two more items on the menu I'm sure that will raise to five. This is the old Pizza y Porchetta in The Malting Tower on Grand Canal Dock. Great spot also for all the history buffs as this was one of the buildings in De Valera's Bolands Mills garrison during the 1916 rising. It has been taken over by Ross Lewis, of Chapter One fame but it is far from the high society dining experience you will find there. In fact, I think he might have been done intentionally as a way of serving the highest standard of food to people who are put off by the perceived stuffiness of places likes Chapter One. The menu has changed somewhat since the name change and face lift but it is still a modern Italian restaurant with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. I visited on a Sunday and while not full by any means there was a still a nice buzz in the air which was helped by very helpful and professional waiting staff. We shared the wood fired olives which were divine (the orange is a lovely touch) and I had Grilled Sprouting Broccoli with Goats cheese and then the Smoked Speck and Chili pizza. My mate had the Bruschetta to start and the Ricotta Gnocchi for main. My mate couldn't speak highly enough about all his dishes and I'm pretty sure that if that wasn't already the best pizza in Dublin, it won't be long before this crowd close the gap and finally knock Paulie's or Base off the top. I'm also aware that that is a huge statement but please go try for yourself and as the place is only open a few months and I highly recommend you go to try prove me right/wrong before the whole town finds out about this beautiful place.

Yelp
This restaurant made us welcome as soon as we stepped in. The atmosphere was warm and the staff's friendliness made the delicious meal ever better. After waiting maybe 10 mins for our order, My dinner companion realised they had read the menu wrong, and the staff insisted on replacing it with a vegetarian option for her. The whole place has a great style and soundtrack. They were funny, courteous, polite and they make an amazing pizza. I will be back
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not going to lie, I arrived here with high expectations- when the website reads like a who's who of Dublin's best restaurants it's hard not to get a little caught up in the hype! And if a restaurant is to focus so much on the past achievements of its team it sets the bar high. I was not disappointed - food was true to the Italian basis of simple, but good. Focaccia and olives to start where so fresh and tasty. Pasta and a pizza main where simple, good quality ingredients very well executed. Dessert, a tiramisu and chocolate mousse where sublime! The staff where friendly and attentive. A few missteps corrected with speed and pace could make it perfect! Was I disappointed? Absolutely not, great value and I'd happily return!

Jamie N.

Yelp
I was winding up my stay in Dublin and wandered into this place on a whim while walking around. They only had open seats at the bar, which was fine as I was by myself and what I generally prefer. The pizza looked pretty decent, but I decided to get the Burrata and the Tagliatelle. They were both amazing, and the bartender paired them with a fantastic wine. It was one of the more pricey meals I had while there, but very much worth it.

Pamela B.

Yelp
What a great little find tucked under the rail pass . So quaint and comfortable . The food is so awesome . You can have a pizza or fine dining . Whatever you chose . Wine selection is good and service as well .
google avatar

Maggie H.

Yelp
The atmosphere and set up here is beautiful and intimate. The food is phenomenal! We started out with the rice balls & the roasted olives. The rice balls were delicious- I felt like I was back home in Brooklyn! The roasted olives were also very good. Something very different and the flavors were all on point. Next we shared the Pizza Alla Norma. The crust was perfection. We also shared the Wild Boar Ragu- I have not had pasta of this quality yet in Dublin. It was so good. Finally, we finished with the tiramisu. The previous reviews do not lie- out of this world. I have officially found my go to Italian restaurant in Dublin and I am very excited about it!

Yelp
located under the railway bridge in Grand Canal, Osteria Lucio is almost an italian pizza place. Pizza is not bad but it's way too expensive and me being an Italian means I don't really think it's worth.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
I missed a generation at this place. The last time I was here it was the Bridge Bar and Grill which, alas, disappeared during the recession. Consequently, we had no idea what to expect. The decor is very different, much updated and brighter than the earlier incarnation. We arrived early for our 5.30 reservation to discover that they offer a very reasonable pre-theatre 3 course menu at €45 for two. In fairness, the third 'course' was tea or coffee but, still. Also, the selection on the special menu was more than adequate with enough alternatives to satisfy us fussy folk. While waiting to order we had two Italian Margaritas which were excellent. I had a really good salami pizza and my companion opted for a vegetarian tagliatelle which she declared to be equally good. She also couldn't resist the superb tiramisu (not included in the offer it has to be said) of which much has already been written. Suffice it to say, the plate returned to the kitchen in a pristine state, A nice bottle of Pinot Grigio was so good, we treated ourselves to a bonus glass when the bottle expired. All in all, a very good experience. We will be back.

Yelp
Really neat place! It used to be a bridge that has since been turned into a restaurant. The Apis pizza with spicy salami, chilli, honey (yes!), tomato & basil was really good. Spicy and sweet, with a fresh tomato taste. We also had the Prosciutto & Buffalo with Rocket pizza. Would rank this up there as one of the better pizzas in Dublin!

Theo C.

Yelp
Over 4 days in Dublin, this was the best meal we had. The pre theatre 3 course dinner was very reasonable and excellent all around. The swordfish and the tiramisu were the highlights. Cool, relaxed atmosphere in a converted train tunnel. Highly recommended if you're going to Bord Gais Energy Theatre which is only a 5-10 minute walk.

Yelp
Our family of four (parents, teenager, and grandma) had dinner here last night on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. It was truly a find - a delicious meal. Cocktails are a specialty and ours were good, as was the broccolini starter. Frito misto was a bit of a let down compared to some we've had in Italy and the states, but the deliciously charred, thin crust pizzas were first rate. Salumi plate and pasta were also great. Our daughter had a light and airy ricotta cheesecake with rhubarb and the adults had decaf affogatos with great vanilla gelato. Service from our Canadian waitress was friendly and attentive, even in a very busy dining room with many after-work type groups.

Yelp
Delicious. Really cute restaurant. Food excellent. Wait staff very nice. I highly recommend. Call ahead for a reservation.

Yelp
I tried (some of!) the mackerel, pizza diavolo, lamb ragout and cod. The lamb pasta and both fish plates were really good, maybe even better than that. It's a touch pricey. With Paulie's just five minutes away, I'd say stroll there for your pizza; it's cheaper and just as good. I suppose that's a backhanded compliment to the pizzaiolo at Lucio! The service is a touch slow, yet abrupt, which I guess means they are understaffed / overworked. Confession: I've a soft spot for the venue, since back when the fantastic Mrs Fox used to run it as the Bridge Bar and Grill! I turned against it during the Pizze e Porchetta era. The silver-haired maitre d' turned me away at 9.45pm one evening, as his staff had "had a busy day". I came back a week later and the short rib had been boiled to death. Thankfully, Lucio is a lot better than that. Did I mention how good the lamb ragout was? I'll be back.

Yelp
I loved this restaurant. Have only been here twice, but the care and thought that has been put into the menu shines through on the plate. The staff member who served us the second time I was there was great, really good with recommendations. Highlights included the beetroot salad, the pizzas and quite possibly the best panna cotta I have ever eaten- and I've eaten a lot of them in my time!! Really hope that this place continues to thrive, as the building it's in has had a few reincarnations as a restaurant.
