Oxalis offers a creative, seasonal menu in a cozy, atrium setting next to Prospect Park, where attentive service pairs beautifully with delicious, produce-driven dishes.
"Anytime we hear the word “courtyard” in NYC, we assume life there feels like a romantic, 35mm film. This is especially true in the case of Oxalis’ courtyard. To get to their outdoor area, walk past the front entrance of this Prospect Heights tasting menu spot and turn onto a little alley off of Lincoln Place. They’re serving an a la carte menu of dishes that make use of seasonal produce, like little gem salad with snap peas, and monkfish and morels in an emulsified butter sauce. The courtyard behind Oxalis is open from 5pm to 10pm, Thursday to Sunday." - hannah albertine
"Sherry isn’t just the stuff you keep around in case you randomly decide to make french onion soup. It’s also great to drink, especially the dry kinds, a bunch of which you’ll find at Oxalis’ pop-up sherry bar in Prospect Heights. If you go on a weekend, then you’ll also be able to pick up fresh produce, baked goods, and housemade vinegars from their winter market." - matt tervooren
"At Oxalis, with its slightly more fine dining vibe, the two teams are more likely to split the menu 50/50 for a true fusion of styles, like at a recent collab with D.C.’s Reverie that featured a scallop tart with sake lees and sourdough ice cream with beer and banana caramel." - Jaya Saxena
"Daniel alum Nico Russell’s Prospect Heights restaurant Oxalis keeps its one star, despite announcing its forthcoming closure. A tasting menu starts at $150, while the prix fixe at the bar is $75." - Eater Staff
"Oxalis retained its one-star rating despite announcing plans to close by the end of 2023. The restaurant plans to relocate next year." - Luke Fortney
