The Best New Restaurants In Austin: The Austin Hit List - Austin - The Infatuation

"Since starting as a food truck in 2015, Paperboy has reigned over Austin’s brunch scene. So good luck getting a last-minute weekend reservation at the new South Lamar location, where tables are already booking out weeks in advance. The menu is identical to the East Side counterpart, as are the vibes—bright and boisterous. Even on a Wednesday morning, the place is packed, with tables covered in lattes, cinnamon toast, and BECs. We can confirm that the pancake is still delicious and so thick you might confuse it for cornbread. The mushroom grits with leek chili crisp are pretty good too. Come here before Paperboy’s waiting list rivals the Nintendo Switch." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs, matthew jacobs, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs, matthew jacobs, nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary

Austin’s New Restaurant & Bar Openings - Austin - The Infatuation

"Nobody speaks brunch quite like Paperboy, and now the buzzy morning/afternoon restaurant has a second location, this time on South Lamar. Expect to find the same classic menu of BECs, avocado tostadas, pancakes, and more. If this location is anything like the original, you’ll want to make a reservation soon if you plan on visiting for a weekend brunch before summer’s over." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs

Google
Super cool place for breakfast. Has a modern diner vibe. You can eat inside or outside in a cool, covered patio space. Nice selection of food items with a bit of a twist. I had the famous pancake and can highly recommend it. The four of us all had delicious food and the service was attentive but not too much so. I would go back again for sure.

MAKE A RESERVATION BEFORE COMING!! I’ve been turned away because I tried walking in before so do make a reservation in advance on Open Table (it’s free! You can cancel later) Since then we’ve been coming here every weekend. Food is pricey but worth it imo. The pancakes, steak & eggs, and matcha latte are divine. Texas Hash and Huevos Rancheros Grits were meh for me. I only take 1 star off because I was told they were always fully booked when I saw open seats at the bar. Otherwise this place would get 5 stars. Need to try their desserts next time.

Absolutely amazing experience at the newest Paperboy location! Garage Parking was easy to find and free, just a short walk away to the entrance. There are both indoor & outdoor seating options. The host was very friendly and sat us down quickly. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing! The lox shareable plate is A MUST! So many wonderful flavors blending together for the perfect bite. The steak & eggs plate was portioned very well and cooked to perfection. The fries were crispy & freshly made. The chicken & waffles plate was delicious and the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The blueberry pancake was the perfect dessert for us! One is enough for two of us as they are thick! The vibes were the perfect environment for brunch. We will definitely be back!

So happy to try the new Paperboy location on South Lamar. The outdoor seating had a nice vibe to it. The music was a little loud, but they willing turned it down. Our waiter, Daniel, went out of his way to ensure our visit was as pleasant as possible. The prices are a little steep, but I must say, the food was excellent. Substitutions were welcomed. Generous slabs of crispy bacon made me happy. Their signature thick, buttered toast was a meal by itself. My partner praised the migas. A small but nice side benefit was the bike racks close to the entrance.

Google
Great spot for a morning breakfast fix. The pancake was cake-like with a perfect dab of brown better smack in the middle which was absolutely delicious when slathered with syrup. My other party had the avocado toast with a vinegar based cabbage on top. The latte was just ok, the oat milk nice and cold. I’d come back for the pancakes. There’s parking below with some account set up and QR scanning which was a pain but overall still back for the pancakes.

Google
A decent brunch restaurant. The Frozen Creamsicle and the Pop Tart were incredible, but definitely divisive with my party. The Texas hash was okay too. The other diners I was with didn’t enjoy the seasoning on the potato wedges or the Smashburger more generally but I thought they were okay. I wouldn’t say the Biscuit Basket is particularly worth it just based on the size of them. All in All, whilst I really liked it, I’m not sure it’s the best value for money.

Google
Incredible breakfast! First time here and glad we tried it. We both had the Lox. Outstanding. The combo was perfect- just enough of everything. Not a traditional Lox- it had a smear that was fantastic along with fresh dill, roasted tomatoes and pieces of grilled bread. I am not sure what else was in it but it was, as I stated, outstanding. The wait was not bad and plenty of parking- there is some free outside and then a garage they validate the first hour.

Google
Similar experience just like paperboy in the original location, friendly staff, excellent service and best of all, really really good food. We are talking about pastries, and we're talking about all the breakfast needs and we're talking really strong coffee for you to start off the day. It was def not busy on a weekday morning and lots of tables and booths. Everything was great in terms of operations and the staff having it all together, and the only minor hindrance was the specifically with the parking garage. Brand spanking new building so you want to park on the right hand side next to paperboy cuz that lot is free, while the other lot on the left hand side is 1-hour free parking and then after that you're going to have to pay but the metropolis app and everything makes it pretty seamless. Overall a great experience I would definitely go back and get all the pastries, Let's get this bread

Yelp
Worth every single penny We loved it - amazing breakfast / brunch spot We tried the fried chicken and biscuit - all delicious - biscuit, chicken, gravy - perfect combination We also tried the pancake full breakfast - loved the pancake - definitely a different fluffy cornbread like but absolutely delicious! Also added blueberries to the pancake which was so good!! We tried the cheddar hashbrown and highly recommend that too!! I tried the hibiscus matcha lemonade and it was so refreshing Service was great - food came out quickly and patio is super cute! We bought our dog with us on the patio!

Yelp
So glad we stopped here to fuel up before ACL fest. Couldn't tell if it was busy due to the festival weekend or if it's just a popular local spot but we enjoyed our meal nonetheless. The space inside is really cute but we opted to dine on the patio as it was first available. *Sweet potato brisket hash: Wholesome and comforting! I enjoyed the perfectly jammy poached egg. We asked for a side of their house made red hot sauce and it paired well. *Fried Chicken & Biscuit: so good! The sage gravy was the star of the show and I enjoyed the hot honey drizzle to keep things juicy. The biscuit was perfectly fluffy while the chicken had a great crunch without being dry. *Dessert: we were served complimentary Rice Krispies! I won't argue with that. Price point was reasonable for the quality of food. The drinks looked good too but we grabbed coffee at a shop nearby. It did take a while for our food to come out but our server was friendly and it was a busy morning. I'll be back next time I'm in Austin.

Yelp
Always tell you the truth Always straight facts Gave you my word Baby no lie Here as a transplant, we say nothing but the truth Nothing but the truth Nothing but the mthr f ng truth Ja rule The truth: service was BEYOND amazing (which I'm not used to in this town at this sort of establishment). Went on a Saturday morning @ 9am and it was half full (pretty busy for an early Saturday morning). We ordered and the food arrived too fast. Less than 15 min.... Maybe less than 10? Red flag! Precooked? For how long? When? Whyyyyyyyy! Not great. Food was not hot (obvs) tasted okay. Wouldn't say it's cheap where it would warrant such prep of having everything already cooked. Would go back and maybe try other things. It's a cute ambience but would I recommend to an out of towner visiting probably not. Chicken and biscuits: chicken was dry, gravy was like bath water temp wished it was hotter. The top had that solidified film when gravy cools down. Pop tart: cold. I prefer pop tarts a little warm with a gooey center esp if it's made in house. Huevos rancheros grits: why grits? Doesn't really add to the dish idk otherwise it tasted okay ... but let's end on a high. Service was so so so so great!!

Yelp
I could almost never get a table at their East Side location, but this South location is so much easier. I even got a last-minute reservation (it was for a Monday morning though). I ordered the fried chicken and biscuit, and it was excellent: perfectly crispy, juicy, with just the right balance of sweetness and spice. The biscuit was spot on as well. Service was attentive and friendly, and they even offer free 1-hour parking validation.

Yelp
Finally got to try paperboy, on a Monday and they were still super busy lol. I know why though, the food was excellent. I had the Texas hash and my husband got the bec sandwich, would recommend both. Service was quick and friendly, will definitely be back! Make a reservation, it's impossible without one.

Yelp
Food: the food was absolutely delicious! My grits bowl had so much flavor, and his burger was super delicious as well! The pancake was huge and had the texture of a cake! Service: everyone was super sweet, and our server was very attentive and make sure we had everything we needed! Ambiance: we both LOVED the vibes, we chose to sit inside only because we don't like eating when it's hot outside, but both inside and outside were beautiful. A perfect date spot or a quick brunch location! Extras: considering everything we ordered (food&drink) our total was $65 and to me in Austin I feel that's not awful. Could have been better but for the service and how good the food was I did not mind at all!

Yelp
Finally made it to this new location and so glad there's one south! Parking is available in the garage and they validate your first hour! We started with the hibiscus mint iced tea (unsweetened is the only way it comes) which was deliciously refreshing. Ordered the ham & Gruyère empanada - you literally can't go wrong with their pastries here. So good! For our entrees we ordered the chicken and biscuits - amazing. Everything perfectly flavor balanced and delicious on the plate. Migas with pork carnitas which was definitely a standard take and very tasty. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
First visit to Paperboy South, which is located on S. Lamar in Bouldin Creek. I was lured in by their 4.8/5.0 Yelp Rating. Let me just say, the Yelp ratings are justified. Paperboy has a very cool vide - indoor & outdoor seating, modern and hip music being piped through the restaurant with an eclectic clientele. Customers ranged from fitness folks like myself to women carrying Chanel & YSL bags. I really wanted to try to the sweets (blueberry lemon roll, strawberry & pecan pop tart, gruyère empanada or carrot cake). Unfortunately, I just got diagnosed with high cholesterol, so sweets are not my friend. Instead I had egg whites and cheesy grits. Ok the cheese was not good, for the most part the other items were pretty healthy. The egg whites were seasoned well and fluffy. The grits had a thin layer of cheese, however, the grits were real star of the show. They were not your average yellow grits. The grits were off-white and more grainy. It reminded me a bit of ancient grains. I can say these grits were likely best grits I have every eaten. Logistics: My order was taken at the outside "to go" window and I waited outside for the order to be fulfilled. It was about a 20 minute wait, which I did not consider unusual for a holiday weekend. Paperboy uses a nearby garage that charges $4.99 for the first hour. However, Paperboy validates your parking for the first hour...so eat fast. smile. Great first experience...definitely returning.

Yelp
Arrived with no reservation for Sunday brunch and was told an hour wait (not really that long). We went across the street and enjoyed drinks at Postino for the time. We continued with libations I had a delicious Bloody Mary and my gf had an Espresso Martini. For starters we shared the Avocado Tostada. We opted for toast instead of the tortilla. The avocado spread arrived on top of toasted ciabatta. Delightful. I ordered the Texas Hash and she had the Kale salad. The hash was not how I envisioned it. Chunks of tender pork with sweet potatoes and a poached egg. Incredible but it had a little too much onions for my taste. The hale salad was great and just as good the next day (leftover). Service was great and the food worth the wait! Btw after this meal I was not hungry for the rest of the day.

Yelp
Everything I had at Paperboy South was delicious. The pancake with blueberries was decadent, loved the Texas hash (roasted pork, sweet potato, onion, kale, poached egg, pecan mole), the guava pop tart was amazing, I also got the cheddar hashbrown which was nicely crispy. I got the morning zing to drink. I sat at the bar and my server was very friendly. The restaurant is along S. Lamar and has both an indoor and outdoor deck area. They inKind but of course I forgot to use it SMH at me.

Yelp
While this was my first time at the south location, I am a long time fan of Paperboy. It is just a nice, sit down spot for some great food! This location had some amazing music playing today- I hope this is a constant. Whomever was DJ needs a raise. I do like this location a bit more than the other mainly because of the floor plan. It's a little less cramped and I enjoyed the large booths through the middle of the restaurant. We were here for my husband's birthday brunch and we were seated with a very sweet "Happy Birthday From Paperboy" card at our table. I thought that was so thoughtful and really sets Paperboy apart from other local spots. On top the that, we also received a free cinnamon toast which was a planned purchase for us so that was such a lovely surprise. My absolute favorite go-to is the b.e.c. A bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich- a classic but the jam on there paired with the pimento steals the show! They are the perfect combo, turning a simple breakfast dish into an explosion of flavor! I love to pair my sandwich with an iced vanilla late, also a classic. But we did order the Love Potion and a hot green tea with honey. The love potion is very bitter but tasty and green tea was standard, but delicious. Unfortunately, they ran out of guava pop tarts before we got there which was a bummer but also totally expected because they're delicious. Definitely show up earlier in the day for a larger, fresher selection of pastries. Parking is located behind the building and paired with another business and apartment parking. There's easy to read signs everywhere so it's not too confusing. Paperboy also validates which is so great cause how often do you find free parking in Austin these days.

Yelp
The only reason I'm giving this review a 4 is because of the hostesses and the time it takes to receive food. Otherwise the wait staff and the food is excellent. I have been to the south location of paperboy a couple times now and the reoccurring theme I am running into is a lack of awareness/urgency with the hosts. I waited in line 8 minutes to check into my brunch reservation even though there were 3 hostesses at the stand helping 1 person. I had to speak up in order to get the line moving. If someone has a reservation, the table should be ready, not make them wait even longer for a table they booked. The food is fantastic. I loved the Migas with pork! It will be my new go to order. I also am obsessed with their blueberry pancake and cheddar hash brown. My friend said her steak and eggs was the best she's ever had. My other friend loved her sweet potato hash. And burger was good but super greasy and wet. I would pass next time and instead get the BEC. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more items, hopefully with a speedier seating process and food serving process now that the staff should no longer be new. **also the carrot/ginger juice drink is phenomenal!!! Pros: food, flavor, menu items, inside vibes, waitress/waiters Cons: wait time, hostess, cook time

Yelp
While hanging out in Austin for the weekend we de used to add this gem to our culinary adventure. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted and sat. It was a bit busy as it was a Saturday morning for brunch. The staff were very friendly and explained the menu in detail to us. We both had the classic breakfast two eggs, maple sausage , buttered toast , and wedges . The eggs were cooked perfectly and were already seasoned to perfection. The sausage was very good but lacked the maple taste I was hoping for but still great., now this toast (OMG) . I never rave about toast as it's usually an after thought. But this bread with the butter and preserves were excellent and not too Thick, the potato wedges were seasoned and crispy outside with soft inside. I had a coffee and was very pleased that is was a true coffee ( bold). I would definitely come back and recommend a visit.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance of this new spot they have! Their indoor and outdoor sections are much more spacious than the East location. We started with the cinnamon toast and it was phenomenal. Definitely order that. The brisket had was cooked very well and I liked the touch of mole on the side of the plate. Needless to say, I cleared my plate. The cheddar has brown was really good but a bit pricey for $7. My friend got an iced matcha with salted caramel syrup and it was actually really good, I'd come back and get it in the fall. Service was nice but a tad slow to get out good out. There was 30 min between our appetizer and entrees. For context we were there for lunch around 2pm on a Friday and it was semi busy. They only validate an hour for parking. I still paid like $6 for the parking garage which was kind of a turn off.

Yelp
Paperboy is my favorite brunch restaurant in Austin, and I'm so excited that they opened up another location! We celebrated my bestie's birthday here recently, and they brought us a really sweet card and complimentary ricotta toast. Their rotating selection of toasts is my favorite-- including the avocado tostada and the various sweeter options. The staff is so lovely and helpful, and I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Prothit H.

Yelp
Paperboy is consistently one of my favorite brunch spots in Austin! I was thrilled to find out that they opened another location since it was so hard to get a reservation at the original location! It is located in a branch new apartment complex and there is validation available when you park inside the complex! We came with no reservation, and waited about 10 minutes before being seated at the bar! For drinks, we ordered the Bloody Mary and Guava Spritz! Both were amazing cocktails with so many good flavors going on! For mains we ordered the steak and eggs, which is always one of our favorites to order! We also got the mushroom grits which was brightened up so well with the pickled fennel! I love leeks and fennel so this dish was right up my alley! For the side we got the has brown which came with a slightly spicy sauce, which was sooo good!! If you are visiting Austin or just craving good brunch food, you must come here!!
google avatar

Ellie N.

Yelp
A paperboy location in the south. Woohoo. The quality is the same with the original location. The ricotta toast is to die for. $15 for 1 slice of toast is steep for sure, but the quality is up there. You can tell they put a lot of thought in each dish. I prefer this location because of their outdoor seating.

Yelp
I have been to Paperboy twice, once at their East location and once at South location. When I originally went, I will admit I wasn't super impressed with it. Likely because I felt it had been overhyped and I found the menu at that time to be underwhelming. We had gotten the migas, a peach and cinnamon roll, and ricotta toast and they were all meh. However, I was willing to give Paper Boy another try as I had some friends from out of town who wanted to try it. And thankfully this visit around it was much better. The difference between the South and East location besides their location, is their ambiance. I feel that Paper Boy South seems bigger because the ceilings are taller and I like their outdoor space a little bit better because the building eaves really protects you from the Austin hot sun and even at 12:00 PM when the high was 95, with fans and the shade provided by the building it was fairly comfortable on the patio more than the East location where by 10:00 AM some of the tables were in the sun on the patio. The indoor space for both were designed for smaller parties and I think the indoor space for East is slightly larger than South. Food wise, I got the mushroom grits which came with cheesy grits that were actually nice and smooth without being too gritty (pun intended) or too tough, marinated mushrooms, and a leek chili crisp which I was impressed by because I believe it does have Sichuan peppercorn in it as my lips were a little tingly after eating the dish! The portion size for this dish was large and I enjoyed that because I was able to split it into two meals. I also absolutely love LOVE their cheddar hash brown - as my friend says the hash brown is "stupid good". It's a perfectly crispy hash brown with perfect grated potato underneath that is cooked well with just the right amount of cheese without it being overly fatty. Drink wise everyone went with the emerald city (guava, lemonade, and matcha) and it got rave reviews all around. Service was also great. Daniel our server was great to our party of 8 and had a great sense of humor. Parking is easy, but with construction it is getting difficult. Parking is in the back of the building (follow the signs, the parking entrance is where Positano is) and you go to the right. I ended up parking on Gibson for free street parking because when I sent on Friday morning all the parking spots looked like it was taken by construction workers. But I didn't see any signs for paying for parking, so I am assuming parking is free or possibly validated as of now due to construction. My friends were able to find a spot in the back for them and didn't have to pay. If you're coming on the weekends, I would highly recommend grabbing reservations via OpenTable.

Yelp
I was so happy to hear that Paperboy opened up a 2nd location on South Lamar! Hopefully this will help manage overall demand decrease wait times across both the locations now. That being said, we arrived at 2PM for Sunday brunch today in order to avoid the brunch rush hour but there was still a 20 minute wait haha. It was my friend's first time so we ended up sharing everything so that we could try multiple dishes together. The Chicken & Biscuit is a MUST if you love a sweet, savory combination and I appreciated that the gravy wasn't too heavy or thick to complement the dish. We also ordered the Texas Hash because it sounded like a healthier option and ended up pairing well with the fried chicken. To end our meal on a sweet note, we tried the Paperboy Pancake, and if you love corn bread, you'll absolutely love this dish! Unlike the standard pancake consistency, the outside edges of this pancake was crispy, the inside was fluffy like corn bread, and the brown butter wasn't too heavy or overpowering. Even if the wait times might be longer than usual, it's always worth the wait every time! PARKING: As of 6/29/25, there is free parking behind the establishment in the parking garage connected to the building.

Yelp
What a trendy and delicious brunch spot. I had the paperboy pancake full breakfast and lil Remi. The pancake is a huge Japanese pancake with brown butter sea salt and maple syrup. It's the most decadent breakfast ever, and worth the splurge. I visited on a Monday morning, no wait. Attentive and friendly waitstaff even though I dined solo. Appreciate the hospitality, I'll be back.

Yelp
Pro-tip: Poptarts will sell out quickly, do yourselves a favor and secure one for your tastebuds. Oh and the hash browns. Must order. Fantastic experience! Service, quality of food and drink top notch, and ambiance fun with a twist of modern diner vibes. While I was intrigued by the guava matcha lemonade, I stuck with the guava lemonade and it was both refreshing and plenty satisfying. Using actual guava pulp, it wasn't overly sweet, although I didn't mind diluting it to extend my drinking experience. The hash was wonderful. Wish there were two eggs, instead of one, especially because poached doesn't account for the whole egg. Highly suggest the kitchen changes order to have two eggs (although the order of one is true to the menu description). Prices are certainly on the "city" higher end. I'd rate this as a brunch spot I look forward to returning to, a regular even!

Yelp
We came in on a Wednesday at noon and the host told us there was a 20 min wait for a table. Then they told us they didn't have room for us to wait inside but it was quite cold outside. We would yo asking for a menu and since it was just 2 of us, we just looked at the menu in front of the coffee area. When we got sat our lovely server Jen greeted us with a warm smile. She got us water and suggested some great meals on the menu. We were deciding between a couple things and she was so kind, she offered us a hashbrown on the house. The food was delicious!! Incredible cornbread pancake, the portion of the pork in the Texas hash was substantial, the hashbrown was unique and tasty. I would maybe recommend getting more eggs for the Texas hash but overall very yummy. Will definitely come back but I'd make sure to call to put in a reservation. The vibe inside is clean, well lit, has cute small 2 person booths.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Austin!!! The food I'm still dreaming about! Get the blueberry pastry!! Pancakes are super unique and the breakfast sandwich had me drooling! If I could transport it to Chicago I would! It was so memorable I even had to get the merch and diner mug.

Yelp
My belief in Paperboy might officially be dead... Despite opening a second location, you'll still find yourself in long wait times and a lack of service. You'll find the same menu as the East side, but since I've now been to Paperboy a few times, the excitement is no longer there. I'm always interested in finding something new, but with such a small menu, it's easy to run out of options. My partner & I split the Smashburger and the Migas. The Migas was good, but at $16, it's hard to justify the price. Unfortunately, the Smashburger and the fries were incredibly salty making it borderline inedible. For the hype and price, Paperboy just isn't hitting anymore.

Yelp
Got to visit the new Paperboy location when I was in town for ACL. Pro tip: have your uber drop you at PB South, have a killer lunch, then walk to Zilker. The service was so personable and made great suggestions when we were stuck on what to order. Kale salad is one of the best I've had in town (who knew a salad could be so memorable). The vibes are so great on the patio but inside is beautifully decorated. The ambiance really makes you feel like you're in a classic diner but with a fancy step up. Loved the open kitchen (like their east side location) and counter seats at the bar. Such a fun vibe.

Yelp
Y U M! I loved the East Side location and was stoked to try the new South Lamar location. I booked a reservation for the patio on a Sunday at 10:30. We arrived 10 minutes early and they were slammed. The patio had fans so it wasn't miserably hot. Our server was amazing and told us to order a shareable because the food could take a while and he was right. We got the ham and Gruyère empanada to hold us over and my goodness, I would love to crush one of those every morning. The flakiness was beautifully done and the filling was amazing. We got the pancake to share and let me tell you - they put the CAKE in pancake. It was so thick and fluffy. I have no idea what they put in that butter but my goodness, it makes it a million times better. You cannot go wrong with the cheese hashbrown. It is so crispy and the green onions on it tie it all together. The Texas Hash is more on the lunch side. It looks kinda small but is extremely filling. The Classic Breakfast was classic. Nothing more to really add, but the seasonal peach jam was tasty. Cannot wait to go again!

Yelp
Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Aesthetic 10/10 Loved how fast the food came! I would definitely recommend the chicken and biscuit!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. All of food was good and well priced for what you got. The hash was extra delicious. I wasn't able to try their cocktails but want to go back to try some of their breaks fast cocktails! Recommend going!

Yelp
I lOVE Paperboy and have dined at the East location several times. I was so happy when I found out that they opened a location around the corner from my house! Sadly for us, but awesome for the restaurant, it is still hard as heck to get a reservation. Failing to find a reservation online for a Sunday at 12:30, I decided to stop by and check the waitlist. We were quoted...wait for it...a 2 hour wait!!! We decided to give it at least an hour if we weren't close, we had decided that we were going to give up and leave. Lucky for us, we got our text after an hour! I figured most people would give up and remove their name from the waitlist. The only downside to their waitlist is that you can only see on Opentable that you are on it, but not where you are on the list. They have a large outdoor patio with several fans so it was nice. The cold brew martini was amazing and desperately needed after my hangover! The only negative about dining later in the day is that they were out of quite a few things, so that was a bummer. We were not deterred and instead, opted for the avocado tostado but subbed for toast and added salmon, fried egg over easy, pickled onions, and sliced jalapeños. It was amazing!! We also shared the mushroom grits which were interesting and really good and as always, the cheddar hashbrown was a winner. The hostess, Kayley was so sweet & patient. When you work at a high volume restaurant, it can get quite stressful and even though there was a constant line, she handled it well and kept cool! It can be a thankless job, so THANK YOU for maintaining your professionalism.

Yelp
This was a new location that just opened a few weeks ago, and they are doing fantastic so far. The staff was extremely friendly, it was easy to get a seat, and the food was outstanding. It was a little too hot to sit on their outdoor patio, but the inside was bright, well laid out, and had plenty of seating.

Yelp
Yummy and a very cute spot. I had the Texas hash. I'm a hash girl and it was different so I liked it. We had mixed reviews at the table. Chicken and biscuit is yummy. The lox platter is good and very refreshing and lite. The hash brown is ok. I would love to come back and try more. Our server Daniel was very friendly and helpful with suggestions.

Yelp
I am such a huge fan of Paperboy, and not just because the first brick & mortar location is a three-minute walk from my apartment. I am spoiled and lucky. However, I am often on this side of town, on Lamar, and thought it would be great to check out this second location. This location is just as popular as the east side! I strongly suggest reservations! I am glad we made them. Heck, even living down the street from the 11th street location, I still make reservations. Otherwise, you're probably looking at a medium to lengthy wait. No matter if you book ahead or decide to get on line, IT IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! The quality of the food and service is as perfect as the first location. Fresh and delicious ingredients for elevated comfort food. Lovely and airy decor. Lots of parking, yay. Do yourself a favor and check out this location. Seriously good stuff.

Yelp
I always thought that people might have been too obsess with this place but now I get why! If you are in a hurry, you will want to make reservations months in advance, but if not, I recommend putting yourself in the list, run some errands and coming back. The food was AMAZING, so far the best brunch I have had in Austin. All the pastries and anything with carbs are over the top, do not miss the pancakes! Service was fast and people were super friendly.

Yelp
The locally acclaimed Paperboy has now opened their South location right across from the Ramen Tatsuya and right in front of the nice new Bouldin! Paperboy has been an East Austin staple for many years now and the fact it continues to have a long wait time is both a peeve of mine as well as a testament to their food. There's a large parking garage available to patrons when you drive down the center of the property and the first hour is free. Paperboy offers a pickup option if you don't have enough time to eat there or want to take it to-go for lunch. Known for primarily their breakfast cuisine, I love their entire menu. I rarely go for breakfasts anymore, but they have a great burger and the kale salad is now a weekly staple for me as it is both delicious and nutritious. They have a decently sized outdoor patio and some fans to survive the summers, but I'd imagine this place will continue to blow up even further as the weather cools down in the Fall.

Yelp
This new location opened in June. It is fresh and new in every way. I ordered a Bloody Mary--they make the mix there and it was very good. L ordered eggs over ez and cheese grits. I went for Migas and cheesy hash browns. He commented that the eggs were perfectly cooked. My Migas dish was excellent and the cheesy hash browns were awesome. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. The environment was welcoming.

Yelp
Paper Boy is an absolute gem! The food was amazing -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our waitress, Quinn, was fantastic -- super attentive and friendly. She even surprised us with a complimentary appetizer since it was our first visit! The service and atmosphere made the whole experience feel special. Definitely a must-visit -- we'll be back soon!

Yelp
The place was so beautiful!! I felt like I was somewhere coastal! You can easily pass it, but once you know where it's at, the rest is a breeze. Parking is plenty behind the restaurant. The wait was under an hour. All the staff were very friendly. The wait for the food did not take long. It was fresh and delicious. I highly enjoyed the visit. Def recommend checking it out.

Yelp
What a treat being able to visit their second location in the first opening week! My sister and I enjoyed a nice brunch on their patio. It was private and cozy, even while facing the busy Lamar street. Our server, Daniel, had the best descriptions and gave really great recommendations. He's also a hero for safely removing a wasp sipping on my sister's coffee. 10/10 service I had their Emerald City (matcha lemonade) and the Chicken & Biscuit. My sister had the Texas Hash with avocado and a lavender latte. The emerald city is a refreshing and light on the sweetness. The chicken & biscuit was our servers rec and very grateful for it. Chicken was juicy yet crispy, well seasoned and lightly drizzled plate with spicy honey. Biscuit had a fluffy bounciness. I love when they do a soft scramble omelette type Texas hash had pretty good carnitas and the pecan mole was really a nice compliment. I wish they had a bit more throughout the plate. I love a good poached egg, well executed. I didn't try her latte as I'm not a fan of lavender, but she and the wasp seemed to like it. Thank you Paper Boy, best wishes on your expansion.

Yelp
This place is a mess! First off, there's no parking. I found a garage nearby. Instead of just giving a small amount of money to park, i had to scan a QR code, setup an account, give a whole bunch of personal information. I don't even know what I was charged to park. They could have charged $100. I wouldn't know. I finally get to the very crowded and incredibly loud restaurant. I had a business lunch here with 2 other people on a Friday . We put our names in. 45 minute wait. We waited 1 hour before we decided to just walk somewhere else for lunch. Nobody ever texted us about sitting down at a table. A complete waste of 1 hour.

Yelp
The vibes of this place is great. They've done a great job with the space. The only downside is that its view is of the road, but there isn't much to be done with that. The restaurant is a part of an apartment building complex and there is parking in the garage below the restaurant. The system wasn't running yet so we didn't have to pay for parking at the end of June when I went. I asked if it will be validated in the future but they weren't sure yet. I highly recommend it. I met up with a friend for coffee on a weekday. They accommodated my toddler by providing a high chair and water in a cup with a straw. We tried the pop tart and the ham and cheese empanada. Both were good, the empanada was a little burnt on the outside but the inside was flavorful. The pop tart was homemade and not overly sweet. My friend lives nearby and has been to that location multiple times. She loves the menu and loves that its easy to pop in for coffee. I'll be back (if they validate) when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Great service, vibe and food. The pancake and migas were really good. Appreciated the free dessert bites we got at the end as well!

Yelp
Nice people. Strong espresso. Very fast service for the espresso. No waiting. This was a Thursday morning.

Yelp
Service was terrific, food was just okay. Asked for soft-scrambled eggs and they were hard-cooked. The Paperboy pancake is interesting, but there's nothing in the menu description to indicate that it's more of a Dutch baby or clafoutis than a regular pancake. Not sure the iced tea was fresh. Maybe other parts of the menu are a better choice. We were on the dog-friendly patio, which was unbelievably noisy between the Lamar traffic and ongoing construction right next to the restaurant. So not a great pick if you want to chat with your companions over a meal. The restaurant obvs has a devoted following, so this was only our experience.

Yelp
The service was wonderful. Made reservations for breakfast to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and they went above and beyond to make us feel special. Food was amazing as always. Thank you for making our day!

Yelp
Had brunch today for an early Father's Day celebration. My wife, myself, and our 3 kiddos. Had such a wonderful experience! Glad we made reservations. They were out of all the shareable except for the blueberry lemon roll (which we ordered and it was a hit for the whole family). Our kids shared two paperboy blueberry pancakes (made it a breakfast which added 2 eggs with bacon or sausage). Wifey and I ate the Chicken & Biscuit each. Everything was so flavorful and absolutely hit the spot! Thanks for a memorable meal with my family!! We'll be back for special occasions!

Yelp
I finally made a reservation to go to PaperBoy after years of saying I wanted to go, but never following through. I had heard really good things about it through my sister, so I was excited to make a reservation for my friend's birthday lunch. There was an option to leave a note on the reservation, so I mentioned her birthday and asked for a little card or something sweet. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the host with such kindness and warmth. There was a cute card at the table acknowledging her birthday, and the manager (I believe) came by with a complimentary Cinnamon Toast (which we had talked about sharing but they didn't know that). It looked like French Toast, but it has whipped mascarpone, pecans and cinnamon. Tasted like a cinnamon roll, just mouth watering. I will be dreaming of it for months. The sweet heart who gave us the toast stayed to chat for a minute and answer my questions, and was very friendly and kind. It made my friend feel very special and celebrated. Our waitress, Dannie, was a peach! Very attentive, very kind, and just great energy. The food was delicious, everything on the menu looks amazing, it was a very hard decision. I went with the Lox Plate (in Shareable's). Smoked salmon over a lemon pepper shmear, hibiscus pickled onions and roasted tomato. It came with Flax bread, which normally I would switch for something else, but I decided to stick with it because Dannie said it was really good, and she was right. I squeezed the fresh lime wedge they left on the plate over my salmon and my bread as well, and it leveled the plate uppppp. My friend had the Classic Breakfast and enjoyed it as well. We also had lattes, iced and hot, and both amazing! Just great food, great service, great vibes (they were playing 70's disco). I love writing good reviews because I don't very often. So thank you, PaperBoy! PSA they have two locations now, so check them out!!

Yelp
Fantastic service, waiter was extremely cautious of a food allergy and calm and cozy vibe inside. The food itself was also delicious

Yelp
Great food, great ambience. Parking was a bit of a hassle but it was well worth it. We enjoyed our meals
