"You have quite a few options for great pasta in Jersey City, but few offer it as many different ways as this downtown Italian spot. You can sit at an outdoor table, and order cacio e pepe or maltagliati with spicy sausage for dinner Thursday through Sunday, or you can buy freshly made pastas and sauces from their pasta counter, and try not to mess them up cooking at home." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, matt tervooren

"While long-running, red-sauce Italian spots like Joe and Pat’s (featured in the Sopranos) and Dante have closed in Jersey City, newfangled, more modern places have opened, and Pasta Dal Cuore is one. It was founded by Elena Cartagena, an Italian-Uruguayan, in 2014. Check out the freshly made pastas in the glass case as you enter, but the menu goes way beyond noodles. A meal there might feature a seafood faro salad followed by a chicken cutlet milanesa, but you can also stick with pastas, of which the lasagna shown here is one of the richest in town." - Robert Sietsema

"Pasta Dal Cuore takes pasta pretty seriously. Not only does this downtown Italian spot have a retail counter where they sell their freshly made pastas and list recommended sauces for each style, but the majority of the restaurant’s menu is made up of pastas as well. Order the squid ink pappardelle with shrimp-stuffed calamari or the ravioli filled with slow-braised short rib, and you’ll be very happy, especially if you take advantage of the BYO policy and bring a couple bottles of Italian wine." - Matt Tervooren

Everything about the restaurant was just “ok.” Seemed like an average place- the homemade pasta was decent with good portions sizes but the flavors/sauces weren’t exceptional. I didn’t like the Espresso martinis at all. I didn’t hate the night but I wouldn’t go back for seconds.

Google
Pasta Dal Cuore is our favorite pasta place in New York City, New Jersey, or Philadelphia. I highly recommend it as all the pastas are handmade and made fresh daily. The ambiance is nice, every time we've been there it's been on the quieter side with conversations and you have some privacy with the dividers they set up. The chef doesn't like making too many modifications to the meals, but we were able to get exactly what we wanted as the menu has a lot of good choices. The prices are fair for the quality of the food that you receive in the service has always been top notch here! This has been added to our rotation of favorite places to eat. I recommend you try it out and I hope you're not disappointed.

Stumbled upon an impressive Italian restaurant possibly with a chef that cares about his cooking. Sure you can always order from the menu, but you’d be missing out if you don’t give “serious consideration” to the specials for the night. Ours were ravioli 3 different ways and we ordered 2 out of the 3. Both was cooked to perfection, unique, and of course - tasty. To boot, you can also order some fresh pasta to go, but it probably won’t be as good as the chef cooking it...just kidding, who knows, you may be an expert cook yourself. The meatball, although good , wasn’t call your mom good, but I’d still order it again if I am hungry.

Pasta Dal Cuore is always a great choice. Fresh pasta, good drink selection, and yummy desserts. I felt safe eating indoors and the dividers made for a cozy and semi-private dining experience. Our waiter was also so welcoming and friendly!

Google
Excellent food quality. I highly recommend the specials! The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and quaint. With covid still being a factor, I felt safe as the tables were spaced out and separated in a classy manner, as if this was how the setup was originally planned. The wait staff was kind, informative, and attentive. They should get raises. If parking in Jersey City was not a huge pain, I could come back for more of this delicious high quality food.

Decent portions, okay pasta, good bread, okay tiramisu. I liked the service and the person on the phone was able to answer all my allergies related questions. However this place wasn’t quite able to hit the mark. I love the fennel in the bolognese but at the end of the day it still felt lacking the oomph of what makes a good bolognese, pasta choice could’ve also been better for it though. For the spinach pasta I found myself digging for the bacon bits because the sauce had only 1 real flavor and that’s acid. Now I understand tomatoes are acidic but this sauce needs depth and flavor. There needs to be more balance. Their tiramisu was okay but not memorable. I’m hoping the chef had a bad night and that’s why this food was created. However it feels like the food was made by a someone before they went to culinary school.

Google
Phenomenal dining, ambience and service. No longer BYOB like some of the other older reviews mention. Lots of great vegetarian options on the regular menu and additional options on the daily specials as well. We tried the eggplant appetizer, spinach linguine and mushroom fettuccine entrees. All of them were delicious. Lots of great dessert options as well.

Google
The arancini was to die for honestly. Service was a bit slow but overall not bad since it was late and they seem to only have one waiter. The bread was delicious & the drink was strong. Pasta was incredible & the dividers added a nice level of intimacy. Overall happy with how well everything went.

Yelp
Cozy, dimly lit, and romantic is the best way I can describe the ambiance during my dinner at Pasta Dal Core. The service was okay, not the best. The waiter was a little bit pushy in his recommendations, in a way that wasn't helpful or pleasant. I would order something and he would tell me that I didn't want to order that and would recommend something significantly higher in price. I had the Chicken Parm, which was delicious but lukewarm. I'd be willing to give this location another chance, hopefully the service is better.

Yelp
Decent spot. Everything was just a little off, which marks down the rating for me. Eggplant appetizer (picture for reference) - taste was really good but came out cold which made it less enjoyable Espresso Martini - it was very milky and tasted a bit off Pasta - presentation was great but overall was a little bland, it was just missing something. Also it was pretty cold as well. The service was really good though.

Yelp
So glad to make it here for Jersey City Restaurant week! Amazing deal - $40 for a cocktail, appetizer, and pasta dish. The star of this spot is the space and the service - Our servers were all extremely friendly, personable, and highly attentive - Frequently coming in to check on us, chat a bit, and made the experience great! The Aperol Spritz was fine, as expected. I did not have the eggplant (pictured), but the starter salad and fried cauliflower were both amazing. The salad was light and refreshing, and the friend cauliflower was perfectly crispy. You can definitely tell the pasta is handmade! Great tasting Carbonara, but was hoping that it would be creamier, was a bit more watery than I would have liked, but still tasted great. Very generous portion sizes as well. Definitely a great 2nd / 3rd date spot, hoping to be back here!

Yelp
I think I might've found a go to Italian restaurant for hand made pasta in Jersey City! We came on a Saturday night with reservations at 9PM. The restaurant was decently busy at this time, but there were still 1-2 tables open if you didn't have reservations. We didn't know this at the time of the reservation, but they just happened to be hosting Restaurant Week! They had an amazing special where you could order a drink, an appetizer, and the main dish for $40. For drinks we got the Paloma, which was super refreshing and strong! To start with, we ordered the Crostini di Funghi and Arancini, and it sent us to cheesy heaven. For our mains we ordered the Linguine Alla Burrata and the Linguine Di Spinachi All'Amatriciana. Both of the noodles to our dishes were slightly undercooked but pushing aside that, both pasta had amazing flavor. I definitely liked the Spinachi All'Amatriciana more though. For desert we ended with a tiramisu which was placed into a transparent glass. The coffee flavor wasn't too overpowering and it was just enough sweetness with every bite. The fresh berries definitely added a nice touch

Yelp
Came here for a pre-marathon meal and was not disappointed. We came at 5pm and there were tons of seats but we decided to do take out. I got the fettuccine with mushroom and garlic and olive oil. My friend got the seafood pasta in a tomato sauce. Food was still warm/hot when we ate. Portions were pretty big. My mushroom pasta came with a lot of mushrooms which I loved. Pasta was good but it could have used more oil to keep it flexible and moist. The seafood pasta was big. One container has the squid ink with calamari and shrimps. The other had the muscles - which were tender and delicious. The tomato sauce was very good, and I found myself dipping the bread into it. Meal came with 3 slices of bread and pesto in a little takeout cup. Overall, great meal. Next time I would eat in. Sadly I forgot to take photos.

Yelp
Not gonna lie, was a bit disappointed by the food here! Or maybe my expectations were too high. Came here on a wednesday night for my wife's birthday. Started off nicely with a heavy pour of wine, but when you get a peroni you kind of expect to get a chilled glass to pour it in, not to just drink it from the bottle. The homemade bread to start wasnt bad, the pesto was pretty bland. We ordered a salad that sounded pretty good and tasted good too besides the large dollop of ricotta! The pasta is what disappointed us. The spaghetti carbonara was pretty cold, sauce cold and runny. Meat was nice and crisp but overpowered the flavor since sauce was very watery. The linguini special with burrata, i guess it just ruined the burrata overall. And just SO many cherry tomatos like they had extra for the night and needed to use it. Overall, the place had us wanting more. Maybe we'll give another chance on a weekend?

Yelp
Some of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The Maltagliata Pugliesi was out of this world and the tagliatelle, excellent. I'm so impressed by the quality of this place, even delivered. Can't wait to go back for more. One of the best!

Tulshi P.

Yelp
3 stars for the service but 4 for the food. I was craving homemade pasta and heard great things about this restaurant so gave it a try on a Friday evening. I made reservations and sat indoors (they have partitions between all tables). They also have outdoor seating. Service was very slow but it's due to them being understaffed. Our server disappeared on us after taking our order. Another server brought out the drinks, pesto and bread for the table and our entrees. The food was absolutely phenomenal! We ordered the cacio e pepe and fettucine funghi, both are highly recommended. I ended up flagging down our server and then the hostess to get chili oil and parmesan cheese, which was a 20 minute ordeal.

Yelp
A great authentic Italian restaurant in Jersey City! The service was amazing and was able to give a great description for the dishes. I ordered the meatballs and cacio e Pepe for dinner. The meatballs come with 5 and are delicious! Everything is freshly made in house. The cacio e Pepe's pasta was a unique color but it lacked that black pepper taste and was very oily. Other than that everything was amazing!

Kevin R.

Yelp
Food was just fine. Asked for fresh ground pepper and received a small cup of black pepper (photo attached). Needed 3 staff members to let us know, if the rosé wine was dry. Service was fine for casual dinning but menu prices were more $$$ for the service / food received. Unfortunately for them, there are better Italian places in the same neighborhood.

Yelp
We've been in Jersey City for almost 1.5 years now and we have yet to have Pasta Dal Cuore. When a friend wanted to meet up for dinner, I knew just the place. I wasn't aware they take reservations - apparently they do - so we arranged to meet at 6pm and we were the first party in the restaurant. The interior is definitely bigger than it looks on the inside and they are able to fit a ton of tables. It gave off a very date-night vibe, as most of the tables were for parties of 2. We opted to split one of their daily appetizers - a burrata with brussels and Italian sausage. It was really good - I love the non-tradition sides. We both had the chicken parm with daily pasta in vodka sauce. I love, love a good vodka sauce and this one was great. The portion is a very decent size too, I ended up taking most of my chicken parm to go. We opted not to stay for dessert, as X had baked a cheesecake that we'd be returning home to. Service was prompt and friendly.

Yelp
We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday here and had a fantastic experience! The food and drinks were all great, but the best part of our night was the amazing service from Ashley & Welvin. It was a larger party, which can be difficult but they were accommodating every step of the way. We are already planning to come back soon!

Yelp
Amazing artisnal pasta, even more amazing-er marinara. A very reasonable amount of vegetarian choices, not as many vegan tho. Salads always fresh and perfect, usually dusted w an Italian rustic cheese. Decor is becoming quite cozy and charming w an enchanting touches. It has its own sense of space and isn't typical. Even the bathroom has style. This is a great place to take a date or have an intimate group of friends. I'll be back to close the night w tiramisu and an espresso or even an espresso martini. I appreciate the staffs knowledge of items and friendliness. Definitely a neighborhood staple. I do miss the parklet, that thing was really cool

Yelp
I love having go-to spots so close to home. We've got pizza, sandwiches, Indian, coffee, and Mexican covered (+ others I'm sure I'm forgetting)...but never a pasta spot. That's changed as of tonight. Dinner via delivery was awesome -- so I can only imagine how good the food is on premise, fresh from the kitchen. We both were craving a good chicken parm and that's what we both got -- one vodka, one marinara -- plus the arugula salad. The chicken was excellent, however, the pasta was the star. The spaghetti was clearly homemade and perfectly al dente, just a tad thicker than what you'd expect (in the best way) and still plenty warm by the time it got here. It took a lot of self control on both our parts not to devour the entire (massive) servings we were given. The menu has a LOT to choose from, and you better believe we're going to be trying some more. Bottom line: Excellent homemade pasta and delicious sauces. Say hello to your downtown JC pasta spot.

Yelp
Fresh, tasty pasta dishes, and I love that there's also a selection for customers to bring back pasta to cook at home! My friends and I all enjoyed our dishes here, and we had a mini food coma afterwards (but in a good happy kinda way). But while the pasta here was delicious, I had to bump my rating down for two reasons: service was slow (we waited close to ~30 min for our food), and the menu overall felt pricey for what it was. At $18+ for each dish, I felt myself expecting a little more. I was also a bit disappointed in the wine pours as well - my white wine arrived in a small glass and my friends also commented how little it seemed. But I know the restaurant only recently started serving alcohol, so I guess I'll give them a pass this time around... but I'd probably opt for a beer or no drinks next time.

Daniel H.

Yelp
Ordered chicken parm + spaghetti combo and fresh burrata. Where do I begin... I will start with the most upsetting one. There was a strong perfume scent/taste in the food that remained for hours after eating. Even after rinsing, drinking, eating other food to try to get it out, everyone who ate the food had a lingering perfume scent. I am still suffering from it as I write this. This is a safety issue and just absolutely unacceptable. I would pay to not have eaten here. Spaghetti was mushy and I could taste the flour. The sauce was watery and had no flavor. It was supposed to me spicy marinara sauce but honestly tasted worse than a school cafeteria meal. I would have believed it if I was told it's instant spaghetti. Then I would toss it out. The chicken parm was less than decent. Chicken was tough, dry, and really worse than one you might get from a pizzeria. The burrata arrived already split open and warm. It tasted fine but did not taste particularly fresh or special. (Menu claimed: "Special: imported from Italy") Very upsetting experience with concerns for kitchen hygiene and safety.

Brandon C.

Yelp
Excellent food and even more excellent service! Being so many great pasta places in nyc and nj it definitely is hard to stand out, and they did!

Bridget B.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner at Pasta Dal Cuore. The food was perfectly cooked, seasoned and tasted so fresh and homemade. We started with the fried burrata and it came with crisp sausage, tomato and roasted Brussels. While the burrata was delicious, the star was the crispy sausage! Ask for a side of red sauce and you'll love it even more. We had two of their mixed cocktails--the espresso martini and a champagne cocktail-- both were delicious. For mains we had two of their specials--the lasagna and spinach ravioli with shrimp and salmon. Both were out of this world. The service and quality of food make this easily 5 stars.

Marcus S.

Yelp
Decent pasta restaurant with a very authentic and fine dining setting as well as presentation. The quality of their pasta is highly talked up, particularly so with their fresh pasta counter which has it's own hours. Came here for a dinner party and we were well accommodated and tended to, from being waited on to having our wine glasses kept full. I had the Short Rib Ravioli. This is the only answer for me if it's on any menu. It was good. That's all I can say about it though. Not great, not excellent. It was just good. Perhaps I am not the top pasta or the Italian cuisine connoisseur but it just didn't evoke any excitement for me for all the ballyhoo in it's menu description. This includes it being handmade, grano pandana shavings, etc. The portion was what I'd expect for an entrée of it's type, but still found it to be a bit small. Lastly when I'm spending +$20 on food (single entrée) my expectations shoot up fast. Even the dessert didn't exactly wow me - Happy ending, a slice of tiramisu was more like an ok ending. So again, good. I'd say 3 and 1/2 with lower end. Perhaps not my flavor. If you're heavy into Italian food, particularly pasta and want to be fancy in JC Pasta Dal Cuore is probably for you.

Sonal M.

Yelp
Pasta Dal Cuore is the place to get your pasta fix. They make their pasta fresh in house daily and also sell fresh pasta to take home. I very much enjoyed the service, the gnocchi dish and dessert. They are no longer a byob establishment and sell beer/wine.

Vincent I.

Yelp
Great food. All home made pastas. Excellent Italian dishes, atypical from your everyday Italian restaurants in our area. Their meat sauce was phenomenal. Their meatballs delish. Everything from apps to dessert was supreme. My only negative is that the service was a little slow but that was only because they were extremely busy when we were there. Very polite, very clean, nice people. It's a winner for your next meal.

Will V.

Yelp
4.5 stars. We wanted to try Pasta Dal Cuore for a few years and on a beautiful summer night finally decided to make a reservation and come in for dinner. It was well worth it, Pasta Dal Cuore provides excellent service and freshly made pasta. Service is friendly, informative, and professional, with good explanations of nightly specials, helpful wine tips, and excellent pacing of courses. We started with a bottle of rosé and fresh imported Italian burrata, served with roasted brussels sprouts, Italian sausage, roma tomatoes, and caramelized onions. It was a busy looking plate, but everything worked well, with the burrata as the featured attraction. For entrees, we had the gnocchi di ricotta all'arrabbiata and the spaghetti neri ai frutti di mare. The gnocchi was outstanding, a good sized portion with Italian buffalo milk ricotta, padano cheese, and tomato basil sauce. The dish was much lighter in taste than expected and very pleasing. My only issue was that it was not arrabbiata: it was not spicy and there were no chili flakes, as mentioned on the menu, to be found. The squid ink spaghetti was also stellar with a good sized pile of shrimp, roma tomatoes, black diamond mussels, and calamari to go with the fresh pasta. Decor is very simple, with nothing on the walls, and a few paintings or photos could liven up the place. Service was fantastic and the chef tonight was apparently the owner; she did an excellent job. This used to be a BYOB spot, but now no longer as they have a cocktail menu and an affordable wine list. All in all, this was a very good meal and we will return!

Victoria S.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised when I came here for date night this week. From the outside, I didn't think there was much appeal, but when you walk in it's very romantic. We didn't need reservations (the restaurant said they hadn't activated Resy yet) so we just walked in on a Thursday evening and were seated right away. I ordered a bottle of Chianti wine (love Tuscan wines) and it was splendid. We ordered the meatballs (nothing spectacular) for antipasto, Tagliatelle Bolognese, and Special Spinach Ricotta Ravioli. The spinach ricotta was very good and the tagliatelle was tasty as well. I wasn't blown away with anything but this is a great restaurant and the service was amazing. I would definitely head back for a romantic, yet welcoming dinner.

Indy L.

Yelp
Was lucky enough to get a walk in seat during restaurant week. It definitely got crowded a few minutes after we got seated. The waiter, Manolo was super friendly and convinced us to try a bunch of their seasonal items and gave great suggestions on entrees. I tried the bolognese and it was cooked perfectly

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday so we had a group of 6. We made reservations but on a Sunday night at 6 it was actually pretty quiet! It started to fill up more as the night progressed though. To start we tried the meatball appetizer and the special. Both were very good! The fresh burrata cheese in the special along with the fried risotto cake went perfectly together. My only complaint is that the portions were not larger. It is hard to share with more than 3 people but we each managed a bite. For my main course I had the special truffle mushroom ravioli pasta. It was very rich and creamy with a 4 cheese sauce. Very filling as well and I gave away a few pieces to my friends. Overall I would certainly come back here to try other things. It is a great place for a romantic date night or special celebration. Prices are not cheap so be prepared for a high bill, but it is so worth it!

Jasmine Z.

Yelp
Came here during Jersey City's restaurant week for dinner and this will probably be one of my go-to recommendations for friends/family looking for good pasta in Jersey City! When we first arrived, the front restaurant area was empty, so we panicked briefly thinking that our reservation was botched, but the hostess showed up and we were seated very shortly. They had partitions for privacy and candles to light up the dimmed dining room. We got to try the meatballs (which I no longer see on their menu) which were savory and filling. I also tried the Tagliatelle Bolognese - the pasta noodles were perfectly al dente and ingredients were so fresh! I wish I had more room to enjoy the tiramisu, but that was wonderful as well.

Evgenia J.

Yelp
I used to love this place, recommended it to all my friends in the area - it was never disappointing, pasta and other dishes were always on top! Service is exceptional and space is very welcoming and cosy. The restaurant is very clean, which is rare and I appreciate that! Our last visit a couple weeks ago was a bit disappointing though. Service is still amazing, and thank you for that, our server was great, super sweet and friendly and funny.. But the food - I didn't expect it would be so bad this time. We ordered two portions of mushroom pasta that I totally loved at this place before, but this time it was different - very dry, no sauce, and mushrooms itself where super dry - almost burnt - and tasted bitter. I couldn't even finish the dish. Deserts were not tasty as well: we were hoping for classic Italian tiramisu - it's authentic Italian restaurant with home made pastas and deserts, and that tiramisu wasn't it! Not to mention it had some sort of jam on top - who does that!?? the other desert wasn't great as well - vanilla panacotta, the taste was bland. We left hungry and a bit confused, we really always loved food at this restaurant. I hope it was just a bad day at the kitchen, And other days the food is good as I remember it from my previous visits.

Jess C.

Yelp
Like the setting of the restaurant, dividers for privacy. I 100% recommend if you r a cheese lover. We ordered too much. Personally I prefer burrata not fried but it's special and loved the Brussel sprouts with sausage as garnish. Personally too much cheese in the eggplant thing but delish overall. Loved the meatballs. I had the gamborini for main course. It's good but I was really full at that point. Had the tiramisu for dessert, it was average but hit the spot. Good experience. Recommend for pasta and cheese lovers.

Pat J.

Yelp
So came back after about a year to pick up the funghi mushroom pasta we adored. Debated at first with Fiancé if we should just make dinner to save cash. I won that one and we decided to go for the carbonara pasta as well. Picked up to go, and bill was over $50. Funghi pasta was as good as I remember, but the portion size was significantly different than carbonara which was full to the brim. While sharing we noticed the carbonara past was bone dry and had no sauce, therefore no flavor. I tried to heat up slightly to see if it had to be released to no avail. So we had to throw some oil and garlic in a pan to mix it up in, something you should not have to do when you decide to order out and not cook lol especially when paying over $50 for pasta dishes, you want to be full and satisfied. To Shoprite next time, either my own sauce or Rao's for everything under $8.

Jenn R.

Yelp
The service was good and the staff was very nice, however the food was really underwhelming particularly for the price. Pasta swimming in way too much sauce, chicken parm not browned at all on top. When fresh ground pepper was requested, a small dish of regular shaker pepper was brought out with a spoon in it (if you don't have a pepper grinder, how do you at least not have a pepper shaker? And what Italian restaurant doesn't have a pepper grinder?). They do have good wines and have a happy hour on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so might check that out. But there's far better pasta at Roman Nose just down the block.

Judith M.

Yelp
Had a fabulous meal there today. Staff is charming. Place is comfortable.. started with eggplant appetizer and aracini. Both were excellent. For entrees I had the Cacio e Pepi, the pasta was perfect to the tooth and tossed well with pepper and Roman cheese. My companion had the Carbonara and scraped the plate! Dessert was a cannoli...but the order came with three different cannoli. Really good. I can't recommend it more highly. You should try it!

Grace S.

Yelp
I expected more I guess? They advertise fresh pasta here and the pasta that I got was very expensive so I thought it was gonna taste fantastic. The noodles were really chewy though and the flavor was oily. Maybe I just don't understand the flavors they were going for. Either way it was not for me

Carol H.

Yelp
Love this place! Dining in is always good here, but what we really love is actually buying fresh pasta and sauce to take home and cook. Quality is amazing and nothing beats having fresh pasta at home!

Mark D.

Yelp
I felt like I was transported to Italy. Spaghetti Carbonara was exceptional and elevated by fresh made pasta, egg yolk and crispy pancetta. Just the right amount of pepper and grated cheese. Service was a little slow but not too bad. Beverage options were limited. Spaghetti and meatballs were very delicious. High on subtlety and fresh ingredients. Ambiance was similar to the places in Little Italy. Local artists' artwork on the walls. This is not your typical Italian restaurant. Felt like the authentic Italian cooking and not run of the mill American Italian cooking. Will definitely go back.

Brighid M.

Yelp
I've literally been thinking about the fried burrata appetizer that was on special since we had it three days ago! The carbonara was delicious, although the pancetta was crispy to the point of ALMOST tasting overcooked and dry. The only reason Pasta Dal Cuore is receiving 4 stars is the misinformation on their website and lack of accountability by the hostess. We were under the impression that the restaurant was still BYOB (as were a few other patrons that night), because as of that day, their website reflected this by significantly featuring a review highlighting this aspect of the business. When we arrived with a bottle of wine, the hostess seemed unconcerned that the website was incorrect and basically shrugged us off. We overheard the waiter tell the couple next to us that they've had their liquor license since June 2020! We did end up ordering glasses of wine, and the pours (and the glasses) were rather small. At $9.50+/glass for such a small portion, we'd opt for a bottle in the future. The food was delicious but their marketing is misleading and the hostess was less than apologetic.

Yelp
went here for my boyfriends 26th birthday! Here's a little bit about our experience: Service: Exceptional. They give you a warm welcome, are accommodating with reservations and will highlight the specials and tell you what's good on the menu which I always appreciate. They bring our a candle to make it a cute candle light dinner as well, I loved the ambiance. The place itself has a minimalist but romantic vibe, the tables are also separated by dividers which I appreciated since it enhances privacy. Parking: Hard to find, leave plenty of extra time to find it. Drinks: We had the Chianti red wine, they explained where it was from and the bottle picture and all which made the vibe feel really fancy. Also good red wine! Food: Overall, I had higher expectations from fresh pasta. Maybe I'm just not the right kind of pasta connoisseur, but I just wasn't wowed. Maybe I also may not have ordered all the right things! I would go back and try different things. I'm totally willing to give this place another shot. My favorite thing we got was the ARANCINIcheese risotto balls served with marinara sauce - SOOOO GOOD! This came out super hot warm and cheesy with a delicious sauce. The two pastas we got were the FETTUCINE AGLIO E PEPE AI FUNGHI (which I liked a little more out of the two, I just wish there was a cream or cheesy type of component or like Parmesan on top was offered -- but maybe I'm just basic and too used to olive garden) and GNOCCHI DI RICOTTA DI BUFALA ALL'ARRABBIATA (was good for the first few bites then it felt too acidic for my taste). As mentioned, super open to going back and supporting the business and trying something else, but I hope this review helps you decide what to order!

Yelp
The food was very good. This is my first visit here. The staff is welcoming and the food comes out in no time. I will be back again in the future.

Yelp
Pasta was just ok. Nothing special. There is room for improvement to make it great pasta.

Yelp
I Love Pasta Dal Cuore. I've been here many times. The service is a bit slow, but I like the price point and I like their fresh pasta. BYOB only.

Yelp
I really liked this place - and I'm not a pasta/Italian fanatic either. When I do eat it, I prefer to have fresh pasta with squid ink being among my top three favorite types of pasta. That being said, it was exciting to find out that they had a squid ink pasta made in house and also with mussels/seafood! I also go to try their funghi pasta as well and this was extremely tasty too. Squid Ink Pasta with Mussels: PROS - fantastic quantity. It's definitely shareable especially if you want to try more than one pasta. - cooked perfectly - great amount of seafood: good balance with the pasta-to-seafood ratio. - good amount of sauce: not too much, not too little. CONS - sauce could have been a little bit richer. Seafood is rich in and of itself, but the tomato sauce tasted very ... "fresh". As if it was more blended tomato than an actual sauce. Funghi Pasta (with big fat noodles) - I really need to learn the names of my pasta. PROS: - GREAT mushroom flavor (I love mushrooms) - sauce was not overpowering, not overly seasoned either. - pasta cooked perfectly CONS: (not a con since I loved this dish even though it wasn't mine) - if you do not like the flavor of earthiness or mushrooms, this is not it for you. Roasted Brussel Sprouts (appetizer) PROS: - fantastic quantity for sharing - brussel sprouts not overcooked or soggy (I hated brussel sprouts as a child bc of this) - good seasoning - the cheese (Burrata I believe? Or not) was AMAZING. CONS: - could be slightly more roasted. Service was great, they were super attentive. Outdoor seating was well spaced apart with more than 6 feet distancing to keep us all safe. I would definitely come back if not to also purchase fresh pasta to cook!

Yelp
I created a Yelp account just to write this review tonight. I DONT KNOW HOW THIS RESTAURANT HAS A 4/5 RATING... it should be ZERO. I went to the restaurant with my girlfriend and her parents tonight because of the high ratings. Here are the highlights: The waitstaff was nonexistent (and most likely one person). Two people at our table received their wine 25 minutes after ordering. The other two people received it 45 minutes after ordering. The waiter stopped by to ask if I'd also ordered wine, before serving it 20 minutes later. The waiter never came back to our table so I asked the hostess to refill our wine. Another 25 minutes later, after a second visit from the hostess, the waiter came back and poured our wine. One hour into our experience, we received our appetizer. One hour and 45 minutes into our experience, we received our entrees. The 3 people who tasted the gnocchi all independently decided it tasted like Chef Boy Ardee. It could not have tasted any more like chef boy ardee... I ordered the seafood dish with mussels, calimari, and shrimp. Two of the five mussels in my dish were UNDERCOOKED. I almost threw up at the table. As someone who has worked in restaurants for over 4 years I know not to blame the wait staff but this was an unacceptable experience. I would advise anyone I liked not to attend this restaurant.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal!!! From the moment we enter to the restaurant, the lady who greet us, our server Manolo very knowledgeable and helpful and the busgirl. We ordered: the shrimp appetizer delicious we had to order twice Entree's: we had the di mare pasta(sea food) and the vegetarian pasta. Let me tell you everything was cooked on point from the shrimp to a perfect al dente pasta. This was our first time and definitely going back! Thanks Pasta Dal Cuore Team!

Yelp
Place was average. I've had better Italian food than this place. Service was okay and food was also okay. Nothing to brag about. Didn't get a pic of the food but I got a pic of the desserts and cappuccinos we had.

Yelp
Just a random Italian place we found on Yelp while in JC one day. They make their own cheese in house which I thought was cool. We tried their special fried burrata cheese. I thought it was okay but my boyfriend who's an avid cheese fan thought it was delicious. Short Rib Ravioli- ravioli was yummy but the reduction sauce was weird...it was good alone but I feel like it didn't go with the beef ravioli dish. Lasagna- traditional lasagna. the red sauce was good. tasted fresh and homemade. Ricotta cheesecake- more hype than what it was. It was too much ricotta, less of a dessert item. Restaurant itself is pretty small- typical for JC but we sat outside which was a beautiful day anyway. Service was good. Would I be back? probably not but I don't regret trying it out.

Yelp
Place is garbage. Overpriced everything with small portions and the owner is not friendly. Doesn't talk to all the tables like an owner should or even A table if there is a problem she leaves it to the servers to be the bad guy. This is your restaurant not theirs, you handle the problem not your staff to make sure the guest are happy whether it's their fault, the kitchen or both.

Yelp
The restaurant was loud with booming trap music and today's top 40. The dividers gave a weird asian theme. Our waiter was a self proclaimed capitalist. We ordered the Fried Burrata, probably really good if you like brussel sprouts. I got the squid ink spaghetti. it came with literally 20+ mussels. and a big pile of calamari and shrimp. very healthy portion. the sauce and noodles were decent, but there was some sand in the mussels and the shrimp were overcooked. My SO got the Amatriciana: "it was good, it was a nice amount of acidic". They forgot the bread that they said they were gonna bring.

Yelp
Overall: Pasta del Cuore has fresh homemade pasta and a medium-sized menu consisting mostly of classic Italian pasta dishes. It's not a bad option and you'll get large portions, but in this case the dishes via take-out didn't quite live up to expectations. Food: We ordered chicken parm with vodka sauce and pesto linguine with green beans and potatoes. The chicken was cooked and breaded well, but there wasn't enough cheese or sauce on top or in the container. The pasta with vodka sauce came in a separate container, so it was sort of like we ordered three dishes instead of two. The vodka sauce was fine - about what we expected. The combination of both was probably enough to serve 1.5 (or maybe 2 skinny people), so there was plenty of value for the $22 there. The pesto linguine was tasty for the first few bites, but it was quite heavy and needed some acidity or other depth of flavor. Maybe some fresh tomatoes could have helped? For lack of better words - it just seemed a bit too green in both look and flavor, even for a pesto dish. We'll probably come back at some point in the future for a dinner in-restaurant, as we remember having a positive experience there in the past. We understand that it's difficult for restaurants to provide the same quality via take-out than when serving directly to customers.
