Where to Buy Authentic Panettone in Rome

"A couple of blocks from the charming Quartiere Coppedè, award-winning Pasticceria Gruè run by husband and wife Felice Venanzi and Marta Boccanera makes some of the best panettone in Rome. In addition to the classic panettone, they offer several other flavors, including the Gianduoso with dark chocolate and hazelnuts from Piedmont and the Caramela with apples and salted caramel, which my husband and I ordered this year. If you want to be sure to get one, it’s best to order in advance." - Laura Itzkowitz

The 19 Best Bakeries In Rome - Rome - The Infatuation

"There’s some real pastry magic happening at Grue. It’s the type of place that flaunts all the baked goods awards they’ve won over the years, and the maritozzo is their crowning jewel—it’s got a perfectly risen brioche and a lemon curd surprise that’s hiding in between the mountain of whipped cream. Holding one feels similar to cradling a softball with a ridiculous amount of whipped cream—one bite and you’ll be scrambling to keep it all in." - annie replogle

Chef Fabrizio Fiorani’s Food Guide to Rome

"Here, you can find amazing brioche, croissant and pastry [in the] early morning for a great breakfast. One of the must-tries here is the homemade panettone that is only available during the Christmas season." - Kenneth Goh

After exploring the taste of Italy for a long time, we’ve discovered another top-quality Roman gem: Gruè Pasticceria – a delightful cake and sweet shop in the heart of Rome. An exceptional experience with delicious pastries and excellent coffee. We’ll definitely be back soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ service. Clean spot. Same quality of Marstro Iginio Massari 🇮🇹

I truly enjoyed both the sweet and savoury treats — you can really tell they’re prepared by a talented pastry chef using top-quality ingredients. The place itself is elegant and located in a beautiful part of the city, yet the prices are surprisingly fair. Finally, the pastry chef was incredibly kind and even shared a few suggestions on where to find similar experiences back home in Milan

Terrific place for breakfast Roman style. Luscious savory sandwiches (small bites of perfect), followed by some sweet- croissants with yummy filling (airy bread soft and perfect, or maybe a little strawberry tart that requires another. The cappuccino are just right- no sugar needed or wanted. This place is gorgeous and full of locals who come back because it’s perfect. Go. Then go again.

Pasticceria Gruè is hands down the best place to enjoy a delicious treat in town. The cakes, pastries, and panettone are all made with the highest quality ingredients and are truly a feast for the senses. The attention to detail in their creations is evident in every bite, from the flaky crusts to the rich and decadent fillings. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they were able to recommend the perfect treat for my taste. Whether you're in the mood for a classic Italian pastry or something more modern and creative, Pasticceria Gruè has something for everyone. If you're looking for a special treat or just want to indulge in some of the best baked goods around, Pasticceria Gruè is the place to go!

I was really fond of the desserts when I lay eyes on them. Really artistic and great taste, explosion of flavours. Price range from 1, - or 1,50 per piece. The place offers different drinks, tea specialties are €4,50. Place is neat and modern. Pretty clean and young personel. They explained every macaroon flavour to me, tiramisu, strawberry with a hint of roses, chocolate with ginger, blue berry, lemon, really great. 1,50 a piece macaroon

Aesthetically beautiful pastries with high quality ingredients. Croissant was soft, delicate, nicely crafted and very light, I appreciated the real vanilla in the filling. The staff is very good at doing their job. However, even if the level is high, prices are a bit over what I think is fair; but you don’t go to places like that expecting a cheap bill. Another constructive note: the attention to detail that can be seen in the food should be the same in the decor, but many of the leather chairs were visibly marred in some parts. Overall definitely recommended.

Best pistachio croissant ever! We tried 5 different things and some were a hit and some definitely a miss. Go with the more common options if you go here. Coffe was really good though!
