Where to Find Birria Tacos in the Boston Area | Eater Boston

"New South Shore hotspot Pearl & Lime, sibling to the Townshend, is offering a porky take on birria tacos, served on local Mi Tierra tortillas. “Our birria uses carnitas that sits in an ancho and guajillo chile brine for twenty-four hours and then gets our proprietary ‘green rub’ prior to being wrapped in banana leaves and being cooked overnight,” says co-owner Palmer Matthews. “The stock and liquid that the carnitas was cooked in is then set aside and further infused with beef marrow bones. The tortilla is dipped in this liquid before going on top of the plancha, and then is covered in queso Oaxaca and queso Chihuahua before the carnitas is added. It is then served with a side of the carnitas consomé.” Pearl & Lime is currently offering takeout, outdoor dining, and indoor dining, as well as delivery via the major third-party platforms." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Everything was great but our drinks did have enough alcohol for us. It looked good and tasted good but no buzz at all.

I recently visited Pearl and Lime in Quincy and overall, I’d say it was just okay. The food felt like glorified fast food — a bit greasy and served in smaller portions than expected, especially considering the relatively high prices. It just didn’t feel like good value for money. The atmosphere was decent but nothing special. The space feels a bit cheaply put together, and our table wasn’t the most comfortable. That said, the service was absolutely fantastic — five stars without a doubt. The staff were friendly, attentive, and really made the experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately, great service alone isn’t enough for me to return. Three stars feels fair overall, but I won’t be going back.

Great until around 9pm. The locals will call the police if you smoke outside and ask them to stop beeping their cars. The police usually show up around 9:30 to get the drug dealers to vacate the premises. Fine for happy hour. Pretty chaotic and dangerous after the sun goes down. Advice is to just go to a local Irish bar so you’re safe. Never going back again. Especially after being charged 200 dollars for a three drinks and some tacos and cold desert. The staff are lovely. But it’s Quincy. Not back bay.

Google
This place was amazing and we can’t wait to go back. The service was tremendous and the food was stellar. Chips and guac are on par. We had the potatoes bravas and they weren’t the best we’ve ever had but they were fine. But the tacos blew our socks off, and the al pastor quesadilla did too. They were UNREAL. You have to get the Carne Asada taco. Fish taco came with a huge chunk of fish. Very filling. Drinks were good too, even their lime rickey. The only thing I wish I could change is their house made hot sauce which is on every table. It was very bad, tasted like wine and I’ve never had anything like that but I’m kind of a hot sauce snob. Regardless, that’s me nitpicking. Definitely go there, you will not be disappointed!

First off, shout out to Grace and the whole team. They're running the show, hands down the best in the city. Great vibes, music, food, drinks🍸 I ordered 3 diff. Tacos: Shrimp, Carnitas, & Pulled Chicken & 𝘐 will tell you they did NOT disappoint ! My bf ordered Birria Tacos & they were just as yummy as well 😋. I am so excited to return, Thanks again, P&L😆❤️ !

Been coming here several times a month for the past year and plan to continue doing so, the food, drinks, and service are always outstanding. Highly recommend!

Google
The tofu tacos are the best I've had. We also tried the carne asada and fish tacos and both tasted awesome with fresh ingredients. Their bar game is on point too - well made cocktails and bar seating avaliable. First time was dine-in, second time was delivery. Staff were friendly. New favorite for sure! Lots of gluten-free items. Huge selection of tequilas, mezcal, and rum. On Hancock St in downtown Quincy and close to the Quincy Central T.

Google
I've given this place two chances, but I don't think I'll come back a third time. There are normal dining tables, high tables, and bar seats. I did not have any trouble getting a table without a reservation for either lunch or dinner. During dinner, the lighting is quite low with candles at each table. I've tried almost all of the tacos, and the crispy pork belly is my favorite. It lives up to its name of being crispy, and the flavor is balanced. All of the other tacos were just ok. The meats were pretty dry, and the tortillas almost tasted stale. I also tried the raw oysters and papas bravas, but nothing notable about them.

Yelp
Atmosphere is amazing, the tacos were to die for, and the service was unbelievable. We also got the Mero Mero cocktail, and while on the stronger side (tequila), they were delicious. Will most definitely be returning for more

Yelp
Friendly, welcoming staff, laidback vibe, and fun music playing but not too loud. I started off with a special cocktail (tequila, grapefruit, ginger, lime in a mule glass). The drink was icy, well balanced and strong - perfect. We ordered a few things to share: ceviche which was fresh & delicious (but could use a few more chips), the al pastor quesadilla, sweet potato empanadas & a shrimp and fish taco. Everything was great - and shareable. Just know the tacos are little street tacos - about 3 bites each.

Yelp
Such a fun little Mexican spot right in the heart of Quincy! From what I've heard, this is one of the most popular restaurants in the area, and after learning it's from the same team behind nearby Dotty's Kitchen & Raw Bar (formerly the Townshend), it went right to the top of my list of places to visit. I had no trouble getting a res a couple of days in advance, but the place was packed and pretty small, so I imagine you might have a wait without one (especially with a big group). The space is cute and inviting, and all of the servers we interacted with were really great. We heard Pearl & Lime has a great cocktail program, and it didn't disappoint! I went with the Mo Problems margarita (nice balance of spicy with a little sweetness) and they even made an off menu Painkiller for my husband, which he was super excited about. For food, we went with the Chips and Guac, Ceviche, Street Corn, Al Pastor Quesadilla, and Carne Asada, Crispy Pork Belly, and Pulled Chicken tacos. I would order everything again with the exception of the Ceviche - in my opinion it leans on the coconut flavor a bit too much, so it's pretty bland and could use a lil something extra. The Al Pastor Quesadilla would be my #1 recommendation - so tasty and a bit more unique than the other items. I found the pricing reasonable too. Can't wait to come back and explore even more of the menu!

Yelp
A very decent Mexican restaurant in the area. Food is so delicious with great selection of mixed drinks. We used the InKind App for payments, which comes with some cash back, gift creditors, etc. Service is awesome.

Yelp
This is a great place to get drink with friends or for date night. I got the chips and queso to start with. It had a little bit of spice which is just how I like it. What I love about this place is the chicken birria tacos. Since I don't eat beef, I have a hard time finding substitutions for birria tacos but the chicken birria tacos are delicious. The chicken is juicy and perfect to dip with the broth. The staff was very friendly and offered up more hot sauces to try.

Yelp
Visited Pearl & Lime with my friend on a Friday around 6pm! We were seated fairly quickly but around 6:30pm it got quite busy as it took a while for us to flag down our server for the bill. We started with two drinks; a strawberry margarita and a mojito. The drinks weren't too strong; my friend said you could barely taste the alcohol in the mojito. The strawberry margarita was better than the mojito, but I think if I were to get a drink, I'd get something different. For food, we got tacos (barbacoa, crispy pork belly, and fish), papas bravas, and chicken tinga taquitos. I thought the tacos were on the pricier end since they were a bit smaller than a typical taco. I enjoyed the barbacoa and fish tacos but the meat of the crispy pork belly taco was tough and dry. My favorite was the papas bravas since the potatoes were crispy yet fluffy inside. The Roasted Garlic Aioli drizzled on top paired fantastically with the seasoned potatoes. Overall, Pearl & Lime is a cute local restaurant in Quincy Center to catch up with friends or have a small gathering! I'd come back here if I were already in Quincy Center (since parking can be tough around here). Would recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
Granddaughter is celiac so this is one of her favorite places with lots of GF options. Server Mark was phenomenal as he gave us great suggestions and was very attentive. Food and drinks were very good. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Tacos were meh - they were filled with chicken, shrimp, etc. but all I could taste was the tortilla. The taste of the tortilla was totally overpowering. Very small portions for all the different food items - the tacos are on the smaller side which I knew going in, but everything else (chips and guac, quesadilla) were also incredibly small. The hostess was pretty rude- empty restaurant but made a fuss about sitting us at a booth. Our server was not great either. Even though this is a newer restaurant to the Quincy area, inside it felt a bit run down. I personally would not recommend anyone visiting.

Yelp
We came for the drinks, unfortunately did not have any food. The service was great and the bartenders were amazing.

Yelp
Food was good, portion smaller than expected. Street corn was good, not as good as actual street vendor ones I've had. But overall, nice place and nice bar place if you want a drink. I left it 4 star because it's expensive for the portion size.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Quincy! I've lived here for 3 years and never went until last week and omggg have I been missing out. The food is delicious. Everything was 10/10! I'd definitely recommend the birria tacos, ribs and the ginger non alcoholic beverage! The service was great too! And the ambiance is perfect for date night or girls night/ outing with colleagues.

Yelp
Great spot for some delicious Latin food! Parking can be hit or miss so be prepared for that if you're coming during peak dining hours! Items we ordered (as of 2/2023): - Pearl and Lime Nachos - $12 - This was fantastic. Every chip was perfectly coated and the flavor combinations were phenomenal. Perfectly shared between 2 people! I'd get this again 100%. - Popcorn Chicken - $11 - These were perfectly friend and juicy on the inside. Really enjoyed the sauce that came with it. Again, perfectly shared between 2 people! For the tacos (prices are for ONE). - Guisada Taco - $5.25 - Nice beef flavor but nothing too noteworthy. - Crispy Pork Belly - $5.25 - Pork belly was very delicate. A favorite of mine and would get again! - Shrimp Taco - $5.25 - Perfectly fried and also has great flavor. Would also highly recommend this. - Fish Taco - $5.25 - Fish was very delicate and again, the flavors were on point. 100% would recommend. Overall I see why this place is so popular. The food is great and the ambiance is very relaxed. Will definitely be back in the future.

Yelp
Amazing flavors and great service. The Colombian street corn was very authentic and the vibe of the restaurant was positive and upbeat. We saw families enjoying a bite, college kids catching up after a long day of classes and people enjoying a drink with friends. We'll be back!

Yelp
I was very disappointed by my visit here and am very confused by the 4 stars. The drinks were good, which was the only saving grace. Also the restaurant is nicely decorated with a nice vibe and our server was friendly. I ordered the fish tacos which had zero flavor on the actual fish. Sometimes I can accept this if the sauce carries the tacos, but this was not the case here. I also ordered the sweet potato empanadas with mole. I was excited for these but they literally just threw sweet potato in an empanada wrapper with no effort.. the mole sauce was also not my favorite. Lastly the broccolini was desperately missing salt. Also saw a mouse run behind my table!!! Definitely will not return.

Yelp
Ok for a drinks or an easy dinner. The food is not bad but the seats are a bit too crowded. Servers were friendly.

Yelp
It's easy to virtual signal by adding a service charge to cover employee healthcare but do it on another persons dime. If the sanctimonious owner cared, they would provide healthcare discreetly instead of passing a guilt trip on top of already inflated restaurant prices. Definitely a no go.

Yelp
I love all our restaurants in Quincy and Pearl & Lime is at the top of my list--a fun atmosphere with specialty cocktails and a lip-smacking menu. We probably come here at least once a month, if not more, and this past time we dined here was one of our best experiences. We sat at the bar and ordered a few cocktails; my husband had the El Guapo (rum drink) which was quite delicious and refreshing. I ordered a Maximilian Affair (mezcal drink), one of my favorites, and always made to perfection. For starters, we shared the Queso dip with chips, which was excellent. We then ordered the Al Pastor Quesadilla's, Popcorn Chicken, and a Carne Asada taco. Everything came out nice and hot, flavorful, and delish. We love coming here and if you have not been before you should make this your next date night spot. Cheers!

Yelp
Update: after speaking to the manager about the decorative garnish bowl that sits at the bar ( which patrons, talk, cough and yell over). He agreed it wasn't a good idea to have at the bar to then garnish customers cocktails with. Anyways, I come back for a second visit and the bowl is still there. Your cocktail could be cute and full of Covid. The food came fast but was extremely greasy. The shrimp and fish tacos were hard as a rock. I couldn't . One minute you have a 5 star experience and the next, a 2 star.

Yelp
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. The best , and I mean the best tacos i've ever had. I would recommend every single one. Service is incredible. Extremely friendly and fast service. Great night for a date or a couple tacos and drinks with the friends.

Yelp
Cool little spot in Quincy center. Ground level so lighting is kinda dark. The food was ok and moderately priced. We went during happy hour so they had some specials. The tacos were our favorite and the corn and empanadas just ok.

Yelp
Pearl & Lime is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food and drinks. Nothing bad to say about it.

Yelp
Was looking for a taco spot that was close to Quincy because my bf and I didn't want to drive. This place had pretty good reviews but sadly I would not go back or recommend. Prices are a bit steep because from pictures I know the portions were very small, much like tapas. First, we came super early like 6pm so there were plenty of seats open and they sat us right next to an existing table which doesn't make sense. Anyway overlooked it, ordered a few items knowing the bill was going to be pricey, with no intention of ordering alcohol. Their St Louis ribs to start and they were not good. All it was was a lime flavor that was so acidic and watery at the same time. Wet sauce which St Louis is known for dry rub. It was however super tender For the rest, we ordered an order of Birria tacos, 2 carnitas, 2 carne, and 1 shrimp. The corn tortillas were honestly stale and didn't look like regular corn tortillas. The shrimp in the tacos were so small and fried which disappointed cause I couldn't taste them at all besides batter. The carnitas were dry but ok. And the birria like I expected were small like normal size tacos but not how they usually are when you get 2 pieces. Plus the dipping broth provided was super watery and tasted water down The birria also took 15 after the rest of our tacos arrived and I had to wave down our waiter to ask where it was. Service was also ok and I had to wave down our waitress a few times

Yelp
Love pearl and lime so much! The bartender allyssa is so engaging even when she has a full bar. She really knows what she's doing! I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink and she asked me about my preferences and then created an off the menu cocktail that I was obsessed with. Telling everyone I know to go to pearl and lime, they won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Came with a large party and made reservations very close to closing time. The restaurant still accommodated for us and we made sure to communicate that we were going to be late. We ordered a lot and probably tried almost everything on their menu. My favorites were the street corn, crispy pork belly taco, and birria tacos
google avatar

Denise F.

Yelp
Cute decor and a great vibe. Visited for a birthday dinner. The food was good but, probably won't go back. Got a variety of dishes and tried a few drinks. The service was great, the service was pleasant and attentive. If you're in Quincy, do stop by.

Yelp
Visiting Boston from California. We went for the first time. Atmosphere is great, food is delicious, drinks are well made with a bartender mixologist. Pricing are reasonable. Second visit was a bad experience. Drinks were great, food was on point. Almost finish with dinner, headed to men's restroom. After the door lock broke. Was stuck in the restroom for about 10 minutes. I called my friends that I came with to let the manager know. He came immediately and decided to break down the door. He was upset and look like I unconvience him. My other guest paid the bill. When we will leaving we were stopped because the manager inform us the bill was wrong. The waitress forgot to add an item on the bill. This was odd. We waited longer to correct our bill. I would of gave them 5 stars, but the manager attitude made me to decide to give them 1 star

Yelp
This place is so fun! It's a small place, so might not be ideal for a big group. Service is always friendly and attentive, and food is always so good. Yummy drinks! It's on a busy street so street parking might be tough (however there's a parking garage down the street).

Yelp
Came here on a Friday at around 6 pm. We didn't have to wait for a seat, but it did get busy very soon after. For drinks we got a mojito and strawberry margarita. The margarita was alright, not that sweet. The mojito was watered down and bitter. For tacos we ordered barbacoa, crispy pork belly, and fish with papas bravas and taquitos on the side. The tacos were on the smaller side, but they were good. I would not recommend the crispy pork belly taco though, the meat was rough and dry. Overall, the other food was great. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and wasn't too loud despite the crowd. Good place to catch up with friends or go on a date. Service was good, though it did get very busy later into the night and we had to flag down our server for the bill.
google avatar

Yelp
This is our most visited/ordered from restaurant in Quincy. I love their beef and cheese empanadas, taquitos (in restaurant, not great for takeout as they lose flavor), and their drinks are amazing. This is a place that would fit well into the city-- I'm glad that it's thriving in the suburbs. Hospitality has always been very good too.

Yelp
A most well-deserved 5 rating! While traveling on business, meals can be a little hit or miss, but I found a gem in Pearl & Lime. The ambiance is super cool; I especially loved the fun tiki inspired barware. I sat at the bar; bonus points for the purse hooks The bartender was attentive, had a great personality, and he effortlessly whipped up some pretty tempting cocktails (dry January challenge prevented me from partaking, but appealing nonetheless). I ordered the Chicken Tinga Taquitos and the Camarones Taco. The star of the show was the taco - a hearty corn tortilla with the perfect crisp to it (had to be made in house!) a good portion of crispy fried shrimp, not greasy at all, with a pineapple salsa. The heat & sweet was so fresh and delicious. The Taquitos were also enjoyable: perfect portion, crisp, and flavor. Lastly, I appreciate their investment in newer technology which meant that leaving my wallet at the hotel did not relegate me to washing dishes in for my meal. Thank goodness for ApplePay!! Needless to say, this will be a repeat for me on a future stay in the area.

Yelp
Amazing service, wonderful food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend the queso and fish tacos. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Chill spot. Food is good. I got the Al pastor quesadilla and I'd definitely get it again. Street corn was aight too. There was a crowd, but I was able to find a spot at the bar.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite taco spot in Quincy. Everything here is so good and tastes so fresh and flavorful. You order tacos by the single so you could try every single taco on their menu without breaking the bank. Service is super quick and it's not too loud either in here. They do encourage a reservation but can take small group walk ins.

Yelp
We've been a couple of times now and the food is always great. you can't go wrong on the menu. Excellent flavors and never boring. The restaurant is always pretty tightly packed, and has a great ambiancw, with cozy, unique decor. Service has always been attentive and helpful. We've had great meals from Pearl and Line via takeout too. A real Quincy gem.
google avatar

Emma T.

Yelp
Parking is tricky and not great. However, there's an inexpensive $1/hr parking garage within a 5 minute walk from the restaurant. Very nice ambiance. It felt intimate and modern, yet still had a lot of character. The sangria was good and the guac and salsa too. The empeñadas were piping hot which was great. I'd much rather food be too hot than not hot enough! They have happy hour some days which goes until 6pm. The service was nice, but despite the place not being too crowded, the server took a very long time to return to the table after we finished our meal and then again after we asked for the check. The prices were normal for the area. I would totally return!
google avatar

Abbey K.

Yelp
Great place to try that's local. I loved the vibes coming up to this place. There's parking available in the parking garage about 2 to 3 blocks away. It was only a small fee. We went for drinks, got two different kinds of their margaritas and those were strong, well priced and served in a timely manner. Our server was amazing I wish I could remember her name. The bartenders even gave us an extra drink they made by accident for no charge. I can't wait to come back and try and eat some of their food everything smelled so good! And the colors inside are adorable.

Yelp
Wanted to check this place out since moving to Quincy over a year ago. Finally had an excuse to stop in (but if we are being honest, why do I need excuses to try new [to me] restaurants? In short: excellent food, excellent service, cool vibe, but small portions mean unless a taco barely three times the size of a Costco sample will satisfy you, prepare to drop some dollars. I was able to try: - Ponche De Dragon (drink) - Aunt Dotty Oyster (1) - Mere Point Oyster (1) - Papas con Azafran y Bonemarrow Pastelillo (special) - Pork Belly Taco - Carne Asada Taco - Birria Taco (Lamb) - Homemade hot sauce Now, before you accuse me of being a glutton - two things... 1. The portions here are quite small 2. I can eat like a vacuum cleaner! Ponche De Dragon = If you like your drinks more spirit forwards, this is probably not for you. This drink was a little on the sweeter side, but not overwhelmingly so. It had a tiny bit of spiciness at the back of the throat, but nothing that should scare you away, even if you don't have my heat tolerance. My only critique is, while not all drinks are spirit forward, I like to know a drink contains at least some booze, and I hard a hard time picking up on any alcohol within. Oysters = These were of a good size, had a good flavor, and no shell fragments. Only thing here is that it would be wise to wait for when they are half-price, because oysters can quite literally be scarfed down in five seconds, Pastelillo = Not quite what I was expecting. Neither the saffron nor the bone marrow made a noticeable appearance. It was a good pastelillo, but it felt like a potato pastelillo, not the fancy thing the name would seem to suggest. The Special Sauce was interesting, and a little on the sweeter side. Nothing wrong with that per se, but for me personally, a savory sauce (like a queso) would have been preferred. Pork Belly Taco = This was absolutely delectable! It hit absolutely all the right notes in terms of balance in flavors and textures! There was freshness, creaminess, savoriness, and the pork belly was noticeable. While I would have liked a little bit more, I am cautious about suggesting something which may throw off the balance of a taco I would have happily ordered 4 more of. It wasn't quite as tender as the kind found in bao, but still very tender! Carne Asada Taco = Similar to the Pork Belly Taco, all the flavors were on point. The difference here is that there was a more generous helping of protein. And that protein - by goodness! Carne Asada I've had before has been either too tough, or swimming in water/juice... this was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I can safely say it is the first carne asada I thoroughly enjoyed. These two tacos stayed together while eating quite well without becoming an impromptu taco salad after a couple bites. Then again, these were quite small - think about 3/4 the size of what a regular taco might be, give or take. Those couple of bites is all it takes before it is no more. Birria Taco (ordered with lamb) = This was something else. The whole tortilla was covered with a delicious protein. I knew this would be delicious when I smelled the freshly cooked lamb as the dish was brought to my plate. This one is larger than a regular taco, and more protein forward. At the same time, it also manages to retain that critical balance! The protein itself was also wicked tender and flavorful. I am not quite sure about the dipping sauce though, it seemed similar to the taco filling and did not really add any additional dimensions of flavor. Their homemade hot sauce is very nice! It had a nice level of heat (and this is from someone with high heat tolerance). If you aren't like me, use it carefully! Unfortunately, the bottle isn't conducive to drops, so be careful before you accidentally make yourself into a fire-breathing dragon whose treasure is the food before it. The service is excellent! Very friendly, knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and the food came out fast! The location had a pretty cool vibe too! Then there's the question of value - I'd say it was good, but not great. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent, certainly. Still, I am finding it hard to justify $5 for a taco seemingly not larger than a CD.

Yelp
Wow...great vibe and amazing tapas and drinks! How have we not come here before?! We had the salmon crudo (thank you to the chef) and the ceviche, which was fresh and bright. My husband had two tacos that were so good and I had the taquitos- delish. The drinks were fabulous as well - great flavors and fresh mint garnishes. Miles was our bartender (we always sit at the bar) and he was fantastic! Great mixologist and personality- We so enjoyed our time and meal - cannot wait to return. Also trying out their sister restaurant The Townshend this week!

Yelp
Great spot to grab a drink and light fare. Loved the queso. Service was great and staff were very friendly. We'll be back!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots in Quincy! We have shared many a delicious meal and drink here with our family and friends, and we try to come by once a month at least! The food is absolutely delicious and well made. The staff and bartenders are absolutely amazing and provide amazing service and personable conversation. It is such a chill and relaxed place to be, and so much fun! I highly recommend the street corn, fish tacos, and the margarita drinks. Thank you for all you do, Pearl and Lime staff!

Yelp
We are mostly vegetarian and there were lots of choice. We went there two times in a couple weeks and loved our food! They had just changed the menus so we tried a lot. He loved the oysters and street corn. We loved the chayote salad and papas bravas and nachos. The cauliflower empanadas were amazing! We also liked their zombies! Whew! Powerful but good. The service was friendly. Our second server was obviously new and slower but we thought he'd figure it out.

Yelp
It's funny when your first impression of a restaurant was how cute the booth fabric is, but other than just the aesthetics this place is overall great. I've been there twice and both times left full and happy. I would say this place is best for people you're not afraid of sharing food with, get a bunch of little plates and go to town. Drinks are top notch, Little Paradise is the end of a long day treat yourself vibe that I'm about, but there doesn't seem to be a bad choice on the cocktail side. For the apps Popcorn Chicken is a must, don't let your fear of hot stuff steer you away from the Blistered Shisito Peppers, chips with queso or quac are solid, and the Street Corn Bowl was a little lacking in corn for something called a corn bowl but still good flavor. In my two trips, I've now tried all the tacos and my favorite is easily the shrimp although the pineapple black bean on the vegan one hits different. The Pastelillos are absolutely amazing, they're 2 for $10 but you can get one of each which I recommend. With the bill is a 3% kitchen admin charge which is fully explained on the bill, basically it helps allieviate the wait staff from having to tip out the kitchen staff which someone else complained about on here. Basically if you're not aware most waitstaff have to tip out bartenders and kitchen staff a percentage of the bill or portion of their tip. This admin charge is super considerate of the waitstaff, makes sure everyone else gets their bonus tips, and barely noticeable on the bill.

Yelp
The key here is expectations. If you feel like a tavern experience but not feeling like burgers and wings then this is great. If you're looking for some great Mexican food then no. It's a bit cramped with some weird lighting but not terrible and service is friendly. Food is fine but again, don't have high expectations. It's a tavern that focuses on Tex Mex.

Yelp
Food was good but service was questionable. The hostess who gestured us to the table didn't give us a menu or let us know how to access the menu. We couldn't get a server/hostess's attention but we assumed the menu was online and did find it. We stayed for a couple hours but the restaurant was like 60% empty the entire time we were there. One time, the server came over and started to take away our plates, one of which still had half a taco on it! He didn't ask before doing so and we had to ask him for the plate back. Vegan taco: 5.5/10 too salty Shrimp taco 9/10 very small though Pork taco 8/10 Chips and guac: chips 4/10, guac 9/10

Yelp
I am shocked by my experience here. As a white woman, I have never received this treatment by a restaurant. However tonight, stopping by with 3 women of color, I understood the reality of eating at a Latin American restaurant owned by a white man. We had a question that we asked our waitress about and were referred to the host (who apparently was the owner). He came over to us with very hostile energy and the situation escalated in a way that I have NEVER IN MY LIFE seen before. He ended up ripping the drinks out of me and my friends' hands as they were up to our mouths (unsafe) and told us we would be escorted out by the police if we didn't leave. It would almost be funny because of how ludicrous it was, except for the fact that in all my years of working in restaurants or being a customer at them, I have never seen people be treated like this. I guess when a Black woman asks a question or expresses concern, she's seen as "aggressive" and out of line. The whole thing was bizarre, unprofessional and stunk of racism. Skip it, the food wasn't worth dealing with weirdos!

Yelp
The food was really good! The only reason I give it a four and not a five is because the spicy marg was definitely not what I think of when I think of one. It was good but extremely spicy!! Chips and queso and barria tacos were the highlights for sure.

Yelp
If you've never tried out Pearl & Lime, you must take a trip there ASAP. The whole atmosphere was inviting and upbeat, and their servers are knowledgable about the menu. Highly recommend coming here for their fresh oysters, they were briny and refreshing. Their popcorn chicken is an appetizer staple. Each piece was cooked and salted to perfection. The real showstopper was their selection of tacos. At $4.00 - $5.00 for a taco you're already expecting something delish and they certainly do not disappoint here. My personal favorite was the crispy pork belly taco. With the savory pork belly placed on top of a bed of pickled vegetables with a creamy mango sauce, this was the perfect blend of sweet & savory. The shrimp taco was also quite good - you can tell they do not skimp on the add-ins here. Can't wait to come back soon, it was just so good.
