This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas (city) so far. It offers American bistro items with some global / international inspirations. They have a small menu implying fresh, seasonal, and considerate dishes. And, this proved to be accurate. The burger was exceptional and the fries + sauce were elevated. The fried chicken was crisp and tasty and had some sort of Asian/curry flavor to it. It was accompanied by a house made bread and butter that was unbelievable. Cocktails were innovative too. Prices were not ‘cheap’ but totally reasonable for what you get. Parking is valet only (or fight to get something nearby then walk) and had a $10 fee. Would highly recommend!

Google
Such a quaint & homey spot for some bomb fried chicken and the coldest and dirtiest martini in Bishop! Don't sleep on the beef tartare and grilled leeks. Service was impeccable and the manager even stopped by the table to check in. All around polished experience and looking forward to the new Happ hour coming soon!

Just had dinner at Pillar and overall had a great time. Service was great and the music was bumpin’. Honorable mention: the roasted cauliflower, brioche cornbread and the chocolate cake (INSANE). Fried chicken and meat pies were okay- but ask for hot sauce with the chicken (took it to a new level). Overall we had a great night. Would come back again for sure!

Had the most wonderful birthday dinner here. The chef is truly talented. Our server was wonderful. The food and atmosphere were absolutely perfect!

Pillar lives up to the expectations! Following in the steps of Mot Hai Ba, Pillar offers unique yet known dishes. Every dish hit and was a great experience. The beef tartare was the star though followed closely by the agnolotti. I will definitely be back. Glad to have another great restaurant in the former Boulevardier spot!

If you’re looking for a dining experience that combines innovative cocktails with a truly exceptional menu, Pillar in the Bishop Arts District is the place to go. From the moment we sat down, we were impressed by their extensive cocktail menu, including custom drink options that cater to all tastes. We started with the Lofty Idea, a perfect blend of fig and apple brandy, and it set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The appetizers were just as impressive. The Tuna Carpaccio, served over lump crab remoulade, was fresh and flavorful, while the crispy meat pies, filled with braised brisket and vegetables, were a perfect blend of savory and satisfying. For our entrees, we enjoyed the ribeye, seasoned to perfection and served with a rich beef bone jus, along with the burger, which featured brisket pastrami and a smoky paprika spread. But the standout dish for us was the decadent Pork Rib Cassoulet—comforting, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and we recommend making a reservation, as this spot is becoming a fast favorite in Dallas. Pillar is truly a gem in the Bishop Arts District, and we can’t wait to return!

Google
This was the best restaurant I've been to in Dallas. The atmosphere and service were exceptional. The food tasted amazing but I do wish the nashville oysters were bigger considering they were $5 per oyster and while the duck, bacon, leak pie was great I wish the filling had more moisture as it was a bit too dry when eaten with the pie crust. The beet salad was the best I've had and the chocolate cake was exceptional! Overall it was a great experience and I will come back.

The food was incredible! Def lives up to Mot Hai Ba — interesting and different. A perfect addition to Bishop Arts/Oak Cliff food scene. Jose Luis was so intentional and knowledgeable! Will be a regular here

Yelp
My spouse and I enjoyed our time at Pillar! (Note: we walked past the restaurant several times before realizing its location. They placed the name of the restaurant on the window awning rather than on the front door.) The chef prepares the food perfectly no matter what you order. The menu offers unique food options in comparison to other trendy places. The waitstaff tries their best to provide consistent and quality service despite how incredibly busy it gets. Make a reservation! The atmosphere feels cozy but high energy. They placed the tables very close to each other to accommodate as many people as possible given the tight layout. The bar sits towards the front behind the first section of tables. It gets loud and sometimes difficult to hear your server or those at your table. Overall, I recommend Pillar!

Yelp
Pillar is one of the exciting openings in bishop arts this season! We went for a double valentines date and thankfully ordered 1/2 the menu. The restaurant is dark, lively, with great music. Peter did an amazing job as our server answers all of our questions with honesty and had great opinions overall. As for the food we started off with the grilled leeks, hamachi & apple, onion rings, & Nashville oysters. The grilled leeks were a very surprising front runner and everyone's top 3 bites of the night. The Nashville oysters are so freshly fried with a perfect pickled relish it almost didn't even taste like a normal oyster. As for the mains we got the ribeye, fried chicken (which comes with the Parker house rolls & butter), agnolotti, and sides like Brussel sprouts, fondant potato's, and truffle fries. The ribeye with the bone marrow sauce was one of our favorite steaks so far in Dallas. The fried chicken is definitely a MUST. It is a 1/2 bird so it can easily feed 2 people so thankfully all 4 of us were able to get a bite. Funny enough the Parker house rolls that come with the chicken were all in the top 3 bites of the night as something about fresh bread & great butter will get me every time. Can't wait to come and try everything else we missed!

Yelp
Peter, aren't you dreamy! Alluring brown eyes, flawless olive skin, pleasing brown locks.....ok Mickey. That's enough. Get to the food..... What a wonder! Timeless wall decor; like stepping back in time a little- historical figures blessing the walls! Great conversation starters! Peter was perfect. Made stellar recommendations and even allowed me to try a sample of my cocktail before I ordered it! ***YELPERS BEWARE**** the prices you see on here are inaccurate. Add $1-$5 to each item, cocktails included! The onion rings have a tempura batter, funnel cake style if you will, that wasn't too thick. I honestly prefer the panko/flour method. They paired well with the sauce, similar to remoulade. The fried chicken was fried perfectly. It ain't Popeyes folks! I believe it was marinated in curry! This entree is enough food for 2. Don't get cute, solo eater. You WON'T finish it! I was concerned about the breast being dry....probably the juiciest breast I've ever had! The cornbread brioche wasn't my fave (not a fan or cornbread or brioche lol) Everything needed a little salt....probably why my cholesterol is high. I wish there were more of the greens! Tender, flavorful! I probably won't be back; born and raised here and have visited this area a total of 10 times, but if someone asks where they should eat in Bishop Arts, I'll say, "Check out Pillar!"

Yelp
Had a very positive experience at Mot Hai Ba and was eager to check out Pillar! Enjoyed everything from the appetizers to the entrees! Thank you Chef Krstic and team for a memorable experience. Can't wait to be back to try other items on the menu

Yelp
This restaurant was very quaint and well decorated. We had reservations so we were promptly seated right after they greeted us. You walk in and the bar is just to the right, which is quite expansive. I started off with a cocktail which was very delicious. We ordered the ribeye and the agnolotti as entrees and both were delicious! I definitely wanted more bites of the agnolotti pasta and was regretting sharing it with my friend lol. This was probably one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time. It was well balanced and complemented the short rib quite nicely.

Yelp
Pillar takes elevated bistro cuisine to a new level. The menu highlights fresh, French-influenced, farm-to-table flavors served in a cozy yet lively environment. The restaurant exudes a vibrant and robust energy--you can truly feel the joy filling the room. Pillar is tucked in a cozy and easy-to-miss place right off Bishop St., but overlooking this rest around would be a mistake. S/O to Jeremy for truly making the night with his great service, recommendations, and energy!! Another reason I'll be adding this spot to my location. Highlights: Roasted Cauliflower with Cauliflower Kimchi: This dish shines with perfectly balanced savory and sour flavors. It's an excellent vegan and vegetarian option-- though it may not feel as substantial for those craving a heartier dish. Nashville Hot Fried Oysters: A must-order! These oysters put a unique pescatarian twist on a Southern classic. The tangy, spicy flavors transfer seamlessly to the fried oysters. Grilled Branzino: Expertly grilled to perfection. The flaky fish is paired with a lightly dressed fresh salad that makes for a delightful choice, especially for light eaters. Grilled Leeks: Simple yet perfectly executed, this dish highlights the kitchen's skill in elevating even the most humble ingredients. Yelp
Awesome new restaurant in Bishop Arts! The service was fast, our server knowledgeable. The appetizers tuna tartare and beef carpaccio were delicious. The chef brought them to us and explained them. All of the drinks were delicious (especially the espresso martini). We loved the atmosphere with exposed brick and ornate wallpaper and photos. We will definitely be back for another meal.

Yelp
Pillar was a fantastic dining experience! As a lover of their other restaurant, Mot Hai Ba, I had high expectations, and they did not disappoint! Every dish packed a ton of flavor. Although they have items that sound classic, each one had a fun unique twist! Like the beef tartare, but served on a hash brown...and the fried chicken with a curry twist! The restaurant is seasonal and soul satisfying. The wait staff is extremely passionate and attentive. Yelp
Food was delicious being well prepared and flavorful. I didn't think much of the vegetable gratin but the tuna burger was excellent. I would return and try the fried chicken.

Yelp
Great meal and drinks here at Pillar! We were excited to visit on the soft open and loved the atmosphere in the air. Service was great on meal recommendations and on the wine from the som. Cheers and I hope for great things for this place!

Yelp
We were so excited to try out this new spot, we love Mot Hai Ba, so we knew Peja would not disappoint with this new place. The service was wonderful, great recommendations were made. All of the drinks are very different and have a new and interesting taste. The food was insaneeee, the beef tartare on a crispy hashbrown was so delicious. The fried chicken was huge and tastes so good. It comes with some delicious corn bread rolls and homemade butter ghat was to die for. Will definitely be back for more!!!

Yelp
10/10 experience. The food was incredible - and that's saying a lot for the Dallas food scene. This place deserves a star. The espresso martini might be the best in town and all of the cocktails were great.

Yelp
We had a reservation and got seated right away. We did appetizers, mains, and desserts. All were good, but the apps and desserts were great. Overall, very delicious food, nice ambiance, and good service. Will be back.

Yelp
Such a cute and cozy restaurant. The servers were great and the food was amazing. The portions are smaller than typically expected at restaurants. I think table bread would have been great to make the meal seem more filling.

Yelp
Our first visit to Pillar but definitely not the last. Located in the old Boulevardier space in Bishop Arts this is an incredible addition to the Dallas restaurant scene. All aspects were top notch. Our server (Peter) was more a guide giving us insightful suggestions as to his favorites on the menu. Innovative craft cocktails (I opted for the Irish Whiskey, spiced brandy and fig (Lofty Idea). We shared the onion rings battered with curry vanilla batter and perfectly fried. Next was Nashville corn meal hot fried oysters. Served with a hot honey. Just one each but perfect and left me wanting more. Moved on the an order of agnolotti. Perfect little pasta pillows filled with house made ricotta and caramelized onions with a thickened broth of browned butter and tender braised short rib meat. (It was sooo good!) Finally the pork rib cassoulet. Full of melt in your mouth delicious pork short ribs served over leaks, beans with a a grilled apple chutney that was the perfect addition to this dish.... I hesitated to write this review as this won't stay a secret for very long. Thank you Peter for your friendly and expert guidance and thank you to the entire Pillar crew for a truly unique and wonderful experience!!

Yelp
The restaurant and the amazing food alone would have been enough to rave about this quaint place, in an amazing neighborhood, with an amazing focus on detail... however, none of those things were our favorite part of our first visit to Pillar. Jose Luis, our server, was amazing. The way he made us feel like family was incredible. How do you sit in a trendy, busy restaurant and feel like the only table there...? I don't know... but we did. We 100% will be back, and 100% will request to sit with Jose Luis to experience the ever changing menu with creative and delicious twists.

Yelp
Let me begin by saying my experience began from the time I as seated. The service was great and my server, Jose was gracious and knowledgeable about the drinks and food. The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to dessert. We started the meal with the Beef Tartare (I could eat this all day), Hamachi And Apple (light plate cleanser), Grilled Leeks (OMG delicious), and Duck, Leek, And Bacon Pie (upscale pot pie, best I have ever had). We finished with the Coconut Cream Pie (full of coconut). I will be returning to try the burgers and more.

Yelp
Heard a lot of great things so gave it a try, we were super excited for this one. Ordered the chicken sandwich; came out wrong the first time but was corrected. The food was tasty however a little bummed and underwhelmed. Would not go out of the way but would try again if I was in the area. White wine was not cold, asked for descriptions of the wines by the glass and had multiple different FOH say they weren't familiar with "that one" and there was only a few. No dessert offered, presented with the check quickly. Maybe it was us, maybe it wasn't but not as impressed as others.

Brittani V.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! We had several items - meat pies, burrata, cassoulet, and fried chicken. Everything was WONDERFUL. Service was great, ambiance was casual but upscale. 10/10!

Yelp
Oh my gosh! This place is Wonderful! Not to be missed Hamachi and Apple, Side Fryes with parm and rosemary so good! Great appetizers. Burrata and fried avocado were both light and refreshing! Lamb Tortellini earthy and so good. Not to be miss is the coconut cream pie So Good! Enjoy!

Yelp
We had dinner with friends, total of 4 of us. We had a wonderful time, and the appetizers, drinks, dinner and desert were killer. Our waitress Kristin was on top of everything and knew the menu, I was impressed by presentation of the food on the plates, the service and the ambiance. The bathrooms were clean, which means if the bathrooms are clean, so is the kitchen. Yes, I will go back, and will try, the shrimp and grits, and get the cholate cake for dessert and I will not share this time. The drinks from the bar were wonderful. The whole staff was friendly, in short it was a wonderful experience. We will be going back.

Yelp
We were very excited to try Mot Hai Ba's sister restaurant. Everything was great at first, but the plates were progressively coming out late. Last plates came out 45 min after the previous. Owner or manager (unsure who he was) apologized and said he would come back to make sure everything was good, but kept on looking at us and never came back. My dirty martini tasted like it had pickle juice in it, not olive juice. Overall the food was great (although too salty) but the service was just not there. Maybe because we were a table of 2, but everyone deserves the same experience. Will probably not come back here, but will definitely be going back to Mot Hai Ba.
