Pins Mechanical Co. - Review - The Gulch - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Your date has passed the coffee meetup test and charmed their way to a follow-up dinner. Now it’s time to see how your potential partner handles losing. Take them to Pins Mechanical, a casual old-school gaming parlor in the Gulch with pinball and duckpin bowling. It’s the perfect environment to suss out if your date graciously admits defeat or executes a full-on Hingle McCringleberry celebration after winning. In between games, you can hop out to the food truck parked on the premises. There’s a different one just about every night, but we’ve had some great mac and cheese, smoked barbeque, and Colombian food before. There’s also a bar inside with some solid sangria, or, if you’re still feeling competitive, a drinking game aptly named “Kerdrunk.”" - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Came for the "duck pin" 🎳 bowing. Enjoyed it but wished I could bowl more than one game, but when they have a wait list, only 1 game per person per lane. I respect but found that to be the disappointment of the whole experience. They will keep asking you if you want a drink if you don't have one in your hands. I understand the up sell part but have a memory that you asked me 2x already. Fun experience, but I don't see it as something I would do again. Too many children running around for my taste, even the ones chasing ping pong balls down my lane. That was not cool. Wish you much success. Entertainment for all to enjoy.

Google
Our company recently got us there for our Manager's Conference and we all had a blast. The food was great, drinks were very deliciously prepared, and the service was great. The servers were constantly checking our tables and they were all friendly.

Sarah Serrano

Google
Had lots of fun visiting my family here in TN! Love the vibes for sure! The bowling was a lot of fun— staff was quick to fix any stuck pins

Jeremy Frye

Google
Great place to hang with family and friends. Lots to do to keep the kids busy! Cocktails are great. Service is friendly. You provide your own food, Pins provides the fun.

Kevin Reichenbach

Google
What a great experience, other people must think that too. The place was packed and had a waiting list. When it was our turn, we enjoyed playing duck pin bowling. The only drawback was that due to the waiting list, we were only able to roll one game. (But understandable).

Google
Pins Mechanical is the ultimate playground for grown-ups and kids! We stumbled into this place looking for a cold beer and a good time—and wow, did we hit the jackpot. From the second you walk in, it’s all smiles and good vibes. The beer is ice cold, the music is on point, and the whole place is bursting with energy. What makes Pins a total gem? It’s completely family-friendly while still feeling like your favorite bar hangout. Think duckpin bowling, giant Jenga, ping pong, foosball, and every awesome yard game you can think of. My kids were in heaven, and so were we. The vibe is like your coolest friend’s backyard party—but with better drinks and zero cleanup. Whether you’re there with your kids, your crew, or just want to throw axes and sip a cider, Pins has you covered. 10/10 will be back (like… next weekend). If you haven’t been yet, GO. And bring your A-game! Lolol!!!

Google
I had the absolute pleasure of working with Kaitlin Cash to plan an outing for my team, and I cannot recommend her enough! From start to finish, she was incredibly responsive, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went off without a hitch. She took the time to understand what I wanted for my group, offered creative suggestions, and handled all the logistics seamlessly. Thanks to her professionalism and positive attitude, I am eager to book with this venue again! I’m so grateful for her support and would absolutely work with her again in the future. Five stars all around!

Google
Great concept, we had lots of fun och would love to come back. We should bring this concept to our home town Gothenburg, Sweden. But - staff in the bar should work on their people skills. Rather grumpy, actually.

Yelp
Great place with a variety of different free and paid activities. The bowling was unique in that you do not need to wear bowling shoes and the balls were smaller and less heavy. The pins are connected to strings. They do get tangled occasionally but usually the machine autocorrects itself. There are also free activities like giant jenga, beer pong, ping pong.

Yelp
I am mediocre at Duckpin bowling, but I really enjoy it so I was very excited to try out this place in Nashville. Pins Mechanical is located in the bottom of apartment buildings or condos, so it doesn't look that big at first glance. But once you realize how much ground it covers, you will see that it is huge! There is a bar right when you walk in, two sections of arcade games, and toward the back there are a number of bowling lanes. Fortunately, we were able to walk right up and play a game. Gameplay was very smooth and it moved pretty quickly since there were just two of us. It's harder than it looks because you can't roll the ball too fast since the pins are on strings, so you really have to be strategic. You do get three rolls which is very generous. Besides the game, my favorite part was the *FREE arcade section. I walked right up to Tapper, one of my go-to games, and played several rounds. The only word of caution is that these games are free, so you get what you pay for. Several of the games were out of commission and some that did work had faulty buttons. The beer selection is pretty good and the prices are reasonable compared to other places we visited. However, I learned a hard lesson about the liquor tax. At one point, an employee was walking around with pink shots for breast cancer, and I bought two for $7 each. It ended up costing me $20! That was unexpected and put a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, which was pretty pink after the shot. Overall, this is a nice place to go for a family, big group, or a couple of friends. There's enough room to spread out, the bowling is very fun, and if you can find your favorite arcade game for free, it's even better.

Yelp
Cute space and perfect for large groups. The inside space is quite loud but they do have an outdoor/indoor space which is great. Lots of activities to do. Here are some negatives: they do not have any food. When we were there, there was one food truck parked outside but it really wasn't for everyone. Also, the drinks were terrible! I tired two different features cocktails and they tasted very synthetic.

Yelp
A great place to visit if you've got underage children in your party. After a certain time children are not allowed in the bars on the main streets in Nashville so Pins Mechanical is the place to be! The entire family can enjoy themselves and those over 21 can enjoy a few drinks while playing games! A super fun place

Yelp
Completely off the walls bonkers place. Really just a big adult playground. There's giant Jenga, giant beer pong, regular ping pong, regular sized cornhole, mini bowling, bocce ball.. the list goes on and on. Oh, and tons of retro arcade games. Just imagine a hipster Dave & Buster's. The place is massive with lots of different rooms for activities, so many activities. Now that I think about it, it's more of a giant adult daycare center. "Just give 'em booze and games, and they'll be tuckered out in no time." There's even a list of rules posted on the wall. Break any of them, and you may get a timeout. I could easily spend many a weekend afternoon here. Not sure if I could think of a better kind of place to just kick it with the homies. Then afterwards, grab dinner in the city before a fun night out. Pins Mechanical is the perfect way to get things started.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for his birthday! There was a corporate event going on which was fine as majority of the space was open to the public. We went in and were a little confused but there were people in "The Cage" that let us know the scoop. Basically, you only need to reserve for bowling. Everything else is free or quarters/dollar bills. They do have an ATM on site which is nice. There was cornhole, pinball, life-size beer pong, ring toss, OH! and a slide from the second to first floor that is all free and fcfs. The bar is just like any other: little bit of a wait, regular pricing for DT Nashville. My husband got a Hulk Hogan which had a bomb pop popsicle in it, I got a Carrie Fisher which had rock candy. I really liked my drink :) They also had two fire pits going on the patio. It was loud but that was expected. Good time overall!

Yelp
If you're looking for a fun date night or a night with a group of friends, look no further. With a huge variety of games, a large open space, and a great bar, you can spend an entire evening here and never stop having fun. One of the most obvious attractions is the Pin Ball (mini bowling), which costs several dollars per person per game depending on the day of the week. It is definitely an activity you want to do at least once while you're here. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but they can put you on a wait list. You bowl with smaller balls and shorter lanes, but it's just as much fun. Other things to choose from include patio pong (giant beer pong with trash cans, but hold onto your own beer), jumbo Jenga, cornhole, skeeball, pinball machines that just take a quarter, and more. There's even a giant slide. Some of the games are free, some of them you need to pay a small amount, but they are all worth it. The bar can get expensive depending on what you're ordering, but they are serving fast friendly and high-quality. Definitely pay attention to the daily specials list, you can save a significant amount of money by going on the right day or ordering the correct drink for the day you're there. I discovered this location while on vacation, and after I got home realized there was one within a reasonable drive of home. I have a new favorite place on the town. Just go already, you'll have a great time.

Yelp
Such a fun time! Great for large groups. With duckpin bowling, arcade games, and lots of outdoor yard games - you can spend hours here having fun. The staff was great. Plus, they have three large bars spread throughout the venue. Wonderful time!
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
This is a fun place to go. The pinball machines are a dollar a play, which is wild expensive for an arcade bar. Everything else is free. They have video games, skew ball, outdoor area, a slide. They also have great alcohol free drinks which is great. Overall it's a cool place but if you're coming for pinball just go to Up/Down instead. Also beware they let children in here. If you're looking for a chill place to play games in an adult area, this may not be it. There was children running around without parents.

Yelp
We were only there for short period of time, due to a private party that they rented out the entire place. For the hour and a half that we were there, we got to play free, arcade, games, pong, and mini bowling that was very interesting, never saw any kind of bowling set up like that before. The drinks were decent and we did not have any food. The staff there seem to be very nice as well.
google avatar

Haley M.

Yelp
Cool spot with fun games and decent drinks. No food in house but they do have a food truck near by. A little pricey to play mini bowling but still a good time out!
google avatar

Wesleigh W.

Yelp
Came to Pins Mechanical after going out for a nice dinner. It was an awesome, low-key place to hang out. In addition to bowling and skee-ball, they had quite a few pinball machines, old-school/classic arcade games, and giant Jenga. The cocktails were pretty great, too. I had one called Breakfast Club which was basically a mocha martini. Highly recommend for a fun night out!
google avatar

Keri L.

Yelp
This place was so fun!! We played a round of Duck Pins, Jenga and Hoochie! It's also pet friendly which was really nice to see! There are several bars throughout but they also have servers that come around and take your drink orders. I had The Daphne which was delicious, The Root Beer Riot which was OK and I decided to brave out The Game Over but I switched out fruit punch for dragon fruit and it was YUMMY!
google avatar

Nicole P.

Yelp
Such an awesome hangout spot with a super fun vibe for all ages! I had been to the Pins Mechanical in Charlotte before so I knew how fun it is and had to make it apart of my plans on a trip to Nashville. We arrived upon opening on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy by the time we left after spending 2 hours here. We did duckpin bowling which is a lot of fun and highly recommended, reasonably priced at $6/person per game. Unfortunately you can only play one game at a time before having to wait for another lane to open up. It is a fair way to make sure everyone can get a chance to play however and we only had to wait 20 mins for a second game. We didn't even mind the wait while we played free arcade games! They had other games like bocce, patio pong, giant Jenga, and ping pong free of charge! The service was great, the staff attentive to help when our bowling balls got stuck and came around taking drink orders while you bowl. I had a cocktail called the Daphne which tasted like candy! Definitely make this a stop in your plans, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Jenna K.

Yelp
Very cool and cheap place for everyone. You can come for free and play LOTS of games, or you can pay $9/person for bowling which is great. They have foosball, ping pong, skeeball, etc. They have lots of bars with cool drinks and places to hang out. Totally recommend for a day or night out!! Just wish they had food there as well.

Erica I.

Yelp
This place is a great spot. They have pinball machines, old arcade games, giant Jenga, corn hole etc. I a great time and went two days in a row . The bowling is on strings. The drinks were good. Even with a lot of people the noise level was not too loud. This place does get crowded as well. I would definitely recommend trying it out.
google avatar

Annalisa M.

Yelp
Absolute blast. Games were so much fun. Only down side is no food but drink selection is great. Highly recommend
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
This is a fantastic & affordable place to hang out! Duck pin bowling @ $6/person per game is very reasonable & they have a bunch of free arcade games, ping pong, jenga, etc & plenty of space to just hang out & people watch. Bar service & cocktails are great as well & all the staff were very friendly. They even have a rotation of food trucks up front if you get hungry. The only thing is parking anywhere in the gulch can be a pain... If you're looking for a great spot to hang out, this is it.
google avatar

Shawnie J.

Yelp
So this was a cousins weekend and this was one of the places we decided to go to enjoy ourselves and we did as we do when we get together. Service was friendly, I had to inform the bartender on how to make my slushy and she did as I asked and my slushy turned out not only tasty but pretty thanks doll! Ambiance has its old school arcade vibe with fake bowling but fun fake but fun and even old school games off to the side. There's a swing if you can get to it, jenga and much more. See ya next time Tennessee!

Amenah A.

Yelp
Randomly very kid friendly for being downtown Nashville. Obviously lots for the adults as well!
google avatar

Prianka S.

Yelp
Great place to hang out with tons of games and activities and also great drinks. Come early for bowling though
google avatar

Harrell B.

Yelp
We did not dine here, so I cannot comment on the food, but this is a great family friendly venue that morphs to more of an adult venue in the evening. Unique entertainment abounds here! The service staff is kind and helpful. You won't be bored here. A great concept.

Staci M.

Yelp
The manager here put his hands on a woman while I was here. It was pretty busy and no one else saw but it was pretty crazy. The guy had black hair or brown hair and it was a while ago, but I just remembered what the name of this restaurant was so I'm saying something. Real POS. *Edit to respond* Good because it looked like he arm barred a woman in some room/prevented her from leaving. She nodded something then he moved but chased her til she yelled something about shirts. Worst of all some hippie dude came out of the room after, so clearly he didn't protect that girl. She looked like she was trying to get away from him it was obvious, speaking as a woman. I wish I had done more in the moment. I hope you do now.

Yelp
Stopped in last minute while we were in town. This place is a must visit for a fun time out! We signed up for duckpin bowling and was told it would be 15 minutes, but we never got the text. Thankfully that wasn't the only attraction to the place. We played for two hours while having some delicious drinks! Found out I'm not very good at games anymore as I got my butt handed to me on each one lol. Definitely coming back when we visit again!
google avatar

Brittan G.

Yelp
Super fun atmosphere! It was lively without being overcrowded and there was something for everyone to do! I love that you can be inside or outside and you can bring your dogs!
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Super-fun place for a date night, or with friends and family. Plenty of fun, free activities for entertainment. The bar offered interesting drinks that we all enjoyed.
google avatar

Monica A.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Fun vibes from booze backyard sports and very kid friendly. Brand new and trendy. A must. Prices are affordable and quality is above par! Come and enjoy. Say hi to our server Zaaye too. Zaaye went above and beyond to tend to us adults and many kids
google avatar

Stacey B.

Yelp
Cool place to come and hang out. Free games. Lots of drinks. Outdoor fire pit. Lots of seating. One major downside is the corn hole game. Some genius made the boards out of metal and every 30 seconds you hear the loud "BANG BANG BANG" of the beanbags hitting the hollow metal box. It really grates after a while and we chose to leave because of it.
google avatar

Bre D.

Yelp
This is a super fun place! We came with kids (allowed before 7:30pm) and had a great time bowling and then playing arcade games for an hour. We didn't even get to it but they have other games too, bocce, ping pong, foosball, and giant Jenga. It's super cute and picture worthy inside too!
google avatar

Emily X.

Yelp
Lots of fun on a rainy night! Drinks were good, bowling was unique, and there were plenty of free games to play that we easily spent a few hours here.
google avatar

Shrewd Shopper I.

Yelp
I attended a company sponsored event here and was quite impressed. The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout the event. The bowling experience was super fun and I loved the throwback video games and pinball machines. The food served was tasty l, the ambiance chill, and the night a smashing success! So glad they chose this venue - it was fun and memorable.
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
Super cool spot! Came here on a Sunday evening, not many people. Games are basically free, get the materials for them through the front desk after trading your ID for it. Had a ton of arcade games, a few console games, pinball games, ping pong, mini bowling, big (trash can) beer pong, cornhole, hooky. Super fun and everything's basically free! I didn't have any drinks but my friends did, they said the drinks were quite tasty and cheap too. Definitely recommend this spot, it's super fun!

Yelp
Pins Mechanical is a fantastic bar that offers a unique combination of arcade games and pin bowling. If you're looking for a fun night out, this place has got you covered. The atmosphere is lively and filled with the nostalgic charm of classic arcade games. One great tip to keep in mind is to visit Pins Mechanical during their daily specials. This way, you can enjoy your favorite activities and save some money at the same time. Additionally, be sure to inquire about their happy hours, as they often have great deals on drinks and food. However, it's important to note that parking can be a bit of a hassle. Due to the popularity of the bar, finding a convenient parking spot might require some patience or alternative transportation options. Keep this in mind when planning your visit. Overall, Pins Mechanical is a cool spot that offers a memorable experience for arcade and pin bowling enthusiasts. Just make sure to take advantage of their daily specials and inquire about happy hours for a more budget-friendly outing. Just be prepared for the parking situation.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of the most fun spots you can be 7 days a week although it's extra fun on Fridays and Saturdays when everyone gets to hangout after work/school. FYI, families and kids are always welcome but it's always 21+ after 7pm. A unique aspect here is that you can bring in your own food but all drinks are to be purchased only from the bar. They have a full bar with good prices to keep the adults happy. There are also $7 Mocktails or $2 sodas for those that don't consume alcohol and for the kiddos, there are even $3 popsicles! They have free arcade games, Jenga, Connect Four etc and 50 cent Foosball or $1 pinball machines. Then there's $6p/game for bowling, and for $6 per 30 mins you can get Bocce, Ping Pong or Patio Pong. Or just hangout by the Fire pit and enjoy the outdoors! There's something for everyone. The only drawback is parking.... as there is none. You'll have to park a little further out and walk. So if you park at those spots with free 1hr parking, that won't be enough cos the wait for bowling can be about a 1.5hr wait like we had this evening. There's a sign about parking validation but my friends claimed they still had to pay the full price. My suggestion: It'd be really nice for us locals who live in this neighborhood and frequently come here to get a Gulch discount or some kinda stamping system
google avatar

Yelp
Super fun!! Great date spot. 80's console games and booze! I'm not sure how you go wrong here.

Nashville Door Company D.

Yelp
Best place for parents AND children. Bar and games for adults. Barfood. Tons of games for kids too. Duckpin bowling, pinball machines, old school arcade games, giant pong, Jenga and lots more. Feels like a family party. Really friendly and fun and reasonably priced. Dads, let the kids go nuts while you have a beer and watch sports.
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
Very interesting place to take the whole family. Food is okay nothing out this world but taste good. Service is a little busy but the staff always try to their best. Incredible atmosphere to play games and have a great time.

David K.

Yelp
Worst experience. $27 tequila soda. "Reservation" for bocce cancelled 5m into game - superseded by pre-reservation. Patio pong same issue. Management needs to figure out their reservation system. 14 bartenders working but nobody will help to make a drink despite nobody ordering. Very unfriendly staff. Won't be back
google avatar

Sara K.

Yelp
I love pins! Their take on bowling is really fun and easy to learn. I suck at bowling and I was pretty great at pins so if you're in the same predicament this might be the place for you! They have various other games while you wait for your lane to open up. I will say it can take a long time for your lane to become available so add your name to the list quickly. It's a dog friendly spot with lots of seating and space! They have lots of great drinks and you can order a popsicle, but they don't serve food themselves. There are food trucks that come just depending on the time you're there!
google avatar

Josh B.

Yelp
Really cool and unique spot. It was walking distance from where we were staying and it sounded like something cool to do. We showed up just planning to play some pinball which was fun, but decided to play their 10 pin bowling type game and it was so much fun. That along with their drinks that were on happy hour made it a worthwhile visit. Great staff, clean and cool place to vibe
google avatar

Karl A.

Yelp
A gem of a spot off of the beatin path in Nashville. It looks like a factory from the outside, but once in it's all fun. I went with the family. Kids are allowed prior til 8pm. Also, drinks are $2 off until 7pm so it works out. It's essentially a bar and a playground. They have pin bowling ($4 a person a game), pinball, and arcade machines (which are free). It's a large location with a friendly atmosphere. Also, come late afternoon there is a food truck parked outside. If I'm ever back in nashville I'd definitely go back. Put it like this, we were here a week and made our way over to this place twice.
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
Parking is terrible and expensive. Wait times are too long and we signed up to do the bowling but the lady never signed us up for it so we never got called. Found out after we waited the time she said it would take.
google avatar

Amit M.

Yelp
Great spot with good vibes and games like cornhole, pin bowling and arcade games. You can easily spend a few hours here just hanging out, grabbing drinks, and keeping yourself entertained with all the different activities
google avatar

RA J.

Yelp
A great place for a group of people to go drink and have fun while being competitive but not too competitive. This would be a great place for birthday parties for children also.

J B.

Yelp
Interesting area. Was told a party in the corner was drinking $50 cocktails. I said wow, us too, and was told we weren't there. We had two basil Hayden old fashions. They were $30.00, each! This ain't the Ritz Carlton! Wow! Guess I should have asked. Got a larger old fashioned at Chauhans Ale and Marsala house on the next block for $13.00. Won't be back. Have some reviews where drinks were rang in as open alcohol.. $15 margaritas rang in as $30. Wow! Not here. But, I pulled up the Ritz Carlton in Boxa Raton, FL. Mist expensive craft cocktails is $20. Just looked at Pins website. Craft cocktails are $13, and $2 off until 7pm, so should have be $22 for two, not $60!. Do We have a case here? Jus sayin. Bartenders shirt said Joyce, I think. It was a guy, didn't ask., jus sayin. Didn't ask for a drink menu, we were 5 mins early for Chouhas ale house. We were pointed to a small platform with a few bottles, Angel Envy, Basil Hayden, Blanton, some rye. I asked for Basil Haydens, $38 a bottle. Wow! $30 per drink! Buyer beware! There are no other bottles displayed in view. Here's the menu from Ritz Carlton in Boxa Raton, FL. You decide.

Yelp
Loved my visit here! Olivia at the front desk was very cheerful and incredibly kind to me and my party making us feel very welcome. I will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Tony W.

Yelp
Had a BLAST here on my most recent work trip!! Was not here for long but in the 2 hours we were here I had a good beer and fun bowling!! The ambiance was really fun too. Would come back again.
google avatar

Sean H.

Yelp
They lost a customer forever because they rummaged through our stuff (hanging out before going to the airport) and got defensive when we didn't want to go through our underwear. You're not the airport. TSA is kinder than the security here. No need for this. There's plenty of other places to go. Don't come here.
google avatar

Caleb P.

Yelp
The layout is cool for families wanting to be entertained but they don't serve food and the service is AWFUL. The people at the front desk were rude and seemed unhappy to be there. If they would add some food and work on the service, this could be a really cool spot.
