Best Pizza in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Open For: Lunch and Dinner Price Range: $ - $$ With a hundred five-star reviews on Google, Pizza by Yandys is a hidden gem in Sandy Springs — it’s located inside a Mexican grocery store, Carniceria Los Pinos. Yandys serves New York and Detroit-style pizzas using a 48-hour dough for the crust. You can build your own pies or go with specialty ones like Buffalo or barbecue chicken pizza, hot honey with charred pepperoni, or get pizza by the slice for $3.50. Also, try the meatball sub, cheesy bread, and wings. Eater Atlanta contributor Michael Tran reports, “They don’t take shortcuts and respect the dedication needed to make a proper pie. From proofing the handmade dough for 48 hours to freshly grinding low-moisture mozzarella daily, and even selecting different styles of pepperoni based on pizza type, Yandys knows what it takes to deliver a delicious pizza.” Best For: Hidden-gem pizzeria you’ll get street-cred for" - Eater Staff

Eater Atlanta published The Best Pizza Place in Atlanta May Be Hidden Inside a Mexican Grocery Store. We read the writeup on Pizza by Yandys, reviewed the menu, and investigated in-person at lunch. We ordered a slice of Detroit style cheese, a meat lovers stromboli, and two Diet Cokes. We split the slice, while waiting on the stromboli. The Detroit style slice had an airy crust with crispy, caramelized cheese edges and a daub of sauce on top. During the early lunch rush, our stromboli was forgotten. However, as soon as we inquired the owner/chef got right on it. When it arrived, we split the stromboli stuffed with mozzarella, bacon, ground beef, ham, pepperoni, and sausage and it was amazing. A lot of pizza joints offer calzones, but a good stromboli is more of a unique menu offering. For our extended wait, we were allowed to keep a supreme stromboli the kitchen made in error just prior to firing the meat lovers we ordered. We set the supreme aside for lunch tomorrow. Despite the wait, lunch was delicious and we plan to return.

I was looking for pizza in the Roswell Road area and came across this place. I was skeptical about eating here when I arrived because it is inside a grocery store. I'm so glad I decided to try the pizza. I had a slice of the Detroit pepperoni. It was delicious! The sauce was very good and it was crisp in all of the right places! I will definitely be returning to eat here again. The employees were very friendly. Prices are very reasonable. I didn't try the garlic knots, but they looked very 😋!

20/10. These pizzas are this gentleman’s passion. From the moment you approach the staff are friendly, and the pizzas come out QUICK for being made completely from scratch. When they are done they show you the pizza before giving you the box, and you can see how proud they are of every one. The bread is so chewy while the crust is perfectly crispy. Cheesiest cheese I’ve ever had, toppings are roasted perfectly, and it all comes together like art in your mouth. I truly hope nothing but success and fortune for these people, they deserve it!

What a wonderful little find. As a frequent traveler who has flown to New York specifically to eat a slice of pizza, it’s pretty hard to find New York style pizza that consistently hits the mark. The crust has the perfect bite and chew, the garlic shines through the ricotta, the Detroit style sauce pulls no punches, while its crust is light and buttery. Perhaps even more importantly, the man behind it all is stellar and deserves the community’s support. I only lightly chatted with him, but everything he does shows a huge passion for his work, family and product. What a blessing to have a place like this in Dunwoody.

This place is incredible - great sauce on the pizza, the slice holds its shape and doesn’t flop, the ingredients and toppings are fresh, and the owners are super friendly. The hot honey pepperoni and margherita slices are out of this world. Without a doubt the best NY style pizza I’ve been able to find in ATL/metro ATL.

I was nearby and looking for a small bite to curb my hangriness. With all of the 5 star reviews on yelp and google, it didn’t lead me wrong. Wow!!! You can smell the fermented dough, and well… you gotta try it for yourself. I got a pepperoni slice which was the perfect balance of crispy and chewy, and the toppings were just slightly sweet. I also got a pepperoni Detroit slice to compare and this one I couldn’t put down. Dough was so soft, with a thin, crispy layer of cheese, tomato sauce on top was slightly tangy. You have to eat it right out of the oven, as it does change once it gets cold of course. Love that it’s inside a grocery store. I found so many delicious snacks that don’t have preservatives, additives, gums and fake stuff.

This place sits incognito inside a grocery store, but let me tell you that the pizza is TOP! The right crunch, fresh ingredients. The service is nice and quick. Parking is open and free. This pizza is the best - try the honey hot char.

I wish I could rate this higher. Incredible New York style pizza, best in Atlanta by far. Can’t wait to come back and try the Detroit style. Great seating inside. Order-and-sit-down type of a place. Located inside Carniceria Los Pinos
