"Pizza By Yandy’s hides inside Carniceria Los Pinos and Taqueria, a small market on Roswell Road. It’s not a flashy setup—it’s a grocery store with a pizza counter—but this is where you’ll find NY-style slices and great Detroit-style pies that fill the square-sliced void left after Nina & Rafi closed. And you're really here for those Detroit pies with a 48-hour-proofed dough that bakes up with a perfect crisp edge and airy chew. The wonderfully thick pan pizzas layer sweet-tangy red sauce over your choice of topping (we like the pepperoni). Just call ahead since their Detroit pies aren’t always available. The crust shatters at the edges, and it’s soft and airy in the middle. The red sauce is zesty and just thick enough to make it worthy of this great crust. PlayMute Yandy’s Specialty Pizza Yes, the Detroit-style pizza here is excellent, but the NY-style pizza is terrific too. You can order by the slice or as a whole pie. Our favorite is this specialty combo. It’s so loaded with toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and jalapeños that you’ll need two hands to wrangle a bite.
